YGO Zexal Keyswap AU (AKA an excuse for me to engage in Aztecshipping) (I only thought this out through the WDC arc and even then there's still gaps-)(thanks to my friend usagi for helping me fill in some of these gaps)

(This is a long infodump, look out-)

-While looking for the interdimensional portal, but before adding Kazuma to the team, Byron and Faker made a trip out to a hypothetical location where they thought it would be. Faker didn't find what he was looking for, but Byron did get the Emperor's Key, so that's neat.

-Upon returning home briefly to see his younger sons, Byron gave the Key to Michael, figuring he'd love this kind of artifact.

-(Michael did in fact love it. Little nerd.)

-Byron then returned to his research, and then vanished. Michael and Thomas then end up in the orphanage, with Michael safeguarding what items he has left to remember his father (The Aztec Mask Golem card and the Key).

-Flash forward a few years, Michael is thirteen now, and due to a chain of events I have not worked out yet, the Key is activated and Michael meets Astral.

-(Michael is overjoyed at the interdimensional alien tied to the Key, if a bit annoyed that Astral's amnesiac state means he can't tell him much.)

-Michael also already knows how to play Duel Monsters already, but Astral still tries to backseat duel.

-Insert some Number hunting at the orphanage here. Michael's 'starter' Number is Chronomaly Machu Mech, and the first one he gets off someone else is Shark Drake.

-Eventually, when Michael is fourteen, Christopher/V finally comes back to collect Michael and Thomas from the orphanage. After everyone is reunited at Heartland, Tron performs the rituals to place the crests on Thomas and Michael, then requests that Michael return the Key to him.

-Michael refuses, not willing to sacrifice Astral, and Thomas, realizing that his baby brother and his invisible alien friend aren't safe in this situation, creates an opportunity for Michael to flee by picking a fight with V.

-Michael flees with the Key, only to end up breaking down later because he's now completely separated from his family, so soon after he'd thought he'd have them all back.

-Enter the Tsukumos, who let Michael stay with them for a while while he sorts himself out. He and Yuma start making friends.

-Michael is also encouraged to start attending school due to his age, and he tests into the first year of junior high despite being old enough for second year. This means he's now in the same year as Shark and Rio. This won't be awkward-

--Oh, wait, the whole situation with Shark, Rio, and IV happens. Things get awkward with Shark and Michael having to share a class, especially since Michael can't ask his brother what happened.

-Michael also continues Number hunting, though he's now racing his own brothers and Kaito for Numbers.

-Meanwhile, Yuma has also been getting inexplicably better at duelling? Despite not having Astral to help him? Odd, but okay.

-We finally catch up to where the series would have started. Michael is now fifteen and in second year of junior high, and Yuma has started at junior high as a first year. Finally, Michael and Yuma can be at the same school-

-Yuma also starts getting a bit concerned about the Key and Astral, but doesn't say much about why.

-Number hunting continues. Kaito has a WTF moment when he realizes that the guy scrambling for Numbers is Chris's younger brother

-WDC starts! Michael gets himself entered just fine, Yuma is also remarkably on the ball with entering!

-Michael and IV have at least one run in, then late on the second day Yuma and Michael witness V kidnapping Haruto. Michael only admits that the kidnapper was Christopher before he uses his crest to warp back to the Arclight family hideout in hopes of talking them down.

-But...Yuma is here. Wasn't he with Kaito a moment ago?

-Yeah. About that. Tron didn't like losing a pawn when Michael fled, and decided to just manipulate a new pawn instead of deal with an unwilling participant. And wouldn't you know it, Yuma happened to lose his father to Faker's betrayal, desperately wants to duel, and is kind of gullible, so Tron decided he'd make a good enough target, so long as he doesn't find out about the depths of the plan.

-Yuma got to learn to duel, is promised he'd find out more about what happened to his father, pretty much everything he wanted. Tron also convinces Yuma that the Key is influencing Michael like what the Numbers do to most people, so Yuma is convinced that he needs to help Michael by getting the Key.

-(The only thing keeping Yuma from just grabbing the Key sooner is the fact that Michael keeps it physically on his person as much as humanly possible, a habit picked up in the orphanage since leaving your stuff laying around there was a good way to get your stuff stolen.)

-How did Yuma get there before Michael did? Turns out, Tron decided to crest Yuma too, on the promise that it would let him control Numbers safely and protect him from having his soul taken by people like Kaito. Which was true, but conveniently left out what would happen if he lost while controlling a Number.

-In any case, Yuma, IV, and Michael all spend several minutes trying to convince each other to leave and back down before Kaito finally shows up via Orbital hangglider and forces a duel

-Insert Michael and Kaito VS IV and Yuma duel here. Yuma's signature Number is, of course, Hope.

-Duel ends, IV and Yuma flee, Haruto is returned with Yuma never being told what Tron wanted with Haruto in the first place. Tron claims his plan was simply to try and lure in Faker.

-Michael and Astral are horrified at finding out about Yuma, and end up sheltering with Shark for the night instead of returning to the Tsukumos. It's a good opportunity for Michael to talk to his classmate about what's happening/ask Shark about his interactions with IV and Yuma.

-(Shark got Leviathan Dragon instead of Shark Drake BTW. Michael still has Shark Drake, and IV was tasked with delivering Leviathan Dragon since Yuma wouldn't have wanted to hurt Shark.)

-The next day, Yuma contacts Michael and asks to talk. Talking turns into Yuma trying to get the Key in an attempt to save Michael from its assumed influence, which leads to a duel.

-Yuma finally tells Michael what Tron's been telling him and how he just wants to help/find out what happened to his father, Michael in turn tells Yuma the truth about what Tron wants/what the crest will do if Yuma loses while powerful Numbers are in play.

-They then find a way to loophole the duel's end so no one goes comatose, probably by having Yuma replace Hope with a Number not powerful enough to trip the crest.

-Flash forward a bit to the finals! Michael ends up having to face IV during the course of the finals, during which Tron taunts both of them at once. Michael wins, but is upset knowing his brother will go comatose.

-IV's last message to Michael before leaving is to tell him to keep going.

-IV: "Give Tron hell, Michael, Astral."

-Yuma saves Shark from Tron's influence as per canon, thus revealing that he's defected from Tron's side and knows what's truly up. (Tron's intention was for Shark to beat Yuma and let Yuma be cast aside once his role was done.)

-Michael and Yuma end up facing off one more time before the final. No playing around or loopholes this time, winner faces Tron and they both know it.

-Michael wins, and ends up crying as Yuma goes comatose as a result. However, Yuma does give Michael two new cards before slipping under: his signature monster, Hope, and Chronomaly Atlandis.

-Finally, Michael faces Tron and he's not happy. His brothers and Yuma are in comas, so many people have been hurt by Tron's scheming, and all Michael ever wanted was to have his family back.

-They duel. It's a mess, with Tron and Michael both giving their all, and culminates with Michael and Astral going Zexal.

-(Their Zexal form takes a lot of visual cues from Michael's gladiator outfit from the canon Yuma vs Michael duel, btw.)

-Michael wins, and when Faker takes all the Numbers, Michael attempts to save his father from being dragged in.

-Tron, realizing how far he's gone, releases all the affected souls and lets go of Michael, letting himself be dragged in to at least let Michael live.

-Seeing his father be taken away by Faker for a second time utterly breaks Michael. He decides to enact vengeance on Faker himself, storming off to the tower in a fit of rage, only to be intercepted by Yuma.

-After the breakdown plays out, the two decide to go in together to face Faker.

-Shark and Kaito end up turning up too, with the four all tag teaming against Faker.

-The gang wins, enter the second half of the series with the Barians. The only thing I have planned for the back half so far is Alito shows up and starts trying to flirt with Yuma, resulting in Michael getting jealous for 'some reason'. (He is oblivious to just how he feels about Yuma.)

Chapter 1: Who Met Who First

I was in a room laughing as I notice the blood everywhere. I see my mama when I walk forward. She looked over with this sickeningly sweet expression on her face. I felt bliss in knowing I was installing that fear. Soon after I feel the laughter, it was abrupt and angered with insanity. When I look at mother, an item in her hand throws itself at me.

I wake up, opening my eyes with quick breaths and sweat pooling on my everything. It takes a minute before my eyes stop fearfully glancing everywhere before meeting my poster of "The Riddler" a talk show host. When My breathing was stable after laying there reminding myself it wasn't real. Who was it that... No I can't think like that anymore otherwise.

"Joe! It's time to wake up, sweetie," Mother yells upstairs, she must be busy with laundry.

My name is Joe Chill. I prefer my nick name at school "Joker" and I earned it. I get called that for several reasons. My mom calls me that cause of my jokes and silly tricks that make her happy. Not to mention the tricks I've played on my peers at school.

"Joker? Joe? Ah, there you are, how did you sleep?" she spoke in a calm voice smiling when sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Fine. I guess."

I looked down still tired.

"Awww, I know Joker but, it's your first day of high school! Oh my goodness, my little man is growing up and going to school-" she smothered me in motherly words and affection.

"Okay, mom you can let go now! Haha," I spoke while chuckling.

"I'm looking forward to some good things this year," I said with mischievous glee.

Any person that knew me would know that smirk I did wasn't just for laughs.

"Oh no you don't mister! No pranks this year not even if someone bothers you, even if they may or may not deserve it, " she said with a stern tone of voice saying the last part under her breath while walking back downstairs.

"But mom!" I loudly complained following right behind, "My whole class is probably waiting for my pranks. It's traditional!"

she gave a stern look to my dramatic argument.

"No buts. Say 'yes mom' and I'll send you on your way," she spoke standing there facing me.

"Yes mom," I said jokingly in a robot tone.

"Good. Oh, that reminds me, your sister Harleen is going to be at your school, too. A grade higher than you. Also go get dressed my Son-a-tron two thousand," She had spoken so nonchalantly I didn't react till it registered.

I was shocked at this statement. My sister Harley is for lack of better words a psycho she can be rough and violent, when needed but, she present herself as put together and is smarter than she'd admit. She's embarrassed me a lot of times at school, too. I love her to death but she can be annoying at times. One time I was getting bullied and nearly got into a fight she stepped in and got in the guys face. I mean yeah she tried to help but still I could handle myself.

"Please tell me she's not-" I said not even finishing my sentence.

"Yup she's moving back here forever her dad finally took the time and decided it was best if she was with me," she squealed in joy like she hasn't seen Harley in ages... It's only been a year.

Someone knocked at the door and mom rushed to answer it. Harley jumped straight in through the door with a front hand walk over then a cartwheel. She landed in front of me with a "ta-da" she said. She hugged me tightly till I gasped for air she then let me go.

"How's my little puddin doing?" She was practically beaming with excitement.

I shrugged with a chuckle. She hasn't called me that since we were kids. I was really confused by a mark on her upper arm. Like burn marks I frowned a little.

"uh-uh-uh turn that frown upside down I'm not gonna bother you all school semester unless someone gives you trouble," she winked and walked back to the door laughing while grabbing her things.

I'm sure I wasn't imagining those marks. I'll ask when she settles in more. I became intrigued when I heard a noise outside all of a sudden.

"What the?" I whispered to myself of course.

I walked to the door passing mom and Harley in a quizzical conversation. Peeking out the open doorframe I spot the old Cobblepot residence being looked at by a family bringing in luggages inside. Oh, they're moving in.

Just like that there they were... new neighbors. Why at a time like this? It seemed odd. I saw a thin women with good physic and she looks healthy, pretty, house wife I believe by her attire. A man with a muscular physic that most men had, sturdy, business man attitude. Then there was a little boy looking around my age he looks more buff than me. I studied him his facial features he had dark eyes, he had the perfect Chin, his smile had pearly whites just like mine. He had most beautiful black hair unlike me with messy green hair, he also had a tan going on I was a tad bit pale.

I was staring for too long analyzing him and his family I didn't notice he saw me and we shared glances. I was scared. What if he tries talking to me? What if he's a bully? I don't know these people. Looking over when back to reality he was speaking to his mom, pointed at my house, she looked over, smiled, nodded yes to something, and he was suddenly walking over here. I hid against the wall. Someone wants to meet me?

"Um, hello? Green hair guy?" His caramel apple voice was so close.

I peek out the door a little. I almost laughed at the startled look when I suddenly popped up.

"Ah, I'm sorry," I tried to contain my laughter, "yes?"

He fixed his outfit and nodded I'm guessing to compose himself. He cleared his throat then spoke.

"Where is your mother?" He spoke fancy and precise.

My nerves became hyper aware that I was talking to someone. Someone new. I was suddenly nervous and anxious.

"Ummm busy. Why?" I spoke quickly avoiding eye contact.

"Please, do get her."

"Mom! Door!" I yelled while turning towards the kitchen.

"My names Bruce by the way," He spoke so suddenly.

I almost lost my composure and screamed. I just simply turned and waved before fiddling with my fingers nervously. She was at the door in a flash looking at Bruce.

"Why hello there," she spoke in a joyful but confused tone.

I walked away to get ready considering I was in my Pajamas consisting of a Black t-shirt with purple and green HAHA's on it, and black fuzzy pants. I quickly brushed my teeth and hair, got dressed, grabbed my backpack, and headed downstairs. I walked back to see the other family talking to my mom.

"I'm so happy to see new faces in the neighborhood. Don't ever hesitate to ask for help from us," she said excited as I was confused.

"Thank you very much. We've come from so far it's nice to have a fresh start. Well I'm glad it's peaceful over in these parts," the woman sounded so elegant.

"We're happy to have you, mister and miss?" Mom has always been so polite she's a people person.

"Just call us Martha and Thomas. Oh, is this your son?" Martha spoke so precise and high class.

"Why yes this is. Say hi, Joe."

Giving a simple wave I try to give my best smile that hopefully didn't show my nerves.

"He's a little shy," mom said in that motherly way of 'he's still learning' or something like that.

"That's okay most kids are to new people. If it's not too much to ask do you think you could take our son to the school? We got here without looking at where it was," Martha had spoken apologetically.

"I'd be happy to help and afterwards I can help you guys move in if you'd like? It'd give us time for some girl talk and to get to know each other," Mom said friendly.

"Thank you very much, Penny." Martha said holding moms hand.

They said there gratitude towards each other and walked away. The boy went over and grabbed I'm assuming his backpack which looked like a briefcase. I looked down apologetically. Mom gave a confused look and realized.

"Joe it's okay. Eventually you'll be able to talk to people and make a lot of friends. Just for now let's just make some high school memories," Mom spoke reassuringly.

I look up at her smiling. She always knows what to say.

"Thanks mom. Let's bring harley, too," I said happily.

"No can do kiddo I got my own set of wheels, boo yah!" She said with a light punch to my shoulder.

"Alright you two! Now how about after school we go out for Chinese food to celebrate your first days, huh? Would you both like that?" She said enthusiastically.

I nodded my head smiling as did harley.

"Great Chinese it is then. Means I don't have to cook, haha," she laughed grabbing her car keys as Bruce walked back our way.

Me and Bruce hopped into my moms car as she smothered Harley in hug and kisses. I heard harley whining through the window and it made me laugh a little.

"What's your name?" Bruce asked bluntly.

"I- uh. You. Me?" I jumbled over my words.

"Haha, yeah you? Unless the car has a name, haha" He spoke shyly trying to break the ice.

"My- my name is Joe. Joe Chill."

"I like your hair, it's fluffy," He spoke nicely.

I became a flustered mess. I'm actually talking to someone. I can't believe it.

"You ready kids? Because mama has a Coffee with her name on it,"she said jokingly.

Me and Bruce chuckled and we were off to school. Let's hope nothing happens to change this day.

Summary of Entire Work

So, what if the characters of Good Omens were American teenagers in the early 1990's? And Crowley was a headbanger? And closeted trans? And she and Aziraphale secretly repair their long-broken friendship? And that friendship evolves into something deeper? And Lucifer is Crowley's older brother while the Metatron is Aziraphale's?

Chapter Preview

"I brought the Walkman. You got the tape?" Bee produced a small tape player from her jacket. She unplugged the headphone wire and dropped it back into the pocket. Crowley reached into her bag, being careful to not let any of the three of them see her hands shake. Ligur’s comment had gotten to her more than she liked. If she let him know that, though, the teasing would only get worse. So, with hands steadied by sheer force of will, she pulled out a cassette. At first glance, the paper cover under the plastic case appeared to be completely black. But as she flipped it open, the subtle embossed image of a coiled snake caught the morning light. Bee pressed a button on the Walkman to open the clear door and held out her hand. Crowley slid the tape out of the case and handed it over.

“You haven’t listened to it yet?” Hastur asked over the clacking sounds of Bee loading the tape and shutting the door. Crowley rolled her eyes and shook her head.

“I swiped it from Luci’s car this morning. I haven’t had time to.” Hastur nodded his approval. The album had been out for months, but none of them had been able to get their hands on a copy of it. Bee's dad had managed to steal their neighbor's cable, though. So, they’d all spent way too many hours parked in front of her television just waiting for MTv to play the singles' videos. And when Crowley heard the album blaring from Luci’s Camaro yesterday, she knew that she’d be able to grab it before school. Her older brother was never awake before she left in the morning, and he never locked his car doors. It had been as easy as breathing to take the tape. The only difficult thing had been finding it. Luci’s glove compartment was overflowing with metal albums. As Crowley had dug through the plastic rectangles featuring images of flames and demons, she mused that when she got her own car she’d only keep Metallica in her glove compartment.

Bee hit play on the Walkman. A dark, repetitive guitar sounded out, quickly followed by driving drums. The sound was thin and tinny from the portable stereo’s little speaker. And, they had to keep it quiet so that the teacher didn’t discover them back here. But, the opening riff was still powerful enough to keep Hastur nodding his head. Ligur soon followed, then like falling dominos, Crowley and Bee were also gently headbanging to the beat of “Enter Sandman.”

Tron didn’t bother to wish Aziraphale a good day when he hopped out of the truck. Aziraphale counted himself lucky that his brother had even agreed to drive him to school this year. But, he knew it was only because his mother had ordered it as a condition for buying him the F-150. It most certainly was not because of some sort of familial affection. Tron was class president, debate team leader, and on track for law school after graduation. His dreams culminated at the White House. He did not have time to hang around with a younger brother who always seemed to have his nose buried in some ridiculous paperback novel.

Aziraphale sighed and returned his copy of Courting Catherine to his bag before opening the passenger door. He grabbed the backpack and his trumpet case. He needed to drop off his instrument in the band hall's cubby room before first period, so he set off across the parking lot. Tron had parked in the very far corner, where he and his friends usually gathered before class. That meant that Aziraphale had a clear view of the band hall’s back wall as he made his way onto campus. He didn’t pay much attention to the little group clumped up out of sight of the courtyard. That is, until his eyes caught a flash of red.

Crowley. Aziraphale's breath hitched in his chest, and his feet stopped. Crowley had changed so much since they had last talked. Gone were the mop of floppy curls and easy smile. Instead, dark glasses hid a guarded expression. A long fall of fiery waves contrasted with the faded black jacket and gray scarf he wore against the cold. Aziraphale had watched the transformation from a distance over the past few years, and it had caused a dull ache to bloom in his chest whenever he thought about it.

Aziraphale was caught by a sudden urge to walk over to his old friend. His feet started to move again, making a crunching sound on some loose gravel near the edge of the parking lot. Crowley must have heard because his head stopped nodding, and he slipped his hair behind his ear to be able to see in Aziraphale's direction.

Aziraphale didn't realize he'd waved until his hand was already in the air. His breath started again with a quick intake, and he felt a smile on his face. For a second he thought his silent greeting might be returned. But he must have been mistaken. If he had really seen a look of pleased surprise, it quickly disappeared. He couldn't make out Crowley's eyes behind the glasses, but the meaning of the small shake of Crowley's head was clear. Aziraphale shouldn't say anything like a hello. He shouldn’t join the group behind the band hall. He was not welcome there.

-ok. so just from yutos like exposition of saying he knows of kaito and his expression is different now (and us seein a flashback to a smiley happy kaito…) …and the lack of orbital and his photon form and the fact he was going to be a duel champion…haruto never got sick in this au version did he? which means faker wouldnt have had to shove tron/kazuma into the barian/astral portal thingy, and faker wouldnt have made a deal w vector or made kaito a numbers hunter? so he could focus on his own goals and live a more normal life I guess? so..does that mean yuma and astral NEVER MET?? DO THEY EVEN EXIST IN THIS WORLD. SAD. like even in a world that seemed to be kinder to kaito by not making his dad such a dick or his bro sick, he still got fucked over by a WAR in the end which is worse than what happened in zexal akjsfkjhn. well. at least this kaito hasnt taken the Moon Trip.

-ohhh my gosh yuto, shun, and ruri in casual clothes hangin out and watching kaito duel (also, this heartland has duel schools! named after card suites! thats fun) shun and kaito must be the same age, right? …so I assume the flashback is when they were 17ish and kaito is 18 now like in zexal? so the attack on heartland took place over the course of a few months to a year (ongoing it seems like but only to get stragglers now…oof) I thought shun, ruri and yuto were all the sameish age but nope. knowing yuzu and yuya are 14 makes me think all the counterparts are the same, so its probably pretty likely all three went to normal (non dueling) school together AND then duel school together, but yuto and ruri are prob in the same age so they mightve been friends first from going to the same school, and ruri later introduced yuto to her brother? so they have a cute lil trio now…this is my headcanon. (it rly does seem like all the yuboys and bracelet girlies were bffs from young ages EXCEPT serena and yuri jkdshfk)

-also can I assume at least SOME of the original characters from zexal are in this universe if not yuma for whatever reason (and prob not any of the barians?) like. would kotori have been goin to school and been in the grade right under yuto/ruri? …I want ruri and her to be bird friends

-the ED is still a dsod commercial booo let me see the ed animation! I had to go look it up on youtube. and its prob my least fav so far sadjfhkj its nice looking but so Plain compared to the others..the song is nice?

-oh my god kaito said he dueled yuto countless times and yet it took him halfway into the duel to realize yuya looked like him. kaito faceblind like me confirmed? also I like how kaito didnt beat yuya SUper fast like jack did the first time lol, makes me think yuyas getting a lot stronger gradually which is fun!

-yuto during the kaito stuff started speaking to yuya? he literally has not regularly done that at all up until this point. was..he able to do that all along and just Never did?? lmao?? not even to pass along messages to his bestie shun??? nope, kaito is Thee Important Guy to talk to yuya abt I Guess haha. good to see him again. also still good that yuya is not Questioning Why yuto is Tagging along inside of him or why that happened in the first place. lol

Backstory:

Sam had a rough upbringing even before his father went missing. Kevin was almost never home, and after Jordan died, things seemed to only go downhill from there. Sam was raised mainly by his grandparents, but Alan Bradley - who he called 'Uncle Alan' - often came over to help with homework and his frequent nightmares.

After Sam's father went missing, Sam turned to rebellion as a coping mechanism. He picked fights in school, skipped classes, and often ran away to try and find his father.

When his grandparents died, Alan was the one to take care of him until he was ready to live on his own. Though Alan's encouragement to take over the company only seemed to make things worse, putting more pressure on Sam to uphold his father's legacy. He soon went into therapy to try and help himself cope with the loss of his family, and Marv - his recently rescued dog - became an emotional support animal upon recommendation from his therapist.

Catching onto the Flynn Lives movement, Sam started an annual prank on ENCOM on the anniversary of his father's disappearance. Alan caught on and confronted him about it, but Sam always pushed him away.

Whether Sam has been through the movie Tron: Legacy's events or not depends on the thread.

Headcanons:

My personal headcanon is mainly pertaining to Sam being transgender. It doesn't change much to the narrative at all, it's just a neat thing.

3. what fandom do you primarily favour? this one's easy! apex! my interests expand beyond apex obviously but i'll be the first to admit i have zero AUs for my lil man and i'm not sure about the reason for this. i think a lot of it is simply memory issues and not being able to remember enough lore details to feel secure in my interpretations ... that being said, if i made any AUs, they'd probably include tron, borderlands, the elder scrolls, and fallout. maybe dead by daylight but octane would just be frank legion anyway so idk. i also thought about an overwatch AU once but then blizzard stopped caring about the lore and so did i LOL

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines

I feel like the possibilities are limitless to be honest. I've only explored a handful with my writing and those ones are only really if he ends up in 'my' hc universe in the first place so let's stick with *some* of those.

Spoiler warning for this pic:

The whole Matt taking over the Syndicate AU is more complicated than I had to write it but is basically: A world where Casey and Pierce actually listen to Kinzie and don't steal the tank. The Deckers keep the learning computer. One-upping the Saints goes straight to Matt's ego (which we already know is overinflated) and he uses the sheer amount of Deckers at his disposal to capture Killbane and put him in the simulation. With Killbane's brain fried (and possibly subsequently being beat to death with a keyboard by an angry teenager) Matt is pretty much the only one left to take over the Syndicate, so they begrudgingly accept his leadership.

He then pulls a similar trick on Casey, managing to kidnap her and force her into the simulation without Kinzie's help. He was still essentially feeling threatened by the Saints though so he still made a deal with her, but he had much greater leverage as the one in control of the situation. They each agreed to take half of Steelport.

She still becomes President but they remain fierce rivals. But when he's a little older and learned a few things about her he finds his ways of attracting her attention.

“Oh please, messing with Stilwater? I might as well shine a giant fleur-de-lis into the sky.”

They meet in private on multiple occasions. He insists she get rid of her backup. She insists he cuts his surveillance. I can't be held responsible for what happens after that. Because while I technically wrote this AU... I also wrote that they wrote this AU.

22. People who’ve influenced them greatly

Everyone involved in the making of Tron: Legacy, all the members of Simple Plan (O maintain everyone has a gateway pop punk band, mine was Bowling For Soup btw) everyone involved in the making of Nyte Blayde. 🤣

For real people though, it would be: His mum. Seems a given but like... the whole fact he grows up to be sweet and sensitive underneath it all comes from her, the fact that he can cook and clean and all that shit comes from her. Equally she spoiled him more than his dad did. I feel like he has this huge but ultimately very fragile ego because his parents were so overly supportive, whereas his secretly very insecure side comes more from his reactions from his peers.

Speaking of which, he was incredibly unpopular throughout primary and secondary school but the first time he really found friends was when he hit sixth form college (usually started at 16 but he was 14 having skipped two years). There was this area of college where all the alt people hang out and he just sort of wandered in there one day and all these 16/17/18 year old goths thought he was kind of adorable especially since he was probably already wearing a Nyte Blayde t-shirt by then so they became his friends. They took him to Camden and when he saw the neon lights of Cyber Dog (bearing in mind he had already been through his Tron obsession and spent his preteens in Trocadero) his whole cyber goth aesthetic was basically formed. This probably branched him out into using the internet more and learning leet speak and stuff which I always maintain he's a little young for, as well as being able to gain followers to build the Deckers a year later.

All the other Syndicate leaders heavily influenced him too as he was so young when he came across them. Philipe recruited him and brought him to the US in the first place, Viola and Kiki were the first people who took that older sibling role for him, and Killbane basically terrified him but in a way that really brought him down to size and reminded him he was essentially just a child.

Out of the Saints the two that most influenced him are Casey and Johnny. The bond between Johnny and Matt is everything to me. I mean I've written about it before but the essence is that Johnny is a pretty good big brother figure for Matt but honestly he's practically old enough to be Matt's dad so there are shades of that as well. Matt's own dad was a lot older than him so Johnny fills some of those gaps, is too confident in his masculinity and his own un-nerdiness to really make fun of Matt, and perhaps influences him to be a little braver and a little more sociable. Trains him at the gym, with a gun, with that sword Matt didn't *really* know how to use despite his whole gang having them. And the fact that when Matt gets his fleur-de-lis tattoo Johnny's the one who's with him, holding his hand when he cries is the perfect symbolism for how Johnny helps shape him into a true Saint.

Leaving aside the romantic aspects of his and Casey's relationship here, just as a leader and a friend she's influenced him heavily. The way she let him walk away with his life in exchange for keeping his promise was his drip feed into becoming incredibly loyal to her, and indeed, observing the way she rules with loyalty and friendship rather than fear like Killbane is what allows him to become a viable lieutenant. After she first calls him Matty he admits no-one's called him that since Killbane. She says she won't use it again but he says he likes it. "It’s... kind of curative. You’re like the anti-Killbane.”.

In terms of their friendship, having someone to enjoy what he's passionate about with is a major thing that he's not really had in years. She's a very mirror-type person too. When he snaps at her (in the early weeks on the ship) she snaps back. When he teases her, she teases back, much like more or less all of the Saints with each other. But he's the only one who quickly picks up that if he's sweet to her, she can be sweet back.

That unlocks a side of her I doubt even she knew she had, but with how sincere it makes her with him, it stops him being scared and weak and useless anymore. Because she's scared and weak and useless when it comes to tech and cooking and being affectionate.

Matt's good at those things. It makes him realise that maybe, in a way... he's strong too.

Day 31 of posting my AU headcanons until Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 comes out:

It’s Disney movie night and everyone gets to watch whatever they want.

Huggy’s favorite movie is Cars. He loves to watch Lighting McQueen cuz that’s his favorite character (thanks to the memes).

Kissy and Mommy Long Legs loves any Disney Princess movie. They would gossip about how they would want their dresses.

Bron likes the movie The Jungle Book (The cartoon one).

Boogie Bot enjoys the Tron movies.

Candy Cat and CatBee love watching The Lion King (cuz they’re all cats lol).

Bunzo and PJ like to watch the Pixar movies better.

Daddy Long Legs like the old school ones that are musicals since he came from a musical family.

Baby Long Legs likes the ones made for little kids (like Winnie the Pooh).

Sister Long Legs leans towards the Disney movies that were in Disney Channel at one point (like Halloween Town or Hocus Pocus).

Freddy is old school but as long everyone is happy he’s here to sit and relax with them.

Bonnie and Chica love the musical ones cuz they have the urge to not sing the songs (they never stopped singing “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” for three weeks).

Foxy likes the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (of course).

Goldie doesn’t really care for Disney movies that much but he’ll be happy to sit and watch whatever movie they would put on.

And Woody, Buzz and the rest of the toys love the Pixar loves as well (the irony).

Prompt: the discreet gentleman's club

Summary: Thanks to a new friend, Aziraphale learns something about himself at the local skating rink. Rated Teen.

Aziraphale loved the skating rink. There was something exciting about the thrum of the music in his chest, the clack and rumble of the wheels vibrating up through his legs, the hubbub of voices and laughter from the other skaters. He even liked the food. Ms. Tracy, the owner’s wife, ran a little counter with pre-prepared and packaged snacks. Along with wistful stories about the bygone glory days of roller disco, she would dole out cheap hot dogs wrapped in foiled paper and stored in a heated display case until the chili or mustard had melted into the steamed bun. Or, she’d use a set of long-handled tongs to fish one of the tangy green pickles out of the giant glass jar that sat next to the cash register. And the off-brand root beer she served in thin paper cups was so sweet it made Aziraphale’s cheeks hurt. The food that he bought here was so different from anything he’d ever been offered at home. This was fare that fed not only his body, but also his soul.

He didn’t even mind that Tron insisted on dropping him off at the nearby gas station. The Dollar Skate definitely wasn’t a place where his brother would show his face. But the short walk, even in cold weather, was worth the three or four hours of freedom Aziraphale managed to grab for himself every Saturday evening. Most of the popular kids from his school spent their weekends at the bowling alley on the other end of town. Instead, the rink was overwhelmingly frequented by the county school students. Underneath the twirling sparkles thrown off by an elderly disco ball, boys in Wrangler jeans and brightly patterned button-ups glided alongside girls sporting long hair and cropped denim vests.

At least, that’s what it usually looked like. This afternoon, the only girl at the rink was Greta. She was perched on a bench near the little snack counter. She balanced a tiny paper plate on a knee and poked at the remains of a piece of cake with a plastic fork. Greta looked as bored as a fourteen year old girl who was forced to be at her older brother’s birthday party could possibly be. 

Tim, the birthday brother in question, was a relatively new addition to the roller rink regulars. Aziraphale remembered the first time they’d met. Tim had rolled right up, stuck out his hand, and introduced himself. He had a bright voice laced with an accent Aziraphale couldn’t quite place. It was faster than what he was used to, and had a twang that sounded like something out of an old Hollywood western.

"Hi! I'm Tim Brown. New in town. My dad just bought the furniture and carpet emporium out on the interstate? I don't think I've seen you around school. You in 4-H?" Aziraphale had shook the other boy's hand on instinct. The manners drilled into him by his mother had taken over while his brain processed the information Tim had just thrown at him.

"Um, hello. Nice to meet you. I'm Aziraphale Mightey. I go to Westend. And, no?" Tim had continued to pump Aziraphale's hand, and his expression changed to one of impressed surprise.

"A Duck, huh? And you're here? I thought the Westenders stuck to the bowling alley.” Tim’s eyebrows had lifted up. His smile had switched to a teasing conspiratorial grin, as if he’d expected Aziraphale to confess to some great secret behind his reason for being at the rink.

Aziraphale had managed to extricate his hand from Tim’s enthusiastic grip and had wiped his now-sweaty palm along the side seam of his pants.

“I guess I just like skating more than bowling?” Aziraphale hadn’t been exactly sure how to react to this level of cheerful directness. He had gotten to know a few of the other kids here that were around his age, but none of them were quite this … politely intense?

“Well, since it means you and I get to be friends, I guess I’ll let it slide. And hey, maybe I’ll change your mind about 4-H?” Just as Aziraphale had been about to explain that he had no interest in an agriculture-focused after school program, the music from the sound system had changed. The sweet harmonies of “Love Can Build a Bridge” had started and the lights on the floor had dimmed. A red spotlight had caught the disco ball, adding the color to the white sparkles. The night’s designated couples skate had just begun.

Tim had glanced out at the people starting to split off into pairs of a boy and girl each, hands on shoulders or hips as they skated together to the romantic song. But his gaze had quickly returned to Aziraphale.

“You, uh, got someone here to dance with tonight?” Aziraphale hadn’t been expecting that kind of question from his new acquaintance, and was shaking his head almost before he registered it. Tim’s smile had softened a bit, and he glanced down at his feet. He’d gently tapped the floor with the rubber stopper on the front of a skate. “Yeah, me neither. Too bad we can’t …” Tim hadn’t gotten a chance to finish his thought, though. A girl had skated up, slightly shorter and a little younger than either of the two boys.

Tenth Anniversary recap

So, as my little celebration of the Ninjago 10 Year Anniversary, here’s a little recap of every single season, including the pilots and a few bonuses. I also added totally arbitrary scoring based on my own preferences. Ready? Here we go!

The Pilots:

Local man joins gang to save sister, gains awesome powers and dragons along the way. Featuring the Wise Old Mentor(C) and Generic Evil Overlord(C), as well as FIYAH, the main character with a firey temper, AT-AT, blue guy with motor mouth, Frosty, local “real boy” who is super aloof, and Bucket of Rocks, who is the “leader” and has a personality like a rock. Is that a compliment? You decide!

Choppy animation and okay storytelling, but excellent characterization creates a surefire laugh fest!

Season 1: Rise of the Snakes

Ninja team angers young and bratty boy, who unleashes snake army. Prophecy threatens to tear the team apart at the seams with contests to prove who is better. Winner ends up being FIYAH’s sister, but instead of becoming The Chosen One(C), young and bratty boy (henceforth known as Green Angst) gets the title. 

Animation is slightly better, and the storytelling style leads to an okay season.

3/13, Room for improvement.

Season 2: Legacy of the Green Ninja

Green Angst gains superpowers, ages up, and beats up his dad, who has become possessed with evil. Plot of Return of the Jedi ensues, dad is good, and everything wraps up. 

Thinking this was going to be the last season, the showrunners pulled out all the stops, and it shows. Good job!

5/13, This makes a good ending.

Season 3: Rebooted

Series tries to pick up where they left off. Unnecessary love triangles and robot battles ensue. Frosty dies, totally for realsies. 

The whole atmosphere feels a bit rushed, and about half of the story is there for unneeded drama.

1/13, did not age well.

Season 4: Tournament of Elements

In stunning turn of events, Frosty is not dead. Ninja must battle in hunger games in order for Colonel Sanders to release him. FIYAH develops a crush on his daughter. 

A fun season with quippy writing and tons of lore, it works really well!

8/13, this season ages wonderfully.

Season 5: Possession

Ghosts are a thing now! Green Angst gets possessed, and so the ninja must learn ghost fighting to fight ghosts. Also, FIYAH’s sister (From now on called Water Girl) gains water powers. 

While a neat story concept, the fact that Water Girl has only NOW been told about her powers kinda starts to weaken the story for me.

4/13, could do better.

Oh, and Bucket of Rocks is a ghost now. But the writers don’t care, so lets move on.

Season 6: Skybound

AT-AT gets a season, where he had to battle a genie pirate while Water Girl tries to be a Strong Independent Woman(C) despite the love triangle fiasco. Season ends up retconning itself out of existence. 

While a good season pre-redesign, some of the story choices cause it to feel a bit drawn out in hindsight.

6/13, a fun season concept.

Day of the Departed:

Bucket of Rocks cant catch enough of a break to get a season, gets Halloween-ish special instead. In it, he becomes No Longer A Ghost. Hooray for... writing? 

There’s not much to say about this one, it is what it is, and for a while, this was the only content we got centered around good ol Bucket of Rocks.

Season 7: Hands of Time

Angst! Drama! Time Travel! Technology jokes! Old Mentor is dying from Too Many Secrets, so Green Angst must lead team. FIYAH and Water Girl find their parents. I bet that’ll be important later!

The story feels choppy, and leaves a lot of threads hanging. It’s still fun, but less so that what came before and what comes after.

2/13: Guys, you had one job.

Season 8: Sons of Garmadon

The ninja get a facelift, and Green Angst gets a girlfriend! Guess which one is permanent. Evil Ex summons Evil Overlord(C) 2.0, causing Green Angst to loose Green and gain Angst.

The animation bump is stellar, the new voice actor for Green Angst really shines, and the story, while not new by any stretch, is filled with plenty of twists and turns.

9/13, Stellar Season.

Season 9: Hunted

The OG 4 in Mad Max on one hand, while Green Angst and Water Girl resist against tyrannical overbearing ruler on the other. Now with even more daddy issues, inspiring speeches, and of course, ANGST.

The storytelling and atmosphere increases in quality, and the show does a good job of balancing angst and hope. Also, then end is really cool. 

12/13, Great Atmosphere.

Season 10/March of the Oni

Everyone teams up to stop faceless CGI army! Wait, does that count if everything is CGI?

There’s not much to say on this one either. It feels both too short and too fast, and many of the story beats don’t hit like they should.

Season 11 pt 1: The Fire Chapter

Local team gets lazy, unleashes witch, FIYAH looses fire, Frosty dies again. OR DOES HE!?

Even better animation, and the voice actors are really having fun for this season onwards. It’s one of the weakest of the newer seasons, but the shorter episode time helps every episode pack a punch.\

7/13, Would recommend as a starter season.

Season 11 pt 2: The Ice Chapter

Frosty becomes Frostbite and commits genocide. Is redeemed by power of friendship and amnesia. Let’s move on.

Character development, great moments, and thought provoking storytelling!? This season has all that AND a good grasp on the aesthetic!

10/13, Please forgive Frosty. He didn’t mean it.

Season 12: Prime Empire

AT-AT gets his own season again, enacts plot of Tron Legacy, but better! Also, Frosty becomes a detective.

The obligitory videogame plot is done really well. Lots of fun is poked at videogame mechanics and it makes for a quippy and fast paced season. Just like AT-AT! 

11/13, videogame movie(?) done right. 

Season 13: Master of the Mountain

Bucket of Rocks finally gains own season, proves that he is the best character. Gains a best friend and beats her dad in combat. 

Beautiful set pieces, awesome character development, lore, jokes, and heartfelt moments, I consider this to be the single best season of the newer ones, and possibly even the whole show. 

13/13, amazing season

The Lego Ninjago movie:

Kung Fu High School AU with a dash of Star Wars. Different from the series? Sure. Super fun? Absolutely!

The mad laughter rung out into the night sky as the purple Lamborghini hit corners with violently sharp turns. "Oh puddin I just love family night!~" The pale platinum blonde giggled as the man with green dyed hair licked his smiling lips. A bubble of laughter came from the back seat he turned around to see his princess looking out the small back window. "Batsy batsy batsy" Her low/high pitched giggle caused a crazy chain reaction as the bat mobile hurried to catch up. "Always ruining our fun,huh,princess?" The clown king shifted his gray-ish blue order into the mirror grinning making the scars on his face raise into a sinister smile at the look of pure chaos in his daughter's e/c eyes. "Not tonight! Not on my birthday!!" She said as she smiled reaching under the seat to pull out a Tommy gun. Climbing to the front seat sitting on her mothers lap she leaned out the passenger window. "Go back to the Rat cave your not gonna put a downer on my weekend!" Y/n yelled shooting off round towards the tires,windshield,and headlights.

The mobile didn't seem to have a scratch as as a motorcycle pulled up beside it. Slipping back in the car the younger women pouted looking at get parents. "He called his little birdie no doubt the replacements in the car." Y/n huffed as she dug around for more fire power. "Puddin we have a visitor.~" The red mask gazed at us as he lifted a forearm pistol. Shots were fired and Joker took a hard right almost like tron the motorcycle quickly turned into a ally to avoid being hit. "Sorry Princess might have to cut tonight shot." He said licking his lips as a thump came from the roof making the youngest clown snarl her eye crazed as she shot above her as the purple car swerved wildly. "YOU'RE RUINING MY BIRTHDAY,BATS!!!" Y/n cackled madly a mixture of her parents laughed till the magazine ran out.

They got to one of their warehouses where Jokers men were armed to the teeth. The clown mask had black soulless eyes and immediately fired the moment the batmobile entered. Y/n skipped out of the purple Lamborghini she got on her tippy toes and kissed her dad on the cheek. "I got the hooded punk. Can you clip the bats wings for me...a little present?!" He laughed as he armed himself with a shotgun. "Anything for my princess." The f/c sf/c female clown skipped away knowing that the motorcycle riding vigilante was hot on her tail. That's how she found herself on the roof tops jumping the gaps as heavy footfalls followed. Her loud laugh echoed as she leaped to a smaller building hiding behind a vent the moment the brown leather jacket came into view she tackled the tall man. They were both panting as a grin pulled on the clowns lips.

"Caught ya,Jay bird." I giggled pulling of the helmet his apple green eyes covered by a second mask stared at me he chuckled as his hand slipped above his head in mock surrender. "Yeah you caught me,beautiful." Leaning down I kiss him my hands pushed into his cheeks my thumb running over the scarred J. We've been dating for awhile now ever since dad kidnapped the second Robin at seventeen. I was fifteen at the time and dad had me at his side as he tortured him.I was always there to stitched him up and put burn cream after shock therapy I didn't know how we got attached maybe because he wanted to rebel a little by talking to me or someone around his age saw the same if not worse shit.

Six years ago(Y/n 15 Jason 17)

"Why are you helping me?" Looking up his head was strapped down along with his arms and legs. I shrugged my shoulders I knew who he was if I wiped off the make up and temp dyed my hair I was the honor student in the same class as him. Jason Todd anyone with eyes had a thing for him,but after removing his mask it wasn't hard to piece together who the bat fam is. "I know what my dad has planned for you Jay. This is just a band-aid on a gunshot wound and might I say that's very unhelpful." This was the first I spoke to him and it wasn't long before Dad beat him to death.

Two years later.

I sat in the back of the car as Frost drove. We just left the cemetery. "Why are we doing this,n/n." He asked looking in the rear view mirror at me. I'm seventeen now my thoughts screamed at me. Why was I trying to bring him back? "Because I crazy that why!" I giggled as we grew closer to the lazapit. He was dressed in a black suit with red tie his body sunk into the water as I waited. A loud gasp drew my attention as he shot up a white streak in his hair. "Heya sleeping beauty." Looking over in shock he lowly made his way looking like a baby deer. "I'm alive,but h-how?" His green eyes looked at me. "A Ghoul owed me a few favors I just asked to use his fountain of youth." Handing him a towel and some clothes. "Sorry about the outfit,but Arkham does have one size fits all." Jason chuckled as he started to dry off.I realized why I brought him back. I was crazy about him.

Two more years later(two years ago)

Jason wanted to stay dead he didn't go back to His dad and brother after he realized that neither of them tried and save him. It was sad to see,but it brought Jason closer to me and he started to trust me and I gave trust in return. Blood coated my hands while some was on my face. Looking at Jay some was speckled on his cheeks taking the pockets square out of the mobsters coat I wiped it off he looked down at me his arm slipped around my waist pulling me closer my breath hicked. "Will you be my girlfriend,my little jester?" A large smile grew on my face as my arms went around his neck pulling him down further. "Gladly,Jay bird." I kissed him not caring if my lipstick stained his lips and he didn't seem to care either as the kiss grew more intense. We shared our first kiss at nineteen surrounded by dead bodies as sirens and the unmistakable sound of the armed batmobile. At least he's as crazy about me as I am about him.

One year ago. (Jason POV for a sec)

I came to Bruce I hate to admit it but I needed advice about the one think he knew best. Women. It was just a couple of months ago he found out I was alive and shocker he managed to drive Dicky boy to Blüdhaven to get away from him to get his own image and not just Robin. Oh and surprise surprise when out of robins he had a spare like a tire and it's name was Tim. Nevermind that I stood across from Bruce in his home main office he had a frown on his face. "You're dating someone and its serious and I didn't know about it?" He asked trying to deduct everything. "I've been dating her ever since I came back. As strange as it might sound,but I want us to be something more." That's when the billionaire playboy stood up standing just a inch shorter then myself.

"Life is short Jason and you've experienced that first hand if you feel that both of you are perfect enough to be more then go for it." Perfect wasn't realistic nothing was ever perfect my life isn't perfect her life sure as hell isn't she's the clown princess I'm a bat son. Maybe that what makes us so good together the fact that it would have never really happened any other way life is just crazy like that.

Staring into those vexing green eyes always brought me back. We're both twenty-one him being older only by a couple of months. "Happy birthday,gorgeous." His voice brought me back as my smile grew. We were standing up now he held a box wrapped in my two favorite colors. "Awe you shouldn't have." I grab it and opened it a gun was inside it was red and gold revolver it looked like my moms love/hate gun,but it said King/Queen. Looking at Jay I reached to hug him when suddenly he dropped to one knee pulling out a box with a beautiful f/c ring and ruby gem. "This feels over due. My eyes glossed over with tears my make up running down the pale foundation. "Oh my god of course!!!" I jumped into his arms hugging him tightly before letting him slip on the ring. "I love you." "I love you more crazy." I chuckle it sounded watery in my throat. "If I'm crazy then that makes two of us. You wanted to marry me." Yep we're both batshit crazy.

Not only do you get Tony, Rhodey, and Pepper action, but also secret identity Tony Stark! High school AU! Adventure and villian of the week!

And for those of us who pirated it before, the second season is finally watchable (unless you were like me and bought all the DVDs because you couldn't stand how bad s2 looked)! Like, no audio glitches, no visual glitches, no lag!

I don't hold hope for a s3 (Tron Uprising has all my hopes), but maybe with more traction, we can get more Iron Man/Tony Stark content that isn't MCU. Just..I cannot recommend this show enough, it's just a fun time. Yeah, maybe I'm a little nostalgic since I watched this air on Disney XD back in the day, but still. This show was my first love of Tony Stark and Iron Man. And I hope y'all can love it too.

So I had an ML dream

It was about my Miraculous initiative au. So if you need (context)

-Ladybug and Chat noir’s suits were more tron like. Like sleek, but not spandex. It was pretty cool. (Both had more padding)

-Ladybug and Chat noir’s eye masks had a variety of visions. X-ray, inferred, Night vision. 

-Also their weapon was moldable. Like it starts out like a white sphere and transformed into the item they wanted. Chat noir’s turned into two fencing foils. Ladybug’s turned into a large needle connected to thread. (which I thought was weird, but worked really cool.

- Ladybug could stick to walls, and she could manifest wings at will. It was cool.

-Chat noir could be sent flying but always landed on his feet.

-They were fighting Stoneheart and they were kicking a ton of butt.

-Professor silver was having the suits analyze the monster, discovering that it was magical in nature.

-”I hate dealing with magic.” Professor Silver grumbled. “But... Of course that doesn't mean I wasn't prepared.”

-Professor silver instructs the two to find the source of the monster’s power and  activate Purification Protocol.

-They break the item, and the akuma flies out.

-Ladybug activates the protocol, and her weapon shifts into a net for her to catch the butterfly. It closes and it scans the akuma.

-”Analysis complete, activating countermeasure.” Professor silver presses a button and the akuma’s dark magic is removed.

- (All of the individuals impacted by the akuma were freed)

-Ladybug and Chat noir fist bump. (classic)

-And Chat noir comments on how to fix the damage done to the city.

-”Don't worry about the clean up kids. You just go back to school.”

-The Professor reveals a massive minibot swarm that goes around and reconstructs damaged  parts of the city. (much like miraculous ladybug does, but less magical)

-Then on a rooftop, a figure in a trench coat and his face hidden. He has one of the bots in his hands

-”So, they are in the hero business now. Aren't we bold Silver.”

-He crushes the bot in his metallic gold hand.

-”You should set a better standard.”
