In the shadowy depths of ancient troll culture lies a powerful and often misunderstood practice known as spirit-binding. This sacred rite is said to imprison the lingering spirit of a fallen enemy, preventing it from returning to wreak havoc or pursue vengeance. Troll Witch Doctors believe the soul lingers briefly after death—especially near the head—before passing on, and spirit-binding ensures it cannot wander freely.

The ritual begins after battle, conducted with solemn care and deep reverence. The head of the defeated is treated through a series of traditional steps: its interior is hollowed, and the outer form is preserved using time-honored methods that involve heat and natural materials like stones and sand. This transformation turns it into a vessel���a physical anchor for the bound spirit.

The final act is symbolic and deeply magical. With thread and ritual markings, the eyes, mouth, and neck are sealed—closing all paths for the spirit’s escape. To the trolls who perform it, this act isn’t just preservation; it’s protection. It is a message to the spirit world: there will be no return.

Though the practice is controversial within the Horde—many seeing it as a relic of a more brutal era—others uphold it as a vital safeguard against spiritual threats. Some even elevate these preserved forms into ceremonial totems, adorned with materials from nature and shaped into symbols of magical power and personal triumph.

So, I think I've figured out why, out of all the powerful demons in Hell, Vox is SO focused on Alastor.

It's because he needs a nemesis from a time before water guns were mass produced and widely known about, who also hasn't bothered keeping up with the times. Otherwise, it would be over in seconds.

Like, any 90's kid would take one look at Vox's head and just go "Alright, imma go grab my super soaker."

Who's Jackie ex partner?

That'd be a man named Gunther.

Jackie is a fake changeling, she uses a modified glamor mask to pretend to be human, it was a rough road but she figured it all out. However, she began to date a man, and long story short he was an obsessive and insane person, and tried to kill her so no one else could have her, that's how she found out Gunther was a real changeling.

He's been hunting her ever since, trying to catch her in public or private. I have a headcanon that trolls born with firey, copper colored hair are called Firemanes, and they're considered very rare and very powerful within magical standards as they were hunted given the magical properties of their bodies. Gunther knows this, he knows how rare they are, and because of it he's obsessed with catching her so he can keep her all to himself. It's definitely not pretty.

Had a silly dream where JD and Floyd came back to the troll tree before the last trollstice but after singing killed their grandma and decided to doodle and expand upon it a bit

Clay never left the tree but was too scared to return to the families pod since he didn’t want things to go back to how they were before, he did try to find his brothers during the escape but got separated by the cave in.

John Dory was the one to find Clay and see him get caught by the cave in, when he came out of the tunnel without Clay and holding his wristband they all just assumed he was dead. Even so JD still searches for Clay with the hope that he might’ve escaped and is alive out there.

They know Bruce is alive but after JD got the post card he assumed Bruce didn’t want to be found

Forest Trolls

Forest trolls are one of the most fierce and enduring troll subgroups in Azeroth’s rich history. Originating from the dense northern woodlands of Lordaeron, they were once rulers of the mighty Amani Empire, with their capital in the ancient city of Zul’Aman. Their legacy is one of conflict, resilience, and a long-standing rivalry with the high elves and humans who once shattered their dominance.

Physically, forest trolls are tall, agile, and powerful. Their moss-covered green skin, a result of a unique biological connection with plant life, gives them a natural camouflage within their woodland homes. This trait not only defines their appearance but reflects their deep-rooted bond with nature.

Over time, the once-unified forest trolls splintered into various tribes, each with its own beliefs and paths. The Amani tribe, led in the past by the legendary Zul’jin, remains fiercely determined to restore its lost glory. Other tribes, like the Vilebranch, Witherbark, and Shadowpine, continue to operate in the Hinterlands and surrounding areas. Some, like the Mossflayer, have experienced dark transformations due to magical corruption and war.

Among them, the Revantusk tribe stands out as the only group to have formed a cautious alliance with the modern Horde. However, many forest trolls remain distrustful of outsiders, due to past conflicts.

Culturally, forest trolls are deeply spiritual, practicing ancient forms of voodoo and Loa worship. Their lands are marked by carved stone totems and ceremonial masks, representing their reverence for the spirits and their history. While their traditions can be intense and mysterious, they remain a vital part of troll identity.

Though divided, the forest trolls are far from forgotten. Their strength, cunning, and connection to the wild continue to shape their place in Azeroth’s evolving story. Whether encountered as allies or adversaries, they are a people who embody the unyielding will of the forest itself.
