New graphics, who 'dis? - Goblin edition
Last installment with all my Goblin kids, they are the nest batch in my altaholic addiction and overall the new graphics are I think going to treat them well. I've also found after talking to several friends that the 'crystal' default setting in the creator isn't kind to ANYONE.
New on the left, old on the right.
L'devah Fhey - looks the same, if only a bit older.
Tumblr media
Troy Maerten - I LOVE IT. He actually looks more like the half elezen that he's supposed to be.
Tumblr media
Duq Tribeless - All my dark skinned kids are looking SO MUCH BETTER.
Tumblr media
Edelweiss Journey - She looks good, the same. Won't really need any changes.
Tumblr media
Clematis Journey - Edel's sibling. I've never gotten him to look the way I want him to, until now. He might need some tweaking just to see what the options look like but otherwise yaaay.
Tumblr media
Blu Dalmasca - I think the crystal lighting just isn't nice to him here. I'll have to see if he needs any changes under different lighting.
Tumblr media
Garaav Nioremont - Overall I like it. some small changes might be needed but it will take getting him into the actual game to see.
Tumblr media
Blilly Lee Black - He's one I could never get to look right, but also the only character not a complete OC. Difficult with someone based on a character from another game, but I think he might actually finally look the way I want him to be with the new graphics. Also even as accurate as this hair is.... I think it needs to change, all I can think of when I see it is fucking Asahi...

“the eternal wanderer. even death cannot release it from its plight.”
tribeless
1 power - 1 health - 7 bones
unkillable - when a card bearing this sigil perishes, a copy of it is created in your hand.
corpse eater - if a creature that you own perishes by combat, a card bearing this sigil in your hand is automatically played in its place.
brittle - after attacking, a card bearing this sigil perishes.
hidden trait - cursebearer
this card cannot be sacrificed at the sigil stones event.
finally posting my isatscryption stuff here!!! yipee!!! here’s a writeup about the card design because frankly i put wayy too much thought into all of these cards. sorry if these are a bit hard to parse!
unkillable and corpse eater effectively make sif immortal, since every time he dies, he’ll be placed back on the board! and i thought that was fitting for. y’know. timeloop reasons. brittle is only there to emphasize the whole constantly dying thing. because is it really isat without siffrin torment
also didn’t notice this until after i designed this card, but the brittle sigil art has a star on it??? not intentional in the slightest but it is Fitting
sif is a fox here! i know that that would technically put them in the canine tribe, but i felt it’d be more fitting for them to be tribeless? and base game inscryption already kinda bends the rules when it comes to tribes (such as the bullfrog being a reptile and the rabbit being treated internally as a rodent) so i think it still works
i’m well aware that card traits don’t actually have cool names or anything but i still want to give them cool names because it’s fun. anyways! cursebearer! i gave them this trait both because these sigils are extremely overpowered, and for lore reasons. sif sees their sigils as a curse! they don’t want to force them on anyone else!! it’s their burden to bear!!!
tangentially related to that last point, but sif is a talking card in this au! because it’s fun :3. and because i think it’d be really interesting to see how he’d react to the cabin
sif’s scar is covered by the hat a bit but it’s Star Shaped. and so is the eye shine teehee
this was the first card i made and Boy Does It Show. i had the WORST time trying to get the card generators to work for this because oops! both of the card generators are inaccurate in different ways! plus theres a few mistakes in the card art that i didn’t notice until after i finished most of the others... i promise the others are a little more polished
also, since i didn’t mention it above the cut, the sigil patch is for the bone king sigil! which makes the card award 4 bones instead of 1 upon death. this is less for lore reasons and more for the synergy with his sigils. since he’s constantly dying and coming back, he can basically give you infinite bones for Zero Cost. fun!
aaand i think that’s all the notes for this card! thanks for reading this absurdly long post. here’s his alt card art without the patch for your troubles 🫡

Syntrivi, Toa of Glass and infamous thief.
She was tricky but fun to build. This MOC is based on an older character of mine that I wanted to rebuild since I bought a glitter-clear Avohkii. I wanted to give her a rough, almost "leftover parts" kind of aesthetic, like a forgotten project of some Great Being. She's tribeless, friendless, and has never heard of the Toa code, but still approaches every day with a smile.

WoD5 thoughts: Why limits don't work
Preface; Liking WoD5 is not bad, finding it the best edition is fine. What I am talking about in this mini-essay is the more technical side of things. The reason the way WoD5 limits what you can play bothers me, is that I have seen why limiting options never works and in fact creates a lot of elitism within the community. To explain, in Revised edition it was very common for VTM sourcebooks to have a new bloodline or clan with cool new powers. Only for the book to say it was not meant to be played. They did this multiple times, if you have V20 just look at the bloodline section. While WtA didn't suffer from books inventing new fera left and right, the community itself started putting very harsh limits on what sort of character was acceptable. Thanks to lupus having 5 gnosis, the breed was deemed 'too hard to play' or 'only for power gamers.' Crinos-born baaarely squeaked through. It was clear most wanted everyone to just play homids of tribes that originated from Europe. Any other breed, tribe or Fera was seen as Snowflaky. (I cannot say anything about the rest of the games.) When the Revised edition ended in the setting ending, it took old-White Wolf/Onyx Path a bit to find their footing with the New World of Darkness/ Chronicles of Darkness. But once they did, the mentality towards unorthodox characters changed. Now, everything was given rules and ideas on how to play them. More importantly, since NWoD was not meant to be one cohesive setting but a toolbox for the ST to use, there was no longer a pressure to fit every supernatural into specific games. Once the 20th editions came around, they followed the same mentality found good from NWoD; The ST chooses what applies and what does not. You could now play all the bloodlines in VtM and for WtA lost tribes and fera were given full character creation rules (White Howlers even got their own tribebook!) No longer was it seen as snowflaky to play a non-homid or a fera. As long as the game functioned, it was fine. So, now with WoD5, it feels strange to see how limited your playable options are. Not to mention, there is a lot of morality tied to why you cannot play them. Second Inquisition is bad because The Man and fundamentalism, Sabbat is bad because they are in a cult, Cult of Fenris is bad because the writers want to make them neo-nazi, stargazers are bad because...reasons, as are tribeless werewolves.
Hunter gets it the worst, though, with hunter organizations being automaticly bad, even if they are based on a group of people trying to get rid of illegal sex tourism in their country. And what of the lupus? How many games allow you to play as wolfborn in W5? How many people wanting to get, once again, told to just play humanborns? WoD works best when it is open for players to explore. Not when you get shamed for trying to play something different.

Dorcean Headcanons: Chieftains and Tribes
The chieftain is in charge of the tribe, though they may rule along with their spouse. Their duties involve organizing hunting parties, managing the tribe’s resources, and managing relations with other tribes and non-Dorcean peoples.
Allied tribes often engage in arranged marriages between the chieftains’ children to better relations.
A chieftain may be female or male.
If someone is banished from a tribe for breaking the Hunter’s Code, the rest of the tribes will shut their doors to the banished.
The term “tribeless” refers to Dorceans who live in the wilderness by themselves, either by their own choice or otherwise. Cassiora was considered tribeless before her marriage to Besteel, automatically making her a member of his tribe. Irkana would become a tribeless following her banishment.
A chieftain chooses their successor based on skill and merit, not blood relations. Their children may be passed over as successors if the chieftain feels they’re not apt for the position.
The chieftain’s successor must not only demonstrate immense skill in combat and hunting but also the character to make hard decisions for the good of the tribe. Besteel met these criteria, as not only was he willing to give up hunting and start over for the sake of Fayluna, but he did questionable things to secure her and Redimus’s release without breaking the Hunter’s Code.
Depending on the tribe, the chieftain must die physically or symbolically for their chosen successor to take their place.
Should the chieftain die without choosing a successor, the tribe’s elders discuss potential candidates and vote.
It’s possible to challenge the chieftain to usurp the position—the challenge can be refused, but the chieftain risks losing the tribe’s respect. The fight lasts until one of the contenders cannot go on. Whoever loses the match must leave the tribe.

Heeeewwooo :D I have come with little lore or story of Venobrai, especially to the necklace/collar either or geemm. Basically, a lil inspired and kinda just... Magicing bullshiiting mah way to make it possible for le Venobrai to have a human side, form or disguise, to fit in into the streets of Ninjago City better, rather than as a tribeless serpent, having to be mostly cooped up in the Museum.
Tumblr media
(This obviously let meh redesign her human form and so a lil)
So basically the gem, rather the whole thing is how I now plan it to have originally come from the Neither Realm, World whichever. Mainly because my minded wondered on Akita, or the whole Change/Formlings ability.
Sooo... The magical bs part comes up to where it's basically when the Change/Formlings(I can't remember hush) were still around before they were mostly butchered or captured by the Ice Emperor, (Thanks Zane, but I forgive ye cause got hijacked.) some of them would allow, or give gems they chose to hold their power to shift between animal or human, but obviously from on coming threats and other such, they either sent the gems off realm, or destroyed them from being used for evil.
And eventually, this one ended up being discovered by a Ninjago resident explorer or so, bringing to the Museum for Dr. Saunders to possibly make it out. Unfortunately he couldn't, mainly claiming it as some probable untold jewel of power, or just a really fancy thing of jewelry. But it called to the young, teenage Venobrai who asked if she could try it on.
And well, it's obvious it was a happy for le snake bean. It's still quite unsolved how or why this happens or allows her this form now, unless I probably have it she's even around for something like season 12, and one of the ninja or so tells her about it, prob not but who knows. Anyway that's lengthy, and now you know a lil more behind mah girl and meh bs magic plots n stuff :D

I miss empowerment.
People who've made their purported victimhood into their entire identity despise people who are further down the intersectional ladder saying they're not oppressed, because it gives their own game away.

Saw your doodle of htf Lis. Is that a GAIA pendant she's wearing? Considering the beliefs of the tribes concerning AI would that mean she would be seen as a "priestess"?
Yes, Beta who made it :D
hmm... I don't think so, because the knowledge of Gaia's existence is for a few selected people.
Beta actually made a pendant to all the gaia gang members, so they are much more likely to be seen as a kind of group? A group that has tammed machines and "can see the unseen."
Would they be like... a kinda of United Nations group? In this case, united tribes? Hence, the gang is made of a member of each tribe (if you consider the sobeck sisters to be "tribeless"). That would apply even to canon... I'm just realizing that now as I wrote this.

“the eternal wanderer…? even death cannot release it from its plight… hm. did i create a second copy of this card?”
tribeless
1 power - 1 health - 7 bones?
unkillable - when a card bearing this sigil perishes, a copy of it is created in your hand.
corpse eater - if a creature that you own perishes by combat, a card bearing this sigil in your hand is automatically played in its place.
brittle - after attacking, a card bearing this sigil perishes.
hidden trait - cursebearer
this card cannot be sacrificed at the sigil stones event.
[twohats spoilers below the cut!]
Tumblr media
“callous, aimless, manipulative. this pitiful beast hides behind a mask of its own face.”
tribeless
2 power - 1 health - no cost
repulsive - if a creature would attack a card bearing this sigil, it does not.
bifurcated strike - a card bearing this sigil will strike each opposing space to the left and right of the space across from it.
hidden trait - shapeshifter
while in your deck or hand, this card will disguise itself as the wanderer.
SURPRISE BONUS CARD!!! or well. not really a surprise if you’re from the discord. still!!!! bonus card!!! writeup below!!!!
this is an ijiraq reskin!!!! or well. they were supposed to be one. their out-of-battle behaviors are pretty different but they work mostly the same in battles
the repulsive sigil is there because the ijiraq has it! but it also counts towards loop’s. general attitude towards themself i think. at least they can’t get attacked (if they don’t attack something with sharp quills that is). in kaycee’s mod, this sigil only appears on the ijiraq and starvation (which can only be played by leshy). probably for the best!
i added bifurcated strike both to set them apart from the ijiraq and because scissors craft! stats and sigils wise, they’re a sidegrade to the ijiraq. the fun stuff comes with their hidden trait!
so! shapeshifter!! originally just called. ijiraq. but it works a little different so it gets a different name shshhh. but i’ll just explain how the regular ijiraq works since it’s a kaycee’s mod card and kinda obscure. basically, it diguises itself as other cards in your deck! while on the map, it’ll show the card’s alt version with a red glow, but in battle, it’ll look and behave exactly like the card it’s mimicking. it only reveals itself once placed on the field! so it’s always a surprise! loop works similarly, but they only mimic sif’s card. because twohats :3
like the ijiraq, loop will swap themself with sif for most card events! though there’s a good few that they’ll just refuse to do. too much to talk about there, maybe i’ll post the talking card dialogue for them at some point? idk
oh, speaking of which!! like sif, loop is a talking card! they’ll still talk, even while disguised, but they’d have slightly different lines and portraits methinks. which does make it a little easier to figure out who’s who but that’s a sacrifice (heh) i’m willing to make. plus it’s just fun.
vulpecula is the name of a fox constellation! for fun parallels with siffrin! the constellation itself doesn’t have any mythology behind it though. just a fox. the reason loop’s holding a goose in their mouth(…?) is because the constellation is sometimes depicted with one! please look at the goose i’m really proud of that goose.
this was. probably the hardest card to draw Period. my usual way of drawing loops spiky face would’ve felt out of place with the inscryption style so i had to improvise! and BOY it was a struggle!! especially since i didn’t have a sketch prepared like i did with the others. i think this turned out pretty nice though!
NO PATCH!!!! REJOICE!!! loop can’t be selected for sigil transfers (because ijiraq) so they don’t have any!!!! i mean, i could’ve hypothetically given a patch to the sif disguise but no. i don’t want to even try to recolor the patch. that would be a nightmare. maybe if i ever find a blank png version of the patch.
if i were to give them a patch sigil tho, i think i’d give them hoarder? which lets you draw any card from your deck after placing loop on the field. as like, a nod to how much QoL they add in isat.
also as a little aside, you can attempt to fuse them and the wanderer at the mycologists. they won’t let you but you can try. similarly, they’ll be counted as kin in the trial of kin! because again. twohats
THAT’S EVERYTHING 🎉🎉🎉 rare cards wise, at least. trust me there’s a ridiculous amount of extra stuff for this au. i’m making an entire campaign. god have mercy on me
no extra alt card art so uh. thank you for reading these!!! isatscryption is like. probably the most self indulgent thing ever for me. thank you so much to everyone who’s responded to these aauauuaa i reread the responses like. every day!!! so thank you!!!!!! 💥

Queer Zelda
Miyamoto designed the hero of the game to be androgynous so that anygenderbody could imagine themselves as the Hero. (Well. Bi-gender continuum Hylian people anyway. That's why Ganon's the bad guy, he's neither Hylian nor on the bi-gender spectrum. #joking #orAmI)
There's a lot of topical things that can be said about the Zelda series, so I try to limit my scope when I write posts like these. I could fit so many tangents into this baby otherwise.
Everybody knows about Sheik and Girl-Link--Not to be Confused with Linkle, who is also a girl-link, but not Link in girl clothes. Even though she happens to also be wearing Girl clothes. I have theories about her, how she might be a maiden, or Zelda in Green clothes instead of her standard Hylian Blue. (And sometimes Pink. [Trans Zelda?]) And she's not to be confused with Tingle (or Twink-le, which is either how you describe starlight, or a whole NSFW section of the internet.)
Speaking of tangents...
Let me point out the scene where Link meets Zelda in Z64. "I hope he didn't see me/us." This could be interpreted as queer representation young children. Peter Pan is often played by young women in school plays, and then there's the whole interpretation of *only* queer kids enjoying theater in any aspect. AND then there's the whole spectrum of interpretations you can give to Peter Pan as a whole.
And then there's the hair-cutting ceremony in Japan. This started with Samurai who would cut their hair to depict the end of an era. Or end of their old life.
Life is measured in how long your hair is allowed to grow. And cutting it symbolized stepping into a new era.
But this is also depicted in a lot of Japanese Fiction as women growing out of their innocence. Because women with children also cut their hair to symbolize the *new life*.
This is a willful stepping out of the *girl roll* into the *man roll*.
In this context, Girl *is* childhood, and there is no difference between man and woman as older being. Which is a stark contrast to more western beliefs that suggests a clear separation of boy to man and girl to woman.
For women, this has a deeper context, that they (being women) have the option to stay in *girl hood* as a benefit given by biology and sociology (or the divine, depending on interpretation)
This is arguably why Peter Pan, is the boy who never grew up. He refused to take that *man hood* role in order to be a provider. To be a caretaker for the other *lost boys*.
(War is a terrible things that kills parents and leaves children without them)
That was a lot more than I thought I would have to explain to get to the next point:
Trans Ganon.
The Gerudo are depicted as a community of women led by a single ruler. And that one ruler is *allowed* to be the *only* man. Because only a Man can rule in a Patriarchy. And there isn't a benefit to multiple rulers *except* to cause infighting. So everybody else *must* be women.
This is why Girl-Link is allowed in the Gerudo city despite not technically being a Girl, and the Gerudo *already* know what's going on with him. Because dressing as a women, being a women, denotes subservience to the ruler. Who is the only Man allowed.
This is the masculine/feminine depiction in the yinyang and in the Bible. Why tribes were depicted as being *one man* the leader. And why tribeless "men" were remembered, despite being put through tortuous situations.
Because they didn't submit like the women did. (Note, women in this context is the negative use by masculine leaders who had their own way of thinking, not how I think the world should be. )
They didn't need to be taken care of by the systems in place, and like Moses, instead provided care and salvation.
(If I ever get any sort of notoriety, I'm going to be so cancelled.)
Speaking of Tangents...
So the Gerudo have a forced gender caste system. Where only the one ruler is allowed to be a Man. Zelda doesn't have any specific Gender, and can be either Man, Woman, or Shiek. Because all maidens, princes, or Princesses are Zelda.
This has a more complicated history that, from the perspective of the common people, all royalty are really men trying to be women (You know; "Liberals") But in all honesty, it's the stupidest thing based entirely on clothing and make-up.
But that also mirrors what the Gerudo do. All Gerudo are Ganon. All Hylians are Zelda. But there's always one who is neither Man, Nor Woman, Nor Shieka. (Not Ganon, not Zelda, Not Shiek)
And that is Link.
Despite being given he/him pronouns, Link is never given a gender. Because he is inherently Genderless. He is the *anybody* a stranger who hears the call to action and acts. The one who takes sword to the powerful, shields the weak, and cares for those who need it most.
The balance between both the Feminine that Hyrule depicts, and Masculine Ganon depicts.
(oh there's more)
