I feel I’ve been fighting in naraku for far longer than i had hoped.
Almost out of healing items, all of my demons have perished… I myself perhaps almost have as well…
Unknown currently a to whether I’ve acquired poison, are bleeding to my end slowly, or am just exhausted….
Fairly certain taking a nap in here isn’t exactly the safest idea……
Need to get back to the barracks before anyone notices me still gone off somewhere…
I wanted to recruit more demons to fuse, however; circumstances seemed to not allow it…..
Hopefully I arrive topside again; all be it, defeated by my own ineptitude rather than slain by the demons I wish to ally myself with…
It is unknown to me where this message were to go; be it a plea of help for my fellow samurai, or a death knell as demons close in on my location I am unclear…
I dearly wish not to become one with an undead hoard of fallen men….
To my partners I do apologize deeply….. both human and demon……
I shan’t perish here ~~
I…. Shan’t…… die……… as well………..
………….
*collapses regardless much to their disappointment*

so the title of chapter 1009 in japanese is 奈落/naraku, one of the japanese words for hell (this one is less commonly used, and specifically comes from the sanskrit/buddhist naraka). and fittingly for wano's stageplay/kabuki theming, it has a double meaning- it can also be used to refer to the basement/trap room beneath a stage.
so when kaidou attacks here, his attack is called 引奈落/ragunaraku, playing on both that word (the additional kanji added to the start here is 'pull', so the literal reading of the kanji in isolation would be something like 'pull to hell'), and also, obviously, on the word "ragnarok," the legendary norse apocalypse.

- How many kids would they want? + pregnancy head canons Ft. Inuyasha boys 💐
Inuyasha
- I would like to say none..
- canonically, he has a daughter. So I imagine that if he had kids it would’ve just..happened.
- that’s the case back then anyway because they didn’t have birth control and whatever else.
- when you become pregnant he’s a whole mix of emotions but dw he’ll settle on being happy.
- he’d be the type to be like “kids are sticky and gross.”
- he warms up to the idea when he sees you with kids
- it’s one and done though..he’s extra careful after having a kid. He loves them, but he’s not doing another.💀
Miroku
- oh my gosh
- you’d pop out more babies than a Victorian wife if he had the choice.
- he wants like 10.
- you tell him obviously you’re not gonna rip your body open to birth 10 kids.
- you settle on like 4 MAYBE 5.
- he’s so happy and very supportive during all of your pregnancies.
- now, many people may think he’d want only boys, but in reality he’s such a girl dad.
- “oh how scandalous” he gossips while sipping imaginary tea.
Sesshomaru
- uh oh.
- none. Idk how to tell you this.
- he’s like Inuyasha, if he has one, he’ll warm up to it, but he doesn’t really try for one.
- again he’s one and done. Like, he’s not exactly dad material, nobody say rin because he married her..
- I feel like he’d have a boy and he’d be exactly like sesshomaru
Naraku
- NONEEEEE
- he’d baby trap you if you’d try to leave, but only because he wants to manipulate you to stay, not because he wants kids.
-now, if that happened..
- he’d constantly ignore the kid, but maybe he’d warm up?..
- he’d also not have any other kids, he’s successfully manipulated you so why would he?
- you’d have to hold the kid and let them cry as they ask why dad doesn’t want to spend time with them.
- naraku hears this, and, in his own twisted way, yes he “loves” his kid. He just thinks of them more so as a commodity.
- so he takes them on a ‘mission’ and teaches them how to use his puppets and stuff.
- the kids ecstatic, naraku doesn’t have to do much work, it’s a win win.
- that’s all you’re getting though.
Kōga
- he’s a “however many you want” kind of guy.
- he adores his kids though.
- I think you prolly end up with like three. That fits him.
- two boys one girl. The girl being the youngest is how I picture it.
- overprotective girl dad obviously.
- teaches his sons how to hunt properly, dots on his daughter but teaches her how to fight with her brothers for self defense.
- if she ever gets a bf he’s fighting for her, actually.
- he likes when you wear clothes that show off your belly. He likes showing off how he “claimed” you.
- also in a “look at my beautiful, glowing wife” way.
- tells your belly how strong they’ll be.
Jinenji
- I love him.
- he cried and passed out when he found out you were pregnant, he didn’t know he could even have kids.
- now he wants a whole army, but secretly because he never voices his opinion on it. He thinks since you go through the pain, you have the absolute final say and you wouldn’t want that many kids anyway..
- he carries you everywhere. You’re never on your feet.
- his whole hand takes up your entire belly. So when the baby kicks around he’s watching and feeling with tears streaking down his face.
- he’s our lil sensitive king.
- he goes into serious overprotective mode. He’s checking all of the food that you eat, making sure every step doesn’t end up making you trip, making sure you rest up.
- prepares you little salted rose petal baths and just sits there watching you. The love in his eyes makes you melt every time you look over to glance at him.
- his mom goes crazy too. Giving you advice, old wives tales, etc.
- the best overall. Because he is.

Chuuya as Inuyasha, keeper of the sacred jewel, who was trapped (with a poisoned knife of all things) to the jidaiju
Dazai as kagome, who has perfect aim (but wants to spend time with his chibi dog) so he missed and shattered the sacred jewel (scattered the pages of The book). Also, he uses a gun (priestess with bows are outdated or so he says)
Hirotsu as Kaede who teaches dazai how to use a bow and "please use it dazai we're in the medieval era, we're not supposed to have guns" "but you have magic!" "... Just don't use guns all the time"
Shirase as kikyou but he wasn't a powerful miko, but everyone (the sheep) thought he was so he befriended chuuya for power, when he saw chuuya had the book, he also claimed that HE'S it's keeper because how could a demon protect it and resist the power it holds.... So his legacy is a big sham
(Dazai gets absolutely jealous whenever chuuya brings up shirase (out of hatred), so he practices all his skills because he is better than that guy and he just wants to show chuuya.... He was successful in getting chuuya's attention, it earns him brownie points)
Akutagawa as miroku (and rashomon instead of black hole), but instead of sudden fondling, he's fond of sudden dismemberment
Atsushi as Sango, he wants to save his sister (kyouka) from naraku (mori). Also the victim of aku's dismembering tendencies all the time
Kouyou as kagura, she's become fond of the little girl (kyouka) and she gives advices on how to avoid mori's watchful eyes once in a while
Verlaine as sesshoumaru, instead of wanting chuuya's sword, he just wants to protect his brother (from dazai specifically) so he follows their journey.
Verlaine (sesshomaru) gang
Mori (naraku) gang
Soukoku (kagome & inuyasha) the sillies
Shin soukoku (sango & miroku) the big brothers

no…you’re so right for this. esp cause she was one of the best if not THE best slayer in the whole village. now there’s like….no female slayers?
for her to not pass any of that on to her own kids…just doesn’t make sense. especially cause in her village EVERYONE was a demon slayer. even her dad, who was older than she is now. it doesn’t make sense that she’d retire just to be a housewife imo. and by herself while her husband goes and fucks off in the woods? no! she would be fighting and bringing in income for her village!
I love Mirsan as a ship don’t get me wrong but Sango was really done dirty in Yashahime/the ending.
She’s the second strongest member of the team after inuyasha himself meanwhile Miroku is pretty much a squishy wizard without his strongest magic yet SHE is the one who retires fro demon slaying and NOT him? Like it literally makes no sense outside rigid gender roles! And I can’t even see Miroku being the type of guy to try to enforce that (as if Sango would let him of he tried lmao) he wanted to be a dad more than anything! It woudkve been much more natural to see the reverse of Sango hunting demons with Inuyasha while Miroku retires from combat stays with the kids!
And then there’s the passing of Hiraikotsu and Kirara to Kohaku and then Hisui….those where SANGO’S they where HUGE PARTS of HER character in Inuyasha we see her very deeply connected to both Hiraikotsu and Kirara! It feels so WRONG for those to be taken from her, and fine at least Hiraikotsu is a weapon so if you REALLY want to retire her I guess it makes sense for her to pass it on. But KIRARA that’s her little friend her companion it’s a bond that really can’t be reduced to just usefulness in combat…
those two have been though so much together and they don’t even interact almost at all in Yashahime season 1 despite Kirara being present for so much of it! Not even just occasionally seeing her go back to Sango to spend time with her every so often at least! And heck for “utility” you’re telling me a woman with so many kids in an era before cars WOULDN’T find a huge cat you can load everyone on to to fly around to be a HUGE connivence?
It just gets me so mad….as someone who really loves Sango (and Miroku and Mirsan too!!!) who really wanted to see what they’re up to in the em sequel to see THIS happen. Heck we barely get to see her in season 1 at least (I still have season 2 to watch) despite seeing a good amount of Miroku…I would’ve loved to see them back in action together! And to see how their family life would look based on what would actually make sense for those two characters and not just forcing them to fit tired gender sterotypes they never DID fit in Inuyasha….It’s just : /
#that’s what i DON’T get#sango was a badass who fought tooth and nail and she was fierce as fuck#it doesn’t make sense that now she’d just stay in the village to help run it#KOHAKU was more suited to that esp cause he was more of a pacifist even before they met naraku#he wasn’t particularly skilled and cared more about supporting his sister than fighting outright#she should be the one out there training everyone#she’s the one who actually learned all the fighting techniques!!#kohaku only really got the basics and he learned it all from his mentors aka SANGO#she didn’t use a similar weapon but she taught him all the slayer traps and other techniques#she should be playing a more active role it doesn’t make sense that now she’s a passive SAHM background character that cooks and cleans for#unless it all gets explained later in the plot#this doesn’t make sense for her#and to find out her closest friends’ child grew up alone and abandoned and didn’t know hardly anything about her parents??#the sango we all know wouldn’t take that laying down unless it HAD to happen#she loves fiercely and she’s a protector and it don’t make no sense#that’s part of why miroku gave up being a piece of shit for her#cause she’s fucking AMAZING and she doesn’t take shit laying down#i like yashahime but i really wish it focused more on the OG cast rather than the kids of some side characters#it’s missing that interesting strong female lead vibe that inuyasha had#ofc it’s not even written by the same person and i get that#but it feels like the new writers didn’t pay much attention to the old cast or even the old show when making yashahime#probs to establish independence from it#but if you feature those OG characters you gotta keep them the same or the old fanbase is gonna feel cheated#i’ll be honest i just watch the show for moroha anyways. she’s so fucking funny and perfect lmao#and i grew up on the eng dub and it’s hard to listen to kagome anyways with such a high pitched nasally annoying sounding replacement#they haven’t even established or explained or shown at all how sess and rin managed to fall in love either#i always knew it was gonna happen but seriously? no mention? or hint? or story?#rin was interesting and one of a kind and unique too but now she’s just a silent and generic damsel in distress#she used to be funny as fuck and spunky#where did that all go?

I think you or someone else discussed how Inuyasha is most likely demisexual because of his lack of interest in nudity until he formed an emotional bond. I was just thinking how the anti’s claimed Inuyasha settled for Kagome, but all evidence points to him loving her *despite* her resemblance to Kikyo. Not hating on Kikyo, just pointing out how Inuyasha kept saying it’s his fault she died because he didn’t trust her, even though trust has to go both ways but whatever, so if he was settling then Kagome would be a daily reminder that he failed Kikyo. Which would sound like hell considering his repeated claims of his fault.
But clearly in the past discussion of Inuyasha being demisexual, we all know he isn’t shallow or ”settling”.
I might have mentioned Inuyasha being demisexual once or twice, but I don't remember posting something that specific. Maybe someone else did and I reblogged it?
I'm glad you brought up the "Inuyasha settled for Kagome" terrible take, though, because you make great points and boy do I have something to say about it.
First, I love that you mentioned trust has to go both ways despite Inuyasha blaming Kikyo's death solely on his lack of trust on her. It always bothered me how quickily and sincerely he owned up to the role he played on her fate when there was zero reciprocity from Kikyo.
He went as far as taking responsability for things that have never really happened and that would be completely out of his control if they had, such as Kikyo "dying to follow after him" even though he didn't ask for it and never would.
The irony is that, between the two of them, Kikyo was actually the one more equipped to realize they were being played and yet, not only she falls for the same trap, but never really acknowledges that her lack of trust on Inuyasha was just as detrimental to their downfall.
Naraku's entire plan was based on both of them doubting each other. If either one had been more trusting, it'd have failed. Inuyasha recognizes this and regrets not trusting Kikyo, immediately treating her like the victim that she is and never once blaming her.
But he is a victim himself and she never extends the same courtesy to him, still thinking her actions were justified because he should have trusted her — not the other way around — and so she never bothers easing his guilt. On the contrary, she purposely adds to it.
The thing about the love triangle — for lack of a better term — is that Inuyasha and Kagome are constantly pushing their feelings aside to empathize with each other's and Kikyo's pain, while Kikyo acts like she's the only one who's hurting.
Which is to be expected at first because she is the one who died and was brought back against her will, but as the story progressed, I kept waiting for Kikyo to see a little bit of herself on the ordinary girl who was entrusted the weight of the world upon her shoulders, had her shoes to fill and the mess she left behind to clean up.
I kept waiting for her to show some sympathy for the boy who lost fifty years of his life because she misjudged him and was willing to die for a debt she manipulated and guilt-tripped him into thinking he had, a boy she supposedly loves.
None of it came, at least not in a way that felt organic or satisfying. That's my main issue with how Kikyo was written. You can't paint her as a complex character and then gloss over her flaws. You can't sell her as gray character and then pretend the bad things she did never happened.
Takahashi wanted her to reap all of the rewards that come with a redemption arc without really bothering to make her go through one, because that would mean having Kikyo face her mistakes for what they were — including her distrust on Inuyasha — and then apologizing or making up for it, a feat that rarely happened in canon, if at all.
Instead, she abruptly stops acting as vicious, so everything can be conveniently forgiven and forgotten because "she isn't like that anymore." The lack of explanation about what motivated this change makes harder for the audience to connect with her and results in many plot inconsistencies.
And the lack of accountability regarding Kikyo's actions keeps her from growing and reaching her full potential as a character, indirectly regressing or preventing the development of the characters around her as well, which I believe is a huge part of why the story feels repetitive and stagnant at times.
Now, you're definitely onto something when you argue that all evidence actually points to Inuyasha falling in love with Kagome despite her resemblance to Kikyo. I've actually talked about it here and here.
While it's true that Inuyasha mistook Kagome for Kikyo when they first met, it would've been unreasonable to expect anything different. Their looks and scents are similar, he had just woken up from a fifty years long spell and up until then he had no reason to believe otherwise, but Inuyasha actually caught up in a decent amount of time.
After that, as much as he still refused to call Kagome by name, he was also very aware she wasn't Kikyo, to the point that it took seeing her with complete priestess attire on for him to even make that correlation again.
And yet, Inuyasha still doesn't go back into thinking they're the same person, but rather that Kagome's a girl who resembles Kikyo. Only eventually, even this starts to change the more time they spend together and suddenly, when Inuyasha has a nightmare about Kikyo, is Kagome he sees first.
Mind you, he has only seen Kagome in priestess clothes once. Kikyo wore those her entire life. It'd be understandable for him to confuse Kagome for Kikyo and yet Kagome was his first thought here when, by logic, she shouldn't have been. From them on, he doesn't even see any resemblance between the two girls at all anymore.
Which makes sense, because even if Inuyasha had tried to use Kagome as a replacement — something he never did — he couldn't possibly have succeded, since both girls are polar opposites — a creative choice that was done completely on purpose — and Kagome wasn't slightly interested on being anyone but herself, making her into the worst Kikyo replacement ever.
That's why it got easier for Inuyasha to distinguish one girl from the other with time. Their distinct personalities make up for completely different dynamics and bring completely different feelings out of Inuyasha, because they represent completely different things to him and, again: this is done absolutely on purpose.
In the manga, this is better illustrated by two very specific panels. In the first one, Kikyo is smiling sadly but genuinely at Inuyasha — which we don't see her do often — and he admitted later on that the exchange made him feel guilty, like he had done something wrong, since he had just been rude to her.
In the second one, Kagome is smiling brightly at Inuyasha, which she does constantly, then we immediately see him blush and think to himself how relieved he is to see that smile
Of course those are very different contexts, but they pretty much set the tone for both relationships and if the arrangement of those panels wasn't a conscious choice — which I doubt — then Takahashi is insanely lucky. It's also worth noting that Inuyasha felt relieved to see Kagome smiling because it was further confirmation that even after Kikyo's resurrection, she was still Kagome.
So I think it's safe to say the physical resemblance actually slowed the romantic process down, considering that the staged betrayal made Inuyasha build his walls even taller than they were when he met Kikyo. This becomes even more clear when you compare their respective first "amicable" conversations.
With Kikyo, even though he was reluctant about her approach and suspicious of her intentions, there was still a part of him that obviously wanted it to be true, so he was at least open to what she had to say.
With Kagome, he was visibly more aggressive and closed off because he has been burned before and she was the reincarnation of the woman who did the burning, which makes her managing to get his trust so quickly that much more remarkable, since she apparently did in less time and in worse circumstances, what Kikyo couldn't.
And Kagome did it precisely because she never acted like Kikyo. She actually took the time to know Inuyasha, to give him her trust and to earn his, to build a solid relationship, based on honesty and real acceptance.
I like to think that, while Kikyo found a crack on Inuyasha's defense she could slip in, Kagome slowly smashed his walls to the ground, therefore leaving an ever lasting impact on him that she couldn't have made by being anyone but herself.
When Inuyasha starts to pursue Kagome romantically, he does so after concluding that there's absolutely no resemblance between the two girls at all and after going through an entire arc where Kagome cried for his sake and trusted him blindly, none of which has anything to do with Kikyo.
People argue that Inuyasha was actually trying to kiss Kikyo here, but why would he do that when he still thinks she betrayed him? And if this was really the case, then why has he never willingly kissed or tried to kiss Kikyo until their final goodbye, Sunrise additions excluded?
At this point, it makes more sense to me that he was avoiding to look at Kagome not because she looks like Kikyo — he has been looking at her just fine before —, but because he has started to catch feelings for her despite his efforts not to and doesn't know how to act. In fact, when he had the chance to kiss Kikyo soon after, this is what we got instead:
And then he hugs her — something the anime cut out — but the important thing is that Inuyasha had this and many other opportunities to rekindle his relationship with Kikyo and simply didn't.
In this particular occasion, he even go as far as to ask Kikyo to return the piece of soul that keeps her "alive" to Kagome knowing full well what the consequences were.
Why would Inuyasha settle for a "replacement" when he could have the real thing instead? Even if you believe resurrected Kikyo to be nothing more than a malicious replica of the original, she's still more Kikyo than Kagome could or would ever be.
I dislike this notion because if it's true and there's not an ounce of Kikyo there, why should the audience or the characters care if she "lives" or "dies"? If she gets a redemption arc or not? It feels like a cop out to only consider her the real Kikyo when she does good things.
That being said, save for maybe one scene at the beginning where Inuyasha shoved a bow and some arrows at Kagome because Kikyo was a master archer, he never expected her to behave like Kikyo, never tried to change her so she would and never acted frustrated or disappointed at the fact that she was her own person.
Inuyasha has his flaws — as any good main character should — but he always respected the inviduality of both girls, which is more than I can say about the people who insist on this baseless take.
To wrongly paint Inuyasha as someone who settled for Kagome because she looks like Kikyo gets especially icky when even Naraku, the villain who was obsessed with her, never redirected said obsession to Kagome.
It's such a common trope that I was actually expecting it, but I'm glad it didn't happen because it's a subtle and yet effective way of sedimenting both girls as separate individuals instead of going for the cheapest option.
And ironically, the only character who treated Kagome as if she was Kikyo was Kikyo herself, but even that was very early on and she only seemed to do it as a way of belittling Kagome, because while mentioning her to other people — or by the end of the story — Kikyo had no trouble referring to Kagome as a different being.
Sunrise's adaptation made very questionable choices but something they were pretty consistent on was making clear Kagome and Kikyo aren't the same.
Besides, something fundamentally wrong with this argument is that Inuyasha comes off as shallow and Kikyo as disposeable. Shallow because it suggests physical appearance is all that matters — which goes against everything his character stands for in canon — and the soul is just a seal of approval.
Disposeable because it hints Kikyo's personality is so forgettable and unimportant that it played absolutely no part on sparkling Inuyasha's interest. She's so easily replaceable that even someone who had opposite world views, thoughts, feelings, temperament and mannerisms could do the trick. The memories they made are so generic that it wouldn't have make a difference if any other character was in her place.
Why do people even like those characters, why do they even ship them together if they truly believe that? That's why I don't buy that they actually do.
You see, considering how huge Kagome's soul is, Kikyo technically has got to be someone else's reincarnation too, but I've never seen anyone making the case that she is anyone but herself or that her predecessor is also the love of Inuyasha's life.
The reason they try to do this with Kagome is so that they can pretend Inuyasha and Kikyo somehow ended up together to cope with the fact that they didn't. And that's the exact same reason they pretend he setled for Kagome as well.
Which is funny because what exactly was Inuyasha settling for? Like, in the great scheem of things, what was Kikyo able to give him that he couldn't get a thousand times better from Kagome with no strings attached and just had to make his peace with it?
It seems to me like it was the other way around: Kagome managed to accomplish everything Kikyo failed to do, so if anything Inuyasha was settling, it was for Kikyo, resigned to spend the rest of his life as human — something he hated to be — just to get "accepted" or to die for something he didn't do just to appease her.
Finally, to say inuyasha settled implies he had no other choice but to marry Kagome. He had: staying single, because now that he has friends and wasn't alone anymore, he doesn't need a lover to fill that empty space in his life if he doesn't want one.
Plus, Kagome wasn't entitled to his love. She jumped trought that well knowing that three years is a long time, that people and feelings change and that what waited for her on the other side was a mystery, but she did it anyway because all she ever wanted from him was to stay by his side and for him to be honest with her.
Kagome would've been fine with a platonic relationship because even though she obviously wanted more, she was ready to accept whatever Inuyasha was willing to give her, but he wanted her to return so he could give her everything, which he couldn't before because he felt in debt with Kikyo. That's the whole point.
Inuyasha was the one who iniciated every romantic moment they had early on: the first hug, both almost kisses, etc. And it was clear that the things Kagome made him feel, such as that sense of peace, of belonging, of unadultered happiness, were very new to him, so the idea that Inuyasha was settling for her is laughable when this is the character in question:
I know a lot of those scenes were deleted or changed by Sunrise but I watched the anime without reading the manga beforehand and reached the exact same conclusions, so I'm still of the opinion that the people who convinced themselves Kagome was a consolation prize either didn't pay attention or have an agenda of their own to push, that won't change by reading the original material.
TLDR; one does not simply "settle" for their soulmate. They come home to them.
#As you can see I have no self control when it comes to this topic#I bet you regret sending this ask now but this one is on you anon#I won't feel bad about it because I know nobody will read it anyway#And I'm glad I wrote this because if I ever get another ask on the subject I can just link this post and call it quits#So thank you for this opportunity#Sidmailing#Inuyasha#Kagome#Inukag

“Front Piece” chapter 6 sneak peek.
Kikyo and Yura walked in silence despite the former’s need to tell her girlfriend everything she discussed with Toga but obviously needed to wait until they were alone.
On their way to the elevators, Kikyo spotted Kagome and couldn’t help jabbing Yura subtly.
“There’s Kagome,” she whispered, drawing her girlfriend’s attention.
“What? Where?” Yura whisper-yelled, looking in various directions.
Kikyo subtly turned Yura to the right, forcing her to face Kagome’s general direction. “Purple blouse and black slacks,” Kikyo pointed out.
“I see her,” Yura exclaimed in a low voice, “she is certainly pretty.”
“Yura!” Kikyo chided in mock annoyance.
“What?! I have eyes! And you know fucking well you’re my one and only,” Yura retorted in the lowest volume possible. “Besides, I don’t forget you called her ‘babe’ first.”
Kikyo suppressed her urge to cackle, but before she could tease her girlfriend, she went stiff when someone appeared in the room and headed straight to Kagome.
“What the actual fuck?!” Yura muttered under her breath, perfectly expressing what Kikyo was thinking.
Naraku was hovering around Kagome, and it was evident that the young woman looked uncomfortable. Kikyo remembered Inuyasha mentioning that he suspected the creep was stalking Kagome, too. If she had to guess, Naraku was talking about work as an excuse to interact with the girl.
He had used the same excuse during college with Kikyo.
“Let’s go,” Kikyo told Yura as she casually walked toward Kagome. She just had the perfect excuse to strike up a conversation with the accountant and hopefully force Naraku to go away.
“Kagome?” Kikyo called out her name as if surprised to find her there. The girl in question simply gaped, and her eyes widened in shock.
Maybe Toga was right… But now was not the time to try and dig for information about Kagome’s feelings for Inuyasha. Kikyo’s current mission was to spare the girl from Naraku’s devices.
“Kikyo? It’s been a while since you stepped foot in the office,” Naraku greeted her with that creepy smile that made her want to scrub her skin raw. “I heard your husband is on a business trip without you.”
Typical Naraku, going straight to the mind games without a preamble, but Kikyo would not fall into that trap. Ignoring his words, she turned to Kagome, who looked visibly uncomfortable.
“Just the woman I was looking for. How are you, Kagome?”
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Naraku’s eyes glinting as he watched the interaction.
“Do you mind?” Yura glared at him, crossing her arms and stepping between him and the two women. “Don’t you have work to do? Or your job solely consists of following women?”
It was evident that Naraku didn’t appreciate the interference. However, he still left, muttering ‘See you, Kikyo’ as he walked away.
She waited until he was out of view before turning to Kagome, who was pale as a ghost as she stared at Kikyo.
“Hello! What can I do for you?” Kagome asked, and Kikyo didn’t miss the utter panic written across her cute face.
“Maybe she was interested but decided to move on to someone available.” Toga’s words resounded in her mind. It was a gamble, but Kikyo was almost positive that Kagome really liked Inuyasha, even if she was dating someone else. It would certainly explain why the young woman was staring at her like Kikyo would tell her to leave Inuyasha alone.
Her original plan was to bring up Kagome’s mother’s e-shop and ask questions about her crafts. Or mention Kaede and fish for a conversation about Sota. But it was abundantly clear that it was not the time for such random topics, so Kikyo decided to be upfront about why she approached her.
“I saw how uncomfortable you looked with Naraku hovering. Believe me when I say I know perfectly well how you feel,” Kikyo confessed, giving Kagome a sympathetic look, who seemed honestly surprised at the words. “Naraku likes to play mind games.”
“He loves to stir shit and stalk women while making it look like he isn’t,” Yura added.
Kagome gasped, looking from Kikyo to Yura. “Did he use to stalk you?”
“He’s been doing it since we were in college, but he does it in such a way you can’t really do anything about it, at least legally speaking. He’s crafty,” Kikyo explained.
Kagome looked honestly worried, then gave Kikyo a faint smile. “Thanks for the heads up.I—I get chills when he’s around. I don’t know why,” the accountant replied in a whisper.
Kikyo knew the feeling all too well. Taking a pen and a slip of paper from her purse, she wrote her cell phone number and Inuyasha’s and handed it to Kagome. “If he bothers you or you feel unsafe, please call me or Inuyasha, and we’ll see what we can do.”
Kagome stared at the slip of paper, confusion, and surprise evident in her features. “I—Thank you, Kikyo.”
“No problem, Kagome. Take care and please be careful. His mind games can mess with your head.” Kikyo squeezed Kagome’s hands in what she hoped was a comforting and empathetic gesture before turning to Yura. “Shall we go?”
Yura nodded before waving goodbye to Kagome.
The couple was soon on their way home, and Kikyo couldn't help wishing Inuyasha was back already to keep an eye on Naraku and make sure the creep left Kagome alone.
Kagome watched Kikyo and the other woman go, still confused and grateful for her intervention. Ever since Inuyasha left on that business trip three days ago, Naraku kept showing up and starting a conversation about anything—mostly work—but she suspected his intentions were to fish for information about her personal life. She had told him nothing at all, but she suspected he would try again and again.
Glancing at the slip of paper, Kagome couldn’t suppress a pang of guilt for having these massive feelings for Inuyasha. She held his phone number in her hands. Provided by his own wife.
The universe certainly had a way of toying with her.
Sighing loudly, Kagome returned to her office, praying and hoping her day would improve. At least she knew that her apprehension toward Naraku was correct and that someone other than her three friends believed her. She saved both numbers in her contacts list and hoped she didn’t need to resort to them.

It had only been two weeks. Two weeks since he reached his hand into the bone eaters well and felt the soft touch of her skin. Two weeks since she returned. And he'd be damned if he let her go again...
✍️ 📃 📚
Note: I have not watched or read YashaHime & dont plan to.
This story won't have any ties to the continuance.
Crickets chirped and the wind blew as Kagome made her way to her home that didn't feel like home. No, nothing was quite right anymore.
Three years had passed since Narakus defeat. Three years since she was trapped in the Shikon jewel. Three years since she was tricked into returning to the future, her present.
After graduation, her friends tried so hard to help her be happy again. She had to give them that. But they didn't understand. No one did. How could they?
During her time away, Kagome had changed. No longer the naive and trusting girl she once was, now she was simply traumatized.
Depression was never a word she would have associated with herself, but that was the only way to describe the way she felt.
At one time she held onto hope that an older InuYasha would one day appear. But then she remembered, in her time, there were no yokai. He was gone. She would be forever doomed to live in a world without the four people she cared most about. That thought alone kept her awake at night. Sango, Shippo, Miroku, InuYasha. They were long dead in her time and she didn't even know how they'd fared.
Did Sango and Miroku ever get married? Did Shippo get his nine tails? Did InuYasha find a home? Did they miss her as they aged and passed on?
Questions she would never get answers to plagued Kagome to no end. She didn't even know where they were buried, though she suspected it was somewhere on her shrines property.
That was the silver lining in her mind. Her shrine, her home, had once been the burial ground of the village from five hundred years in the past. The village that grew and expanded to become the Tokyo of the new millennium.
It was with that thought that Kagome held onto as she entered the part of the shrine that held the bone eaters well, completely unaware of the three sets of eyes following her.
_____
"She's getting worse." The cracking voice of a teenaged Sota whispered. Just because he was six years younger than his sister didn't mean he didn't understand her feelings.
He loved his sister as much as a brother could. She was his hero, brave, confident, and honorable. Seeing her this way was killing him slowly and he didn't think he could handle seeing Kagome hurt for much longer.
"I know." His mother was just as concerned, if not more. Her daughter had always been such a cheerful girl, but after her last return, something changed.
She knew Kagome had played a hand in countless yokai deaths. That she had seen things, lived through a war and won. But she never could get her daughter to tell her just what happened in those three terrifying days.
Kagome wasn't the same anymore. This world filled with people and technology wasn't suited for her anymore.
"Do you think she'll go back?"
"The portal has been closed for years, Sota." That sad reality was one her daughter was faced with. For all intents and purposes, four of the people closest to her had died the day the well sealed shut. "I don't think she can ever go back."
"Jii-chan said she will go back." His mother's shocked look brought nothing more than a shrug from the teen as He looked toward the shrine that housed both the well and his sister's sorrow. "He doesn't know when it'll happen, but he's certain the old stories about the Miko and the Yokai are about Kagome & InuYasha."
It was a bittersweet feeling, but their mother knew what needed to happen. Kagome didn't belong here anymore. She would have to let her daughter go if she ever wanted her to find happiness. Perhaps destiny had been in play since the morning her baby girl was born. If so, who was she to try and stop destiny? "Then we should help her prepare."
_____
Did the well stop working, because I was afraid to go back? When the well closed and I was alone in the darkness, I was so scared and sad.
I didn't realize that I had been in the darkness for three whole days. I made Mom, Sota, and Jii-chan as sad and scared as I was. I felt bad about that, and was so happy to be back here.
But then the well closed and I was left alone again.
InuYasha?
I've been thinking this whole time about the reason I was sent to the feudal era and the reason the bone eaters well stopped working when the Shikon jewel was destroyed.
My job in that time is done and now I must live my life in my own world. A world without you.
But, InuYasha, I need to see you again.
The feeling of the wind was the first thing she noticed. Soon hearing the chirping of birds, Kagome slowly opened her tear soaked eyes. A small gasp escaped her lips when, instead of the dirt and bones she normally saw, Kagome saw a blue sky filled with puffy white clouds.
She momentarily wondered if she was dreaming when she felt a soft touch on her shoulder and heard the soothing tone of her mother's soft voice. "Kagome sweety, what is it?"
"Mamma." Looking at the mix of emotions on her daughter's face, she already knew what was happening even before it was said. "The well… it's, it's open again."
She could tell Kagome wanted nothing more than to jump headfirst into the past, but her fear was holding her back. Fear of what may happen if she returns. Fear of disappointing her family. Fear that InuYasha was long gone..."Jii-chan and Sota told me this would happen."
"What?" The mix of emotions suddenly vanished to be replaced by simple shock. "How did they…"
"I would have thought you had learned by now, your grandfather's stories aren't just tall tales." She couldn't help letting loose small chuckle at her daughter's expense. It was true though.
Before Kagome had been dragged into the bone eaters well, she never believed a word of her Jii-chans stories. She disregarded his gifts and laughed at his offerings.
Eventually, after her return, she had locked herself into the shrine with the old man and told him everything that had happened in her two year journey. She apologized and begged to be taught more about shrine duties.
She had grown so much. "It's ok Kagome."
Before her daughter could speak, fast paced footsteps could be heard dashing down the stairs. "Yeah sis! We knew this was coming, we even packed some stuff for you!"
A less hyper set of footsteps came to a stop as Kagome stared in awe. "Sota? Jii-chan? How…"
"I'm the keeper of this shrines history girl!" The old man cane off rough, but Kagome could tell by the look in his eyes that he was just trying to keep himself From breaking down. This was hard for him, to say goodbye. But it was meant to be and it is what she wanted so he'd gladly take whatever pain was necessary on her behalf. "From the minute you first returned with InuYasha close behind, I knew one day you'd leave us to be the heroine of our past."
Stepping next to their grandfather, Sota, fighting his own tears, gave her a goofy grin. "InuYasha will take good care of you sis, just don't forget about us ok."
"Sota!" Falling to her knees, Kagome wrapped her arms around her younger brother and held tight. "I love you ototo. Take care of mom ok?"
With a firm nod, the thirteen year old stepped to his mother's side and began tossing several large duffel bags into the well. Her grandfather smiled broadly and hugged his granddaughter tight for the last time. "You will live long and well. There will be many trials and tribulations, but as long as you hold on to the faith you have in that boy, you'll be ok. Live well my sweet girl."
Stepping back, Kagome accepted a mysterious small trunk from him and turned back toward the well. Each step brought her closer to the dream she'd had for three years but she faltered at the last step. Glancing back over her shoulder with tears in her eyes, Kagome knew she was saying goodbye forever. "I love you all so much. Thank you for understanding." Shooting them a final smile, she clutched the black and gold trunk in her arms and jumped.
_____
It had been as much of a normal day as the white haired hanyu could get. The morning sun was beating on his back as he left Miroku and Sangos hut after sharing breakfast with the couple. Shippo followed behind in silence as he walked through the forest that had once been his prison, now dubbed his lands by the village.
It had become a sort of ritual for them. Rise with the sun, breakfast with Sango and Miroku, then to the Goshinboku to beg before checking the bone eaters well and checking on Kaede & Rin. When they arrived at the clearing that once held the portal to the future, InuYasha didn't expect much.
It wasn't that he'd given up hope, more like, he had come to terms with his fate. Kikyo had never loved him but he chased her around at every corner, abandoning Kagome more than once to chase the ghost of his past.
He had caused so much pain, he hurt Kagome so much that he knew this was his karma for treating her so badly. Maybe it was time he stopped coming. It's not like the Kami would answer the call of a hanyu anyway.
He had never wished to be human, but if he could have put this karma off until the next lifetime, he would gladly trade his demon blood. If only to see her one more time.
While InuYasha lost himself in his thoughts, Shippo stood fidgeting at the foot of the well waiting. He would never admit it, but every time InuYasha reached in the well only to come up empty handed, it broke the little kits spirit.
He missed Kagome. But he knew he couldn't take the visits anymore. Shippo would tell InuYasha that he would have to start coming alone to wait at the well as soon as he watched one last time.
Coming back to reality, InuYasha looked at the young kitsune for a moment. He looked conflicted, like he wanted to get something off his chest. But when he finally opened his mouth to speak, his eyes grew wide and he rushed to the wells edge.
Holding his breath and silently begging, InuYasha reached his hand into the well. Waiting. A few moments passed and nothing happened, just like every day for the last three years.
Damning his own nose for playing tricks, InuYasha removed his hand and sighed. With a nod of his head he turned to walk away when he heard a loud thunk.
Slowly, as if afraid of what he might see, InuYasha turned back as the second thunk hit. Confusion overtook him when he saw two giant bags in front of the well. Before he could investigate, he had to back up as three more giant bags came out of the well landing at his feet.
Terrified of false hope, he reached back into the well one last time. But this time, instead of a lonely emptiness, he felt the brush of fingertips. With one tug there, she was.

Inukag week, Day 2: Possession
Didn't quite make midnight on this one, but I had work. Hopefully I make tomorrow 😅
@inukag-week
~~~~~~
In My Head
"Kagura, let Kagome go! I'm your opponent right now!"
It had just seemed like a regular run-of-the-mill jewel hunt. Local demon, relatively harmless, suddenly goes haywire? Sounded like a sacred jewel shard causing problems, same as usual. And it has been a pretty standard fight, until Kagura showed up. Kagome had chased her down with sacred arrows while Inuyasha helped beat down the demon - a burrower, easily handled with reference to their fight with Kageromaru a while back - and followed once it was weak enough for Sango and Miroku to handle.
So yeah, standard fare. Until Kagura had grabbed Kagome and hauled her up onto her feather.
"Better hurry along, Inuyasha!" Kagura crowed, turning Kagome's face in her hand from her perch above the trees. "Naraku has such plans for your pretty little priestess."
"You give her back now!" He demanded, disliking how desperate he sounded.
"Inuyasha!"
Trying to avoid Kagura's notice, Kagome tossed something off the feather, and Inuyasha snatched it from the air as he leapt after them. The cool glass and faint rattle of its contents told him what he needed to know without taking his eyes off of the rapidly shrinking transport.
Inuyasha did his best to take chase, but as the feather rose into the sky, and the wind whipped their scent trail into nothing, Inuyasha slowed, trying to keep sight of the speck he thought was them until they vanished into the clouds.
He kept running in the direction they had disappeared in, a shout of frustration clawing its way from his throat.
"Inuyasha!"
Skidding to a halt, he turned to watch as Kilala landed on his left, with Sango, Shippo, and Miroku in tow.
"It was a trap. Kagura grabbed Kagome and flew off with her," he growled. "She used the cloud cover to hide before she could get too far, and I can't pick up their scent anymore."
"Great. Just perfect," Sango sighed fingers tightening in Kilala's fur. Miroku held up a tainted shards, frowning at it.
"We got the shard that Naraku planted on that demon, but lost Kagome in exchange. It was a distraction, but a costly one for him. He probably thinks he'll take it back easily when we go to rescue Kagome."
"But if Naraku wants the shard back," Shippo considered, "why did he make it so hard for Inuyasha to follow Kagura?"
Inuyasha looked down at the vial in his hand, gritting his teeth with another growl as his fingers clenched around the glass. With barely a thought, he lifted the little bottle to his mouth, pulling the cork out with his teeth and dumping their one remaining shard into his hand.
"Inuyasha! What do you think you're doing!?"
The half demon looked at Sango, the crystal point pinched between two claws.
"I've had what we'll call a scientific theory for a while, and now seems as good a time as any to test it," he stated, looking at the shard as he spoke. "Naraku can communicate with and control demons and humans through shards he's corrupted, right? Is it that wild to think that maybe Kagome could do the same for shards that she's purified?"
"Yes! That is wild! And crazy, and stupid!" Shippo decided, jumping to Miroku's shoulder to try and draw Inuyasha's attention more easily.
"And what do you suggest? Kagura's wind blew out any scent trail they might have left, and she got away fast enough that she was out of sight before you three even spotted me. She could've changed directions once they were out of sight, so we'd end up running even further away before we figure out where they've gone!"
"You shouldn't rely on the jewel's power like that. We've seen what it can do to other demons, you can't be so cavalier about this," Miroku insisted, clearly agreeing with Shippo.
"Would ya just listen? I ain't interested in the power right now! Kagome's spiritual power purified the jewel. Don't get me wrong, I know what it's still capable of. But if Kagome's spiritual power is in this shard, it could connect me to her so I can track her." Pulling the collar of his robe down, Inuyasha used a claw to cut slightly into the skin there. "Look, worst case scenario, it won't work and I'll take it right back out, I promise."
Sango paused, watching blood bead at the cut beneath Inuyasha's throat. He could see her considering as she met his eyes - it was definitely a risk, they both knew that. But if it worked, it might be a way that they could save Kohaku the next chance they got.
Another beat passed, and she placed a hand on Miroku's free shoulder.
"We'll try it, just for a minute or two. We don't know if Kagome is able to connect through the shards the way Naraku is, but if she can, it should only take a moment to establish a connection."
Inuyasha nodded, hesitating for only a moment before pressing the jewel shard into his open wound.
Immediately, he felt the low-level aches and scrapes from his altercation with Kagura and the other demon fade - skin knit back together, pains eased, and Inuyasha felt the skin beneath his throat close up around the jagged edges of the shard. Power coursed through him, and he could immediately understand why other demons got addicted to this. He could sense the darkness trying to take hold, but more than that, he felt the warmth and light that he'd come to associate with Kagome's reiki.
Clawed fingers still resting on the jewel at his collar, he reached out in his head, looking for the parts that felt the most like her.
Kagome? Come on, talk to me. Can you hear me?
There was a beat of silence, and he could feel the others looking at him.
"Alright, Inuyasha, I think it's time-"
Something reached back.
He shushed Miroku, trying to focus.
Kagome?
I-Inuyasha?
"I've got her," he announced
Kagome! Are you okay?
I'm fine, we're still flying. What are you doing in my head?
I used the jewel shard to connect with you. Listen, can you see any landmarks we can use to find you?
The jewel-? Inuyasha! That's not why I threw it to you and you know it!
Explanation later. I'll take it out after we find you, just tell me where you are!
An image flashed in his mind: the mountains to their right, already much closer but still distant, and with a dark, unnatural shadow on what should've been the sunny face. And if he really focused, he could feel a tug on his chest, pulling him towards the mountain.
You hang in there, Kagome. We'll be there soon.
Smirking softly to himself, Inuyasha looked up at the mountain peak Kagome had shown him.
"There! That mountain! They're getting close to Naraku's castle!"
Kilala transformed and they mounted up, taking to the skies.
Inuyasha scanned the clouds for any glimpse of Kagura's feather, but found himself distracted by the lightness in his head. Kagome's presence was somehow a one-to-one mix of mental fog and perfect clarity. He couldn't hear the thoughts she wasn't intentionally thinking at him, but he got some impressions - indignation and righteous fury (he wondered if what kagara had said to trigger that), but also a confidence that was almost smug. She was hundreds of feet in the air, with Kagura, on her way to Naraku's castle, and he could barely feel any fear from her. It was an afterthought, barely worthy of note.
He didn't know what being possessed by Naraku through a jewel shard felt like first hand, but according to Sango and Kagome, it was a dark, cloying sort of thing. Like your head was filled with miasma and rot and decay that made you willing to do anything for relief. Inuyasha yasha had quietly likened it to his faint memories of being a full demon when the Tessaiga broke for the first time. That constant stream of RIP/TEAR/ENDURE/SURVIVE/KILL that occasionally reared its head in his nightmares didn't sound too similar to their experiences, but it was the closest comparison he had.
Having Kagome in his head, meanwhile, felt like the polar opposite of that wild, cornered animal that he had become in demon form. Comfort instead of desperation, compassion instead of cruelty. It was hard to say if it was the spiritual power or just Kagome herself, but either way, it was probably the closest to enlightenment that Inuyasha would ever get.
This feels weird, right? Kagome asked, her voice light and sweet against his consciousness. Not bad, but definitely weird.
You're telling me, he agreed, wondering what sort of impressions she might've gotten from him, if any.
As if hearing the question out loud, her voice came again.
You need to relax. I can feel you stressing from here.
You're one to talk! Where the hell is your sense of self-preservation?! In case you missed it, you're being kidnapped and brought to Naraku!
You and the others aren't far behind, right? What's there to worry about?
That impression of confidence he felt before strengthened, pushing out that negligible sense of fear. He wasn't sure if she could feel the pride/wonder/satisfaction that he felt in response. He knew, after so much time together, that Kagome trusted him. That she believed he would and could come and clutch when she needed him. It was different, though, to feel it in his own head with the same surety as the phases of the moon or the cycle of seasons. Sun shines, grass grows, birds fly, and he and Kagome protect each other.
You're closing in on us; I can sense the jewel now, not just you. How do you want to do this?
"We're getting close," Inuyasha announced. "Stay low and stay quiet."
Is Kagura holding on to you?
No, I'm sitting behind her now. But she keeps glaring over her shoulder at me
They were getting quite close to the shadow in the mountainside, and Inuyasha could now make out the silhouette of the castle.
Inuyasha paused, refocusing on the clouds. As soon as the cloud cover passed for just a moment, his eyes were drawn right to Kagome's figure on the back end of the feather, a good ways above and a bit ahead of them.
"Sango," he hummed, voice soft but laced with a venomous determination. He nodded up at the shape floating overhead. "As soon as Kagome drops down, be ready to knock that witch out of the sky. I'll give Kagome some extra hang time, but try and catch us before we get too cozy with the ground, got it?"
Sango nodded, adjusting her weapon and letting Miroku and Shippo lean out of the way. Inuyasha brought his feet up, crouching on Kirara's hindquarters. Giving everyone a glance over, Inuyasha looked back up at the feather, catching Kagome looking at him.
As soon as she looks away from you again, fall back off the feather.
There was nearly a breath of hesitation before he felt the confirmation/understanding/trust in response, and he didn't even have time to enjoy the rush of warmth he felt in response before her voice in his head muttered here goes nothing.
He saw Kagura shift, and right on cue, Kagome quietly leaned back and slipped right off the tip of the feather.
Inuyasha leapt lightly from Kilala's back, angling himself to his descent aligned with Kagome's. He heard the indignant shriek Kagura gave as she was struck, and felt Kagome's disappointment that she hadn't seen it mirror his own.
When his arms came up around her, he was caught off guard again when she let off a wave of safety/security/affection/knewyou'dbehere while smiling up at him
"Hey you," she greeted, breathless and almost laughing.
"Hey yourself," he shot back, ignoring the fact that he was definitely red in the face and there was no way she'd missed it. He looked around for Kilala, who circled around to catch them once Sango had caught her hiraikotsu. Landing easily at the base of her tails, Inuyasha helped Kagome to sit before doing so himself.
"So, do we stay or do we go?" Sango asked, looking back at them while pulling the strap of her weapon over her shoulder. "I'm guessing we only have a few minutes before the saimyosho or another incarnation shows up. Do we go to them or let them come to us?
"Put me down for a tactical retreat. We spent all morning tracking that demon and didn't even have breakfast," Shippo whined, crawling down Miroku's back and into Kagome's lap. "This is probably just another fakey illusion castle with another fakey puppet Naraku. And if it's not, it'll still be there after we eat and rest."
"Regardless of whether it's real or not, we should take a step back and come up with a plan. Kagura wanted me at the castle, and said Naraku had plans for me. Even if it's just a puppet, no plan of his means anything good for us," Kagome pointed out. Looking back at Inuyasha, she offered a smile, pushing out reminders for food/rest/comfort toward him. Ears flattening, he sighed, crossing his arms.
"The edge of the forest. Away from any villages. If we're gonna get attacked, last thing we need is a bunch of humans caught in the crossfire."
Kagome's smile softened, and she leaned back against him. An hour or two to rest, and maybe play with this connection a little more before diving back into danger.
~~~~~~
Shippo, stop kicking the fourth wall, you're gonna break it.
If I wanted to get this posted tonight, I had to cut it off here. But Kagome being able to connect with people through purified jewel shards the way Naraku does tainted ones is something I've idly played with before, and I might touch on it again just for funsies.

- “when we have kids…” and then he goes on a rant.
- he doesn’t care if you’re a wolf yokai or not. He fell in love at first sight and nothing will change that
-tells you multiple times a day how much he loves you.
-he’s so sweet:(
Sesshomaru
- let’s ignore the fact that he got with the girl he knew since she was 4. Then had twins with her.
-it’s so hard for him to express his love.
-he does it in small, chaste cheek kisses or deep kisses randomly.
-if you’re a human, he resents himself for loving you.
-but he can’t stop loving you.
-for him, you’re his first and greatest love, he can’t let you go even if you’re a mere mortal.
- often has you between his legs laying your head on his chest while he wraps his arms around you and burries his face in your neck
- lets you pet the fur on his wolf form
- after awhile, he tells you about his complicated relationship with his half breed brother and why he despises mortals so much.
-I hate saying this but truly love changed his perspective on humans if you were one.
- “my darling”
Jinenji
- my baby!!! :(
- he spent his whole life getting rocks literally thrown at him for existing, his appearance leading him to believe that he would forever be alone in his mothers cottage, taking care of her and the farm work until she died.
- when you came around he immediately was a stuttering, blushing mess.
-he couldn’t believe you weren’t scared of him, or thought he was ugly.
- it took him awhile to confess, but he did, while you were stargazing. It took him like 20 minutes to say “I like you..romantically”
- when you accepted he nearly passed out.
-he carries you around, he likes it when you kiss on his face.
-he nuzzles his face into your side all the time
-bends down to look you in the eye
-you never lift a finger when he’s around.
-asks his mom for advice
-tells his mom about you, oh, and she adores you. Calls you her daughter and makes food with you.
___________________________________________
In conclusion Jinenji my love.
I NEED MORE REQUESTS PLEASE.

BAMF/Powerful Kagome
Kagome has so much potential, so it's always wonderful to see authors delve into her powers or showcase her tenacity and determination!
Almond by Sereia13/@sereia1313
Mature | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: Sesshoumaru has made his intent clear, offering the miko a place in the west at his side--if she would only show up to accept the proposal.
Alpha by Uissuteffu/@uissuteffu
Explicit | Feudal Era Canon | Ongoing Summary: It's been twelve years since Kagome first fell through time... and a lot has changed. Her powers have reached unfathomable levels and she's been putting them to good use, living as a lone, traveling miko, slaying troublesome yōkai and healing her way across mid-sixteenth century Japan. Her latest mission began with curiousity, driven to travel the perimeter of a mountain, chasing rumors of a similar trouble that plagued all villages near the mountains base - dogs have been going missing for decades. The stories relayed led her up the mountain and to a discovery more horrifying than the rumors suggested. A discovery that would end her life as a human and attract the attention of a certain demon lord.
Claimed (fic has been orphaned)
Explicit | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: Kagome was sold by Kikyo and it took her two years to return to her friends for the final battle with Naraku. Things have changed since she has been gone, but the most changed is Kagome herself. Can she find where she belongs when things are revealed?
Sanctuary by Sereia13/@sereia1313

The First Cut is the Deepest by Sage McMae/@sagemcmae

Ikigai by Uissuteffu/@uissuteffu
Explicit | Modern Era Canon | Ongoing Summary: It's been ten years since the well stopped working, trapping Kagome in her own time. She spent the decade never giving up hope that the well might re-open, honing skills that would make her life in 16th century Japan much easier. Despite her fixation on the past, she never stops focusing on the present. She's now in her final semester of medical school and in desperate need of a break. She, along with her old high school friends and a few new ones, set off for a camping trip to celebrate the onset of summer. Along the way, Kagome senses yōki for the first time since the closing of the well. Following it will lead her on a journey more frightening and bizarre than anything she'd faced in the past.

Little Red & The Silver Beast by Sage McMae/@sagemcmae
Mature | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: A vigilante in a red fire rat robe is causing a stir in the Western Lands. When Sesshomaru tracks down the culprit, he discovers the archer isn’t a man, but a woman— more accurately, a miko.
Murky Magic by Sereia13/@sereia1313
Mature| Modern AU | Complete Summary: In which Sesshoumaru has a spell cast on him, with interesting results.
Order of the Sun by Harlecorn/@harlecorn
Explicit | Modern Era Canon | Complete Summary: An organization originally started to help people against rogue youkai and bandits has now become the only thing keeping youkai safe and hidden from the rest of humanity. Kagome is one of their top agents, having gone through hell to get to where she is. While on assignment, she runs into an old ally she hasn't seen in nearly five centuries.
The Perfect Mate by BelovedStranger (Dokuga)
Explicit | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: Unwittingly, Kagome stumbles into the midst of a game of political intrigue, where the prize would mean mating the all powerful Lord of the West. A prize she did not desire, however, fate would have her victorious. Wounded, enemies converge while known friends are out of reach. She was forced to rely on Sesshomaru, who had his own hidden agendas where she was concerned. A fierce attraction holds sway between the two as they slowly revealed what fate had locked away, only to set free a power perhaps best left alone. Hindsight is not foresight and love could not concur all. Only through sacrifice could Sesshomaru save all he had come to hold dear.
Second Alliance by ImaniJoain (Ao3)
Explicit | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: A new threat has breached the peace left in the wake of Naraku's defeat. This time, it will be Sesshomaru who must propose an alliance to defeat an enemy he has no experience with: a death that claims humans and demons alike. Only his half-brother's strange miko truly understands the danger, and she is the key to conquering it.
Reserve Untapped by SilverEyedHyuuga (Dokuga)
Explicit | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: Years of battling Naraku have kindled Kagome's formerly feeble reiki into a considerable force. Now that the spider demon has been defeated, she has taken it upon herself to train and maintain her power. A certain daiyoukai cannot help but be intrigued by the blossoming of her gifts, and when their chance encounters begin to become not so coincidental anymore, he, against his better judgement and opinion of humans, begins to recognize her for the formidable priestess she has become. When Sesshoumaru joins forces with Kagome against a deadly new enemy--the powers of which they have never encountered before--he comes to respect her more and more as not just a mere miko, but as his equal.
Whirlwind by Sereia13/@sereia1313
Mature | Feudal Era Canon | Complete Summary: The destruction of the jewel leaves Kagome with more power than she knows what to do with, putting her in tune with the elements. But when a wayward breeze ends up being more than it seems, she finds herself asking for help from the unlikeliest of allies.

@arrachnes asked: " in the spirit of giving, i have chosen to depart with one of my most beloved children. be grateful." and, without so much as waiting for a response, naraku summons forth a giant bee....wasp... creature. oh, he has this 'being nice' thing down.
DON'T SCREAM . DON'T SCREAM . it was rude to shriek hysterically at anyone's generous holiday gift ... attempt ! the boy's fists grip and tremble 'til his knuckles turn a clean white , and his toes curl inside of his shoes . somehow , the fact that naraku just might have made a pun , whether intentional or otherwise , wasn't doing much to bring him any sort of relief .
but why a bee ... wasp --- bug thing ?!
just what in the world what was he , or even anybody else supposed to do with this ?! just what had naraku been doing with this ?! what did it even eat ?! the souls of the innocent as its very own succulent nectar ?! other children got puppies and kittens to play and grow up with , maybe it was just his destiny too to receive ... beloved bee-wasp-monstrosities from his most morally questionable company ? not to mention , if this was one of naraku's 'children' --- a middle schooler was far too young to become a surrogate father !
trapped in place and forced to weather the unbearable trials of this benevolent holiday , daisuke hopes that the horror of his expression could somehow be mistaken well enough for sheer delight .
' it ... it --- it's , um , c-cute ! '
he's pretty sure it just screeched and spat something venomous onto him . was naraku just going to stand there and do that creepy laugh again ? something like , 'kukuku , look how much it already adores you ...' which actually , really wouldn't have been so bad , at least compared to the sort of nightmare-vision formulating in his mind where in one wrong move got him practically impaled by a stinger .
moreover , was it really just going to follow him around ? maybe he should get a leash ... ' t-thank you , naraku-san , i'll --- um , b-be sure to take care of it . '
yeah . in one way or another .
