Question
If you could only download ONE sesskag fanfiction off of Ao3 to keep forever (one you didn't write), what one would you download?
The whole Manacled thing had me thinking of updating my downloads.

The Nutcracker Lord
I've been sitting on this idea ever since I started writing, and I'm finally getting around to it! So, of course it went from three parts to me being 10k and five chapters in with no end in sight. Luckily @mrfeenysmustache was nice enough to join me in this chaos and create some lovely illustrations.
Summary: As a world-travelling dancer, it isn't often that Kagome makes it home for Christmas. Making the most of her trip, she plays the role of dutiful daughter, helping her mother prepare for her annual Christmas party. But a lone wooden figure under the tree catches her eye, leading her into a world of magic drenched in turmoil, and she'll need more than a pair of shoes to get out unscathed.
Read on Ao3.
Sneak Peek
Edging around the side of the tree, Kagome jumped back when something crinkled under her feet. She was about to yell at Kouga for opening his presents early but frowned when she realized the tissue paper was still inside the box. Kneeling down, she pushed a gnarled branch out of the way to reveal two pairs of gleaming, golden eyes.
They were made of wood, the paint of their uniforms untarnished—one in red, the other in white—and she lifted them out of the open box. There was no tag, no ripped ribbon, and she looked between the two figures, trying to decide who they were for—or from.
"I see you've found our newly invited guests," a familiar voice rumbled. Kagome nearly dropped the statues, on the verge of jumping to her feet when the daiyoukai sat down beside her. How he managed to do so in his three-piece suit was beyond her, but she was used to chalking it up to youkai magic.
Her eyes moved between the figures and her uncle. "You're supposed to run all invitations by Mama first."
He chuckled, his long silver hair tied back into a high ponytail. Most demons were more subtle about their appearance, trying to blend into their surroundings, but not Touga. He made a point of showing off his markings whenever possible, be it pulling his hair back or rolling up his sleeves. Mama constantly called him out on it, though it was more for Izayoi's sake than anything else.
"In this case, I think she'll make an exception." He had a mysterious twinkle in his eye that always preceded mischief, and Kagome held the two figures up to the light.
"Who are they?" she asked, turning them sideways.
An uncharacteristic sigh escaped his lips. "Two boys pretending to be men," he answered. "Both too big for their britches, which, incidentally, got them cursed into these forms in the first place."

He holds his breath as her eyes flutter open. Achingly slow, her blue gaze sharpens and snags on him. His name is a sigh on her lips and his heart leaps. “Sesshoumaru.” Her trembling, knotty finger reaches out, presses against the spot between his eyebrows, smoothing out the burrow. “Don’t be ruining that pretty face with a frown. You always worry too much.” He clasps her hands and kisses her knuckles. “My apologies, dearest Kagome,” he tells her, the corner of his lips curling up. “I promise there will only be smiles for you from now on.”
G. 525 words.
Canon divergence, established relationship, angst, bittersweet ending.

It was supposed to be two weeks. A Christmas vacation, complete with all the magic of the season, with a nice fat bonus attached. A plan, that made sense to no one but them, with clauses and amendments to benefit them both.
What happens when things get a little out of hand in a winter wonderland?

Recommendations?
I am once again asking for help with finding something to read.
I really want to read something that's longer (60k+ words), complete, with either Kagome saving Sesshomaru or Rin as the reason for the initial connection. I just reread Second Alliance, Temporal Sequence, and Battle of Heart & Land. I guess I'm stuck on that trope right now lol.
Dokuga, Spark, Ao3, FFN... I'm not picky on where I read. I just can't decide WHAT to read. I've noticed I keep rereading the same 10 or so stories so I want to switch it up a bit.
Thanks guys!

Just Another Line
A wintery present for @theturtleducks for @crescent-dreams' Winter Gift Exchange 2024!
Summary: It had begun as a way to teach the younglings how to read but soon spread to others in her pack. Sesshoumaru had known she was educated but hadn’t realized how far her knowledge went. The more complex symbols were reserved for those of noble birth, making their missives unintelligible to the common folk and keeping their secrets safe. Was there more to her upbringing than a simple disparity in time?
Read it on Ao3 and FFnet.
Sneak Peek
It had begun as a way to teach the younglings how to read. They clambered over her whenever she had a book in her hands, constantly asking what specific symbols meant, and she eventually got fed up with the interruptions. The alphabet was wobbly, but they were diligent workers, intent on impressing her as quickly as possible.
The wolf joined to impress the miko; the slayer joined to impress the wolf. And the miko allowed them both to believe she had no hidden agenda, encouraging them to practice their writing skills with each other outside of her lessons.
Once they'd memorized the basic symbols, she'd proposed a sort of confessional in their assignments, ensuring the scrolls would be left unopened if labelled as such. There were mentions of a 'diary' from her time, a book meant to hide one's most intimate secrets, and while the children had nothing to hide, the adults certainly did.
It took many weeks of convincing, but, according to the miko, it was much easier to admit to something on parchment than state it out loud, especially if someone else was involved. Sesshoumaru had scented the interest on the slayer's part—it was almost laughable how ignorant the wolf prince was to her affections—but she grew more confident with each written word, and soon, the two of them were going hunting together.
She'd somehow convinced him she needed guidance on how to do it properly, feeding his ego while allowing them ample time alone.
The miko's pride was palpable.
"Do you need writing lessons, Sesshoumaru-sama?" Rin asked, ending her current sentence with a flourish. "Kagome-sama is a great teacher."
Sesshoumaru lifted his cup to his lips. "It was a skill taught to me at a young age."
"But you could probably use a refresher," she argued. A raised eyebrow had her grinning. "Kagome-sama says that when we haven't practiced in a while. She doesn't want us to forget what she taught us in the beginning." Considering Rin's keen observation skills, he doubted she ever needed this 'refresher'. However, said skills were second only to her persuasion skills, and Sesshoumaru quickly found himself agreeing to join their next lesson.
The miko was surprised but intrigued by his presence, offering him a crisp piece of parchment and an unused brush. She also requested kanji instead of the hiragana she'd taught the children, and it was his turn to be surprised.
He'd known she was educated but hadn't realized how far her knowledge went. The more complex symbols were reserved for those of noble birth, making their missives unintelligible to the common folk and keeping their secrets safe. Was there more to her upbringing than a simple disparity in time?
