Hermione watched Dorcas sprint, laughing with her braids flying behind her, summer sun glinting off the grass.

Regulus was just in front of her, laughing quieter but still laughing. 

"Fine!" a boy's voice called, and Hermione realized as she looked around that Barty, Evan and Pandora were with Dorcas and Regulus. The boy who had spoken was Barty. "Fine, Reg wins, and my dumbass should learn to stop challenging you two to races."

"You should learn," Pandora said. Barty flicked her arm.

"Are you guys going to try out for the Quidditch team?" Evan asked, meeting Dorcas and Regulus in the middle of the field. "I think the Keeper and the Seeker just graduated."

Regulus shrugged. "I'm not sure I will. That kind of thing will get back to my mother fast, and she'll think I'm turning into Sirius."

"I might," Dorcas said. "I'm not sure I'm good enough, but it's worth a shot. Bat, you're good enough to be a Beater, I think."

"Dora too," Barty said, nudging her. "We would be the best power duo."

"Bone-breaking duo," Regulus said. "Everyone would rue the day Flitwick let you play."

Pandora nodded, smiling. Every memory Hermione saw with her in it made her wonder what had happened to the twins to make them practically swap personalities. 

The memory began to whirl, and Hermione smiled at it. She knew the way Dorcas went out, and she was glad that she seemed to have a good childhood.

The next scene was the inside of the Slytherin common room. Dorcas was pointing her wand at a Muggle pen and trying to transform it- into what, Hermione couldn't tell.

"Just do it without the wand," Evan said. "You're better without it."

"I know," Dorcas said. She looked over at him, smiling, but something in his expression made her smile drop.

Evan picked up his quill, eyes vacant, and began to sketch without looking at his paper. Five drawings appeared out of the seemingly random strokes– a boy who looked like Regulus, but older, reaching a hand upwards as hands drug him down into water. An older Dorcas stood angry, wand nowhere to be seen but hands outstretched, as a jet of light shot at her. Evan himself laying in Barty's arms, dead, as the blond boy screamed at the sky. Pandora looked like she was flying backwards, a cauldron in front of her. Barty's eyes were vacant but he was standing, a dementor in front of him.

Hermione didn't believe in Divination, but this might be something to prove her wrong. She knew that Luna's mum had blown herself up, Regulus had drowned in the lake and that Barty had received the Dementor's Kiss. That was the drawings on the paper.

"Ev?" Dorcas asked, pulling the notebook towards her. Her own death predicted on the page didn't seem to faze her, but the others did. "Ev?"

"What?" he asked, pulling the notebook back to him. "Did I do this?"

"Just now," she answered. "Evan, what-"

"I don't know either," he said. "I don't know why Dora would be messing around with potions. That's my thing, not hers."

Dorcas shrugged, concerned look on her face, but Evan went back to his work, so Dorcas did too.

The next memory was the Quidditch pitch. Dorcas stood there beside three older people, two boys and a girl. She didn't seem nervous, but confident in her abilities. 

The Chasers sent seven hard goals to the first potential Keeper, and he missed five. The captain just waved him off, turning to the next boy. He did even worse, missing six of the goals. The older girl saved six but missed the seventh, which was understandable as it was a professional-level shot.

Then it was Dorcas's turn. Hermione had never met the girl, yet she couldn't help but hold her breath as Dorcas saved one, two, three, four, five, six shots. The seventh was the one the older girl had missed, a feint to one side and a shot on the far goal. Dorcas managed to save that one and throw it to a Chaser halfway down the field, making it look simple and stupid that the other girl had missed it.

The captain raised an eyebrow at Dorcas, who was a third-year. "How'd you make those?" he asked.

"I practice," she said simply. "And I'm good at what I do."

"'Good at what you do,' my ass." the captain said. "Do you have your wand on you?"

"No," Dorcas answered calmly. "I don't need it. I'm perfectly capable of saving goals without help."

One of the Chasers rolled his eyes. "We can just take both of them, you know. Let Meadowes play until she gets herself injured too bad."

Hermione could actually feel Ron thrumming with anger from beside her. He was protective of all people, even ones he didn't know very well. It was Hermione's favorite thing about him, if she was honest.

The captain made a face at the Chaser who had spoken. "You're usually right, Anna, but we haven't let someone below fifth year on the team in more than a decade."

"I'll take talent over age," one of the Beaters said. "That might just be me, though."

"Not just you," muttered the Chaser who had made the most difficult shots, picking at her nails. 

"Fine," the captain said. He turned to Dorcas and her opponent. "Meadowes, congratulations, you're on the team. Sorry, Blanchet, but you're going to be our reserve Keeper for if Meadowes gets hurt."

The girl – Blanchet? – took it better than McLaggen had. She clapped Dorcas on the shoulder, and the memory began to whirl.

"So, Sirius told me you're on the Slytherin team?" Marlene said, swinging down into the seat beside Dorcas. A glance around told Hermione that they were back in the Transfiguration classroom.

"Why would Sirius know that?" Dorcas asked, pulling out an ink bottle.

"Baby Black, obviously," Marlene replied. "Him and Sirius together must know everything that goes on in the school."

"That's because of Barty, not Reg," Dorcas said, laughing a little. "For all his loudmouth tenancies, he does a surprising amount of lurking."

Marlene laughed, very clearly surprised at Dorcas's honesty. Hermione knew about her brutal honesty at that point, and she was a bit taken aback that Marlene didn't know about that.

McGonagall entered the room then, Dorcas turned to her, and the memory spun away.

The next memory showed Dorcas looking stoic in a locker room similar to the one that Hermione had spent time in because of Ron and Harry. The grip she had on her broom told Hermione that her entire attitude was probably faked. 

"Are you ready for this, Meadowes?" the only other female player asked, lacing up her boots. "Ravenclaw's really good this year thanks to those new Beaters they got. Second years, both of them, and one's a girl, but they work together better than anyone I've ever seen."

"I'm friends with the Beaters," Dorcas said dismissively. "One of them will do his level best to knock anyone off their broom except me and the other will be a problem because she's actually smart."

"Which one?" the captain asked from where he was pulling on his jersey.

"The girl," Dorcas said. "The blond one's book-smart but incredibly stupid. He's only on the team because he's powerful. Pandora's smart and strong."

"Hope you all heard that," the captain called to the team. "The girl Beater's the smarter one and the boy will just try to knock you off your broom. If you can take her out of commission, do, but try not to get taken out of the game, Dahar."

"Boring," one of the Beaters muttered. "But fine."

"Anything else, since you're friends with them?" the Chaser girl asked.

Dorcas looked deep in thought. "Levine is their lead Chaser, but he's not as good as Abbas is. They let him lead because it's his last year, but it's going to be Abbas who scores if anyone does."

"Their Seeker?" the Slytherin Seeker asked.

"Smart, as Ravenclaw Seekers usually are," Dorcas replied. "His broom is horrible and he refuses to buy another one, so he'll be slow."

The Chaser girl grinned and clapped Dorcas on the back, "Earning your keep this game, aren't you? Bet your friends are going to be real mad when they lose."

"They already know they're going to lose, Anna," Dorcas said with a grin.

"That's the spirit," the captain said. "Alright, everyone up. They're going to call Ravenclaw first because they hate us, but we'll be soon after that. Order we fly out in is as it usually is– Koz, Ford, me, Dahar, Stroll, Meadowes, and St James. It's going to be a rough game, but we have our own little secret weapon."

"Stop making jokes about my height, asshole," Dorcas muttered, but she was smiling as everyone laughed with her.

Outside the room, someone began to call out the names of the Ravenclaws. Hermione heard only two she recognized- Crouch Jr and Rosier, presumably Barty and Pandora, and then the commentator began to call names the captain had said. The Chaser girl, Anna, flew out first, kicking hard off the ground and flying through the curtain. The second Chaser followed, then the captain, then the two Beaters, then Dorcas.

Hermione felt the wind in her hair like she was flying with Dorcas. She watched her do a loop around Barty, stick her tongue out, and fly to the goalposts. 

A memory interrupted the main one, sort of like a flashback within a flashback.

Dorcas was sitting with Anna and the captain, presumably after a practice.

"Hey, Meadowes," the captain said. "If you save more goals than we score, I'll let you hit Snape for every save you make. I'll even whipe his memory for you."

"That sounds fantastic," Dorcas said, grinning at him sideways.

The memory went back to Dorcas in front of the goalposts, waiting there as a younger Madame Hooch called out to the captains. Dorcas's captain shook hands with the Ravenclaw one, looking as though his mind was already in the sky.

Hermione still didn't understand Quidditch, and the fact that the memory only showed Dorcas's saves made it harder still to follow. One flash showed a Bludger coming at Dorcas at top speed, one of the Beaters throwing her his bat, and her smacking it as hard as she could at Barty and throwing the bat back to its rightful owner. Pandora smacked Barty's head the next time she flew by.

The memory began to whirl suddenly as a bludger rocketed towards Dorcas. She looked at it in surprise and tried to dive out of the way, but the memory went black.

I need everyone's help! What do you all think about a 140-page middle-grade fantasy book that's accessible to neurodivergent kids and kids who have a hard time reading long, wordy stories? Accessible to lgbtq+ kids who feel unsafe in this current landscape where the biggest book series of all time actively doesn't want to welcome them in its world? Accessible to anyone who isn't a total bigot?

What I'm wanting to do is craft a fictional world that's welcome to anyone. Something akin to Harry Potter and his whimsical time at Hogwarts, MINUS THE QUESTIONABLE STUFF AND THE BIGOTRY! An expansive story with an insane amount of worldbuilding that doesn't involve some inherent shadiness or prejudice baked in. This isn't me saying I want to make the next big thing, I just want to create something with the passion I've had for something with my own style and voice.

If you've seen the show The Owl House, and how that series went out of its way to be a Harry Potter-esque thing without all the terrible junk all over it, that's a big inspiration for me wanting to create a world of my own after a prejudiced author tarnished the magic of one I once loved. (For real though, if you haven't seen Owl House, check it out.)

If you are a lost soul, (Someone who doesn't know what to do with their life, someone who feels like they don't belong, or someone who doesn't even have a loving family to turn to), you may find a permission slip for a summer program in your desk.

The Lost Soul Program is kinda like signing up for the Girl Scouts: Gaining confidence, finding new hobbies and friends, discovering new things about yourself, just... you know... with more rats.

Sign your name on the slip, and on the day of summer break, a school bus will appear in front of your house with other fellow lost souls riding along. Once you grab yourself a bag of clothes, you're on your way to Otherverge, The Land of Endless Nights.

Otherverge is a part of Earth where the sky is always dark and the big cities are always lit up by colorful streetlights. It's a place where the trees glow in the dark and fireflies roam all over the fields. A place where you ride giant, friendly rats as transportation. A place where up on the tallest mountain of the land, an all-knowing bat the size of a whale can tell you the deep dark secrets of why things are the way they are. You could even catch humongous shrimp that roam in the sea, with the help of a local "shrimper" man! I mean, if you want to. (I promise, that'll be the only bad pun in the story.) It's a huge comfort zone, you can do whatever!

Becoming a member of the Lost Soul Program means you can traverse all over the land and then some, earning badges for your sash by doing awesome and unbelievable things to truly find or regain a part of yourself by the end of the summer. From a desert with purple sand and talking cacti to the dark, seedy underbelly of the Raccoon Swamp, Otherverge is a place where you can find yourself while you get yourself lost.

Follow me and stay tuned for more about the story and its world. I will be introducing the main character next time and why she's signing up for the program, so keep your eyes peeled! I will very very VERY much appreciate all the help I can get to make this project a reality, as I feel like the world needs more comfort zones in their bookstores and libraries without having to turn to you-know-who.

P.S: The main character may or may not be based on another character that was done dirty by you-know-who.

Getting real tired of this real life Hermione headcanon 💀💀

It's pointless arguing about this because the hypothetical is ridiculous to begin with, BUT i sincerely doubt Hermione "Quit Divination" Granger, who could barely stand the thought of anything illogical or Luna's nonsense talk without scoffing, would agree with trans ideology - if anything she'd probably be worse than JKR! Anyways, on to debuking:

"Women who are bad are ugly" -> False: Bellatrix is probably the worst person in HP next to Voldemort and Umbridge and is described as beautiful although that beauty has been altered by her prison stay. Narcissa is beautiful (Harry's opinion that her haughty expression makes her look uglier non-whistanding). Rita Skeeter is another character whose attitude revulses Harry and the narrative voice, but she is a fashionable and highly successful journalist, i'd imagine she's got some charm. Basically, people might be good-looking but when the vibe is nefarious it affects the physique. Harry is not objective. As the queen B of Slytherin Pansy is probably pretty enough (for Malfoy to consider dating her), but since she IS so mean, we get unflattering depictions of her.

"Women who are pretty are always mean" -> False. Ginny is pretty, Hermione is pretty enough, Cho is VERY pretty, Lily is beautiful, Tonks is attractive (Harry thinks so, she's just not AS attractive as Fleur, which: no one is! Fleur is supernaturally attractive), Andromeda is as good-looking as her sisters. Even Lavender and the Patil twins, who are very pretty, aren't particularly mean, they're just normal teenagers who probably don't get along with Hermione but don't bully her or anything.

"Shy girls who aren't talkative and are smart are the good guys" -> Who is this refering to? Because Hermione is smart, but she's not shy and she's definitely talkative. In her introduction scene, she speaks non stop for half a page, so much so that Harry immediately notices (and will keep noticing) her big teeth. There aren't that many shy women in JKR's work. Smartness as a sign of goodness… sure, but then again, Umbridge or Bellatrix aren't exactly stupid. It's certain that JKR's heroines are all smart, but like, why would it be bad?

I’m happy to say that Starkid Innit…was honestly life changing for me.

It was not only super amazing to be able to see these people who have inspired me so much in person for the first time, but the entire show was spectacularly performed, it felt amazing to be surrounded by so many people who love the same thing as me, all of whom were lovely, and like…I finally get concerts now! I’ve never really thought they’d be for me, but…wow, I haven’t just enjoyed myself freely like that in…god, I don’t even know. It’s really inspired me to be more outgoing and maybe try out some new things (the band did such a good job that they’re inspiring me to do music again after having not done so for four years lmao.)

Also, some notable highlights:

- The insane cheering from the crowd all throughout, along with the fact that it surprisingly didn’t actually bother me because it was just that exciting.

- Being able to meet up with a friend and fellow Starkid fan who I haven’t seen in person for a while (I know you’re reading this so omg hiiiiiii)

- The cosplayers??? The bracelets??? Everyone was so dedicated and I love each and every one of you

- TGWDLM AS THE OPENING YEEEESSSS

- Everyone on stage looked amazing… The whole thing looked amazing….the stage…the lights….the outfits…ouuuggghhh

- On the note or outfits, the “where’d you get your shirt” bit was comedy gold

- The NPMD medley was just…yes…Jeff as Max works so well too…

- THE AUDIENCE PLAYED RICHIE AND SHOUTED I’M NOT A LOSER THAT’S SO COOL

- EVERYONE STARTED SWINGING THEIR PHONE FLASHLIGHTS IN THE WIND DURING JAMIE’S NUMBERS I LOVED IT SO MUCH (also loved the eulogy she gave for her dog)

- I got to see Starkid say trans rights in person this is the best timeline

- Corey doing Show Stopping Number…I screamed…

Harry Potter: I’m gonna be honest I project on this man far too unhealthily to NOT be biased (I’ve been going by the name Harry in IRLfor 3 and a half years now I think? Bc of this man /srs) but that man’s bi with a capital B 💕💜💙 personally I enjoy seeing trans man Harry as well but unfortunately I don’t see as many fanfics of him as such :,) shoutout to all the fanfic creators I see making Harry a trans woman tho!!! Ronald Weasley: I always struggle to pinpoint what I headcanon Ron to be. I have seen a couple of people headcannoning him as a trans man 🏳️‍⚧️- referencing Molly continuing to have children until she had a girl creates perfect levels of angst for this- but I wouldn’t say it’s a permanent aspect of him inside my head. Now that I think about him a little more- I think I might headcanon him as unlabeled more than anything sexuality wise. I think he’s into women but he wouldn’t be opposed or too surprised if he developed a crush on a guy.

Luna Lovegood: She’s a lesbian 🏳️‍🌈💕 (I will occasionally accept fanfics where she is pan and is with Neville but her being a lesbian is the main headcanon) also a little gender queer in whichever way you choose 🏳️‍⚧️ sometimes I see her as genderfluid, bigender and just generally nonbinary

Tonks: (She/they) Lesbian and Intersex 🏳️‍🌈💕💛🟣. I’m sorry but the age gap between Remus and her in the original books make me uncomfortable- as for being intersex, I think most ppl believe being a metamorphmagus means she is automatically genderfluid, while I like seeing genderfluid representation, I think ppl often fail to acknowledge the difference between sex and gender. As a metamorphmagus, she transforms her body, her gender doesn’t seem to change w it in the books. While I like the headcanons of them being genderfluid I wish more people explored that specific idea.

Severus Snape: queer? Queer. In every sense of the word. I think most people view him as bi 💕🟣💙 which I agree with (Lily and Mulciber, also absolutely headcanon him having a crush on both Lucius AND Narcissa) but also I think he’s a little bit gender funky- I mean just look at him- no one who stands like that isn’t just cis /ref. Sev absolutely painted his nails and did eyeliner, he absolutely wore a floor length black skirt and absolutely had days where mister hit wrong in all the right places and everyone in her group helped by doing tiny things like braiding her hair and putting bat clips in it for fun 🏳️‍⚧️

I also will not take requests for full length fanfic books. I come up with the ideas for those myself.

For those wondering about the Creep X Creep stuff, I genuinely don't think any of the creeps would make good couples. Same with MHA, I don't "ship" any of the characters I write for. Same with Maven X Canon. He's an ass to all of them, and Mare would never go back to him even reformed (imo).

I also don't know enough about how yandere characters work, so until I figure that how I won't write for it. Same with polyam; I myself am not poly and I feel I don't know enough about that to really write for it. Nothing against poly people of course.

I will typically keep anything PG gender neutral with no physical descriptors. In smut, I will write for both AMAB and AFAB readers so you must specify in your request along with the pronouns you want me to use. If you don't specify the pronouns, I'll use they/them. If you don't specify the sex, I can only write smut where the reader isn't receiving anything. Specifying could mean describing the parts they have in the request or using the pronouns as well.

So for the way I will write things is if you ask "(Male character) X female reader" I will not write it for a female reader, I will write it gender neutral. However, I will write wlw so if you ask "(Female character) x female reader" I will write it. I will write any character x male reader specifically because male readers dont get shit and even when we do a good bit of it is written by 13 year old girls who fetishize us (speaking from experience) and it's obvious; unless that is a lesbian character, I will write it with a male reader. This is again because female readers tend to get a lot more fanfiction written for them and its tiring for male readers, along with gn and trans readers too. Will I write specifically for trans women? Trans women barely get fics too, however if it's a request that doesn't have anything to do with what your agab (assigned gender at birth) is, then there's no reason for me to write it. You would be referred to and written like a cis woman would be. Smut is different, but I already talked about that.

For the creeps, I will eventually write out my basic HCs for all the ones I write for (basic as in age, name, height, likes, dislikes, etc.).
