Inspired by my own post lol. Transfem Sanji headcanons are rightfully popular but have we ever thought about Zoro transing her gender in a Yamato-esque way, as in, 'I Just Decided To As A Part Of My Goals.' I just felt like Trans Sanji would be totally scandalized by that. And I enjoyed the thought so much I had to draw it.

Transfem Abed, for Anon.

So

i tried an angstier version of transfem Abed, while exploring how would the caracter experience gender if she were transfem. I read Abed as agender, but in this AU, she is also kind of genderfluid. I wanted to explore how transition can be a way to gain agency over yourself, to make use of your "will of power" if you will. A mean of self determination . Gender can be as alienating as empowering the moment you start defining it. Idk, i thought it fits with how Abed filters everything through TV.

Also i'm using the I narrator but this isn't me talking, this is Abed lol

Valentine's Day - Leander

leander's first valentine's day with sebastian - and his first valentine's day since his transition. this is just him getting ready for his date, i might write the actual date later hehe.

let's ignore that this is 2 days late!

“Phillip… I don’t know about this.” Leander mutters. He’s in the 6th year Gryffindor boys’ dorms, standing in front of a full-length bronze mirror. He inspects his outfit, a set of very fancy black dress robes that are quite well fitting, despite being his brother’s hand-me-downs.

Phillip, sprawled across his bed, looks up from the book he’s been reading. “Oh, please. You look great.” 

Leander turns in front of the mirror, going over his robes again. “I feel somewhat overdressed. It’s just tea in Hogsmeade, not the bloody Yule Ball.”

“Yes, but it’s your first date, and your first Valentine’s together! It’s a massive deal!”

That, notably, does not help Leander’s nerves in the slightest. “Well… I suppose… but… won’t he think it’s a bit much?” He shrugs. “I don’t want to look… I dunno, stupid.”

Phillip gets up and comes to stand behind him, clapping a hand on Leander’s shoulder. “He’s already agreed to go out with you, hasn’t he? Doesn’t matter what else you do.”

“Is that how this works? I don’t think that’s how this works.”

“It’s not like he’s going to change his mind or something.”

Leander whips around, brown eyes wide. “Do you think he would?!”

“What? No. No! Ah, cripes, I shouldn’t have said that, should I?” Phillip sighs as Leander starts pacing back and forth. He almost trips over his robe a few times as he does, running his fingers through his hair. 

“But he might. I would, if I was him. I mean, he could surely do better!” Leander is almost hyperventilating now. “He could at the very least be with someone who’s a real boy!”

Phillip grabs him by the shoulders, stopping his pacing. “Now that is absolute nonsense, Leander. You’re just as much a boy as any other.”

“But-”

“No buts.”

Leander tries to take his brother’s words to heart. Really, he does, but for the past handful of weeks- since the date was planned, in fact- he’s had the same nagging doubts about not being good enough. It’s not just because he has a date with the Sebastian Sallow, who is most certainly the most attractive boy in their year, but he’s never been on a date as a boy. Well, he’s never been on a date, full stop, but even so. 

As he looks over himself again, he can’t help but feel strange. Surely, he doesn’t look like a ‘real’ boy… he must just look like he’s awkwardly playing dress-up, trying to be something he’s not.

“If… I dunno, if you were to see me around… and you didn’t know… would you assume I’m-?”

“What? An absolute nerd? Yes, actually.”

In spite of himself, Leander giggles. It’s not even funny, exactly, yet it takes some of the edge off. “You know what I mean.”

“Honestly? No. But even if I could, who cares? You have a date with Sebastian. A random judgmental bint can’t take that away from you.”

Leander nods. “I suppose.”

Phillip pats his head. “See? Nothing to worry about. Except, well… about your hair…”

Leander frowns. “What’s wrong with it?”

“You always wear it like that. Don’t you want to try something new?” Phillip starts messing with Leander’s hair, but Leander quickly swats his hands away.

“Quit it! I like it like this!”

“I’m only saying-”

“Phillip.”

He puts his hands up and backs off. “Fine, fine. Have it your way.”

Leander re-styles his hair, turning back to the mirror one last time. “Perhaps I should just tell him I’m ill and can’t go.”

“C’mon, you don’t really want to do that, do you?”

“...No.”

“Exactly.” Phillip turns Leander around to fix his tie for him. “You’ve been waiting for this for ages. So go, have fun. Don’t do anything I would do.  And if anyone gives you a hard time, I’ll sicc Lily on them.”

“... I wish she were here right now.”

“Hey, so do I, but unlike the pair of us, she’s got a job. And a life. Now go.”

I think Boy Gender might have saved Sora Takenouchi (I'm projecting, this post was made by a man dot jpeg, etc).

So yeah- I'm rotating a trans Sora AU. And it's teaching me the difference between AU, meta, and headcanon. Like it seems obvious but the lines have blurred over the years. And it's so magical and freeing to say "this is an AU and it's my playground". That said, there are meta elements in this post. So I tagged it as such. But it's mostly AU.

I say this bullshit because Sora's entire arc in Adventure is about reconciling with her mother and her femininity. That's how her story was always intended to be written. Her job in the epilogue is the final culmination of that. I can see how all of that was intended to work. Even if I don't personally like it.

But there's like. Such fertile ground for this AU. How accepting that feminine role drove Sora further and further into the background, away from her friends. And into a state so depressingly finalized that her Digivice spawned a timer, separating her from Biyomon. And how she worked best with everyone else when in a "take charge" role- albeit as "team mom", but refusing to sit on the sidelines based on gender.

There's also how Biyomon's evolutions get progressively masculine, and Biyomon is part of Sora's soul. Like I don't know how Phoenixmon fits into that. But look at this-

The instant Biyomon reaches her Champion form, she takes on a less traditionally feminine shape. And Garudamon is more masculine than feminine in build. Plus- and I only researched this for five seconds so I could be wrong- "Garuda," is also a male Hindu deity (and also a shape shifter and protector- just like a Digimon partner!). In tri, Birdramon has more pronounced eyelashes, the same way Minnie Mouse has eyelashes to denote her gender. But other than that...

Also this gives me the opportunity to mess around with Crests and how they work. Like, even in this AU, Sora would have the Crest of Love. I feel like its nature as compassion and caring will always be relevant to the character. But like. Wouldn't it be cool if the Crests themselves evolved? Like if the design changed with new revelations as the characters aged? Still the same in color and concept, but representing a more mature person.

For most of the Adventure crew, this would be standard character development stuff. For Sora? Gender.

I'd plant the seeds in Adventure, going more into detail as to what Sora's mother represents- traditional femininity- and how that wouldn't be merely annoying, but wrong. Like puppet strings that wind around the neck. I don't think Sora would have the words for that sensation yet. But the wrongness would be there. Even through forgiveness. And meeting halfway.

But in 02, Sora would realize where those feelings come from. Why the soccer pitch feels like home, and the flower shop a cage. I need more details but it's 4 AM and this is a general outline. But basically...

The 02 gang would get in trouble (after the ability to Digivice to Ultimate/Mega is restored to the OG gang). Only Sora could save them, due to being the only one available to go on the field. The enemy? A fuckton of Blossomon. For the symbolism. But mainly, there's too many for the 02 characters to handle, and they're split in a configuration where Jogress to Imperialdramon is impossible. Basically, a situation engineered so only Sora can resolve it.

Garudamon fights her hardest. But the numbers are too intense even for her. A Blossomon wraps its vines around Garudamon, trapping her. And to Sora, that vine on her partner's neck just seems so familiar.

Blossomon spits generic villain taunts about knowing one's place. This prompts Sora to peel back the layers of her own life. She thought her place was at her mother's flower shop. That's what forgiveness meant, right? But reconciliation is a two way street. She gave and gave and received nothing.

Not for the ache in her heart.

Not for the wrongness in her body.

Not for the vines choking her life.

And digging into her own neglected heart, she'd discover the soul of a man. It would be frightening and confusing. But it would also hold the strength she needs to win this battle.

That he needs to protect everyone.

And the Crest of Love within him would glow. Its shape would become less feminine, but still represent the love that Sora possesses. Like hands holding, or a stylized stone- the rock the others can rely on.

And of course Garudamon would digivolve- into Phoenixmon or something else- and save the day. Leaving Sora confused and shaken. He might even try to deny what happened. But the Crests never lie, and their power does not come from nothing.

So by tri., he'd be more masc-presenting (excluding school uniforms) as his mother falters. But Sora would hold out hope. And continue to love. So by Kizuna, he's met halfway at last, and can openly live as who he was always meant to be.

I do like the idea of Crest evolution in general and might revisit it. But for now this is loose word-vomit and more of wish fulfillment than anything substantial.

Uhm. Uhm. Has anyone ever thought about... Well wait you know how Yamato decided to become a man like Oden... and basically seemed to have no attachment to his assigned gender at all... You know how I have said I see the same complete unattachment to gender... in Zoro....

What if.... Zoro, who does not care about being a boy or a man at all, decides to become a woman... to prove to Kuina's spirit and the world that being a woman doesn't mean you cant be the strongest?

I think she would pursue medical transition as part of proving her point, ie, "see Kuina getting boobs would not have stopped you", and would be getting estrogen deliveries by bird lol. Which has potential to be a comically mysterious thing that they all try and fail to uncover the truth of. She would definitely fuck with them about it and give them all sounds of crazy red herrings. Despite not even really caring if they know, she trusts them, literally it's just for fun.

I think the clearest change this would cause to Strawhat dynamics is definitely her relationship with Nami. We all know how Nami feels about women. And being protected by them.... And I definitely see trans Zoro as a butch lesbian. ZoNa Yuri would be INTENSELY HOT AND ROMANTIC. Why haven't I seen this before actually it feels like it should be obvious.

If we include a tgirl Sanji headcanon as I know is much more popular (rightly so!) I think it would definitely help her coming out journey. I mean, to have someone on the ship who is already Doing That, would be monumental. If you keep their antagonistic relationship (as I would prefer to, at least in the beginning) then there is a lot of comedy potential as well as the obvious angst. Like I feel like finding out that Zoro is trans would definitely crack Sanji's egg but then it's like. Oh my god everyone is going to think I'm copying her. (<- no one would think this, she is crazy.)

It could be really fun!!!!! Think about it.....
