[Video] Front-line view of the heavy clashes with the riot police during the general strike for the deadliest-ever train crash in Greece
Thursday, 16 March 2023, Athens, Greece. Tens of thousands of protesters were marching through the city centre when suddenly and for absolutely no reason the riot police began to attack unarmed protesters, throwing tear gas canisters and flash-bang grenades into the crowd, underneath Syntagma Square, the main square of the city next to the greek parliament. The crowd started to run to escape from the tear gas fumes while the riot police were launching non-stop attacks until they reached Hotel Grande Bretagne where they were met with a barrage of molotovs, hurled by anarchists, as seen in the video.
*The unprovoked initial police attack can be seen at

People in Greece are still in mourning, still in shock, following the death of 57 people in a train crash at Tempe, the deadliest in the country and one of the worst in Europe.
16 days later the dead passengers, mainly young students, are still being remembered and people continue to protest against the crime executed by the neoliberal government and a private company, that chose to sacrifice passenger safety for profit, resulting in a passenger service train, carrying more than 350 people, ramming into a freight train, just before midnight on Tuesday 28 February 2023, after they ended up on the same track mainly due to the lack of technical equipment and the incompetence of the stationmaster, causing the front carriages to burst into flames.
Ongoing revelations of staff shortages and substandard equipment have revealed the dangerous state of the privatized rail network. It was indeed an accident waiting to happen.
For 16 days, almost all protests in Athens have been brutally attacked by the so-called “mourning” riot police, under the orders of Mitsotakis government that pretends to care, while they even close down all metro stations around a protest's starting point to deter people from joining them. Such is the government's sincerity and repentance for the blood of 57 people on their hands.
Just a few months before the parliamentary elections, the situation in Greece is unpredictable in a place where there is no justice, nor peace.

"T.T.C. CAR OPERATOR COMMITTED FOR TRIAL," Toronto Star. March 8, 1934. Page 3. --- Accused of Endangering Safety of Persons - Charge Follows Crash ---- Alfred Kinsman. T.T.C. one-man car operator, charged with endangering the safety of persons, was committed to trial by Magistrate Browne in police court this morning. Bail was set at $500.
The charge arose out of a collision that involved an oil truck and a street car on the morning of Feb. 12, at the corner of Parliament and Dundas Sts.
"I got on a street car the morning of Feb. 12 at Pape and Danforth Ave.," testified Mary Heppleston. "I paid my fare and got a seat. We were going along Dundas to Parliament St. and we stopped at Parliament to pick up a passenger. When we started up again I felt a collision and was thrown across the street car back against the seat again and then fell on the floor and someone fell on me." She said she received injuries to her back, chest, ribs and side, and was still taking treatment for them.
"No one asked us if we were hurt. The inspector took over the car."
"I was driving north on Parliament St. to Rosedale," said a truck driver for a big oil company. saw this car stopped, picking up passengers. I saw the car start up again and I had to swing to the west to avoid it but its front end hit the rear of my truck."
"What happened to both vehicles?" queried the crown. "The truck had the pipes at the back broken and the street car was rocked." "The first thing I did," said witness, "was to shut the pipes to prevent the oil going all over the street." Kinsman, he said, didn't leave the scene of the accident.
Pavement Was Wet "Was the pavement slippery?" "It was wet."
"In reality you hit the street car," declared Defence Consel I. S. Fairty. "You were coming at such a high rate of speed that you skidded into the side of the street car."
"It is impossible to go at a high rate of speed in a truck as heavy as that," retorted witness. "I was going at about 10 or 13 miles per hour."
Witness admitted he had not driven that type of truck very long.
"I was just going to cross over Parliament St. ahead of the street car when I saw this truck coming north," said George Goddard, a witness, who was driving his own car. "I stopped and I saw this truck swing west in order to miss hitting the street car, but his rear end swung over and hit the side of the street car."
Witness said that he had stopped when he saw the truck coming, although the street car didn't.
Cross-examined, witness said the truck had "skidded" into the side.
Defence contended that there was no case established. Mr. Browne decided otherwise. "He will be committed for trial."
"Don't get into trouble again in that time, or I will bring you back and send you down to the reformatory." Magistrate Browne warned Parkyn Coates, 17, charged with theft, as he put him on probation for two years. He was caught sleeping in the basement of an unoccupied house. He had in his possession a silver cigarette case that he said he stole out of a parked car.
"He has no record, but he has been causing trouble," declared Crown Attorney C. L. Snyder. "He has the habit of running away from home." His father admitted accused had been in juvenile court several times before.
"Do you think a mental examination is necessary?" queried the bench. "No." replied the father.
"Well, he is young yet. I will give him a chance and put him on probation," decided Magistrate Browne.

Out of curiosity, what made you decide Raph needed two dragons in the spitfire au? Also, is there an easy way to tell Crash and Bash apart? Thanks!
Knew this question was eventually coming (;゙゚ω゚) warning: long post
Ok story time, I see a lot of myself in Raph as a character. For the first half of my childhood I was the eldest. I was the roll model and figure my younger siblings looked up to or came to for guidance. Then in the later years of my childhood I got an older step sibling, suddenly I became a middle child. The dynamic of my family shifted to where I had grown up the eldest but then was sort of allowed to be myself and more free once I became a middle child. So in a way, I grew up understanding the two sides of looking up to an older sibling and what it feels like to be that older sibling.
When I first watched rottmnt I instantly felt a connection to Ralph’s character. An older sibling figure that dotes on his brothers but is also a lovable goofball. I understood his position in the family on a deeper level. Someone who wears the hat of both responsible sibling but also expressive idiot. I knew he was going to be someone in my au that his power would be shaped on that perceived position in the family.
The canon show doesn’t really dive into the origin of the mystic weapons or the “rules” around mystic magic with the boys. I think I’ve mentioned it somewhere else but the way I see their mystic abilities is that it’s an extension of themselves, a reflection of their power and character. So seeing how I view Raph as someone who holds himself responsible for his brothers but is also still running around doing stupid things with them, I wanted to reflect that duo mindset in his ninpo.
Sorry for the long post, hope this makes sense! (Here’s some Crash & Bash helpful pointers)

The Trainee Trio's visit on The Island Of Sodor took an unwelcome turn of events after a lazy signalman's negligence led poor Brewster to a head-on collision with Thomas The Tank Engine. Although Thomas' coaches Annie and Clarabel were thankfully empty, the damage done was quite horrendous. This will be an awkward story to tell Wilson and Koko once they're back on the rails...

hi all, it's my first time posting one of my art products for sale and it's a digital download/printable postcard where all profits go towards the fundraiser of Palestinian artist Eman Hammad. since Gumroad does take at least a 10% processing fee, I encourage people to give to her fundraiser directly first and foremost, but every little bit helps. 💙 Her Fundraiser Postcard ($2)

bullrider's verse arm loss is a result of sepsis – bacterial infection received in after having a severe arm fracture post bull ride. He gets checked by medical technicians, but neglects going to the hospital as follow-up due to having walked off broke bones before and mind hazey from the adrenaline + post ride drinking and smoking. Infection symptoms sets in 12 hours later, waking up drenched with fever. Between attempting to waving it off as getting sick, and the time it takes for him to find somebody + the transit to get to a medical treatment center, the rate of saving the arm has fallen considerably.

"MOTORMAN'S ARREST FOLLOWS COLLISION," Toronto Globe. September 10, 1913. Page 8. ---- Patrick Nolan Charged With Intoxication ---- HIS CAR WAS CROWDED ----- Passengers Escape Injury - Man Also Alleged to Have Assaulted Inspector Boville - Remarkable That Serious Accident Was Avoided. ---- After assaulting Inspector Boville of the Street Railway, it is alleged, and narrowly escaping a serious collision which might have resulted, Patrick Nolan, 29 Yorkville avenue, was arrested by Constable McLaughlin last night at the corner of Queen street and Spadina avenue and charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a Belt Line car. It was said that he had not become sober at 10 o'clock last night, although he was arrested at 5.30 a.m.
Nolan was always regarded as a sober man by the Street Railway Co., and when he left the car barns at Yorkville avenue last night he did not seem intoxicated. His car was carrying crowds in the early evening when the traffic was very heavy. As he came down Spadina avenue the car, it is claimed, was travelling at a rapid rate, and at some of the street car stops it is said that it was halted with difficulty when the passengers or the conductor gave the required signal. Passing St. Patrick street the car missed passengers who were awaiting to get on. Nolan, however, apparently realized his condition, and as he came to Queen street made an effort to stop the car.
Collision at Crossing. Just as the car was about to cross Queen street Constable McLaughlin, who was on traffic duty at the intersection, signalled for an eastbound Queen car to cross the corner. The conductor of the Queen car started and was travelling slowly over the intersection when the Belt Line car struck the vestibule but did little damage.
When the collision occurred Inspector Boville, who was also standing at the intersection, left his post to investigate Nolan jumped from his car and when Inspector Boville asked him for an explanation of the accident the motorman is said to have attacked him. The sight caused crowds to gather and traffic became congested. Constable McLaughlin stepped in and before the tight had progressed very far he arrested the motorman on a charge of drunken Inspector Boville was obliged to take Nolan's place and drive the car until a relief man could be summoned.
When the condition of the man considered police think it was extremely fortunate that a serious accident did not result.
