Robert Poss — Drones, Songs, and Fairy Dust (Trace Elements)
Tumblr media
youtube
Robert Poss is best known for his work with Band of Susans, a late 1980s-early 1990s guitar-centric no wave band that came up in the same general scene and time frame as Sonic Youth and Swans. Band of Susans went through a number of configurations, but it never had fewer than three guitarists at a time. Consider Poss the primer inter pares (or first among equals) in the band’s squalling wall of guitars.
Now a few decades and a handful of solo albums on, Poss is still fascinated by the possibilities of amplification and feedback, though perhaps in a more lyrical, less confrontational way than in his youth.
Poss has titled this album Drones, Songs, and Fairy Dust, and indeed, it includes all of the above. Though some tracks favor one element or the other, the lines are not always so sharply delineated. There are drones in the more structured songs, and often, the lilt of melody in even the abstract instrumentals. (I’ll leave discerning “fairy dust” to others.)
Listen, for instance, to the way “Skibbereen Drive” blasts out distorted guitar chords, then surrounds them in flickering wah tones, all the while maintaining a steady, anthemic march. Or how “Out of the Fairy Dust” floats a lucid melody over seething, shifting beds of timber, a folk song living in an ambient wash. “Skew Forest” is maybe the purest expression of feedback sculpture, but even this track follows a wandering narrative line. Poss is thinking hard about texture and atmosphere but not to the exclusion of a good hook.
In the same way, the song-like tracks coruscate with detuned blare, the wall of guitar distortion almost, but not quite, burying the vocals in “Secrets, Chapter and Verse.” “It’s Always Further Than It Seems” has the rough romanticism of post-punk turning into college rock—first run Burma and very early R.E.M. come to mind—but there’s a haze and roar even in this well-shaped song.
As an album, Songs, Drones and Fairy Dust runs a bit long, piling up the brief experiments and longer compositions as Poss tries out new things. You might not want to listen all the way through very often (or you might) but pick any point on this extensive collection and you’ll find some very compelling guitar sounds, bending subtly or overtly towards song.

Restore 100 Trace-Element
pH means the Potential of hydrogen it measures how acidic water is. It ranges from 0 to 14. If your pH level is less than 7 that means it’s acidity and when it is about 7 then it’s neutral. The human body’s pH lies between 7.35 to 7.45. If your pH level drops to 6.9 then you’ll be in a coma, when it is 6.8 surely you’ll die ( same if your pH level rises to 7.8)
So now you may ask how do you control or restore your pH level and the answer will be like:
Try to avoid high pH level soap, If you use them to clean your vaginal area it will increase your vaginal pH level.
Try to change tampons regularly
Taking probiotic supplements.
So if you want to balance your body pH level you should follow the doctor’s advice. If you are taking a health supplement you may take
Restore 100 Trace-Element.
Foodeva has products which will help you stay healthy and fit.

Significance of Trace Element Quantities in Osteomyelitis and Osteosarcoma_Crimson Publishers
Significance of Trace Element Quantities in Osteomyelitis and Osteosarcoma by Vladimir Zaichick in Novel Approaches in Cancer Study
Tumblr media
To clarify the role of trace elements (TE) in the etiology and the pathogenesis of osteomyelitis (OM) and osteosarcoma (OS), a nondestructive neutron activation analysis were performed. The Ag, Co, Cr, Fe, Hg, Rb, Sb, Se, and Zn contents were measured in three groups of samples: normal bone samples from 27 persons with intact bone, and also in samples, obtained from open biopsies or after operation of 10 patients with OM and 27 patients with OS. The difference in the results between TE contents in the three groups was evaluated by the parametric Student’s t-test and non-parametric Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney U-test. In the OM tissue the mean contents of Co, Cr, Fe, Se, and Zn are respectively 1.8, 1.7, 1.8, 1.7, and 1.5 times higher than those in normal bone tissues In the OS tissue the mean mass fractions of Co, Cr, Fe, Sb, Se, and Zn are respectively 4.6, 2.0, 4.8 2.4, 11.0, and 2.4 times higher while the mean mass fraction of Rb is more than 40% lower than in normal bone tissues. In the OS tissue the mean mass fractions of Co, Fe, Se, and Zn are significantly higher (2.6, 2.6, 6.2, and 1.6 times, respectively) and the mean mass fraction of Rb is more than 2 times lower than in inflamed bone. In addition, many inter-correlations between TE contents found in the control group were no longer evident in the inflamed and tumor transformed bone. Thus, considerable changes in TE content and their relationships were found in OM and OS and possible causes and effects of these alterations are discussed.

« Let the form be a garden in wild wilderness, a hyacinth language, a turning in wind when marginal influences disrupt the flow.
Build thought as a bee does, one concern at a time, a hexagonal symmetry deep in the structure or explore the foundation
of a derelict house, its cellarhole cracked by bracken and trees—with daffodils blooming alongside the door, and off in the woods, sometimes
a forsythia. And a carrion beetle to bury the mouse, the skeletal memories of things that are gone; or hidden, like antlers, deep in the pines
where branches are tossed,  a path to the edge of recorded time, that stops at a place where the language is lost. »

trace elements pages 171-172 - a nightmare gone wrong
Transcription:
“Do it.” Came the voice, this time not from inside of her skull but behind her. Before she had time to turn around, a figure stepped into view from behind her, moving across from her at the other side of the table. Though she couldn’t see the figure’s face, Dextera watched an arm reach down and grip her brother by the chin, yanking his head up to face whatever had grabbed him. Before she looked up, Dextera recognized the shade of red on the fingernails.
“Mother?”
“Are you listening to me, Dextera?” Her mother’s voice rang inside of her ears. “Do it!” “Do what?” She asked, her voice breaking. Holding her hands in front of her face, she forced herself to swallow so she couldn’t cry out; when before her right hand had been empty, now she was gripping a cleaver stained with long-forgotten blood that had gone brown with age. Dextera commanded her hand to let go, but the object appeared cemented in her grip.
Cal’s shattered voice made her blood run cold.
“Please don’t hurt me…” He whispered to her, pleading at her with his eyes.
“He’s ugly. Disgusting. He isn’t really a part of our family, not when he spends half his time with his piece of shit father,” her mother snarled, gripping Cal’s chin so tightly that thin lines of blood began portioning his face into pieces. Cal cried out and delivered something that she knew was meant to be speech, but she could no longer hear his voice.
“Don’t end up like him, Dextera. You are my perfect child. My favorite child. My only child. Cut off the imperfection, so we can all be happy.” Her mother gestured towards Cal’s twitching wrist on the table, trying desperately to retract but held to the metal with her mother’s grip pinning him to its surface.
“Dex, please… please don’t hurt me. I’m just a kid… I’m your little brother, Dex, I love you!”
Suddenly she could hear him again, his voice louder than even her own thoughts.
“I have to,” she felt herself say. When she looked up again, she could see her mother’s face; a perfect image of the woman she was in photos. Dextera couldn’t see a single sign of malice in her glare-- it was the look she gave her when she was doing something right.
In the next motion, the cleaver came down.

                        Chromium: The Lesser Known Micronutrient
Chromium is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize the fats and carbohydrates from the foods we eat. It also aids in the metabolism of insulin and the synthesis of cholesterol. Here we delve deeper into what Chromium does for our body and explore how we can avoid its deficiency. Read on!
Why Is Chromium Important For Us? Although it’s normally present in trace amounts in the human body, chromium is a mineral that plays a very important role in glucose balance and metabolism in the body. Chromium acts as an essential nutrient that works to break down glucose and fat while helping to balance insulin levels. Bones, kidney, spleen and liver contain the highest amount of chromium in the body.
Boosts Metabolism Chromium is thought to interact with a polypeptide in our body which in turn amplifies the action of insulin inside our body. This triggers a series of metabolic reactions, breaking down fats and proteins in our body and increasing our body’s energy levels.
Improves Brain Health Cognitive decline is an integral part of the ageing process. Chromium helps modulate certain aspects of brain function at the neurochemical level which then leads to increased brain activity even as the brain ages.  It also promotes hypothalamic functions, which prevent the negative effects of ageing on the brain and its functions. Read how proteins affect brain health here!

Supports Heart Health Chromium, in combination with other trace elements and vitamins, prevent atherosclerosis by lowering blood cholesterol levels, thus preventing cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Chromium picolinate, a stable and highly bioavailable form of chromium, has been shown to reduce insulin resistance and to help reduce the risk of CVD and type 2 diabetes.
Read about type 1 and type 2 diabetes here!
Promotes Healthy Bones Since the presence of Chromium has an effect on cellular metabolism, it promotes the production of collagen by our bone-building cells (called osteoblasts) and moderates bone breakdown (resorption). It also helps retain calcium in the bones by reducing the loss of calcium through the urine.
Chromium Deficiency Symptoms Numerous studies have shown that a strong association exists between chromium deficiency, high blood insulin, and elevated blood cholesterol levels. Chromium deficiency may lead to impaired insulin function, inhibition of protein synthesis, energy production and even to type 2 diabetes.
Know how you can manage diabetes here!
Can Excess Chromium Be Unhealthy As Well?
There are no adverse effects of consuming excess chromium. However, people with kidney or liver disease may be more vulnerable and should avoid very high intake of chromium above recommended doses, as a precaution. The Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine has not established a Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for chromium.
Chromium taken in extremely high amounts can accumulate in tissue and impair rather than enhance the effectiveness of insulin.  It can also irritate the stomach and cause rapid heartbeat, light-headedness and skin rashes.
How To Include Chromium In Your Diet? Many of the food ingredients which are integral parts of the Indian diet have considerable amounts of chromium in them.  Some of the most chromium-rich foods are broccoli, grape juice, orange juice, tomato, garlic, basil, banana, oats, green beans, eggs and beef. Chromium is also present in brewer’s yeast, whole wheat bread, red wine and some spices.
Some common chromium-rich dishes are banana smoothie,  broccoli soup, steamed broccoli, broccoli fry,  potato fry, egg bhurji, egg curry, green bean stir fry and many more. You can also add butter, black pepper and molasses to different dishes as they also contain chromium.
For individuals who must adhere to restrictive diets, beverage-based chromium consumption is an option. Tap water often contains chromium and is a sufficient source in most cases.
Daily Recommendation
Chromium is stored in the blood and hair. There is no official Recommended Daily Allowance for chromium, but the Food and Nutrition Board at the Institute of Medicine recommends 0.2 mcg – 5.5 mcg for infants aged 0 – 12 months, 11 mcg – 25 mcg for children aged 1 – 13 years and 20 mcg – 35 mcg for individuals aged 14 years and above.
