Thinking about Mav being inverted and flipping off that MiG, following the original TG1986 script, Goose would’ve had a lot cooler angle to take that polaroid from.

Just imagine Cougar suffering from vertigo, not knowing what direction he’s in and Goose is in the backseat like, “Hold on I got to get a picture, this is badass”

if they didn’t want me to believe that rooster and hangman were in love then maybe they shouldn’t have included significant scenes of them parting and reuniting that directly parallel each other… just a thought.

Some things I found interesting about Rooster and Hangman's helmets in TG:M:

Rooster's helmet has a line crossing out all of the letters- this seems to nod to Hangman's helmet, which is a game of hangman

none of the letters used in the word "rooster" are in the word "hangman" hence why the letters are crossed out.

The font on Hangman's helmet is also pretty cool-

Thinking about Maverick coming home from a deployment- probably one he got sent on because he did something stupid- and he's exhausted and disorientated and feeling a little uncharacteristically defeated.

But this is the first time he's coming home to a man he can actually, openly call his and that man is waiting right there, out of his admiral uniform and taking one of the days off he only takes once in a blue moon. He's got a bunch of flowers for him and he's leaning on the hood of his car, grinning, waiting for his pilot to come home.

And Maverick just forgets how tired he is and how he fucked up and can't seem to stop fucking up. He grins and drops his bags and just sprints across the dock into Ice's arms. And for the first time ever they can just kiss and not care whose looking. For the first time, everyone can know that no matter how much he messes up, Maverick's got someone waiting for him.

Ughhhhh the way Hangman says he’s grown into it but it’s obviously still a touchy subject and he tries so hard to deflect and switch the topic….they absolutely are exes there’s absolutely no way that amount of tension and hatred could’ve been due to anything else but lost love

Another thing I love about the original TG1986 script was a lot of Goose’s lines in the beginning. It really intensifies my love of Goose being Cougars RIO at the start of the film instead of Mav
