Sometimes I think about how Jake would have given everything and followed Bradley anywhere, but Bradley wasn't ready for it and somehow convinced Jake that it was all his fault and he started to really believe that he was the one leaving Bradley hanging to the point that he fully embraced that personality and now everyone hates him for it.

It's kind of crazy and surreal that, like, [Joan Baez and I] have each other's numbers and text occasionally. I kind of, like, can't believe that in and of itself. [x]

so i was thinking about part time soulmate a lot recently bc i love love love that jake and bradley are such assholes to each other. they're the worst. bradley will spent the next x years pretending jake is cheating on him in the middle of a random restaurant and then call it a "anniversary of us" and then jake will fake cry in front of someone about how bradley is cheating on him as a soulmate. the two of them cause so many issues for each other but they have fun, and they enjoy it and they're fucking insane about each other in maybe not a good way but it weirdly works for them because they push, they compete. neither of them can ever relax bc the other one pushes even more and it actually takes them awhile to learn about the slow moments. but they do get there because they refuse to be bad at this.

and so they're the worst but then, other times?

bradley meeting jake's parents and just instantly being the biggest fucking asshole ever. casually dropping the mention that his godparents aren't soulmates but they love each other and their soulmates are their best friends because love comes in many forms. how it's not romantic, but it is love.

and then maybe jake is close to his sisters. but bradley is gonna be wary of them right. because they might've showed up at the end, but they hadn't been there in the beginning and bradley can see the damage that came from jake raising himself and bradley knows what that is like because his mom was sick and his uncles were deployed and so he had to do a bit of that himself.

and jake finds out about the papers, and bradley's history and instantly he is just Done with ice and mav, and bradley can try and make him move on, but jake never fucking will. he remembers. he never forgets. and forgiveness is reserved for a few people and ice and mav have a while to go before they get there.

so the might be the worst to each other. but they're soulmates, and love does find a way for them. and jake can call bradley slow and lazy and bradley can call jake a hangman leading them to their graves, but woe be to anyone else who does that.

idk, jake and bradley who had kinda the worst upbringings despite having a lot of love surrounding them finding each other and being instantly, completely insane for each other and feral in their protection of each other.
