random but what's ur fic writing process? usually i only write at like 1am-5am in the dark

I definitely hit my stride at night! the amount of times I've stayed up to an unreasonable hour to get something out on the page before I lose it is more than prob healthy

for the first draft I listen to songs which resonate with the "vibe" of the fic particularly if an angstier piece and I like to listen to certain songs on repeat

will write what part of the piece speaks to me at the moment and fill in the blanks from there; this tends to look like start / arc / end scaffolding

reread a lot of the same wip to make sure the start/arc/end still works!

editing has to be done in complete silence bc i'm catching verb tense fuck ups everywhere 💀

pull pieces out and move them around to try to see if the piece changes or hits harder some way

i keep a running doc for ships of paragraphs or lines I really lke! the Flintwood one I have is 40+ pages long for example lol

Sometimes Jake flies in a holding pattern for a visit. Rooster still kisses him the same, like Jake is tender and not a killing thing, not a weapon sharpened through orders and a propensity to say yes to the worst assignments. He holds Jake’s face and doesn’t say what is reflected in his eyes. Understands the rules written on this side of the sand, though he wants to keep playing in between them.
