I have been rotating them in my head like a rotisserie chicken for what feels like weeks now. Seems I am chronically not okay about this story, and the only way I could think to show my love (without just sending an endless wailing voice note) was to draw it.

Bradley’s taken back to the dim hallway of their shared apartment, a lie slipping out of Jake’s mouth smoother than silk. That desperation that was only revealed after, he feels it now in a different hallway on the insatiable ocean that had already claimed him once. Jake and Bradley do a number on each other and remain angrily invested.

They fuck, fight, fall in love, and figure their shit out. Not all in that order but somehow all at once – which is hard enough already, without the added complexity of not being able to remember you're soulmates.

“You wanna head out?” Rooster asks, leaning against the bar with the guitar still in his arms. 

Jake has seen it time and time again, rarely directed at him – same old schtick, an offer after a rousing chorus. He ignores how much he’s liked watching those talented fingers dance over the strings tonight. Their last hop is tomorrow and Jake’s got enough of a lead to sit comfortably, barring any distractions. Bradley is just that. 

“I’m good,” Jake says. His nerves are on end the moment he declines the offer, like he’s walking away from the right answer.
