Since book 7 part 5 (the part where we meet Meleanor/Maleanor 👀) is coming to EN this month, i would love to see your take on lilia’s proposal to meleanor! i mean they were like little kids right? it couldn’t have been that serious…i think the only reason she even brought it up again is because she could tell lilia still genuinely loved her…(even if he didn’t realize it himself?) but, oh well! At some point in your life, there will be a moment where exactly - or near exactly - half the people in the world are younger than you, and half the people are older.

And I think that moment should be the one your soulmate Mark appears at, not at birth or puberty or something. Both because at birth is kind of boring but it's also very you-centric and soulmates are about the thing outside of you being a part of you, and I think it would be nice to include The World.

But also I think it would have fascinating implications for scientific and social studies. Longevity trends tracked by the average age soul marks appear. Tragedies causing a rash of recent marks to disappear (because the people are no longer the middle). Marks appearing early during baby booms.

hey, hey. I don't know who needs to hear this, but--if you are a webcomic creator working with a publisher that tells you things like "your series is under preforming" as a reason why they can't meet certain, very basic requests you make, and leverages this vague statement against you as a way to position and request more from you--know that it is probably, definately, part of a script they use for every. single. creator. they work with.

If you are working hard, producing good work, meeting those deadlines, and communicating as well as you are able with the publisher, etc, you are a rockstar. Your series performance isn't YOUR job. It's their job to promote it and get those sales and numbers for you.

Don't let these companies get under your skin. They know you're working on something you are passionate about. They are banking on the assumption that you are trying to prove your own worth to yourself. They will say some extremely devaluing shit to you in their effort to squeeze as much out of you as possible.

When push comes to shove, if they can not provide what you need, then what you need is to walk away. You've got incredible skill and an incredible work ethic. If you didn't, they'd have never approached you in the first place. Know when a publisher is trying to tear you down for their own gain and leave 'em in the dirt. A publisher shouldn't be using language to make you feel like a disappointment. Nothing you've done for them is disappointing. They're not paying you enough.

Wind is not ok

Idk how to pinpoint it. It's something about how since Dawn part four, almost 45 percent of the sentences he's said have ended in questions marks or been directly theorising. How the Link who figured out the most about the timeline with ease hasn't spoken much outside of theorising about the monsters, the postman, the shadow. How he whipped his blade out the fastest and went for the fairy.

It's something to do with how the most expressive Link had tears standing in his eyes when Twilight was ill but never once let them fall. It's something to do with how the most energetic hasn't been the center of attention but has been on the sidelines for quite a few updates. How he told Hyrule it's about being ready for the variety and has seemingly been ready ever since.

It's something with how for the past ten updates (we're at entrance pt 3 now), he has only smiled on ten out of ninety pages. How an extremely reliable Kid appears the most ready outside of Sky to rip the shadows throat out, after being pushed by him in battle like he was nothing. How angry he looks when talking about the shadow.

It's something about how he yelled in Legend's face that they had to help, questioning if Twilight was corrupted or possessed. Something about how this kid sincerely asked his brother if he was feeling evil and hasn't stop asking questions since.

maybe its just the cptsd talking (its always talking, Help Me) but i cannot help but continuously think about anya mouthwashing and that fucking scene between her and curly in the cockpit. i cant think of anything more devastating for an abuse survivor ta go thru. to know that people care so little for you and how you feel and the ways that you have been hurt that they will allow someone who abused you to stay on board a ship when you tell them that you want them gone. if i had been in anyas shoes i would have been pissed. and you know what!! i am pissed!! because the same fucking thing happened to me!! anya was driven to the point of fearing for her life because curly couldnt grow a fucking spine and tell an abuser ta beat it. thats what happened dude. and its so. ohhhh its such good story telling. and it rings so true as someone who has survived exactly this situation. and the way anya talks in this scene...."i know you're not going to protect me, so i might as well protect myself" (paraphrasing here) said thru gritted teeth. said thru tears that threaten to spill from her eyes. spat with venom, anger, hatred, even. and the abuse did continue. and she was right. but nobody will ever listen because anya will let anyone and everyone walk all over her because its what she feels she deserves. deep down. and she realizes that the only one who really has her back 100% is her. because everyone else who claims to care is fucking lying. and it was proven to her when curly said that he would "talk to jimmy" its rage enducing. i cant imagine what she was thinking nursing curly that whole time. the rage. the fact that his life was at her fingertips. it must have felt good. to have all that. to be able to decide if someone like him lived, died, suffered, the same way he did to her. there is absolutely no shot that she thought about killing him. she thought about it, and was probably so fucking angry and pissed, but then. as she always did as she learned to do redirected the hurt and anger at herself and took her own life. and makes me feel seen in a way that i have never felt seen before.

One of the biggest things that makes me see Leo as trans is absolutely the size of his carapace in comparison to his brothers’.

And I’m not talking about height! I’m specifically looking at his shell here, because when you compare him to the others, particularly Donnie who is nearly the same height as Leo, it’s very clear that Leo’s carapace is much longer in proportion to the rest of his body.

Like - standing side by side, even though Donnie is shorter his carapace ends noticeably higher up than Leo’s does. And I like this not only because it really helps push the idea that Leo could very likely be trans (or intersex!), but it’s also just a fun design difference between them.

(It also lends way to future scenarios of Donnie eventually getting taller than Leo, but sitting down still has Leo being the taller one haha.)

So I've been turning over this detail of the game over and over and I think I've found a good reason and wanted to share. During the guilt sequence, when Jimmy enters the ID hallway his ID covers up both Anya's and Curly's.

And for a long time I've always wondered why those two in particular. And I think the reason why is because even at this point of the game he's still dehumanizing them and ignoring who they really are as people.

During the entire guilt sequence he never acknowledges Anya and the pain he caused her by the rape and forceful impregnation to her, instead only focusing on the fetus and how it would ruin HIM. And even his subconscious that's calling him out for Anya has to take on the form of Polle, and he still refuses to even reference her.

And even though he apologizes to Curly, it's really only for taking away his role as captain. He's not sorry for causing the crash that made Curly in perpetual horrific pain, for abusing him before the crash, or for even the cannibalism. And as you pointed out, throughout the entire guilt sequences he's had of Curly it's only in his post-crash state. Also throughout each guilt sequence with Curly he still imagines Curly as his perfect victim friend who would gladly take on the role of a villain for Jimmy to be a hero.

The ID hallway shows the players that even when he feels guilty he still refuses to see who they really are. Throughout the game he steals from both Anya and Curly their bodies and their voices, and this scene is symbolic of that. Even when he's feeling guilty, Jimmy is still doing just that to them.

ITS LITERALLY ALL THIS.

My biggest gripe with any interpretation of Jimmy and his abuse of Anya and Curly is that he actually respected Curly more. He didn’t even care enough to see the person he was before the crash in his moment of penitence. He couldn’t even give him a name in the end. Curly was always a space for him to take, to project his worst qualities onto. Anya became that space due to the position of power Curly specifically had, he’s his boss and he can’t just do whatever, hence why his actions were always behind Curly’s back. The tragedy of this is that he realized how much power he had over Anya, his subordinate, practically the same in the societal pecking order outside of this one instance. An opportunistic chance for him, similar to how he exerts physical power over a post-crash Curly.

He sees Anya as a nuisance, a thing he can’t get out of the recesses of his mind but he still sees her, in a fucked up way, she’s his dead pixel. Something that slowly destroys the perception of his screen the longer he ignores it until it goes black. But Curly? He’s an escape, he’s not anything real because the Curly in Jimmy’s head is also not a person but a place holder for him specifically. He wants to be that man and his only true regret is the destroying the thing he wanted to be and thus making that role inaccessible to him.
