okay but LISTEN i think cyno would feel the exact same about pet names as he does about his jokes like cyhaino starts dating and his immediate thought is oh pet names would help make it less awkward and relax both of us so he tries it, calls alhaitham babe in front of both of their salads and it’s stiff and awkward and uncomfortable and they’re both just like “hm :|” because it’s SO obvious that didn’t work so alhaitham is like cool we tried it and that’s that but THEN cyno KEEPS doing it trying every pet name under the sun because he’s PERSISTENT and it NEVER works but alhaitham would find it kind of charming and very cyno-esque so of course he would grow to love it but also they’re emotionally scarring every one around them who has to listen to the most uncomfortable use of the word “sweetie” they have ever seen in their entire life

god I love rediscovering half-finished tianshan fics/drafts that I started years ago and completely forgot about. it's like I'm reading someone else's work and it's fantastic! there's so many.
in case anyone is interested, so far I've found:
a WIP named "leverage" that seems to be about guan shan having to stay at the He estate for his own protection against whatever mess the He family has gotten into. I feel like someone might have requested this a long time ago and I forgot?
another WIP named "p.s." that's about tianshan being bitter exes and yet somehow guan shan finds himself housesitting for he tian while he travels for work because he tian has a dog that they adopted together that needs to be looked after and guan shan still cares about it -- and, clearly, about he tian too. I honestly still like this idea and the writing isn't too awful... hmm.
a VERY primitive draft of desecration, probably written when I was just beginning to brainstorm. it's crazy to see how much the story has evolved based on this flimsy WIP draft. I'm half-tempted to post it just for shits and giggles even though it's poorly written
another very short, primitive draft of desecration, written from zheng xi's perspective
a WIP named "smoke and mirrors" for a switched family background AU for tianshan. I actually got pretty far in writing this (~7k words) and I don't remember a single thing about it. veryyyy interesting. I kinda want to post this one too, or at least one scene that stands out
a WIP (unnamed) that seems to be about guan shan conning he tian at the train station for some money. I'm almost positive this was a tumblr request, but based on the date/time stamp of the draft's document, I'm not surprised I never finished it. life was crazy and miserable at the time
and while I'm here, I might as well mention the WIPs I do kinda remember but decided not to pursue in favor of desecration:
a WIP named "patchwork" set in historical China, wherein guan shan (a potter/artisan) has the ability to see and manipulate (i.e. tie and cut) red strings of fate. he's commissioned by the he family to participate in a traditional wedding ceremony for he cheng. of course, he tian takes an interest in him while he's there. the only issue is that guan shan cut his own red string when he was younger, an irreversible action -- and, for some reason, he tian's is cut too. weird, right? yeah. but he tian doesn't know this, and guan shan isn't planning on telling him anytime soon 😌
a WIP named "arsonist's lullaby" written from he cheng's POV throughout he tian's childhood. I'm not going to say much about this one since it might actually be written/posted one day as part of the terra firma series...
and finally, a WIP (unnamed) for an AU in which guan shan is a retired police dog trainer/handler (??) who now works at an auto shop. he adopted some of the dogs that either flunked out of the academy training or developed medical issues that required their retirement, and the dogs hang around the shop while he works. one day he tian shows up and asks if guan shan would be willing to do some off-the-books commission(?) work. the he family business has a drug/weapons problem, and they need the dogs' trained noses -- and their handler's experience -- to fix it. (I'm still obsessed with the idea of the dogs being fiercely protective of guan shan. he tian not only has to earn guan shan's trust, but the dogs' too)
I love the variability in all these AUs/ideas. I wish I could work on them all at once but that's frankly impossible. but I'll consider posting a few snippets if anyone is interested! (no promises about the quality of writing, though!)

Queen, I read almost all your recs and wanted to thank you.💙😍 I liked that most of them featured the breeding kink (I didn't want children before but now I might be reconsidering hehehehe).
If you could suggest more, I wouldn't be mad.😳🙏
Woohoo, so happy you read and enjoyed so many of them!! Your wish is my command--always happy to rec fics 😍
Again, in no particular order...
Dramione
She Will by Undertheglow. Draco/Hermione, written in future tense and poetic as HELL while still being scorching hot. I adore this one.
Dépaysement by Setissma. If you haven't read this OH MY GOD you're in for a treat. I can't be eloquent about how much I love it. It has it all (fake marriage, forced domesticity, tension and smut and feeelingggsssssss) and I can't be chill about it.
One Whole by SaffronGin. Don't be intimidated by the chapter count, they are delicious little bites. This fic is a JOURNEY in every sense and I had the best time following it as a WIP. In fact, I need to do reread now that it's complete--keeping the tab open!
The Unintended Consequences of Purposive Action by ellieauthor. When an accidental bit of roleplay has unintended consequences 🤭 Everything Ellie writes is whip-smart and banter-rich, and this is a peak example of it.
The Delivery Clause by ThornedHuntress. You've heard of arranged marriages, well the hot new thing is an arranged pregnancy. Enjoyyyy!
A Tentacular Spectacular by Sugarquilling. Hermione fucks the giant squid while Draco watches. I mean...idk what else to say about it (except read it, it's glorious)
We Fell In Love In October by ohthedrarry. This is a socmed AU (textfic) and dkfjsldfjskdfjl I just love it
CHESS CLUB by Ivy_and_right. Another textfic. Draco has a virginity kink, and Hermione is a virgin. Again, idk what else to say about it except that you will stay up all night reading it
icebreaker by ninepiecesofcrait. Nine really outdid herself with this one guys. PHEW BOY. Ginny gives Hermione a sex toy as a not-so-joking joke, but oops it's wrapped identically to Draco's gift. Guess which one he takes home. Guess what he decides to set to rights 🤗
For I Have Sinned by spicyxpisces and Stars_in_motion. Priest!Draco, devout!Hermione. We're not going to talk about how many times I've read this one. Join me in the soft-and-gentle edging depravity 🙏
atonement by takenbytheview. You know that scene in Atonement, when he writes That Letter then gives her the wrong one? Yeah. That. That but Dramione; That but somehow BETTER than it's ever been 🫠🫠🫠
Not Dramione
I Did Something Bad by charingfae. Tom Riddle/Hermione, with time travel and tension and the most toxic flirting you've ever seen. I think about this one all the time.
Voussoir by setissma. Look, I'm just gonna out myself as a die-hard Setissma fangirl. Just go through their backlog and read everything--do it do it! This is a Draco/Harry/Hermione triad fic, and reading it makes me both yearny and calm (as with basically everything else Setissma writes does).
Hydra by setissma. Omg weird, another Setissma? How'd that get in here? Pansy/Harry. READ IT READ IT READ IT. These are the characterizations I would die to be able to write.
Hopefully you find more fics to enjoy from here! And don't forget to kudos and, even more meaningful, comment so the writers know you enjoyed them too. It really does make all the difference 🥰🫶

20 questions for fic writers
How many works do you have on A03? 25
What's your total word count? 454 434 words
What fandoms do you write for? Supernatural. My first english fics were about Teen Wolf. Before that, I wrote in french about House MD and Stargate Sg1.
Top 5 fics by kudos:
Baby One More Time (sterek): 4 142 kudos
Carry You Home (sterek): 2 157 kudos
Fancy and the Tramp (destiel): 1 147 kudos
But she's the Devil in Disguise (sterek): 1 030 kudos
Grace my Soul (destiel): 891 kudos
Do you respond to comments?
Not all of them. Mostly because sometimes I'm not sure how to respond and feel ridiculous saying the same thing again and again. I appreciate them all though. They all make me so happy and I'm grateful to those who takes the time to leave one. They always make my day.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Like Clipped Petunias (destiel). This is my darkest fic. I've had people telling me they had PTSD from it. The end is really angsty and horrifying. It was not supposed to end this way, but this is where the story took me. In the end, I think it fits.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Grace my Soul (destiel) comes to mind. Baby Jimmy is such a delight and the last chapter of that fic is my favorite one.
Do you get hate on fics?
I don't remember ever getting any. I did have a few problems with people stealing my stories or posting them elsewhere. In the past, I also had a few stalkers/stans sending messages that creeped me out (especially for my french fics).
Do you write smut?
Yes! I didn't used to for Teen Wolf, but I've realized that fic with a higher rating tends to get more views (which I get because I rarely read pg13 or under myself), so I started writing it. I both love and hate writing those parts. It always feels kind of awkward to share those imageries, I'm never sure what words to use or how far I should go.
Craziest crossover?
I have a WIP that was a Psych/Teen Wolf crossover.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. More than once. I've had a few cases of people putting their own name on my stories, but mostly people repost it without my consent on other websites such as wattpad. Ao3 is the only place I post, so if you see one of my story elsewhere, it's been stolen. Please warn me if you do.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! It's such an amazing thing to think about! I have had translations in spanish, russian and chinese.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Once or twice. To be honest, I think I'm too OCD for it to work, I want it exactly as I want it lol. Help from betareaders is precious though, sometimes they write a couple paragraphs for me, or help me reformulate some things better, or just brainstorm the stoyline with me and give me brillant ideas. Fics are always better with some help.
All-time favorite ship? Destiel forever bb
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Frozen Inside (sterek) is the only WIP I've ever posted. I feel terribly guilty about it because it's been more than half a decade now and people are still asking me for a sequel. Sometimes I read it over and try, but it's just...done. Thankfully, the last chapter could be taken as a end. Kind of. God, I feel awful and I'm so sorry.
I also have tons of unpublished wip that are nearly over. I wish I'll be able to end them, because there are some stories I really really like.
What are your writing strengths?
Hyperfocus. My best stories come out that way. I'll write fifty thousand words in two days or not at all. Sadly, I can't control it. Inspiration also tend to come at the exact moment I can't possibly write, which is sooo frustrating.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Description and world building. I tend to focus too much on the action and dialogues, but forget to tell about where they are and when. I let readers fill the blank way too often, which is something I really need to work on. I've been trying to rewrite some of my fics into original stories and that made it very obvious to me.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
It depends. Sometimes the translation is in the end note and it can put me out of the story, especially if it's an important part of the dialogue. If it's just a few words or if it's done in a way you understand it anyway, it can be beautiful!
First fandom you ever wrote in? Stargate SG1.
Favorite fic you've written?
The Guy Next Door (destiel), I think. I laughed, I cried, I squealed, I facepalmed. I must have looked like a maniac writing that story. Castiel was very fun to write for that one. Dean...I wanted to slap Dean so many times while I wrote. I had no control over him, I swear, he kept on being an idiot and made me scream at my screen.
I was surprised earlier, that this fic is not in the top five stories because it's one of my personal favorite.
This exercise was very fun to do. I won't tag anyone, if you feel like doing it, just do it, I'm curious to read about all of you!

ash's august 2024 reading round up
find all the books and fics i read (or didn't read...) this month under the cut with a link to the synopsis and my reviews/ratings attached :)
this is just for fun! i'm not a professional, i just like to read <3
booklist:
The Au Pair Affair by Tessa Bailey (18+!)
• review: ugh. this book was so bad lmao. which does pain me to say because i historically have really enjoyed bailey's writing. and i was super excited for this one because i love hockey romance too! but something about it just felt... off to me. perhaps it was the mmc, burgess' protectiveness of this woman he met one time months ago or how much he thought about how they weren't right for each other or maybe i just didn't like him as a character in general. i also didn't like the fmc, tallulah all that much either; i just found her kind of... allowing herself to be a product of her own situations throughout the entire book. i am sympathetic to her previous bad experience with her ex boyfriend and how he treated her, but i also believe there are better ways to draw attention to the fact that "burgess is a strong, violent hockey player and she was abused by her ex, how could they ever be right for each other?!?!" like... does every woman in a hockey romance have to experience this in order to make this dichotomy known? i just would have liked some more originality on that front i don't know. i also think there was a huge missed opportunity for lissa, burgess' daughter, to have helped bridge the gap between the two adults. as tallulah becomes her part-time caregiver while burgess is away, the two of them really hit it off - i think they had the best dynamic in the entire book and i wish there was more about them and how seeing his daughter and the woman he liked getting along inspired burgess or something. but overall. just a pretty flat story to me. i didn't feel the chemistry, i didn't like how burgess treated tallulah like he owned her, and i didn't like that sooo many times each of them thought they weren't right for each other. why? because it was fucking true! there's a reason you're both feeling this! the best part of this book was the ending chapters where they attend the wedding of the mc's of the first book in this series. i was very excited to see josephine again, i loved her so much. the barnes + noble exclusive bonus chapter was literally the best thing in the book but doesn't make the book itself better in anyway as not everyone got to read it lmao
• rating: 2/5 hockey skates
fic list:
1. Assorted works of @selangkir <333
• Continuation of their Jo/Lucy fic!
MY GIVE A FUCKS ARE ON VACATION
i truly cannot get enough of jo and lucy and your beautiful mind... the dynamic these two have going is already making me giddy and i'm so obsessed with your take on this alternate universe where the boys leave instead of jo! the background you're spinning for lucy has also got my attention in such a grip, the scene at jett's party when she's thinking about her brother and how they used to have these kickbacks with all of his friends. the way we don't learn much about her family in btrtv left so much room for expansion, and i just love the direction you're taking it! AND of course the perfect continuation of our GTR au... god, the kendall and katie scene was so funny to me i love how Sibling they really are. the expansion work on kendall is just fascinating too and running a donation campaign on top of that?? augh! tysm for sharing your work w us <3 (and the private post you sent me with your wips... oh augh i cannot wait for what's in store in the future!!)
2. Assorted works of @ceruleanmusings :))) <3
• Big Time Audition - The Masons
.10
.11
.12
Blood Diamond; Year Three
as always, i ADORED your work this month... lord... i thought about big time audition - the masons for like an entire week. the way each girl is introduced and the way it fits them so perfectly had me feeling like i was there in the house with them, tracking through room to room to see what each of them were doing and how you chose to share them with the world. not only that, but micky watching james' audition literally made me fall out of my chair AHH! i just love them so so so much; the 10-12 blurbs were so wonderful. blood diamond year three was also an incredible work - i loved the direction of choosing to have it be purely conversational but it was still packed with so much raw emotion. the last line also felt like a sucker punch to the face i don't think i'll ever forget it.
3. Assorted works of @partiallypearl / @praetoravila !! <3
hold tight
but we're evergreen
her sense of style, it really rocks
jelisa kiss blurb
cause you got me, and baby, i got you
i tried not to face the truth
be my bad boy (be my man)
oh, i leave quite the impression
our human loneliness
show me your colors
ok.... the way i have been so olivepilled this month is just insane. i'm obsessed with her, i love her, she is my special perfect girl. thank you so much for feeding us with all this good olive content this month - i might die without it. everything about her story, from the introduction with her and her sister (wren... loml) and the first time she meets logan, to their ongoing friendship --> relationship dynamic has me SCREAMING. i love the story you are weaving and i'm so thankful to be able to see it unfolding in real time. she DOES leave quite the impression! the two of them make me illlll. ty for letting me send you a million lolive songs and tiktoks this month and thank you for letting me steal her for the wag au!! it will happen again (affectionately). and your lucy blurb was so captivating as well; your take on her life events leading to her arrival at the palm woods was fascinating. i love her so much! your writing only solidifies this hehe
4. Assorted works of @icegirl2772 <33 !!
• Take A Shot In The Dark Chapter 15!
We Do (But Friends Don't)
girl... you should have seen my jaw DROP at the end of this chapter... oh you got me sooooo so sosoo so good. i was throwing parties in my head... screaming... and then i was crying 😭 A DREAM??? so impactful to my health and wellbeing i stg. i cannot wait for the james and neil show down i am so ready for it... and the new addition of we do (but friends don't) was lovely. god i can't get enough of james and kaelyn!! <333
5. Assorted works of @inkameswetrust :)) !!! <3
The Windowsill
The Windowsill (pt. 2)
The Windowsill (pt. 3)
hiii bestie welcome to the reading round up... your kames fic had me screaming and crying and throwing up (affectionately) even if i accidentally started on the second chapter and not the first hehe. the dynamic between james and kendall is so sweet - james being sooo thoughtful and surprising?? hello?? i a puddle on the floor - and the dynamic you created between kendall and his family in the second edition was so cute. the knights are so special to me and i love that you chose to highlight them (even during kendall's james freak out) :)) the third edition was so cute as well! logan and carlos cutting off their conversation... teasing kendall about what happened... omg. the two of them make me so giddy and this fic is making me collect my own butterflies in my stomach hehe and the classic kendall fumble at the end had me rolling... tysm for sharing! i love your work!!!

howdy!! first of all, how dare that guy. I’ll fight him. but I saw you wanted to talk about Liam, so here I am with questions about your favoritest boy. no pressure to answer them all, just some starting points /gen 🥰
- do you any wips for him that you’re excited about?
- what are your favorite things about him? (so many to choose from, since he’s the sweetest ever, but a few of your absolute faves?)
- what do you think his middle name is, if he has one?
- what do you think his conversations with Deigh are like? and what do you think Deigh calls him? like how Tairn calls Violet “silver one”.
I absolutely adore all of your Liam fics and I’m looking respectfully at the cod content even though I know nothing about it 👀
🤍, liz @callsign-rogueone (I can’t send asks directly from there since it’s a sideblog 🥲)
ahhh hi baby! oooh this is perfect, i could talk about him all day!
-> i have a few very rough drafts scribbled in my notes of wips for liam, vague concepts and the like that i’ve daydreamed about and just HAD to write down somewhere. some of my personal favs that i’m excited to write are…
a sexually charged sparring match…😉
liam with an intinnisic reader (keeping her out of trouble, breaking all the rules to keep her safe)
a possible threesome fic with liam and xaden/ perhaps garrick or bodhi
lots of silly fluffy moments — what liam and his girl get up to on rare days off, what their morning routine is like (with a very sleepy, grumpy reader and a terribly endeared liam), certain extracurricular activities…
a possible a/b/o au, which is always controversial, although i need to plan logistics for that one
the cowboy hat rule😉 wear the hat, ride the cowboy (cowboy liam would be HAWT, although i’m not overly keen on alternate universe fics, i’m trying to learn to love them.)
-> my favourite thing about liam by MILES is how loyal he is to his people. i can just imagine him getting protective over our dear reader and it makes me SWOON just thinking about it. i think he would be my favourite of the fw boys to have when you’re feeling sad or sick, too. he seems like the nurturing type when it’s needed (the muscles are just a lovely bonus)
-> i think his middle name is isaac! i believe it was his father’s name (that might be a fan made fact, don’t hurt me pls) and even the meaning of the name means joy, and he brings joy to everyone </3
-> as much as it hurts (considering how he died) i think he’d be honorable one😖 he truly has one of the strongest moral compasses of any of the characters in the book.
-> i wish we got his conversations with deigh because i’m sure deigh would’ve been like his proud dad. top of his class, always winning. best boy ever fr. i’m sure there would’ve been some lighthearted banter. i just know that deigh knew he picked the right man.
i love that you love my liam content 🥹, and i’m planning on making a LOT more very soon <3 the cod content is still very new for me (and i’m god awful at the game but shhh) i just think military men are very hot and sexy and should be licked a lot
thank you for these questions! i adore talking about liam, i’m pretty sure he’s actually my favourite character to ever exist now tbh

BUCKLE IN, LOML, THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG ONE.
hi !! i'm bea, aka meekspeeks on AO3, and i have only recently managed to properly sink my teeth into House MD, being exam free and all. and, akin to any other Normal, Sane person, i immedietly went onto ao3 to cure my bone rattling depression by immersing myself in fics. any kind, people, any kind. and then i found yours.
and my GOD.
you, my dear, dear, sweet friend, are the best writer . ever, dare i say? i have downloaded your books onto my phone for easy reading when i'm... actually, when i'm doing anything. just woke up? ah, yes, the sound of birdsong and an oriley42 fic to sweeten the summer morning. about to go to bed? well, why not get comfy with an oriley42 classic. i highlight them. i seriously, seriously consider getting them tattooed to the inside of my eyelids. all of them. i am not kidding.
in fact, if i was a tech savvy bastard, which i am not (sometimes i Glance, i Peek, i even bloody Breathe in the direction of my ipad, and it restarts. same goes for my phone. and my computer), i would have made an entire new collection on my ao3 account, simply yet perfectly dubbed "oriley42: The Saga", and thus announced to the entirety of the internet my undying love for you, of which there is A LOT. you are amazing and sometimes i wonder if you're even real and not some kind of... demigod?
(i love your fics so much that i get a little e-mail every single time you upload. that's my level of devotion.)
i have never ever laughed harder at anything than i do your fics. when i add said fics to my hilson collection, i make sure that i have a section devoted to a portion of the bits i've highlighted that made me Lose My Shit. i love randomly quoting phrases to my baffled, non-house-loving friends, and even they giggle. you are a riot, my good lord, and i owe you my life.
i'm a true oriley42 expert, i've read them all. no one knows oriley42 like i know oriley42, apart from you, oriley42.
it's a fun name to type. oriley42.
anyway! this is long. my sincerest apologies. but, coming from a frazzled kid who's just finished her a levels, you kept me going through all the horrid, hasty revision that i had to conjure up out of Thin Fucking Air, by making me laugh when no one else could. thank you so much, and i look forward to any other fics that are Brewing in that Lovely Head Of Yours !!!
have a great... day, week, month, year, life !! i love you !!! <3
my buddy, my pal, my dear new bff, thank you so very much! it means the world to hear this, and I'm so deeply touched that my stories could be companion to you, especially as you fight your way through what sounds like a very difficult bit of schooling (wishing you all the success there btw!!)
to give someone Real Feelings, and most of all a Real Laugh, is my greatest aim in sharing my writing--thank you for making me feel like the frankly terrifying vulnerability of posting these stories up where any old Tom, Dickhead, or Harasser can make jackass comments is worth it, because of the chance that my words will cross paths with a kind reader like you <3
your own writing voice just here in this ask is charming and clever, and makes me once again grateful for the incredible talent and kindness the internet allows us all to connect to and enjoy (cheesy, I know, but I really do get teary thinking of all the wonderful people who draw and write and comment and reblog and contribute to these magnificently silly fictional worlds we weave together!)
I hereby grant you a Master's Degree in ORiley42 studies from the University of Internet Friends--much like my own advanced degree, it will not get you a job anywhere, but hey, it's about the joy of learning ;)
Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you on the digital streets of House MD fan-land again!
xoxo
PS - I have soooo many hilson WIPs brewing, too many to keep straight, but I'm hoping to pick one, focus, and get it posted in the next week or two...stay tuned! 💖

20 questions for writers
tagged by @sapphicscience thank you! <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
135... which is a normal number okay?!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,412,255..... i will not be making any comments about it...
3. What fandoms do you write for?
sooo there's been 22 of them! the ones i've written the most fics for have been Yellowjackets, Stranger Things, Fear Street, and The Old Guard
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Aftermath (Wednesday) - the fic is nice but this is just n° 1 because that fandom was insane (affectionately)
make my menace into someone you'd adore (Stranger Things) - my masterpiece. looking back i can cringe at some d ecisions but people liked it!
through the grief can't fight the feeling of relief (Warrior Nun) - this makes me so happy, this was a really nice one, i wish i had written more of it
five times Deena and Sam met in secret (and one time they didn’t) (Fear Street) - i did Not expect this one to be so popular, that fandom was so active i should've appreciated it more
Elvis cloned by aliens (you never know...) (Stranger Things) - ah how it all started with this ship <3
5. Do you respond to comments?
usually yes! i try to reply to most of them
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i usually avoid angsty endings (i literally wrote an alternate ending bc this one was too sad for me) but out of a handful of sad endings the winner is definitely If I could hold you for a minute (darling, I'd go through it again) aka Laura Lee reincarnates as the bear but that doesn't change her fate (also helloo prev same fic title kinda?)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
so there are many that are just pure fluff and joy and fun but! considering it's the most hearbreaking piece of media on the list and i gave it the best happy ending i could, i'm gonna go for heaven on earth, back again about the movie Gia
8. Do you get hate on fics?
not really! i think two people were a bit annoyed i made a lottienat fic secretly a lottielee fic. but i have no regrets 🤭

two times! and let me tell you i'd say both are at least a bit unexpected
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes once! 【翻译】Being with you (Makes the flame burn good) by R_H_Felidae_Athena
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no :( i tried to but we never finished it
14. What is your all-time favorite ship?
most difficult question ever to me <3 there's always going to be something extra special about dani/jamie from bly manor though!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
all of them 😭😭 or at least most of them. sadly
16. What are your writing strengths?
another difficult question! personally i'd say characterization, hopefully
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
uhhhh probably something along the lines of commitment or confidence
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i think it's okay! i've definitely overdone it in the past though so now i like it a little bit less
19. First fandom you wrote for?
ocean's 8! the milfs compelled me...
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Writer interview game
tagged by @ultrakatua , hello thank you i’m a slut for attention
(if you're reading this you should feel free to consider yourself tagged, even/especially if you feel like you don't know me that well!)
When did you start writing?
Since I was pretty little… my 1st/2nd grade teacher had this thing where everyone had to write something in their journal every morning and I was SUPER tryhard about it, and when she told us we didn’t have to write about our lives, we could write about ANYTHING, I definitely started making up wild stories n shit
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I read anything and everything. I guess I wouldn’t be a very good writer of big nonfiction history tomes, but that’s mostly because it requires, y’know, knowing a lot of history first; if I had that knowledge it seems like it’d be fun to try!
I used to say “I could never write a mystery” but then I read Tana French and was like ooooh maybe mysteries are cool actually so. huh. i guess i can imagine myself trying to write just about anything once. (in practice i mostly end up writing a combination of moody litfic and shlocky scifi/fantasy)
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I’ve occasionally tried to actively emulate a specific author’s style, but that kind of thing feels kind of hard to sustain for more than the length of a writing exercise. it's kind of like trying to talk with a different accent. like, sure, you CAN train yourself to talk a different way… but i like how i talk fine, i’m too lazy to change :P
i dunno if i’ve heard many ppl comparing my writing to Actual Authors! and i lack the objectivity to figure it out myself haha
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
i do the Truman Capote thing where i mostly write lying down (but on a couch instead of in bed b/c partner is an extremely light sleeper and i do most my writing between midnight and 4am lol)
What’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?
god i wish i knew!!! then maybe i’d be able to muster it up on demand!!!
(in fanficland i seem to tend to glom onto a specific character and then just write ten fics Examining That Character From Every Angle. in origficland it’s that but usually with some sort of archetype or folktale or something that i’ve become briefly obsessed with)
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
…I did have a moment earlier this month where I typed a line of dialogue, thought to myself “that sounds faintly familiar hm,” did a ctrl+f on my computer, and discovered I’d used a very similar line of dialogue in an abandoned WIP from seven years ago, in a scenario VERY THEMATICALLY/SITUATIONALLY familiar to the WIP i was working on, and i was like. oh my god. i so have a Type why am i like this
(in this particular situation the Theme & Variation was along the lines of “doing a Horrible Thing under duress but also none of these other fucks are willing or able to do it so i guess i gotta, jfc.” skimming over my past few pieces, inasmuch as there’s any commonality between them, i think i can point at, like… “feeling trapped by a mostly-internal sense of obligation that is nonetheless *experienced* as though it were external,” “people talking past each other for very good yet nonetheless tragic reasons,” “clueless rich guys,” “angry women contemplating murder”)
((wait, also: awful dinner parties and awful sex. fuck, why didn’t i lead with that one. i want to write awful dinner parties and bad sex for the entire rest of my life))
What is your reason for writing?
passes time between now and the grave
(less glibly: i get pretty unhappy if i go a long time without Making something, and of all my creative-ish abilities, writing is the one i find most satisfying)
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
Once I finished playing a game, thought to myself “that was good but I really want backstory for [character] and actually I’m pretty sure I have the only correct take on said backstory,” and then proceeded to write that fic. A commenter came in saying “hey I came here because I was really craving backstory for [character] and now I can stop reading because yours is clearly The One that I was looking for, thanks." That felt really good! how often have i had to write a fic, not because I wanted to, but because NO ONE ELSE had written the one I wanted to read??? Glad to spare you some trouble, random internet person.
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
for origfic: the author is dead babey. do not perceive me. i am not here
for fanfic: i still don’t mind if the reader simply Does Not Perceive Me; the work itself is the thing i care most about. but, y’know. if someone reads my fic & is like “i’m insane about this character in the exact same way Lua is, i’m-a slide into her DMs,” i’m very down for that, lol. it’s like whale songs. i’m out here singing my goofy tune and maybe i never hear anything back but if i do that’d be a sweet bonus
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
hmmmm. i’m never quite sure how to think about this sort of question… people often answer with something like “dialogue” or “descriptive imagery” or whatever, but that started to feel kind of weird to me at some point? like pointing at a symphony piece and being like “the low winds were especially good at staying in tune,” like it may be a correct observation, but also the whole orchestra has to be in tune to *some* extent for the piece as a whole to work, and when it *is* working the thing you point out as a strength isn’t gonna be something ticky-tack like that
…but i’m not sure what i’d specifically point to as a higher-order thing haha. i guess, last time i reread some of my own stuff, i was pretty pleased with how much interpersonal *tension* there was in various “ppl talking in rooms” scenes (see: awful dinner parties), so maybe something along those lines
How do you feel about your own writing?
arguably the main reason to write fanfic is so I can go back and reread it 2+ years later and be like “damn this shit rules, bitch was really onto something there”
(i like it! it’s pretty fun good stuff! a pleasing mix of action/plottiness/gratuitousness and, like, actual character and narrative work)

inspired by @colap1nto <3 and posting here to hold myself accountable: writevember! attempting to write something every day no matter how much and what it is
i am however inventing stipulations for myself so i cannot weasel my way out of it, which includes a valid definition of “write”:
actively put words into a document in the form of a proper fic!!! too many wip not enough hands!!
poems (actually laughed at me coming up with this but maybe i will go back to my roots)
research/meta/primers
tag stories are permissible IF i actually compile and edit them into a readable document that day
editing to post to ao3 (the optimism) is also valid. it takes me so long
i do have concrete arbitrary deadlines for one and a half fics that i would LOVE to finish and post in november (dewey^2 and [redacted :)]) so i’m hoping this helps!! also, this is secretly just a sticker chart where i get to put down emojis for each fic i worked on and check off boxes but a win is a win

i have no word count for you sorry i wish i did but it is at least over a few thousand words!!!!

fic author q&a
tagged by @onmytallesttiptoesspinning :)
why do you write fanfic?
my brain is a kinder space to live inside when i write, and fic is the quickest way to get words down on the page these days. also, thinking about the characters is not enough. i need to put them in enclosures and study them. i need to take notes. i need to read those notes obsessively. i need to scatter my toys all over the carpet and invite my friends to admire and compliment them and play.
which of your posted stories do you think of the most even though the story is "finished"?
...........this one. it's definitely this one.
if you could give yourself fic advice from when you first started writing fic, what would that advice be?
stop quoting bible verses. let the characters curse. don't freak out when a b7 shipper shows up in the comments section of your friendship fic, you're not going to get sent to hell for being interpreted as writing gay fanfiction. in fact, give it another ten years and you WILL be writing gay fanfiction. on purpose. with your whole chest. please put the jadzia and worf action figures down and back away slowly, you're just gay for dax, you do not really ship them.
what's your relationship to fic stats?
unfriended, blocked, reported. i have workskins installed so i can only see my total word count. on individual works i can see word count, chapter count, and whether the fic is in a collection or not but that is IT. my life has gotten immeasurably better since i did this
is there a pairing or scenario or friendship that you miss writing? if so, why? if not, why not?
raffi & rios. my god i miss raffi & rios. every day i yearn for the day i can take that box off the highest shelf of the closet and open it back up
what motivates you to write?
brainworms. literally the characters are in my head and i need to get them out. if they stay there too long shit starts getting rancid. i also really enjoy participating in gift exchanges because it gives me a deadline, structure, and a community that is focused on writing rather than a specific fandom. we are all cheering each other on in our various anonymous projects and it's so great!
why do you write for the fandom(s) you write for?
mostly it's because a character or characters have crawled inside my brain. sometimes they're there for a month or a season, other times i come back to them multiple times over a span of many years (star trek is the main example here). since entering the exchange scene i have occasionally picked up one-off fandoms if a pinch hit needed filling or if i needed to make myself matchable in order to participate. i've created some of my favorite fics that way and written far outside my comfort zone. it's great :)
if you're stuck writing a WIP, what do you do?
take a break. take a break take a break take a break. let the story breathe. let myself breathe. come at it from a different angle. read poetry. steal the poem's bones. use them as a scaffold. if all else fails tuck the work into the abandoned folder so i can't see it anymore but do not under any circumstance delete. it's not a failed story. it's just not the right time yet. no work is wasted work. it all breaks down into compost. every tributary feeds a lake.
what do you wish people knew about comments?
whenever i post a fic, there is an absolutely agonizing period of time between posting and first comments when i am very seriously considering deleting my entire internet presence and disappearing into the mountains. this is a me thing. i understand that. i've come up with various coping strategies through the years with mild success, but no matter how much i believe in the work or how much coaching i provide for my brain, there is always that voice in the back of my head that wonders what if it's actually bad. what if it's really really bad. what if they're pointing and laughing and making fun of me. comments shut that voice up. comments provide tangible, outside-of-my-brain proof that the words i wrote made a positive difference in someone else's day, and sometimes they make a difference in ways i never expected. you do not have to tell an author that you like their fics, but when you do, you are never ever bothering them. they're not thinking you're a weirdo or a creep. they're actually probably grinning in relief. they're backing away from the delete button. they're unpacking their suitcase. they're breathing more easily and re-opening the word doc and showing up at the sandbox of creativity to play another day.
maybe there's a question you wish had been on here. what's that question (and answer)? -> what are some fanworks that have inspired you or fed your own creativity?
Candy and Chlorine by scioscribe is so sharp and smart and sexy. 100% biggest inspiration for my jennifer's body fic An Unofficial Anthology of the Online Fandom for the Yellowjackets Tragedy by banerries is so CREATIVE and so FUNNY. it reminds me that at the end of the day fic is supposed to be about play i recommend this barbie/dracula fic to a different friend at least once a month. stunning character study, so unusual, i love love love crack treated seriously a little lower than the angels by mylittleredgirl got me to see the vision of b'elanna/kes for one lovely lovely sitting. i am forever grateful to rarepair writers. they encourage me to think deep, write hard, and trust the process of creativity @stardustcityhag's art is stunning. i am always on some level trying to channel the feeling of it when i'm writing @zannolin's fics consistently feed my desire for delicious-ambiguous-something-amphibious not-shipfic-but-not-not-shipfic. i've written some of my best and most favorite fics after reading their work. their national treasure polycule fic pops into my brain at least once a month. i adore it @73chn1c0l0rr3v3l's smut is some of my favorite smut in the whole world. so sensuous, so vivid, so lush and vivid and aching. i am always at all times meditating on this una/la'an bathhouse thunderstorm fic they wrote me. also, this una/nhan breathplay fic. and this satanic panic fic. and this la'an + insomnia one. i could go on

20 questions for 20 writers!
tagged by @buffintruder thank you!!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
89 ! that feels like a lot
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
355,274 which also feels like a lot!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
usually whatever I'm hyperfixating on at the time! right now it's mdzs/the untamed, but I've got some scum villain wips in the works
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Handsome Mystery Boy -- Skam soulmate AU
hot dilfs in your area (not clickbait!!1!) -- HLVRAI modern au
Strider Bros Feelings Jam -- Homestuck post-canon
Let's Get This Over With -- HLVRAI dream-sharing
The Secret Boyfriend -- TAZ Balance modern au
5. Do you respond to comments?
usually! it might take me a bit, but I usually try to respond, especially if it's a more recent fic. if it's an old fic or the comment is just, like, a string of heart emojis or something, I usually don't respond. doesn't mean the comment doesn't make me smile though!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
tbh I don't write a whole lot of angsty endings? even if it's an angsty fic, I try to end on at least a hopeful/bittersweet note, y'know? I guess the angstiest ending would be Frayed Seams because it's in the middle of the series and is giving context to the strained relationship between the Kageyama siblings. they do eventually begin to mend their relationship by the end of the series! just. not in this fic.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
this is once again rather hard because I mostly write happy endings! and I have a lot of short fics that are just. pure fluff. I guess if I'm looking for a fic that's long enough to Earn a happy ending, it would be a tie between Plant Their Hearts In Community Gardens or the sun in the summertime! I love how much Mob and Reigen's lives have improved by the end of the show <3
8. Do you get hate on fics?
not that comes to mind! I don't think I've ever gotten hate comments, so if people don't like my stuff they at least only complain about it somewhere I can't see it, which I appreciate
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
not really! I am usually a genfic writer lol though I have had wlwangxian robot sex on the brain lately for. reasons. and also I have a feeling some of my bingqiu fics are going to be like, scenes in the Middle of them having sex, because [gestures] bingqiu
10. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't done a whole lot of them, but I think the concept can be fun if executed properly! crossovers where the two casts meet don't generally appeal to me, but crossovers that function more like an au (characters from Series A in the universe of Series B) are more my speed. I have been pondering a svsss/hlvrai crossover....
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
god I hope not
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yeah! I've had a couple fics translated into Russian, way long ago
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not in a "we both were writing the fic in its entirety" way but I have written some aus and fics where I was bouncing ideas off friends so much that they might as well be a co-author. Let's Get This Over With would not exist without @neonlav's help
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
oh christ I have no idea. I'm a genfic person. bingqiu is doing something vile to my brain chemistry lately though
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
so many... so so many......... do not look in my google docs folder, there are too many untitled documents that have been abandoned........... I guess a more recent example would be a mdzs fic where wei wuxian is the juniors' camp counselor. I think the idea was v fun but I could not figure out where to take it. man I wish I was an artist so I didn't have to write plots for my silly little aus
16. What are your writing strengths?
dialogue! I love writing dialogue, especially when I feel like I really Get a character
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
fight scenes.... also pacing and figuring out how to end a fic, final lines are so hard
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I am not fluent enough in another language to pull off writing whole chunks of dialogue in another language! sometimes I'll use terminology from another language, especially if it doesn't translate well (like Japanese or Chinese honorifics and family terms) but otherwise I don't write in another language bc I would be too worried about it being incorrect
19. First fandom you wrote for?
it was, embarrassingly, for the since disgraced video game youtuber Cryaotic. in my defense, I was thirteen. the first fandom I posted fic for was for Hetalia, which is just as embarrassing. once again, my defense is that I was fourteen
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I am genuinely so goddamn proud of Let's Get This Over With. I had so much fun writing it, there are some concepts in it that I'm really proud of, and I just really enjoyed writing for hlvrai. those character voices were fun to play with
I'll tag @patron-saints, @scribefindegil, @localdisasterisk, @thatneoncrisis, and @notedchampagne!

Can i ask the following questions from the Fan Fic Writer Asks?
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
8. What project(s) are you currently working on?
22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
U don’t have to reply if u don’t want to ❤️
Of course you can, darling 💜
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
I read a fic at least once, often two to three times before I post it (sometimes more, depending on how many issues I've been having with it). The same with chapters in a longer fic. I rarely read the entire fic undisturbed from start to finish, though, since I usually don't have the time. I just trust that the overarching pacing and such works and instead focus on it chapter by chapter.
As for rereading, I do it sometimes but not particularly often. Especially if they're long. I know for a fact that I've read Who Holds the Devil fewer times than many of my readers 🤣
That said, I often go back and reread specific parts or skim over bits I remember or want to reread. But, just like when I first post them, it's rare for me to reread entire fics from start to finish, unless they're fairly short or I'm struck by a severe urge to do so.
It's not that I don't want to reread my fics but, more often than not, I don't have the time. I often feel like I should use my time writing instead of reading. But I do enjoy it the times I succumb to the urge and, quite often, I'm pleasantly surprised by how good they are. It's easy to forget, unfortunately, when I'm just chasing after the next fic or the next chapter. So I kind of wish I could do it more often?
But yeah. Sometimes.
6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
Unfortunately, no. I tend to read fics once, maybe twice, depending on how much I like them. Usually because I remember them relatively well even after just one read, so rereading is rarely necessary. Unless, of course, I want to experience the emotions again. Which has happened several times over the years, but there are very few fics I've read more than twice.
It's the same with books, in all honesty. There are very few I've read more than twice, even out of the ones I love. I'm just not the kind of person who rereads things over and over, I guess? I'm more interested in new experiences so I tend to try and find new fics or books to read instead. I find that more exciting since I can easily get bored if I know what's coming which, unsurprisingly, happens a lot when I reread things.
I kind of wish I was better at it, though, because I think there are so many awesome authors out there who deserve the attention.
8. What project(s) are you currently working on?
Copypasted answer from a previous ask where I answered this:
While I have a lot of WIPs, I would say that I'm currently working on three projects with a bit more vigour. And those are:
Who Holds the Devil - Does this even need an introduction at this point? The long-as-fuck Devil Judge fanfic that won't leave me — or anyone else — alone. I love it. But god knows when it'll be finished. I'm hoping to be able to post a new chapter in a not-too-distant future.
A New Dawn (Begins With Us) - A Black Knight fic I'm hoping to finish during 2025 because there are only four chapters left and that's, like, 40k. I can bang that out in two weeks if I am at the top of my game. Unfortunately, I'm not at the top of my game, but still. It's doable and I'm going to do it.
Will You Tell (If They Ask About Me) - A Losers oneshot that I dug up from the WIP graveyard because I really like it and I miss Cougar and Jensen. Should hopefully not be too difficult to finish.
22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
And another copypasted answer 😊
Nine times out of ten, yes. I don't always know the journey there or the exact details of the ending, but I always know what point I want to reach before I start. That said, I'm not against certain things changing as I go along and, more than once, I've tweaked the events of the ending because I ended up exploring something in the middle that I then had to tie into the ending.
So while I know the general idea of what I want, I keep it loose enough that I can change it as I go along. I would feel too hindered if I didn't. The one time I did try to plan it in detail to the very end was my first fanfic The Thunder Moon Chronicles because that's what I was told that I should do. But I found that around 60% of the last instalment had to be altered compared to my original plan, simply because the story had evolved in a way I couldn't predict when I first structured it.
That's not to say that I ever lost track or control of it — I am very much in control the entire time I write — but rather that new and better ideas kept popping up as I was writing it and I wasn't stupid enough to discard them just because they weren't in my original plan. Sometimes, the story just has to be allowed to evolve, otherwise it might feel stilted or stagnate (or at least that's the case for me).
Thank you so much for sending in your questions! 😄

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @ladytauria! Thank you, bb ❤️
How many works do you have on AO3?
46 total, with 1 of them being @generatorcat way more than mine!
What’s your total A03 word count?
276,196.
What fandoms do you write for?
DC only on this account! I keep my obsessions separate haha
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Pretty (3,335 kudos) -> My beloved first long child that I'm hoping to post the next chapter of some time in January! Aka dysmorphic JayTim mutual pining feat accidental bonding
Whiskers and Wonder Boys (2,993 kudos) -> Adorable baby boyfriends! Or the story of Robin Jason saving Selkie Tim from starvation
The Best Taste in Omegas (2,713 kudos) -> The one in which omega hormones are catnip for children, and Jason keeps finding stray kids in his nests.
The House Always Wins (2,622 kudos) -> Top Dom Tim Wrecks Jason's Ass After Winning a Bet: The Story.
Mother Knows Best  (2,107 kudos) -> The reason why I will never beat the mommy kink allegations, aka Jason overcoming his kink shame with Dom Tim's help.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
As much as I'm able to! I love to receive comments so I try my best to answer, but sometimes time just runs from me and it's either answering comments or writing.
What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Little Do You Know! This is a dark gaslighting fic, feat Bruce bitching Robin Jason without his knowledge or consent.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Thicker than Water? JayTim end up happily married with children, both of them immortal vampires.
Do you get hate on your fic?
Not really? I've gotten some "I wish you'd write this", or some misguided comments but not hate.
Do you write smut?
Yeah.
Do you write crossovers?
Nope. I am Not A Fan.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Several times! Podfics too. It never stops blowing me away 💕💕
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yep! Speaking of, I really need to get to editing Trust Fall again. Sorry @themandylion
What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
I have SO MANY ships across too many fandoms, but if I have to pick a ship in DC... It would actually be BruJay. Sorry JayTim nation, I'm a sham 😂
What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I genuinely want to finish Dead to Rights, but I paused it indefinitely when I got pregnant, and I won't pick it back up until the topic of difficult pregnancies/risk of miscarriage stops squicking me out. I love it a lot, and there's a lot I want to say there, but the Creature will need to grow a bit bigger before I'm comfy writing it again.
What’s your writing strengths?
Uh. No idea, actually. I feel like I struggle with everything haha. Possibly writing banter? Not sure...
What’s your writing weaknesses?
EVERYTHING, if you ask me. Though the thing I struggle with the most is endings. It is SO HARD to find a good stopping point that doesn't ring hollow.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Not a full dialogue. A couple of sentences at most. I mean, I'm a native French speaker, so I could do a full conversation, but honestly I find it so unpleasant to read I wouldn't put it in my works.
First fandom you wrote for?
The Untamed 😊
Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Oh God, that's such a hard question. I love all of my babies for different reasons. But I guess it's a toss up between Pretty and... Well. The unposted steampunk t4t JayTim WIP.

Writer interview
@vixstarria tagged me and I finally get to do it! Thank you <3
I am tagging @sky-kiss @scuttlingcrab and @thedomesticanthropologist
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
13 and some are multi-chapter. All are BG3 except for a german Inkheart one
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
85.408 -that is a surprising amount of words for being active less than a year
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
His consort, his god - I finally wrote smut for a popular ship XD (bloodweave)
At her mercy - kinky sapphic Karlach x Durge smut
Natures most beloved treasure - Halsin x trans masc Tav smut
Direct from Hell Logistics - ongoing Raphael x Haarlep comedy/angst/smut/plot - this one has it all
A song of snow and embers and Copper Hearts share this place. one is a F/F/F/F foursome and the other my Astarion x male Tav longfic
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I appreciate every single comment and try to show that. There's nothing better than the e-mail that says "comment on your work" and it can make my whole day. Sometimes I don't know what to respond if it's just a word or a keybord smash, but rest assured I see you and I love every one of those, too.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Angsty ending hmmmm. Because some of my stuff is not completed yet I am not gonna spoil anything but Dust and ash about Astarion's backstory was naturally quite angsty
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Not. gonna. spoil XD
7. Do you write crossovers?
Not yet. Maybe I could count Copper hearts because I took Francys from my original work and planted him into Bg3
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No, not yet.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do. I am exploring all kinds atm with preferably queer pairings wlw or mlm or nb. I can also write mlw from the men's perspective but not the other way round :D
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Boy I wish.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No and I am not sure if I could commit to a project like that.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Hmmmmm ... Raphlep probably
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
My german Inkheart fic with a genderbent lesbian Basta. Damn I was invested in creating this character, but gave up after a while because it was a lot of work and it being german and a niche topic in a small fandom was not very rewarding tbh. I know I should not care and maybe I'll come back to it when the Inkheart obsession comes over me again.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I am good at setting the scene. Atmosphere and small mundane details that make the setting feel alive. I have always liked that in reading as in writing, because it makes you feel like you are actually there when you can hear and smell and taste the scene.
Also I am okay at developing coherent plot, but that's mainly practice from writing a lot of og work before I started with fics.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I still struggle with english grammar and punctuation at times so I always have a beta reader. And I am lucky to have great ones.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I am not a fan. It confuses me. Singular phrases and such yes, but not entire dialogue. Especially if it's german in an english fic I get super confused.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
*digs through her files* So, my first works were basically fic for my best friend's story. (I was in my early teens.) But since she was the author the lines between canon and fic are blurry and the "fandom" consisted of three people of which one was the author XD
So if we don't count that the first one would be Hunger Games - It was one chapter and I never published it
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
We'll see what posesses me next I guess, though I think Bg3 will stay with me for a considerable amount of time. And ship wise ... I feel Durgetash creeping up on me.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Definitely Direct from Hell Logistics. I am having so much fun with it. It constantly makes me laugh and sheme and I also feel all the angst. Also it is ongoing and I get to explore the story alongside the readers (though I have a rough plot structure to keep me on track).

Hello! (Dissonant verses hi!)
7, 16, 17, and 39 for the writer ask game!!!
Hello! Thank you so much for the asks. :) These are from the "Get to know your fic writer!" questions here!
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
I typically write from the POV of the character I created, whether that's the protagonist I play as in the games (Rook from Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Commander Shepard from Mass Effect, for examples) or an original character I've inserted into the story (such as Kazala in my Avatar: The Last Airbender fic or Victoria Taylor in my Detroit: Become Human fic). I like to do that because I know that character the best and experience the story through their eyes. However, in my Mass Effect fics, I do switch between Shepard's and Garrus' perspectives. I can't remember why I decided to do that - I guess I thought it would be fun and I do really enjoy writing from Garrus' POV!
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
I have a LOT of fic ideas as I'm sure many authors do. I've been in a Dragon Age mood since Veilguard came out, although that's starting to wane a bit now. I'll count the ones I've actively worked on or thought about recently as ones that I'm currently nurturing, so that's only about 4.
I'll share one I haven't talked about yet on here. I've thought about writing a story about Rook, Lucanis, and Spite navigating the nature of their relationship with each other. While Davrin is my preferred love interest in the game, I romanced Lucanis during my first playthrough so I have some ideas I'd liked to explore with a Rook who ends up with him (this is a separate Rook from my main, Davrin-romancer).
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
I don't really have an answer to this question. I have both an original novel and some fanfiction that have languished untouched for literal years at this point. My inspiration to write takes a long time to arrive and once it's gone, it disappears for months at a time. I've tried all sorts of suggestions from published authors and fanfic writers to push through writer's block, but nothing has stuck. I spent a few weeks in January writing for 10 minutes every day, and while I did get some things out of it (with (Let Mine Be) The Last Sacrifice being the biggest success from that experiment), there were many times I just sat there typing "I don't know what to write." and other stream of consciousness thoughts. At times I feel like I've lost something I once loved. It sucks.
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
This is from my WIP where I describe the Veilguard finale from my Inquisitor's POV. I've posted a snippet of it before. Major SPOILER WARNING for the end of the game below:
Minrathous was in ruins. Blight covered the walls of every building. Elgar’nan’s ongoing eclipse soaked the world in blood red light. There were dead in the streets and screams and other sounds of battle in the distance.
Solas was here somewhere, physically closer to her that he had been in years. Solas, who still wished to tear down the Veil. Solas, who had broken her heart and abandoned her twice. Solas, who she loved still in spite of all he had done.
Solas, who had killed Varric during his failed ritual.
Harding had written to her with the news of Varric’s death – and Harding was gone now, too, the loss a sharper one because it was more recent. She had died during the battle against Ghilan’nain just a few weeks ago, sacrificing herself so that the rest of Rook’s team could finally kill the god.
It should have been Kaliska. If Solas was going to kill any of them, it should have been her. He might have even stayed his hand if she had been in Varric’s place. It might all have been over then, if she had been there to talk Solas down. Instead, the world was being consumed by the worst blight in history and two would-be gods. And the man she loved had killed one of their dearest friends.
She had sent Varric to his death. He had spent all these years tracking Solas down for her sake. It had been her belief that Solas could be stopped that had convinced him to speak with him and let his guard down.
Would Varric hate her if he knew that she hoped to rescue Solas from himself even now?
