sometimes I think about how when Mike gives Jimmy his speech about "one day you'll wake up and realise you haven't thought about it" in bad choice road, he's not even telling the truth. he's not speaking for his personal experience with grief. he's copying the words of his daughter-in-law, the experiences of the healthier, better adjusted people in her support group. it was an anecdote that not only didn't resonate with him at all, but that made him angry to hear! he was furious that anyone could just move on! that someone could be grieving like he was, grieving the same person, even, and could do anything but dwell in misery all day. but it's the only comforting thing he can think to say. and maybe he's clinging onto the hope that one day he'll be there, too. maybe that's what he means when he says "when you know that, it all gets easier." but who knows? maybe he's just parroting the only thing he knows about how normal people deal with trauma. the one moment in the show someone outside of his family genuinely asks him for some honest emotional vulnerability he parrots something he heard at a support group with all the trite detachment he gives everything else. what the fuck.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't so easily discouraged. I enjoy writing, but I will get so excited to post my work and then get maybe 10 notes... I know it should not matter, because after all my writing is for me, but it makes me feel like maybe I'm just not as good at it as I think I am....

-Okay to start off: TOS Kirk may be a Jane, but AOS Kirk is a Jami

-Bones is the tall girlfriend in AOS. That woman is big and beautiful and broad shouldered and she can pick up her girlfriends and toss them around as she please.

-Sporty Kirk! Always trying to find crewmembers who are up for a game of volleyball during shore leave.

-Adding onto that, Spock does a lot of yoga, and Kirk joins her when her duties as Captain start to weigh on her too much.

-Bones doing Kirk's hair is also part of AOS McSpirk to me forever. Plus AOS Kirk always has her hair in a ponytail anyway, someone's gotta put it up for her.

-Kirk calls Bones a MILF just cause it pisses her off.

-Spock barely wears makeup, but she's very good at doing it. Kirk asks Spock to do her makeup for her when they don't need to rush to the bridge first thing in the morning.

-Bones is maternal but hypocritical when it comes to her girlfriends. She never gets enough sleep but gets on Spock's ass about not getting enough sleep "even if you are a Vulcan". She drinks too much but chides Kirk when she does the same because "Once you're my age you'll regret forming the habit".

language classes can be so hard when you're autistic (even if the language is a special interest, like in my case) because obviously forced social interactions and sometimes heavy emphasis on eye contact, and of course the usual difficulties with School While Neurodivergent, but there's other challenges that i didn't even consider before signing up like... knowing the meaning of the question that the teacher/deskmate is asking, and knowing the answer you want to give, but not knowing *one* word within your answer because it's not on the vocab list and so you stand there awkwardly frozen trying to figure out how to say "i like Action Movies" but the vocab list only has "funny movies" and "scary movies" and you don't wanna say one of those because then you'd be lying
