❖I'm back with another download for the month of October. I have been preoccupied with Frequent Exams and University coursework, so hardly had time to do anything Sims related. But I have been working on small CC projects such as creating wall decor for my kid and teen sims in mind. The majority of them are music related, but this is just the first collection I made and will be sharing publicly.

Known Issues:

To keep the file sizes reasonable, I did edit the .dds within the package before exporting to double-check if I added the right images and deleted duplicates. As a result of this, In the Disney collection and Female Singer posters, in-game some swatches may look blank but when placed are the correct photo.

🖥  Huion Kamvas 12 is a beginner friendly screen tablet with full HD 12″ display, compatible with windows, mac, linux and android phones. it is not a standalone portable tablet, it will need to be hooked up to a computer with a HDMI port!

🖼 i’ve been using this screen tablet for a month now and i’m really happy with it! this is huion’s smallest model, making it easy to carry and ideal for my small desk. it is a compact, lightweight but high quality screen tablet.

⚙️  set up is straightforward. i had some trouble figuring out pen calibration during set up bc there was some lag/offset, but after some fiddling around it works like a charm and i don’t experience any major lag when doing a stroke - i've tested this both in SAI and CSP.

🎨  the screen resolution is impressive for its size & the colors are popping on this one. its kinda like your drawing on paper bc the screen is semi-matte. it even got customizable hotkeys which i love + u can turn off the screen and use it like a regular drawing tablet no problem

🖊  the pen is battery-free and charges automatically, so if you’re like me and get annoyed by the pen running out while you’re working, this is ideal! it comes with pen holder + extra nibs, a drawing glove, and an optional adjustable stand, making it more ergonomic

tl;dr: i’m impressed! if you think larger screen tablets are a bit intimidating, or you’re used to non-display tablets and are looking to transition to screen displays - this is a great and affordable fit! 💞

Smiling Critters Oc ✨

I just couldnt pass up the name opportunity, silly billy is the perfect phrase to turn into a critter, though meet Billy! The jokester of the crew, if I had to work out lore on the spot they'd have been a prototype for a second line of critters that were in the works a year or two before the hour of joy went down. Their scent while untraditional is smell that many of my friends have said they would buy xD plus it fits for a goat

On another note on life :

I just bought a new display tablet!! ✨✨✨

I've posted some time a year ago that I was planning to replace my Wacom 16 as the surface has lots of scratches and the pressure sometimes turns off on its own, basically it's been used almost every single day for the past 6 years.

Today, I've finally gathered enough money to buy myself a Huion Kamvas 16 4K! It's thinner and WAY lighter than Wacom. I can literally use a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect it to my laptop (no more heavy and entangled cables). Easier to carry. The colours are way more accurate, and it's more HD since it's in 4K! All in all I'm really glad I switched to this Huion since I can get way more with the same price (I bought the Wacom Cintiq 16 with around the same price back in 2017).

So that's a little update on my drawing tablet situation. I hope I can create art more efficiently with this new device!

🧙‍♂️ FELLOW TUMBLR ANIMATORS:

If you're using Adobe Animate on an iMac and you have the issue of frameskipping/lag when using the timeline, YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND ALSO I BRING HOPE AND AN END TO YOUR PLIGHT!!

So I switched to Animate 2021 from Flash CS5.5 last week because the autosaver took 45 seconds to back up and using my laptop while hotdesking I realised its only 6 seconds save time on AA2021. That really adds up when you autosave every six minutes because Animate is unreliable and crashes frequently.

But alas. My woes were just beginning. Specifically the woes that look like this:

I thought this was because my iMac has only 8gb of RAM and unfortunately its the kind you can't install upgrades to, so I basically thought I was just fucked. But it turns out this is a problem with all 4k/5k Apple computers, because Animate is terribly optimised and its vector system was never designed to run on HD machines. Because Animate is worse than Flash and keeps getting worse with every successive build.

BUT FEAR NOT!!! there IS a workaround:

If you go to apps and get info on Animate, then and then check open in low resolution, THEN when you reopen Animate it'll run buttery smooth again (though it will look slightly soft-focus because of pixel interpolation). AFAIK this option is only available on Catalina-Ventura, however Ventura onwards allow you to change your native resolution to be lower (Catalina, for whatever godforsaken reason, does not have this option).

FINALLY, if you're still on beautiful beloved Mojave, DO NOT UPGRADE UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO!! Catalina ended 32 bit program support which means you can't run Flash CS5.5 anymore (you can install it on the latest Mojave even if it gives you an out of date error, you just gotta open package contents on the installer -- the files are on archive.org and there's at least one good jailbreaker out there in the usual places for Mac).

DOUBLE FINALLY, if you're not a veteran of Flash/Animate who pairbonded with it from childhood, USE KRITA or TOONBOOM HARMONY or LITERALLY any other software. Adobe software legitimately keeps getting worse and worse and Animate is by FAR the worst of all of them. It is so much better to learn a new workstation and be a bit slower for a couple months than locked into the worst company of all time that uses predatory pricing tactics and keeps getting worse and worse with every build. and also if you don't use Animate or Mac computers, please share this anyway so no one else has to skulk around on the internet feeling like giving up, looking for cheap busted iMacs with cracks on the screen because they think they need to shell out to continue making cartoons. Confession time: I've seen anyone but you 8 times in theaters + 1 time on digital so far for the... uh... ✨plot✨ (Glen Powell's abs and ass) and I have to say, I find more problems and nitpicks each time, but the... ✨plot✨ gets more and more important to me each time.

Meeting Someone New

For the sake of the fic and not boring everyone to death we’ll say this takes place after Coven’s first Lee! HD - Ler! XD fic. CovenTK and GeorgeHD are friends but XD and 4K are not aware of TK’s existence (presumably because they kinda rule the overworld together and TK doesn’t talk much)

It was an everyday Tuesday when DreamXD decided he’d pay the god of the overworld, GeorgeHD, another visit. Since his last one he’d thought nonstop about how HD laughed and squirmed while XD tickled him silly. It was a wonderful discovery that brought the two closer together, and XD couldn’t wait to do it again.

As he drew closer and the scenery around him began to change to the dreamy, cloudy landscape that the smaller god resided in, XD noticed something peculiar. Usually when he visited, he’d have to wake up HD from sleeping. The world around him would reflect that of a cloudy starry night sky, dark blue sprinkled with flecks of stars and wisps of clouds all around him.

Today however, the sky was a bright blue. This meant that HD was wide awake, which was odd for the deity who normally slept uninterrupted between XD’s visits. The only reason he would ever be this awake was if XD himself was visiting. But he’d just got here.

As XD finally approached the center of the cloudy landscape his gaze landed on the starry-haired god, sat up on his nest-like bed of blankets and pillows rambling to another figure in front of him.

The person had purple hair and a cloak made of feathers of the same color draped around their frame, hiding their body. The cloak was covered in unblinking red eyes that stared in every direction— XD swore he saw a few stare in his direction. On the entity’s face was a metal mask and five red eyes identical to those on their wings (there were two eyes on each of their feathered ears as well). Upon their head sat a gold beaded crown with two spiked horns.

All together the figure was a peculiar sight, and made XD stop in his tracks. He was spotted instantly by the entity however, their neck turning sharply to face toward XD and stare him down. Being locked under their gaze sent shivers down XD’s spine.

“Oh, XD. Hey,” HD greeted nonchalantly.

“Who is this,” XD asked, blatantly ignoring the older God’s welcome.

“This is CovenTK, they’re the god of the moon and mobs of the overworld. We worked together a lot when I was more involved with it.”

CovenTK’s cloak opened up and they raised a dark clawed hand to wave at the blonde god. XD immediately took note of the two very large red eyes on the inside of what he realized wasn’t a cloak, but wings. He waved back hesitantly.

“Can they talk…?” XD inquired, approaching the two to sit criss-cross on the cloud-cushioned ground next to HD’s bed. Up close XD saw that Coven TK was a good bit smaller than he was, but also considerably bigger than HD.

“They can, they choose not to because they can’t with their mask on.” TK nodded to seemingly agree with HD’s explanation.

“I see,” the end god said before they fell into awkward silence. He cleared his throat a moment later and spoke up. “So what does TK stand for?”

HD’s face lit up in a sunrise blush as he looked away. TK’s lower set of eyes squinted upwards as if they were smiling under their mask, and their wings opened again. They raised their hands and wiggled their thick clawed fingers once. XD immediately lit up.

“Really??” He nearly exclaimed. TK nodded happily.

“W-We don’t have to talk about this right now—“ HD piped in, the stutter in his voice was impossible to miss and it lit a mischievous fire within XD.

“Oh but I’d love to learn more about CovenTK! And I’m sure they’d be happy to demonstrate, right~?” XD teased. TK donned an equally mischievous glint in their many eyes and they repositioned onto their knees.

“N-No!! No wait, this is really unnecessar—eheheHEHE—! XD NOHO!!” The starry haired deity shrieked when XD scooped him up into his lap, crossing his legs over the smaller god’s and using his four arms to hold HD’s above his head (the upper arms holding the wrists and lower holding his biceps).

“T-T KAHAHAY—! Nohohoho— hehehe, gehehet awahahahay frohom mehehehe—!” HD screamed and wiggled the little he could as the purple winged god crawled closer and straddled HD’s knees.

“Go for his sides TK, they’re the worst~” XD growled into the smaller god’s ear, causing the ladder to scrunch up with a small snort.

TK obliged and their clawed fingers immediately started to scratch at HD’s sides, right in the middle first thing. This had HD wailing within seconds.

“NOHOHOHO PLEHEHEHEASE!!! TEHEHEE KAHAHAY NOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHERE!!” He cackled helplessly, tears already pooling at the corners of his eyes.

“Move to his tummy now, we don’t want to kill him,” XD instructed, feeling bad for the smaller god as he watched TK’s blunt claws torment his sides. XD felt butterflies fill his belly at the thought of those claws scribbling his own sides.

TK obeyed and moved his hands to tickle HD’s belly, the older melting into squeaky giggles. “Nohohohoho plehehehehease….”

“Does it tickle HD~? Does it tickle so bad?” XD teased meanly. Before the starry haired god could answer properly a squeal tore from his throat and he once again fell into hysterical laughter.

Startled by the intense reaction, XD looked down to see what TK was doing that caused such a noise to be pulled from his friend’s mouth. The purple haired deity was softly running the tips of their wings all over HD’s sides, which was causing the small god to absolutely lose his mind. XD shivered again.

“Ooh, feather sensitive are we~?” XD taunted.

“PLEHEHEHEHEASE!! NOHOHO MOHOHORE!!! IHIHIHI CAHAHAHAHAN’T TAHAHAHAKE IHIHIT—!!” HD begged as the first tears rolled down his colorful face.

In an instant the tickling stopped and XD dropped HD’s arms. He used his lower set of hands to soothe over HD’s torso as the small deity calmed down. TK simply sat back and cocooned themself in their wings again, patiently waiting for HD to recover.

“You okay?” XD finally asked, raking one of his upper hands through HD’s wild hair.

“Yeheheah, thahat wahas the wohohorst thohough…” he giggled residually.

TK nodded simply and in a single hop they took to the sky, their giant eyes on the underside of their wings staring at the ground below as they flew away.

“Now what?” XD asked after a minute of watching the peculiar god fly off.

“Now we nap,” HD responded simply, pulling the larger to lay on the nest of blankets. XD chuckled fondly and hugged HD tightly, allowing himself to drift into a light slumber.

If there was ever a new Brave show, what would you want it to be about/what would you want it to involve?

Oh, what I wouldn't give to see a new Brave emerge from the depths of Sunrise's animation studios. But the chances are slim, infinitesimal even, microscopic to the point that I've given up hope to see some kind of series revival one day. At least we're still getting figurines and HD Blu-Ray remasters of the animes, but that's pretty much it.

What we are left with is our imagination and perseverance and thankfully, some fans have those attributes in abundance. I'm not going to call them out by name - you all know who you are and you should know your efforts are greatly appreciated by this small fandom.

Some of them have made a great effort to come up with new ideas for their own original shows that have sprung from their imaginations and they are kind enough to share it with the world. As someone who loves reading about pretty much any thing and everything relevant to the media I'm obsessed with at that time, I also love reading about other people's take on the already existing and well-established fictional worlds.

I've already mentioned my own and the OCs that are part of it, but to be honest, this is not exactly the direction I would take the franchise if I had a say in it. There are many great ways one could revive the Yuusha series and my own silly idea of a story is not it. There are too many themes that don't fit with the overall tone of the series - it needs to be as light-hearted, emotional and thrilling as the original one... which it isn't.

I'll list the answer to your ask under the cut if it's alright with you.

First of all, one thing that I would love to see is a way for the producers to link the shows together. It can either be done with little easter eggs or references to the old shows,

There is a reason why almost all Braves follow a pattern in terms of plot progression and action and I think they should bring that back. The monster-of-the-week format has worked well with almost every series and while it's definitely not the perfect way of storytelling, it makes for fun times.

Let the villains be silly, give them control over some ridiculouly huge thing and watch them decimate the protagonists with it until they learn its attack patterns and defeat it with the power of friendship. It wouldn't hurt if they did it once or twice every ten episodes.

We need more villains who are evil for the sake of it. They don't need a thorough reason to destroy the universe. And give us our beloved morally grey rivals/antiheroes turned allies back, please.

Nowadays I feel that most characters aren't as colorful as they used to be, but not here, nuh-uh! They need to have at least two primary colors in their frame (RYB, RGB or CYMK, doesn't matter which one) as long as they wear it with pride. Example: my man Draias is a walking fashion disaster, yet he doesn't care about his appearance and I love him for it.

not Earth, thank you. While I don't have anything against human-made robots or those who were created by our planet's nature, the thought of them being aliens is so much cooler.

The OST would be a banger for sure.

Another thing I want to see is a more in-depth exploration of the themes and issues they deal with. BPJD had its fair share of addressing themes that are usually targeted at older viewers rather than the actual target audience of pre- and elementary schoolers. I don't want that to get lost in a new show. Children are just as capable of understanding and dealing with heavy themes if they are offered an explanation for everything they might not fully comprehend.

While I don't like humans in robot media in general, BPJD was probably the only show where I think they handled them well. THe human side characters weren't as prominent as they had been in the previous and following Braves. The robots were finally in the spotlight and got the development they desperately needed. Yuuta and Deckerd had a unique bond, they were like siblings and that was so wonderfully presented that I couldn't help but like their pure, albeit codependent relationship.

More platonic relationships. More focus on friendships. More familial love and found family. More bromances, more womances. The same amount of explosions and action.

And please let everyone be normal about women, GGG Final was just. No. (I love you, Anryuu, but the rest of the cast were done dirty)

As for the plot, anything would work. Aliens invade the Earth, philanthrophic Braves come to defend it. Maybe they've been fighting the other guys for a long while, maybe they haven't. What matters is that it should be something that makes sense for a Yuusha show.

And give them badass designs, please.

willy i dont find compelling in the slightest but his friendship with pasta, those videos of them as kids was adorable, those friendships feel so special sometimes when you know that no amount of time and distance will change your relationship with a person, you can pick up where you left off.

pasta and his daughter got me right in the feels, a sweet family. loved the 1080p shots of the game 7 win/loss. also the whole situation with the leafs and toronto media is just... yikes that locker room can turn rancid if not handled well

i dont think about the preds at all unless we're talking about roman josi's face card or them losing to the pens in 2017 lmao but yeah forsberg seems cool his whole ankle treatment was fascinating to watch.

trumpie jack eichel and the golden knights can swing for all i care. i will say though, vegas' whole approach to winning without giving a fuck about the players gave me bit of an ick and i dont know if its cuz im a pens fan and things work differently but yeah. i know its a business but at some point is it really though?

swaymans whole goalie warm up routine threw me off lol his dad is endearing as hell and it was really cool to see how he used his arbitration as motivation, i dont like the bruins one bit but i do respect that work ethic and just the overall culture they have there.

im obsessed with the HD multiple angle footage of the games, chucky’s belly slide save hit hard lol i replayed it a bunch and of course the win and really rubbing salt in the wound by giving connor the conn smythe and everyone debating about whether or not he should’ve gone back out, all while he’s sobbing in the locker room. oof.

overall really enjoyable it was fun. it’d be fun if it was like a series every few seasons but then again it might get repetitive and the novelty wears off and i doubt the guys who didn’t agree to it will agree in the future lol but again overall its good stuff.
