Just a sketch that I was too tired to finish... And since it's Father's Day I'm just gonna dump a bunch of my more silly (mostly) headcanons about their dynamic below, teehee.
General - They argue. A lot. About anything. Jason is the instigator. Harvey is almost always correct. - There has been a karaoke battle at some point. - They smoke far too much and smoke breaks are common occurrences during anti-hero outings. They are no longer mere breaks; they are rituals. - One of the only things they are comfortable openly bonding over is their alleged hatred of Bruce - and weapons. - Actually work very well together in combat. Jason's accurate, hard-hitting martial arts expertise and agility compliment Harvey's more elegant and violent approach. Gotham's scumbags are cooked. - They were both slain by Gotham, and reborn. They are now both living their second life - neither want to admit to each other that they find comfort that they're not alone in this. - They will take any opportunity to bring up each other's past interactions; the two-toned car, the two-story building fiasco, the kidnapping, anything. - Jason's biological father is the root cause of their most explosive, brutal fights. Both of them, however, are exhausted and have other shit to worry about, so they avoid this topic as best as they can.
Jason's POV - Teases Harvey about twos, duality and doubles to distract from the horrors. - When angry, will call Harvey 'Apollo' to piss him off. Sometimes it's 'Ex-District Attorney', with emphasis on the 'Ex'. - He doesn't like it very much when Harvey attempts to get close/connect with him; relationships are transactional. At least that's how Jason views them. - Hates being passenger in Harvey's car because he doesn't get any say over the radio. - He does view Harvey as a parental figure, or something like it, but he's conflicted. - Actually appreciates it when Harvey helps him through PTSD episodes. - Sadly, he isn't very good at helping Harvey through dissociation/depressive episodes yet. He sort of stands there like the man emoji. - Will randomly come out with courtroom related lines when Harvey does something bad, like: "Your honour, my client would like to plead Gemini," or "Your honour, in my client's defence, he didn't know the safety lock was off." - Makes jokes about Harvey's thugs all wanting to have 'a night' with Harvey. - Absolutely refuses to call Harvey "dad", even jokingly. He will have sightseen everything in Hell before that happens. - But at the same time he cries out for a father figure, one that is proud of him, that loves him. He secretly loves it when Harvey pats his shoulder or gives an approving nod.
Harvey's POV - Will make jokes about Jason being alive again to distract from the horrors. - When angry, calls Jason 'Robin' or 'Pup' (name of a baby bat) to piss him off. - Tries to bond with Jason - he *wants* to - but he's a big dumbass about it. - Does not understand Jason's music taste and doesn't have any desire to. - Views Jason as the child he never had the chance to have. In a sense, that makes him quite protective of Jason, but he hides this. He tries desperately not to be like his own father. - Is quite good at understanding Jason's emotions; he knows how to deal with his attacks and does, begrudgingly, use tips he learned from his previous therapists. - Doesn't wish to burden Jason with his own episodes. Unfortunately it's not always possible to hide them. - Just as Jason tortures him with puns, Harvey will do it right back. He'll come out with things like, "We only put up with you because you were the SECOND Robin," or "How would you like to die a second time?" - He will stand and stare awkwardly when Jason brings (sneaks) lovers back to the hideout. But he minds his business. - May have accidentally called Jason his son a few times. Or his "kid". But not to Jason directly, only in his talks between himself and Two-Face. - He likes seeing Jason happy. So many kids and young people are let down by Gotham's corruption and he'll be damned if Jason becomes a victim of it (again).
#Obviously I have way more complex stuff to say but it's late and I wanted to keep things relatively lighthearted so yeah. <3#long post#tw: smoking#tw: mental health#harvey dent#jason todd#two-dads au#headcanons#dc comics#sketches#rambles#reginalususart

Omfg I need like early on in the relationship between Hugh and marvel!reader where their relationship isn’t public and their papparazzi of them on set together coz they’re visiting eachother and everyone’s thinking xmen X mcu when in reality it’s just them together dating
no spoilers! | hugh jackman
an: ok since their first son was born in 2000 (it’s canon idk what date but it’s canon now lol) and the mcu started in 2008 I’m going to change a few things JUST TINY THINGS like the mcu being in development early on and marvel actress!reader being casted in the early 2000s. does that make sense?? idk this is fanfiction
2005
Getting a call from Marvel was something you never expected. Like many people, you grew up reading the comics and watching the tv shows. But now you had the chance of a lifetime. You were being offered a role in the first movie in the Marvel cinematic universe.
After having a meeting with the marvel executives and your manager, you were asked to keep the news of your casting a secret. The media was already wondering who was going to portray what heroes on the big screen and your name was being thrown around.
While your relationship was still a secret, you often visited Hugh on set of X-Men with Alex and Reese. You tried to keep your little family from the media as much a possible. You would watch Hugh get into his costume and do his stunts. You were always amazed at how much fun it would be to portray a superhero and now you were finally going to be able to.
A few months after you met with Marvel, you found out you were pregnant with your third baby. A girl. Thankfully you weren’t set to film yet since the film was still in development. When it was finally time to film ‘Iron Man’, you were more than ready. Your kids were a bit older so they finally got to watch you beat up bad guys like their dad did.
It was during the filming of ‘Iron Man 2’ when your secret was finally revealed to the world. You didn’t really know how it even happened . . . Your guess was that paparazzi somehow snuck in. Hugh was always careful when visiting you on set. Rumors were already circulating on the internet about a potential X-Men and Avengers team up. It didn’t help that Hugh was sporting his signature Wolverine hair when he visited the set. At least the kids weren’t with you.
“You look much better than me,” Hugh looked at your costume. He couldn’t stop staring, it was starting to make you weak in the knees. “at least you get comfortable suits. Remember the black suits from X-Men? The most uncomfortable shit ever.”
“The kids thought you looked cool.” You reminded him.
“Okay, that makes me feel better.”
As you and Hugh talked, some paparazzi were secretly taking photos. All they could think about was how well they were going to get paid for the exclusive photos. The X-Men joining the mcu? That was big news!
When the photos were published on every magazine, you couldn’t help but laugh. What a way to reveal your relationship. You definitely didn’t want to share the news this way, but you also didn’t want to lose your job.
“Maybe in a few years it’ll come true. You, me, X-Men and the Avengers.” He told you, giving you your morning coffee. The kids were still sleeping so you and Hugh took advantage of the quiet morning. You set the magazine down on the table and drank the coffee.
“It would be nice. Imagine what the kids will think. Mom and dad beating up the bad guys together,” you smiled at him. He took the opportunity to give you a kiss. As he pulled away, you whispered to him. “or it could be me kicking the wolverine’s ass.”
Your characters wouldn’t share the screen until 2024 when Deadpool & Wolverine premiered. Your kids were more than excited to see their parents fighting together.

Secret(s) — K. SATO
Prompt: Kenji finally decides to come clean with his feelings and (sort of) confesses to you...except, it doesn't go the way he planned.
Word Count: 2.9k+ words [Damn, I lowkey popped off on this one...] Pairing: Kenji Sato [Ultra-Man: Rising] x Fem! Reader Genre/s: A tiny bit of angst with fluff. Misunderstandings. Mutual pining. Warnings: Swearing. Maybe OOC Kenji (?), not sure tbh...also, I sort of change perspectives weirdly in this one but I tried to make it work the best I can ;-; Plus, I feel like the pacing's weird ;-;
KENJI SATO HAD TWO BIG SECRETS. Number one; he was none other than the Ultra-Man, begrudgingly taking over the momentous mantle after his father was injured. Unlike his booming baseball career, the whole 'superhero' thing was honestly a humbling experience, as Kenji realised the numerous beatings and immediate danger that comes with the spotlight. Though, after what was the unique experience of baby-sitting a kaiju and finally mending his relationship with his father, did Kenji come to terms with and welcome this responsibility. Gladly, Kenji finally found that much needed balance in his life that was necessary and soon, his life didn't seem as bad as it was before. It wasn't lonely anymore either, he thinks.
And number two; he has a massive crush on you. The both of you knew each other since you were little kids, growing up and going to school together like true best-friends did. Initially glued to the hip, you were then forced apart when he had to abruptly move to America with his mother. The transition was difficult to say the least, as little Kenji was thrown into what seemed like a whole new world. Other kids would talk constantly about the way he looked and acted behind his back—about how different he was, and whilst Kenji eventually grew out of it, he couldn't help but miss home. You, included.
When Kenji returned to Japan after many, many years, his feelings for you resurfaced when you surprised him during one of his baseball games. Amongst the crowd, you had been sitting by the front row when Kenji suddenly locked eyes with you as he entered the batting field. He had to do a double-take because God, the years treated you so damn well (And you were even wearing his jersey. His jersey). Whilst he wanted nothing more than to run to and scoop you into his arms, Kenji had a game to play. He had a strong urge to show you his best performance and damn it, did he deliver. He was the Ken Sato, after all. He never disappoints.
The both of you had your heartfelt reunion after the game as he held and spun you in his embrace, in all his sweaty glory (it was honestly a bit gross, but you let it slide this once for the sake of celebration). Excited, you both decided to catch up at Tonkotsu Tonki after he washed up. And to his relief, it was like you never changed. You were still the amazing, humble and kind you — and even though he thought you of beautiful then, you were practically glowing now.
Despite the piling stress he was enduring then — with having to juggle between being Ultra-Man, baby-sitting Emi and some career troubles — your presence alone was like a breath of fresh air. Whenever he was with you, whether it be on the phone or in person, he wasn't the famous celebrity, Ken Sato, or the beloved Japanese super-hero, Ultra-Man. He was just Kenji. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
So with that all being said, with months-full of excruciating pining, Kenji finally made the big decision to confess to you. Today. He invited you out to Tonkotsu Tonki for dinner one spontaneous night, booking a private space away from watchful eyes and any possible distractions.
"So, [Y/n]...I have something to tell you," he suddenly brings up after you finished your meals. His hands start to feel clammy as you avert your attention from your phone, staring up at him with curious eyes. Kenji was normally confident with most things, but vulnerability wasn't exactly his strong suit. He was usually flirtatious and a tease in nature, always flashing a dashing smile and blowing kisses towards the camera and his fans. But today was different. Heck, he couldn't even look at you right now without his head turning into complete mush.
On the other hand, the tone of his voice surprises you. It was noticeably a stark contrast to the light-hearted conversation you had just minutes prior. It must've been important, you think to yourself. And it made you nervous. "Oh," you lamely say, blinking at him, "uh, sure. Shoot." You clasp your hands together to keep them from fiddling too much, your nerves tingling at your fingertips. The thing is, you had an inkling of an idea as to what he was going to say, which was something you've been itching to hear for the past month. '...Was he actually going to follow through?' You think in quiet anticipation.
"Right. So, um..." Kenji throws some gestures in the air in attempt to gauge the right words, "...well, there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a while. It might be a bit...surprising–heavy, even. And I'm worried that it might change a lot of things between us–which I really hoped it wouldn't, but I guess it's inevitable."
He keeps an attentive gaze on you, studying how your features slowly became more tense. Funnily and strangely enough, he thought you looked a bit constipated and perhaps in another circumstance, he would've laughed at you. Though, he knew he wasn't doing any better himself – the restaurant suddenly felt like a sauna and his heart was practically pounding out of his chest as if he were in a game.
Kenji unknowingly continues to babble on. "I-I wanted to tell you sooner, but I didn't want to scare you off. But now, since I've come back from America–and am planning on staying here for good– and-and we've been given a chance to reconnect these past couple months...I think it's a good time to finally come clean and tell you the truth—"
"I already know," you suddenly intervene, surprising Kenji and even yourself. You mentally reprimand yourself for abruptly inserting yourself in the midst of his dialogue, cursing your lack of patience.
"You...you already know?" He asks sheepishly, clearly taken aback, "what–what do you mean you already know? Like, was I being too obvious or something?" He couldn't help the nervous chuckle that escapes his lips. He felt like he was going to implode at any minute as the embarrassment rapidly crept up his neck, dusting his cheeks.
You wince a little. "W-Well, no. But I guess I already had my suspicions. I noticed that you've been acting kinda weird recently and I sort of just...y'know, connected the dots," you shrugged, looking apologetic. He honestly didn't know how to feel about that.
"Oh...right. I forget how perceptive you can be sometimes. It's kinda scary," he attempts to flash you a smirk but it comes off as an awkward smile instead, as he raises a hand to rub his nape. You notice this and try to offer some consolation, reaching out to grab his hand. The action alone causes butterflies to flutter erratically in Kenji's stomach and for a moment, he feels hopeful.
"Hey, for what it's worth I'm actually glad that you told me, Ken. It must've been hard keeping it to yourself," you say warmly. Kenji scoffs in response – that was an understatement. "Oh, God. You have no idea how long I've been waiting to get this off of my chest," he huffs incredulously, unconsciously melting into your touch.
There was a brief second of pause and soon, Kenji couldn't help but feel as though there was something...off about this whole exchange, especially with how casual you were being at the moment. After all, Kenji literally just confessed (well, kind of) and you just sat there, smiling at him without giving him a definitive answer. Was...he forgetting something? Was he even doing this right?
"Y'know, you seem a bit...nonchalant about all this," he points out, "because if I'm being completely honest with you, I feel like I'm about to pass out." Brows furrowed, you straighten up in your seat. "Wait, Ken, I didn't mean to make it seem like I don't care or anything," you attempt to affirm with the wave of your hands, "i-it's just...slowly sinking in right now. Even though I told you I knew, hearing it from you straight is still overwhelming."
Overwhelming? At that, Kenji frowns. "Well...I did warn you, didn't I?" He says disheartened, letting out a deep sigh whilst running a hand through his hair. "Look, [Y/n]. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, nor do I want to pressure you for an answer right now. I just thought I'd tell you–"
"Woah, woah. Wait a minute. Pressure me?" You question with raised brows, now acutely confused, "pressure me into what?" Kenji rapidly blinks and tilts his head to one side, almost gaping at you, "Uhm, pressure you into reciprocating my feelings?" Crickets. Literal crickets. It was only after a few passing seconds that the both of you realise that you were talking about very, very different things.
"Y-You have feelings for me?" You gawk as you point to yourself, a bright blush now evident across your cheeks. Kenji wanted nothing more than to disappear into thin air. "I–Yes! Yes, I do–I thought I made that super clear?!" He panics, balling his fists, "what the hell were you talking about then?!"
Ah, shit. This was awkward, but there's no point in turning back now, you think to yourself, grimacing. You look around the both of you in caution and thankfully, the cook behind the counter was nowhere in sight, presumably having gone back of the kitchen. You leaned close towards Kenji. "I was talking about you being Ultra-Man!" You harshly whispered between your cupped hands, and it causes Kenji to bang his knee against the countertop, eliciting a loud thud.
You gasp. "Shit, Ken, are you okay—" "Fuck-What the actual fuck?!" He whisper-shouts, his eyes growing as wide as saucers as he aggressively rubs his knee. "how-how did you know about that?!" Maybe Kenji should've initially tried to deny the accusation, but his better judgement was severely trampled on, alongside his ego, by his failed attempt of a confession.
Now it was your turn to fumble. "W-Well, first of all, every time you would abruptly leave when we hang out, Ultra-Man would just appear out of nowhere and it would always be when there's a kaiju in the city! Like, come on, the timing was always coincidentally impeccable!" You explain, your arms messily flailing in the air, "And don't even get me started on the lame-ass excuses you make! What? You needed to water your plants? You couldn't even conjure a single sprout, let alone a pot plant even if you tried—"
"I–Okay, first of all, that is so not true–"
You raise a digit, causing him to halt mid-sentence, "And not only that, but maybe you should–I don't know, work on being more discreet with your identity because I literally saw you transform near a freaking construction site!"
Kenji's eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. "Shit, you saw me? When did you–"
"Over a month ago, with that pink dragon-looking kaiju." You were referring to Emi. At that, Kenji squints his eyes at you, "You knew for a whole month and didn't tell me!?"
"Shh, lower your voice, Ken! Someone's gonna hear us!" You hush, "And I was planning on telling you at some point! Believe me, but I-I just didn't know how to bring it up! It's not exactly the smoothest conversation starter, y'know?" You look at him guiltily, your voice growing quiet, "I was kinda hoping that you'd tell me over time...when you were ready."
Kenji was now sporting a migraine, his mind trying to wrap around all the information you've just spewed at him. "You...you didn't tell anyone else about this, right?" He then asks anxiously. You were quick to shake your head, "No, of course not, and I wasn't planning to. I know how dangerous that information would be if it landed in the wrong hands—"
"And you do realise that you knowing all this would put you into danger, right?" Kenji says seriously. His own comment causes him to slump over at the counter, sighing heavily as he holds his head in his hands, "...it's why I never wanted you to know in the first place."
A small pang of hurt hits you as he admits this, but you decide to let it slide, knowing where Kenji was coming from. "Hey, come on, I'm stronger than I look, Ken. At least give me some credit over here," you attempt to liven up the mood, nudging him with your elbow. "Apart from kaiju, there are some really dangerous people out there, [Y/n]. You and I don't know what they're capable of," he mumbles into his arms, his gaze remaining on the table. Having you roped into his Ultra-Man business opened a lot of opportunities for danger to strike at any angle. Kenji wouldn't forgive himself if something were to happen to you, knowing that it could've been avoided in the first place. Heck, look what happened with the KDF.
Your eyes soften at his concern, pressing your lips into a thin line as you let out a small huff. "Look, we'll figure something out. But in the meantime, it'll be okay. I'll be fine, Ken."
"But—ow!" Kenji winces as you flick him on the forehead. You click your tongue in mild annoyance, speaking once more to reiterate as he rubs the reddened spot on his head, "I said, I'll be fine. So, enough with the brooding, Ken. What's done is done, okay? Nothing's going to chance the fact that I already know, and there's no point in entertaining the 'what if's." You then cross your arms against your chest, before softly muttering under your breath, "...and plus, you definitely gotta work on that transforming gimic of yours. You're gonna give yourself away with that clumsy technique."
Kenji initially gave you an unimpressed look, but he couldn't help the small grin that grew on his face as he spotted the mischievous glint in your eyes. You were definitely poking fun at him now. He lets out an audible scoff in response. "Oh yeah? I'd like to see you try. I bet if you were in my place, your identity would already be headlining all the news outlets within minutes!" You roll your eyes at this but you end up joining in on his laughter, chuckling alongside him.
Soon after, there was a brief and quiet moment of contemplation, and you found yourself staring at Kenji's profile. His confession wasn't left forgotten as your mind slowly picked up the pieces from earlier and soon, you found yourself growing increasingly flustered at the memory. The thing is, you did in fact reciprocate his feelings. With his success, you didn't think he'd even so much as spare a glance in your direction, expecting him to settle for someone of his calibre. You always thought that he was way beyond your league, so of course, you had your insecurities. But now, even if it was only for a brief moment, they all seemed to have dissipated and was now replaced by a warm, fuzzy sensation.
"Hey...so, uhm...about your confession," you quietly muster, unable to look at him straight in the eye, "...I guess I should give you my answer, huh?" Kenji's posture straightens in response as an uneasy expression takes over his features, having been reminded of his humiliation, "[Y/n], wait. Like I said, you don't have to say anything right now if you don't want to—" You didn't really comprehend what he was saying at that point, distracted by the loud thumping of your heart against your ears.
You bite your lip nervously, adjusting yourself in your seat to face him properly as Kenji continues to waffle on about your regard. Before your nerves could've forced you to back down, you were quick to dip forward and place a small peck against his cheek, just at the corner of his lips — you also made sure to have it linger a bit to send your message across better. Kenji stiffens as a result, shutting him up completely as a dumb-struck look strikes his face. "I like you too, Ken..." you say when you pull away, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
It takes a few moments for Kenji to fully comprehend what just happened, before a shy, boyish giggle escapes his lips. "Well...I did not expect this to go the way it did," he airly says in a mixture of shock and amusement. You smile widely at him, finding his expression very endearing. "Oh, yeah? Then what did you have planned for me then, hot-shot?" You tease lightly with newfound confidence, leaning against the counter as you rest your chin on your hands. Kenji smirks. "Well, I was planning on serenading you and sweeping you off of your feet, and then carrying you off into the sunset," he jokes lowly, mirroring you. At this point, your faces were just centimetres away, and Kenji could practically feel the warmth radiating off of you. His eyes then dart towards your lips, thinking about how plush and inviting they looked, before looking back up towards your face. You also found yourself doing the same.
It was magnetising, the way you both naturally closed the gap between yourselves. His lips perfectly moulded itself with yours as his hands found its way to your cheeks, pulling you closer towards him. Your own fingers crept its way up the base of his neck, interlacing them as you also tugged him into you.
Ans so, after this eventful aftermath, and at the end of the day, Kenji (begrudgingly) had no more secrets to hide from you.
A/N: YALL...the absolute chokehold this man has on me is INSANE...but otherwise, thank you for reading! As always, constructive criticism is much appreciated!!

Keeping it together
This is going to contain SPOILERS for Avatar 3 as I'm speculating based on leaks
So, I can't stop thinking what must've been happening as Spider gets his ability to breathe Pandoran air.
Just imagine it. There's Jake, Kiri, Spider and probably also Lo'ak and/or Tuk (it says later Neytiri embraces her kids plural and Tuk run to grandma when they land so maybe they are even all there). And then there is Quaritch who just recently tried to kill them (held a gun to L'oak's head and a knife to Kiri's throat and almost killed Jake) but, even more recently, helped them escape Ash Na'vi (the wole thing feels like they wouldn't make it without him). They've all just been in a pretty bad fight and now Spider is suffocating in front of them.
The kids just lost a brother recently and now another person they love is dying in front of them and they can't do anything. It must be devastating. And Quaritch only came along for Spider, dropped everything and allied himself with his worst enemy, and he's about to lose this kid. They must all already be freaking out and that's without thinking what Quaritch will do when Spider is gone.
And then there is Jake, in the middle of this chaos, who has to keep it together for the kids and in case Quaritch gets violent, so he can't freak out that Spider is dying just like he himself almost died. Suffocating to death is not fun and here's a kid reliving his nightmares right in front of him. And to add to that whole PTSD triggering thing, Jake also basically has to console a version of the man who did this to him on purpose (not that this one remembers). Trying to keep it all together like a big, damn hero he is.
And then when Kiri does her magic Jake probably has to keep Quaritch from disturbing it (imagine your dying kid was being swallowed by glowing roots or whatever that will look like). It just feels like Quaritch would panic even more seeing it happen. Everyone else believes Eywa could be able to save Spider but he has no clue.
I hope that at least Spider gets to lose consciousness and then wake up and just be like "good with the air thing". It'd be nice if Quaritch was the only one who gets emotional damage out of it. I'm actually all for him going through all of the pain of losing a kid, including thinking Spider had died, if Spider is actually just fine the whole time. Imagine Spider then just wakes up and sees Quaritch all wailing and is like "WTF, who died?" (Kiri is secretly smirking, as she made it look a bit scarier on purpose, because she knew Quaritch cares so it would devastate him but wouldn't actually hurt anyone. OK, this part is just my wishful thinking.)
No wonder kids collapse and Jake and Quaritch can have a normal conversation. After all of that who would have emotional capacity for any more conflict.

Some Future WIP ideas (inspired by songs)
Fic summaries & Songs below <33 (or just go off name alone)
American Healthcare (Penelope Scott)- Jason Centric AU, He goes to Med school and becomes a doctor in Gotham working alongside Leslie (but still hiding the fact he is Jason, because im a sucker for identity shenanigans) and reconnects with his family via Leslies meddling and a Vigilantes tendency to get injured at least once a week
Little Lion Man (Mumford & Sons) +You're gonna go far kid (The Offspring)- Damian Centric AU, one by one his siblings go missing until its up to him as the last bat to take down the big bad and go back to save his family before it's too late. (Lots of scenes of Damian seeing visions/ghosts of his siblings- aka Black Phone vibes)
Eleanor Rigby(Cody Fry) + Providence (Poor Mans Posion)- No Centric, but lots of Tim & Duke focus, having lived in Gotham and fed up by the injustice the kids break from their fathers values and set out to do what Red Hood tried and failed to take as far as it needed to go. They will work together to unite their siblings to a new mission. Can batman really face against his own children?
Stalkers Tango (Autoheart)- + Bust Your Kneecaps (Pompaloose)- Tim centric because he is a creepy little shit and I appreciate unhinged batfam. But make it Timber and its the whole family just supporting their creepy little brother over his obsessive crush (and Bernard whose lowkey into it) (dont worry about the second song, bernard lives)
Kiss With a Fist (Florence + The Machine)- Enemies to Lovers but make it aged up (obvi) DamiJon. Like let Jon have a little temper and Damian have someone who can match his little shit tendencies. They get along like a house on fire (much to the horror of the rest of the hero community) but the chaos possibility is *chefs kiss*

DadMight and Izuku (hit by a age/body regressing quirk) AU
(i'm not a writer and English is my third language, this is just a brainrot i had to get out lol)
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
When Toshinori got the message from Aizawa about “his problem child getting into problems again” he was ready to call a taxi to the nearest hospital or even the police station, he certainly wasn’t expecting THIS.
In the teacher lounge sitting on a chair was a very familiar green haired teenager… no, a toddler. He was wearing a very loose tshirt and some shorts, probably given by a smaller student, they were still very big on the kid though.
“What… happened? Young Midoriya are you okay?” Toshinori kneels in front of his the kid checking for injuries.
“There was an incident in the city and they were assigned to rescue the civilians involved. Midoriya was pulling an injured civilian from under rubble, and they accidentally activated their quirk. I guess you can figure out what their quirk is.” Aizawa points his thumb to Izuku. “Apparently they are a therapist specialised in childhood trauma or something like that. From their file they usually have a very good control on their quirk and how long the” he again points at Izuku “lasts. But they got a pretty bad concussion so we really don’t know when Midoriya will change back. Usually with their patients they make it last a day or two.. but there has been cases where the change has last a week or two.” Aizawa sighs and takes a sip of the cold coffee that was sitting on his desk.
“Oh…” Toshinori looks back at Young…Younger Midoriya and exhales a laugh. “You certainly got yourself in a bit of a pickle, kid.”
Izuku simply stares at the man confused and also a bit scared. The black haired man assured him that he was a hero and that he got in an accident, he also saw the UA entrance while he was being taken there so he wasn’t lying to him. He should be excited because he is at UA! And surrounded by heroes! At least he thinks the blonde man is a hero.. he knew his name though so maybe they are acquaintances?
“You look like you have a lot going on in that small head of yours, any questions?” Toshinori smiles attempting to look friendly and ease some of his the kid’s worries.
“U-Uhm.. when is my m-mum coming?” Izuku asked quietly looking at the men from behind his bangs.
Aizawa stands up from his desk and stands next to Toshinori. “Mrs Midoriya has been already notified about your… situation. She is currently out of town but she should be back tomorrow morning. From her last update she took the first train home so you will see her soon. For now I was thinking of simply keeping you at the dorms.. but-”
Izuku’s eyes start welling up with tears. “I can’t go home?”
Seeing the tears Toshinori starts fretting over his pupil trying to calm the toddler down “You can! It’s just that Inko-san is not home yet and-“ he stops himself and takes a deep breath. “Everything will be alright, Young Midoriya…..Give a second.” Toshinori stands up and nodding to Aizawa the two man leave the room.
“I can take him home. I don’t blame him for being freaked out, he has no memories and we are basically strangers to him right now. Making him stay in a place unknown to him would simply stress him out..”
Aizawa looks at the former Number One Hero. He always knew he had a big soft spot for Midoriya, after all he was aware now of their story together. What intrigues him though…
“And how exactly will you enter the Midoriya’s apartment?” Aizawa raises his eyebrow at the man, not pointing out him using the first name of the boy's mother.
Toshinori looks quizzically at his coworker for a couple seconds… suddenly all the blood rushes to his face making him look like a tomato.
“Uhm.. ah… well….”
Oh?
Aizawa pinches his nose bridge and sighs. All Might really needs a working etiquette lesson. But he won’t snitch on him… the gossip-loving rat probably knows already.
“Forget I asked. I don’t wanna know. Just take Midoriya home then, and notify his mother about where he is staying. IIda already brought his bag and some stuff so take that as well.” And with that the Underground Hero left leaving the older man alone.
....
Alright, Toshinori! You saved thousands of people, you can take care of a toddler for a day.
Toshinori goes back into the teacher lounge and looks down at his pupil. Izuku is still sitting on the chair playing with the hem of the oversized shirt folding it over and over again.
“Young Midoriya!” The kid startled looks up with reddened eyes. He stopped crying but he can see that the waterfalls were not over yet. “Cmon I’m gonna take you home!” He smiles.
Izuku jumps down the chair and looks up at Toshinori hopefully. “Is my mum back then?”
Toshinori kneels in front of him and puts his hand of his fluffy head. “No, she will still be back tomorrow morning. But we figured out it would be more comfortable for you waiting in your home rather than here. But do not worry!” He hits his own chest and uses his All Might voice. “Because I will keep you company!”
Izuku stares at the frail man in awe. He just did the best All Might voice he ever heard! Is he also a fan? Since he is in UA is he a hero as well? Did he work with All Might? But All Might has no sidekicks, did they do missions together then- Izuku’s thoughts stop hearing the man.. his babysitter’s laugh. He notices how often he looks at him fondly, just like his mum does. He wants to ask what is his relationship with the “older Izuku”.
“You are mumbling Young Midoriya” Toshinori smiles and ruffles his hair. “We have the whole day together so keep your questions for later. Although I can’t promise I will answer all of them. Hero secrecy and stuff.” He winks and laughs again seeing Izuku getting even more excited.
“Now let’s get you home. It’s almost lunch time so I bet you are hungry!” He picks up the kid’s backpack and goes to the door.
Suddenly he feels a tiny hand hold his way bigger one. Toshinori has always been tall and big in general, training his body all life made his hands rough and full of callouses. He gently squeezes the tiny hand, looks down and gets greeted with a precious smile.
Ah.
This will be more challenging than he thought. He just hopes his weak heart will be able to handle all the cuteness that radiates from his the kid.

Injustice 2 character interaction idea: Thomas Blake AKA Catman Part 1
Versus Superman
Catman: So the big blue finally went rogue...
Superman: Came to gloat?
Catman: Oddly enough I'm disappointed.
-
Catman: Flooding Metropolis and destroying Gotham?
Superman: I did what I had to for the good of mankind.
Catman: I'm sure the dead are very grateful.
-
Superman: Who are you to judge me?
Catman: Someone who knows more about personal loss than you think.
Superman: Then I'll reunite you.
-
Superman: Who are you supposed to be?
Catman: I'm the Catman.
Superman: Then go climb up a tree.
Versus Batman
Catman: Still can't wrap my head around the fact you're Bruce Wayne.
Batman: I'm still the same Batman.
Catman: No, the mystique is gone.
-
Catman: I'm sorry for your losses, Batman.
Batman: Solidarity, Blake?
Catman: Maybe its time I chose a side.
-
Batman: I have an offer for you.
Catman: What could you possibly offer me?
Batman: Redemption.
-
Batman: Join us, Blake.
Catman: It's too late for me...
Batman: It's never too late!
Versus Wonder Woman
Catman: I liked the other Wonder Woman better.
Wonder Woman: Silence fool or you will taste my blade!
Catman: You always were more brute than diplomat.
-
Catman: You killed Jeanette.
Wonder Woman: The banshee deserved to die.
Catman: She was part of my pride and you will pay with your blood!
-
Wonder Woman: Another villain blaming others for his fate?
Catman: I make my own fate.
Wonder Woman: And they all end the same.
-
Wonder Woman: You men are far too weak and selfish to be left unchecked.
Catman: And yet you threw your morals away for a single man.
Wonder Woman: Superman is worth more than any of you put together.
Versus Damien Wayne
Catman: How many of you Robins are there?
Damien: I'm the elite that outclasses them all in every aspect.
Catman: You certainly do in annoying me.
-
Catman: I never liked Batman's kid helpers.
Damien: Batman means nothing to me.
Catman: But at least they had loyalty.
-
Damien: Do you realize how pathetic you are?
Catman: Watch it, kid.
Damien: You're a dollar store Catwoman.
-
Damien: What makes you so special?
Catman: I'm the world's best tracker and hunter.
Damien: You'll be the world's best throw rug.
Versus Aquaman
Catman: You know, I never really figured out what your gimmick was.
Aquaman: The very sea obeys my command.
Catman: And here I though you just talked to fish.
-
Catman: You know, you and I aren't so different.
Aquaman: How is that?
Catman: We're both seen as jokes by our peers.
-
Aquaman: What business do you have with me?
Catman: Let's just say this is a recon mission.
Aquaman: Your employer has sent you to your death.
-
Aquaman: You are not familiar to me.
Catman: Don't think I've ever tracked Atlanteans.
Aquaman: Rightly so, as you have just become the hunted.
Versus Flash
Catman: Captain Cold spoke highly of you before you joined the Regime.
Flash: I have many, many regrets.
Catman: Oh I'm sure that makes him feel much better.
-
Catman: The Scarlet Speedster turned into Superman's stooge.
Flash: I thought we were making the world a better place.
Catman: By slaughtering heroes, villains and civilians?
-
Flash: How long will you walk the line?
Catman: As long as I can.
Flash: It's time to make a choice!
-
Flash: I think I have a better understanding of people like you.
Catman: People like me?
Flash: You have conflicting morals, just like I did.
Versus Jay Garrick
Catman: How many of you speedsters are there?
Jay Garrick: We've got quite a big family of them.
Catman: And all we get are Clayfaces and Chillblaines...
-
Catman: I hardly hear a bad word sent your way.
Jay Garrick: Oh I'm sure the Shade has plenty.
Catman: He sang your praises the most.
-
Jay Garrick: The Rogues had great respect for the Secret Six.
Catman: Much like the Rogues, most of the Six are dead.
Jay Garrick: My sincerest condolences.
-
Jay Garrick: I hear you're struggling with yourself.
Catman: What business it is of yours?
Jay Garrick: Maybe a little sparring will clear your head.
Versus Hal Jordan
Catman: How'd you let Sinestro talk himself into the Regime?
Hal Jordan: It just kind of happened.
Catman: Well that explains everything.
-
Catman: Never thought I'd see you turn into such a coward.
Hal Jordan: It's a mark of shame that I will never escape.
Catman: I know a thing or two about shame.
-
Hal Jordan: How do you live with yourself?
Catman: How do you?
Hal Jordan: By correcting the mistakes I've made.
-
Hal Jordan: It took a lot of hard work to earn my ring back.
Catman: What do I care?
Hal Jordan: Because I'm about to show you why I'm a Green Lantern.
Versus John Stewart
Catman: Is there no end to you guys?
John Stewart: The Green Lanterns?
Catman: Heroes with the same gimmicks and costumes!
-
Catman: So are you the bench warmer Lantern or...?
John Stewart: I am in charge of multiple sectors, including this one.
Catman: I'm not even gonna question how that works.
-
John Stewart: Where do you fall on the totem pole?
Catman: I don't follow.
John Stewart: Are you above or below the Javelin?
-
John Stewart: You have to answer for your crimes.
Catman: Have you?
John Stewart: I stood trial like a real man.
Versus Black Canary
Catman: You're Green Arrow's girl, right?
Black Canary: His wife actually.
Catman: Wife, right.
-
Catman: How can you stand that sanctimonious archer?
Black Canary: Would you prefer he was more like you?
Catman: At least I admit who and what I am.
-
Black Canary: I'm told you have history with Ollie.
Catman: None of it pleasant.
Black Canary: Consider this your warning.
-
Black Canary: Time to see if you're worthy.
Catman: Worthy of what?
Black Canary: Batman's respect
Versus Green Arrow
Catman: Arrow.
Green Arrow: Catman.
Catman: Glad we cleared that up.
-
Catman: You said we're friends on your Earth?
Green Arrow: We bonded over our lost fortunes.
Catman: The thought sickens me.
-
Green Arrow: You're a lot more confrontational than my Earth's Catman.
Catman: You broke into my home and pinned me to the wall with your arrows.
Green Arrow: That doesn't sound like me.
-
Green Arrow: My Earth's Catman is almost identical to you.
Catman: Almost?
Green Arrow: Yeah, he doesn't do the woe-is-me-and-my-inner-turmoil thing you do.
Versus Blue Beetle
Catman: I swear the so-called heroes keep getting younger and younger.
Blue Beetle: Hey, I'm old enough to drive.
Catman: That doesn't negate my point.
-
Catman: Another legacy hero?
Blue Beetle: There a problem with that?
Catman: Kid, I've got a list.
-
Blue Beetle: Hey, do you know Catwoman?
Catman: We are not on friendly terms.
Blue Beetle: Oh...guess I'll ask someone else then.
-
Blue Beetle: Hold it right there!
Catman: Kid, I am not in the mood for this.
Blue Beetle: Too bad, me and the scarab are taking you in!
Versus Red Hood
Catman: I feel like I know you from somewhere.
Red Hood: I am what the Joker made me.
Catman: Well that narrows it down.
-
Catman: We both believe scumbags deserve to die.
Red Hood: We are nothing alike.
Catman: Its cute that you think you have any moral high ground.
-
Red Hood: Cat...man?
Catman: That's right.
Red Hood: You couldn't have come up with anything more original?
-
Red Hood: Batman wants me to test you.
Catman: What does he want?
Red Hood: To see if you've really changed.
Versus Deadshot
Catman: Where the hell were you?!
Deadshot: I went underground when Superman went nuts.
Catman: You left your team to die!
-
Catman: Working under Grodd, Floyd?
Deadshot: You wouldn't understand, Blake.
Catman: I would if you'd drop the macho act.
-
Deadshot: We always said we'd end up killing each other.
Catman: That's true, we did.
Deadshot: For what it's worth, I'm sorry.
-
Deadshot: Did any of them survive?
Catman: Only I did.
Deadshot: Why leave a job unfinished, right...?
Versus Bane
Catman: You were the last person I expected to take orders.
Bane: My will no longer bends to the Regime.
Catman: No, but it does to Grodd.
-
Catman: I wasn't there when the regime attacked the Six.
Bane: Do you feel shame?
Catman: I feel rage.
-
Bane: You are nothing but the Bat's pale brown imitation.
Catman: He is just a man in a suit.
Bane: That belief is why you could never replace him.
-
Bane: I once broke the Bat.
Catman: You broke his spine, not his spirit.
Bane: Let us see if yours is as durable.

i'd love to hear all your head canons on Warriors! and the others too if you have any. :)
i'm trying to get into writing fanfiction but its difficult when the canon version of Link is just "blank stare and sometimes arson" /j. Warriors is one of the Links i have the most difficulty with characterization lol (Legend, Hyrule, and Four or also giving me trouble /lh)
aight this is definitely gonna be so much more than you asked for but im not havin a great day and you asked about my special guy and gave me permission to yap about him, so here are a lot of headcanons + the way that I write/characterize him in my own fics! (my bad for spelling errors or if this is incoherent)
- I hc he came from a rather large family out in the country, so he had a lot of sisters growing up and a lot more space than the city but he moved to the city and has stayed there since he joined the army at 15/16
- I know most people hc all the Link’s parents are dead but NOT ME, Wars still has his mom, but he hasn’t been home since he left. I hc he hasn’t been able to bring himself to go home because he feels like the war changed him so much as a person that he won’t belong there and nothing will be the same, and that his family won’t take him back because they’re expecting the same kid who left and he just isnt that person anymore
- I will die on the hill that this man is a fake blond (and that he also straightens his hair). I hc he started dying his hair because he was so desperate to fit in and also to look like the other heroes because his image is incredibly important to him. A whole war was started over him because Cia wanted him, he feels like he needs to at least LOOK like that classic image of the hero. Tied in with this i think he has a lot of insecurity about himself and how he looks because he forces himself to look such a particular way and he’s created this character of himself and acts it out so thoroughly he’s forgotten who HE actually is
- This is a popular hc for him because in his game soldiers turn against him, and you have to fight them in game so a lot of people hc there have been assassination attempts against him and that these include poison. So I hc he has a very intense fear of food that sometimes prevents him from being able to eat all together because he can’t trust where it comes from. Some days he has to watch it be made, some days he has to make it himself, and rarely he just can’t do it. This is all based on my own food allergies and fear of cross contamination, and I also gave him a safe food: oranges! My thinking behind this is that when I get like this eating prepackaged foods are the most comforting to me because it makes me feel like it couldn’t have touched something I’m allergic to, and oranges have a peel which is just a barrier between them and the world. Can they still be poisoned? Absolutely, and Wars knows this, but he’s irrationally dependent on them because in his mind they’re safe because he NEEDS them to be, otherwise he just can’t eat. Like deep down he knows it’s stupid and they’re not guaranteed safe for him, but when he’s panicking he’ll grab those because he’s convinced himself they’re safe and he’s yet to be wrong
- Purely self indulgent hc but I also gave him my blood sugar issues, which is truly just an angst source for me because he’s caught in a trap of having an issue where he HAS to eat semi frequently or bad things will happen but his deep rooted fear of all his food being contaminated makes it really really hard for him to do so
- I hc he’s got a journal that has so so much in it that’s a mix between a diary, battle plans, history book in the making, sketchbook, and more. To me he’s got such a big big brain and a thirst for knowledge and he absorbs history like a SPONGE. He met all these people from other eras during the war and he learned so much about them and their cultures and times, and now he’s going through time to some of these places??? He’s writing that shit DOWN. He’s absolutely the first one to figure out where everyone is on the timeline. He also got used to observing soldiers during battle and noting their strengths and weaknesses so he could plan where to put them in battle and thats just somethin he cannot turn off, so he analyzes the chain and all his notes on them are in this book too. He TELLS them these things, with the intent to help them grow stronger, and he absolutely offers to help them work things out and because of this the group has really become a solid unit. Also the whole thing is written in his native language that NONE of the others can read (I hc he’s brazilian/scottish and his native language is the equivalent of portuguese)
- He’s a very touch oriented person, though the war and his trust issues kinda messed that up for him, but he IS getting better with it. He does much better if he’s the one initiating contact, and he’s definitely a shoulder to lean on for the others and his hugs are very nice
- I hc he HATES shit rubbing against his neck, which is one of the reasons why that scarf is so thoroughly pinned down
- I also hc he came from a family of tailors, so he’s definitely one of the people the chain goes to if they need sewing help
- He’s the one who gives the others haircuts, and he taught Wind how to properly care for his curly hair
- I hc he has temperature regulation issues because of the severe burn scarring Volga left him with, so he and Wild are ALWAYS the first two to overheat
i have more, i could talk about him for hours, but my brain is getting fuzzy so i’ll stop here for now lmao sorry for yapping so much 😭

To me the best sign of the fact that MHA kinda went down hill in the second half is that all the stupid, delusional, trolltheories not coming true... Is disapointing.
Because of course AFO being Deku's dad would be stupid and cliche and contrived - of course introducing time travel to make the "Bak U Go" theorie work would be parody levels of crazy, even Eri turning Shigaraki back into a child Tenko would be an obvious asspull to fix a difficult situation in the most deus ex machina way.
But in retrospect, compared to what we got, that all would be more satisfieng. Cause thats the problem - the real thing we got was just boring, so nothing, just a wimper that seemingly went out of its way to be as unfulfilling as possible.
And the final chapter is the culmination - ofcourse shipping all the charachters together just for the hell of it and giving them kids is self indulgent and formulaic - yet atleast that would give something, make people debate about wacky relationships that make no sense or whatever - but this "wow everyone just went on, vaguely continuing their one dimmensional arcs, solving racism etc" Hell, even just making quirks disapear would be cool, especially if heros lived on, showing that truely being a hero doesnt mean having a flashy power but doing the right thing, with the costumes being reframed from stupid consumer crap into a comitment to do whats right no mater how one looks
One of my buddies descrived the MHA ending as a "no risk one", and honestly, he is absolutely right.
The BIG problem with the final chapter, the reason i describe it time and again as a "Nothing ending" is that it is painfully afraid of committing to ANYTHING as far as how the heroes ended up.
Izuku endes up in a bad outcome ending, where ended up quirkless, and became a teacher at Yuei? Okay, that could work just fine, so long as you emphasise both his regrets but also how much he is fullfilled at his new school... Whatsthat? We never really get a sense that he truly does have regrets? Also we get only the briefest of glimpses into his life as a teacher?
Okay, so who did he end up with? Showing Izuku's partner and maybe q kid or two would go a long way to show that Izuku did not end up like All Might, a man who sacrificed any chance of a normal human companionship to a frankly unhealthy degree the manga critiqued. Also wheter or not he ultimately ended up eith her, Uraraka confessing her feelings is ctitical to her character arc ending on a high note, so jow did that end?
...okay so we get no suggestions that he ended up with anyone? That he seemingpy just resigned himself to be alone forever, just like all might?
All right then, but at least we're committing to an ending where Izuku no longer is a Hero, right?
No wait the twist at the end is that his friends swoop in to finance it all.
...okay? So... Why wasnt the chapter about this? If 1-A loved Izuku so much they were willing to save 5 years worth of Gathered funds to help Izuku, why did we get nothing else in this entire chapter to remind us that they actuqlly loved him still, and instead the entire chapter emphasized how distant Izuku had become?
These two things, Izuku slowly growing distant from his friends in a realistic manner, and them ultimately going all in on helping him out to let him live his dreams, are completely at odds with each other.
In the question, the idea of MHA ending on a "Realistic" is described as by default Boring, but it didnt have to be, so long as it focused on the right things, and actually committed to it to the hilt.
It was more than poasible to Have Izuku ending up as a teacher at Yuei withouth a quirk, teaching the new generation work as an ending, if you actually committed to telling that ending all the way. Realistic does not have to mean boring or unsatisfying.
Similarily, there was absolutely a good way to tell an ending where Izuku lost his quirk and ended up a Tech based Hero as well. So long as you committed to that, and didnt relegate it to the last three pages as a twist ending joke that still wants you to take it seriously.
Ultimately, the ending was a failure because it failed to commit to anything, or to put it another way, it was afraid to take any risks at the very end.
Any shipping resolution in any way? Well, that would absolutely go a long way to hammer in the feel of a realistic ending, because that is how Human beings' work... But that would have been a risk, as someone would have been pissed off by it.
Izuku and ochako getting together? Would have pissed off the bakudeku shippers, the uraraka x toga shippers, and Uraraka x Bakugo shippers.
Him getting together with anyone else? Would have pissed off the Izuku x uraraka shippers, and most certainly the Bakudeku shippers as well.
And on it goes.
Kirishima getting together with Mina? Eould have pissed of the Kirishima x bakugo shippers or the people who headcanon him as gay.
Him getting together with Bakugo? Would have pissed off the ones who shipped him with Ashido.
Aizawa finishing his character arc of growing to actually love teaching and his students by going back to miss joke and finally reconciling with her, and addmitting she was right all along, that he really did want a "household where the laughter never ended" as she put it?
Would have pissed off those who shipped him with Present Mic.
Now im not saying the lack of shipping was THE thing that ruined this ending(other than Izuku x ochako whose lack of resolution one way or another is a massive structural weakness), but it is absolutely a sympthom of how this ending was absolutely terrified of actually committing to any risks.
It is the thing that defines this entire chapter, and honestly the final arc as a whole.
Just to give one example, the reason why Bakugo has NO thematic climax or satisfying ending at the end, is because it is painfully clear that His story was absolutely going to end back on the platform.
Before Hori's editor made him change it, and demand he got a bigger role, Bakugo's thematic ending was going to be that he was murdered while stalling Shigaraki.
He was not going to get to be the Hero who defeated AFO, or even come close to becoming number 1... But he WAS going to get to die a hero.
That was a bold, and very much not safe direction to end one of MHA's most popular characters.
It would also have been a great thematic ending where Bakugo actually did get to be a Hero like he always wanted... while at the same time NOT ultimately rewarding him for the horrible he treats Izuku through the Manga.
You know, like what happened to Endeavor.
There were no happy endings there, with one of his sons rejecting him once and for all, while leaving his firstborn's thoughts on him on a note where we ultimately didnt know how it went, while at the same time ending up crippled in a wheelchair.
Enji was a terrible man who ultimately did become a true hero... But he was not rewarded for it. And that's why it actually works so well.
And it certainly was not the safe way to end it either.
This is also why the villains in MHA ended up on amuch stronger thematic note than any of the heroes.
None of them got safe, nothing endings.
With all of them, Hori one way or another committed himself to have an actual ending that said soemthing, as opposed to the wishy washy final chapter that had no spine to go in either direction.
Dabi burnt himself out, and now has to deal with the consequences of trying to kill himself and everyone else, only to fail at it.
Spinner and compress gave everything for the cause, only for his side to lose, and him ending up in jail, and now has to deal with that.
Toga spent her entire life searching for someone who didnt reject her, and wanted to understand her, and ultimetely though she did not get a relationship with thay person, she went out on her own terms.
Shigaraki tried to destroy the world, having decided to commit himself all the way to becomign the greatest supervillain of all time... Only to in the end, be defeated and being killed, like he himself did to so many others.
None of these were safe options to end these characters on, and there are plenty who werent happy with it... But they are endings where Hori actually committed to going through with it all, wheter to succeed, or fail.
The Heroes by contrast get none of these.
Izuku does not get an ending where it actually commits to... ANYTHING because by doing so, he would piss off some part of his audience.
Bakugo couldnt die at the platform, because he's popular, no matter how much sense ending his story there might make.
Uraraka couldnt confess her feelings and either hook up with, or be rejected by Izuku because that would piss someone off.
Mina and Kirishima couldnt hook up because it too would piss someone off.
We could not get deep, important looks into the Heroes family lives 8 years later, because it would piss people off.
MHA's ending(as far as the heroes are concerned) would have been so much better if the manga was willing to end on an ending that actually take real risks that would have had the possibility to fall on their face.
Or as Wit from Stormlight Archive puts this kinda thinking oh so well:
“All great art is hated. It is obscenely difficult - if not impossible - to make something that nobody hates. Conversely, it is incredibly easy - if not expected - to make something that nobody loves.
This makes sense, if you think about it. Art is about emotion, examination, and going places prople have never gone before to discover and investigate new things. The only way to create something that nobody hates is to ensure that it can't be loved either. Remove enough spice from a soup, and you'll just end up with water.
Human taste is as varied as human fingerprints. Nobody will like everything, everybody dislikes something, someone loves that thing you hate - but at least being hated is better than nothing. To risk metaphor, a grand painting is often about contrast: brightest brights, darkest darks. Not grey mush. That a thing is hated is not proof that it's great art, but the lack of hatred is certainly proof that it is not."

The love of a hero
Smoke signals
Masterlist
A/N: so I was reading some of my old post and low-key hated how it was written so I decide to rewrite the whole love of a hero series. Hopefully it’s a little better now!
Description: it’s your first day of work at Arkham asylum and you share a smoke break with a handsome hero
Warning: smoking, cursing, mental hospital
Pairing: Jason Todd x Reader
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:Reference:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Being one of the most successful Psychiatrists in the country you hadn’t planned on getting fired from your dream job. You had been working at black-gate prison for three years and in one day it all went down the drain. You needed a new scene away from all of the shit that happened so you had decided Gotham was the perfect city to move to and there just so happened to be an open position at Arkham Asylum. You had a good feeling about your new life as soon as you made it off the train. You had friends in the city and it seemed like a place that needed a good fixing up, which was your specialty.
The only condition of the asylum hiring you with your strange record, was you had to start immediately. Which meant as soon as you got into Gotham you were racing to get to the creepy building on the outskirts of the city. When you got there you could tell they were in deep need of staff. A kind older lady met me in the lobby and introduced herself as the head doctor, she gave you a tour of the facility and a list of patients that were yours. The list was very long, it had about sixteen names on it, and you had never had this many patients. You made it your goal of the day to at least introduce yourself to each one of the patients. As you scanned the list some very popular names were on it like, Harvey dent or Pamela Isley. One name in particular caught your eye, Harleen Quinzel, you had known her before she became what she is now. You had went to school together and ended up getting pretty close. You pushed her to the end of the list so you could prepare yourself to see her again after everything that she’s been through.
You had just finished your sixth session of the day with “the scarecrow” and it had shaken you up a little so you thought a brake would help. You looked around for a quiet place where you could get some fresh air. Luckily when you walked out a pair of doors at the back of the building there was a small bench and no one to be seen. You let out a sigh of relief and plopped down on the bench. You rustled for something in your pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. It was a bad habit you had picked up while at black gate but you were cutting down. You only smoked when you were stressed, which seemed to be happening more and more often. Patting your pocket you find nothing, “are you fucking kidding me” slips from your lips as you realize you don’t have a lighter.
You leaned back and close your eyes trying to find some relief before going back to work. There’s soft footsteps that land right in front of you. You lift open one of your eyes and see a very large man in-front of you. You look up at him, he’s wearing a big red helmet. You think for a second, there were a lot of vigilantes in Gotham but which one was this. “Red hood?” You quietly asked confused.
“What are you doing here” he asked but not in an aggressive tone, it was more of a confused tone. He didn’t put right answer you question but you took it as a yes.
“I should be asking you that” you say with a tinge of annoyance in your words, “you’re the big masked man who came out of no where”
You can’t actually tell through the mask but his body language makes it seem like he’s embarrassed. He reaches for his head and takes his helmet off revealing a very handsome face clad in a black domino mask. “Sorry I was just surprised, no one is usually over here” he says softly ruffling His bad helmet hair.
You nod like you agree with him even though you have no idea. You hold up the cigarette in your hand and ask “you got a light”.
He nods and takes out a cigarette of his own, putting it in his mouth and holding the light to it. You get up and touch the tips of the cigarettes together in the flame so they light simultaneously. When you sit down and look back up at him you can see his face is a little flustered. Maybe that was a weird thing to do to a stranger. “So are you a new doctor here?” He asks clearing the awkwardness from his voice.
You nod taking a drag off the cigarette and blowing it out, “it’s my first day” you say with a laugh. You eyes wonder up and down him as you wonder, “and you? Are you one of the “bat-boys” that run around Gotham” you ask doing air quotes with your fingers.
He chuckles, a deep sound that makes your ears hum. A smile grows on your face as you watch him. “I suppose you could call me that. You don’t look like you’re from Gotham?” He questions taking you in.
“I’m not” you say bringing your knees to your chest on the bench and taking another hit of the cigarette, “I just moved to the city, well not yet, after my shift I get to move into my new apartment” you admit.
He smiles and opens his mouth like he’s about to ask something else but his phone rings. He pulls it out of his pocket, he reluctantly steps away to answer it. You can tell he is annoyed with the person on the other side. You watch him with a smile on your lips, you caught yourself being a creep and take another drag and look away. He finishes up on the phone and walks back over, putting out his smoke. “See you around doc” he says with a warm smile and disappears into the shadows. His smile stays with you even when he’s gone, it felt so warm and genuine. You let out the breath you were holding and finish your cigarette. You stand up from the bench and dust yourself off, you need to see him again you decide. You walk back into the building regretting the next few consults you have.

Taglist Masterlist
Being a villain wasn't what you signed up for.
You'd started off as a simple mercenary, stealing things, shooting things, killing the occasional bad guy, but now...now things were different.
Working for Osborne sounded like a dream at first. Big pay-offs and guaranteed protection. He was the biggest kid in the playground and you were his trusty sidekick, always staying behind, concealed in his shadow.
It wasn't a horrible place to be. You'd never been one to enjoy the spotlight, all those judging eyes on you, all those fake smiles. It was easier to stay out of the way.
But then things started getting dirty. Instead of stealing jewelry and money, you stole files and blueprints. Instead of killing crime lords and murderers, you killed governors and state officials. Anything to keep Osborne in power, anything to prevent the possibility of his well-built regime toppling over. And now, if he ever did fall from that throne, you'd be the first to be crushed.
And that wasn't even the worst part. The worst part was having goddamn Spider-man, always on your tail. Because you weren't just some lowlife thug anymore. You were a villain.
Villains were the people heroes fought, the ones despised by the civilians, spat at by strangers, because villains were bad people. That's why heroes like Spider-man fought you. Because you were a bad person. And there was no going back. Not anymore.
You leaped from the edge of the rooftop you were perched on, rolling onto the top of another one of the beige apartment buildings situated on the block, the lights inside all shut off. It was nearing midnight, and you'd just finished with another target.
State official Kendrick Johnson. He wasn't the nicest person, but he wasn't terrible either. But then of course, he was socialist. Which means he was a direct threat to Osborne's policies. Which meant, of course, he had to be put out. Like the flame of a candle. Insignificant, to you at least. You were numb to it now, having a kill count so high, you couldn't even remember the number. You barely even remembered the first person you murdered, all those years ago.
But that's just the cycle of life, right? You were just trying to survive, even if that meant being considered a bad guy. You were just doing what you did best.
You walked along the edge of the rooftop, arms out for balance while you teetered over the side, looking down at the streets thoughtfully, gaze running over the bright white streetlights and the street dogs huddled together for warmth.
And then you heard it. Quiet footsteps. You stopped in your tracks and the noises stopped too. You chuckled softly under your breath. You'd recognize those loud, clanky boots anywhere.
"Hey, Spider-Man."
You turned around gracefully, a slight grin on your face, giving a playful bow to the tall, masked man standing a couple feet in front of you. "Hey yourself." he replied, cocking his head to the side as he put his hands behind his back.
"You here to arrest me?" You asked, batting your eyes at him innocently, taking a couple slow, dragged out steps towards him. "Whatever you think I did, I didn't do it."
"So you didn't just kill a man?" He asked with a raised brow, hands moving towards his pockets as he watched you. "I didn't just kill a man. I did it a little while ago."
"Yeah? Give me a number."
"...15 minutes? 20? I wasn't keeping count."
He scoffed, rolling his eyes at you. "You know, he was one o' the few 'fficials I actually liked."
"Oh, sorry." You said with a grin. "If it makes you feel any better, I made it quick."
"Uh-huh." he casually outstretched his arm, shooting a web towards you and pulling you into him. "Can we just make it easy this time around? I'm feeling pretty tired tonight."
"Never." you shot him one of your sly smiles before kicking his leg out from under him. He grunted and caught himself before he fell, aiming a web at your wrist and pinning your arm against the pole of the radio tower behind you.
You pulled one of your knives from the latch on your pants, chopping at the web right, just barely dodging under him as he threw a punch towards you. Thinking you had escaped, you aimed a kick towards his chest, hoping it would give you enough time to sprint away, but he grabbed your leg and pushed you into the floor, webbing both your arms down in the process.
You struggled for a moment before giving up with a heavy sigh, looking to the side. "Fuck." You muttered.
"Hah. You can't escape me, lovey" he said teasingly, dragging a long finger along your jaw before pulling it back quickly as you attempted to bite him. "Don't touch me." You groaned, trying to kick yourself up. The webs however, were too strong.
"What are you gonna do to me, Spider-man?" You asked with an eye roll, looking up at his figure. "Not sure. I didn't really think I'd get this far." He admitted, chuckling at this and sitting down criss-crossed next to you.
You continued to fight at the webs, but they weren't giving in. "You seem...particularly angry tonight." He noticed, pinning your shoulder down with another web as a safeguard. You let out a frustrated grunt at this action before glaring at him. "Can you stop messing around with me and just let me go?"
He laughed. "If I let you go, it would defeat the whole purpose of catching ya." He leaned back with a sigh, tilting his head back to look up at the muted stars in the sky, obstructed by clouds of smog. "Nice night, innit?"
You watched him, biting the inside of your cheek in annoyance. "Wanker." You muttered under your breath. "What'd you just call me?" He asked, looking back down at you amusedly. "I'm not the one who was stupid enough to get caught, darling."
"Tonight's just not my night." You admitted with a sigh, lying back completely and letting you body relax as you realized you weren't getting away anytime soon. "Yeah? Why's that?"
"Why in the bloody hell would I tell you?" You asked him, glancing over at him. "Can't let my enemy know my weaknesses."
"Enemies? Is that what we are now?" He asked with a wink. "I don't enjoy having enemies. Yet I still seem to have a lot of 'em. I wonder why that is."
"I wonder." You replied sarcastically, smiling up at him. "They're just jealous of you, Spider-man."
"Yeah, they're just jealous." He laughed, putting his hands in his lap and leaning down towards you just slightly. "Look s'like you're making yourself comfortable."
"What else am I meant to do? You've got me all tied up." You said in an annoyed tone, frowning at him. He gave you a sympathetic nod. "It's either that, or getting my face kicked in. I'd rather keep the moneymaker intact."
"You could at least let me sit up." You said with a scoff. He hesitated for a moment, thinking it over, before he obliged, ripping the webs off. Even then, he barely gave you a second to adjust before he tied your hands together again, webbing them against the pole so that you wouldn't be able to escape. "Better? No more complaining, you prick."
"I'm not the prick in this situation." You rolled your eyes at him, looking to the side. "So we're not enemies then?"
The eyes of his mask widened slightly as he tried to think up a response. After a moment, he just shrugged. "I'm not sure."
"Mmm." You glanced back at him, tilting your head slightly. "What are we, then?"
"What do you want to be?"
"What do you want to be?"
He stared at you, a flicker of hope flashing across his face- or rather mask. "Friends." You felt your heart drop slightly, eyes widening. "That can't happen."
"Why not?" He asked, in an almost childlike tone, as if he'd throw a tantrum if you refused. "I'm a villain. You're a hero. We can't be friends." You replied quietly, looking back to the side, trying your best to avoid eye contact.
His head followed your gaze, forcing you to keep your eyes on him. "You're not a villain. You're just-" he stopped himself, searching for the right words. "-confused."
You chuckled, looking up at him with big, sad eyes. "Confused?"
He nodded solemnly in response, looking out at the distance the same way you'd had. "Yea. You're just confused s'all. Just need a push in the right direction."
"And which direction is that?"
"Left." he looked back at you jokingly. "I'm just kidding. You know what I mean." his voice softened.
You couldn't help but feel like he was right. The two of you'd never acted like enemies. Yes, you fought, but never to the point of harming one another. It was always just banter and half-hearted jabs, all smiles and laughter with none of the blood. It was nice.
But it couldn't last forever.
Villains and heroes weren't friends.
Spider-man could never be friends with someone like you.
Which was why, the entire time he'd been talking, you'd been sawing away at the webs holding your arms behind your back, waiting for the perfect time to strike.
The moment his gaze softened, the moment his spider-sense had died down, you swallowed back your guilt and shot one of your gadgets at him, throwing him against the wall with a loud thud. He recovered quickly, looking back towards where you were with wide eyes, but it was too late.
You were already gone.
You watched him from atop the radio tower. You watched as he approached where the two of you had been sitting before and put his hands on his hips, looking down in frustration. He stayed there for another moment, as if he was hoping you'd return, but when you didn't he just left, his swinging not nearly as energetic as it'd been before.
You watched him leave before you jumped back down, approaching the edge of the rooftop and straining your vision to see him swinging towards the heart of the city, hundreds of yards away.
Fists clenched in frustration, in guilt, you stared out into the distance for another moment before whispering,
"Until next time, Spider-man. Next time."

Hot take of whatever but the reason why so many fans have trouble connecting with the last arc of bnha is because they didn't pay enough attention to the League of Villains through the series.
Of course they would get bored in the end if they ignored the canon in order to feed their own fantasies of what the manga would be like. This is a problem that starts with people misreading Bakugo himself from the beginning of the story. How could you understand what drives Deku to be the best hero possible if you don't understand his rivals? The obstacles in his path and why they must be there, what they mean to him, how it all amounts to the final goal.
If those readers wanted a manga where the main character punishes the big bad villains why don't they do the mature thing and go read another manga? I've seen so many of them complain when a manga kills people only to bring them back to life some chapters later... At least bnha does the favor to keep the dead dead most of the time, with people losing limbs all over and those limbs stay gone. You want to see a carnage? Go read Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man.
"Oh I see they are using talk-no-jutsu". Do you get that a story that has communication as one of its main themes is allowed to highlight just how important it is that the people at power don't just jump to kill anyone they consider wrong, right? Even within stories like Naruto where the talking gets absurd sometimes, do you get that most of the time killing anyone on their path will solve absolutely nothing to the protagonist, but only successfully perpetuating the problem?
Again, anyone is allowed to say "this story does not have enough blood and violence" but that is your personal preference, not a flaw of the story itself. If you can't understand how the League of Villains connect thematically with the hero kids and why it's important that their storylines find their resolution together... I mean, Demon Slayer has better fights, a good amount of death and cruelty and it's gonna spell things out for you better, so go watch it.
Bnha is not even my favorite manga. Not a top 5 and I'm not sure if a top 10 (I have never done a top 10 because placing things in rankings often bores me to no end). Why am I defending it like this, then? Because it's absurd, some of the critics I've seen are so out of it it's kinda funny.
For a manga that is not supposed to be that deep (according to some), it's laugulab how many are ready to misinterpret it. Not that "I'm the only one who knows how to read it" and blah blah blah blah
Bnha really suffers for being way too popular for looking fun, having great characters, the type of worldbuilding is easy to interact with and some really cool merch. I just wish that the writing and art behind it was equally appreciated.

Bend the World Around It - Ch 1: Tell Me It Was Real
Written for @marimbles for the Little Bugs' Secret Santa. Inspired by @blur0se's Jubilation post.
Chapters: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Read on Ao3
Chapter 1: Tell Me It Was Real
“Tell me it was real.”
She can’t look at him. She can barely stand the pain in his voice. She definitely can’t face it.
“It wasn’t.”
He shakes his head, and turns to her - his eyes swirling in their intensity. “That’s not what I meant and you know it. Tell me that you were there. We were there together, having the same dream.”
She squeezes her eyes shut. She wants to lie to him. She needs to lie to him.
But she can’t.
Lying would be like it never happened. But it did happen. And if it’s all they get to have, she wants him to know it.
“I think we were having the same dream,” she whispers, unable to meet his eyes.
“We got married? Had four kids?”
She nods.
He sucks in a breath. “That means… you want it too.”
“I…” but she still can’t lie to him. “We can’t,” she says instead.
“Why not?!” he asks, but his voice cracks. He’s crying.
She’s crying too.
“Because… because when we did the world ended.”
“What?”
“When you and I got together, we lost and the world ended.”
…
No. He can’t – he can’t believe that.
“How do you know that?”
“I saw it. Bunnyx pulled me to another time, you knew my name, and the world was… gone, and I had to fix it. You told me our love destroyed the world, and she told me we couldn’t know each other’s identities.”
He stares at her. “So then, that’s it? We love each other and it doesn’t matter?”
He doesn’t know why this hurts more than not having his feelings returned.
“L-Love is a weakness,” she says. She won’t even look at him.
“Love is a strength,” he bites back.
“Chaton,” she says gently. “You almost cataclysmed a person. A victim .”
His right hand – his cataclysm hand – tightens into a fist. He knows that, as a hero with the power of destruction, he needs to put everyone else first, and he definitely never wants to hurt anyone. But he’s tired of always having to sacrifice everything he wants. He’s been doing that his whole life.
Except it’s Ladybug who is crying. Not him. Tears silently slip down her cheek, unacknowledged and it kills him. He never wants to make her cry even if his own heart is breaking.
He’s being selfish. She’s hurting too. She has to give up their love, their marriage, their shared life just as much as he does. And on top of that, she has to be the strong one to make sure nothing happens between them now in the real world.
He slumps down, ashamed. He won’t make her do this alone.
“I’m sorry,” he says.
“Honestly? I get it. I wanted to cataclysm him, too.”
“Or at least the alarm clock,” he says, smiling.
“Oh my god! I’m gonna hate alarm clocks even more now!”
He laughs. “Me too, M’lady.”
Sunday mornings had always been his favorite, where they lingered in bed together for hours.
But those Sundays never happened.
He needs to get over it.
“You shouldn’t love me,” he tells her.
She laughs. It’s a watery laugh. “Oh trust me, I have tried not loving you. I’ve tried to give up on love entirely. I’m really bad at it.”
He slips his hand into hers. She doesn’t pull away. Her fingers curl around his as they have countless times before and as they never have before.
“I love you, too,” he says.
She squeezes his hand.
Maybe the dream wasn’t real, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Not for them.
…
Going back to his room feels like taking a dozen steps backwards.
He thought he was free of this place, free of schedules and expectations. Free of his father.
What does it say about his relationship with his father that the man didn’t feature in his dream at any point?
He knows Ladybug introduced him to her parents, though he can’t picture them now. Her parents had come to their wedding, but he hadn’t even wanted to invite his father.
His room has always felt like a prison, but today, it feels a hundred times more lonely. It’s too quiet, and too big.
And missing his family.
His face falls into his hands and he shakes silently. Plagg curls up onto his shoulder and purrs.
Adrien’s glad he’s there. He doesn’t want to be alone.
But it’s not enough. No where close to enough.
Adrien cries harder.
…
Marinette goes home. It doesn’t feel like home anymore, but she doesn’t know where else to go. She offers her parents a bright smile that fades the instant she turns the corner up the stairs. She can’t tell them what happened.
She doesn’t call Alya either. Alya would listen, she knows. Alya would cry with her, too. But her dream feels too special to share. At least this soon.
She lays down to sleep, but she can’t get comfortable. The pillow is all wrong and the comforter isn’t warm. She tosses and she turns, until she throws the blankets off in frustration.
She knows what the problem is. It’s that he’s not there. She falls asleep to the sound of his breathing, to the warmth of his body laying beside her now.
Her body has forgotten how to fall asleep without him there.
Which is ridiculous . She slept in this bed yesterday .
Except yesterday feels like three years ago.
She lets out a heavy sigh.
Tikki’s head pops up from her usual place on Marinette’s pillow.
“Are you okay, Marinette?”
Marinette shrugs. “Not really, but I don’t understand. It wasn’t real.”
Tikki shakes her head. “Marinette, Daizzi shows you your true heart’s desire. That’s not something that’s easy to just let go or forget.”
“I miss him,” she admits, clutching her Chat doll to her chest.
“Then tell him.”
She blinks back the burn behind her eyes. “But we can’t!”
“You can, Marinette. Nothing can stop you from loving each other.”
“But the whole world ended!”
“Sounds to me that resulted more from you knowing each other’s names than from loving each other. Chat Noir is right. Love is a strength.”
“But how can we have a life together if we don’t know each other’s name?!”
“I don’t know, Marinette. How did you have a life together… for three years, you said?”
Marinette nods. Three years! They had three years together that no one else could remember.
“How did you have a life together without knowing each other’s names?”
“It was a dream, Tikki. The world bent around it.”
“So bend the world around it.”
…
She thought she could wait until the next day to see him. But she only lasts two hours. She has no idea where he is, how he’s feeling, if he’s okay. She can’t call him either because he’s probably not transformed. How did she ever stand not being able to contact him at any time? She doesn’t remember!
She transforms and goes for a run. She ends up in their spot, overlooking the entire city. Little blinking lights below fill the horizon as far as she can see. It’s a beautiful sight. She wants to appreciate it, but she doesn’t.
If she didn’t have to protect an entire city, an entire world, would she and Chat Noir be able to be together?
She’s barely surprised when he lands next to her in a crouch not six minutes later. He takes a seat beside here - he sits so close - far closer than he would have dared only a day before.
She reaches for his hand immediately. Their fingers interlace together easily, naturally. It’s just what they do now. What they did for three years.
“What’s wrong, m’lady?”
She stares at their interlaced hands.
“I couldn’t sleep,” she admits.
“Why?”
“I’m just… not used to sleeping alone anymore.”
His fingers tighten around hers.
“I couldn’t stand being back inside my room at all,” he says.
“What are we going to do?” she asks.
“I don’t know,” he says. “But we’ll figure it out together.”
