here's my take on the oc verse trading cards by @auxiliarydetective!! starring my current muses obviously, I've got some editing notes under the cut so feel free to just ignore it bc most of it is just rambling

first, I cannot thank you enough for making this guide Evie, I was so stuck on the numbers before I remembered that you literally gave me a guide to figure them out. Kenji's number (58) is a combination of 5 (ka) + 10 (ji) + 8 (ya), aka kajiya, the word for blacksmith in Japanese; I couldn't find any pun-related numbers for Mari, so I just used her symbolic number (13), I'll elaborate on this when the time is right ;)

it doesn't show up much, but I successfully changed the bg color for both of my cards! I have Single Child Syndrome and I Refuse To See Reason and I regretted it when after finishing it I realized that the original color looked best... ah well, at least they're more in line with their colors

the stats are both of them post OPLA s1, Mari is strong but she doesn't get a big fight scene so it's not obvious (but not better than the monster trio, hence the middle-ish placing), she does get an unhinged scene talking about her dream though; Kenji is himbo coded and I felt like I should make that Very Clear, he's slightly stronger than Usopp & Nami, but he doesn't train as hard as the fighting trio + Mari, so he's below average. both of them get to be a little stupid because it's the Strawhats, you aren't a crewmate if you're not a bit silly and unhinged amirite

you know what. it's been a hot minute since I've enjoyed and outright despised the ending to a story in equal measure. fascinating sensations! I am grinding my teeth!

Two things about Pit Babe came to my mind after the last episodes:

One, this show could have been thousand times more enjoyable if we didn't have novel readers on our neck breathing every plot point and twist ever. Like, so many things could have been really shocking and the drama built tension around them for it to lost all meaning because of the spoilers already going around.

Two, the fake dead. Listen, fake dying when you have 20+ chapters and enough story to full in the meantime of the grieving and the plotting revenge of your lover (ex. Word of honor): YES.

Fake dying when you have a 13 episode run and more ads than actual story: you could try...but.............

Charlie "dying" isn't a problem at all; the aftermath is. The drama should have shown us he was alive at the end of the episode or built enough story in previous episodes for the viewer to entertain itself with other than said character dying. Is like the drama is fighting over who should have more protagonism: the romance or the plot. Because you either are a romance with a subplot of car races and daddy issues or you are a drama about werewolf with superpowers who coincidentally ended up being together. AND, you have to choose what characters are worth showing and what are more as a tell. Like, tell me why they decided to complete ignore the fact that Kim and Babe hang out once and had more evidence and more targets to work on against Tony? Kim is...sleeping in eating in Alan's house while Babe roots in grief and depression. OR, why they showed Tony so early when they could have kept this big man on the shadows and work around the idea that a lot of the lost brothers of Babe are also victims and each have their own plan against him? Also, each character has his own hidden agenda and I am getting a little frustrated about how no one talks to anyone about literally anything; this isn't even a miscommunication trope, they are communicating, just not what actually matters.

Anyway, I am a little scared of the root the drama is heading to but I am also excited to see what else they are going for

The Fanbooks appeared for sale on the page unannounced (or at least, not that I knew about it) and I got them today!!! An early birthday present from me to me. There's so much info in there, I can't wait to read them!

At first I didn't think they'd sell it here, but after they translated the light novels (at least two of them) I got some hope and I'm so glad they did~
