Are your scissors dull? Would you like tips regarding sewing needles?
If you're having a difficult time cutting through material, your scissors likely need sharpening. There are two ways I've used for this, and they're both very effective.
The semi-free version:
Take aluminum foil, a long sheet of it, and fold this into about four layers.
Cut through all four layers, in thin strips, with your scissor. I make the strips less than half an inch apart, and cut the long way. You will need to be careful because the edges of the foil will be sharp.
After you get through all four layers at least six to eight times, fold what's left of the sheet in half. This will create eight layers, cut through these until the sheet is gone.
Test your scissors by cutting through scraps. I've made children's scissors sharp enough to cut through four layers of fabric when I use this method.
The inexpensive version.
Purchase this. You can find it in fabric stores, craft stores, and even a department store (like Walmart) in their crafting supply section. I bought mine at Joann Fabrics, when they had a sale, for less than $8.
Scissor sharpeners are super easy to use. Just follow the instructions they come with. Basically, you slide them in, and pull them out like you're cutting.
You won't need to do many passes for most scissors, but you will make children's scissors very dangerous.
For very small scissors, like applique or embroidery types.
Use the semi-free section.
You will only need two layers for the first pass, not nearly as much as you would for larger blades. So make the sheet smaller.
After five or six passes, fold the layers in half for four layers. Make several more passes.
Test your scissors to see how sharp they are. If unsatisfied, make more passes through the foil layers.

For hand-sewing sharpening needles, the little strawberry attached to the tomato pincushions serves that purpose. Stab your needle through that a few times. I find it works only so many times before I simply need to switch to a new one.
As for machine sewing needles, sharpening them borders on pointless. I suggest using Organ Needles if price is a big issue for you. My experience with Organ Needles has been phenomenal. The low price and high count, and the fact they last just as long as the name brand stuff you find in supply shops is just a bonus.
I have a pack of 100 sewing needles for less than $30. Compare that to the $10-$20 a package of five or ten name brand needle packs cost. Even if half the needles in my 100 pack start dull, it's still less than what I would otherwise pay. Thus far, this hasn't happened.
My needles go dull swiftly when I do any foundation paper piecing, stitching through fabric and paper, and paper dulls scissors* real quick. Imagine how fast that is with a needles, making hundreds of stitch through all those layers. If I notice the stitches look messy, I switch out my needle. I still have over half left, and have been using the same pack for around a year now.
If you're wondering how to dispose of the used sewing needles, may I suggest a plastic bubblegum container? I used to chew gum all the time, but had to stop after my doctor explained it's very bad due to my TMD/TMJ (and having hEDS also explains why large pieces of gum would dislocate my jaw). Because of my habit of keeping perfectly acceptable containers, I had two empty ones. One is used for my handsewing, like a little trash container. Opening and closing the floor models is irritating, and the fact I have a cat means all trashcans in this house must have a lid. Anyway...I use my second to hold used needles, broken or bent pins, and after four years of using this, the thing isn't even a quarter of the way filled. It'll likely be decades before emptying it will be necessary. The hard plastic edges make it impossible for any of the pointy ends from puncturing, thus making it safe for all and no trash bags will suffer.

Chiron: where is our physical (and mental) wound?
I'm currently reading a book about Chiron (did you know it's actually half asteroid, half comet? me neither), which inspired me to make this post. I'm in no way an expert in medical astrology, just a curious owl that wants to learn more about every branch of astrology out there (my Sag Venus loves it!!🤭)
DISCLAIMER!!! I'm not a doctor. If you've been feeling any symptoms described here, TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR, NOT WITH ME
Observation: Before we dive in, i'd like to mention that the position of Chiron in the houses is important. Not every house placement suggests having a poor physical condition. The most prominent Chiron placements when it comes to having a medical condition are: Chiron in 1st house (house of self, visible illnesses), Chiron in 5th house (illnesses since birth/early childhood), Chiron in 6th house (house of health, if Saturn is also sitting there it points to chronic illnesses), Chiron in 8th house (house of death, may point to severe diseases or poor reproductive health) and Chiron in 12th house (house of the unconscious, deals with mental illnesses)
Honorable mention to Chiron in 3rd house and Chiron in 9th house as they represent accidents while travelling. If Chiron is heavily afflicted in these houses (unless it's also conjuncting Jupiter), it may point to...let's just say you're gonna be in a hospital bed in a vegetative state, but remember, nothing has a 100% possibility of happening, you're just more susceptible to it happening. I suggest checking the position of Chiron in Solar Return charts for the possible timing of it happening (look for Chiron in 3rd house/Chiron in 9th house as it activates your natal Chiron)

Chiron in Aries: frequent headaches, frequent nose bleeds, teeth problems (sensitive teeth, tooth decay), deafness, skull fractures, cerebral anemia, brain tumours, hemophilia, epilepsy, BPD

Chiron in Gemini: lung problems (asthma, tuberculosis, pneumonia, etc.), speech problems (stuttering, cluttering, mutism), alzheimer's disease, ADHD, OCD
Chiron in Cancer: frequent stomach pain, prone to lactose intolerance, (for girls) breast lumps, breast cysts, breast infections, nipple discharge, depression, anxiety

BONUS: It's important to take into consideration all planets that conjunct, square or opposite Chiron (regardless if they're personal or generational) + the Ascendant for additional info about our illnesses
Ex. Let's take me as an example. My Chiron is in my 10th house in Capricorn squaring Saturn in 4th house (so double Capricorn energy) and Aries Ascendant. Guess what? I've got TMJ (basically a jaw disorder affecting the joints) and i've got it from my fam -_- (Saturn rules tradition i love my fam)
I also believe that having a heavy afflicted Chiron in general makes someone prone to having a medical condition, even if it's not in the houses mentioned previously (like in my case). However, these people are more focused on the main meaning of the house, not their health problems. They tend to ignore their health problems or they just don't care

Hey tmj girl here (just call me Kay LMAOO😭😭) but OMG ur account feels like a breath of fresh air. I adore the thorough explanations you always give I’m just in awe ur amazing thank you. I’m gonna take ur advice and try not to rely on ur account too much haha. But just one last question— due to some severe anxiety I let my college situation go into flames and now I might not have a dorm and I can’t afford to commute. I am trying to not react and behave as a person rather my awareness and take ur advice or “pointers” but I’m dreading the email that’ll tell me I screwed it. I want a miracle and a perfect dorm with a nice roommate but idk I feel like it’s too late. How do I stop fearing my reality and letting it control me? It always feels fake when I try I assume control and then it ends up screwing me in the end. Thank you sooooo freakin much for everything.

Hey Kay, I understand the situation your in might feel incredibly debilitating, trust me I’ve had my own that worked out how I wanted them to.
So I don’t want you to confuse yourself as awarness like it’s another person, like it’s another being and it’s perceiving everything seperate from it. Awarness is the entire experience, it appears as everything, you can feel anxious, you can feel however you want and let it out, it’s okay! I’d rather you do that actually because no one deserve to feel bad. Okay moving forward. You are, everything, so anything realized, is what you appear as, instantly, like a hundred dollars, the awareness of it, is not seperate from the 100$, it appears as it. Hope this is a little more clear. I think this is why I like using the world realized. The realization of $100 is the experience. You are everything.
Like how clay can appear as a pot, but it’s still clay, see?
So your situation is absolutely nothing to worry about. First just pick the outcome you want, make 1 or 2 things that help you realize that truth and understand, this is now the world. If it’s “my college situation worked out so well”, then I need you to realize, this is it. In the same way you can effortlessly realize “my college situation is in flames”. One statement is not more true than the other, they exist labelless, not good or bad, but just an idea, an option. The “existence” of your college situation working out perfectly instantly is what you appear as the moment it’s realized. Don’t worry about a single thing okay? (Or do, it doesn’t change the fact that your god) I want you to realize that you are already past it all, you have that nice roommate, you have that perfect miracle, you are the only one who can validate that. If you want to validate a situation you don’t find comfort in, understand you don’t stop being god so that is what you appear as. This realization of anything is the existence and experience of it, nothing more to do.

My FB post right now is being so useful:
Me: Okay, someone with TMJ, trigeminal nerve pain, and sinus pain help walk me through the differences so I can figure out what's happening in my face.
My microbiologist friend: "OMG SOMEONE FINALLY NEEDS ME!!!!
TMJ is an achy, muscular pain. If you press on the hinge of your jaw and/or the back of your skull where it meets your neck, you will feel intense pain followed by release. Causes headaches on one side, usually in the back. Opening your mouth wide while touching your jaw will produce a “pop” on one side and a feeling of sliding sideways on the other. Helped by: NSAIDS, muscle relaxants, heat. Hurt by: crunchy food, chewy food, jaw clenching.
Trigeminal neuralgia feels like random electrical shocks at the base of your teeth, radiating up into your cheek. One side. No headache. Pain can also be sharp or burning (when mine was at its worst it felt like someone put a flaming fireplace poker between my teeth and slammed my jaw shut), but the hallmark is that “shocky” pain. Helped by: medication that is specifically for nerve pain (like gabapentin). Absolutely nothing else helps. Hurt by: ??? (Mine is kind of related to the cold but…???)
Sinus pain is usually heavy pressure and an ache or occasional sharp pain in the jaw. Headaches bilateral and in the front of the head, in a “mask” around the eyes. Trigger points are at the inside corner of the eyebrow and the outer corner of the nostrils, applying firm pressure there will cause SEVERE pain that will lessen over time. Cheeks and forehead may also be sensitive to touch. Also might present as a sore throat. Helped by: sudafed, antihistamines, NSAIDS, cold. Hurt by: that depends on the person. If it’s unrelenting and doesn’t respond well to meds you should see a doctor to check for infection.
Oh my goodness I feel so useful 🖤"
My reply: "I love you. I also feel like all of that happened at the same time. But I'm going to call it TMJ, because the thoracic pain and upper shoulder stiffness is specific to the palsy spasticity, which means it'll hit the jaw muscles on both sides in slightly different ways."
Other friends also weighed in!
A. said "TMJ feels like you have the bottom jaw and the jaw joint hit with a hammer. Sinus pain in face feels like you could stick something into your eye or up your nose and it would pop the balloon that growing in your skull. Trigeminal nerve is one of the worst pains you have ever experienced and you would be at the hospital. It usually only affects one side of the face and it feels as thought someone is slicing your face open. (I don’t have it but a friend does but I experienced mild symptoms after a surgery that temporarily inflamed that nerve and even minor pain it was horrid and gave me a much much less accurate idea of how much pain my dear friend deals with cause mine was like 20% compared to her 100%)"

Sinus pain may respond to pseudoephedrine, but phenylephrine ain't shit, so check your Sudafed formulation before you decide that decongestant doesn't work.
TMJ, you might notice that you're clenching or grinding at night... or other people might notice more than you do.
Also consider for differential diagnosis, these things that can cause REALLY fucking bizarre referred-pain:
Ear infection (look for fever or pain spiking at weird times when you can't identify a trigger, also maybe nausea)
Dental/oral nerve impingement or infection, try swishing with an analgesic like a chloraseptic spray or lozenge, or oragel. See if pan resolves.
Try tapping on teeth and gums. See if any of them feel 'weird.'
Brush/floss/waterpik/whatever very thoroughly and then gargle and swish as aggressively as you can.
I had a poppy seed making me think I was getting shingles one time. Once it was out, I was fine. Weirdest fucking shit... anyway..."

I got sick suddenly and degenerated rapidly. It took me five years to get a diagnosis and guess what my first diagnosis was?!
Fibromyalgia!

Man I'm having so many frustrating thoughts about my jaw lately and I want to SCREAM!!!
Like ah, here is a long fucking rant.
Over a decade ago, pretty much overnight, my quality of life did a 180 with a host of symptoms starting up. Tinnitus, visual snow, pattern glare, light sensitivity, ocular migraines, an increase in headaches, some vertigo, brain fog, and just this like complete inability to focus my eyes like I used to be able to.
I've always been really sensitive to stimuli, but ever since this happened it's been cranked up to 100. I get disoriented extremely easily, with really no good way to avoid it. Like if the lighting changes in my room, I get disoriented and feel exhausted. If I go somewhere with fluorescent lights and walk around, I get exhausted. If I look at repetitive patterns I get fucking exhausted and confused and I hate it.
I kind of snapped honestly. And I let my anxiety take over my life. I convinced myself I had a tumor in my head or something, and I was so scared to look into it that when I got an MRI order for a brain scan I just ignored it.
And I just kind of lived like that for a long time, constantly worried there was something fucked up in my head that I was ignoring.
And I know that's a shit way to deal with concerning health problems, but I was scared, and I have OCD and it was just sort of a Mess. And arguably still am.
I've been trying to figure things out now, finally getting over my anxiety. I got that brain scan-- nothing. Didn't realize how much anxiety that was giving me, for a decade, until I did it.
But I still didn't have Answers for why I feel like shit all the time. I literally just spend most of my time on a computer, and have for years, because looking at a stationary screen is a lot easier for my shit focusless vision to handle-- and even then, I STILL wind up exhausted and confused if I have too much stimuli on a page. (And I'm sure the eye strain from the computer doesn't help in ways, but I cannot stress enough that being on the computer is like the only thing that keeps me sane and focused)
But the thing is, at the start of all of this I was having jaw issues. Like really severe jaw popping on my right side and a lot of pain. And I did look into my jaw Years ago, and found out through an MRI (of the jaw, not the brain, so it didn't scare me to get at the time), that the right condyle of my jaw is literally deformed. Like your condyle is supposed to be rounded at the top, but my right condyle is shaped like a lopsided heart, and it's surrounded by scar tissue.
And at the time I like was given a jaw splint to sleep with and told I'd probably need surgery to correct it, but the pain was bearable so I never looked into surgery. And I've just sort of lived with the constant jaw ache since then since I figured it was just a bum jaw and I could handle it so it wasn't worth looking into more.
And now I'm actually doing research on all of the havoc that TMJ can cause. And I'm just kind of feeling like something of an idiot, because it looks like I had my answer a decade ago and I ignored it. And now I'm just a miserable 30 year old who's struggling to just be a person because I can't focus, and I'm in pain, and I'm tired and confused and at this point I can only assume my deformed jaw I've ignored for years is the root of it.
And now I've gotta like get in contact with my dentist to ask about those old MRIs I had, and I gotta figure out going to a TMJ specialist through my current insurance and just--
Ugh.
I'm so frustrated. I'm so tired. And I feel like I've wasted so much time and I've been trying so hard to do better and get better but it's a fucking mess.
And like my family is expecting me to snap out of the funk I'm in and be a functional person since that brain MRI o had came out clean, and it's just like-- I still feel like shit all the time??
Nevermind when my family says my screen time causes all of this, when I literally started having heavy screen time BECAUSE of these symptoms that made it difficult to enjoy anything outside of a flat screen

very goofy to me how so many pelple are like “self diagnosis is bad” when a hell of a lot of more physical diagnoses are very easily physically diagnosable. like im very sure i have TMJ, my jaw hates me and wants me dead soooo bad in a way that lines up very well with tmj. not to mention my uncle also has tmj. and my doctor gave me a sheet on how to treat tmj despite me never getting 100% diagnosed. i also am sure i sometimes have cases of precordial catch syndrome because sometimes my chest also decides to hate me in a way that lines up very closely with precordial catch syndrome. and i dont think i need a doctor to tell me that random pains in my chest and jaw arent normal

Her Reawakening is inspired by my very own frontal lobe developing. Let's give it up for her! (applause emojis)
I've found myself in a life long rut. For some reason, I'd thought my life would magically take a u-turn and everything would work out in my favor without my having to work for it. I don't know what kind of delulu I was in but to my shock life doesn't work that way, and it's much harder without a plan.
So let me hold myself accountable here. My future self will definitely read this, and then I'll feel embarrassed about not having done a gotdam fuck thing.
It might have to do with the poison of Social Media which I am apparently very susceptible to, but I have this immense pressure and anxiety to be HER. I want to tear my skin off and put a new one on overnight and reawaken as Her, She. It's so frustrating not being able to do that. You know? Hehe...
I know I can become that version. And you can thinkpiece as much as you want on the dangers of women's toxic and impossible beauty standards on social media but I don't care. *laughs evilly* This is the world we live in and I'd rather enjoy the benefits of being an Angel on Earth. I've only just accepted that I'm starting at a certain point to reach my ideal version, so we're off to a good start. Hopefully whoever reads this will be able to learn from my experiences.
And this is not just the embodiment of beauty, but physical excellence, mental wellbeing, mindfulness, spirituality, social experiences, academic achievement, financial stability etc etc. <3
I want to sleep like a baby knowing I am doing my best to create the life I ENJOY living. I want to be the cuntiest, most solid version of myself. Every breath I take will be proud of me just because I am so excellent.
I have a few goals in mind at the moment.
Eat whole foods 95% of the time.
I am a particularly sensitive person, inside and out. My organs won't accept heavily processed food without making me feel sick, especially with gluten and dairy included. In my experience I have to eat as close to Whole as I can so I will actually feel like a real and functional person. To put this in perspective, eating this way for me is like putting the most expensive oil made for your car and also deep cleaning and detailing inside and out and getting brand new tires and a new paint job. It is a truly incredible feeling and I highly recommend anyone tries it out.
Also, cut out caffeine. I don't want to shock my poor body by going cold turkey so I'm going to slowly cut down my dosages everyday, take it early in the morning (but after two hours of being awake) and drink a lot water with it as well.
Green juices are amazing and my go to for breakfast. They help me feel so revitalized and give me a serious buzz.
I will grocery shop on Wednesday and Prep on Thursdays to avoid feeling overwhelmed of doing it all in one day.
2. Exercise regularly
Workout out 4/wk and Yoga 3/wk
I'm starting out with running since I'm not familiar with the proper forms you need for weight training. I add progression to my workouts of course, one minute longer, .5 miles longer, etc. I also do stair masters, and some leg machines that don't scare me. The glow I get from combining exercise and eating well is insane. It does take a week of 100% commitment for me to get to this 'candlelit within look' but I've done it before so I know I can do it again! I'm going to work out Mon/Tue and Fri/Sat and do an hour of yoga Wed/Thur/Sun! :)
3. Gua Sha/Face massage
I hold all of my tension in my face and traps, so I plan on getting masseter botox for a softer face and TMJ, which is a huge pain for my jaw! In the meantime I will face massage deeply every other day, at 8PM. I eventually want forehead botox as well to help with my frown lines. As an alternative I stick with forehead stickies and it makes a difference.
This is all I want to incorporate right now. They are my most bother some insecurities so I'll do myself the favor and create habits that support them :) I don't want to overwhelm myself and give up completely by too many goals.

not gagging is my secret weapon because my mouth can only open so far because of my tmj, BUT I know how to cover my teeth so they don't scrap- enough about me
I am gonna share the tip. So we can all be downbad sluts together. I stand in solidarity with my "I want to be used" chicks (couldn't be me because if your dick is in my mouth baby I am IN CONTROL). Now, this tip may not work for everyone, but it works for me and every friend I've told it to (aka only 3 people cause I only have 3 friends lmao). Now once you got a d or a strap in your mouth, you get used to it after a bit. But the initial and first few minutes is what im talking about
So you may want to test it now. I like to see what I can handle just to get an idea and prove it works. I am a weak bitch. I gag instantly if something goes back there. Instantly.
The trick is to pinch in between your thumb and index finger, I usually do my left hand. If you make an L and go right where the lines would join, not the bone but that soft skin in between your thumb and index finger. Pinch there for 10 seconds. It works both hands for me, only the left for one of my friends, idk the rest. I usually sit like im folding my hands together with pleading eyes so it looks like I'm all submissive and shit and it hides me doing this. Thats it. Pinch for 10 seconds then get to going. The lasting varies depending on how long you hold. You don't have to hide it if you don't want to, but its my secret weapon im not doing it in front of the men.
I just tested it again before I sent this, and it worked for me. And it works for my 3 friends. Maybe its just a placebo and I am hyping this up too much, idk, but it works for me and my friends so you best believe I am using it

i just watched the update video (and ill be honest, i may be reading it wrong) and like. i believe 100% that he's stressed and hair loss and skin conditions are awful to deal with, but what was he stressed about that caused it? content related bc main tss content isnt happening? even tho he has that team of people and all the patreon and merch money? i understand content creation is difficult, esp when you do as much as hes trying to do with the sides and rswr, but its been YEARS of "planning" the 4 part finale with 0 transparency. is the stress coming from him continuing to procrastinate on the series?
at this point i don't even know if id even watch the finale if it comes out.
i really honestly don’t know. like. im sure there are things going on in thomas’s life that we don’t know about that could be the source of his stress. but idk, he didn’t make things clear on that
it’s a tricky subject tbh, cos i don’t wanna assume that the stress comes from content creation (or the lack thereof)
like. he does have a life outside of youtube. maybe he has family things going on, maybe it’s general mental health issues, i really have no idea. and frankly, that’s the one thing i don’t mind not getting details about. cos thomas doesn’t need to tell us about the situation(s) causing him so much stress that he developed both TMJ and a skin condition
