Broke (2016): BBC Sherlock is a phenomenal piece of media and anything that seems like a flaw just hasn't been fully explored yet

Woke (2020): BBC Sherlock is an incredibly flawed series run by an egotistical writer, it never deserved the hype and is actively bad on so many fronts (especially representation)

Bespoke (2024): BBC Sherlock is flawed and bogged down by increasingly poor writing, which many fans refused to see while it was airing, leading to hugely misplaced expectations (particularly for the final series), AND it has the seeds of some compelling characterizations and portrayals, some genuinely solid performances, and touches--albeit imperfectly--on complexities that are still being discussed today (particularly as it relates to the relationship between Sherlock and John). The huge cultural impact of the show has created a massive pendulum effect in its public perception, leading to most people today remembering a caricature of the show (whether positive or negative) rather than appreciating its nuanced merits and failings...that being said Season 4 sucked

Under the surface ways Jamie utterly struggles with day to day life and society are things she has such a unique look into, and the way the various class dynamics play into it all with Mary-Annes role and Jamie's background and attempts to play at things, and the very unconditional dynamic they have

I know the ask is about ships but could you make a non ship one with Dean and Carlos from the Winchesters? I can't think of an exact thing for Dean to say, but the first sentence can be what Dean would say for their first meeting. Thank you if you can (*^‿^*)

Even with almost six years between now and the last time he'd seen Mary, Carlos is relieved to find that they still have a good sense of one-another -- can still communicate silently, swiftly, like they used to when it was life or death. He meets her eye, and her face softens, and understanding passes between them before he slides one of his lucky beaded bracelets -- the bloodstone one -- free.

Dean's eyes light up when he takes it.

Oh to be the old motherly maid of a royal family with grayed hair and youthful skin who is married to the old fatherly butler. To be the maid that wanders the palace's halls at night with a oil lamp when she sees the princess in a cloak escaping in the dead of night but instead of scolding or calling her parents or the guards she simply gives her a kiss on the forehead and wishes her good luck and hands the princess a necklace of gold so she'll always know who she is in her old age. To be the maid who waits outside of the queen's chambers with a plate of tea after she quarrels with the king and talks her through their marital issues. To be the royal maid who lays on her death bed surrounded by the royal family and staff and dies a peaceful death.
