#kingdom hearts #kh1 #end of the world #scenery #my gif #this world is so fascinating...#i'm impressed by how the devs can create unsettling and ominous worlds while still using such vibrant colors #like they don't use grey tones as a juxtaposition to the lively disney worlds. they may darken the palette but it's still colorful #also the music here is on a whole other level. they certainly know how to set a tone and atmosphere #i never really noticed how the gummis in the chasm are constantly changing colors. same with those sticky looking web things #i had to include two gifs from that place because it's my favorite area #and now i'm finally done with creating a gifset for every world in kh1 :] three games down... many more to go

Don't get too attached

#Brakul did a lot of the parenting for Erubi (the first of the Janeys-Brakul-Hibrides throuple bastard children) in infancy especially due #to Hibrides going through absolutely horrific post-partum depression (and not wanting to be a parent to begin with. Like she #had accepted it as an inevitability and a duty but when it actually happened it was just like Oh God. I am in hell)#Brakul is the only one of the three that actually Wants to be a parent and the fact that he can't behave as such in order to avoid #suspicion that he's the father is kind of a living nightmare for him a little.#Not like he isn't involved in his ''''nieces''' lives given he lives in the same household but he has to keep a bit of distance.#Janeys and especially Hibrides are pretty unsympathetic about this. For Hibrides it's like she has had to go through so much shit #to maintain this situation she never asked to be a part of and when he has to go through a fraction of that he breaks the fuck down.#He only wants the benefits of the whole situation and isn't willing to deal with the consequences.#This is also one of the very few things she's sympathetic with Janeys about like she respects that he's at least willing to play #his part and be miserable without bitching to her about it. Like she fucking hates him but respects the commitment to the bit.#Janeys is more just like 'Just go make more kids if you want your own so damn bad. Get a wife or something. That's what I #had to do and look at me I'm doing great I'm so normal'#The two kids aren't present on the pilgrimage (back home under the care of a hired tutor) but the Janeys-Brakul-Hibrides #Feeling Triangle are in a fucking tailspin over her being pregnant again like goddddd not this shit again #brakul red dog

what is your favorite thing about charles and your favorite thing about erik? separately, as in what you like most about their characters :]

a devious question this one is, my friend!!! it's hard enough for me to explain my thoughts cohesively, but having to pick ONE thing i particularly love is difficult. with characters like charles and erik, theres been so much done with their characters over the decades and so they have so many components to them that make them so interesting and fun to observe. BUT I TRY FOR YOU TODAY. under the cut i kinda ramble and the size of this text box makin me anxious

i think if i were to be simple and broad, what i enjoy most about charles is his determination to help others, even if he isn't really thanked and/or if people don't even like him. ofc, this isn't to say he hasn't done wrong- to be honest, the fact he does wrong/questionable things at times is another aspect of him i really enjoy, maybe because- broadly speaking- he's meant to be altruistic (intent vs outcome and all that). i don't know if that's super exciting to most people, but it is for me

as for erik, my reason for liking him is easier to explain tbh. To Be Simple And Broad, his progression from villain to antihero over the decades has been fun to observe (as much as i have so far anyhow) and analyze. i think to be a bit more specific, him using his rage and pain as justifications for his villainous actions is definitely what compels me the most: hurt people hurt and the sort, an idea i've always found interesting (something something vicious cycles and the like). yet now, he recognizes this wasn't really. A Just Thing To Do and is beginning to change that, which i enjoy

the raedoran cycle

[Fabin] tilts his head, pressing his forehead to the window frame. “What are dreams like?” he asks quietly.

Emilia sits across from him, watching how his eyes stare through the window but see nothing. She thought he'd left that behind in the weeks and months after their parents were killed, thought the long silences were finally over. She tucks her arms against her sides. “They're...like memories. Only more vivid.”

His fingers close around the hilt of his sword. “What do you dream about?”

She rolls her shoulders. “Places I've never been. Things I've never seen.”

One of his hands presses against the glass. “Do you ever dream of...of humans?”

She studies him with a worried frown. “Is there something you want to talk about?”

He recoils, his expression twisting with anger before it closes off. “No. I'm fine. I don't have dreams.” He turns away from her. “Never mind.”

Emilia sighs. “I talked Muiris down. He doesn't want to kill you anymore.”

“Good for him.”

“You should apologize for breaking his foot.”

Fabin turns to face her again, his eyes wide. “I actually broke it?”

#oh fabin......who are you dreaming about??#could it be.......a pair of grey-eyed sisters..........and a man in a purple cloak...............and a cottage at the edge of the forest???#no obviously it's none of these things. he doesn't have dreams dragons don't have dreams!!#emilia does but that's because she's /weird/ and has that whole red moon thing going for her. fabin is a NORMAL dragon #who has NORMAL feeling about humans. obviously #writeblr #writeblr community #tag game #original fiction #fantasy novel #the raedoran cycle #dragons #fabin #emilia #muiris #(pronounced like “more-eece”)#rb original #fabin dropped a cart of wheat on muiris's foot. muriris is his mentor the local miller and is a grumpy asshole himself #he's the one who gives fabin his sword and teaches him how to use it. this scene takes place about three years after that #anyway one of the reasons i've been struggling with dragons is because the plot is not super action heavy--it's rlly more an emotional dram #it's about two siblings grappling with the aftermath of an ethnic cleansing/massacre that they survived #but not before witnessing their parents' murder #and it hits close to home in a lot of ways that (esp recently) make it very hard to write #but slowly i am getting my head and heart around the plot #(sort of) unrelated but i remember coming up with keelan's general backstory in mid 2023 and then at the end of the year being completely #unable to work on the first chapter of lacuna at all because i would break down crying anytime i tried to put the massacre to words #realizing that's why dragons has been so hard for me is. difficult. because the story feels even more important now. but g-d at what cost

#ok short tags b/c for some reason firefox is using 70% of my memory to up- oh hey its done #that means long tags !#uh. this was a three day kinda thing #the first two were done in one day #the next two in one #and then the last one was one day in it of itself #was really trying to go for the 20/80 rule and i think it worked out? (it didn't. lack of planning led to a lot of changes down the line #that would have otherwise easily been resolved had i thought about it more than 2 minutes)#but in my defense the worms got me and i could do nothing but paint else id die #uhhhhh yeah no! if you saw my favourite brushes post youll see them in here HAHA #mostly lasso fill oil paint hardsoft and palette knife for this one #if anyone has questions or anything id be happy to answer! tho i feel it's fairly self explanatory

i hate doing laundry ough it's The Worst

#not only does leaning down to move my stuff hurt my back #but i have to touch dirty clothes and go into the dirty room and touch the dirty machines and i have to wear 2 pairs of socks (so my #normal socks dont touch the contaminated floor) and when i lean over the washing machine my clothes touch it <-the worst part of it all #tbh. now my current clothes are dirty but i have nothing to change into and i will have to wear them all day and it makes me SICK #and i cannot talk abt how dirty the garage (where the laundry machines are) it makes me nauseous that place kills me if i never #had to go into it ever again i would and i have to carry a laundry basket (dirty) and it touches my clothes when i carry it (disgusting)#and now my clothes are even more dirty and i feel like i cant touch any of my things bc i dont want to infect them but i cant just do #nothing all day when i have to do laundry but it makes me so SICK i need smth to cover all of my clothes but everything i've tried misses #some part and my clothes are ruined and it makes me SICK how am i supposed to do school or draw or anything when it's so bad #i have everything scheduled so i can take a shower and go straight to bed after i'm done but still it's so bad and it stresses me tf out #and i have to do laundry every 3 days because i only have 3 towels to use after showering and even if i did have more towels #i still would have to do laundry as often bc i couldnt handle doing multiple loads or having bigger loads my back couldnt handle that #w the system i have set up now it's just bad it;s all bad i hate doing laundry #i dream of one day where i can do laundry in a better way i think it'd involve not having the washer and dryer down steps bc that's #dangerous for one and for two not having them in a garage bc garages stress me out and three to have smth to cover all of my clothes #and 4 to have machines that dont need me to bend down idk if they have ones like that but it hurts #anyway that's it for listening to dux complain abt smth that ultimately doesnt matter and is only a problem bc their brain #chemistry is off #k bye i have to go do laundry *explodes* and take an exam *explodes* it;s an essay exam *explodes* and then im going #to like sit around feeling sick thumbs up emoji

I do think all of the adults had some part to play in creating the Dance but if I had to break it down to who had the most power to prevent it it would be Jaehaerys up to and including the Great Council, Viserys up until the moment Aegon is born and Otto from then on.

#jaehaerys could have named rhaenys his heir and prevented any sort of similar succession crisis from occurring in the future #all viserys needed to do was not get remarried and not have sons #i pass it to otto after that because the second that aegon came out male he began to scheme #(granted if viserys had stayed firm in his decision to remove him as hand i do think the chances of the dance go down #but this is still mostly on otto)#alicent's culpability is mostly from raising her sons to hate and fear rhaenyra's sons #so is rhaenyra's to a lesser extent but also for leaving king's landing and having three blatantly illegitimate children #(and then two blatantly legitimate children right after that)#daemon's is just from being generally unhinged and giving the greens legitimate reasons to fear for their safety #larys is the reason otto came back as hand #mysaria did technically help orchestrate blood and cheese #all the other members of the green council willingly committed treason #i was going to say corlys and rhaenys are blameless but no they pushed laenor into marriage knowing full well he's gay #forcing rhaenyra to have the aforementioned blatantly illegitimate children #also in the alternate universe where viserys chose laena they are probably a lot more culpable for that dance #but ultimately while all of the above are a series of bad decisions that culminated there were only three that could have stopped the dance #don't set a precedent that women inherit after men.#don't remarry or have sons after you've declared your daughter your heir.#don't scheme to usurp the rightful heir.#and that is why those three have the most culpability to me #house of the dragon

not pitting sincaraz against each other just pointing out an objective truth that jannik was not a dominate player/potential grand slam winner last season (age 21/22) and carlos will finish this season semi-dominant and with two more grand slams (+ an olympic medal) (age 20/21). you can see how quickly a player's career can turn around within one season. so any talk about carlos being washed/playing badly sounds silly to me i can't lie. yes carlos wasn't as successful this year as last year. yes carlos wasn't as successful this year as jannik. last year jannik's highlights were throwing up in a trash can and beating djoko in davis cup (exaggerating.) so i really feel like carlos's struggles this season are slightly overinflated. we talk about "he has time he has time" let's be clear not only does he have time in his career (he is literally 21) he also has time on his closest current rival (age-wise, carlos's 2024 season is jannik's 2022 season). it will be two years before carlos is even the same age as jannik is now. so like. lets be chill here u know.

#carlos is a wonderkid! a starboy! he's also just a kid and a boy #i feel like people talk about him having time in his career so often and its true but it also always makes me think like #he's already so far ahead for his age #he's been going through rough patches but in truth i still consider him more successful than jannik #'better player' <- different discussion #but more successful in my mind #i think people just see jannik's dominance this year and assume that's where carlos should be because he's already gotten so much success #and they forget that carlos is still in the infancy of his career #an infancy that i think jannik has only *just* grown out of in a purely temporal sense #i do think the next two or three seasons will determine a lot about both of their careers #but for carlos i think it has much more to do with moderation than performance #i.e. can he put his head down and focus more on improving his game than on bare results #if he listens to the way fans squawk about his 'poor performance' im worried he'll just keep trying harder #that he'll play more events that he'll be less cautious/strategic etc #my biggest fear is him breaking his body or mind before age 25 #but i think as long as he gets through the next few seasons without giving in too much to the pressure of winning every slam/tournament....#he'll be okay guys. he really will
