HOTD Favorite Christmas Music + Movie Headcanons
Merry Christmas everyone! Wanted to post something Christmassey for them (also just want to post more HOTD headcanons) so here you go!
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra: For music I think she’s a big fan of the pop classics: Jingle Bell Rock, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, Last Christmas and All I Want For Christmas Is You. As for movies, I feel like she’s a fan of The Holiday (prefers the Jude Law/Cameron Diaz story) and Love Actually (prefers the Bill Nighy story).
Alicent: Her favorites are definitely the choral versions of all the classic religious songs: Silent Night, Hark The Herals Angels Sing, Do You Hear What I Hear etcetera. Also fond of Pentatonix’s version of Mary Did You Know? Her favorite Christmas movies are It’s A Wonderful Life and Meet Me In St. Louis.
Daemon: I feel like he doesn’t put a lot of thought into Christmas music: just puts some of the more modern songs on and calls it a day. Loves Die Hard.
Viserys: Loves all the classic crooner’s renditions of Christmas songs (Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Bing Crosby), as well as the score to A Charlie Brown Christmas. Also loves Miracle on 34th Street and It’s A Wonderful Life.
Otto: Also a crooner guy, and that’s pretty much all he’ll listen to. Enjoys the movie White Christmas.
Aegon: Loves that one Trans-Siberian Orchestra song (you know which one I’m talking about). Loves Krampus, Home Alone, Die Hard, Violent Night, cries to It’s A Wonderful Life and unironically enjoyed Red One.
Helaena: She just has the Phoebe Bridgers Christmas songs on repeat all December, and is also fond of Silent Night. As for movies, I feel like she really loves those classic stop-motion television specials, especially Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.
Aemond: He does not strike me as a super Christmassey guy, but I can see him enjoying the more religious aspects of it - so same as his mom for the music, and declares The Hateful Eight his favorite Christmas movie.
Baela: All I Want For Christmas Is You and Santa Tell Me lover. Her favorite Christmas movies are Die Hard and The Holiday (prefers the Jack Black/Kate Winslet story).
Rhaena: Loves Fairytale of New York, the Phoebe Bridgers Christmas songs, White Winter Hymnal and Laufey’s cover of Winter Wonderland. As for movies, she loves Tangerine and The Holdovers.
Jace: Likes 80s Christmas music (Last Christmas, War Is Over, Wonderful Christmastime), and is yet another Die Hard fan.
Luke: Enjoys the secular classics (ie Jingle Bells) and Last Christmas. Loves Home Alone and A Christmas Story (but gets uncomfortable when Ralphie thinks he’s shot his eye out).
Rhaenys: I honestly feel like she has very diverse taste; she enjoys a bit of everything (classic, modern, religious, secular). Though if I had to guess, I’d say that her favorites are The Christmas Song and White Christmas.
Corlys: Yet another crooner guy, and I think he enjoys It’s A Wonderful Life and White Christmas.
Larys: Listens to the score from any Christmas themed horror movie. Loves Black Christmas and Eyes Wide Shut.
Alys: Listens to the horror scores as well, but also Christmas themed Gregorian chants and Weird Al Yankovic Christmas parodies. Also loves Black Christmas and Eyes Wide Shut. She and Larys watch them together every Christmas Eve.
Mysaria: I feel like she loves the modern pop songs - Santa Tell Me, Underneath The Tree, All I Want For Christmas Is You. As for movies, I think she’s another The Holiday lover (prefers Jack Black/Kate Winslet) but my random headcanon is that she watches a bunch of Hallmark movies every year and ranks them with a set of very strict criteria.
Criston: Choral versions and crooners exclusively. Loves Miracle on 34th Street.

Oh she is better then me cause I would have lost my mind and probably attacked him during the press tour- if this is all true of course (I am prone to believe it is, but at the same time in the back of my mind I remember how she didn't believe victims of Woody Allen and praised him, amongst other actors who were accused of SA which doesn't mean she couldn't be harassed but if she didn't believe victims makes me not want to which I know is a spite thing)
Agree with her being better, and I also completely get the spite response. Obviously that’s not what I’m doing, but I get the instinct to be like “god, not being believed must be horrible, if only you had,” I think that’s a very human reaction.

im not trying to say blake is lying or anything. there's literal subpoenaed texts/emails/other legal evidence. but what I dont understand is why did she wait so long? was it to gather legal evidence or is there something else going on here?
Almost definitely to gather legal evidence - also notable that she’s not suing him for the sexual harassment, she’s suing him for breaching their contract of “no retaliation,” which didn’t happen until the summer.

I honestly think this situation could explain the "distractedness" of Lively on-set: she was probably trying to avoid thinking about Baldoni and seeing him get praise for being a "feminist" in a "feminist movie" while harassing his female costars was probably incredibly maddening
Oh absolutely. If she was “off” on set she was probably trying to avoid them and dealing with the constant stress of harassment.
Also if I was her and I spent the summer constantly seeing “poor feminist Justin just wanted to make a feminist movie about domestic violence from a feminist perspective and raise awareness about feminist issues” I would have lost my mind.

If you don't mind answering about the blake thing, otherwise you can delete this, I dont want to bring anyone's mental health down. You seem smart and I was just wondering, as some people say the texts were gotten in a subpoena, how? I thought you had to have substantial evidence to get a subpoena? For example, I was reading a case where a mother helped hide her kids from the husband in a divorce but they didn't have enough proof and couldn't get a subpoena.
No problem!
I’m no legal expert, but my best guess is that Blake probably has access to a fantastic team of lawyers who manager to find some justification for a subpoena. It’s also possible that she or someone else on set did have that substantial evidence, they just haven’t come forward yet.

quick question, why do the texts look like that? All the texts I've seen don't look like any messaging app i have seen and look fake to me. Is it just a recreation of the texts?
And second, what do you feel about the claims that the "nude" video that was shown to Blake was of the guy's wife giving birth, apparently because she was recently postpartum and his wife was too. Is that secual harassment cause I wouldn't think it is, yes the wife would be nude, but does that fit? (This also ties in with the thought that Baldoni claims he asked about her weight because of a back injury and didn't want to injure himself and wanted to train to lift her safely but she claimed he was fatphobic allegedly)
I dont disbelieve her but reading this entire thing its like wait page after page of each claim, im flabbergasted. Why has past costars praised this man? Why do current people still do? Hasn't he spoken out against this behavior and then he's doing it?? Allegedly of course, but I am more prone to believe her cause there is more at stake in her career
Maybe I'm biased cause I dont really care for her, and I feel a ton of people don't, but that doesn't really matter. Even rude people can be harassed and bullied. It isnt okay.
Thanks again for your questions!
I do believe that the texts are recreations - I'm not completely sure about that, but I think that's why they look so odd.
Second, the reason that that's included in the claim is because that's simply inappropriate behavior. I'm not completely versed in sexual harassment law (though she has many other claims that undeniably fit) but showing your coworker a video of your nude spouse in an incredibly vulnerable position is just inappropriate. As for the lifting thing - what stuck out to me from those claims was that the complaint said that there was not a lifting scene in the movie, so any excuse of "it's just for my safety" seems off.
And as for your final question - people are just unfortunately like that. Baldoni isn't going to behave like that on every set (especially ones where he's not the director). And a lot of terrible guys will speak out against this behavior in order to deflect from the fact that they're doing it themselves - or maybe even because they're so lost in their cognitive dissonance (I'm recalling the quote from the complaint about how he tried to pressure her into shooting an orgasm scene because he wanted to make a film for "the female gaze.")
And of course in the end you don't have to like her, but you are 100% right, no one deserves that treatment, no matter their personality.

I’m reading the lawsuit now. I’m not sure. How can I tell if it’s legit vs lies?
Genuine thanks for this question and not just immediately assuming that she's lying.
Look, at the end of the day, none of us were there. The only people that know what truly went down are the people that were on that set (which is true of any lawsuit), but here's what's really convincing me.
First things first, Baldoni hired Melissa Nathan back in August to run his public relations (and this article even mentions the allegations that he made Lively uncomfortable). Nathan worked for Johnny Depp during his defamation trial against Amber Heard, and it has been found that a technique called "astroturfing" was used against Heard on social media during this trial. Astroturfing is defined as "the deceptive practice of presenting an orchestrated marketing or public relations campaign in the guise of unsolicited comments from members of the public." Basically, artificially creating hate or hype for a public figure but making it seem organic. If you remember the Depp/Heard trial, you remember how much social media seemed to turn against her. If you remember this summer, you remember how much social media seemed to turn against Blake Lively. The fact that the same public relations team was on the other side of both alleged smear campaigns is a red flag.
Second, the text messages that have been released between Baldoni and the PR team are, in my opinion, incredibly damning. One member of the team, Jennifer Abel, texted Nathan "I think you guys need to be tough and show the strength of what you guys can do in these scenarios. He wants to feel like she can be buried." Nathan responded "Of course - but you know when we send over documents we can't send over the work we will or could do because that could get us in a lot of trouble. We can't write we will destroy her. Imagine if a document saying all the things that he wants ends up in the wrong hands. You know we can bury anyone." Right below are some screenshots from the New York Times article:

Later texts also involve praise for this article
Now, is it possible that all of these texts have been faked? Of course. But they are also lengthy (I did not include all of them here) and considering what I mentioned above, unlikely.
Thirdly, I'm just considering who has more to gain from this. I will admit my own bias here - I've never bought the idea that women by and large make allegations to become rich or famous or to gain sympathy. Amber Heard is probably still one of the most hated women on the planet. Name five of Bill Cosby's accusers off of the top of your head.
But what does each party have to gain? If Baldoni loses this case and is found in the public eye to have sexually harassed the women on the set of It Ends With Us, that's probably the end of his career. As far as I know, he doesn't have the industry goodwill that Roman Polanski or Woody Allen or even Johnny Depp do, and he will most likely start losing acting and directing roles. If he wins, and the public decides that Lively is lying, his career won't be destroyed. It will almost certainly have been set back, and there will always be people who'll look at him differently, but overall he should be fine. He may even gain a new fanbase.
If Lively loses this case and is found to have been lying, her career is tarnished forever. She will undoubtedly be known as the "next Amber Heard," and she will lose out on acting roles. The taint may even carry over to her husband. If she wins, and the public decides that Baldoni did in fact sexually harass women on set, she will probably be fine. Like Baldoni, there will always be people who'll believe that she was lying, but she'll be overall fine. However, it's important to note that she had a third option: to not pursue this at all. If she chooses not to pursue legal action against Baldoni, both of their careers remain unimpacted. While there would still have been a negative public perception of her, it probably would have blown over eventually. A lawsuit and possible trial is much more permanent in people's memories. So to me, the fact that she's choosing to pursue this knowing what the outcome of her losing would be speaks volumes.
Finally, the fact that her lawsuit states that other women on set were harassed and felt uncomfortable. Again, could be a lie, but that is a lie that is very easy to disprove. And if the women who worked on this set testify that they never felt uncomfortable, that will permanently damage her case. It just feels like too much of a risk to play with if you're lying.
Of course, don't just take my word for it - do your own research, seek out differing opinions, etc. but those are my views. I hope they helped in some way!
