⊗ superhero cartoons to watch when little!!! (or big, they're that good imo!!) ⊗

✧.* i've been wanting to make this list for a while now, mainly because i wanna talk about my fav cartoons/open up opportunities for other littles to find something awesome to watch!!! there's gonna be a lot of ranges in age ratings to add some variety for older/younger littles :)

✧.* also, i'd like to put a disclaimer here and say that a lot of these are on streaming services that i own, but other littles may not. i would also like to say that there are ways to get around a paywall if you can't afford certain streaming services!!! you can find full episodes on youtube/other sites for free!!! (just use an adblocker if you're on a site other than youtube if u can!!)

✧.* another disclaimer: any regressor of any age can watch any of these shows!! i just wanted to put the age ratings for those who want to stick to media that's more in their age range!! so, don't feel like you have to limit yourself from watching certain shows just because of how old you regress to!!

✧.* spectacular spider-man (2008-2009, 2 seasons): suitable for 7-8+, but i'd say it'd be okay for littles who regress younger to watch, too!! honestly, my all-time favorite spider-man cartoon!!! not only is it fun to watch while little, you can truly appreciate the show when you're big, too!!! josh keaton's voicework as spider-man is just- ahhhh it's so amazing imo!! the story is really good, the animation/style is just so iconic, and the colors are very easy on the eyes!!! (especially if you're sensitive to bright colors when little/in general) absolute banger of a theme song, too!!!

✧.* x-men: the animated series (1992-1997, 5 seasons): rated for around 7-8+, but i do admit that there can be some scary scenes for especially younger/more sensitive littles. honestly, this show is great!!! i loved all the different story arcs, how colorful the show is, the characters themselves- a lot of cool stuff about this show!!! be warned, there's a sudden drop in quality during season 5... i think they switched animation studios/va's or something because season 5 is NOT the best season of the show, i'll tell you that... 0_0

✧.* x-men '97 (2024-present, 1 season so far): rated for 14+, so this show is more suitable for teen regressors. it's a continuation of x-men:tas, and oh man... this is it. my favorite cartoon of all time!!! the animation is just oh so beautiful!!! the fight scenes are awesome!!! the soundtrack- oh golly the soundtrack!!! the remastered x-men:tas opening is just- wow!!! but, there's definitely reasons why it's rated 14+... not gonna spoil anything, but there's a lot of scenes in the show that can be upsetting for younger littles. trust me, watching some scenes when you're little is just- too much sometimes... (speaking from experience) it's an amazing show, but watch at ur own risk if you're a younger regressor!!!

✧.* batman: the animated series (1992-1995, 4 seasons): i'd say it's for around ages 9-10+, since it can be fairly dark at times. (same goes for a lot of batman related media!!) honestly, this show's pretty good!!! the style of the show is very dark visually, so it's easy on the eyes for those with bright color sensitivities!!! the artstyle itself is also very nice to look at!!! the voicework is amazing as well, especially kevin conroy's (rip) performance as batman himself!!! from what i can remember, the plotpoints were also pretty on-par!! i remember liking the show a lot when i was a kid!! :)

✧.* hulk vs. wolverine (not a show but an animated movie, 2009): this one's rated pg-13, since there's depictions of violence. but, i gotta say- this movie had me hyped up when i watched it as a kid!!! this was part of a straight to video two-movie collection, (the other being "hulk vs. thor") and i gotta say... this movie was awesome!!! the fight scenes were rad as heck, the animation was amazing, even deadpool was in the movie!!! (which, fun fact, was his first appearance in animation!!! other than the 2 second cameo in x-men:tas) very fun movie!!!

✧.* these are just some recommendations!!! i really liked these when i was a kid, and i hope you'll like them too, if you decide to watch them!!!

Top 5 villain moments in fiction!

hmmm so are we talking about moments of villainy or moments by villains because those are kind of two different questions. With overlap! But still. I'm going to go with the former for this one but please feel free to clarify/ask for the other one

1. Vegas torturing Pete. It's the thing that got me into watching the series as a whole! What an incredible scene. It's! Got! Everything! Psychological and physical torture! Revelation of child abuse in front of the guy you're torturing! Vegas making all kinds of good faces! Pete falling apart! Kissing a guy's neck while you're torturing him! If there were nothing else I could've been fed on this scene alone for years, probably.

2. Morgana BBC imprisoning and brainwashing Gwen. This entire plotline was so good for me in the sense of "forcing your previous friend/girlfriend to be your friend/girlfriend again by force" and it's perfect for Morgana's specific issues because she's so very motivated by the feeling (/fact) that everyone abandoned her. Also bending your former friend/girlfriend into the person you want her to be because you're deeply psychologically fucked up about how she doesn't like you anymore is a very specific trope that I am quite into.

3. This is going back a ways but the confrontation between Thor and Loki at the end of Thor is a classic. Dysfunctional siblings talking past each other! Recent attempted murder! Thor doesn't fully understand the situation and Loki isn't helping. I'm all about that family drama as the driver of villainy.

4. I was thinking hard about a Wheel of Time moment for this meme on account of the Wheel of Time comeback on my blog lately, but the one that comes to mind is more a moment for a villain than a villain moment. (I hope that distinction makes sense to anybody else.) So instead I'm going to go a completely different direction and say Clytemnestra murdering Agamemnon, specifically in the Oresteia, which I guess is arguable about her villain status maybe but the narrative certainly thinks so. Yes, it doesn't technically happen onstage, but I think it counts and I'll include the aftermath with her defense of her actions. There's really cool stuff about that scene specifically that I'm not going to get into right now, but I read Agamemnon for the first time in undergrad and this particular moment lives in my head, as they say, rent free.

5. Hard to pick just one for Xue Yang but I'm going to go with the last argument with Xiao Xingchen as the winner because YIKES that's a big one. Also marks Xue Yang as #king of wrecking his own life along with his intended target without realizing that's what he's doing until it's too late to fix it. Truly iconic. He's winning. But in seriousness...the brutality of it, the calculated cruelty that comes from deep hurt, the meticulous destruction of everything that matters to Xiao Xingchen one thing at a time. Big ouch! Love it.

ASSIGNING IDENTITIES TO HTTYD CHARACTERS

1. Hiccup

Given that Hiccstrid is canon him being bisexual would be more canon compliant, but personally I could also see him being gay. He also gives such massive trans guy vibes even though I know canonically it isn't that supported. All I know is there's no way this guy is cishet.

2. Astrid

Her and Heather definitely had a thing going on, but given her relationship with Hiccup her being bisexual would be canon compliant. Also a good opportunity for a battleaxe bi pun.

3. Snotlout

Bisexual. The most bisexual man ever to exist. We all remember that crush on Thor Bonecrusher (badum tsss). Pretty much has a crush on every girl who kicks ass and particularly manly men. Love that for him.

4. Fishlegs

He's straight. He hasn't had romantic chemistry with anyone who isn't a woman and I can't imagine anything else for him. He's a cutie though.

5. Tuffnut

He's never shown any romantic interest in anyone ever and he genuinely couldn't care less about it. Even when talking about Ruffnut getting married he imagines himself just moving in with her and her partner rather than imagining the same for himself. His only loves are his chicken and his mace. He's an icon.

6. Ruffnut

Just as Snotlout is the most bisexual man ever to exist, Ruffnut is the straightest woman ever to exist. By God does this girl like men. She really really really likes men. Good for her.

7. Heather

She definitely had a thing going on with Astrid so she's not straight. I know she canonically dates Fishlegs which would make bisexual more canon compliant, but she gives such strong lesbian vibes.

8. Dagur

A few reasons. Firstly he just gives major chaos pansexual energy. Secondly he eventually married Mala and also seemed to flirt with Hiccup all the time. Thirdly he seems to experience attraction despite gender as his taste in women is exactly the same as his taste in men. He just likes skinny people with short hair and green eyes.

9. Viggo

He's gay. Trust me on this one, I can tell. My gaydar is never wrong. I will not be taking questions. There's no reason for a straight man to serve cunt that hard.

1) Jane Foster - She’s my favorite superhero ever! She became my favorite superhero by watching the first Thor and later reading the comics! She’s such an inspiration I strive to be her everyday! 🥹🫶🏼

2) Thor Odinson - Like Jane I saw the first Thor and immediately fell for Thor! He’s sweet kind and will do whatever it takes to protect the people he loves! I just… he 😍🤭

3) Optimus Prime - Okay I know he’s not TECHNICALLY classified as a superhero but to me he is! He sacrificed his life for the tyrant Sentinel Prime to be spared and he treats everyone as one, as they should be! He’s such a great leader and prime! I would die for him okay?! 🥰

4) Wonder Woman - I grew up with my mom loving Wonder Woman and she was the first superhero I was introduced to. She always had a special place in my heart. I even dressed up as her for Halloween when I was little!

5) Superman - Also when I was little my mom Arendt introduced me to Christopher Reeves as Superman! And I love how soft and adorkable Clark Kent is and how protective Superman is! I can’t wait to watch the new Superman movie soon! (I am also considering watching My Adventures with Superman to prepare for the new movie curtesy to @auxilioooo who loves the show!

6) Black Panther - I loved Black Panther when the movie first came out. I read all the books about Tchalla and I loved Chadwick Bozeman as Black Panther! Rest in peace king! 🥺

Ranking of my Favorite Villains

I would like to point out that this ranking is a mix of love for the people but also of analysis of their construction and history, for this reason the ranking will be hybrid and the characters' positions will be given considering not only my love for them but also the brilliance and complexity of their writing.

Let's start with a bonus: Gellert Grindelwald (Fantastic Beasts)

I love Grindelwald very much and I find him a potentially very interesting villain because of his tormented history with Dumbledore and the final attempt to protect his tomb from Voldemort, but we know too little about him, the films in which he was the main villain did not satisfy me at all and therefore I consider him a castrated villain. The honorable mention was in any case due.

10 Coriolanus Snow (Hunger Games)

He's mean, he's calculating, he uses an iron fist and he has a charm all his own. I loved him in every interaction with Katniss, I loved his story and his death with that crazy laugh. The only man I would want to receive white roses from.

9. Aleksander Morozova/The Darking (Shadow and Bone)

Breathtakingly charming, he makes a mess of things by creating the rift, but before he became the Black Heretic, he was just a child afraid of the dark who traveled with his mother in search of peace. Could he have been used better? Yes. Do I still love him? Of course.

8. Hector Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Literally everyone loves him, including his old enemies. An undisputed enemy in the first film of the saga, his constant bickering with Jack Sparrow is as iconic as the monkey he carries on his shoulder. Cunning, opportunistic, turncoat and courageous, the ending with his daughter consecrates him as an undisputed icon.

7. Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones)

Ruthless, opportunistic, cynical, she would kill her children rather than hand them over to her enemies (literally). She wanted something else from life but had to fall back and made sure she could always get the most, using every subterfuge, without shame and without second thoughts. This is how you write a great villain.

6. Bellatrix Black (Harry Potter)

Unfortunately, the lack of more information about her prevents me from putting her closer to the podium, not to mention that she is a secondary villain, but for this reason she deserves this ranking at all costs. Loyal, brave, intelligent, cunning and without scruples, she would kill her family (literally) if they dared to go against her. The definition of strength made woman.

5. Aemond Targaryen (House of the Dragon)

A child bullied by everyone but brave and intelligent, a prince mistreated despite being more competent than the rest of the family. Aemond may be at the bottom of the list of succession to the Iron Throne but he doesn't know it and together with his cunning and his beloved Vagar he becomes prince regent anyway. Always go Aemond!

4. Homelander (The Boys)

Take a test tube, create a god, fill it with trauma. Here is Homelander! An extraordinary villain, a devastated psyche, a cruel and merciless world. You can't help but be terrified by a character like Homelander, he can literally do anything when he's on stage, and yet it's not all his fault, because they created the monster and now they don't know how to stop it. A character so terrifying and well written that he is loved despite everything he does.

3. Loki Laufeyson (Thor/The Avengers)

My love at first sight (not ironically). An abandoned child, a wounded brother, a son cast aside. Loki has exquisite depth, he is a deceiver but has real feelings of suffering, he feels inadequate and unloved, he is in constant struggle with himself. Ironic, intelligent, cunning, he is no longer in anything else just because this is a ranking of villains and for me he has never been a one hundred percent villain, he was certainly the first to have my heart among all these characters and he always will be♡

2. Hwang In-ho/The Front Man (Squid Game)

The fallen hero, a just and generous man who finds himself alone and abandoned by society and so, just as she turned her back on him making him lose everything, in the same way he stops having hope. Does he suffer in doing so? A lot. Does he continue on his path? Despite everything he does, he goes forward without ever betraying his new beliefs, remembering with a resentful pain what he was through Gi-hun. What can I say, a tragic character whose fate is yet to be discovered.

1. Tom Marvolo Riddle/ Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter)

Obviously, who could be at the top of a list of villains if not the personification of evil? Lord Voldemort is not only that, he is a wicked deceiver, a cunning bastard who made his way up on his own from a squalid Muggle orphanage to the top of the Ministry of Magic. Not only that, he charmed his noble companions so much that they swore loyalty to him until death. A man with a complicated past, a disastrous family and only his skills as support. A character rotten to the core but so human with his fears, anger and grudges that he deserves more consideration because he is much more than a simple villain in a children's book.

Far worse than the sterilization itself was how AoU framed it.

Troubled, Bruce admitted, "There's no future with me. I can't ever… I can't have this. Kids. Do the math. I physically can't."

Natasha opened her heart, "Neither can I. In the Red Room where I was trained, where I was raised… They have a graduation ceremony. They sterilize you. It's efficient. One less thing to worry about. The one thing that might matter more than a mission. Makes everything easier. Even killing. You still think you're the only monster on the team?"

After hearing her emotional confession, Bruce's answer was a flat, "So, we disappear?" That was the end of it.

Infertility is a deeply painful experience for many, and it should never be equated with a person's humanity. Ever. Yet, that's exactly what this infamous exchange implied, even if unintentionally. How did no one — writers, editors, directors — catch this?

Bruce's implication, "I'm a monster, therefore I can't have kids," could never justify or suggest Natasha's conclusion, "I can't have kids, therefore I'm a monster." Right?

Both are deeply flawed — and damaging — ideas.

So… was AoU any good for Bruce Banner's arc?

The scene described above was an unnecessary, uncomfortable moment made worse by his passive reaction, which seemed to tacitly affirm the degrading notion that infertility diminishes a person's worth. Given his expertise in biology and medicine, Bruce should have questioned Natasha's distorted logic, responding with empathy and compassion even if he felt conflicted. Instead, the film depicted him as almost heartless, undermining his intelligence and emotional depth. Both characters were sidelined during a vulnerable moment that could have fostered genuine connection.

Bruce's iconic line, "I'm always angry," in The Avengers (2012) and Hulk's controlled demeanor when the team confronted a defeated Loki in the end of the movie suggested that Bruce had begun to achieve a degree of balance with his troubled alter ego. But in AoU, his sudden dependence on Natasha's "calming lullaby" trope — reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast — felt like a regression, undermining his hard-won progress.

The romantic tension between Natasha and Bruce in AoU also felt problematic, especially in light of Bruce's emotional struggles in The Incredible Hulk (2008). In that film, his physical intimacy with longtime girlfriend Betty Ross was constrained by his condition — any intense emotion, including arousal, could trigger his transformation. In AoU, Bruce's line, "I physically can't," could imply that he believed intimacy, and therefore fatherhood, were out of reach for him. In this context, Natasha's flirtation and sexual innuendo almost felt like emotional torment. Was she knowingly taunting him? A cynical view could suggest that it was all an act — that she was merely manipulating the man to tame the beast. Her actions come across as dismissive and ultimately undermined and trivialized them both.

Side Notes:

In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (Season 2, Episode 9, 2012), Bruce was hit with an adrenal inhibitor that temporarily prevented him from transforming into the Hulk — a potential solution if he wanted physical intimacy.

In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022), Smart Hulk introduced his son, Skaar, in the season finale. In the comics, Skaar is the biological son of the Hulk and the alien Caiera from the planet Sakaar — where MCU Hulk was during Thor: Ragnarok (2017). So, yes — he only needed the right partner after all.

Hank has fair skin, blue eyes, long dirty blonde hair that he often keeps in the form of a ponytail, a soul patch, a lean frame with a muscular build, stands at 5’5, and is 34 years old.

As for his outfit, it would be the same outfit from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but without the trunks.

The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne-Pym)

Janet has fair skin, brown eyes, yellow and black lips, brown hair in a pixie cut, an hourglass figure with a muscular build, stands at 5’10, and is 32 years old.

As for her outfit, her iconic yellow and black suit, but with the same antenna muffs from EMH as well.

Black Widow (Natasha Romanova-Rogers)

6. getricheasy sports shirt

The first of four from Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist, this had its first appearance in Only Friends and was used in the promotional material for The Outing but I didn't spot it in the show, so I'm happy to see it again. Who knows if it will be used in the actual show...that goes for any of these items incidentally.

5. Blue with yellow detail knitted vest

I've had a screenshot of this vest worn by Thor since I saw it as Wednesday Club aired. I swear I've seen it somewhere else before but can't remember. But hence why it immediately jumped out to me in Perfect 10 Liners.

4. Green sports jacket

On to the second of the four from Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist, and oh to be Poon and be able to wear the jacket that our King and Queen have worn -> first by Namtan in UMG and then Mix in his glorious cameo at the end of Only Friends. I predict we'll see this again a few more times.

3. Blue with brown edging shirt

I was happy to see this one, another in Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist, because I had kept it in my mind since seeing it in Only Friends - as another potential that might get worn again. It's subtle yet quite distinct...and very much in a similar vibe as many other shirts worn by Force (and shared with Sea, Ngern, and New amongst others).

2. Red, blue, and green striped t-shirt

I'm impressed with my brain for spotting this one, the last from Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist, because at first it just felt familiar, and I immediately thought of UMG but I thought it might just be because it's similar to a few stripy colour shirts that Nanon wore. But I had a look through my screenshots of the series and eventually found it all the way at the end...

1. Ink's mustard knitted vest!

This one I could not believe. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would see this iconic vest from Bad Buddy again. But here we are, on Mix no less in Ossan's Love. It's not something you'd expect to see on Mix...but then again I thought the costuming of the trailer looked a lot more 'quirky' than usual and very much fitting the kooky/slapstick vibe of the series. But honestly, this made my day.

My new Thor toy

I found this Prince Thor action figure at a flea market! Isn't he gorgeous! 🥰 Well, it's probably my love for His Imperial Majesty God Chris Hemsworth that's making me exaggerate.

It's true that this blue outfit is very simplistic. Especially since I found the figure without his Stormbreaker axe, which is a shame. And i would also wanted him to have his cape 🤗

However, even if Thor's outfit in THOR LOVE AND THUNDER isn't entirely blue like on the toy, it doesn't bother me because blue is my favorite color. 💙

I'm just sad that Chris Hemsworth's back here is not realistic. I wanted to kiss and lick Thor's butt 🤤 I've already suck his boots though 🫣🤫

Here is the other toy with Thor's golden helmet. It's still really beautiful 🥰 but it hides Chris Hemsworth's godly face
