Thoughts on the other male dungeon meshi characters? Shuro, Senshi, Chilchuck, Kabru, etc?

Also would like to hear about the female cast too, if that tickles some fancy to your brain to spoot (spit) out about them too :}

I adore all the men in this series, cmon they’re all so edible and tasty. My personal faves (outside of Laios) are Chilchuck, Mithrun, Thistle, and ofc Senshi. (When it comes to the men specifically!)

These characters all have very different personalities so I’d probably make a whole hc post or even relationship Drabble post for them some time in the future. I have lots of fun and nasty cute thoughts about them. But to satiate you momentarily before I get to those, I’ll give you a one or two hcs about them.

Chilchuck

Man is a jealous guy, like JEALOUS jealous. He can’t help it. Even he thinks to himself how childish it is to have these feelings as a grown man dating ANOTHER GROWN MAN. It’s not something he outwardly expresses either, it’s hard to decipher him being jealous or if it’s just a bad day for him. (To him, it’s both.) under his breathe he’s muttering threats and such towards whomever is taking your attention or flirting with you- maybe they’re simply too friendly for his liking. Maybe they brushed your arm or shoulder while talking and it takes everything in him to take on the Not Half Foot at your heels. Even if it is another half foot he still wouldn’t outwardly act on it- he knows better and knows he needs to learn how to deal with these situations and emotions.

Mithrun

He is not one for physical affection, privately and obviously in public. But, he’s come to enjoy sitting infront of you while you card through his hair and thrum your fingers on his neck. Gently prying apart the small, loose knots in the strands he’s gotten throughout the day. He can’t help but lean into you, with his eyes closed with the softest smile to pair with it while you massage his scalp, moving down to gently circle or tap the soft skin on his neck. You could be talking about your day, talking about everything or anything, or maybe even nothing. The feeling of your hands so lovingly passing over the tension stored in him lets him fall asleep quite easily these days. It’s unknowingly become a routine for the two of you. When the two of you reunite at the end of the day, he’ll find you and sit infront of you regardless of where you are. And he sits there, not once has he ever had to ask and by gods he wouldn’t ever want to ask.. but luckily for him, you’ve grown to enjoy the intimate routine.

He’s comfortable. He never knew such a simple thing like a scalp massage could ease so much tension in his body and mind.

Thistle

Enjoys doing your hobbies together. Whether it’s baking, cooking, sewing, crocheting; he is more than content to sit beside you and either watch or partake in the activity. Sometimes the two of you will chat while doing it, listen to whatever music you happen to be into- maybe he’s sharing his own taste of music with you- and other times, like when he’s watching, it’s a nice time for him to relax in the presence of someone he actually enjoys and finds himself comfortable with. You don’t expect anything of him, and it lifts an unknown weight from him. It’s a safe space and time for him, with you, in these moments, he doesn’t need to worry his pretty little head about anything.

Senshi

Weirdly enough, in my head, he will not let you cook. You’re his significant other and he wants to feed you! He barely lets you eat out aswell. Even if you enjoy cooking, he’d much rather you tell him what it is that you want or tell him how to do it. You can be his sous chef but to him, when it comes to you specifically, this is an intimate act of love for him. Being able to satiate any cravings or wants in regards to food fills him with nothing but pride.

Must remember to be mindful if you happen to enjoy cooking from someone else if you’re away because he will always find some way to make it far better than however whoever else made it. Acts of service, like making food and meals for you, is his love language.

As for the women, I ADORE Marcille, Fleki, and Tade. Even though I don’t see myself writing for female characters (aside from maybe platonic plot lines in fics) I do like them a fair bit!

Thistle

Initially, Thistle is just as prickly to you as he is to any intruders to his 'perfect' paradise. Though, so long as you're only traipsing around the upper levels, he doesn't pay you any mind.

It's as you start to intrude on the 4th level or lower that now you have his attention. He's going to be keeping tabs on you and the rest of your group, and while he sees you as insignificant pests, he knows that he can't just allow you to keep roaming about without anything standing in your way.

He'll send monsters to deal with you, and if you prove particularly troublesome, he may even show up to deal with you personally. It's potentially there that you begin to catch his eye.

(Romantic)

Thistle is obviously very protective of you, just as he is protective of any of the occupants of the Golden Kingdom. There is not a single monster that would dare raise a claw to you, and Thistle is keen on keeping it that way.

At the end of his day, he'll come up to you and rest his head against you. This is his way of communicating that he wants attention and affection. He'll never openly say that he desires your company, he expresses it in overt and somehow simultaneously covert actions like bumping his head against you and laying against it.

He loves when you cup his face, cooing at him and drawing your fingers along the edge of his ears. Some days are harder than others, but the easiest way to melt his heart is to hear you compliment him and reassure him. Even despite the fact that he'll scoff and go, "Of course I'm doing a good job. Only a fool would think otherwise. And no love of mine would be so foolish." It's nice to hear you confirm that belief.

Thistle isn't a big smiler to begin with but he's got a pretty moderate gap between his top front teeth and he's just recently started to begin breaking down that habit of hiding them. When he does smile, it's typically that boyish and lazy lop-sided grin.

they're a permaregressor, but get even littler sometimes. it's always involuntary, usually when they're very distressed. they're not typically aware of it happening, and have never had a word for it themself.

8. in what ways are they different when they're regressed? do aspects of their personality or interests change at all? are they similar to how they were when they were an actual kid, or completely different?

when regressed, Thistle gets veryyy fussy. they throw tantrums easily, but also get very sleepy and are easier to cheer up than when they're bigger. ultimately, their emotions are more easily swayed. their interests are pretty similar, being that their primary interest stays as the arts (and Delgal)

i understand why people hc that post-canon thistle might stay with or near falin assuming that he lives which i am because he does live, leave me alone. faligon caring for thistle and the mother-child imagery, etc. i get it. but i don't see falin actually being ready to take care of a traumatized 1000 year old teenager who would be struggling massively after having all his desires eaten.

there is, however, a character who's up to the task imho

she historically adopts short-lived races, but i think thistle's unique situation would be interesting enough for her to consider it. AND thinking about how thistle's fear of his short-lived family members dying was an issue, i think a caretaker who will die before him is ummmmm, not gonna be great for him.

also, she has some experience with ex-dungeon lords who have had their desires eaten (and if we wanna make this into a mirumisu situation where she asks mithrun's help with figuring out the best way to take care of thistle and then they fall in love? i won't complain)

Now…being a lone adventurer is difficult. Especially in your case. Not only are you prey to almost anything in the dungeon, but you’ve found yourself prey to its most apex predator—The Red Dragon.

Well, at least you think? Oddly enough…for a dragon, it’s very pretty. You don’t remember hearing about it having a human head and torso. With pretty blonde hair and golden eyes…Gods, she’s beautiful…

That’s what you’re thinking in the back of the mind while the Dragon pins you down with one hefty paw. It’s insane how large it is compared to you. One look to the side and you can see the large claw is longer than the length of your head. However, despite this position…it doesn’t hurt, per se. She has enough weigh on you to make you hesitant to breathe too deeply, but, she isn’t killing you….which is odd.

When you finally look to the dragon, you’re shocked to see her so close to your face.

“Not Delgal…” She whispers in a hoarse voice. You don’t know who that is, or why the Dragon or all creatures is looking for this person but…okay. As you brace yourself for what’s next, the Dragon grasps your face in her human ones. They’re soft and plush.

She brings her face to yours and licks a long stipe up it with her forked tongue, cleaning off some semi-dried blood of your companions. Her breath smells slightly coppery as she does so.

“Still good.” She nuzzles into your face, her feathers tickling your skin.

It's fucking weird. And you're not sure if you hate it or you love it. But hey...at least you're alive?

Since then, you've basically become the Dragon's little pet. She doesn't speak much, and you figure it must have something to do with her being some sort of chimera monstrosity, but she at least has the decency to introduce herself to you as Falin.

You also get confronted by Thistle...you thought the elf might help you. But no. He just sighs when he sees Falin drag you along with her. If it makes her happy, he's not arguing against it. Sorry. You're trapped.

But at least Falin is a good caretaker. She watches over you like a hawk. A big, scary, red dragony hawk. Even if you're just sitting around, enjoying the scenery...she just stares. with that disgustingly cute little smile of hers.

When the two of you travel together, she likes it when you ride on her back, but she also stores you in her thick plumage on the front of her body too. Her favorite is to carry you in her own human arms and walk around with you like you're some sort of stuffed animal. It's...kinda adorable. Maybe more cute if you weren't lowkey kidnapped.

If any adventurers dare harm you...it's over for them. You learned quickly to either look away or hide somewhere, because Falgon shows no mercy. As cute and sweet as she can be, she's equally deadly.

And you don't hide very far away...escaping is futile. Plus it becomes a fun game for her. It's literal cat and mouse. She can smell you. Sense you. It doesn't matter. She'll crush walls and buildings to get to you.

And if you run, it makes it worse. She'll catch you like a bug, her scaly front feet cage you in as she pounces on you. Then she just...dangles you and plays with you like a mouse.

She feels bad afterwards. It's hard for Falin to know her own strength in this form. She often accidentally scratches or bruises you. To make up for it, she'll sing a little lullaby and use her healing magic on you. It always lulls you into the most restful slumber you've had, no matter how much pain you're in or how scared you are.

After a little time, things do become oddly? Domestic?

Falin bathes you as often as possible. She likes to help get you clean as a bonding activity. She's really gentle and calm in these moments--the two of you just bathing in a nice dungeon waterfall or somewhere in the golden kingdom.

In return, you help her preen! You gently pick out pin feathers and brush off feather dust while she trills in happiness and coos at you. It's probably one of your favorite things to do as she just hums sweetly and lets you do it. She also likes it when you do her hair (adventurers are definitely left wondering why the Red Dragon has braids or double buns)

She also forages and hunts for you. Little berries? Snack for you! Is there a nice fruit tree on the floor you're exploring? She's hopping up there and picking you enough to eat all day.

Falin also uh. will hunt. After you scold her for dropping a giant monster carcass on you she learns not to do it again but hey? it was kinda funny. From then on she only brings you things she knows you can cook

And as typical...she has a nest. It's not anything crazy, but it's a cozy little thing made of foilage, her feathers, and other soft materials she found in the dungeon. When it's time to go to bed, she lets you lay down first and cuddles around you like a cat. Or she'll let you lay on her and cozy into her feathers. Her soft down feels like a cloud and you just sink in <3 it's adorable.

I dont think he'd be overtly fem or masc. Or wear anything to extreme in THEORY he'd be a scene / emo kid. (But those ourfits are too complex for him. He has a job.) Hed be basic as hell, ok?

Also based on UR hc ben. He'd have naturally dark eyes and hair, but they're dyed beyond belief. His poor curls. I think he'd try to take care of them. Emphasis on try.

Also, ipad baby, he plays roblox and minecraft. (That ipad case is broken beyond repair at this point, to be honest. One fart and it is DEAD.)

Andrew & tattoos

Been working on my redraw of Neil and Andrew from Pride 2021, and I've been inundated with thoughts of Andrew and tattoos.

(Including wonderful thoughts and ideas from people on the aftg big bang discord server)

Some of these will be more specific than others

Andrew gets a whole bunch of tattoos over the years. It's a reclamation of his body, and he likes the look of them, but that doesn't mean he ever gets truly comfortable in the chair. He can't be because there's someone he doesn't trust touching him and stabbing him repeatedly with needles for at least half an hour, but up to six at a time when he sits for bigger pieces. So every time he gets one, someone goes with him. Usually, it's Neil, both because that's who he trusts most and also the convenience of them living together for so long.

The two of them have a few matching tattoos. They have the key to the Columbia house with each other's initials on them. Neil's is over his heart, I'm less certain where Andrew's is. They have matching continuous single-line tattoos of the cats, and they each have roman numeral tattoos of the other's fox number.

In his fifth year, Andrew mentions that he'll be getting a Medusa tattoo. Aaron, who has been quietly researching ways to support SA survivors (which only Katelyn knows about), knows what a Medusa tattoo symbolizes and immediately offers to go with him. Andrew doesn't object and lets him come along. Because Andrew doesn't object to Aaron going to the session with him, neither does Neil, despite assuming he would go with Andrew. He still doesn't get along with Aaron, but he thinks Aaron going with Andrew will be good for them both. Before the session, Neil stops by to tell Aaron what Andrew's favorite tattoo session snacks/treats are and his favorite place to go afterward.

At some point, after he graduates from Palmetto, Andrew gets a tattoo in honor of Betsy. He tells Bee before he gets it, on one of their weekly phone calls and she offers to come with him. At the appointment, Bee surprises him by getting a matching tattoo with him. He gets forget-me-nots surrounded by a bee on his shoulder. She gets hers over her heart, and he gets his on his shoulder so she's always looking out for him. He holds her hand through the entirety of her time in the chair, and she talks to him through the entirety of his. They both quietly laugh at Andrew's choice of the forget-me-nots considering his memory. But if Besty notices that when they are colored they are also the same color as Neil's eyes, she keeps that observation to herself.
