I have fallen off track lately. I made a serious and overdue realization about myself and I allowed it to derail me for a bit. I have been #struggling with my food choices and habits for years. Like my whole adult life. I've done the #crashdiets, I've done the programs, I've done it all. Most recently I've been attempting #keto. Attempting is the focus word in that sentence. When I'm on it, it works. I found that the restriction actually helps me to stick with it.....until it doesn't. I've realized that no matter what plan I follow I am always going to play #mindgames with myself and rationalize poor choices. I need to get my relationship with food in a better place, I've got to live with it for the rest of my life. So I'm going to continue taking this to Jesus and I'm beginning the search for professional assistance. Back on track and feeling better. Let's talk about ups and downs for a sec..... We all experience them, some more than others. Lately I've been in a valley. Down and feeling defeated. I know how to recognize when I'm slipping into a 'funk' and I've learned how to work on pulling myself back up. I've been focusing on prayer, self care, fitness, getting my nutrition on point, and getting real and honest with myself and those around me. I truly believe in the power of community and I know how important my personal support system is to me. My struggle is talking to someone else about it because every time I convince myself that they don't want to hear it, that I'm just going to be a burden, and that they are dealing with their own stuff and don't need my issues added to theirs. Then I finally open up and I am reminded that those that care about me will always want to hear about my struggles, they will always make time to listen. So. It's ok not to be happy and perky all the time. It's normal to have ups and downs. It's not normal to stay down and wallow in the despair and loneliness you feel. Turn to someone you trust. Talk to God about it. Get out of bed and go through the motions. We are all slogging our way through life and sometimes we need to hold someone else's hand to be able to take the next step. Just reach out and take it. Day 1: began at 4am at #fumckissimmee. Is ending at #rockymountnc . The drive was smooth and fairly pleasant, for a 12 hour drive. We saw a #worldwar2 torpedo and a small cannon at the #FloridaGeorgialine and now we are surrounded by brick buildings and steeples. Gonna grab dinner and have an early night at the #fumcrockymount.
