Look who's ready for the #fumcwintergala! We received the tickets from some wonderful friends for Christmas and since @joshthetruckdriver isn't in town I'm taking my momma as my date! The gala is a fun raiser for the missions team. Ticket purchases as well as a silent auction and other activities all go to fund #fumckissimmee mission trips, domestic and international. This year they will be going to the #floridakeys to help rebuild from #hurricaneirma. Day 1: began at 4am at #fumckissimmee. Is ending at #rockymountnc . The drive was smooth and fairly pleasant, for a 12 hour drive. We saw a #worldwar2 torpedo and a small cannon at the #FloridaGeorgialine and now we are surrounded by brick buildings and steeples. Gonna grab dinner and have an early night at the #fumcrockymount. Thanks so much to Daniel, the youth leader here, for hosting us for the night. We got the pleasure of heading to the Pawsitive Action Foundation with our #fumckissimmee family for #niceserve14. This place is amazing! They breed, train, and provide assistance animals for #veterans, #firstresponders, and other worthy recipients. They operate on donations and provide their dogs at no cost so check out the website and donate if you are called to. . . The Lordling is loving on Rhetta (I hope I spelled it right) a Neoploitan Mastiff who is being trained for therapy. Today marks the beginning of the Lenten season. 40 days (excluding Sundays) of fasting, repentance, almsgiving, and prayer. We had a moving service this evening where I received ashes for the first time ever. And then I got to watch my Lordling receive ashes in the youth service. What a blessed evening, I am one humbled and pleased momma.
