#diy plush #i think i was overcomplicating the bodies. like. most basic plush body shape is fine. who gives a shit #also i am maybe regretting the felt for the head... you can see the wear on her already.#alfonse is holding up really well bc his felt was thicker. HUGE pain in the ass to work with #but it did end up making him super sturdy!#i have been thinking of going back and fixing sharena's head (you can see it's misshapen too)#but like. i actually have no idea where i'd start w that. aside from adjusting the shape beneath the head #but i have no idea how i'd fix the issue of her material without like. having to re-do her completely.#at their core these two really are fuck around and find out plushies. i'm learning the importance #of what material to pick and for what purpose.#unfortunately i am gonna do something different for alfonse's body too. the initial one i made #while super cute and i still love the back stitching. i need to readjust proportions #esp if i'm gonna be layering materials for clothes. over the past couple of years, my workplace has put increasing emphasis on addressing the needs of neurodivergent students in our classes, which is great, but i really wish my coworkers would stop using it as an excuse to try and armchair diagnose every child they find challenging or weird :/

#last year i had an assessment for a new student come with the comment ''does not make much eye contact. may be on the spectrum''#only for that kid to come to my class and show zero discomfort making eye contact with me or any of his peers #like girl i think he just didn't like you #it's fine if he's autistic but i don't think you should be trying to apply that label after knowing him for all of 15 minutes #in a situation where he's bound to be nervous anyway bc you're giving him a placement test #personal post

Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V TFSP Re-Translation Project (WIP): Jack Story Intro/Duel Lines Testing

Took some time since finalizing my GX 113-114 subs a couple weeks ago to get re-translation work done on the former KING's story and his in-duel lines, while also getting some work started on GX 115-116 on the side; I wrapped up with his story and duel lines yesterday and am now testing line fits for both, and once I'm satisfied with 'em, I'll be working on his bio before I go back to working on GX 115-116 fully to get those handled in the next couple weeks. And as an update, I thought I'd show off his intro as well as some casual playtesting of his in-duel lines, as well as a peek at Yusei's (though unfortunately he didn't get to go into Stardust or Shooting Star as he did in another test duel lol). The in-duel anime OST was edited in by me, and I quite like how it came out!

Also, am amused at how the original translation guy seemed to logically borrow Jack's in-duel lines from TF5 for the most part, yet still ended up taking *ahem* liberties in a couple spots though imagining Takanori Hoshino saying "don't fuck with my strategy" is v funny (left is that, right is my re-translation):

Ahh im pretty happy with my french imrovement. Its getting to the point where I can watch movies in french (although mostly kids movies) in french and FORGETTING that I am. I reached 52% fluency mark on busuu the other day and although its not acurate its still cool to have a marker of improvement ^_^

Heres when i got the 50% (not accurate lol)

#plus the guys in the discord keep being really sweet about my french #love em #the busuu marker is just based on how far along the course i am #however since i passed the placement test it means that i missed the first section of the course #so im having to go back and redo lessons on like. these are the days of the week and here is a tense u missed or whatever #but its a nice break #busuu is. really hard at times #langblr
