your origin story is so relatable i love it. as someone was too young to watch the original trilogy when it came out and didn't watch many cartoons or comics/superhero stuff growing up, by the time I got interested the MCU really seemed like the only worthwhile option around at first. and tbh I do commend marvel for making the avengers so fun to get into via the movies (even if the mcu doth get too much after a bit) because the more you learn about comics the more you realise that they're not the most compelling team (affectionate) in the first place so really good job. but anyway yeah had drifted into dc for a good few years and then I was shown the deadpool 3 credits (not the movie) and despite having no knowledge of the x-men, the backstage bloopers, the music and the beach divorce just really awakened something in me

#Alright I got tragically interrupted while watching it but I'm finally finished watching the episode!!#It's really really good both the animation and drawings are very detailed compared to the rest of the anime but...#The pace is so off :((( Like it's not the end of the world but ugh. It's unfortunate...#So many things just don't hit off as deeply because everything is moving so fast all the time and there's no time to process anything.#They won't allow you one second for the last line of a scene to sink in that the next scene's ost is already playing.#And like it's not even the worst crime an anime can commit I guess but still...#I wish they didn't. Like rather than make a 13 episodes season and squeeze the Sky Casino arc in merely two episodes it would have been–#a lot better to finish the season at the previous episode and make 12 episodes out of everything (so that everything could be better paced)#Like yeah maybe it's not the best season ending that there can be but... It's not terrible either‚ you have Atsushi saying the line–#“there's still hope” and the season ending there‚ that's pretty cool #I don't know why everyone feels like they have to rush all the time.#Guys do I have to be the one to remind you you make more money if more season come out.#Like how can the knowledge of Sigma being made by the book have any kind of impact when we've only known him for ten minutes.#Teruko's looking mad AND looking cutesy AND blowing up the landing zone didn't have the same comedic effect they did in the manga because..#It just happened all together! I'm not an Angel hater by any means however I do think Spike should get to be as big of a dick to him as he wants to be and people shouldn't get to say shit about it.

#dylan says things #btvs #this is maybe entirely a me thing but often when im reading fanfic it acts like spike and angel fighting (specifically about buffy)#is equally shitty from both of them #but like tbh spike has way more reason to hate angel than angel has to hate spike #and it's always framed as just a 'spike shouldnt get jealous' thing which is generally fair #but also Spike spent 100 years loving a woman who loved angel more than she loved him #and then SO much of his relationship with buffy is tangled up with how she feels about Angel #Spike is CONSTANTLY being compared to Angel and he pretty much always gets the short end of that stick #like shit man I would also be really insecure about that #and i wouldnt have a problem when fics call him on being jealous over buffy and angel #but they never seem to actually address the baggage that is making him act that way #and even in fics where it's like 'they're so good at communication now' they never have spike express that there may actually be #some shit between him and angel that is valid for him to feel #not even getting into spikes relationship to angel outside of Buffy which is its own can of worms #anyways. this is just a wildly specific pet peeve of mine #it's 4am and i was reading a fanfic and for some reason this pissed me off more than usual

#man ive never seen an eating disorder kill someone else besides a parent infecting a child but my nana is really trying #shes like 1000% orthotexic. will not eat anything not filled with vegetables or fat. and my grandpa is 87yo with a heart condition currentl #in the hospital for covid bc thry went to Christmas church and dont believe in being vaccinated and my dad is so frustrated #bc he knows his mom is not gonna give his dad hearty foods. he needs to eat like protein shakes and meat and ice cream. anything thats not #her cooking which sucks on top of being extremely healthy. except its not healthy bc they dont eat a balanced diet #so its my nanas eating disorder killing her husband and shes so fucking frustrating. im like 99% sure she has obsessive compulsive #personally disorder bc she fits to a T and has zero insight. she may have full on 0cd bc talking to my dad he has more obvious 0cd #compulsions than i do. he used to say phrases before going to bed and would take 2 steps across the floor to prevent bad things from #happening. so like im pretty sure my nana is where i get my perfectionism and 0cd. god. i wish i could express how fucked up she is #like my dad said at least he had a stable home to grow up in but like she has zero sympathy for other people. cannot look past herself. wil #not wear a mask bc she doesnt care enough abt other ppl. my dad was like: u would not have survived in that house. which is fair bc i am #barely keeping it together coming from a stable home with two sympathetic parents who i know love me #and like its sad that they're suffering the effects of buying into the fox news bullshit and its killing them #but also. genuinely. i think theyre not very good ppl. theyre the type of people who think they're better bc they're religious. white. and #thin. and theyre not better thsn anyone. their grandchildren cant stand them. well cant stand her at least. papa is just quite so its hard #to say what hes thinking. apparently he was confused last night and saying something about eating dinner on the golf course. which sounds #nicer thsn being in the hospital lol. ugh. he seems not long for this world tbh. may he pass peacefully to b with his 1st wife who died of #brain cancer at age like 20 or something. so it goes. bleh. how many funerals are intended for me in the next 5 years? hopefully none but #that seems improbable with the unspoken drain circling that seems to b going on in this family. old age and like almost 10 years of cancer #defying the stats but for how much longer?#i dunno. its just so weird to watch these things happen and not talk about it directly to the other ppl who see it #i worry that ill come off as too callose or inappropriate bc i have that tendency when something bad is happening but thats everyone else #excuse? idk i just feel like its better to talk abt things #unrelated #ed mention #i tell u this so i can say these things to someone and also bc if i were u. i would like to hear the drama #bc im nosey and i assume other r too ;-]

#red said #HEY FRIENDS BAD NEWS. it's a COVID!!!!#over the last 2 years the chat has been named #plague house #unplague house #replague house #un-replague house #re-replague house #un-re-replague house #and now this #that's Aimee's COVID then me and Sam then Aimee again now me again #we name it unplague celebratorily whenever we're done quarantining #this may seem like a lot of cases of COVID but in fairness #a) 3 of them occurred during the period where Aimee was working at the test centre. although i don't think that's what caused me and Sam's #cause my colleague in the borders went down the same time as me a few days after we met up down there #so i think we both got it at that cafe #and also b) 2 of them happened after people largely stopped testing regularly so all I'm saying is.#i don't think we've had it more than most but i do think between the 3 of us we've stayed pretty good at testing #and we keep track in the chat cause we quarantine separately and thus far have never dealt with a situation where all of us have COVID

rereading IDW sonic is giving me a better picture of just how skewed tangle’s recent characterization is :(

i know continuity marches on and all but man. tangle is the only one getting THIS bent out of shape all the time and it sucks. she’s the everyman (she really shouldn’t be) and keeps getting mistaken for a different character trope by each new arc’s writers

#like. it’s complicated because unlike other comics i read (mostly webcomics - like gunnerkrigg and pnat)#idw is written a handful at a time and has no singular overarching plot or drive. they HAVE to be a little more episodic #plus they broke into new territory starting out so early installment weirdness and all applies #but they DID hit a good groove with tangle and then they walked it back!!! why??#mostly i want to point out that tangle’s characterization HAS objectively changed whether you like one or the other more #i think it goes along with tangle being portrayed with the most variation between different art styles in IDW next to maybe rough the skunk #like whisper gets to be pretty close to her design whoever’s drawing her but tangle is just all over the place and #it’s at the same time very fun and interesting and i don’t mind it but also #very much works with how tangle’s being written at the time which varies almost just as much #if you say you’re a tangle fan unfortunately you will not be a fan of the same tangle as every tangle fan #this happens with sonic and tails and mainline characters because they have YEARS of whole media + games #done across decades and different writers so it makes sense they’ve got lots of subtle permutations #tangle has been around 6 years now and is already catching up on that across all 6 of those years #we hardly knew her :’c #intentionally not tagging a whole phrase but if this shows up in search anyways due to tumblr-#-please me respectful + i dont mind hearing your opinions or contradictions + i may not change my mind even if u have a good point cause-#-personal preference. ya. if i just like tangle better a certain way thats how i like to see and write her. <3

Wrote a lot, touched up a VN manuscript from a while ago, worked on character sprites, felt good - got really bad news about a family member, now I’m also stressed over an important exam in three weeks, but I’m getting better slowly. I’ve been able to write more often and consistently, just a little tired and feeling a little funny, meds are working slowly but they’re doing their job stabilizing me - gonna have to spend my time between studying and writing as well as not over-stressing since it’s starting to have physical effects on my health again but I’m doing better ^_^

#my thoughts #seriously the timing of that compliment could not have been more perfect #I didn’t want to go into the store because I felt like a hot mess #we had camped the night before and I hadn’t brushed my hair because I accidentally packed up all the brush before I did it #and I was in my comfy clothes because we had a long car ride ahead of us #so I was feeling self conscious and to get a compliment of such high status hit me hard #it wasn’t that my shirt looked good or anything it was just saying that I myself was pretty #and in such a raw state of myself it made me feel so good #and she was so pretty too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#so yeah if you were a Starbucks barista in Albertsons in Taos New Mexico end of may/beginning of June last year and complimented #a random stranger just know that it is probably my favorite compliment I have ever received and thinking on it makes me happy
