I dunno if this was said before but I genuinely love the inclusion of objectum stuff in nightwatch even if it's just little tidbits and whatnot, it's very . I dunno the right word, heartwarming ? either way it's so nice. Nightwatch is so awesome

I projected my autism too much as I feel a stronger connection to objects then people a lot of the time. I mean Doctor blue is very gay for computers, mostly due to his autism cause it’s his special interest. The amount of portal, electric dreams, ihnmaims, space odessy etc references I shoved into that guy is ridiculous. Huge nerd. And with Psych loving his gun- it’s more so in a self destructive way but he is very attached to it, the guy doesn’t have many friends.

Thank you for the compliment! Most representation in nightwatch is around disability+mental health- and for me at least my experience with objectum is a part of my autism. And I explore that with blue boy and psych to some degree

I need someone or something somewhere to have a character that’s a turtle and also an artist, because in Python there’s a library called “turtle” that lets you draw, and I NEED this knowledge to be validated in some way

And I don’t want it to be a coincidence (like what Michelangelo probably has in ROTTMNT/they’re named after artists), I want it to be an intentional reference to that fact

between my computer deciding to rebel, and work, and life, and I feel like I have a perpetual minor cold with that kinda slightly stuffy feel and that taste in the back of my throat,

#the computer one is pissibg me off particularly because i Just built this shit two years ago #then i do a driver update a couple of weeks ago and start noticing that now if i game and watch a stream at the same time #some windows process starts choking the fucking life out of my CPU after a couple of hours #and after following a chain of looking shit up i get to ghe event viewer #and there's just a nonstop parade of errors for typically one or two things #at this point i drag my dad in because im out of my depth #i do some more shit. i update and reflash the bios. i check drivers 500 times. i reformat the drive and reinstall windows from scratch.#even if it seems okay for a bit it eventually starts shitting out errors again.#they are either about DeviceGuard or complaining about the network #i look up some more things! i find some references but they tell me to turn off or on some things that are already enabled or disabled.#we begin thinking theres something wrong with the network part of the motherboard #i have an adapter we grabbed from work to try when i get home.#if that doesnt work then i am buying a new motherboard cpu memory and cpu cooler #because if im going to have to fucking replace shit then i might as well upgrade #part of me wants to keep the old stuff and set up a new computer and try troubleshooting because puzzle. and i hate not knowing WHAT PART #SPECIFICALLY is fucked #bro i am so TIRED #i JUST did the math a few weeks ago and was like YES if i live on ramen for a few pay cycles i will pay off my credit card and start saving #to put toward my student loans when those start up again. and my computer went 'lol thats cute'#like i am deathly afraid that i will replace all this shit and it'll STILL have this issue #like. it's useable. i could live with it. but it's clearly not normal behavior and that's what bothers me. something is clearly wrong.#not to sound old but remember when shit just fuckin worked #like i sat there for 5 hours yesterday trying different shit. finally thought i had fixed something. go to bed. wake up.#STREAM OF ERRORS for the network thing again every few minutes while i was asleep.#what are you DOING. what is WRONG WITH YOU.#my dad is looking over my shoulder at the event viewer like 'that looks like a SQL statement but why is it failing etc etc'#EXCELLENT QUESTION AND I ONLY UNDERSTOOD THREE OF THOSE WORDS! why is my computer sick!!#no it's not a virus. i promise. i was raised better than that #it FEELS like something fundamentally broke. it feels like a hardware thing. but how. what fucking demons did microsoft summon #in a driver update. that went into my computer and physically broke my shit

this fucking course is such bullshit the damn online test thing just tested me for an entirely different topic (that i was unable to access), nitpicked my wording for no reason (i entered "safety/cut resistant gloves". the 'correct' answer? "gloves". ffs.), and marked me as wrong on one question bc whoever built the shitty 3d section of the test made the mistake THAT THE TEST IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING US NOT TO MAKE. IN A 3D MODEL NOT EVEN A REAL BUILDING CHRIST ON A STICK. the human instructor is fucking amazing but this new online-based curriculum is shitty and half-assed as fuck.

#i am minorly disappointed i didn't do this before this year but SUPER glad i didn't leave it any later #the impression i get is that they're trying to semi-automate the course to be Hip and With It and also cut back on staffing costs maybe #but the people doing it don't have any fucking clue what they're doing when it comes to computer systems #so half of it's broken and they're like outsourcing a bunch of it to fucking youtube instructables i wish i was joking here #and you have to enroll in each topic individually but some topics reference others so if you have one but not the other you're fucked #and you can't just enroll in all of them the instructor has to open enrolment individually & give you the password for that window #this is a trade we're studying for btw it's hands on stuff that should be taught by humans who you can ask questions #and i'm super lucky that my instructor is actually good at his job but oh my god #the secondhand shame in this man's eyes every time something stupid breaks on the website. heartbreaking.
