Please make a part two of the Henry x male reader😔

Henry looks at his plate of beans, unwilling to eat more than usual. The scene replays in his head over and over again. His face was too pretty for a boy telling him he was cute. His truthful eyes look at him like he truly thinks someone like him could even be something nearly too cute. Henry got his gaze up from the plate to see his reflection in the dirty microwave door. He didn't feel cute. His nose was weird, his hair was always flat, he always looks dirty, and the bruises all over his body make him look like a weak little paperman. No, he wasn't cute. And Y/N was mocking him when he said so. Even if he wishes he wasn't. The scene replayed one more time in his head, the way he always looks at him in a way it makes him nervous, his gaze so soft while looking at him, Henry felt like a piece of art when Y/N looked at him like that. The first time he caught Y/N's gaze, he felt butterflies in his stomach and couldn't look into his eyes for more than 5 seconds. But finally, the curious and constant look of Y / N made him think too much that he was looking at him. Of course, someone like him wasn't looking at him with amazement, love, or anything he had told himself at first. No, he was looking at him with pity. Henry felt overwhelmed, too conscious of his bruises, of his clothes, of everything that clearly made him look like the poor, weak, white trash he was. Anger rises through his body quickly with the feeling of being humiliated. When he got even closer to Y/N to make him explain why she was looking at him. Henry's heart sped up, a rare mix of anger and joy. "Why do you see me?" he spat with anger and nerves. "You're cute." Y/N responded as if it were the truth. Henry didn't remember exactly how he had hit him, but he did remember how he felt his face turn red and how his heart beat hours and days after just remembering it. He was screwed. He had a crush on a boy. With Y/N. This was wrong.

And despite it. He couldn't wait to go back to class and see him.

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.

That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.

That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.

That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.

That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.

That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.

That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.

None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.

I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.

If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.

To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

i think one of the coolest things about dan howell is the example he sets of how your life isn’t over at 25, and one person won’t fix your life but you still can. dan met his actual soulmate at 18 and is only now, in his 30s, finding true and genuine happiness and fulfillment. meeting phil didn’t automatically solve all his problems, although he was clearly a significant part of the motivation to bother doing the work at all. but dan still put in the work himself for YEARS to improve himself and his life and it WORKED. your life isn’t over if you aren’t completely happy and fulfilled and the person you wish you could be in your 20s. putting in the work takes time but it is WORTH IT.
