#this song is so out-of-character for the entire franchise but that just makes it even more impactful

"yuri lowell is a manly heterosexual"
yuri lowell:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#DCB Comments#keeping this off my tales blog/out of tags bc i know the heteronormatives will come for me LOL#with their heteronormative v3speria dub (yes the dub actually altered/watered down#his relationship with a man probably bc it was too undertoney for them and western media is allergic to that)#not pictured in this post: the way yuri is used in official artwork with other tales characters#and is often surrounded by men. or the comic of him admitting he's popular with guys#also not pictured: the way yuri's alts for gacha games often feature flynn's color coding#and/or both of their color coding mixed into his outfit or accessories#also not pictured: the way yuri's wedding outfit alt is flynn color coded#also not pictured: the way yuri's bouquet in the other picture of his first outfit on this post#is almost identical to flynn's ''joke weapon'' bouquet of roses in the game#also not pictured: the entire gacha game of rays (that's based off respective game canon). i can't explain that to you in just tags#also yes yuri has a metal corset in that fourth picture. i don't... know many men who wear a corset#and the only other one i know in this franchise is in fact also the other main m/m pairing in the franchise#i also don't know many manly straight men who the character designers dress and style like this#i just want you all to know. if you're looking for a non heteronormative man. yuri has you covered#just maybe not so much in the dub just ignore that LOL. also worth mentioning that#japan gets a L O T of extra yuri material thanks to gachas merch and other official side material#everything in this post is official artwork and the last one is from this year#it's merch up for pre-order for t@lfes so yes they're still playing with his hair LOL#and yes if you ever pick up his game i am here to advertise to you not to play the dub (even tho the text will still sometimes be wrong...)#i am in fact writing giant lengthy posts abt it on my tales blog so i will not explain to you here in these tags#but the dub sapped yuri of so much emotion to make him seem cool and edgy and more of a troll#instead of playful fun and silly and just a dork but who is emotional when it matters#woe is them to let yuri's voice shake with heartbreak when he's worried abt a man!#i bet the localizers didn't even realize the entire opening theme song was abt yuri and another man and their relationship#maybe one day i'll make a fun post with all of flynn's color coding slapped all over yuri#also i BET there's someone out there who will see this and be like ''she's reaching''#yeah i guess the official gacha game is reaching then too with how it treats yuri and flynn the same as the franchise's canon het pairs

And of course Super Paper Mario and 4. Convince me to give this game another try perhaps :]
4. …why you should choose to check out the world of this story and choose three gifs that should underline my point.
NOTE: i will be forgoing the GIF part and using pictures instead because every single GIF search result has been clogged up with mouth-breathers on the internet who have been arguing over whether SPM is good or bad and have been doing it in GIF form for years. don't believe me? search "super paper mario" on discord's gif search. you'll see it. you always see it.
oh jesus. see the thing about liking super paper mario is that there's a lot of SPM fans out there who really like the game but can't really connect a very important dot as to Why they like the game. (HINT: THEY PLAYED IT WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG AND ARE NOSTALGIC FOR IT SO THE FLAWS IT HAS IS WAY LESS FOR THEM, AND BY PROXY, ME.) IM self aware. i will never be able to hate the game, but i am incredibly aware that the gameplay can be fairly lacking sometimes. if the story doesnt already grip you, it probably wont ever be worth it to go through the gameplay. thats my bit. thats my piece.
(but then youll have people who see how SPM defenders dont like to critique it when it deserves to be critiqued and start going after stuff like "oh the story isnt even that good"? MAN WHY DID YOU BRING THE STORY INTO THIS.)
but i digress. the life of a paper mario fan is a long and hard one.
POINT THE FIRST. MARIO'S "EXPERIMENTAL" ERA.
you can argue that ttyd also fits this bill, and i think it does, but this is about SPM so im focusing on that. if the mario series has never really Gripped you or you havent really been a lifelong fan, i always think the gamecube-wii era of mario has been one of its more interesting moments. the switch renaissance has allowed a breath of creativity to come back into mario, and mario's allowed to be Weird again, but gamecube-wii mario is weird in a really SCUFFED way and i love it. the gamecube's flagship mario game was a LUIGI game where he cant even jump. super paper mario came out before mario galaxy or NSMBwii. that was our mario rep on the wii for a while. mario games get a little crazy, a little weird here. and so what you get is a more melancholic story about the end of all worlds, and exploring what it really means to be a hero, and the closest many games will get to acknowledging that the mario characters can have emotions that arent Perfect. its just such a fascinating era for such a perfectly-marketable franchise and i adore it. it's a testament to what mario can Be, for me. Mario Is Weird. say it with me now!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
POINT THE SECOND. GOODBYE TO A WORLD.
i just really like the theme of All Worlds Coming To An End. usually in these sort of things, it's "save the world so the world doesnt end!" but in this game, it really feels like "the world is ending and you have to fight even to have a chance to succeed". it colours the tone of the game in such a fantastic way. many songs in the OST have a ticking clock in them. the inescapable void is even in the hub world. it's like the majora's mask of paper mario. many people talk this up but the fact that in chapter 6, you're beholden to the traditions of a silly king who REFUSES to believe the world is ending even when HIS ENTIRE SKY IS PURPLE, and youre trying so hard to beat this 100-man duel faster and faster, only for the world to end and then youre forced to go back into the chapter and see this GRAVEYARD. it makes it so much more tangible. THIS is what will happen if you fail. and this overhanging melancholy paints the themes of love so much stronger. it's not just a love story, it's a love story in adversity. love conquers all, but what is the "all" in question? well, this. bleakness. sometimes the bleakness is part of the love. sometimes you make a sacrifice in the name of love, and nobody likes it, but you know it must be. the whole game is actually a love story between bleck and tippi and it just grips me so. it's such a multi-faceted depiction of love and loss that it feels so much more real to me, that love isn't always the Magical Solution. love is a sword, a shield, a prayer, a wish, a curse, a blessing, an order, an act of cowardice, an act of bravery, a sacrifice.
(you see what i mean? i can literally only be talking like this because i grew up with this stupid ass game)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
POINT THE THIRD. FUCK ALL THAT THOUGH LET'S TALK ABOUT THE BLECK MINIONS.
so, the whole kind of crux of this game is that it's a love story between bleck, the main antagonist, and tippi, your companion, right. if you can't flesh both of them out you're in a bad way. obviously for tippi, she's hanging around you all the time, and you get to hear her journey play out throughout the entire game. BUT WHAT OF BLECK? HE'S HIDING IN HIS CASTLE! how are we supposed to know more about him and learn his story if he is IN HIS CASTLE? well that's why after every chapter, there's this interlude where we CHECK UP ON THE BAD GUYS.
i blame this game entirely for my love of villains. this gang of baddies has so much quirks and personality that i find it hard NOT to love them. they're not just gormless minions of the count- each shows their own personality in their relationship with him. mimi has a puppy-love crush on him, o'chunks has a sort of warrior's bond with him, nastasia pledges herself to him and almost uses the minions she controls as a conduit for her dedication to him, dimentio is like a cat in a bird store, and mr l clearly isnt supposed to be here but i dont think he knows that. the minions bicker amongst themselves but clearly have a bond of cameraderie because it all feels like teasing of people who've known each other for a long time.
you fight each minion at least twice, and even though the lackluster gameplay kinda comes in full force again, you get to see so much PERSONALITY in these guys. mimi is super-bratty but seems to know most people would see her as a monster so leans into it, dimentio is playful and jovial while also having his own motives, o'chunks is bold and brash but asks you to finish him off the second time he fails, mr. l is cocky to a fault and reeks of insecurity. i just love having these guys we can always check up on. it's like lord crump but MOOOOORE.
and through a combo of you inferring things about these people and some of the Deeper Lore (flopside bar stories), you kinda come to learn that these minions were kinda manipulated by bleck when they were at their lowest. mimi is a failed creation of SOMETHING. o'chunks' men all died because there was a traitor in his midst. nastasia was saved from a cage by bleck. and the more you learn about bleck the more you see that he is a man grieving the woman he loved, apathetically trying to end all worlds so the pain would end. he lies to the minion, he says he aims to make perfect new worlds, and they believe him, and they love him, because he saved them.
this sort of birth of a relationship through bleck's pain and manipulation comes through by the end, as the love the minions have for bleck is a KEY part of the final act. and idk it's a bunch of deeply-hurting misfits binding together and accidentally finding love in a world they found loveless. i think thats really cool. i think THEYRE really cool. such an awesome cast of villains.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but yknow. again. this is my childhood game. the special feeling i have for it can't really just be put into words. it's my diamond in the rough and nothing can really change that. it's Home.

Quick Wicked Part 1 Thoughts
Wicked (and Oz as a whole franchise) has impacted me probably the most, the songs are part of my blood, sweat, and tears as they helped me through emotionally painful chapters in my life
So the movie had a lot to live up to in my tiny little smooth brain, so here we go (SPOILERS! FOR THE MOVIE! AND WICKED AS A WHOLE!!!)
Tumblr media
Keeping these bulleted as that's what I like best!
Part 1 is the entirety of Act 1 from the show, which they paced WONDERFULLY keeping every song and not cutting anything for length. You'd think this would make it feel long, in fact is was one of the best paced films I've seen all year, thank you Winnie Holzman for coming back and adapting it for the screen <3
I am in no way surprised it's a hit, as Act 1 has some of the best crowd pleasers in the entire show. Act 2 is where it starts to get...unique. And I can see it creating split opinions, but that depends as well how much they keep vs change for a movie
Ariana and Cynthia proved me wrong and surpassed all expectations. Wicked is a show I hold on such a high pedestal I really never had a fan cast in mind, but both charmed me to the point of tears. The comedy timing, the growth, everything from them felt so natural and genuine
Jonathan Bailey, the man that you are! Amazing how a movie actually improved on a character/relationship dynamic (Fiyero with both Elphaba and Glinda).
Tumblr media
As whole the ENTIRE cast, from our leads to the supporting and background characters, understood the whole assignment.
To get some things I don't like out of the way: Michelle Yeoh...I have no idea why they went with the direction they gave you but it just didn't work. She has the look, her singing even was workable considering Morrible really only has two songs the entire show with prominent moments (though I wonder if Part 2 will give her one more...we'll see)
And like everyone else I was bothered by the lighting choices, such a shame as it distracted some of the beautifully radiant costumes and sets. At this point we just have to accept this is what they wanted for the films and Part 2 will be more of the same
Song wise, the stand-outs to me were 'No One Mourns the Wicked', 'What is this Feeling?', "Dancing Through Life', 'Popular', and 'Defying Gravity'. That isn't to say the remaining songs are awful, far from it. But those being the 5 standouts I think makes the most sense to grab out attention back
Can I just say, 'The Wizard and I' made me feel like I was in my room singing and reenacting it at age 12 all over again <3
If I had to pick a song I was a little disappointed on, 'I'm Not That Girl' felt a little too filler despite being a big fave of mine (though shout out to Jonathan Bailey with his subtle performance during this whole sequence)
I would still watch this movie over and over again, because it gave us a one of kinds experience from the stage while still respecting and understanding the source material. I'm so happy to exist in the timeline where we have Wicked <3

what we know: The Acolyte was pitched sometime in early 2020. The Rise of Skywalker had just ended the movie saga. The Mandalorian, which kicked off disney+, had just finished its first season with great audience response. Lucasfilm was reorienting itself to streaming. Rayne Roberts loved the pitch, got Kathleen Kennedy who also loved it, and the show was greenlit.
the show premiered in summer 2024, after a generous marketing campaign (including a clip shown with The Phantom Menace rerelease, an original Victoria Monét song, and plenty of trailers and tv spots). multiple pieces of tie-in media were announced both before and during the show's airing (an Acolyte comic issue, a Kelnacca comic issue, a visual guide, an art reference book, two novels featurig show characters).
the high republic multimedia project (THR), in advanced development when the show was pitched and published continuously from early 2021, greatly influenced the show's development. the costuming is largely based on the look of THR, the show makes plenty of lore references, and includes a main character from the books in its main cast. THR material coming out in summer 2024 has "a century before The Acolyte" prominently on the cover, the upcoming show tie-ins are largely written by THR authors, and often feature other THR characters.
the show was expensive, with a long production period and a great focus on the technical aspects - building large elaborate sets, filming on location in Madeira, detailed stunt sequences with a lot of actor involvement, plenty of attention given to costumes, make-up and creature design. the cast included many high-profile actors. everything suggests the show had full confidence of lucasfilm.
what i'm gonna speculate: lucasfilm was playing the long game with this show, or hoping to. cancelling the show this early was unexpected.
in 2019 star wars was quite literally centered on the original trilogy. the seven decades or so around the OT contained all currently canon star wars media, even as the franchise was spoken of as one with 25,000 years of history. the following years would plug up even more empty spots on the timeline, with the projects often overlapping. this gave the writers much less creative freedom, which was the whole point of decanonizing all pre-2014 media aside from films and shows. over time, fans started clamoring for onscreen content set outside of the known eras, and there were more and more voices in and outside of the fandom exhausted with fanservice (the glup shitto phenomenon).
The Acolyte was set in a whole new era, as far as onscreen content goes, and its only legacy character was from children's and YA books most viewers wouldn't be familiar with. it was specifically introduced as a show you wouldn't need any homework for. it had actors prominent in entirely different contexts (Matrix. sitcom. Squid Game. YA. superhero movies. independent films. relationship dramas.) and the cast was pretty international.
the show had a lot specifically for established fans - you could say it was the most wide-reaching in its star wars references, incorporating elements from every trilogy, the animated shows, canon books, oldschool legends lore, video games. but i believe it was mostly meant to attract people who were not previously fans, and especially target demographics that were underrepresented in the fandom. draw in international audiences, young people who were around for other star wars properties but they never caught their interest, women who either weren't in the fandom or felt pushed away by the reaction to The Last Jedi.
lucasfilm execs definitely weren't planning for viewing numbers comparable to Obi-Wan Kenobi, or even Ahsoka, since those are characters people are already invested in. i think lucasfilm expected the show's audience to grow over a longer period, since plenty of people might check it out because it seems cool and they like an actor in it, and hopefully stick around to watch other star wars and become new fans of the franchise. the audience would get a chance to establish itself through new viewers watching it outside the couple weeks when it aired originally - it's a streaming platform, after all - and the show would have a solid fandom for its second season (which they were clearly planning to make).
these new fans would keep disney+ in order to check out other star wars shows and film, and keep buying star wars stuff over the hiatus. even if they were only into The Acolyte and their interest never expanded beyond that, there were many merchandising products and tie-in materials coming out. the comics and books would have connections to THR, hopefully getting an influx of readers before the initiative finishes next year and boosting sales of already published works. the THR readers who weren't interested in the show originally would see all their favorite authors writing stuff for it and check it out, too.
but then someone higher up decided to cancel it a month after airing so no i guess

Debunking misinformation about Netflix's The Witcher (Part 6)
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4] [Part 5] [Part 6] [Part 7]
"Henry Cavill is the only one out of the cast and crew that knows anything about the source material and cares about it."
Joey Batey has read the books more times than Henry Cavill has. (3 times as of 2023 vs once in 2018.)
Tumblr media
Henry Cavill himself has basically admitted that he wouldn't want to go up against Joey when it comes to knowledge of the books and both Freya Allan and Kim Bodnia have praised Joey for how knowledgeable he is and that he could "give Henry a run for his money."
youtube
Henry Cavill also hadn't even read the books and had likely only ever really played TW3 (and not even the DLC for it) when he first met with Lauren and, given that he thought that the books were based off the games, it's likely that he never bothered to google or wiki or research the franchise in any way (despite proclaiming himself to be a lore buff) as surely he would've found out that the games were actually based off the books if he had (or, y'know, if he had just been paying attention to the game credits as the books are the first thing in the credits.) Yet despite all of that, he's said this:
"I didn't even have the need to prepare myself for the role. Because I breathe, I live this universe every day. I already got numerous opportunities to think about this character while I was playing the games. My preparation was already made before the casting started!"
Meanwhile Therica Wilson-Read had played the games, she set out to read the books as soon as she had the opportunity to audition, she goes back and reads bits of the books if not the full series before each season, and she even goes on the wiki and watches youtube videos to refresh herself on the universe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Therica's book collection (with color coded notes!), btw:
Tumblr media
Mecia Simson also jumped straight into the books and read them all as soon as she was cast and will go on the wiki to research things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cassie Clare on her preparation as Philippa.
Tumblr media
Btw, Joey had less than 24 hours to prepare for his audition and in that time he memorized 2-3 scenes, wrote an entire song, and showed up in costume to audition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Therica is also so knowledgeable about the books and the franchise that MyAnna Buring will go to her for advice on her character and understanding what's happening when she needs things explained to her.
youtube
Mahesh Jadu also went to Joey for advice on his character when he was first cast because Joey's known to be so knowledgeable about the books.
youtube
Joey's also the one who's gotten book scenes and characters written into the show, btw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Freya talking about getting things from the books into the show, too:
Tumblr media
Anya talking about book moments she's a fan of:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also Anya making a book reference to BoF:
Tumblr media
Joey making a book reference to what a diary by Jaskier would look like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lauren's talked about her hiring process for the writers which obviously includes having read the books.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tomek Baginski, who worked on all three games btw, has talked about growing up with the books as a teenager in Poland.
Tumblr media
There's loads more examples than this, but this argument is quite obviously complete and utter bullshit anyway and I don't really want to look up every little example proving that, so. I'll just let the post end on this note:

Why I Ship Sonic The Hedgehog and Amy Rose?
Hi! I’ve been a Sonic fan since 2022 and wanted to give insight on a beloved pairing from someone who’s only FRESH in this fandom. So I could give a somewhat recent perspective on something others might’ve grown up with.
Disclaimer: This is just my merriment of cartoon madness. Done for fun. It has my everywhere all at once speculations, and opinions. Spat into one big MESS. No problem if you disagree. I wish you all the best in whatever you create with your preferred take on these characters.
I take 0 credit for anything displayed in visuals.
Now, let’s get started!
Reason 1: What Got Me Into Sonamy
I want to recommend people who not only helped me understand the dynamic better, but did so while giving good insight on Amy’s character. Which is one of the most inconsistent in the ENTIRE franchise. Here they are! In no particular order.
Why Amy is a “Strong Female Character” [Sonic The Hedgehog Video Essay]
Channel: Taro Marshmallow on YouTube.
She helped me understand Amy’s character as a whole. I believe it’s important for people to comprehend Amy’s character in order for them to understand or like Sonamy. No one has to, but it sure was eye-opening for me. So, do of it what you will. I advise people to give it a watch for the AMAZING character analysis alone.
Molinaskies: On Tumblr, this person goes into serious analysis on Sonic’s emotional characterization, and Sonamy too. Words can’t describe how much I appreciate this ship the more I read about their dynamic from someone I can tell has fun doing it.
Sherrydoodlez: This person is the reason I became a Sonic and Sonamy fan at the same time. Once I saw her videos, I was HOOKED. She makes cute, fun, and outstanding Sonamy content on her YouTube channel. It’s mostly Boom!Sonamy animations with voice actors on some occasions. She makes other random Sonic animations as well. It’s a feel good channel you can watch to calm yourself as you head into a romantic cafe of servings you never knew you needed. Give her content a watch. It’s a jolly ride.
Tumblr media
IDW (Specifically Issue #2 Page 21): I believe this is the statement which changed Sonic’s view about Amy. At the beginning, the blue blur was still on the run when Amy came around. But after fighting robots together and helping the villagers, Sonic admitted having fun. It could mean he grew more comfortable. Or just loves to fight robots regardless of who’s joining him.
Afterwards, Amy realized their negotiation about Sonic coming back to the resistance was a loss. She happily accepted it and accepted Sonic for who he is. Which made the feelings mutual on Sonic’s part in my opinion. He was even bashful while offering her to join him. Showing he didn’t mind having Amy around a bit longer. I know someone else stated this better, but I hope you get the point.
Sonamy is also the one ship that gets the most hints and jokes. From official writers, voice actors, (ESPECIALLY in Japan. Sonic and Amy’s VAs literally sung a love song IN CHARACTER for crying out loud.) X, Boom, Prime, artist, some of the games, and Sega themselves with their marketing.
Fact check me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure in Japan, Amy’s been called Sonic’s “Girlfriend,” plenty of times and some even theorize they're already together in the Japanese version of Sonic Frontiers.
(Which I’m positive is very intentional)
Can’t forget the creator of the characters Naoto Oshima stated on twitter, “Sonic has the eternal heart of a boy, but were he to one day mature, he’d choose Amy.” I believe if any ship in this franchise at least makes the most since, it’s Sonamy. I’m only scratching the surface, but we’d be here forever if I continued.
Tumblr media
Reason 2: The Dynamic
I believe Sonamy works romantically and platonically. Sonic and Amy are best friends so their bond is already close in that regard. I think in times of peace they hang out. Which has been shown in IDW in the retail incentive covers of issue 1, 5th Anniversary.
Tumblr media
The reason I think Amy’s the best choice for Sonic is because she can always keep up with him. She understands him and reads him like a book.
(Sonic doesn’t express himself very well, so that’d be a huge benefit.)
She brings an array of emotion out of him, and accepts him for who he is.
Amy wouldn’t slow him down because they’re relationship wouldn’t change at all. She’s always just as down for going out and exploring as he is. Being a hot-head, she’s not adverse for a bit of head busting with her hammer. Amy allows Sonic for a chance at a relationship he couldn’t get inattentive or tired in.
They’d go on their usual adventurers and might only tell a few friends about their relationship.
(Or keep it a secret)
After that, they’d travel together or Amy would leave Sonic to whatever he needed to do. In Sonic’s case, he would appreciate Amy’s understanding and return the favor by giving her flowers. Maybe even show minimal affection.
Like in Sonic X when he gives Amy a rose in episode 52. X also had moments where Sonic constantly protects/holds onto her. Not to mention willingly laid on a pile of hey next to Amy. And kept the bracelet she made him in episode 9.
Tumblr media
Sonic X isn’t canon, but IDW has moments of Sonic hanging out or fighting alongside Amy too. Point is, the couple would be an updated version of their friendship. A “POWER COUPLE,” to be specific.
Romance doesn’t always mean you have to be lovey-dovey. You can treat your partner like a best friend as well. Sonic and Amy have a unique relationship because they’re subtle about it.
Reason 3: Why?
I believe it’s important to get this out of the way since these are my weird BIGGIES when it comes to shipping. Why Sonic might have a crush on Amy and why Amy loves Sonic?
Sonic’s (Alleged) Reasons: Amy doesn’t want to change him. She can keep up with him. She’s super compassionate and energetic.
(Sonic stated she was “sweet’ before.)
He respects and might even values her ways of thinking. In TMOSTH, he said:
Tumblr media
In Prime he admits she’s, “Pretty great.”
And, he said in IDW Issue #58:
Tumblr media
These can be seen as platonic compliments, but it’s the “Accepting Sonic for who he is” thing that homes in the mutual romantic feelings head-canon.
I’d even argue ever since Unleashed/Black Night he had a little crush on her, but felt unsure of it. That is, until IDW. He might still have no clue what to do next.
Sonic lines in Frontiers : “Amy, I should’ve made up my mind sooner.” and “Wish we were sharing an umbrella, Amy.” are huge examples of that and his reciprocated feelings.
Fun Fact: Sharing an umbrella as a couple in Japan is considered a romantic expression, and teens often draw an umbrella with their name and the name of their crush, the way one would in a heart. A very old tradition.
Sharing an umbrella has been seen as a romantic thing in a few American movies as well.
Here’s another detail I find hilarious. I LOVE in instances like Amy being, “The Lady Of The Lake” in Black Night. The time she ran away from Sonic in Unleashed, and became split versions of herself in Prime. The blue buffoon acts as if he grew more fond and I’d even suggest “attracted” to her. He either flirts with her or gets disappointed. To me, it’s a check on the, “Bringing a wide range of emotion out of him,” point.
Tumblr media
In issue #2 of IDW it’s similar. Sonic asked Amy to join him. Then she admits being away from the resistance for too long. I’d say it’s a weirdly consistent thing. The times Sonic acts ready to “open up,” he and Amy end up having to save the world and go off to do their own thing.
(That panel in The Metal Virus with Sonic reaching to Amy while she’s freaking out, still hurts.)
Is this a sign they may need to take their time? Fortunately, we have additional content with them interacting outside those situations. I guess the hedgies are allowing each other to be their own person before committing to anything.
Like a “when they know, they’ll know,” situation.
Last thing. Sonic hugs Amy in both IDW and Frontiers. Never happened in official canon before, so his feelings must’ve changed into something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amy’s Reasons: He’s her inspiration and motive for loving adventures. Sonic gives Amy an excuse to show off her skills. And she admires his personality.
By the way, can we just appreciate how Amy loves Sonic for the right reasons? Not looks, popularity, or fortune. He always and forever will be her number one.
Reason 4: Conclusion
This isn’t everything, but I’m sure new content will give me new reasons to love this pair. I just wanted to take MOST of what’s already established and use it for a basic understanding.
As basic as overwhelmingly extra can be.
I don’t know whether or not Sonamy will be canon and that’s fine. To me, it’s semi cannon already and there’s a bunch of talented people who create Sonamy stories.
In actual media, their relationships grows stronger and stronger. Which I’ll dub, “Untouched reciprocation,” which is common in videos game ships.
I see Amy and Sonic as best friends with crushes on each other and find that very fascinating. The hedgehogs can just be.
Though on twitter in February 2023, someone asked about Sonic and Amy’s relationship. Then Mario Kishimoto (The director of Sonic Frontiers ) answered, “Sonic is single. But what about a lover? What about Amy? I’m also looking forward to seeing what kind of love Sonic will have in the future.”
Doesn’t prove much, but it could mean Sonic Team is interested in developing this relationship more. Whatever that indicates, I’m intrigued.
All in all this is why I love Sonamy. Hope you enjoyed my over analyzed essay
Stay Creative! 💙💖

Why Shiranami Nagisa is actually a great character
Okay, so, to start off with, this post is not to dissuade anyone from disliking Nagisa. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so please, no attacking anyone for liking Nagisa or Nagihiyo or whatever. Let's all be normal, okay~?
This is all just my personal perspective and opinion. People commenting hate for him or general discourse will be blocked. We share a fandom space, so let's all get along!
Without further ado, let's begin~
Who is Shiranami Nagisa?
Shiranami Nagisa is a character from the Confession Executive Committee franchise, better known as Honeyworks. He debuted in the CHiCO with Honeyworks song, Gamushara, back in October of 2021, and made his first official debut with his own solo song, Suki na Ko ni Uso Tsuita, in April of 2023, though he made an appearance in the shitty anime adaptation of Heroine Tarumono. He recently just got his second solo song, Kimi wo Kawaiku Saseta no wa Doko no Doitsu.
He is the guy in Honeyworks who is crushing on Suzumi Hiyori.
What is Nagisa's story arc, currently?
We don't have a whole lot of information on Nagisa, to be perfectly honest. From what we do know, however, is that when he was a little kid, he and Hiyori met, and Hiyori defended him from bullies at one point...and one day, Hiyori wore a dress to a wedding and Nagisa thought she looked too cute. And being, what, 4? 5 years old??? He told her that she looked weird in dresses. He continues to grow up alongside Hiyori, doing track with her and eventually supporting her in her decision to go to Tokyo to continue track.
He receives 2 tickets to an Ft4 concert, and as he's a big fan, he invites Hiyori to go along with them. He was not expecting her to show up with two boys in tow, and even worse? The boys were idols. Handsome idols. To make matters even more worse, it's LIPxLIP, and he finds out that she's their manager in training.
Nevertheless, he takes her to the concert, and afterwards, he makes dinner for her and ends up confessing when she talks about how LIPxLIP were there for her when she was at a low point in her life.
Hiyori takes over a day to think it over before deciding she wasn't ready for romance, and apologized to him, before adding she was really happy that he confessed to her, because she truly felt like a heroine.
(Hiyori's song, Heroine wa Heikin Ika, is the entire plot of this.)
The two separate, and for a while, we know they kinda keep in touch but not a whole lot..given that, during a tour, when LIPxLIP were going to perform in Izumo City, the three of them, plus Manager Uchida, runs into Nagisa while they were exploring, and we find out Nagisa is going to their concert (to support Hiyori's hard work). Still, they all part on good terms once they were done hanging out.
You can read the Izumo City Collab Vomic here. I also have the OG video in the post so that you can follow along or check for any possible mistakes~
A year later, when KimiKawaii takes place (it's their second year in high school now), Hiyori comes back home, finally, to visit. She enjoys her time with Nagisa, her family, and her other friends, and leaves, with her and Nagisa seeming...more sweeter to each other than before, as seen when she stops, turns around, and gives him a little wave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is something she didn't do when they parted ways the previous year.
After that, their story is a blank slate, but we do know that the two end up going to the same university in Tokyo together, based on the endings of SukiUso and HeroHei.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is where their story, at the present time of typing this, ends.
What is Nagisa's relationship with Hiyori?
As I mentioned above, the two go way back to childhood. Hiyori's father supplied(s) Nagisa's father with fish for his restaurant, so the two pretty much grew up together.
Hiyori values Nagisa's opinion of her, as she wanted to dress up all cutely just for him so that she could prove what he said as a small child was wrong, that she was cute in dresses. She supported him when they were in track together and the two often went on jogs.
Nagisa loves Hiyori. He's head over heels, and finds her beautiful whether she's all dolled up or if she's covered in sweat from running.
As such, the two relied on each other a lot growing up and, given they were halfway across the country apart once Hiyori moved to Tokyo, they grew...less reliant on each other, despite their close connection still.
Hiyori thinks Nagisa is a hero who everyone likes, given how popular he is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Nagisa doesn't particularly care about other people's attention and just wants Hiyori's attention. He tells her after she rejected him and said that he made her feel like a heroine that she would always be a heroine.
Not to mention, Yamako, Gom, and Shito have stated in an interview for the Nee, Sukitte Itaiyo album that Nagisa's love for her is at 100%, while Hiyori's friendship with him is at 100% and her love is currently rising from 0%. Which we can see the clear difference in how they interact from HeroHei/SukiUso to KimiKawaii. Here's that part from the interview.
Tumblr media
Hiyori didn't become conscious of her own love for Nagisa until she was confessed to. Which is normal- it happens.
What is Nagisa's relationship with LIPxLIP?
Nagisa's relationship with the two idols is...rather strained, honestly. While they do become on relatively okay speaking terms by the end of the Izumo Collab, he still despises how they talk to Hiyori. He hates how they call her a "potato girl", and hates how they tease her.
However, while all of that is perfectly valid, he also gets anxious since Hiyori is friends with them. After all, to him, Hiyori is the cutest girl in the world, so who wouldn't fall for her???
As such, he's constantly thinking he has to one-up LIPxLIP for Hiyori's heart, despite Hiyori already stating that she has no romantic interest in them, and they have none for her.
I feel like even if Nagisa and Hiyori got together, he'd still be bitter towards them due to their own treatment of Hiyori, unfortunately, but he'd also be a bit more open to them since she would be "safe" from them lol.
Why people don't like Nagisa?
To get the bitter part out first, there's a couple different reasons why someone would dislike him.
For one, he debuted in 2021, after Hiyori's two novels already dropped, while Hiyori's song, Heroine Development Plan, debuted back in January of 2020. That's well over a year- (one year and 8 months to be exact) from each other's debut.
Not to mention, despite Yamako repeatedly mentioning that Koi Iro ni Sake, the end of the MV was just introducing the Gen 3 characters and was not setting them up, many people believed them appearing side by side meant that they would get together.
Tumblr media
Which...even if Yamako never did state this, this argument doesn't make any sense, since it isn't just the canon couples shown.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The idiot trio aren't a poly group or anything. Ken is dating Arisa from the second image, Kotaro married Hina from the second image, and Koyuki gets with a girl who doesn't even show up in this MV!
But I digress.
Because of this MV, many people thought Yujiro and Hiyori would get together...though, in truth, Yamako says that she just wasn't done with Aizou's design yet.
Unfortunately, she's stated this on her private pixiv, which I do not have access to, so you'll either have to take my word for it, or DM me and I can have a friend screenshot her saying this.
As such, many people thought he was too..."last second", and "forced". Especially since Hiyori's already crushed on the (now discontinued) character, Kaido Asuka.
And while that is a pretty fair point, it's safe to say that Nagisa's design just took Yamako a long time to finish, as she had planned for them to be together from the beginning. Did they handle his appearance and his and Hiyori's overall story poorly because of the novels and such? Yes. But it shouldn't be taken out on Nagisa.
Another reason for people to dislike Nagisa would be that they dislike his personality. Lots of people dislike the "childhood jealousy" trope. I would assume that they hated Kotaro too, since his jealousy with Hina was through the roof, and Yuu, at least in the movie "I've always liked you", was jealous to the point of acting terribly to Natsuki and Koyuki. But I'm just assuming.
That, or they hate how he was the reason why Hiyori's self confidence went down about being more feminine. He, however, betters himself and restores her self confidence tenfold after the events of HeroHei/SukiUso. Plus, he was literally like 5 years old, it's not fair to hold that over him.
Especially if the biggest reason why someone dislikes him is because...they ship Hiyori with LIPxLIP, or just one of the two.
Ship what you want- it's all okay!! However, if you hate Nagisa for what he said to her, you should also be holding LIPxLIP accountable for the terrible things they've said to and about Hiyori.
From the novel them telling her to throw away her hoodies because they're ugly, putting a panda bear costume head on top of her and telling her it's an improvement, to telling her she'll be rejected if she doesn't look like a real heroine...they, at age 15, act way worse than Nagisa, who was 5 years old.
If you refuse to look back at the novel, then look at the MV.
Tumblr media
Even the anime, they taunt her that she won't be a heroine without her makeover. I'm loathe to get screenshots, but...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Teasing or not, they were aiming to bring down her peppy mood. It's just going way too far. It goes beyond the single thing Nagisa said.
Again, ship what you want, but it's hypocritical to hate Nagisa for that one line when they pull all of this ^ in the span of a single arc. And do more in other arcs.
I really didn't want to talk about this very much, but. It's inevitable, given how many people who ship Yujiro with Hiyori freaked out on JPTwt over Nagisa's latest MV. I'm talking harassing Gom, harassing the vutuber who sang Nagisa's song, screaming, cussing, harassing Nagihiyo shippers...this level of anger and hatred is intense for a honey fandom.
The English fandom isn't much better. Sure, there's way less hate going on, but there's still some people actively going to other people's accounts and attacking them for just liking Nagisa.
Some people have said "but...people only ship nagihiyo because Hiyori's in the way of their uwu yaoi ship aiyuu!". I've seen it from multiple different people.
But isn't that argument also hypocritical?
You only hate Nagisa because he's in the way of your uwu poly ship.
The turns have tabled. Now please stop attacking people who like Nagisa and Nagihiyo. So far, no one has said this ^. So please stop disrespecting other shippers when they're trying to vibe in joy.
I also want to say I will 100% call out aiyuu shippers as well when I see them being toxic to other fans, I think ship wars are fucking stupid. Just live and let live!! It isn't hard!!!
So...why do people like Nagisa, then?
OKAY. We have finally gotten to the POINT of this longass post. Sorry about that~ I just wanted to cover all my bases before diving into this and potentially confusing anyone!
Many people became drawn to Nagisa in his debut MV, due to his refusal to give up when he was doing poorly in track. He had a whole montage of training and fighting to do better, with his friends cheering him on as he was so close to winning first place. He went from dead last to second. That's extremely admirable.
However, he truly began to pop off after the anime began.
People liked him for his kindness towards Hiyori. Sure, anime onlys got a big misconception about him when he first appeared, but they quickly changed their tune after his episode. I think what most people liked is the fact that, even if it was in a moment of desperation, he was honest and upfront with Hiyori about why he told her when they were children that dresses looked weird on her. When he confessed to her and saw her shocked, he quickly excused himself and didn't once push.
In fact, he was about to leave without pushing for any sort of answer at all, but Hiyori caught up with him and gently rejected him, since she had track, high school, friends, and a job to juggle. It would be too much to add a long distance relationship.
And Nagisa respected that. He smiled at her and was unbothered.
He completely respected her decision, and simply told her that she's always been a heroine.
In KimiKawaii, a year later, we can see him wanting to hold hands with her-
Tumblr media
But he refrains.
Because he respects her boundaries. She told him "I'm not ready for a relationship", so he refuses to do anything romantic until/unless she's ready.
Some people may have complained that Nagihiyo didn't have much progress in this MV...I disagree. Their interactions are sweeter, and you can tell Hiyori's growing fonder of him. Given this is their second year of high school, it makes perfect sense that he's holding back.
When looking for a partner, of course you want someone who respects your choices and boundaries. The fact that Nagisa refuses to push her, bring up the confession, ask her if she feels any different, is proof that he truly loves and values her.
Hell- he told her not to contact him until she gets the results for her tournament. Why?
Because he wants her to succeed in her goals more than anything.
Likewise, Hiyori is the one who completely supports Nagisa in being a chef. Both of them, not just Nagisa, put each other's dreams ahead of their romance, because they both want the other to be happy.
Nagisa also is the one who actively calls LIPxLIP out on their treatment of Hiyori. Uchida doesn't do much of anything, and their classmates are unaware of what's going on. Of their manager and idol relationship.
Nagisa is, outside of their work, the only one who knows how Hiyori gets treated by them. Even in SukiUso, he has a line demanding they stop calling her a potato girl while hugging her protectively.
Tumblr media
Which, to many who adore Hiyori, is honestly a breath of fresh air. Hiyori really does deserve more than to be the laughingstock of LIPxLIP all the time, you know?
Even when she and they are getting along, they still tease her.
It's nice to have someone wholly and fully defending a character who keeps getting kicked down again and again and again. People love Nagisa for that.
He's not afraid to speak out against them in general.
He's a genuine guy. Outspoken. Protective. A good cook. Someone who, despite failing over and over again and just flat out not winning doesn't give up. His spirit is something we should all admire.
And of course, while LIPxLIP tease Hiyori for her appearance, he doesn't. He loves her no matter what she looks like.
And...while we're on the topic of their love...
Why Nagihiyo?
Yes, I had to include this as well. Just for a short little rant.
The reason people love Nagihiyo isn't because they want to shove Hiyori away from the BL ship, aiyuu. (Okay, I'm sure a few shippers do think so, I know I've seen one, there's probably a couple more), it's because their themes are wonderful.
Yeah, we all love childhood friends to lovers. Sure.
But the whole point of nagihiyo is that Nagisa doesn't have to be "Prince Charming" to get Hiyori to like him. He just has to be himself. And likewise, Hiyori doesn't need to dress cutesy and girly to make Nagisa like her. She doesn't need to be a Cinderella. She's a heroine in her own right, and Nagisa was the one who helped her realize it.
The two of them support each other through and through. They don't have to change a single thing about themselves. It's simply a given.
So while yes, his debut and appearance were handled a bit sloppily, he's still coming forward, full force. I hope we get to know him better through more MVs, and I hope that he and Hiyori get the happiness that they both deserve.
Their dreams, their hopes, their love.
Everything.
*Again, please note this is all my opinion and what I've gathered from other Nagisa likers. If anyone else who loves Nagisa has anything else to add, please feel free.

Is gremlin Prescott misunderstood? The great debate!
My debrief…
Gremlin Prescott, just like many villains with complex backstories and lore from media, is a character who is horribly misunderstood, mainly due to how he is presented, outwardly.
For the sake of characters like this, i bid you to turn your views- Inwardly. It makes it much easier to understand a quote unquote ‘evil’ character, if you simply take into account how they are presented in this way.
Intro!
If you’ve ever played epic Mickey, or any games from the franchise for that matter, you would probably know who Gremlin Prescott is- an outwardly jealous, and egotistical character who, to an extent, is portrayed to be ‘evil’. You’re probably thinking “Well, why wouldn’t he be evil, he is one of the main villains you fight in the game!”
Just because a character is a villain, does not mean that they are a ‘bad person’.
Prescott is actually a perfect portrayal of this.
Funny enough, there is not actually a SINGLE action that he does in the game, which would make him a bad person! Even the fact that he attempts to murder the protagonists (mickey, oswald and gus) in my opinion would not be enough to deem him evil- he is simply doing what has been asked of him, in a fit of jealousy, rage and betrayal. And lets not ignore the fact that his relationships with these characters are not exactly good ones…
And of course Prescott would do what was asked of him, gremlins are naturally proven to want to serve the needs of others, in his case, he serves the Mad Doctor; half against his will.
Lets discuss this!
relationship with MD
Prescott’s relationship with the Mad Doctor is actually reminiscent of a father/son relationship- one in which he never got to experience. This is clear from the way Gus (his father) treats and undermines him.. gremlin Prescott is arguably one of THE SMARTEST gremlins within the franchise… but this is a whole different topic in itself. To cut a long story short, the Mad doctor takes advantage of Prescott and uses him for his intelligence, and betrays him immediately after…
The mad doctor, being the ‘evil and unforgiving’ villain that he is, takes advantage of Prescott’s vulnerability, after seeing how much he despised his mediocre job working at the gag factory. (Believe me when i say, he HATES working there.) Which eventually lead him to becoming one of the main villains. The fact that his Brother (Jam-face) was working on the one thing that HE was good at, really pissed him off, therefore he would be understandably upset
Now, Would it surprise anyone to know that the reason Prescott made the machine you fight in the second stage of EM2, was because of the Mad Doctors influence? Because the Mad doctor gave Prescott the attention he so desperately desired (and deserved), he did all this in an attempt to appease him.
And as we know, the only reason the mad doctor decided to take Prescott in, as it were, was to manipulate him into doing his bidding, creating a distraction from the larger problems in wasteland, caused by himself, and leading the public to believe that it was all Prescott’s fault. How unfair!
If that wasn’t unfair enough, think of the cutscene shown just after we defeat Prescott, where he gets sent to prison- there is a-lot of important dialogue here.
“I don’t understand, he told me no one could defeat me!” -GP
“He told you? Who are you talking about?” -G
*and then GP points DIRECTLY at MD as he comes out the projector*
(And yes, i do know the entire cutscene plus the song off the top of my head, it is a talent, i know~)
The ‘He’ in question, is actually the mad doctor, and as I’ve just said, the reason we know this is because Prescott points over at the Mad Doctor as he is retelling this information… And he was smart for this, however it appears to be to no avail- as Gus completely ignores him during this…the only reason he actually got hypnotised during this interrogation, was because the Mad Doctor KNEW that the first thing Prescott would do, upon being betrayed, would be to protest, and understandably so! How would you feel if the one person you trusted, who you considered your closest friend, betrayed you on the spot like that? Im sure this is something in which we all have a mutual agreement on, it makes you feel anything BUT happy..
So yes, Prescott is miss understood for this, as he was taken advantage of, and falsely lead into a state of evil- and as we know, Prescott can, and will absolutely murder and take vengeance upon anyone who attempts to upset him.
(I mean, all you have to do is look at the event that happened with the telephone in EM1- he dismantles the telephone because she Locked him in a safe and took his wrench… valid reason to murder? Thats up for debate…)
And To absolutely no one’s surprise, Gremlin Prescott is shown in BOTH GAMES to be a naturally vengeful character, which i might tel you, is not normal for his ‘kind-natured and down to earth species.’
And I’ve done enough epic Mickey two speed runs completed in record time to know that none of this was ever in Prescott’s control, its just how he IS.
So how can a character who’s personality and attitude is out of their control, not be perceived as misunderstood? Exactly. They can’t.
relationship with Gus + Jamface
If you observe how Gus is With Prescott (who, yes, is his son), you would probably notice how much he apparently cares for him- however, if you do some research and inference into the two character’s interactions, it is evident that Gus far from a good parent.
Would i go as far as to say he is partially emotionally neglective? Absolutely.
Jamface is put on a metaphoric pedestal by Gus (who yes, is also his dad… Jamface and Prescott are brothers, shock, horror..) all because of Jamfaces ‘excellent projector skills!’
Wanna know whos BETTER at working on projectors? Gremlin prescott.
And its not as if Gus doesn’t know this, either, during the investigation into who sabotaged the projectors, Gus outright states that prescott would never destroy the projectors.
“But Prescott LOVES working on the projectors, hed never destroy them on purpose’”
Would he though?
If it was fuled on jealousy, yes, he would.
Prescott and jam face are shown to have a conflicting relationship right from the start. (Sorry Prescott x jam face shippers, but that would never work out :) )
And Prescott is shown to be overly jealous of jam-faces position. He is dubbed the ‘best mechanic in wasteland’ despite this not actually being true…
Could jam face single handedly build multiple intricate interactive dioramas depicting historical events in lore, and build a literal war machine for the sake of someone else?
I think the answer we are looking for here is No.
So why would Gus give jam face a job and title that he doesn’t exactly live up to, and give Prescott the boring job of working in the gag factory… its basically like forcing the worlds smartest mathematician to work a 9/5 office job for the rest of their lives, and giving the person with no experience of working a complex job, a job as a doctor…
Prescott even says to Gus that he does not listen to him, in his plans to upgrade the projectors… so we can infer from this that gus doesnt really give a shit about what he has to say. And whats even worse is that Gus rarely believes in prescotts ability to do well… as we see in the first part of EM2, where states “i knew i shouldn’tve let Prescott make that amplifier” the fact that HE KNEW gives us the impression that he had thought on it before hand, which leads us only to believe that Gus doesn’t think to greatly of his OWN SON’S ideas and abilities, which in turn is a negative attitude to have towards a person, regardless.
Gus simply favourites Jam-face over Prescott, which actually happens to be the main reason as to why he turns ‘bad’, so to speak. Prescott becomes desperate to appease his father, attempting to persuade him to give him the projector job, and when he realises that he isn’t getting the appreciation and approval that he wants, he turns to the only person willing to help him- the mad doctor.
Which leaves him to be backstabbed in the end- ironic right?
Shame on you, Gus.
how does Gremlin Prescott respond to criticism?
Gremlin Prescott is presented as being highly intelligent, and that wouldn’t exactly be false either, because he IS highly intelligent. However, upon being faced with criticism of any kind- such as Gus disregarding his ideas of upgrading the projectors, or Goofy not using his supercharger machine to filter thinner out of Ostown, be becomes rather grumpy over it, and so he should. (To be fair, Goofy wasn’t even using the supercharger properly in the first place, you are actually only supposed to use one.)
Not to be bias as an Epic Mickey two speed-runner, but Prescotts supercharger method during the first portion of the game is actually proven to be both effective, and fast! And a time saver for us speed runners… (thank you Prescott<3) Despite the after effects being a spray of thinner at various houses, it does actually get the job done,
Need a faster way of cleaning up the thinner in Ostown? Prescott provided the perfect solution!
And to add to this, Jam-face was the one who suggested using the three pumps as they are, whereas Prescott basically went a step further and provided a faster method which requires less pump use- and judging by the interaction between the two characters, we can only assume that this was another one of Prescott’s attempts to ‘prove himself’ to Gus, and to prove that he is better than Jam-face- which, he is!
And not to mention, Prescott also gets rather offended when someone tries to insult his intelligence- he saw Gus putting him in charge of the gag factory, as a criticism to his work, and therefore, he is slowly driven mad by it, Which unfortunately leads to his downfall.
This would again, proves him to be misunderstood, as the people he is trying to prove himself to are critical to his ideas, that are actually useful; they are not giving him a fair chance.
I might also add, Prescott will stop at nothing to prove himself correct. Going back to what i was saying with Goofy misusing the supercharged pumps, when he misuses them, Prescott snaps at him for doing so, only because after misusing them, Goofy decides on using jam-face’s method! (Idiot.)
Further on this, if you use prescotts method of clearing the thinner, he sounds certain that they would work, just like he said, in a rather bothered tone.
In conclusion to this, Prescott is just one of these people who- if questioned when he knows he is correct, he will willingly put up a protest!
gps waisted potential
Unsurprisingly, due to Prescott being given an awful job at the gag factory, he has naturally lost his potential to do well.
He blames Gus for wasting his talent- i quote
“My talents were wasted in the gag factory, wasted by you, Gus!”
Prescott’s idea of a place where he would be appreciated, is a dark, isolated and potentially dangerous abandoned float-yard- which perhaps implies that he does not believe he will ever be appreciated, hence the isolated area?
However you look at it, this definitely damaged Prescotts self esteem when it came to his works, he was constantly told by the mad doctor that “no-one could defeat” him, Despite Mickey and Co defeating him at the end of the second section of the game…
If you complete a flawless paint path for the dioramas (fix all 3 of them no with no mistakes), there is a section of dialogue between Abe and Prescott which is recited to Mickey, Gus and Oswald when they ask if he has heard from him.
To summarise, Prescott explains to Abe that what he is doing is for the benefit of himself, and that he is “going to a place where he will be appreciated”, he also states that “soon, everyone will remember his name.” Whether people will remember him for something good or bad is never actually stated, but we can infer it to be bad, as Prescott appeared to want to take over wasteland in vengeance against all who disliked him, maybe for the mad Doctor?
Gremlin prescott clearly has some kind of trust problems.
Abe appears to be one of the VERY few people (robots) that Prescott trusts, as the news does eventually get back to him that Mickey, Gus and Oswald are looking for him- which he is not impressed by… :|
So, would wasted potential be a factor for Prescott being misunderstood? I would say yes, as this is yet again, another reason for him to feel the need to lash out, and side with the mad doctor, one of the only people who seemed to appreciate him.
Para6: the telephone incident
For those unaware, Gremlin prescott dismantled (murdered) mickeys telephone in the thinner path of EM1, which happens to be the true ending… He did this because the telephone lured him into a safe, locked him inside and took his wrench; this is referred to by the fandom as the ‘telephone incident.’
To be blunt here, Being locked in a safe must’ve caused prescott some form of trauma- if he felt that strongly about being locked in there. What we could also infer from the incident is that prescott is INCREDIBLY vengeful; its not every day you see a person commit murder over being trapped somewhere…
And this incident could have influenced Prescott’s later actions in the game, potentially forming more of a hatred against Gus for putting the telephone back together.
Conclusion!
What conclusions could we make from this? Well, Prescott is a clearly complex character, who is evidently misunderstood. He struggles to trust people due to his past experiences, and because of the way he had been treated by Gus, having his work overlooked, he latched onto a person who turned out to not have the best intentions… we’ve heard this story before, haven’t we?
This is a common occurrence in antagonists, and the sad part about this particular situation is, Prescott looks up to the mad doctor as a father figure- and if the mad doctor didn’t turn out to be a twat, they could’ve been the perfect duo…
Maybe in another universe, folks!

So I have prophetic dreams. The way they go is I have a dream as a little kid and think nothing of it, and then have that same dream years later and realize “wait, that dream that I first had several years ago references a thing that only came out recently”. The dreams are mostly nonsense, but they do reference characters/locations/people that I only learned about recently.
Three examples of said dreams to prove that I’m not just making stuff up:
1: I end up in a copy of my old middle school that has a game like super smash bros ultimate, and I have to fight master hand (although the game is wrongly referred to as super smash bros brawl). I first had this dream before I went to middle school, before I met a teacher featured in the dream, before I knew the super smash bros franchise existed, before I knew of characters featured in that game (hero and master hand), before super smash bros was even revealed, and possibly before super smash bros brawl came out, although I’m not sure on that last part as I’ve never played that game before.
2: The five dragonets from the wings of fire series discovering a different continent and meeting a dragon named Rappa. I first had this dream before I knew about the wings of fire series, before they decided to introduce a second then-unknown continent, and before a character from an unrelated video game Honkai star rail was revealed named Rappa. Honkai star rail also didn’t exist back then, maybe not even Honkai impact third, and I didn’t know about Mihoyo or their other games.
3: I have to go to an alternate dimension to occupy members of the president’s security’s bodies to get him to a specific location. When I first had this dream, Obama was president, and I thought my brain had just made up a president. The president featured in my dream was Joe Biden, who I didn’t know existed when I first had this dream. We have to go through a high school in the quest to occupy the security’s bodies, and two students look significantly like Janis and Damien from the original mean girls movie, which I’ve never watched and didn’t know existed until recently. After a certain point, the president and a non-descript friend that’s helping me with this plot is depicted as a stick figure, specifically the one from animator v animation, which is a series I have never watched and have only seen one screenshot of very recently. When we first start occupying the security’s bodies, I’m holding a water for elephants plushie that was only produced for the recent musical, that only debuted earlier this year, that I saw less then two weeks ago and that I brought. (Proof I brought the plushie below). I also didn’t know about the book or movie until I saw the musical very recently. The members of the security team whose bodies me and the friend inhabit are also characters from dragon ball, an anime/manga that I didn’t know about until a few years ago, after I had the dream, and I’ve never watched or read dragon ball. (I think the characters are vegeta and goku, but I really wouldn’t know).
Proof I have the water for elephants plushie:
Tumblr media
So you might be wondering, why exactly am I telling you this? Well, recently I had a dream about Angel and Husk from Hazbin hotel that I first had several years ago, and there was a specific shot that I believe may end up in a song in season two, as well as being confirmation (we could guess this, but still) that Husk is getting a love song with Angel.
Tumblr media
(The text says:
they fall from reality
Husk is singing
He rows right
Note: Body swapping hijinks?)
(I would also like to advise you to take the body swapping stuff with an ENTIRE PITCHER of salt. I think that has a less then one percent chance of actually getting in the show)
I’m aware that only I have tangible proof that these dreams are prophetic, but I want to post this now so if the shot ends up in the actual episode I can say ‘I told you so’ and hopefully use this post as proof I have prophetic dreams.

My thoughts on The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie
I don’t know if I liked it as much as the original films (maybe Mockingjay 1 & 2 as they are pretty emotionally draining), but I still enjoyed it.
I think where it fell a little flat for me is 1. The beginning was a bit slow (tbh I only really started getting interested when Lucy Gray stuck that snake down that girl’s dress & even then I enjoyed the story more when the setting changed from the Capitol to the district) 2. I knew Snow would survive 3. I’d already been spoiled online for a lot of stuff that happens & 4. while I know the director did his best to make Snow as “likeable” as he could for as long as possible, even before he started getting “a little too comfortable” with killing & snitching I didn’t find him as sympathetic as Katniss or Peeta (but that is probably again down to the fact that I know what he goes onto do & there’s no real way around that), this made engaging with him difficult for me.
The world is fascinating. Getting to see all the new locations we never had access to before as well as old locations now in a totally different light (for example district 12 which, while still clearly suffering, seemed like such a bustling industrial town compared to how it is in Katniss’s time). It might have a much more retro aesthetic but there's also just a more vibrant, natural, wild & lawless atmosphere to this movie compared to the others in the franchise. The whole scope of the film just felt more cinematic then I remember the others being yet also weirdly intimate. Maybe because it was one contained story & we knew the main character’s fate from the start. I also loved the title cards signifying the start of each section of the story like from the books & wished they'd done something similar for the other films. It just added a certain flair to the whole thing. Almost gave it the vibe of a tragic play.
The costuming was great. The bright red of the academy uniforms.  Flickerman’s snazzy suits. Snow’s dapper black & white outfit. Both peace keeper uniforms (despite one of them giving very ‘1930’s Germany’ vibes) looked great. Grandma might have been a bigot, but at least she was well dressed. Everything Dr Gaul wore (except the top that looked like a used tampon, lol) was exquisite. The main ladies of fashion, Tigris & Lucy Gray slayed. Our Future Capitol stylist looked like some regal yet exotic bird & Miss Survivor was giving Bohemian, country girl realness the entire time she was on screen. Even the extras were serving (like that random couple Snow walked past on his way to the reaping ceremony).
The music was amazing. Every song that played was fantastic (shout out to Olivia for her end credit contribution). The lyrics & instrumentation were beautiful & my god does Rachel Zegler have pipes! Anyone who says the singing scenes are cringy is just stupid like I’m sorry you can’t appreciate art. Also, the words ‘ballad’ & ‘songbirds’ are literally in the title. Plus, Lucy Gray is from the poorest district, so what exactly do those people want her to do in her free time? She can’t exactly hop on an X-box for a few hours. Not too mention that (as the offspring of someone who’s musically inclined) I can tell you, it’s completely realistic for a musician to use their craft to help them deal with trauma & Lucy Gray clearly had more than her fair share of that.
The Grandma'am helped to paint a sadly very realistic background for Snow. As who among us hasn’t met at least one delusional old person who thinks that their/their group’s suffering (regardless of the severity of it or the reason behind their former/newer status in society) means that no one else are deserving of even the tiniest shred of humanity & there are some people who are unlucky enough to not only be related to these people but be raised by them.
Hunter schafer as Tigris is clearly the superior Snow when it comes to things like empathy & overall mental stability but I do kind of wish they’d been more for her to do. Credit where credit is due though her & Tom did actually look like they could be related & I did buy their familial bond (which makes her appearance in Mockingjay so much sadder in hindsight).
Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom was a bit of a mix for me just due to his purpose as a character & the limit of film as a form of media. Like sure the audience know that Snow’s going to become an irredeemable monster in the end but without a window into his mind it really does just seem like the Dean is just out to get him & even when we find out why it seems kind of unfair. Like sure his dad sucked but haven’t the Games shown that blaming children for violence caused by others is unjust (& like ok he hates Coriolanus & probably the grandma but Tigris hadn’t done anything to deserve living in poverty, as she can’t control who she’s related to)? Plus, it felt like he could have at least tried taking Snow under his wing at some point to try to hinder Dr Gual’s influence. Saying all of that, though, Peter Dinklage is great at playing an addict with depression & the idea that some drunken rambling could lead to such long-lasting suffering is terrifying. Also its pretty realistic that living with that kind of guilt & in such a cruel environment for that long would make most people jaded & bitter, even if they did have good intentions.
Omg we finally get a Mayor family on screen & they’re assholes! Madge would be so disappointed 😭. It was interesting to see how harsh & overall “boot licky” the mayor & his family seemed compared to decades later, which makes sense as the war wasn’t that long ago for them so the dad probably felt more incentive to align himself with the Capitol as well as not feeling very connected to the district people as 12’s decline probably didn’t fully set in until they really started running low on coal & Snow became president (oh I just know he wanted to blow that district off the map 😆). I also wouldn’t put it past Billy to come up with some sob story of how he really does love Mayfair but wicked Lucy Gray is somehow preventing them from being together. Still no excuse to try to send her to her death twice in one week, though. Definitely not a girl’s girl.
Ok, so a liar. Cheat. Drunk & someone who hits women. Is there anything good about Billy Taupe? Also, trying to get your ex back, while your current girlfriend is literally standing right next to you? Dude, have some god damn back bone! You made a choice, now stick to it. Also, fumbling Lucy Gray, for a girl like that? What’s it like having no brains or taste? Well, too bad, coz you’re stuck with her forever now, lol.
Viola Davies, the actress that you are. What else is there to say? Dr Gaul is almost comic book levels of insane. Like she is how the Right see women in STEM, on crack! I don’t know what she did to get into character, but whatever it was, it worked.
Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius Flickerman is a very interesting addition to the story despite playing such a small & seemingly insignificant role. He is strange in how unthreatening he is while also extremely blasé about the abhorrent violence he witnesses that it’s as funny as it is disturbing. Making him come across as  more human yet harsher than his son, who at least pretends to care about the tributes (in a very Capitol way, obviously but still). There’s also a polish & confidence to Tucci’s performance that I think Schwartzman did a great job of avoiding copying (despite knowing what audiences were probably expecting) because not only are their characters in entirely different stages of their careers but the whole ethos of the Hunger Games is different in Snow’s youth than it is in Katniss’s. Caesar is a well established presenter & during his time, the games have always been a success (minus the year with the tundra) that the entire Capitol is invested in & seemingly in support of. On the other hand Lucretius had the unique task of not only coming into a job like this with zero experience (I mean imagine going from announcing the weather to presenting the fucking hunger games) but also there were no vibes to try to emulate let alone guidelines to follow because he truly was the first person to do this. On top of that, the "event" his presenting has been panned for years as both boring & unethical. Schwartzman brought a slightly awkward, experimental, yet try hard vibe (like a comedian who's desperate to get a laugh) that I think worked wonderfully for the character.
Tom Blyth's performance was great & he was visually perfect for a young Snow (the power of a good wig! Who knew lol). Even having the cool, analytical stare of Donald Sutherland, down pat. While his appearance was very Eminem during his peacekeeping days, his realisation in the cabin and subsequent breakdown in the woods were crazy. There was so much tension between him & Rachel in that scene that for a second, it literally felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room. I could almost hear the record scratch for both of them, & all that building paranoia finally coming to a sudden crescendo in the way that it did? Pure cinema!
Josh Rivera, as Sejanus, was honestly a mix for me. Obviously, I agree with his morals, but his way of going about it did seem a little dumb. However I do think it’s pretty realistic that a teenager, especially a rich one, would be rather naive. Also I’ve heard that he’s smarter in the book & I think at times my frustration with him is more just down to the fact that I’m seeing him from Snow’s point of view. Meaning scenes that would be portrayed as noble in any other film instead come across as almost painfully inconvenient because the focus is always on how they affect Snow rather than the actual victims of the situation. Lastly, sorry, Snowjanus shippers, I just don’t see it (especially on Snow’s end), but whatever floats your boat.
Rachel Zegler played Lucy Gray with the perfect mix of natural charm & emotional vulnerability with clear pride in her culture & a refusal to let the world around her change who she is. Yet there was also an air of mystery & a subtle resilience to her that makes her potentially surviving out in the woods for years without being detected actually believable (though I don’t buy the theory that she went on to become president Coin). Definitely the highlight of the movie for me.
PS. I'd love to know what you think of my review in the comments/tags & am open to criticism (as long as it's respectful) just remember that I'm only talking about the movie so please don't reference anything spersific to the book.

I still don't get why would they have the smallfolk attacking Alicent and Helena during Jahaerys funeral
They're trying to make Rhaenyra smart or a savvy politician - which she isn't.
From how I heard it, Rhaenyra is going to pay agitators to stir up a mob against Alicent and Helaena about the lack of food while they are doing humanitarian work with The Faith in the city. When the images leaked people thought it was during Jaehaery's Funeral, but I think that they were just shooting all the King's Landing street scenes at once, and Jaehaery's Funeral and the food riot are two separate scenes.
They're desperately trying to make up for Daenary's ill-handled fall to the dark side by trying to turn Rhaenyra from a crazed, cowardly, spoiled little rich girl, into a girl-boss by rewriting her character to be more involved in the war than she was in "Fire & Blood", which she did absolutely nothing throughout it. The problem is that they've not shown Rhaenyra to be even a little bit smart in the show. Rhaenyra, in fact, has been shown to be one of the stupidest characters in not just the show but in the entire franchise of ASoIaF period.
In the book Team Black is very powerful but also very - very - dumb. They make all the wrong decisions and suffer from poor leadership from Rhaenyra and Daemon. Team Black benefits from contrivances of Martin's shoddy writing of things happening for plot's sake (que the Riverland's magic respawning population lead by the out of left field charisma of the magic bastard gay-boy)
It's simply morons in an Hollywood echo chamber trying to make-up for a problem that isn't there. They'll wreck the entire symmetry of a story just so that some overweight blue haired wildebeest on X/Twitter won't write a thread about how they're sexist because Rhaenyra is portrayed as a spoiled, incompetent, cunt that loses her mind and becomes a ruthless tyrant that the entire city of King's Landing turns against ending the age of Dragons.
People forget that in A Song of Ice and Fire there's four famed monsterous Targaryen tyrants remembered by history.
Maegor, Aegon IV, Aerys II, and Rhaenyra

What do you think about the "Descendants" franchise?
Well, before I go into detail, let's put it this way: one of the reasons I was unsure about "Twisted Wonderland," when I first heard of it years ago, is because the concept vaguely reminded me of Descendants. I have since occasionally described the game as "Descendants Done Right." So, yeah, not a fan. :P First of all, I should point out I really only know the franchise through the movies: I know that there are some books, and I believe a TV show, both of which follow their own continuity. MAYBE those are better, but I can't say I'm in a hurry to find out. As for the films...I feel they're all such vast missed opportunities. Regarding the main characters and the plots, I feel there are some great ideas in there, somewhere, waiting to burst from their chrysalides, but they never really get a chance to. The movies favor "silly Disney sitcom antics" over any real substance. Most of the main players feel like stock characters I've seen a million times before, most of the jokes just aren't funny, to be blunt, and the drama and romance feel so half-baked. Not to mention, it feels like every plot is kind of the same thing, but with a few bells and whistles changed, over and over again. :P I also take umbrage with the depictions of the classic Disney Villains: I know one friend of mine actually really likes the way they're depicted as "has-been villains," but a.) that simple fact is part of my problem, because I have great respect and love for the characters, and b.) more importantly, even that aspect is inconsistent. They can't seem to make up their minds on whether the old vanguard of characters, especially the villains, are meant to be treated seriously or not. You can make a character funny AND also a force to be reckoned with - that's kind of the hallmark of the Disney Villains - but these films don't seem to know HOW to DO that. Not only that, but a lot of them just do NOT feel right with the characters we know: Jafar is absolutely NOTHING like Jafar, and Kristin Chenoweth - God bless her Glinda-playing heart - is just WOEFULLY miscast as Maleficent, to give two examples. Some of the portrayals of the classic villains are okay, but most of them are just so many levels of "missing the point entirely." As for the music...ehhhhh, I'd say it's hit or miss. Mostly miss, to be honest, but there are a few songs, scattered throughout the movies, that I like. And I'll give the films this credit: I have seen and sat through every single one of them, however begrudgingly. I think it's because I have this faint hope that at some point, SOME point, MAYBE they'll finally do something WORTH seeing. I think the third film came pretty close - it's the closest I have come yet to actually liking these sorry pictures - but even that one has too many flaws for me to get fully behind it. Overall...there's some glimmers of goodness in the Descendants movies, but at the end of the day, I think the ACTUAL Maleficent said it best...

A Rant on Trollstopia and Trolls The Beat Goes On
Listen, I get that the Trolls franchise is considered for children and that they obviously won’t delve into heavy angst (I don’t expect them to) BUT I feel like they could do more to address Branch’s issues, especially in the TV shows.
For example, in Trolls The Beat Goes On, the show ends with Branch basically admits that he tries to change himself so that others would like him, and while they do comfort him, I wished that would have been acknowledged in the sequel show (I consider it the sequel show and it’s basically confirmed I think) Trolls Trollstopia.
Now onto Trollstopia… Branch… what did they do to you, my boy?
He is… certainly out of character in some moments. In TBGO, he did have his moments of being not entirely in character (in my opinion) but they at least addressed his issues and how he is working to become a more positive troll.
Now, I know that his issues were mostly resolved in TBGO, and he should have more happier moments, but I feel like they kind of undermined his rigidness with the rules he creates for himself and I would’ve liked to see him put more of his other skills to use, not just his repair skills.
Not to mention I BARELY saw Gary being used! Considering how Branch LOVES protecting others, I would imagine that he would set up even MORE traps, especially with more trolls moving to Trollstopia. Branch doesn’t seem to like change much (he loves rules, and in the holiday special, Holiday In Harmony, he was upset with Poppy briefly changing what they were doing. He’s so autistic coded I can relate to that so much!) and I feel with more trolls arriving, I can imagine there would be moments in which Branch would have to have his schedule changed, and I would’ve liked an episode like that! An episode where he has to confront that sometimes his love for schedules can be detrimental to him! I’m not sure if I’m making any sense, but as someone who loves schedules but also acknowledges that it could be detrimental to me, I would’ve loved an episode where Branch deals with that.
Now, onto him and Poppy. There aren’t many episodes with Branch and Poppy being together! Their relationship with each other (whether you interpret their relationship in the show as platonic or romantic) is one that I love so much! In TBGO, there were at least episodes where Branch or Poppy did something for the other! I remember in one episode that Poppy tried to convince Branch to dance with her and the episode ends with him telling her that she worries so much so he basically had her ask him to dance and it ends with Poppy leading Branch towards the dance floor! I wish there were more moments like that, because their dynamic with each other is one that I adore!
With Trollstopia, I feel like Poppy spends more time with new characters, and while I enjoy that, I wish she got more time to spent with Branch or any of the other characters from the previous show!
Now, onto Creek. I kinda like him (he’s a very comedic character in my opinion) but I would’ve liked an episode in which he… oh, I don’t know, APOLOGIZES FOR THE SHIT THAT HES DONE!!!! (We all know that his ‘apology’ was pure bullshit!) and for him to maybe, just maybe, GOT THE CONSEQUENCES TO HIS ACTIONS INSTEAD OF EVERYONE FORGIVING HIM!!!! He could still be a prick, but at least have the other trolls at least hold some resentment besides Branch and Poppy in some instances. If they really wanted Creek in the show, then acknowledge what he did! Have him show genuine regret for his actions and have some trolls not forgive him for that! Branch is completely justified in disliking Creek, and while I do admit that his ‘I’m Sorry’ song is catchy as fuck, him singing it to Creek was pure BULLSHIT!!!! have him face consequences!
Now sure, I understand that the tone is for children, but maybe they could acknowledge Branch’s issues, at the very least! That’s why I loved how in the episode ‘The Search For Piece’ Branch not only has his problem with relying mostly on himself addressed, but he also asks for the others to help him. It’s an amazing episode, in my opinion, especially with how he spirals and how his friends help him through that, and while they are upset at him, they understand where he is coming from. It has the right amount of angst and comfort and ACTUALLY HAS BRANCH DEALING WITH HIS ISSUES!!!!
Branch has dealt with so much for so many years, he was an outcast, shunned by the pop trolls and was in a negative state of mind for TWO DECADES!!!! As much as I love him being happy, his trauma isn’t going to go away if they keep ignoring them! Yes, they did acknowledge them in TBGO, but the show ends with Branch feeling like he has to change himself to fit in. He was going to blow up his Bunker, his safe space, just to fit in! He still has issues and they need to be addressed so that he could be more happier, to be in a more positive state of mind! While TBGO has its own issues, at least they acknowledge Branch’s struggles and not purely reduce him to being just a troll who is sarcastic and who fixes things!
TL;DR EXPAND OF BRANCHS STRUGGLES AND HAVE HIM TRY TO RESOLVE THEM!!!!

Moana 2 - Spoiler-review part 2
Part 2 of my spoiler review gets even more spoilery! Part 1 is here so you can keep up
However, I was game for the adventures and shenanigans anyways - I'm quite easy to please in that regard. I enjoyed myself during this movie and I loved seeing Moana and Maui reunite, but it happened SO LATE in the movie. (second half) How it happened though, I thought was quite beautiful. He sees the crew (doesn't ring a bell), Pua (doesn't ring a bell), then suddenly Heihei and only THEN does he realize Moana is there, in danger, and his entire demeanor entirely changes. There might not be a lot of character development but they did keep the characters in-character at least! And sometimes there are these character moments that really make you remember why you fell in love with them in the first place. The vulnerability Maui shows in regards to keeping Moana safe is - chef's kiss - sorry that's something I just gobble up as a shipper. I didn't mind the new characters either though… I will say this… Simea, while cute, is so obviously just a little toddler they put in the movie so they can market more merchandise towards other little toddlers, just like little Moana was a good merchandise hit back in 2016. Damn you Disney stop being so evil and obvious and making these characters so damn cute!
Of the three characters that join Moana's crew, I thought Moni was such a sweetheart - and I really chuckled a few times at David Fane's character Kele. There was a bit of character development throughout the movie for him. Just a tiny bit. So maybe there was some character development after all! But Moni and Loto remained kind of static, though they seemed like fine additions to the crew.
The "villain" (should I even call her that?)… meh. Kind of bland for me. She's… there. But vague. Eh… I don't even think I wanna write anything about her.
Oh, coming back to Maui not recognizing Pua… Maui also doesn't know Simea (as showcased at the very end when he goes to Motunui and asks to speak to Simea) - which means… Maui hasn't visited Motunui once in all those years? Oof. I mean I predicted it in a fanfic once but man I thought I was just being dramatic, not realistic. XD
Let's also talk about the elephant in the room… what on earth happened during the big battle? It's left a little ambiguous and this is where I get really really really spoilery as opposed to mildly spoilery before… So… Maui loses his… tattoos. Which, honestly, bit weird seeing Maui without tattoos it's like seeing him without clothes. XD It's like "PUT ON A SWEATER MAN" Did he become human, fully, for that moment? (Yeah, moment, he somehow gets the magic and stuff back) Then Moana "dies" - Maui sings a sad mourning song (ok honestly I was quite moved by all this and dear lord the emotion the animators put in there, good job on that) - then Moana… is revived by… by spirits? And now… she gets a magical tattoo??? SHE GETS… POWERS??? DEMI GOD MOANA?
I mean… my shipper brain kind of exploded cause like - hey - two demi-gods together? Oh yes, more for me to gobble up, yum yum yum. I love what that means for the future for the both of them.
And then, the entire movie is about uniting other people and suddenly there's like a bazillion boats out there of other people on the ocean? Very interesting, very interesting… There's certainly going to be adventures in the future.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to Moana 3 but dear lord don't make it a Disney + series OR if you do, DO NOT rework it in a movie when you realize there's some good stuff in there.
There is some good stuff in Moana 2 - don't get me wrong - but moving an animated series into your Thanksgiving movie is not great… Not great, Disney. Dedicate yourself to the success of Moana 1 (and Moana 2) and make Moana 3 on-par with Moana 1 again. I'll come and watch Moana 3 for sure, you haven't lost me as a viewer yet. But it better be given the respect it deserves as a franchise!

Seren's Studies: Odd Squad UK -- "A Dicey Situation" Episode Followup, Part 1
Tumblr media
Captain O origins episode! "Totally Odd Squad" Mk. II! Call it what you like, I'm just hoping this is good. After the hell that was "Mission O Possible", I like to be prepared. Almost anything could surpass that, really.
Let's dive in below the break! (Pun unintended.)
Tumblr media
...It's another Tasha episode.
I can hear that stupid "oh no" TikTok song playing as I fucking type this. I'm not confident after "The Triangle Sisters". I'm praying to Don't-Fuck-This-Up-God.
Tumblr media
Hey. Hey. You guys remember when Otis threw a fit because Rebecca was exploiting Odd Squad for moving services?
This is just as egregious and yet will go entirely undetected. You don't need two pseudo-government agents to pull up Google Maps and punch in the location of the nearest Aldi's, for God sakes.
Tumblr media
I see this milk came from the same cow that the Town Baker's milk came from.
I'd go investigate that cow, really.
Tumblr media
You guys also remember Otis giving therapy to a plant?
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS BUT IT'S MILK. And it's just as amusing here as it was there.
Tumblr media
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!"
Thank you, edutainment overlords, for this obligatory healthy eating message.
Tumblr media
Asshole cereal box is making up lies for himself, methinks. Dude just tipped over on his own the second his owner picked up the milk pitcher.
Tumblr media
hhhhheeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY THIS AIN'T MY SWAMPS 'N GATORS. WHERE'S MY SWAMPS 'N GATORS YOU CHUCKWADS.
...No but seriously what is this game and why does it look like Odd Squad Risk to me.
Tumblr media
I remember when there was a brief shot of Oona failing at chess and Oprah telling her that's not how the game is played.
That was fun.
This is fun too, and nice to see, but it doesn't hit the same.
Tumblr media
Good segue. Not as good as Oprah calling everyone out on their RPS strategies.
(You will see me make a lot of TOS cracks and references. I will not regret a single one of 'em.)
Tumblr media
Hot damn, she can dim the lights with her mind! That's craaaaaaaaaaaazeeeeeeeeeeeeee-
Tumblr media
So that would make her ship the Odd Squad Odd Squad.
Instead of Screw Steamer Odd Squad, or Steam Ship Odd Squad, both of which sound much better.
And are actually canon in the franchise.
(No, really. Go listen to the Squadcast. The S.S. Odd Squad is a 100% canon ship.)
Tumblr media
Honestly, if you had told me about a year ago that that sailor in that promo picture SSE put out was a chef named Osgood, I'd have laughed at you.
RIP to the days when I thought that sailor was an assistant of Captain O's and not her first mate.
Tumblr media
Ohhhh, a wavy flashback effect! Standard in a ton of shows, but Odd Squad has never really employed it as far as I'm aware. Nice to see they're going to effect basics!
Aside from that, wow that is...a tiny ship. Tinier than I was expecting. I was expecting something huge and not...y'know...a little BB thing.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, I just did an entire fuck-ass wheeze at her saying SHE KNEW OSGOOD SINCE NURSERY SCHOOL.
These two ARE FUCKING CHILDHOOD FRIENDS.
Genuinely fucking flabbergasted, because it's rare that we get childhood friends who were main characters in this franchise and joined Odd Squad together. Not even Olive and Otto can attest to that! Or Olympia and Otis!
Best bit in the entire episode so far bar nearly none.
Tumblr media
I mean...on the plus side, at least he only has two mouths to feed.
That being said, I will once again raise the issue of there being couch cushions in a ship like that.
Tumblr media
...Goldfish.
Huge-ass Goldfish.
You can't fool me.
They're Goldfish.
Tumblr media
If there is one thing I utterly despise about Captain O as a character, it's the stupid euphemisms.
They're not amusing. They're not funny. I've heard better from other characters.
Tumblr media
Okay, a shell phone is actually pretty clever. One point to Tasha, and don't make me revoke it as quickly as I did last time.
(Choosing to overlook the fact that there's an Admiral because...I mean...pretty standard sailor stuff. And me and other fans can work with the lore.)
Tumblr media
Definitely not the intent, but I can't stop reading this line as utterly sarcastic since Captain O did a hard aversion off the "Newhart Phone Call" cliff.
Tumblr media
"So this look isn't a fashion choice?"
Osgood, you poor Ohlm-like sonuvagun.
Tumblr media
No, sir, actually those are holes. They got depth to 'em. Swiss cheese is not made with polka dots.
Tumblr media
"See? You're a fashion trendsetter."
Ohhhhh it's like...the woman in "Double O Trouble"...but 's...fuckin' polka dots...
Great, I hate it, thanks.
Tumblr media
*squints*
*more*
*even more*
...Bitch that is a cluster of fucking trees. That is not an island. Now how and why would you spend pounds on a fucking CLUSTER OF TRE-
Tumblr media
THIS IS HOW THEY CHOOSE TO REMIND US THAT ORLI AND OZZIE ARE STILL HERE?????? WITH THE OBLIGATORY MATH LESSON?!?!?!?!?!?
Oh piss ALL the fuckin' way off.
Tumblr media
If this is gonna have a lesson at the end, like in "The Weight of the World Depends on Orla", I'm going to lose my fuckin' mind.
Because, for all that Season 3 sucks, that episode was actually pretty solid.
Tumblr media
it was just her and osgood
this guy shows up
not even the two canon characters from the odd squadcast they could've used
...I get it. You need someone to steer the ship. Fine. But for the love of God, just include the one driving the boat in your roll call!
I'm...I'm so tired. We are halfway into this episode. I am tired.
Tumblr media
I honestly can't be bothered to ask why this woman has a rotary phone and how the fuck it can get service out here where there would, in most other instances, be no phone lines. Or electricity. OR FUCKING SPEAKERPHONE.
I do like the pirate getup Dottie here has going on, though.
Tumblr media
Well, the last time a villain alleged to not have a pattern...they had a pattern.
I don't expect Dottie to be much different in that regard.
Tumblr media
ohhhhhh oodelallyoohdelally it's the chekhov's gun wheeeeeeeeeeeeee-
She spun in the chair for all of time, bored out of her wits.
(On to Part 2!)

Do you have top 10 or top 7 favorite (fictional) characters (if you feel like listing multiple) of all time from any media?
That is actually a very tricky question, dear Anon. For you see the list if my favourite characters is CONSTANTLY changing. Similar to my list of my favourite songs haha. So I cannot give you a set "All time Favourite” list but I can offer you a "List of Characters Tyriq enjoys at this very moment on the 18th of March 2024”
1) Nero Claudius from Fate/Extra, Fate/Last Encore, Fate/Extella and Fate/Grand Order
Tumblr media
The second I had first heard this woman say "umu” that was it for me. I knew I’d be obsessed with her for the rest of my days. She is adorable, she is loyal, she is THAT GIRL, a queen, an emperess, a goddess, and just seeing her instantly makes my brain pump out serotonin. Who even needs anti depressants when you can have Nero.
2) Vash the Stampede from Trigun Stampede
Tumblr media
Babygirl. Princess. Loserboy. Golden Retriever Puppy. Beloved Wife. He’s adorable, pathetic, a wonderfully tragic yet optimistic character. He’s my beautiful little princess and I lay my life down before him.
3)Yoimiya from Genshin Impact
Tumblr media
Her absolute happy go lucky attitude and sweet personality is like liquid gold shot straight into my arteries. I had fallen in love with this woman the very second I had laid eyes on her. Also she has been my main for two years at this point she’s genuinly just that fun to play.
4) Kaveh from Genshin Impact

The suffering artist trope CRANKED UP TO ELEVEN! Again like Vash this man is equally tragic as he is kindhearted and despite having been scammed out of his money multiple times he still cannot help but sacrifice his own well being if it would result in someone else’s happiness. Also before you ask: Yes, I do ship him and Alhaitham
5) Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza
Tumblr media
What else can I say about Ichiban other than he’s almost stupidly optimistic and no matter how hard of a curveball life throws at him, he ALWAYS keeps the attitude of "once you hit rock bottom the only way is up.”, always trying to both see and bring out the best in people. Also he’s a massive Dragon Quest fan so obviously I’d end up obsessing over this beautiful specimen of a man who at the age of 42 still is not 100% sure where women pee from.
6) Erik from Dragon Quest XI
Tumblr media
Honestly I could have EASILY put the entire main cast of Dragon Quest XI on this list because the characters of that game are simply that likeable and well written, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be your very first party member and the hero’s best friend and totally platonic roommate Erik. This man’s sassy attitude yet undying loyalty and devotion towards the hero is so strong not even the apocalypse itself could tear the hero and Erik apart for long.
7) Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5
Tumblr media
I think at this point y’all are starting to see a pattern in my favourite characters: Ryuji is loyal like a golden retriever puppy, absolutely adorable and sweet with a severe lack of Braincells.
8) Silver the Hedgehog from the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise
Tumblr media
Silver has literally been my favourite Sonic character since Childhood. His whole stick is that he’s unbeatable optimistic. Despite becoming from an apocalyptic future where everything is covered in flames, he never stops believing that things can become better if you try. His naivety however leads to characters like Mephilis abusing his optimism for their own agenda. But none of that stops Silver from
being one of my greatest comfort characters.
9) William James Moriarty from Moriarty the Patriot
Tumblr media
✨Be Gay. Do Crime✨
✨Communism✨
✨Clinical Depression✨
All these things and more describe William James Moriarty and he’s so valid for it.
10) The Professor from Puppet History
Tumblr media
He’s just a little guy. He’s a little guy and it’s his birthday
