There are so many good adamsapple Eden headcanons. I love them all. Literally every time I see them I just go "YES!!! FUCK YES!!!"

I think probably the first one I thought about was that Adam and Lucifer were friends before Lilith was even created. I know it's simple and basic but it is *so* good and opens doors for so many possibilities.

If I'm going more "realistic" (as much as adamsapple can get anyway) I like to think that there wasn't any romance between them. They just had a very cute relationship. Adam was alone in that garden except for Lucifer so he was the only one to really pay attention to him. They marveled over the Creation together. Lucifer specially marveled over Adam. He was so unique, so different from the rest of God's creation. He was almost like them, not quite as divine, but somehow that was even more fascinating. They would stare at each other, with a feeling in their stomach that neither of them quite understood, but they didn't need to.

Then Lilith came around and it was great for a bit! They had another friend to play! Apparently she was Adam's "wife", which was a weird concept for Adam at first, but he simply went along with whatever God said. But then things shifted, Lilith didn't seem as happy with him as he thought, Adam was just following God's instruction, he was doing his job, but Lilith was sick of Adam getting all the responsibility and the control, so she started hanging out less and less with him. For some reason, his other best friend, Lucifer, was showing up less and less too. Adam was so confused, and frustrated, and alone.

Until the ball finally dropped, and Adam saw Lilith and Lucifer doing the act that was supposed to be exclusive to him and Lilith. It was the first time betrayal entered Adam's life, but it would be far from the last. All the trust he had on both of them vanished. It was a surprise from both of them, but with Lilith you could argue Adam could see something was wrong, but Lucifer's... that one really stung.

All of that being said, I also really really love the headcanon that Adam and Lucifer DID have a one night stand, or just sexual attraction towards each other from the very beginning lol. Those make for some VERY awesome stories/art

New Ideas for HOTD Alicent Fashion pt.2

So technically the last one I did for Alicent was apart of a Rhaenyra one, but for continuity sake this is my second outfit redesign for a younger Queen Alicent Hightower.

The dress in question we’re changing is one that will be changed in both scenes it’s worn. One will be a new dress entirely but the other will be just mentally recreating it to look more like the concept art.

The scenes are the dismissal of her father as Hand & The confrontation between she and Rhaenyra about the rumor that had her father dismissed:

I actually love this❤️❤️❤️ it’s just missing a little something, so when comparing these two pics:

If you notice these look exactly the same, except the black is darker, perhaps a velvet, the gold embroidery is more in the form of a design and brighter. The necklace is also more regal looking, bigger than the ones we saw her wear in her girlhood as a noble Lady. Those are the things they should’ve kept for the design of the dress in this scene, she’d look more like an actual Targaryen royal of the time. No offense but the dress that made the cut is kinda bland in tone.

The hair as well, she went for a jeweled hairnet to back to her girlhood hairstyles, precisely why I wish they would’ve kept the braided jeweled crown. It makes her seem more mature (despite her not being but jewelry can be a mask just as much as makeup sometimes) and more royal. She could even still keep it in this half held up hairdo just with the jeweled braided crown/twist added into it:

And the last thing about it the to want to say, the cape would’ve been awesome to see and it would’ve fit the scene. It was raining and she had a man carrying an umbrella for her, I think she’d have that cool ass cape too. Again makes her look more regal, more queen like, more mature.

The next time she wears it that I’d like to change, when she confronted Rhaenyra. A tense scene.

However at this point in time is when she is the most conflicted between her marriage to her husband and her “duty” to her house. I feel she’d reflect that in a representation of both houses. More so red, almost as if adding green was an afterthought, bc I rather think it would be a last minute decision for Alicent to add a green sash or piece of fabric to her usually Targaryen adoption in appearance. A way to feel close to her father by wearing the colors of the house she was born from (just like I headcanon she wore blue as a child to feel close to her mother; Helena Cuy, look it up where I go on a whole rant).

That in mind, imagine something similar to this:

The green being held in place at her neck, Targaryen dragon scales but in gold (perhaps a subtle nod toward Sunfyre/Aegon), it comes to wrap around her waist like a belt, tied at one side the remainder of the green fabric falls free on her left side of her hips down side by side the red dress. Also from the neckline, a half cape of green coming to cover her right side, thin gold chains reaching out from the neckline to hide beneath the half cape.

The red dress underneath would suit the summer climate/warmer climate of the time in the Red Keep, it’s just the right shade of Targaryen red, not to mention the red dress isn’t what really makes the dress but really what is meant to catch ur eye is that she’s wearing green for the first time in a long time. It meant to be hinting at her internal battles. Ofc her cleavage wouldn’t be exposed as depicted so it’s have a higher neckline, perhaps some simple gold and/or black embroidery to enhance it a bit.

Her hair would be something else to consider, thinking back to how we want it to be more mature and queen like. So perhaps a head peace or a jeweled net?

A mixture of these two would suffice:

The first picture is my favorite one and the main inspo for how I’d have done her hair, the pearls, the way her hair is twisted at the top with her bun being kept nice and beautiful in a net. The only thing I’d add from the second photo is the gold lace around the edges of the net, as well as the braid surrounding that as a whole. I’d also take the bands and add them loosely to the bottom part of her hair left down.

As for jewelry, they could’ve taken inspo from actual royal jewels. Something like this for Alicent:

Like I said the look starting originally as her traditional Targaryen Queen attire, with her Hightower symbolism added as an afterthought. Some small pearls could be added between diamond to go more with the pearls in her hair (although I think I might see some pearls in there but I might be dumb).

As for the earrings they could be something like this:

Again incorporating pearls into them or straight up replacing the diamonds entirely.

It’s just Queenly. It’s appeasing to the eyes. And it’s what I expect people to design royal fashion as to look like in period/historical dramas when you’ve proven yourself not concerned with accuracy or if it is a style fantasy gown.

Why I think Luisa is more on the masculine side if you’re interested in reading:

First of all, I’d like to say like you can interpret her however you’d like. I think you could argue for her being more femme (although not as easily imo).

1. Luisa’s whole arc is about her being emotionally neglected. Thought of as strong and therefore emotionally stable. This is such a common issue with masculine personalities, as we tend to assume they don’t need emotional support like their feminine counterparts. On top of having those muscles, her less-than-bubbly/effeminate demeanor leads many to assume she doesn’t have sensitivities, when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

2. Luisa’s design… many call her girly because she wears a dress, which I find really shallow. She seems to express masculinity in her own special way that doesn’t need to involve clothes. And if you compare her dress to the others, it’s a lot less frilly and feminine anyways! She’s a very practical, simple dresser. She ties her hair back in a tight bun to get it out of the way, her dress is a bit shorter than the others so she can run and be active, and she even wears pants under her skirt. A lot of her concepts wore pants as well! Her outfit is so regal, yet humble and practical. Even the little embroidery on her shirt and dress are very angular and boxy. Watching the way she talks and walks, she’s very blunt, hands-on, and down-to-earth. It’s simply her demeanor that conveys so much, she acts with a masculine energy.

3. The biggest arguing point for her femininity is when her song slows down and she’s floating in the clouds with a donkey unicorn. This scene feels intentionally silly and playful, but it also shows a window into her mind. What about cute animals and pretty colors is inherently feminine? Why does softness and joy have to be strictly anti-masculine? She doesn’t style herself or express herself in this way, but she does seem to desire to be surrounded by it.

This leads me to why I really believe she is in love with softness and femininity. She adores and admires it. She wishes to surround herself with it and it makes her happy. That’s mainly what I got from the cloud scene, frankly.

4. One last point I’d like to mention is many people seem to think she is like a reverse Isabela, where she really dislikes her current role in helping others and being the rock of the family, while dreaming to be treated as helpless and coddled.

There’s absolutely nothing in the story that even alludes to that. In fact, she seems to love being strong, capable, and dependable. It’s when she’s being taken advantage of and has no time to rest is when she feels neglected and exhausted.

Luisa WANTS to be the hero. She wants to be the knight in shining armor for her family… she just wants to be treated like a human being too.

Cal Lucia plays Fire Emblem Path of Radiance: Closing Thoughts

Right then! Yesterday I finally beat Path of Radiance, after starting it. . . oh boy, about half a year ago. Mind you, not because I didn't like the game, but because for any Fire Emblem game I usually just need to sit down and take my time, which was not at all helped by me having to take a break because I was on holiday.

Anyway, full thoughts are gonna be under the break, short version is: loved it a lot, story-wise a rather standard Fire Emblem game that put a very nice amount of depth and thought into story beats that normally don't really get questioned any further; gameplay didn't stand out compared to the GBA FE games but had some very nice caveats.

I think I'll just start off with the gameplay, because I think I should be able to get through that one quicker.

In retrospect, the gameplay overall was remarkably similar to that of the GBA titles, with very little to set it apart. Which is not a bad thing, mind you! And the presentation was still distinct and nice. But the things that did set it apart were really nice. Almost everyone having the ability to shove, master seals being basically unnecessary since characters just automatically promote upon levelling up after level 20 and the whole bonus experience system were very much appreciated, and it's honestly a shame that these two games are the only ones that have them. Mounted units having the ability to still move after attacking I could take or leave, though it often got very annoying with enemies. What did really bother me though was just how absurdly long it took in the beginning of the game before the concept of the convoy was introduced. I had to toss a lot of weapons because a unit's inventory was already full. And speaking of that, what also really kinda bothered me was how you couldn't access the convey during battle, since I don't really think it adds to much to strategizing. Oh, and then there was the whole "objectives for bonus experience are always secret" thing. Fine and all if it's just a map where you just have to clear things quickly, and most of the time these objectives are obvious enough, but some actual clarity would've been much preferred. Mages having seperate weapon ranks for all types of magic meanwhile was just plain stupid. I think at the end of the game my Soren only had a B rank as his highest one, even though he was the only mage I used.

Now, for the story! Early-game, I really did love the whole family-like dynamics of Greil's mercenaries, and how Greil himself interacted with them all. I can easily see why people are so attached to this group in particular. That whole sense got a bit lost as things went along and the cast got way bigger though, which is a big shame. Base conversations really could have done a lot to alleviate that, but I think for the last ten chapters or so I didn't really see anyone out of Boyd, Oscar, Rolf, Rhys, Shinon or Gartrie. Speaking of base conversations, though! Those were a really cool concept. Games like Three Houses of course had something similar going on with you being able to talk to people in the monastery between battles, but that really felt rather tedious, plus. . . Byleth isn't really the best person to bounce off of. Base conversations on the other hand are really cool in the sense that they helped characterize Ike, but sometimes also showed interactions that went beyond just the character that was shown in the menu. Much like bonus experience, that's something that I'd really love to see in another Fire Emblem game. As for the story overall - like I said in the short version up at the top, the whole story did rather feel like a straightforward Fire Emblem plot at face value. Like, Evil Kingdom™ invades Good Kingdom™, rightful heir to the throne escapes, and has to fight ~25+ strategic turn-based battles in order to reclaim it. But the way it presented itself really did add a whole lot of nuance to the simple setup. The lord is a commoner, not everybody instantly rallies behind Elincia right away, and on seemingly every step along the way you get characters behaving as if the writers asked "yeah okay, but what would actually happen in that situation?". Maybe this felt kind of heavy-handed at times, but I usually enjoyed it - even if it often felt like it was specifically Soren who was the mouthpiece for this sort of thing. It helped add to his characterization, though. Since I mentioned Soren, though: I am somewhat curious just how intentional the common fan interpretations of Ike as gay and autistic were on the side of the writers. Of course it doesn't really matter at the end of the day cause death of the author and all that, but I still can't help but to wonder if the writers really did intend for this without spelling it out. Maybe I'll look into them once I'm done with Radiant Dawn as well. As for the cast overall, I honestly didn't really find any character that I didn't like. Like, sure, Makalov was a shitty person, but he was at least funny that way, and it made Marcia far more interesting as well. From the moment that I had to pick and chose who I bring along for any given map, I always struggled since I had a legitimately hard time picking. I really might just have to read up on all the supports that I couldn't get here. As for some of my favs, there'd be Lucia (as I am contractually obligated to say but also I just thought that she had a banger design and was really cool), Nephenee, Elincia, Ike, Soren, Titania, Mist, Jill. . . and I better just cut it off here, because otherwise I'll just list way too much of the cast. Amazing character designs, too! Not quite sure yet if these are my favs in all of Fire Emblem since Shadows of Valentia and Three Houses has some bangers as well, but it's easily up there. Last thing that comes to mind right now, the music. . . yeeaaah, that really wasn't it. The soundtrack overall was passable, but it really just pales in the stuff you get from the 3DS titles onwards. Say what you will about a game like Fates, but it has a banger soundtrack. For Path of Radiance on the other hand, the only track that really sticks out to me is this ass-trumpet music for Daien, and that's not for good reasons. The final map didn't even have its own theme! And I guess I gotta wrap up here cause tumblr doesn't like the post getting any longer.

Happy Halloween 2023!

This is something long overdue. Even though I stopped posting my commissions on here that doesn't mean I've stopped getting them!

I've especially enjoyed getting Halloween commissions because those are really fun to conceive, order, and see made into reality. I've especially enjoyed getting them from Aeolus06 and he's never disappointed. Sadly due to me being between jobs I couldn't get any this year. :( That said I've decided to use this as an opportunity to show what I've got over the last few years and hopefully you'll love them as much as I do! :)

These first four are unique in that these were all from the same year (2020 to be exact). Since Aeo has a cool down period between commissions, I actually got these all done over a period of a few months. XD Took a lot of luck and prayer, but I got all the ideas I wanted done!

First one was probably the most complex, but was worth it because of how well it fit. Star, Marco, and Hekapoo from Star vs The Forces of Evil as AndrAIa, Matrix, and Older!AndrAIa from Reboot! Much like Matrix, Marco had a bit of age jumping that fit naturally (especially body types and eye scars). Plus Star and Hekapoo are shipped pretty hard with him so it was natural they dress as the different versions of Matrix's lady love.

Also, Fun Fact: Marco's scar/prosthetic eye is on the wrong side compared to his costume, but I felt it was better to ignore it than have Aeo flip the entire costume. XD

Next up we had some classic hotties from Canada, Lindsay and Courtney. Everyone with a pulse will know I'm a Courtney fan, so I'm always eager to give her some love. And while I'm not AS big on Lindsay, she's a fun character and I have some friends who love her too so I didn't mind them sharing the spotlight.

Obviously the theme/inspiration behind this pics conception is the fact Lindsay and Courtney pack the biggest T and A on the island respectively, so they needed some costumes to illustrate that. Thus we got Courtney as everyone's fave lady wrestler Rainbow Mika from Street Fighter and Lindsay as the boxing cheerleader Tiffany Lords from Rival Schools. Both ladies who kick ass and look good doing it! Give these ladies some love folks!

Another Fun Fact: This one took faster to do than I expected, mostly cause I didn't realize my refs were thigh high. In the end I feel it still looked good and didn't bother bringing it up. XD

Here's another cute couple and one I think deserves more love. Eclipsa Butterfly and Globgor are also from SVTFOE and honestly very sweet and adorable. While they're regarded as evil by less tolerant folk, they're honestly some of the sweetest characters you'll see on the show. I feel this is a nice contrast to their costumes, Sindel and Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat. I went with the MK9 versions of their outfits since they were both modern and simple. Didn't wanna be THAT guy who commissions SUPER complicated outfits. I'm not a sadist! While later games would retcon Sindel into being just as evil as Shao (something thankfully corrected in MK1) I still feel this outfit and character works for Eclipsa, even if she and her hubby are as far from evil as you can get. XD

Final pic of this year is another couples pic with Danny Fenton and Paulina Sanchez. I ship these two and take no shame in it. This was originally gonna just be Paulina as Phantom Girl from Legion of Superheroes since the name and colors matched Danny perfectly. But then I figured just having Paulina in costume wouldn't be fair, so I had him dress up as Timberwolf, since I recall them having a few moments in the cartoon. A cartoon, much like this pairing, is very underrated. XD

Now to 2021! This was a fun crossover and and me deciding to avoid "themes" and combining two character pin-ups in one! Once again we have Hekapoo and this year she's dressed up as Otedamako. Who's that? Only my fave Monster of the Day from Sailor Moon! :3 To her side with have a humanoid Rarity showing off her darkside as Martha from Helluva Boss! This one came from the animated opening in G5 that had Rarity showing off some spiky teeth and a crazy look in her eyes. IMMEDIATELY brought Martha too mind. All and all, very happy with how these two came out!

And now to the prior year of 2022. By this point Aeo started coloring the stream commissions and honestly, it was worth the price increase. Dude is a machine! If this one has a theme it's basically me taking the waifus of my close friends (Chill, Terrible, and Raccoon) and dressing them as other sexy waifus. From left to right we have Himiko Toga from My Hero Academia dressed as Harlequin, the Harley Quinn of the Gods and Monsters film. A very hot/underrated design for a VERY twisted take on the character. Toga makes it work! Well that's everything I wanted to share this year! This has been a rough year for me personally and for the world as a whole. But I'm hoping we can turn things around a bit with what bit of the year we have left.

Whump Drabble: Conditioning

I was thinking about this one all last night. So like conditioning. I occasionally see it within the whump community, but it's still heavily on my mind and I feel I have something to add over it.

Conditioning is a term primarily used for animals, especially with the concepts of shock collars, where a dog become conditioned to not leave the yard because they expected to be shocked even if they no longer have the collar. Unfortunately for the complexity that is the human brain, humans can be conditioned too, and history/science has shown it.

Fortunately for us whump writers that the kind of human biology that interests us! So...conditioning in whump.

Of course I have another against the classic conditioning through electrical shock trope. I see it a good bit in the whump community, and it's great. Whumpees adamant against something, even though there is actually no threat. You have caretaker desperately trying to undo someone else's past work, and whumpers who don't have to lift a finger to get whumpee to listen to them anymore.

(Even greater if a defiant whumpee returns with this trait)

However conditioning isn't just through punishment, nor does it have to be classic electric shock. It could also be through awarding >:3

Imagine caretaker having to use the awarding system whumper set up, just so that they themselves could help break the system whumpee has been caught up in. Imagine whumpee relaxing at the activation of the award, compared to seizing up at the notion of punishment.

Whumpee being none the wiser about their own conditioning, thinking themselves crazy when something as simple as a static shock sends them into a spiral. Imagine the embarrassment of a leader whumpee, or a stoic whumpee (or both, both is good), when they burst into a frantic mess in front of their own team, and they don't even know me.

Whumper utilizing both awards and punishments to get whumpee to be exactly how they want them, then once their free everything good whumper showered them in as awards are ruined for whumpee. Caretaker is having quite the struggle to get whumpee to enjoy anything.

Conditioning whumpee to sounds and not just sparks of electricity. Awarding whumpee with sugar, or warmth, or physical touch. Whump with conditioning

Before we talk more about Zelda herself, I'd like to briefly address a bit more about Rauru, and more specifically about the sages.

OK, so leaving aside the whole bit about the Secret Stones, that... oath that the sages swore was CREEPY. These people are the leaders of their races, and they swear to "serve Rauru" on their lives. Looking at it from that angle, I can't help but see why so many people are creeped out by this.

Also, the fact that it doesn't sound like Zelda is saying the oath also has implications.

Saying that this oath is the equivalent of "selling their peoples into slavery" is definitely overkill, but I can still see the problem here.

The rendition of the oath said by the present-day sages in the post credit scene is far less creepy; they swear to "support Princess Zelda", not serve her, and "safeguard the land of Hyrule", which applies to their entire world. Overall it's a much less cultish feeling oath.

But yeah, I think that moment in particular is a lot of the evidence that people use to say Rauru is an imperialist.

First I just want to thank you for continuing to ask me my opinions and I appreciate your honesty about what you believe and let me tell you that you don’t need to berate yourself for your thoughts nor do you have to apologize— the story is yours to interpret! I just like to take the purely canonical route and use in game context to make my own interpretations.

So, this vow is made moments after it’s revealed that the last free town in Gerudo has been taken. And Rauru claiming he is the only one who can defeat Ganondorf, as he is the one who holds the power of light. You know, the thing that we all know is what will defeat Ganon? Light power. Light is meant to symbolize hope, rebirth, justice, and a pure soul.

I’m not talking out of my ass here either. Link himself is described as “light” by Zelda. He is the light that must shine upon Hyrule once again. He carries the sword that seals the darkness, which is imbued in a heavenly light.

Light versus darkness… Rauru versus Ganondorf.

So the sages vowing themselves to Rauru is essentially vowing themselves to the cause of freeing Hyrule from this impending darkness and creating a unified assault.

Zelda not saying anything is very simple.

She already HAS a secret stone. She didn’t have to go through a ceremony when she has already voiced her want to help Hyrule. The stone chose her, essentially. No vows have to be made to misuse the stones in the same way Ganondorf is doing it to gain power and spread destruction.

It’s like pointing out Link doesn’t say anything at the end of the game where all the sages vow to Zelda to support her and protect Hyrule. As we know, Link does talk and often at this point. But no words have to be spoken.

He has already made a vow and has continuously upholded it. Zelda knows that Link will forever be by her side, supporting her and believing in her. Why? Because she does the same with him and it’s a basis of their relationship. It’s already known.

Besides, the vow is a way to solidify the sage’s power through their people. It’s a way to ensure that their people will fight for what it right and good, to aid Link in his battle against Ganondorf.

I think a lot of people like to interpret monarchies as a imperialist concept and while, yes, monarchies should be looked upon in media, not all are imperial representations. The kingdom of Hyrule and the Zelda series at large is all about good versus evil, light versus dark, wisdom and courage over brute force power.

If people want to look at Ganondorf and his character as a “lesser evil” compared to a big bad Hyrulian monarchy, they can but it isn’t supported by the media itself. In fact, it’s a warped interpretation that goes against all of the game’s and series context that makes it ‘plausible’

They should look at Wind Waker Ganondorf who truly wanted something good but went about it in the wrong way. He wanted to force an abrupt change (aka power) but he lacked the wisdom to realize the catastrophe awaiting that choice and the courage to explore other routes that would take time to achieve his goal.

Ganondorf is a character that I could go on for ages about his role in Hyrule’s history and why he is an essential part in its overall growth and rebirth age after age. But his role is detrimental if it isn’t accompanied by the presence of the hero and the Princess who holds the blood of a goddess.

hello!!! can you do a starfruit x pomegranate fanchild? it's okay if you can't. ty!!!

I just realized last night that I never actually posted Miracle Fruit over here, my bad. She’s probably been done for like a month now, I just forgot that I never posted her

Anyways, so her original name was Star Apple, since they’re round like pomegranates, have a star shape in the middle, sort of like starfruit but also not, and they’re purple while Pomegranate is mostly red and Starfruit has a lot of blues. But I was struggling with how to incorporate the star apples without her looking goofy so I shelved her. Then later I discovered miracle fruits and was like “you know what, I can see Pomegranate and Starfruit naming their kid that”. And also they’re red and round like pomegranates I guess

Putting this down now, star apples does seem like the better choice, but whatever, I chose Miracle Fruit and I like her. Maybe I can make her a star apple sibling down the road

Miracle fruit:

Okay so first off, that thing on her head is supposed to be a headband, based on Starfruit’s apprentice priests, but it looks more like a hat. I added that hair bit on top to clarify more that it’s a headband, but it still looks like a hat

Anyways, so as you can see I took some liberties with Miracle Fruit’s design compared to her parents. Her eyes are more open and circular and she has the cheek blush because she’s supposed to be a kid, and I thought that was one way to portray it. I made her eyes black because of the black seeds of miracle fruit, and also because the blue eyes didn’t really fit Miracle Fruit’s color scheme, while I didn’t want to give her red eyes because she already had so much red on her design (by the final product I had toned down the red considerably, replacing it with the blue). And I was told the black eyes looked the best, so here we are. Maybe I took too many liberties with her design, I don’t know

I wanted to give her a simple dress, since she’s a young…priestess I think, and then I added the patterns so she doesn’t look too plain. I feel like the outfit she’s wearing looks like from something I’ve seen, but I don’t know, I just based the design off of open miracle fruits. I think the dress looked better in the sketch though

Her necklace was another homage to miracle fruits. Originally in the Star Apple design, she had a head chain (I think they’re called?), like Pomegranate and Starfruit, but I decided giving her a necklace would be better

Anyways yeah, that’s Miracle Fruit’s design, not too much to say really

So as for her character, I don’t have much on that end either. I figured she’d be a priestess from the same place as Starfruit, assuming that Pomegranate reformed and went back to Starfruit, I don’t imagine Miracle Fruit would be learning the dark arts or anything, nor would she be around Pomegranate Village much

Though I will say, her concept at the top makes her look more like an alchemist to me. Hmm, maybe I should have done that instead

Well anyways, so she’s learning to be a priestess, and she has some impressive psychic powers, being incredibly gifted. Though there is also a strange oddness to her powers, one that no one’s entirely sure how to explain

I imagine her to be a small, quiet child, just walking around the halls. If she speaks, she probably has a pretty quiet voice

But uh yeah, that’s her. To be honest the things I had of her might have been forgotten over the month or so, so that can explain the somewhat lacking info section. But regardless I hope you like her!

Trying to craft jokes like Rodney Dangerfield used to do is just a really fun writing challenge for me. Like, his material is quite tricky to write anyway, but I have added a further challenge to make the jokes queer and avoid or minimize self deprication. So for a lot of them I have his pacing down but they're longer than I'd like.

But so the basic formula is one sentence should frame the landscape, the background, the situation as it were; and then the next sentence is the punchline. Ever so often there's three sentences, with a middle sentence bridging the set-up and punchline, but that's about the max. My attempts often go to four or five sentences, which is too long when you compare it to a guy who could just punch out like four or five jokes a minute. There's so many so fast it looks easy but especially trying to make them queer specific it take a lot of work to hone them.

Like, the first thing I think most people get wrong is trying to play the frame to a too specific audience. It's like okay, it works for memes online, but when I'm framing one of my RD type jokes I'm trying to imagine what an offline audience in Nebraska or Ohio might be familiar with. Thankfully there's much more trans awareness, but not enough to always reliably throw complicated queer ideas in two lines, so you keep the broad concepts really simple. My wife, my dad, my job, my doctor, etc. These are all pretty reliable touchstones for people who aren't always going to process my nonbinary asexual wife and my relationship and the whole complex polyamory thing.

It's all about compacting information to its minimal possible state of compression, trying to cut away every last scrap of extraneous detail. Every single thing to understand the punchline should be in the first sentence, which somehow also needs to be the verbal equivalent of brightly colored preschool shapes.

Once all that information is delivered, the follow through has to transform it into something different, but which carries the ideas of the framework forward in a logical way. The first step ideally makes people paint a picture of their own version of Dad or Doctor or Wife. With Rodney Dangerfield, the second step usually involved dropping himself in as a loser getting dumped on. Like "I went to the doctor and he said I was overweight. I said I wanted a second opinion so he said fine, you're also ugly." It's a classic but not really the vibe I want, but also fortunately being a trans queerdo gives me something entertainingly contrary to the familiar ideas in the set up. Like "geeze Dad I thought you'd be upset I'm trans. Well I wish you'd been a lawyer but as long as you're happy." That's a cute gag that needs a little extra framing up front but ultimately plays on many ideas broadly familiar to a wide audience while generating a pretty amusing bit of absurdity for a laugh (being a lawyer isn't the same as being a gender, funny!).

Anyway, it's just a really exciting process for me to get a kind of shitpost idea, but then workshop it into one of those one-two punch jokes. Some of them need a little more fine tuning, but they're all much more carefully crafted than meets the eye. A bit like the haiku, the formula is simple, but learning how to build it takes work.

i'm gonna gon on abt his species first cuz ........

i half jokingly refer to red as a "walking content warning" cuz he has a SUPER BAD home life. i made him to cope over 10 years ago, now, so he has a looong history of being used to get through my childhood and as such, his backstory is insane.

all you'd need to really know abt his backstory is like...

His father is a super shit person, his mother is basically missing but she was also not good in her own weird way, he has a sister he rarely speaks to because he's stuck at home and doesn't know how to leave, and he has a brother (red is the youngest) who is stuck in a baby's body and is usually being cared for by his sister (lore below explains why he's like that).

red lives primarily alone as his father is usually not home anymore, and he hates being a vampire or hurting people, and gets suuuper awkward around any pop culture vampire talk which is think is funny.

so red's vampiric species is very simple compared to human made vampiric lore and a lot of things are considered misconceptions, or things that could be attributed to *other* vampiric species that were blanketly attached to the concept of "vampire" by humans who are largely uneducated on them (and tbf most vampiric species aren't super knowledgeable abt each other either in my verse).

their primary biological traits aaare:

they are cold like normal vampire lore, and have fangs (retractable but doesn't need to be extended usually), and will often have very light coloured eyes. they can easily die due to illnesses that normally don't kill humans because of their lower body temp, to blood loss, and can only really be called immortal due to not dying of old age.

they also have a "starvation mode" where if they've been without food for too long, will become animalistic in nature and hunt humans. Red's hair turns near-black and his eyes become red when he is in this mode. they gain incredible strength and even heat vision to hunt down humans so they don't perish. after eating a meal (usually they do it with little care for the person's well-being while like this) they will revert back to their normal selves and have little memory of what happened during this state. although the state itself can store basic memories to help hunt later (such as if certain places are dangerous last time they went there, or if they got attacked for one reason or another). this separation of memories isn't meant to be an allegory for systems btw so i hope no one is thinking that i'm doing that!! ;__;;b!

these vampires start off looking and eating like normal humans, but eventually something within them hits a timer and they turn vampiric naturally (they can convert humans if humans drink their blood though). the process can be seen coming as their appetite lowers and they become a bit sluggish and lower body temp before the process kicks in full swing and they painfully turn to a vampire. after that, their body stops aging.

this specific species of vampires are meant to co-exist with humans and live along side them. humans provide a source of food, and the vampires can help provide protection and even mingle well socially. the vampire species can breed with humans and human-vampire babies on average will usually turn vampiric later in adulthood, but vampire-vampire children (especially vampires with little human lineage) tend to turn too quickly.

his vampiric species was doing well within small human communities and living how they're supposed to, before humans from far away locations came, saw the vampires and how they fed off of humans, and drove them away. plenty of vampires lost their lives to this invasion, and the other humans were too easily switched over to an aggressive mob mentality towards them, so they were forced to live isolated and prey on humans in the dark. it's def possible not all of them turned against vampires, but it was too dangerous for them to stay.

Red was born around the time this happened (he's abt 2000 yo usually)........

during the time humans and vampires slowly started to be reintroduced to each other, vampiric based pop culture started to become popular in human societies so the vampires weren't too keen on the whole, slay vampires thing media was doing a lot of. because of the focus on vampires as a pop culture thing, humans started applying a lot of concepts to them on a broad scale (unable to be in the sun, garlic allergy, etc). red typically only went into human cities or villages out of curiosity, but was terrified of saying anything to them in case he was found out (esp seeing as the whole.. kill vampire thing was a popular thing in media.......)

a lot of these ideas were applied due to sightings or findings of vampiric persons by humans, but were individualistic traits that were then applied to all vampires (my fav is like, the garlic thing straight up just being one guy's allergy). (the bat turning thing is not possible for red's species of vampires, but it is possible for a fey vampire combo species that dwell in the forest. they are shapeshifters that shift between an animal/furry form and a human form).

red's species, originally being a pretty small group in a small area, has a long history of vampires taking leadership positions and even being strict about their culture and stances on interaction between them and humans (especially after the drive to exterminate them, they developed a lot of strict rules to protect their kind and youth). red's father is part of these leaders, and red was supposed to be the heir as he's the only one who turned late enough to be an actual adult, but because of his pacifist nature and generally meek demeanour he was already on his father's bad side growing up.

the day of his turning was to be held with the other leader dudes, but when provided a person to have as his first meal, he refused to hurt them and was quickly labelled a disgrace and no longer allowed to be the heir.

red's father, and plenty of the other old guys appointed leader of the species, typically regard humans as nothing more than food things and to not be considered with compassion and especially not to be mingled with. red has made a number of human friends over the centuries but learned pretty fast to make sure his dad never. ever. finds out he has them.

despite the seemingly strict ruling on their vampiric society, a lot of young vampires (and especially those from turned humans) have a large disconnect from them and usually just know they exist and have these rules, but it's not like they can do anything about their spread out community doing what they want.

my favourite part of the modern age for them is that they have a vampiric social media and the only way to be able to sign up is to be vetted by a confirmed vampire of their species. they have their own memes and whatnot, and my fav one is "the vlad". the lovingly chosen name for the human stereotype of a vampire. a lot of them use it mockingly, but there's a tonne of them who also genuinely love the vlad and make groups for being fans of it. count chocula gets posted every halloween, ofc.

red isn't super active on vampiric facebook but he is signed up. he's not good at the whole technology thing in general, but he is aware of the vlad and will often mutter "a vlad..." when he sees one, mystified.

one time a guy who was signed up was found out not to be an actual vampire and it sent the community into a frenzy cuz how tf did they get on the site when it's so strict. it instantly became a classic meme for them, the one time a vampire kinnie joined somehow (obviously im not mocking kins, i am also a kinnie). they only found out cuz the guy actually confessed and was quickly banned. no one knows who vetted them, either.

Minnie I've fully begun to believe in the concept of misery loves company. So many of the people who are being horrible about Chris are just being so because they are miserable and want to spread it around and Chris is the device they are using to do so.

Whether it's his job, the his interviews his social media presence...nothing he does will ever be good enough for these people. It's the same for Sebastian but because Chris is a bit more well known than Sebastian in the general public you see more of it with him. And so many people are now using Sebastian as a way to compare Chris and when you look at their post history you'll see that they're not even seb fans because they didn't know anything about him before last year. They just want to be miserable about Chris and Seb was a convenient stick to hit him with. Majority of Seb fans that I've seen have pushed back on that narrative because we know that those two are friends and will support one another.

I don't know if anyone said makes any sense or not...I just wanted to vent a bit because this has been building the last few months and your blog has always been a safe space for me.

Hi sweetie 💙 Yeah, that does seem to be the case, doesn't it? I have to say, I have absolutely no clue why anyone would want to spread more misery, especially when there are more things to be miserable about right now than ever. Willfully taking out your own misery on others, whether it's people close to you or people you've never even met, including celebrities, is shameful behaviour as far as I'm concerned. Why not look for ways to make yourself and others feel less miserable instead? Try and find ways to make a positive difference, whether it's through activism or a simple act of kindness or by spreading joy through creativity or community.

Anyway. I don't get it, and I hopefully never will, but yeah, the truth is that a lot of people seem to want to hate on Chris for some reason, and I think that's really sad. There are plenty of people out there so much more deserving of your ire. Chris is a good guy, just quietly living his life and doing his job - hardly a capital sin, if you ask me. I'm glad to hear the majority of real Seb fans are pushing back against that ridiculous tendency of comparing the two of them to paint Chris in a negative light. I guess that's all we can do, in addition to spreading the Chris love, and using that block button the way it was intended!

I blocked a whole bunch of people yesterday for being unnecessarily mean towards Chris in the notes on one of my own posts, which is just absolutely incomprehensible behaviour to me. If you have to be mean, go do it on your own posts, jesus hrist. Talking shit about Chris is a surefire way to get yourself blocked by me, it ticks me off so bad.

Did I have much better ideas for the art today compared to yesterday? Nope! But we are closing in on the final countdown and after a very busy last week, I opted for the path of least resistance. 🫠

This description is going to be short and sweet tonight Sparklers; Yes partially due to time constraints (what else is new?), but also because I'm reasonably sure I don't have that much to say about this one. 😅

Because I really had just the two main ideas which are probably obvious:

What seems to be a fairly common shape (or maybe a slight amalgamation of the shapes I was seeing) when I searched the word "Gorget" to see specific examples

A bird with a brightly colored throat. It's kind of crane-inspired, but isn't based on any one particular kind of bird. Partly because i just could not be bothered to look up a bunch of different birds to pick one, but also because I did have a kind of pose/impression in mind and I thought it would be easier to just squish typical bird elements together to fit what I had in mind.

And considering I don't draw birds in general very often, I think I did reasonably well! 🙂

Everything else really was just whatever I could think of that felt like reasonable filler. If I think about it too hard, I can see how the whole design here might come off as a little boring compared to some of the others, but at the very least I am happier with it than Day 17, the other one involving a bird.

As I said at the time, I do like the inidivudal elements for Day 17, it's the whole package that doesn't do it for me. This time around, it may not be as exciting as some of the others, but at least I do think the total package still looks pretty good, even if it is a bit plain.

The colors were also very simple; I stuck mostly to metal colors—and silver in particular, naturally—for the "armor" part of the definition, but fire truck red felt necessary for the bird's throat...Especially since the bird and its neck did come out considerably smaller than I anticipated. 😅

But even if it is a bit small, I am quite pleased with the decision to put the bird on the "gorgets." There weren't a ton, but I did see a few examples pop up of gorgets that had designs etched kind of in the center like this.

In fact, I very nearly did white lines for this one, but I ended up sticking with black because I was worried it might come out a little too much like Day 16 with the white.

And in some ways maybe this one did still come out a little more like Day 16 than I necessarily intended, but I do think they're still different enough that it doesn't really bother me, either.

So. Is it my best? Probably not. However, I think it's safe to say I'm at least satisfied with it. I do appreciate that this one has a little more to do with the prompt than yesterday's did, which is nice. And I do like how the bird came out more than I thought I would.

...See? I thought this one would be pretty short! I could keep going, but I'd really just be repeating myself, and I think I do that enough as is. 🙃

Hopefully, cross-posting will be just as short and sweet. As always, I doubt it, but I will hope for the best anyway! 🤞

A Game of Cat and Mouse 🌹

... Okay so who's willing to play a classic with a little spin?

Protagonist/Antagonist dynamics are the best. You love it, I love it, and so do a LOT of people on here, but I can't help but think that the concept is often played in a way that is a bit... dull.

Of course, I love the tension between the two, the heart-wrenching drama, the thrill of who will have their way in the end, the banter, the heated feelings and duels that can quickly devolve into something more...

... But those should be the apex of the story, not the whole thing. If not, the story risks to become what it is in 90% of cases, that being a plain explicit stuff with a small premise to get to it 😂

I want to ask, what if instead there was a real plot? A complete, encompassing story where the people we'll play will be *characters* in the literal sense of the word with their own personalities, motives, flaws and changes of heart? An opportunity to gush over fictional people and die to know what will happen next, along with all of those tropes we love so much~?

In short, I'm looking for someone to be a huge nerd with 😅

A brave revolutionary will have to make his way through the plans of a corrupt empress to seek justice for his land?

Or maybe a man has seen everything taken away from him, and now all he lives for is the vengeance towards the one who ruined him?

Be it that, or something as simple as a prisoner wanting to become more than just his captor's plaything, or even escape the enthralling grasp of an enchantress, as long as it'll make for an entertaining story, everything is on the table ❤️

And that might sound a little odd, but I've never been too big of a fan of explicit stuff in roleplays, so if you too are one of those who prefers hints and teasing and suggestive scenes instead of straight-up porn, then you're in the right place ^^

The basic idea I have is simple: your character will be the "Villain" of the story, which in this case means the figure who is placed higher in the social pyramid, the one to set the status quo, or simply the character whose power seemingly *vastly* exceeds the other.

I'm but a man, and as such I have my preferences. I've heard somewhere that every relationship is based on the exchange of power, and I just so happen to prefer when the other one has the most... so a figure that encapsulates the concepts of control and elegance, whose beauty is only comparable to the cruelty she's capable of, will be very, VERY appreciated. Do with thst information what you will 🤭

Think of it as the archetype of the Femme Fatale, and obviously all about it can be settled by your own preferences. Be it a human, a witch, or some supernatural entity like a spirit, a kitsune, a demon or anything else, I'm sure your imagination will be more than enough to create something memorable

As for mine... All the characters I'm available to play have their own info sheet with personality, backstory and whatnot, along with image references and a various range of personalities that go from the most modest, meek underdog to the most reckless, annoying little bastard you can imagine, so all you'll need to do is ask and you'll have the whole selection at your disposal to find the right boy to seek your teeth into~

⚠️ Last thing to know is that, when it comes to the inevitable explicit/sexually charged scene, I'm a HUGE SUB, even though by now you probably already got that 😅

what few posts do exist of that nature is less than you can count on one hand and go a far darker route than I would like.

here's a few of those concepts btw that anyone is welcome to turn into a bit of writing practice or into a full thing:

Insomniac specific:

The Mysterium itself provides a lot of potential for many many many fun things one could do and imagine. :)

The Mysterium was closed for maintenance on the opening day? Oh no, you'd come all the way to see it, you wanted to give it a try.. Not wanting your time to be a complete waste, you spend your time visiting other attractions and booths, but you occasionally stop by the Mysterium. You know whatever issue there was, it wouldn't be resolved so soon.. yet you just couldn't help yourself. There wasn't anyone outside it who you could talk to to see what was wrong or when it would be up and running again.. not until it had gotten late and the man in charge finally stepped out. you saw your chance.. and well. perhaps he noticed you a couple times throughout the day hanging around the Mysterium, or perhaps he is merely surprised by your enthusiasm to keep checking by to stick around this long to see what he'd made?

General:

Perhaps you knew of him before his reform? You knew who he was and who he used to be, but beyond that you knew very little. Perhaps you fancied him a little then, thought him interesting.. perhaps a little ashamed of yourself for thinking that way of a villain. but you couldn't deny there was a level of charm and intrigue with how he looked and moved when footage would play on the news from his fights against Spider-Man. Your first time seeing him unmasked was certainly a surprise. yet. that didn't compare to this moment. Meeting him face to face in person. How did this occur? Maybe you were a brand new "unwilling" hostage/participant in whatever scheme he's cooked up this time, or perhaps he is not in costume and merely trying to be just a normal man, undercover.. yet you know his truth. Do you dare to say anything?

There is nothing that compares to watching a movie alone in an empty theater. You would often try to catch the very last showing of any new or old movies you fancied, hoping to be alone.. Surprise, surprise. There was just 1 other person there. A man. No one else came in, as to be expected of a film which you considered underrated. Throughout the duration of the movie, the two of you were silent.. Then came the end of screening and quietly he initiates a conversation. You feared he may be a threat or a creep, yet to your surprise, he wasn't. He's surprised to see that someone else had come to see this movie in particular, it was one he liked yet many, especially critics, failed to be impressed by.. He has many questions to ask you, won't you indulge him? Who knows, it may end up being far more beneficial for the both of you in the end than either of you could have expected out of this simple little late night outing. (inspired by a moment in the webspinners comic)

Comic leaning:

Quentin Beck retiring indefinitely from the mantle of "Mysterio" and selling off some of his stuff as he goes into hiding to try and live a more honest and normal life. You, by some chance, came across an auction for the real deal devices and costume being sold online. No one had laid any bids on it.. you know you shouldn't, but you admired him, sure he was a villain, but you were aware of what you would be getting yourself into with this. Saving up your money for a long time.. You managed to have just enough to buy the items. They were a little damaged, so you stuck them in a bag and hunted down a shop where you could get some safe repairs, tossing out the 'it's for a cosplay' lie to make it less awkward. During one of your treks back home from repairs, Quentin Beck noticed you from afar, he noticed an all too familiar and impossible not to identify gauntlet of his fall out of your bag. Watching you fumble to quickly gather it again and proceed to scurry off even faster down the street. Now why on earth did you have that? For what purpose would you have with his stuff? It wasn't his business anymore.. yet he was curious.. so he follows after, seeking a few answers from you. Perhaps.. he may wind up with more than he expected? in a positive sense?
