I've made passing reference to my idea of "the best dungeon game I can imagine" and it's not like a coherent game concept but more like a grab-bag of ideas from other games/hacks/articles that, to me, would result in the ideal dungeon-crawling game

Exploration procedures in the style of Break!! and Errant. While calculating feet can sometimes be fun sometimes you can sacrifice a bit of granularity to give players discrete high-level choices. Exploration that is room-by-room, turn-by-turn sacrifices a bit of resolution but makes for easier top-down decision-making.

The overloaded encounter die can help reduce some of the mental overhead of resource-tracking. When it comes to resource-tracking there's an issue I haven't found a satisfactory solution to elsewhere: there's very little incentive for players to keep track of character resources in a system that mostly does depletion, which means that keeping track of when players need to count down character resources will often fall on the GM. Making the loss of resources part of the grind and making it a clear result of a mechanism outside of the GM and players' control simplifies it.

Speaking of abstracting some things to make them easier to keep track of on a top-down level, I think a Break!!/Old School Hack style system of measuring distance in areas can actually meaningfully allow for "theater of the mind" play while still allowing for informed tactical play.

Look I think d20+modifiers where you want to roll high is good, the feeling of rolling a natural 20 is unparalleled imo.

I feel keeping track of experience points is important in the context of a dungeon game because that type of gameplay benefits from objective goals that players can pursue for rewards. Most importantly, I think exploration in and of itself should be encouraged, so a system similar to the one used in Neoclassical Geek Revival where each new room explored grants cumulatively more experience points would be interesting to utilize.

The combination of an inherent incentive for the act of exploring in and of itself AND making the resource grind random actually has an interesting effect: while players can manage risk by making informed calculations like "okay with 1 ration per character our party should be able to explore for six turns on average which means that if nothing goes wrong we can expect six rooms' worth of experience points this trek" but they can't count on it. Managing risk is still the name of the game.

Idk I kinda like Break!! style character creation. As much fun as random character creation is I kind of ultimately prefer the flowchart where players can make informed choices about their character.

One issue I have with the traditional D&D endgame of domain management is that it often feels completely separate from the dungeon gameplay. I think it's great to have something to look forward to at higher levels besides more dungeoning in deeper dungeons, but as such I would like to make the domain management part of the gameplay from level 1. Maybe the characters need to go into dungeons to get resources to upgrade their base? Something like that.

Anyway this is like. Really high-level and barely even touches on what the potential character options would be and how the game would distinguish itself from other dungeon crawling games beyond obviously having the best list of hand-picked mechanics and systems all in one. And I haven't really thought about the interaction between all these systems at all. But anyway a girl can dream

Ohhh! Please unleash any and all Jax thoughts you have! And okay, I read this ask from you the other night and I've been thinking about it nonstop because it gave me another thought, so let me add another little layer onto this with a little headcanon of mine--singing happy birthday to Jax in lingerie.

HEAR ME OUT. I have a strangely strong belief that Jax has little experience being able to appreciate actual lingerie, not just a sexy bra and panties set. Think about it--the man never really did relationships after Tara left just after high school besides marrying Wendy. And Wendy probably spent her money on drugs and alcohol instead of legitimate lingerie because why the hell would she? I'm guessing most hangarounds at the clubhouse weren't dressed in lingerie beneath their clothes because it just doesn't seem logical (and that shit is expensive). Now, maybe some of the pornstars from Caracara could've had some sort of costume or something he'd enjoyed, but considering how we've seen them in 'the morning after' scenes in the show, I'm guessing they wouldn't really be wearing any lingerie, either. Most of Jax's sex is just spur of the moment, which just doesn't go hand in hand with dressing for it, you know?

So I'm throwing some headcanon thots on this out below the cut (clearly 18+ like everything on my blog). It's also an idea I want to explore in far more detail in my Jax fic All That I Can Give with my ex-prostitute!Reader who works at Diosa. Because I just want Jax to have some fun with lingerie, alright? I genuinely believe he hasn't had the pleasure of something so simple.

Jax is not the kind of guy who would make a big deal out of his birthday. In fact, he probably forgets it every year. And the guys at the clubhouse probably do, too. It comes and goes like every other damn day to him and he doesn't even think twice about it.

Except you do. Because you wouldn't forget his birthday. You've been planning an evening at home with him when he's finally done dealing with club business for over a week now. And maybe it's not some massive birthday party that you're throwing for him, and you don't have any expensive gift to give him, but you do have something you're wanting to do--surprise him with lingerie.

You're already dressed in it waiting in the bedroom when he comes home, a nervous excitement flooding you the moment you hear him cut the engine on his bike before you hear the front door open a minute later. And then you hear Jax's usual "Where you at, baby?" greeting you from down the hall before you call out from the bedroom.

The moment Jax sees you sitting on the end of the bed, legs crossed in the sexy number you have on with a cake in your lap, his entire demeanor shifts. The tension and exhaustion from his day just disappears from his body instantly and a devilish grin spreads across his mouth instead. His eyes slowly and openly rake over you in clear approval because "Goddamn, baby, where did this little thing come from?"

And when you tell him you bought it just for his birthday, making him sit down on the bed as you set the cake aside on the dresser--where, let's be real, it's going to be forgotten for quite awhile--Jax is practically salivating as his hands keep pawing at you. He's grabbing at your ass and your thighs, your breasts and your back. His eyes don't even know where the hell to focus, just continually roaming all over you as he thinks about how he wants to have you first in that damn thing.

But when you start singing happy birthday to him, sitting down in his lap on the bed, neither of you give a shit whether you can actually sing well or not. Jax is already half-hard, his bottom lip caught between his teeth as he waits for you to finish--but he can't even manage that. You don't even get all the way through singing before he's spinning you on his lap to straddle him, his hands and mouth exploring every inch of you like it's the first time all over again.

You can damn well guarantee you won't be leaving the bedroom for the rest of the night. Jax is going to have you over and over in every goddamn position he can fold you into just so he can appreciate every angle of your body in that lingerie set. "Fuck, baby, you're not taking this off tonight. I'm gonna fucking ruin you in it."

Re-reading first 2 chapters of Sakamoto days and it got me thinking about many things. Of course it’s possible that Suzuki sensei may add things later along the way.

1. When Shin first showed up, did Sakamoto really not recognize Shin? First thing Sakamoto did was imagine killing Shin. Tho I’ve come to think that it’s just his way of teasing Shin, still why is that his first reaction? Again, it’s possible that bc it was just a fun gag and that’s all.

2. Shin was introduced as a hitman too. I wonder how much he has killed at that point. He surely had a rough life already before. We saw him trying to smoke so casually until Sakamoto cut him off and we never see him smoke ever again until the JCC arc I think. Really wonder what happened to him after Sakamoto retired. It’s implied that he just left Shin without explanation because he wasn’t aware of Sakamoto romantic life and later on family until he heard rumors and met him in person. Wonder if it’s ever gonna get addressed to why Sakamoto left Shin then when he refused to leave 13 yo Shin and laid low for a year at least. Why didn’t he take Shin with him or even explain? I guess it could be about safety but still doesn’t make sense.

3. I just realized that Shin was already willing to kill himself if that would make the gang leave Sakamoto alone. I know it’s probably a bluff, Shin said himself that he’s not surprised but the fact he tried bargaining at all really speaks volumes that if it was the case he would off himself. Man…this man was willing to throw away his life for Sakamoto from day one. He has no self-preservation, idk about self-love but he lives for everyone else and that makes me sad. He lives to protect Sakamoto family. Sakamoto was listening and I suppose that’s why he really insisted on having Shin join his family this time. After seeing him willing to kill Tenkyu now is even more obvious how much he loves Sakamoto and his family. Yet sometimes the way he speaks of the family, he excludes himself. I’m so glad that in chapter 203 Sakamoto was there to tell him that he is loved my him, his family and friends.

4. Family rules. Aoi is adamant that if Sakamoto kills again she would divorce him. What about Shin? Now we see how close he was to break to rule. He was prepared to leave. Would Aoi and Sakamoto really make him leave for trying to protect them, even if it’s by murder? Idk about Aoi but I feel like at this point Sakamoto cares about him too much to chase or shun Shin out of his life again. Wonder if Suzuki will explore this in story where if Shin breaks a family rule what would happen. Can they accept mistakes and who Shin is? I feel like Shin was really afraid of everyone being disappointed and abandoned him that he wanted to walk away first just so he doesn’t have to face their face after what he’s done. He’s a child who had to grow up too fast. I hope the story address Shin’s trauma and inner struggles more because he really deserves it.

When I was in Florence last year, I had this idea for a Chauffeur Jegulus fic:

TW: sexual abuse / child abuse / non-con / incest

Beginning scene: A figure breaks into a dark hotel room and shoots Orion in his sleep.

Flashback:

The Blacks are on Vacation in Italy. Sirius tricked his parents into letting James join them for the vacation by making him Regulus's new chauffeur.

The Blacks, especially Orion, are very protective of the youngest son, worried he might slip into the same scandals as his brother. he was forbidden to go anywhere on his own - especially by foot - so he needed a Chauffeur. (Which, if you've ever been to Rome, but also & especially Florence, is not the best idea)

Sirius, James and Regulus go on outings together, as Orion in Italy for business and Walburga doesn't want to go with them.

On the first day, Sirius catches the eye of the handsome hotel clerk Remus, and quickly ditches his brother James to flirt with him. So, James has to accompany Regulus to every museum or sight he wished to see. He makes fun of the naked statues and almost makes Regulus laugh. Regulus tells him about history and mythology as they explore the city. James is into photography. He takes pictures of all the sights and a lot of Regulus as well, usually when he looks at something in awe, unaware of the camera.

James falls head over heels for him. Regulus takes him out for dinners and James gets him to loosen up and laugh every once in a while.

One evening, as they walk back to the hotel from where they had dinner, they walk past the Collusseum and James insists on taking a picture of Regulus in front of it. Regulus is hesitant but finally agrees to the small photoshoot.

When I was in Rome we lived in a small B&B right next to the Colosseum, basically, there is a road with a low stone fence where people sit all day and night and take pictures because it has the perfect Collusseum backdrop. From that path, you can walk down steps to get to the actual thing.

James in enamoured by the photo - and the men. Overtaken by it, he kisses Regulus. Regulus freezes. He pushes him away, rushing backwards like a trapped animal. James apologises profusely, but Regulus says nothing and keeps walking back to the hotel.

The next day, James drives him somewhere. They usually walk. Eventually, they sit in a small cafe for coffee. James apologises again. Regulus says there is no need. He was simply surprised by it. James confesses his crush. At the end of the day, before they get into the car to drive back, Regulus hesitantly takes his head and says, "Kiss me again." This time he kisses back.

Regulus is different in the company of his parents, colder and quieter.

Orion has to go to Firenze for a few days for business. He wants to take Regulus with him and James shall drive them.

During the car ride, James keeps looking through the rearview mirror, trying to catch glimpses of Regulus's smile.

Regulus seemes dissoasiated while his father speeks to him. Something about their interaction is off. He notices how Orion keeps whispering to his son, storing his hair, and placing his hand on his thigh. Regulus doesn't look at him when they arrive at the hotel.

After dinner, James wants to ask him about it but when he knocks on the door to his hotel room, no one answers. He waits in front of it for all night, until finally, in the morning, Regulus appears in the hallway. He looks dishevelled and something else, a few bruises on his wrists, and he comes out of his father's room. They stare at each other for a moment. Then Regulus pushes him out of the way to get to his room.

He refuses to go anywhere all day and evades James.

James calls Sirius. he doesn't want to voice his concerns until he has spoken to Regulus about it. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe it wasn't what it looked like. He asks Sirius about the relationship between Orion and Regulus, and Sirius goes on an on about how Regulus was the favourite child and Orion took him on every trip and would allow him, and only him, to be in his office whenever he pleased.

James felt sick to his stomach.

The next day, Regulus was scheduled to see the Statue of David, and he would not miss it for the world. James is required to accompany him to ensure his safety. Regulus neither speaks nor looks at him.

He sits in front of the David Statue, staring up at it in silence. He doesn't talk about the artist or the mythology behind it. He just sits. James stands by his side.

Afterwards, they have lunch and James says, "Is it what I think? Because if yes, if he hurts you, I will kill him."

Regulus only looks away.

When they go back, Regulus stops him. "James, would you kiss me again?" "Only if you allowed it." Regulus hesitates. "I allow it."

They kiss.

On the way back to the rest of the family, whenever James sees Orion's hand getting too close to Regulus, he hits the brakes, making the man jump.

Back in Rome, James finally decides to share his suspicion with Sirius. he feels like it betrays Regulus in some way, but it would also be a betrayal to just let it all continue.

Sirius doesn't believe it at first. Then he seeks out his brother alone and talks to him. Regulus finally admits to the abuse.

He is angry with james for telling Sirius about it. James says, they have to put an end to it, get Regulus out of there and to safety. He promises he will get him away from Orion and keep him safe.

Regulus and James sleep with each other for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sirius seeks help from his mother. She was usually cold-hearted, but not even she could let this happen. Walburga reveals that the marriage between her and Orion was arranged by their parents. The two never liked each other but came to an agreement. Walburga got all the money and dresses she could ever wish for and was never bothered by her husband, and in return, she gave him a pretty child to do with as he saw fit. She blames Sirius for having to go through pregnancy twice, as he was too loud and wild as a kid.

James, Sirius, and Regulus device a plan. Orion always took a gun with him when he went to "do business." The gun lay in the hotel safe. Sirius used his blooming love affair with the hotel clerk to ensure alibis for himself, regulus and James.

James went to the hotel room at night, took the gun from the safe, the code was Regulus's birthday, went to Walburga, placed the gun in her head and used it this way to shoot Orion in the head.

Then he returned to Regulus's bedroom, where Remus had seen him go "hours before."

In the end, the police arrest Walburga, as she murdered her husband after finding out about the abuse her son had suffered.

James, Regulus and Sirius return to England. Sirius stays in touch with Remus. James introduces Regulus to his parents.

They kiss.

I haven't done a comic in 4 years now, I can't believe this is my come-back XD. Though, on that note, know that I probably won't be pumping out any more comics - not any time soon, at least. But I do got more stuff planned for this au! If you ask about it, I'll 100% rant about it LOL

So when you look up what the fastest bird in the world is, Google with show the Peregrin Falcom

But there's a catch

The Peregrine is only fast when diving

When it dives to catch its prey, it can go up to 389km/h

Which yeah, pretty fast

But when casually flying, it only goes up to 120 iirc

The Needle Tail?

It can go up to 170km/h

Some have even recorded going over 300! (Close to the Falcon's dive, I believe)

Additionally, these birds only fly. Their habitat is literally listed as "the air," and some even believe they sleep while flying! They only ever land to brood and mate, and then they're off again. Their legs are so short that, if they ground, they can't fly again because it doesn't give enough room to flap their wings.

It fits Blurr perfectly!

It also has a blue-ish colour pattern I can work with lol (it's green, but it looks blue, lol)

Though, also, he isn't 100% like the Needle Tail, just based off of it. I still want avians to be sorta their own species and doesn't have to be exactly like their bird counterparts cuz they aren't them, they're their own thing.

That said, Blurr is one of the shortest from Avians population, still.

They're pretty big.

Another trivial detail of the design!

I was stuck between having his arms be his wings or have them be separate

Until I saw a drawing where they had both, and I realised, "Wait, why isn't that done more often! That's so cool!"

So that's sorta what I did

It's mainly to catch small prey when grounded and to stay better perched up on trees since they're much bigger and having extra fingers helps a lot. Or when they're climbing against a tree to pick up fruits, it gives them an extra boost and can better hang from it

But they're pretty much useless besides that lol

Other lore stuff. The time in which the au takes place is vaguely modern? But with fantasy aspects? I still haven't decided lol

Technology exists, but not in the way we have it sort of deal, idk, this au is pretty bare bones right now, so go wild with it XD I don't mind it, I love brainstorming it with people. I know this au isn't as big or complex as some others out there, but it's fun, and I hope yall like it too fjsjajaj

I'm devastated, but an author's agency over their own work always comes first and foremost for me (I have controversial opinions about this, I think!). Since I can't share one fic, why not share a bunch of SatoSugu fic recs instead?

This is a fic I will keep screaming about until more people show it the love it deserves. If I could only read one E-rated SatoSugu fic for the rest of my life, I'd probably choose this one! Not only is the writing absolutely beautiful — poetic and evocative and right up my street — but the author's grasp on these characters is perfect to me.

For me, this fic is evidence that it's possible to explore depictions of gender and sexuality in nuanced and thoughtful ways while keeping characters recognisable to their canon counterparts, which is something I really value in a fanfic. I think the highest praise I can give this fic is that it feels like gender euphoria to me.

Born to Die - @detta-pica

I could talk at length about this fic, and I have in the comment section! Big, fat, long comments under each chapter — which speaks volumes all by itself.

You can see my thoughts in detail there, but in short, something I really enjoy about hermit's writing is that it's abundantly obvious that she has a strong grasp on the original material. Even in this really unique take on a vampire AU where there's always going to be a degree of give and take when it comes to characterisation and themes, hermit not only dissects those canon themes in a deeply satisfying way that feels true to the essence of the original work, but also sprinkles nods to the canon material into the text in simply delightful ways. As a writer, she's economical with her words in a way that's enviable to me, quite frankly!

If nothing else, read it because the fic is tagged "BAMF Geto Suguru". Suguru is unbearably cool in this, actually.

Crack My Ribs Open, I'll Show You My Heart - @alpha-hydra

You'll see the word "evocative" come up again and again in my descriptions of the fics I love. Perhaps this makes sense if you notice the things I focus on in my own writing, but it's something I look for in the fiction I read, too — immersive, descriptive writing that spirits you away to another world.

Alffy absolutely nails that here. They really engage all of the senses in this piece to paint a beautiful picture of the setting and the scenery. Plus, it's always delicious when a fic employs a non-linear narrative to great effect. I was dropped right into the middle of this story and instantly compelled. Ugh, I love this fic.

This fic is still a work in progress, but it's already one of my favourites. Being familiar with sochi's writing already, I highly doubt the ending is going to change that. Once again, extremely evocative writing which means that, with the story taking place during a bitter winter, this one transports you away to a winter wonderland and feels magically cold to read.

I also think sochi's characterisation is just wonderful. Gojo is such a charming shit, and the name calling in this fic is delightful — "fussy little ingrate" and "bossy little peasant" are some of my favourites! Yes, it's light-hearted and fun, but there's a sizeable emotional kick to this story, with some really intense and intimate moments which sochi handles so well.

Lastly, the seasonal imagery and puppy Gojo vibes are all over this fic, so it'll come as no surprise to some of you that I'm enjoying it!

G.O.J.O. - yours_grubby

If you enjoyed Ex Machina, you'll enjoy this fic. It features all my favourite Gojo themes neatly bundled up into a unique AI concept that intrigued me immediately. The reason sci-fi settings are my favourite is because sci-fi is the perfect canvas for interrogating our humanity. I think many people are distracted by the technology and the sweeping world-building, but at their heart, sci-fi stories are almost always asking the question "what does it mean to be human?" in some form or another.

We make weapons out of humans, but what about when we make humans out of weapons? What does it say when our technological creations demonstrate more humanity than the humans that built them? Is it even possible for the human brain to construct a sentient artificial intelligence that won't ultimately be subject to the same unique pitfalls of the species that created it? To our unique strengths, too?

This fic had me asking all of these questions and thinking about humanity on a bigger scale. Stories that make me feel things, stories that make me question things, stories that appeal to my humanity — that's the good stuff.

That's all for now! The truth is, I don't read fanfic nearly as much as I used to, for a few different reasons. I am not ascribing any moral value to this statement (I can't believe I feel the need to make disclaimers like this these days), but the more time we spend in a world where Gege Akutami isn't actively developing the world and characters of Jujutsu Kaisen, the more I see fandom depictions departing from faithfulness to the original material in ways I don't personally enjoy. Related to that, I think I've also become much fussier as my preferences become more refined over time.

Plus, as many fanfic authors have said before me, reading time is writing time! For someone who published more words than are contained in the whole of The Fellowship of the Ring last year while working full time for an extremely under-resourced charity, that really doesn't leave much reading time unfortunately!

However, it means that the fics that do grab my attention tend to be absolute gems. I hope you and everyone else reading find something you enjoy in this post ♥

Alright so I have to admit that I am a Frobin shipper so I have quite honestly never thought too much about RobinxBrook before you mentioned it, but it did get me thinking about the RobinxFrankyxBrook relationship. Personally I've always loved them as a platonic trio because I really just think they're hilarious together, they're just the three adults of the crew who manage to be the most mature and also the most enabling towards their captain. I also think it's very heartwarming to see the three of them, who are already grown up, who have already had their adventures get a second chance with the strawhats.

Because I don't generally really think about Robin being involved with anybody except Franky, I am curious about your thoughts on a RobinxBrook relationship, because I think they're a great duo, definitely one of the most fun, but I don't see them as a romance very often! And also what makes Robin be the most compelling part of the trio for you!

And getting a bit off-topic, do you ever think about RobinxJimbe? She did call him handsome in fishman island haha. You activated my rambling and I'm not really sorry. I love all three of them so much and I love playing with them like dolls. Frobin to me has the most narrative potential. The three of them have something freaky going on together, I just know this because Oda told me. In all seriousness though, to answer the question about what makes Robin the most compelling, I think the simplest answer is I'm a gay woman and she is my everything, but I also just see a lot of everything to explore with her through art and fics.

My thoughts on Robin x Brook (or Hanahone, which I've been calling it for a while now) are that these two have both experienced the most catastrophic and sudden loss of those around them and isolation that followed to a degree that only they would understand, and they've both come back from that on the other side of Luffy with smiles and love for life that I think is really beautiful. They're both morbid in their own way, and they both cope with their tragedies usually with humor. Wano really cemented the ship for me with Brook performing as a support bard to her big fight where she accepts the moniker the people who hunted her bestowed on her, and carrying her after to let her rest and keep her safe. Obviously he would have done that for any of the crew, but they're both so connected with their trauma and getting that chance to heal. (There's a reason Oda picked the two who would IN THEORY be the most vulnerable to memory/dream mist, but they're both thriving so much that it was a fool's errand on Black Maria's part). I don't think they would have a very traditional relationship, it feels very "something with out a name, but it's something," to me.

They make me insane that's all... There's also a lot of banter between them and they're just cute.

Robin x Jinbei is cute I just don't really have any particularly strong feelings about it. Jinbei is great and I love him, I just don't have a particular attachment to their interactions so far. This could change! She's a girlie who knows what she likes, and I love her for that.

White Knight Week will start on: Monday, May 12th, 2025 and go till Sunday, May 18th, 2025, and does cover two very important days in regards to our Knight and Queen: Weiss' birthday and the Canonization day of Jeanne d'Arc.

[ Day 1 ] - “Beacon Bits” ( May 12th )

[ Day 2 ] - “Nightmare Nights” ( May 13th )

Day 2 of White Knight week checks into the ‘what if’ world of Ice Queendom. “Nightmare Nights!”. What happens after the Nightmare? Does Weiss simply recover, or do the events haunt her? Maybe a Kind Knight gives her someone to talk to. Or, maybe Jaune has questions of his own to give to her. Why did he have a sword that could kill the nightmares? Why did she give him such a big sword and heavy cape? Maybe while in the Nightmare, Nega Weiss has … problems fighting Jaune. Does Jaune still think about his Nightmare? Does she?

[ Day 3 ] - “Haven House” ( May 14th )

Day 3 of White Knight Week brings us to the Kingdom of Mistral and the wild events that come with it. What did Weiss & Jaune do at the forever house? Did they talk about the fall? Did they miss each other? Were there things left unsaid from Beacon they wanted to get off their chest? What about the time after Weiss’ near-death experience? Maybe there’s a chance they took a tour of the kingdom and ran into some bad guys? While volume 4&5 often get a lot of flack for the “Forever house” maybe we can make it better with some White Knight pizzaz!

[ Day 4 ] - “Argus Adventures” ( May 15th )

Happy Birthday Weiss! Welcome to day 4 of White Knight Week! Today's prompt will be ‘Argus Adventures’. While the group only spent a few days at the seaside city, the setting is ripe with opportunities for our goober duo. What interactions could you see them having? Why did Weiss gravitate towards Jaune when they reunited? Did they have a wild and crazy grocery adventure while Ruby had her chat with Maria? Or did something 100% off the rails happen in a fun little AU side story?

[ Day 5 ] - “Atlas Ambling” ( May 16th )

What happened at the movies!? A common question by many, but - there were so many other things our heroes could have done. Weiss could have brought everyone around to explore Atlas proper. Did Jaune find a place he’d want to bring Weiss to? Or maybe Weiss thought of a place to bring Jaune to? If Volume 7 gave us anything, it gave us the endless possibilities of our heroes hanging out as they would have back in Beacon. Maybe Jaune and Weiss will find themselves alone at the school and decide to watch movies together. Perhaps they train in the Hardlight Training room until banter starts turning into flirting. With the nearly endless possibilities of Atlas & Mantle ( As well as the other villages nearby), what can you see the two of them doing?

[ Day 6 ] - “Everafter Evenings” ( May 17th )

With RWBY reuniting with Jaune in the Everafter, there was so little time to talk. But what if Weiss and Jaune did get to talking in the EA? They could spend some time together in the Paper Village. Or, maybe they will go out to look for Ruby as a duo? Perhaps you should explore an AU where the two fall together and how they come to deal with everything they’ve been through. Do they go back in time? Or do they find a way to find the others? In “Everafter Evenings” please feel free to dive into the ‘what if’s’ of the Ever After and White Knight!

[ Day 7 ] - “Vivid Vacuo” ( May 18th )

They did it; they’ve finally made it to Vacuo! Yet, things feel so … off? With Jaune still dealing with the experience of the Everafter, trying to acclimate himself to Remnant, & Weiss now dealing with the fall of Atlas, her home, and the people of Vacuo who are less-than-kind towards her in particular, the White Knight Duo has quite a hefty load on their plate. Will Weiss be the one to step up and support Jaune? Will Jaune be the one to protect Weiss from the people? Do they simply find time to have somber chats at night and, maybe, grow closer? On this 7th and final day of White Knight Week we look to the future for our Knight & Queen. What do you see happening for them in Vacuo?

Sorry about your loss :( when youre feeling up to it, I'd love to hear some memories about Otis.

well as often happens in these situations one thing I'm finding is I didn't take enough pictures of him while I had the chance.

Otis, as my friend said in some distress when I told them last week that he was sick, was The People's Boy. Everybody loved him and he loved people, he was enthusiastically ready to meet strangers and greet friends. He was an exceptionally sweet and chill man and he actively enjoyed handling, so he converted several people who weren't sure of snakes at all into huge Otis fans.

He was an incredibly beautiful boy - he was very big and muscular before he got sick, and he had creamy white and dark brown patterning that made him look like tempered chocolate. His belly was this lovely graphic checkerboard and he had a face that always made me think of a rabbit's face - big brown eyes and a pinkish nose and a little moustache pattern that gave him :3 face.

He liked to climb all over you, and he particularly liked to climb long hair. he would reach himself out so far his whole body was trembling. but he wasn't ever really trying to get away, he was just enjoying exploring - the corn snake we had until 2020 was always gearing up for a dash, but Otis was a pootler, he liked to wander around and smell things.

we got Otis in 2021 from the SSPCA and he was about 3 then. We think they'd misjudged his food requirements cause they told us he had one mouse a week, but that he'd scarf up any leftovers the other snakes didn't eat. and when he moved in with us he fell on food immediately (which was nice cause we'd just lost a baby corn snake who never learned how to eat at all) but then he'd stay activated and looking for more food instead of settling in to digest. also he did this.

literally tried to eat both me and Sam multiple times which was no fun for anyone involved. lots of blood and prising off of jaws with a credit card. anyway then we upped him to two large mice a week and he never showed the slightest signs of aggression or biting ever again. he was literally just starving.

he also grew literally another foot once he was getting enough food, which came as a bit of a surprise cause at 3 we figured he was mostly done growing, but he grew so much we had to get him a bigger viv because he was doing frustrated circles around the old one.

we took him to the vet like a few months or so into having him, because he stopped eating over the winter, which we didn't yet know was normal for him, and because he had a scar on his head when we got him which seemed to be spreading (in retrospect, probably just because he was growing so much that damaged skin was splitting).

First off, the vet loved him. Whenever Otis had to go to the vets, all the nurses would see him through the window and come in to fuss over him.

On that early visit, the vet used the phrase "startlingly healthy" - he was on the biggest end of male kingsnakes and he was basically pure muscle. We called him our long himbo because he was both exceptionally fit, super sweet-natured, and kinda dumb.

I remember one time we gave him a mouse, he leapt on it instantly then dropped it, and he looked back at us in confusion with his tongue flickering like "mOuSe? sMeLl MoUsE? wHeRe MoUsE?????" and we were like buddy. It's on your butt. I can see it. It's draped over you.

he loved to burrow and he loved to swim. Not so much recently, because he was prescribed daily baths to help with his gut issues and he came to find it quite stressful, but in the past if we put him in a bath he'd settle in happily and swim laps around the box. he spent a good chunk of his life buried in between the paper layers in his viv (occasionally terrifying, he was good at hiding) but he refused to stay in pockets, because when he was out and about he wanted to keep an eye on everything.

he was so chill. He didn't mind being handled or kissed on his back, and he'd just do little bleps right on your face. He seemed almost impossible to scare, he'd just wander straight up to things. He did like an explore but he was also totally happy to sit in your lap or around your neck while you got on with things, and he'd often refuse to get back in his viv after. He really really liked people, and he liked us.

I'm really struggling at the moment because for years now when I'm sad and exhausted and out of energy I'd take him out and hold him in my lap and he'd help me feel more safe and present. And I would really like to be doing that again and I can't. I miss his weight and warmth and smoothness and the way he smelled and I miss talking to him. He was the goodest boy.

Robin!kon universe (where Tim died and kon took on his mantle to honor him) is one of my favourites to explore,especially the kind of relationships it would cause

I think Steph and kon would develop an attachment to each other (assuming Tim died when they were dating but before she became Robin) ,because they were the two out of the most important people to him ,but more platonic than what Cassie and Tim did while they were grieving

Kon knows he’s changed-knows he ain’t as bright or…fun to be around anymore so he cuts off young justice to not cause them trouble and focus on the job (they come bother him anyways)

Bruce and him are..complicated.when the boy ,just two days after Tim’s death came demanding for him to make him robin,he refused-not wanting another dead bird,another dead child on his watch

naturally kon threatened him

Seeing the first robin situation repeat all over again ,a lonely child who lost someone they loved dearly wanting to honour them instead of revenging him.He knows kon will do it either way,so he’ll rather have the boy by his side for it

Kon struggles to understand fully what Bruce needs from him-from robin,but he knows what he has to do,most of the time

He’s also extremely sun deprived,so that’s another reason to fight about

He respects nightwing and has a better relationship with him than with Bruce-they grieved together when Bruce was too emotionally unstable to do it healthily,and they were both the ones to find first and hear Tim’s last words.Kon doesn’t go out of his way to interact with dick,while the older keeps trying to keep him alive,because Jesus CHIRST that kid need a sun bath,proper meals that are for HIM(because he cooks so well??) and so,so much therapy

Jason is..he pretends Jason doesn’t exist-for him there’s red hood and the dead Robin,but no Jason.He doesn’t interact with him unless necessary and did try to understand the other,but the horrible feeling of envy that Tim wasn’t the one who came back stoped him.If this guy,who died because he tried saving his mother ,could come back why couldn’t Tim?tim died a much more honourable death,saving them and giving them time to defeat black zero-he deserved to come back more than Jason.And that though makes him feel horrible

When Steph becomes Robin it’s because he’s benched-for a couple of weeks ,sent back to the Kent farm to get sun and proper care,and kon doesn’t hold it against her-she’s honouring the title well

Then Steph dies,and kon also dies a little bit more

His coping mechanism were shitty enough before it,but he stoped trying to be ‘kon el’ or ‘Conner kent(though Gotham claimed him as a Wayne)’ ,he’s just robin

Grayson tries his best to make sure he doesn’t kill himself-accidentally or on purpose

When Steph comes back he’s furious .how could she do that to him when she suffered the Same?when she knew how much it hurt?

When Damian comes around kon knows he’s not honouring the title properly -he can’t be around joker without trying to murder the man and he doesn’t handle other criminals well,and he knows he’s ruining the legacy Tim tired to keep it

When Damian announces himself as the new Robin,kon doesn’t try to fight him-telling him not to die in a ditch and treat the title with highest honour

They get along okay,just a pretty causal platonic relationship ,and sometimes talk about things they have in common-the traumatic ones ofc

I had a idea for your dragon au, dragons unconsciously mark their horde with their craft so they can find it if they lose it and know its condition, it also slows things like rusting degrading and aging for both objects and living creatures.

Ohhh that's very fun. Especially considering that dragons are long-lived creatures in the first place! Don't want to lose your hoard if you can help it! "Knowing its condition" also ties well into being particularly sensitive to how they're feeling and whether or not they're doing well, which is something that my friend and I already had in mind for if a fixation is bordering on getting more intense than it should.

The fact that this is subconscious too is very fun because imagine everyone very slowly coming to the realization that. Hold on. We're not aging as we should.

Either slowly on their own like that, or it could be a very sudden realization if they find a book that mentions it.

Actually wait I like the thought of somewhere in between, where they find a book that mentions this craft-marking and its effects, but doesn't specify whether or not that applies to living creatures too. So it's something they're aware might be a thing and have to deal with the slowly encroaching evidence that, yes, it does apply to them as well.

Alternatively odile has already been having suspicions at this point (especially if this is affecting BONNIE - oh gosh hold on let me finish this paragraph first) and the book confirms her suspicions, and she has to break the news to everyone else that this has already been affecting them, and will probably continue to do so.

Bonnie is a kid, a preteen, either currently going through puberty or about to. They're the one in the group that would be changing the fastest due to aging, so they're the one that would first be noticeable in terms of those changes slowing. I imagine the rate of slowing matches siffrin's - they wouldn't live as long as a full dragon, but their life has definitely been extended to some degree. I'm not sure by how much, but my first thought is two to three times as long as they would have otherwise. Couple hundred years. So that's two to three times as long for bonnie, too.

Bonnie would NOT be a fan. They already don't like being treated like a kid, and now they have to be one for LONGER??? TWO TO THREE TIMES AS LONG???? They're gonna be like 25 years old and still be 16. How does age of majority work when your aging has slowed?

Once they're not a kid anymore tho they're chill. Frin wanted to stay with them so bad they made sure they'd stay alive with them! Aw!

They're a bit less chill once they start living longer than all their friends but that's something all of them have to deal with, including siffrin himself (presuming he DOES eventually find friends other than his family throughout his life). i will never stop being impressed that chinese TF fandom has fan translated the entirety of IDW1. actually, just. seemingly every TF comic ever written. but IDW1 is so many goddamn comics, and eng>chinese translation is famously so complex and difficult, and IDW1 was so many comics, seriously. that is incredible. oh my god. one day i would LOVE to speak to someone bilingual who is able to tell me about translation choices made for MTMTE, like i would LOVE to know how certain things are handled. what a cool thing.
