The Aster

I have gone by the name ‘Aster’ for as long as I remember

although I do not remember too much.

It started as just a random name to cling to

a soft blanket around me

a mask to clutch.

No matter the weather

wind, rain or shine,

I hear it come from someone’s mouth every time.

As if it was natural

as if it was right

as if it was something I should cherish

not something I should fight.

An aster is a flower

dainty and pure

it comes from stars in the sky.

it is lovely

it is simple

it is pretty

but it’s everything I am not.

I’m not a flower,

dainty and pure.

I cannot grace the presence of others with my glittering grandeur.

I’m silly

I’m tacky

I’m a hypocrite

and I hardly recognize who I see in the mirror each day.

A flower is resilient,

and blooms beautifully

no matter wind, rain or shine.

It firmly plants its roots in the soil it was blown into.

It doesn’t falter

it doesn’t whine.

So tell me little flower

who may I be?

Your pointed petals speak to me.

So tell me little flower

am I an aster like you?

Your name itself is just too cute.

So if I may little flower

although it may not seem too fair

can I borrow your name,

I pick up the broken pieces

Because the aster is resilient

it stands its ground.

even with a frown.

And although it is painful

and brings me much sorrow

I will return the name I have held

for it does not fit me any longer.

Thank you little flower

for you have given much joy.

But I must move on to better things,

hobbies and interests I enjoy.

The little fragments of the name I once used

stay with me,

Will pull you closer to him, practically growling if the person doesn’t get the hint.

Freezes for a moment, then smiles, but it’s far from a kind smile. It's more of... getoutofmyfacebeforeismackyouintotomorrow typa smile.

“How cute, you think you’re that familiar with them.”

Casually places a hand on your shoulder, making sure the other person notices how close you two are.

His voice is laced with poison: “I think you should stick to more formal terms. After all, you’re not exactly their type.” ouch that kinda hurts.

Vil keeps it classy but is definitely claiming you in his own way. He's probably not gonna let you out of his sight after this.

He simply... smirks. He's entertained. He's slightly enjoying this... but of course with a possessive glint in his eyes.

Will silently observe, but you’ll feel his possessive nature once the clouds start getting dark and raindrops fall from the sky. Then the air around you seems to shift, heavy with his unspoken claim.

Slytherins were a proud house. Sometimes, they are too proud for their own good. But it’s not like somebody is going to tell them otherwise, and let's be honest, they are not going to listen to Rawenclar of Hufflepuff, and certainly not Grifindoor. Draco was aware of his pride and was proud of this too. There was just one person who would humble him any chance they got.

Sitting across him in the common room was a girl he despised. She was getting on his nerves just the way she smiled. She shared the same circle of high-up Slytherins as him, so he couldn't get rid of her. he tried once, but was shot down by the whole group. Sure, was he in another house, his friends might have said he had a crush on the girl. but he is a proud Slytherin, so he will never admit that out loud. Athou if you were to ask Matteo, he sure has a video of Draco crying hysterically over his crush.

it was only a short time before everyone returned to their own bedrooms. Draco stayed behind, finding himself nauseous when getting up. He was sitting there, nursing a small glass of water and staring at nothing with a blank expression. he could feel the sofa dip next to him but he could not be bothered. It’s when he feels a tap on his shoulder that he lifts his head.

There she sat next to him, flashing her pearly whites at him as if she wanted to blind him. His own smile crept on his face as he looked at her. God, he was whipped. She didn't say anything and Draco couldn't figure out if he was hallucinating. He didn’t want her to disappear. The girl let out a sigh.

“What are you doing here? It’s late. Why don’t you go to bed?” she says, looking all over his face for any sigh of exhaustion, or worse, some kind of mischievous spell.  Draco did not answer. Instead, he rested his head on the back of the sofa, looking at the ceiling. The girl didn’t say anything like she was expecting him to be a moody teenager.

He could feel her take his class and place it on the table in front of them. He could smell her perfume every time she moved and it drove him crazy. She made herself comfortable. Arms resting on the back of the sofa looking at him, her legs thrown over his lap. Dracos put his hands on them without even thinking about it.

“Can I have a question? “ She says. draco turns his his head so they are face to face.

Silence falls upon them. To others, it might have been awkward, but to them, it felt comforting. If Draco had to put any labels on them, he would write giant ‘ simp ‘ in a red marker on his face. “Well, I'm glad you think I’m pretty. I would be pretty bumped if my crush thought I'm ugly.” She says. draco just hums, not really paying attention to her words. His eyes keep jumping between her eyes and lips. The girl just sighs again.

“Come one big guy, let's get you to bed.”  She makes a move to get up but Draco is not letting her move. A brilliant idea came to his mind and he felt like he was going to die if he did not execute it right at this moment.  He moved her close to his, as much as he could. One hand sneaked around her waist and the other around her neck. He leaned in so close that he could feel her breath on her face. Even up close he found her so pretty, it almost made him cry.  She was looking at him. Watching him studying her as if he was trying to engrave her face in his memory. She wanted him to move, she wanted him to close the gap between them, but alas he wouldn't move. Seemingly in his own world, with no way in.

So she did it for him. Only for a split second, Draco felt her lips on his. He was left chasing after her when she moved away. A small whine left him as well. He stayed there looking at her, a pout forming on his lips as if she had just stolen his last piece of candy.

“Ya know, I lowkey like you,” he says, very proud of his confession. His brain drifted away again as he locked his eyes on her lips once more.

“ I like you too, dummy.” She says back, playing with his hair softly. draco let out a hum as that was the only thing he needed to hear before locking their lips again. He leaned her back so she lay flat on the sofa. He separated them for a second.

“You know, this is not just a drunken confession. I don't do those.” He says and goes to kiss her again. She stops him with her hand on his chest. A wide smile on her face melted Draco's heart away.

“You meant like that one time you told me about how you slipped naked in the perfect bathroom and slid from one end to the other on your butt?”

“I told you that in confidence!” He whines and hides his face in her neck. She can only laugh.

Being in love with someone like this wasn’t part of his plans—for life, actually. You were the one person who could keep him grounded, keep him from falling apart. It was as if he’d been bewitched by a powerful force—one that he didn’t dream of being free from.

Maybe it was just the fleeting feeling of love, having warmth in those dark nights by the arms that wrapped around him. Your smile that made all his pain fade away—even for a mere moment. Your gorgeous curls that looked so inviting to just bury his face in and never leave. Everything about you just made him feel that innocent love he’s yearned for.

Even in those loving moments when he could feel your love for him practically radiating off you, he can’t ignore that pit in his stomach. The picture that creeps into his mind of you and him being happy together could never happen. Not when he sees his scars, gnarled and etched onto his skin when he takes his clothes off. A painful reminder of his ‘defection’. How could anyone love him like this?

His mind clouds with insecurity and doubt, truly thinking that he’s unworthy of anything that would bring him joy.

Even as he cries into his pillow late at night, finally letting himself to put down the rough exterior he desperately keeps up. It was late at night, the city lights and cloudy skies making his room gloomy.

He didn’t even hear you coming into his apartment, forgetting that you were supposed to come by at night after your long day to drop off a few things. It wasn’t until he hears the creak of his bedroom door that he faces the door.

What he didn’t expect was to see you standing at the doorway, hesitant on coming into his room. Hearing his sobs as you entered filled your heart with worry, quietly making your way through his apartment to see him.

Jason says your name in confusion, his voice shaky and strained from his crying. “Shit—Look uhm—“ he sniffles quietly, wiping his tear stained face with his hands. “..Sorry.” He sighs, too embarrassed and numb to make up an excuse. He’s grateful that his room is dim, but hoping that the subtle glow from the moon didn’t show his puffy eyes.

There was silence for a long moment, Jason internally panicking and overwhelmed by you seeing him so..vulnerable. He couldn’t see your face or even read you, the dim lighting made it difficult. It wasn’t until you broke the silence, your voice soft.

“..It’s alright. I..already left some of the things you asked for on the table. But uhm..” you trailed off, a hesitant step into his room. “..I’m here if you need to talk yeah? Or if you just need someone to sit with you.” You say, anxiously fidgeting with your hands.

“Can I..?” You ask, mentally bracing for his response.

Jason felt his chest get tight, his hands balling the blanket he had over him. “..Yeah..that’s—okay.” He whispered, looking down at his hand.

As you walked to his bedside, you could see him a lot more clearly now. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, his scars all over his skin catching your eye. You’ve never seen them before, not that he’d let you.

Although that wasn’t important as comforting your best friend right now, sitting next to him and leaving a small space between the two of you. You didn’t want to overwhelm him, not when he’s showing his true self before you.

Sitting in silence, all Jason wanted to do was crawl up into a hole and disappear. He felt humiliated by himself, for being so emotional and having these feelings that only hurt him more. But it was exhausting having to go on with life.

Stuck within the limbo of what he used to be and what he is now, Jason desperately wants to cling onto the boy who was filled with joy. To feel free and for the first time in his childhood, to be loved.

He held onto the happy memories of the past, yet the pain and suffering never forgotten or left behind. It’s what made him, imperfect or perfect in your eyes & others.

“..This is humiliating.” Jason dryly admits, an ashamed chuckle following along to hopefully ease the tension.

“Sorry you had to see me..like this.” He sighs, more shameful by the second. Jason immediately gets up from his bed, wanting to cover the scars and hide his face from you. “I probably look like complete shit right now. I’ll—“

He feels your hand on his wrist, stopping him from going. You both know that he could easily break away, yet a part of him doesn’t want to.

“..You don’t need to keep pretending anymore, Jason. Please.” Your voice was filled with understanding, something that made him feel less anxious. He could feel your thumb subconsciously rubbing on his skin to bring him comfort, which was working.

His eyes slightly widened, his shoulders becoming visibly less tense. Jason let himself sit next to you once more, the gap between you two closed. His thigh met yours, his burning skin a contrast to the joggers you wore.

“I’m here for you, always. You don’t need to tell me anything or explain yourself to me. I just want you to be okay—you just mean..so much to me. And I can’t see you so hurt when all you deserve is happiness. You’re…really important to me.” You stumble on your words, your hand still holding onto his wrist tight.

Your words only made his eyes prickle with tears, speechless as his lips parted. Next thing he knew was that his arms made their way to hold you against him, bringing his face to your shoulder.

Tears began to fall once more, you felt the wetness on your shoulder. Yet, you only wrapped your own arms around him.

“..I’m just..so tired..” he whispered, your name falling from his lips once more. “..These scars..everything about me is disgusting..” he sniffles. “I don’t deserve you..I don’t deserve to have you with me..” he sobs, holding you tightly.

It was sudden, having his arms wrapped around you and crying into your shoulder. All you could do was hold him, to give him the comfort you desperately wanted to give him.

“..You’re anything but disgusting, Jason. You’re perfect.” You whispered, cupping his face as you wiped his tears away.

Jason’s eyes practically dazed as they locked into yours, his pale blue-green eyes glinting by his tears. Scars and all, he was everything you could ever want.

Looking into your eyes, it was as if he got a glimpse of his future. It was you, it’d always be you. Night or day, the only person who could truly make him feel like the world wasn’t falling apart was you. He choked up, letting his head fall onto your shoulder once more.

“..Please don’t leave me tonight.” He whispered, voice cracking.

“I wouldn’t dream of it.” You whispered back, your eyes closing as you brought him close.

it was truly amazing how well she ended up playing in the semi-finals when you were in the lower bowl of the arena, wearing her teams’ jerseys.

during the break, after 2nd period ended, you caught her staring in your direction from the bench when you looked up from your phone.

she sat with her elbows propped up on her thighs. her cheeks were painted a rosy color and she was huffing up a storm from the previous altercation on the rink.

she sported her signature French braid and her baby hairs stuck to her glistening forehead.

when you looked back up from your phone, it seemed as though her eyes widened and the next thing you saw was her braid whip around as she seemed to turn her head the opposite way quickly.

you’d never talked to her in person before, but apparently, everyone else who attended your guys’ college was familiar with her.

the weekend after the semi-finals, the first time you’d both crossed paths, you had a psych exam at 07:30 in the morning.

looking down at your phone- 07:14 AM- it took you around 10 minutes to walk to the building in which your professor said to meet for the test.

“i’m sooo sorry, i have to go!” you quickly announced to the woman.

you were practically sprinting out the door before abby had any time to say another word!

A/N: hi! It’s officially my birthday(the 15th) and I am now 23 :((((( I didn’t know what to post because everything is in the works right now but I wanted to post something to celebrate in a way so here!! Only base game stardew characters so no ridgeside or expanded. I do count Rasmodius/Marlon/Gunther/Morris as base game even though they’re expanded upon in mods. I think he’s about 23-26 I think he has a degree in IT but I’m not sure. He has to be able to have graduated or taken classes or something.

I think he’s 5’10 at the shortest and 6’2 maybe 6’2 1/2 at the tallest.

Idk just seems tall to me because he’s lowkey intimidating.

Him and Abigail are in the same age range. I think they were born in the same year.

This means he is about 22-25 and his birthday occurs right after summer break(maybe I should do birthday headcanons?)

I think he is a very tall boy(keep in mind that I am short af so what I mean by very tall depends)

I think he’s 34 exactly.

He seems like during his 20s he worked in the family business, he did what was told of him because he didn’t really know how to be an adult.

Then when he hit 30 he decided that he didn’t want anything to do with the family business and decided to move to Pelican Town to follow his dreams of writing.

He had enough money saved up to move and cut contact with his parents after they threatened to disown him because of him choosing to chase his dreams.

I think he is up there with Harvey as I’ve already said. I think they could be the same height range and who is taller is interchangeable.

So 6’0-6’5 really. Gives off hunk on the cover of a romance novel vibes.

Penny

I think she’s around 24-26. And I do think she has a teaching license and an education degree so this would give her enough time to have graduated and come back to Pelican Town after like a year of teaching in the city.

She seems sort of mature but immature at the same time, like immature when it comes to romance and dating, and sort of life but also she has the vibes of an introvert that was forced to mature quickly so she is good at making decisions, but at the same time her emotions are out of whack.

I think she’s a petite girl she doesn’t look very tall at all.

So I think she’s 5’2-5’5 I think for women to me 5’5 that’s the cap on people seeming short to me for women.

Abigail

Her age is around 22-25 in year 1 I think. I know I’m my original Abigail headcanon I said oldest is 24 but I think 25 is okay.

She is amongst the youngest in her grade level during school years.

I think she’s on the younger side, like the same age range as Alex. Especially because she gives the vibes if she just graduated and hasn’t grown out of her mean girl/insecure personality

I also think all of the moms are in a similar age range so she would be 44-47

Now I can’t speak as someone who is completely blind (obviously) but I can speak as someone who has been progressively losing their sight for the past 15 years - ironically enough from a car accident. Why hello Day, I see you! (pun intended) But I’m also a person who grew up HoH (hard of hearing) from the age of two years old onward, I had tubes put in my ears, wore hearing aids, the whole shebang. The chances of me actually regaining my ability to hear completely was very very slim, the fact that I did actually end up regaining some - not all - of my hearing by my late twenties was a damn shock to us all. The point being, when you are a person who’s lost one of your senses that you are used to having, your body starts to overcompensate.

Most everyone has heard/read/seen things about how removing one sense can lead to your other ones becoming stronger. There’s even been studies that show people born deaf or deafened at a very young age, that their brain starts to rewire itself to allow them to experience sound in a visual way, via touch. It’s sort of like how blind people learn to read braille in a way, the touch creates a picture in your mind allowing you to see the way that word looks and sounds and feels. Theres a whole bit in Scientific America you can check out if you want that breaks it down in layman terms without the writing acting like you’re stupid, which is always nice when it comes to medical jargon lol.

So my point that to Day, his sense of touch is not only in overdrive because it like much of the rest of his senses - smell seems to be a big one they’re leading with - are scambling to try and overcompensate for the sudden lack of sight that is getting worse as time passes. But because he had pulled away from basically the entire world post blindness setting in, spending the last year of his life in his room hardly interacting with anyone, his own mother and brother barely being allowed to touch him. That for Day, his sense of touch is absolutely frantic. Which is why it’s so important for Mhok to constantly place his hands on him, not only to help lead him back into the world but to allow Day to recognize him by touch alone. And it’s being shown that he is, Day already knows Mhok’s voice and it’s touched a bit on the way he smells (ciggs) but this last episode is really starting to show how the touch of people is starting to fully affect Day, especially when he’s out of the house and how Mhok is instantly recognized even though he always follows up his touch with a vocal confirmation that it is in fact him that is touching Day.

So that hand stroking scene, the way Mhok runs the pads of his fingers gently up the centre of Day’s palm, how he strokes the back of his hand like it’s a kitten. That right there could genuinely feel like sex to Day, if not sexual in manner at the very least. The fuzzy look Day gets in his eyes, going from blank, to blissful to bashful and then finally awkward. It wasn’t just because of the fact that the dude he lowkey is starting to have a crush on is rubbing his hand in what I’m seeing being called a ‘weirdly intimate way’. It’s because Day’s body and brain is reacting to that touch in a way that people with all five senses might not completely comprehend, imagine your most intense erogenous zone (btw the palms of the hands are occasionally considered one) now imagine if that intensity was ramped up by ten, or twenty or even fifty and then imagine that that erogenous zone was suddenly everywhere. The most innocuous part of your body could bring you the most incredible sensations, both sexual and emotional, that’s what Day is feeling.

Mhok, now Mhok, he’s not stupid. Far from it in fact, he’s clued in on that not only is Day queer but also that he has a bit of a crush on him. Mhok has also quickly adapted to how he needs to teach Day to see the world in a new way, hence all the touching and smelling and reinforcement that Day can in fact do things for himself, including asking for help when he needs it. So Mhok knew exactly what he was doing with the hand rubbing, sort of. Did he know the sensation would be heightened, my best bet is totally. But did he expect to have his reaction to it go beyond that of teasing? Given his own bashfulness, doubtful. When you’re dating someone with a loss of one or many senses, you tend to change your own preconceived notions of what intimacy with your partner is. For some people offering a foot rub to their partner is a clear come on, an offer for something to lead to more. But for a blind person, especially a newly blind person like Day. They use their hands to navigate their entire world - you literally read with your fingers - so a blind persons hands are basically their most important tools in a lot of ways. To have someone touch your hands with such care, such reverence, it’s not just intimate, it’s full on foreplay.

Mhok wasn’t just touching Day, he was touching Day. It was meant to be seen as intimate because it was intimate, so intimate, in a way I don’t think either Mhok nor Day were expecting it to be because neither had ever experienced something like that before. That scene was truly the beginning of their relationship shifting, that hand scene was kind of like their first kiss.

After a few months his hair went back to brown

His tattoos don’t mean anything, he just got them because he thought they were cool.

He smells like incense and ash most of the time.

If he decided to finally wash his clothes then he smells like clean laundry.

He doesn’t wear cologne, he’s never cared for it.

He showers like twice a week. For the rest of the week he just wipes himself down this a cloth.

At least he uses a soap cloth (oh thank GOD)

When “the incident” happened his face scars would constantly bleed and wouldn’t close.

It was really sensitive and if he smiled or laughed to hard it would gush out again.

It took multiple years for the wound to permanently close.

It’s completely healed now it’s just deformed skin

The scars on his body are from fights, him doing stupid shit or self harm.

He’s not hairy, some underarm hair but that’s all

His veins are most visible in his forearms and hands

I don’t have a voice claim for him (YET!) but his voice is pretty deep and it has a raspy sound to it

He has dark circles under his eye from staying up for days at end

He got some sharp ass canine teeth. In my AU he got bit by a vampire. He didn’t get turned into one bc the transformation was stopped right after his vamp fang came in.

Warm to the touch. Doesn’t matter what season it is, his body manages to retain a significant amount of body heat.

His skin is very pale due to lack of sunlight and frequent blood loss.

He loves showing off and will do it no matter what. Even if the circumstances are dangerous.

Jeff loves stroking his ego, it’s so obnoxious but he could care less.

Lowkey thinks he better than everyone

Like I said before he loves his ego being satisfied so u could just blow smoke up his ass.

He’s quick to temper too. He’ll go into a rage induced episodes and they can last for days at a time.

That’s due to his IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder) and just him being a fucked up person.

He also has BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder)

He’s not trying to manage his IED by being more laidback and comedic but that’s not really helping.

Not a big fan of animals. So if you were to ask him what is fav animal was he wouldn’t say any.

Some of them are ornamental and some he actually uses to kill

He gets the money to fuel his collection off the dead bodies of his victims

Sometimes he uses the same torture methods he learned about on his victims.

To Jeff killing is something he does for 3 things. Survival, satisfaction, and emotional regulation.

Once he’s got you in his grasp you won’t make it out alive.

Jeff commits the worst murders when he’s having a IED or BPD episode.

He’s not a kidnapper type serial killer

He likes to get the job done by the end of the day at the longest

He loves the taste of blood and often licks it off his knife

He thinks he can train himself to be able to taste the differences between blood types.

He just likes inflicting pain on complete strangers, it’s thrilling to him.

And it’s usually not a stab and go kill, when he first started out that’s how it was bc it was more for survival.

Now Jeff has the taste for blood. And he’s got some horrifyingly creative ways to extract it.

Nowadays you’ll be lucky if it’s a stab and go. His goal is to make sure u feel the agony, every. second. of. it.

He would never consider hurting someone close to him, that would severely fuck with him.

Since the murder of his family he has no one. So he cherishes the few people close to him a lot more than he used to.

He’s never had any regrets about any of the many murders he has committed.

The one and only time he’s ever felt bad about inflicting violence on someone is his older brother Liu.

Jeff’s never done any hard drugs and doesn’t care to.

Who needs a drug addiction when you have a murder addiction?
