there is no way to describe this story in light or beautiful words. hibari no asa is, at its heart, a story about how society has shaped women as lesser beings, making it normal for us to question the values we have. it's our fault. we started it. if it weren't for us…if we didn't exist…if we weren't a woman. we are forced to turn against others, to disqualify ourselves as human, because it's what we grew up listening to.

that's what we hear when a man humiliates us and dismantles us. it's what we hear when we finally ask for help. is what we hear when we are born. hibari no asa isn’t here to bring a nice, positive light on a nightmare we are forced to relive, over and over again — it’s here to show the unfairness, the ugliness, the goodbyes we have to say to living people.

it’s about blood and tears, being assaulted and being silenced. about how our society turn a blind eye for the girls who need us the most. for the eyes that scream louder than words. who in this world will save us? is it enough to just take a deep breath and move on? if they keep their head down, would you threat them nicely? would you believe in them if they were a cisgender men?

yamashita tomoko proves again how brilliant and marvelous her narrative can be. with constant repetitions, with different points of view, with harsh and cruel words, she dissect human relations with mastery. i can only wish that we’re better tomorrow, that we are kinder. that we don’t have to tell a little girl how she needs to deal with the sick normality of a rotten society.

(also, i’m sorry if this sounds more like i’m rambling with anger and not really making a review. it just feels too much rn, too many things i’ve seen with my own eyes, too many faces i recognize. it just hurts)

We laugh at sci-fi for how it over-explains technology, but we also need to make fun of how Victorians describe any time period that takes place more than ten years before the book's publishing date.

It's like if we wrote like this about the '80s or '90s.

According to the curious fashions of the day, she wore a shirt of tie-dye print. It may seem quaint to our modern sensibilities, but such colorful styles were a common sight in any public street of those times.

She and her friends went to the theater to see E.T. How strange to think that film was once at the heights of popularity and acclaim, as well-known in its day as films like The Hunger Games or The Avengers have become in the intervening time.

I get that the lack of video and audio recording made it harder for future generations to experience the details of the past, and that technology was changing their world at a faster rate than ever before, but also, dude, it was only, like, forty years ago, so maybe chill out a bit.

What I think would actually happen if they stole SQQ? Absolutely nothing good for anyone, LBH would Lose His Fucking Mind xD as a more interesting answer though, I like the idea that Shen "Pedantic Nitpicky Asshole" Qingqiu's primary point of argument is that he is not a bride so he cannot be "bridenapped" regardless of demonic tradition or intention!

This eventually leads to them all completely avoiding the Maigu Ridge incident because TLJ realizes that, somehow, SQQ doesn't realize the depths of his son's feelings for him and decides to put all his efforts into being a wingman for his nephew instead because he finds the entire thing absolutely hilarious and rather satisfying after his own sad romance. Obviously someone like SQQ would do much better with his good, loyal nephew than the disappointing offspring of that disastrous relationship!

As for ZZL he just has to assume that LBH must not be treating SQQ anywhere near the way he should be (and like... he isn't wrong at this point, there is a non-zero amount of torture and terror going on here) if SQQ doesn't see himself as being tied to LBH in any way. And if he's not attached to LBH then there's absolutely no reason he shouldn't make his own efforts to seduce SQQ! After all, if LBH isn't valuing SQQ properly then obviously ZZL has to step up because someone as kind as SQQ deserves the best!!!

Is it just me or is there way less fanart being made for this game than the previous ones? Kind of makes me sad, I remember with dai I could check the tags every few hours and find something new weeks after launch, now I only can get away with only looking a few times and week and miss nothing.

Things I and my mutuals draw now are getting less notes/reblogs than they did even one year ago, regardless of the fandom. Fanfiction is getting less comments and kudos on ao3 too (not that they were getting many comments in the first place) Less gifs are being made because gif makers weren't getting reblogs. Hell, most of the post I make have a huge discrepancy between likes and reblogs and add polls into that? A thousand people voted on something and only a dozen people reblog it. It's a hollowing feeling when you realise you're calling out to an empty void, I don't blame people for creating less art because of that.

I don't see a vast majority of the people who follow me in my notes because I have likes disabled. Multiple times someone has sent me an ask apologizing for spamming me with likes and I don't understand it? That is not a bad thing And unless you reblogged anything along the way, I didn't even realise you were doing it in the first place. And the people whose notes I do see are not annoying in the slightest, I love the tags you add and I'm sure the original poster does even more so

I'm not trying to shame anyone Into interacting with the fandom spaces they're in but the whole point of Tumblr and what makes it a blogging platform and not social media is that this is a show and tell website. You're supposed to look at something you think is cool and then wave it around for your followers to see and then they pick it up and do the same regardless of how old it is

When you reblog an ask game from someone it used to be common courtesy to send that person one of the asks from it. Folks used to leave comments analysing paragraphs from stories people wrote and theorising about what would happen next on every chapter. We used to send each other asks just asking about our ocs unprompted

If there's no interaction or community when you create something, then what's the point of creating it? It sucks that fandom is morphing into something to be consumed and thrown away the second it's more than a week old unless you're one of a handful of blogs that got lucky and picked up traction at just the right moment

my headcanon/vibe is that lucanis always has a little bit of a thing for rook in the beginning, until either treviso falls (for the dramatic 'interest dropped like a lead weight all at once' version) or a lack of reciprocal vibes makes it fade away quietly and undramatically into a background affection without any particular romantic charge, as indeed seems to have been what happened for him with viago. (see reyes vidal in me:a for a similar case, where I get the sense that he always has some sort of Thing for ryder (even when you're standoffish with him haha he wants ryder to like him SO BAD and not only for Scheming reasons) but never actually makes anything of it unless ryder responds in kind. without further comparison with lucanis intended here except that I love both characters immensely and with tevinter nights included they DO actually have a writer crossover lol.) rook was the first kind voice to break through to him in the ossuary, imprinting a little initially makes perfect sense to me no matter what it develops into later.

source: vibes but trust me I'm right (I'm right for me), look at the way he keeps glancing over at rook while drinking his coffee even without a single flirt under rook's belt and tell me I'm miles off. go on. and most of all "bitter and sweet, like a kiss goodbye. you should try it" is an absolutely insane thing to say to someone you're ostensibly connected to mainly in a professional capacity in the first place. but somehow both more and less insane if you're nursing a bit of a crush on them perhaps without quite recognizing it yourself yet. still nuts, to be clear, but a bit more explicable lol

The 24 Character Strengths are awesome references when writing characters!!

I've found this website to be extremely helpful and cool while fleshing out my characters' personalities and motivations.

Even if I only have basic personality traits for a character, exploring strengths that I feel fits them and reading their descriptions is fantastic for inspiration!! It really helps narrow down the basic ideals I imagine a character would believe in, and then I can get more specific from there. It's a great guide to springboard off of!

Each strength is sorted into one of six virtues. Starting with a broad virtue, for example "justice," and honing that down into the strengths of "fairness," "leadership," or "teamwork" makes writing them really fun!

Here's an example of the "fairness" strength description! Lots of detail and tangible qualities describing it!

Of course there are infinite ways to interpret a character strength, just like in real life. And people aren't always black and white and follow a strength 100% of the time. But it's been extremely helpful to see specific traits being described in so much detail, and imagining different scenarios that a character would react in. It's like I can understand them a bit more and think a little like them, especially if their trait isn't one of my personal strengths. :3

But I also recommend taking the actual personality test for yourself! I took it years ago and it was really cool to put a name to some of my strengths and see how detailed this descriptions were. And when my friends and I shared our results, I felt like we understood each other just a little more. :)

Every life SMP I remember off the top of my head as I type this, but combined and made worse in every way I can conceive. Everyone has 2-8 lives, except Doc, who has unlimited lives. The goal of the series is to defeat Doc. Doc's goal is to defeat everyone else by whatever means necessary. There are soulmates, but the soulmates change every 20 minutes. There is the Boogeyman, but another Boogey man is added for every 10 minutes there are no Boogeyman kills. Scar automatically has one life, but every Jellie cat he tames gives him one more life, but if a Jellie cat dies he loses 2 lives. Grian has to steal Mumbo's mustache within the first 3 episodes (assuming anybody makes it past the first episode) or he loses 3 lives. Joel and Jimmy cannot be more than 20 blocks away from each other at any time or they both start taking damage. Etho is 100% invisible (no particles or anything) at all times. Bdubs catches fire every time he touches a bed. Pearl and Impulse spawn in the Nether, 14,000 blocks away from each other. The dragon egg grants infinite lives to whoever holds it. Lizzie and Bigb all spawn on their own separate end islands. (I'm not a masochist so the people who spawn not in the overworld automatically get a set of wooden tools and a stack of baked potatoes, but that's it). Ren and Scott spawn on a 3x3 stone cube at build height.
