i have some feelings about work that are so weird and complicated and i feel like it shouldnt be but it is!!!

i am kinda doing what i enjoy (that also balances my burnout since i decided not to go into gamedev or illustration for my mental healths sake at least for now) but obviously there are stressful moments and a lot of the time i have to remind myself that i dont dream of labour, i dont live to work. and then there are times where i genuinely am having fun at work and get hyperfocused and cant stop doing things and....i also have to remind myself of the same "i dont live to work" mantra??

my workplace is probably genuinely one of the best places out there in terms of worker treatment in the bigger structure of things but i also dont want to become a workaholic just because i dont hate my job. does this make any sense?

Something I forgot to mention in this post about 8th house synastry!! I've noticed for some reason this overlay tends to manifest more positively when the house person already has 8th house placements in their natal chart (not a guarantee tho). I feel like its because this makes the house person be more naturally in their power and the planet person no longer feels like they can have control over the house person. In these cases instead of envy the planet person feels admiration and "positive" obsession over the house person like "Im obsessed with you, queen!🥰​😍​🤩​" kinda vibe

If Libra Moons didn’t have the ability to detach fast they could easily pass as water moons 100%. They are such hopeless romantics and love having someone to love be that friends or partners. And yes they can be codependent but only to an extent imo. I’ve seen Libra Moons actually detach surprisingly fast specially if they feel like you don’t match their energy

Im sorry but Libra Suns are not people you can count on imo. They have this very elitist/opportunistic mindset when it comes to people. They treat people based on some kind of unspoken social hierarchy they have in their minds like how successful or intelligent or interesting you appear to be for example. They'll be loyal for as long as they see benefit from associating themselves with you, otherwise they'll be distant, elusive and flighty af. If you have Venusian MC/10th house (Libra or Taurus MC/10th or Venus in the 10th house), I've noticed people care what you think of them and really feel the need to make a good impression on you, specially the sex you're attracted to romantically. This placement makes people feel like your love and affection is a privilege to have, that’s why a lot of trophy wives have venusian 10th house/MC

Jupiterians (Pisces/Sagittarius but specially Sagittarius placements) are just the best people to be around tbh. Even when they have other toxic placements/energies in their charts, I’ve noticed they are ultimately all about the ✨vibes✨. They detach from negativity quite fast and avoid getting too deep into drama and controversy cause really all they want is to chill and have fun. The “no worries, bro” kinda people. What I’ve noticed with Lilith natives who are not sketchy people (so just normal decent individuals) is that they have huge self-destructive and self-derogatory tendencies. They tend to become very cynical of the world, lose hope in their own value and humiliate themselves behaving in ways that are rebellious to them but make other people think the native has no self-respect

Libra/7th house Lilith tend to assume the worst in others. Envy placement. They struggle finding genuine and healthy relationships

An underrated god complex indicator is Sun-Mercury conjunction. I can't stress enough how much these people's ego revolve around their intellect. Their entire personality to them is being the smartest person in the room

When it comes to pride and ego (Sun) fixed and mutable suns are the most likely to have a superiority complex

Mutable Suns take the most pride on their own knowledge and judgment, deeply believe they know better or have most if not all the answers. They have a tendency to often dismiss, correct or contradict others

Fixed Suns take pride in their own ‘essence’ if that make sense. They LOVE the idea of being special and irreplaceable. Feeling like there’s something intrinsically unique about them

Cardinal Suns are okay tbh. They can have other negatives but when it comes to ego theirs is usually pretty balanced I noticed. They usually take pride in their ability to level-up and improve themselves which often makes them rather competitive or in extreme cases have this heavily predatory mindset when it comes to what they want

This will not be accurate for everyone of course but when it comes to future children if you have Water/Earth moon you are most likely to have girls whereas if you have Air/Fire moon you're more most likely to have boys

Air Venus people are the most open-minded when it comes to taste in general. I've noticed they're the type to enjoy almost every music and movie genre, they can appreciate different aesthetics.... This happens cause they're up in their minds all the time but this makes them appear VERY disconnected from their environment so they really just be looking like this 24/7 😀​😃​😄​😁​😆​🙂​ and that's why they come across as empty-headed. They also often have this manic pixie dream girl energy which results in people not taking them seriously. This is enhanced when you see that they have a tendency to get talkative about superficial or random topics but their more intelligent or deep thoughts they keep to themselves for some reason.

Taurus Moons actually are actually very very very strategic??? Other earth moons look messy af beside them. They're so grounded that they know exactly what they want, how they wanna get it and they are so sure of themselves they have no issue taking their sweet ass time with it. Every single step they take is so intentional and "organized" if that makes sense, but they pull it off as natural and spontaneous??

Also this is an obvious thing to say but Taurus Moons are so emotionally stable. They work extremely well under pressure, will literally be the calm person admist a chaos or extreme situation. Also, a lot of people point out Sun-Pluto aspects have like a hidden dark/toxic side to their personality but I've seen it's actually Sun-Neptune that match this description

Libra placements can potentially be very disciplined and do well in demanding and/or serious occupations like corporate, military or athletes since Saturn is exalted in Libra.

High School Sweethearts pt.1 - Chris Sturniolo

A/n: This is gonna be a series but PLSPLS bear with me bc I am struggling in school right now! This series reminds me of the K-12 Album tbf lol🤍🎀

(Chris sturniolo x Fem reader, skater Chris, nothing much atm, maybe a bit suggestive in a dream but not much else tbh.)

The bell rings, causing me to lift my head swiftly. I look around at the class and the other students are packing up so I copy, but just as I lean down to place my pencil case into my bag, a book slams on my desk making me jump out of my skin.

“You aren’t going anywhere y/n. Sleeping in class again?” My teacher Mr Rockwell looks down at me, his face cold and stern. “I’m sorry, I didn’t sleep well last night and..” he picks the book up off the desk, “no excuses. Good thing this is the last period because you can stay behind for detention. An hour and a half.” I sigh as he walks away before picking up a sheet of paper and placing it on my desk.

I place my face into my hands out of embarrassment, I’ve never had detention with this teacher before, I’m usually alert in his classes. “No more sleeping!” Mr Rockwell slightly yells from across the classroom and I pick up my pen before sighing and studying the page. Algebra. Math has never been my strong suit.

Mine and the teachers heads both shoot to the door as it opens with a squeak, a brunette boy walks into the room and up to the teachers desk, “You’re late again. Once more and there will be serious issues.” I hear Mr Rockwell say, before the boy replies “yeah sorry, see my brother had to..” “Excuses again! What’s the matter with the students in my class.” He mutters, leaning past the brunette to look at me.

My face flushes with embarrassment as the boy turns to look at me, he mustn’t have noticed there was anyone else in the class, I am seated right at the back to be fair. He smiles at me softly, before turning back to the teacher. I swear I recognised him, I think he was one of the triplets in our grade.

“Sit down.” Mr Rockwell mutters, handing the boy the same piece of paper he gave me. To my surprise the boy sat right next to me, probably to try copy me. “If you’re trying to copy me, you’re out of luck because I haven’t got a clue either.” I whisper and I look over to the boy, his eyes studying my face. “Do I know you?” He whispers back.

“I don’t know.. do you?” I ask in confusion because I haven’t ever spoken to him or his brothers, “yeah you’re the girl who sits at the front in science.” He chuckles and looks at the teacher at the front of the class and then back at me.I’m surprised he knows who I am, I didn’t know he was in my class.

“Oh yeah..” I laughed lightly. I look back down at my paper to try and make some sense of it, and I fail at that.

The teacher stands up and his chair squeaks against the floor, causing me and the boy to jump as we look up. “I need to go.. grab something from one of the other classrooms I’ll be 10 minutes minimum.” He spoke monotonously and walked out the class. I immediately look to the boy and he has the same confused expression on his face as I do.

“What was that about?” He looks to me for an answer, “I dont know but at least I don’t have him staring me down anymore,” I laugh, “what’s your name? Sorry I dont remember it.” I feel guilty, due to the fact that he knows who I am, I mean I know who he is but not enough to know his name, does he even know mine?

“Oh uh im Chris, and don’t stress it y/n u won’t be forgetting my name soon enough.” He smirks to me before his eyes focus on the equations in front of him. He knows my name. “What do you mean by that?” I laugh softly and he shrugs.

“Maybe you’ll remember me as the boy who stole the answers for this algae-bra shit.” He stands up whilst looking at me, “it’s Algebra, Chris, and you aren’t stealing answers, what if he comes back?”

“Chill, I’ll take the blame for it anyway.” He opens the drawer in the teachers desk and ruffles through some paper until he smiles and grabs a piece of paper, closes the drawer and walks back over to me. “You thief.” I joke with him as he sits back down and scoots his desk closer to me so we can share the paper.

We finish up with the paper and the teacher still hasn’t returned, Chris puts the paper back into his desk and we try to wait it out for the 25 minutes we have left. “Can we just leave now?” He rolls his eyes and taps his pen on the desk. “I wish but no. What if he comes back and we’re gone?” I watch him as he stops tapping his pen and leans down to his bag.

“Live a little y/n. He’s been gone for most this detention, it’s his fault if you leave early.” He packs his things into his backpack. “Plus I’ll write a note on his board and let him know we left ‘at the right time’” he does finger quotations and smirks, “fine.” I sigh.

He hops out his seat and grabs both our papers and places them on the desk, as I pack my things away. He writes on the board ‘sorry for being in detention or whatever but we did the work (it’s on ur desk) and left, love u teach xx - Chris’ “there.” He smiles proudly and I roll my eyes “you’re not funny.” I stand up.

We both sneak out the classroom and Chris leads me the way. We hear voices coming from a storage cupboard and he looks back at me before we go to move forward again but before we can start moving, the door swings open and a girl walks out, she looked about late 20s or something, she went down the hallway in the direction we were headed.

Chris turns to me and raises one of his eyebrows as if to say ‘what the fuck was she doing in there’ . About a minute later someone else stumbles out of the cupboard, my mouth drops when I realise it’s Mr Rockwell. He walks down the corridor towards his class which means he was gonna pass me and Chris. Chris pulls me behind a locker and my back is pressed right up against him.

Mr Rockwell passes us, and thankfully doesn’t see us. I let out a sigh of relief and Chris grabs my arm before we are running down the corridors and out the double doors. Chris leans against the brick wall, breathing heavily.

“I’m never doing that again.” I breath as I smile at him, “You know we will,” he smirks at me before checking his phone. “Shit I was supposed to be home like half hour ago I should go.” “But detention doesn’t end for what.. another like 10/15 minutes? Why would you need to be home before it ends?” I ask tilting my head slightly as he smiles and looks at his feet.

“Your detention doesn’t end for another 10/15 minutes, mine ended like 45 mins ago.” He looked at me, “what, why didn’t you leave when you should’ve then?” I am really confused now. “Didn’t want to leave you on your own.” He shrugged before grabbing a skateboard off of a rack. “Oh thanks.” I smile “You skate?” I try to hide my blush from his comment and bring my focus to his board.

“Uh yeah, do you?” He smiles down at me due to our height difference, “no but I tried once and I got scared.” I laugh, he laughs too before dropping his board onto the ground, “I’ll teach you sometime.” He starts to skate away, “see ya y/n!”.

I get home and throw my notebook down onto my desk, one of my pages is folded over, I hate when that happens. I turn to the page to unfold the corner and there’s writing on the page ‘know you would want this - Chris’ below that was his phone number. I smile to myself at his slightly messy handwriting and pick up my phone.

I add his number to my contacts and open up imessage. ‘How did you write that in my book without me noticing😂’ I press send. He replies with ‘gotta keep an eye on your stuff y/n😉’ we text back and forth for a bit before I go to sleep.

“You’re so pretty y/n.” I smile as he leans over me and smirks, “can I?” His hand plays with the seam on my panties. “Yes.. please.” He starts to kiss my neck, “fuck Chris…”

I sit up quickly, breathing fast. “What the fuck.” I mumble to myself before wiping my eyes and laying back down. Come on y/n you barely knew the boy before today and now you’re dreaming of him? I sigh heavily.

I’m never telling anyone about that.. ever..

Astro Observations/Opinions (Tropical Edition🫶🏾🫶🏾)

Hello Guys! Since I have done a vedic edition observations, I now want to do a tropical astrology one. I apologize if I confused anyone with my vedic one, i’m not too well versed in it buttt I AM WELL VERSED IN tropical astrology though hehe😈

These are my opinions/observations so LOVE IT OR HATE IT😋😗

Anyways let’s get started

1. Scorpio moons at their worst are FUCKING CRAZY. like extremely obsessive, extremely closed and narcissistic and just overall painful to be around. y’all can lowkey suck the life out of everyone lol likeeeeeee no joke. I have met many scorpio moons that are hella abusive but I know that’s not the majority. Other wise y’all are great to be around but baby as a Leo moon I CANT KEEP dealing with moon square moon synastry 🥺

2. Sag moons are sooo fickle and flighty like it’s not even funny. THEY WILL TELL A PERSON OFFFF but sometimes they be fake as hell. Very adventurous and THRILL SEEKING and they honestly put themselves into situations that are harmful just for the thrill of it. Very wise but sometimes their wisdom goes RIGHT out the window when it comes down to it.

3. Aries suns and venus placements can be veryyyy selfish imo. Like they are super independent but bc they are they really care less to think about others when achieving certain things. But are very understanding when you come to them and are very willing to listen. It’s kinda like they want what they want and they will do anything to achieve it despite the cost, and like GIRLIE POP GO OFF but at the same time u gotta be considerate of others. But EXTREMELY LOYALLL to their loved ones absolutely!! I love y’all and love y’all FIESTY energy.

4. I’m sorry but debilitated and fall mars (libra and cancer mars) have wayyy worse anger issues than ur normal scorpio/aries mars. Like they hold shit in and they are very passive so they won’t tell u did something wrong but they will be snarky and passive aggressive as hell to let you know and like BABESSA U CAN TELL ME NO NEED TO BE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE ASFFF. Maybe it’s bc i’m a libra rising and mars in the 1st and 10th are just hella aggressive for no reason sometimes. My ex would randomly yell at people for the wrong reasons (he was a libra mars) and tbh i kinda don’t care for it like. (btw i’m a pisces mars so HEHEHE i can be passive aggressive as well so i def need to learn how to have boundaries but as people can’t handle scorpio or aries anger, i can NEVER deal with a libra or cancer bc imo they blow shit out of proportion all the fucking time) understandable as to why but idk that’s just my experience

5. Saturn in the 3rd house when they are upset with you they can be so demeaning at times. like when you don’t know something they are the types to be so unconsciously demeaning and kind of rude at times. ( like for instance if you were to ask them a question about a topic that they know they willl look at u and respond to u like ur dumb asf like 🥺🥺🥺🥺) they are very smart tho and they sometimes feel like they aren’t but like U ARE BABY DONT LISTEN TO THE OTHERS THAT hate on ur intelligence like y’all are very smart but can also be passive aggressive at times 💀

6. Scorpio Venus or having Pluto in the 7th house YALL ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLINGY!! I love it tho for others that love it but y’all are veryyyyyyyyyy possessive (like if someone looks at y’all’s partner y’all prob imagining ripping their throat out like LMAO i understand tho). very loyal to their partner and can sometimes unhealthy dedicate all of themselves to them and nglll me don’t care for that but i understand bc y’all become so consumed with them bc of how intense y’all love and I LOVE IT but baby also have a life of ur ownnn lol (most of y’all do but sometimes y’all don’t) but y’all lowkey hypocritical tho sometimes imo

7. Sage and pisces literally are the ONLY ONES (other than scorpio maybe) imo that can do high dosages of drugs and wake up and be okay like ????? IM SO JEALOUSS bc i have virgo in my 12th and when i get high i get really paranoid and anxioussss so but with y’all having either in the 12th or even calm signs like taurus and fire placements imo y’all are built different like LMAO i loveee that for y’all tho

8. Capricorn moons aren’t cold at all lol they are very much crybabies like cancer moons, if a cap moon isn’t being emotional towards u then maybe they don’t feel safe enough yet or maybe they don’t consider you close enough to them (no shade). They are like scorpio moons tho imo when they at their lowest they can be hard to be around but YALL ARE SO MATURE AND i hate that for y’all like be reckless i know saturn may get u karma but sometimes y’all LIMIT yourselves so fucking much like baby you deserve the world. Look at the world in a scarcity mindset (unless it’s money or if they have fire placements ehh they not so scare thinkers)

9. Virgo placements are extremely shamy imo. Like they are very critical at times and they will SHAME u if ur doing something that isn’t “common sense” in their eyes. like baby i know u didn’t have the space to make mistakes without critical advice but at the same time do u really have to be shamey towards everyone else? but tbh they are the true leo’s in disguise and ABSOLUTELY give them their flowers bc acts of service means so much to them and the most mainstream people have virgo placements (attention to detail is so critical which is why they thrive and succeed) but y’all kinda use that as a scapegoat to be very shamey and critical towards others. I have a love and hate relationship with y’all lol 12th synastry 😭😩

10. IN REGARDS TO 12th house synastry, it’s so ass. The default question when people have little to no hope in Byler is, well, who the hell is Will going to end up with? Because it’s become increasingly evident that they’re trying to set him up for a romance. The “im not gonna fall in love”, the “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”, even the gif shown above. It all can be interpreted to mean that Will is going to find his person soon.

So... to be completely honest, I had no idea who Chance was until this ask popped up and I had to look him up💀. It’s been a while since I’ve been on here, so I’m a little rusty on the deep lore lmao. So, in the off chance that others might also be confused, here’s a (rare) gif of him I found.

I think that’s him with the Hawkins cap on the right. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m not sure where the rumors that this guy was going to become a bigger part of the show came from, but that seems highly unlikely to me. I feel like they would have either hinted at it in the fourth season (like how they’re giving Patrick here quite a sizeable role so that he’ll be memorable to us later when he gets vecnafied) or they would have announced him as a more prominent character already like how they did for s5 with Holly, that one new kid character, and also how they did Amybeth for s4. Idk, maybe it’s unreasonable to think they would have to do that, but it feels quite too out-of-the-blue. Especially for a character that would take on the role of becoming our central character’s love interest, which is a BIG DEAL. Especially if it’s queer lol.

Secondly, I firmly believe that it would be a disservice to Will’s own desires to meet someone new.

Will said this explicitly in the van scene, and as of now, we’re still under the impression that Mike is his person. Forget about Mike’s issues and feelings for a second, and think about what Will is saying here. He feels like a mistake for being different, but Mike makes him feel like he’s not a mistake at all, that he’s better for being different. Mike gives him courage to fight on. Fuck. Tbh, it makes me wonder how long he’d felt this way. As a byler, you might be inclined to think his feelings have been on for forever, but narratively, he could have easily just realized his own feelings very recently, most likely sometime between season 3 and 4. It doesn’t mean the feelings weren’t there before, but realistically neither Will nor the general audience were aware of it before now.

Moving on.

Has anyone heard of the rule of Chekhov’s gun? It’s an incredibly clever and widely-used tool in screenwriting and storytelling in general that helps to clue the watchers in for what’s to come next.

Think of Lucas’ wrist rocket in season 1. When they introduced it as a flimsy-looking, no-good weapon that he’d put too much pride in at first, it gives us a good laugh and we move on. But really, it very meticulously set us up to subconsciously anticipate to see it again later. That’s what Chekhov’s gun is all about. Set-ups, foreshadowing, hidden treasures.

Another great example would be the painting reveal of s4. Obviously, after finding out that Will was painting something, bylers immediately figured it was for Mike and BEGGED and HOPED and PLEADED that we’d be able to finally see it, but to the general audience it was just another something that they’d have to pick apart and realize was actually of importance as the season progressed. (It’s also a good way of showing that the writers are fully capable of engrossing the entire fan base and general audience in his and Mike’s story. Just knowing Will had painted something and that it was for Mike created this sense of PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT IS AND WJATS GOING ON and whatnot that watchers are simply so susceptible to it’s insane.)

Okay, back to the van scene. Will’s confession.

Now, I’m not saying that the writers intentionally used this foreshadowing tool for us to find and understand immediately. There are plenty, plenty of instances where writers use Chekhov’s gun principle and it flies over peoples heads purposefully. What I’m trying to say is that, thematically and narratively, they would never have introduced Wills feelings for Mike if not for it to have importance to the story, or for nothing to happen with it at all. It’s a set up. And a maddeningly good one, at that. Because queer stories already do tend to fly over people’s heads, and also because there’s the added drama between Mike and Eleven that makes it seem quite impossible for any of these feelings to be addressed in the midst of such emotional chaos. But whatever. I think I’m rambling.

Basically, whether they end up together or not, whether Mike reciprocates these feelings, Will is forever established to be in love with Mike. The confession was simply too grand and emotional and earnest for him to just switch up abruptly next season when he meets someone new that he might have a better chance with. Even if there were to be a whole new arc for him where he learns to let go of Mike or something crappy like that, it would be terrible writing on their end and poor use of a well-set-up Chekhov’s gun reference. It would be like introducing the gun in the display case in scene one, then two scenes later just tucking it away into a storage closet for the remainder of the story. Like… what?

And plus, it’s HIGHLY unlikely that Will would end up with that sort of storyline next season when he’s literally WITH Mike for presumably a majority of the time (based on the set pics so far).

So that’s my debunking of the Chance rumors :) and I didn’t even get to mention how incompatible they’d be just naturally as characters. Chance, a Jason-following jock that hates Dungeons and Dragons, fantasy and nerdy things, and willingly assisted in beating up the Hellfire Club when they were trying to find Eddie. What about that at all screams Will’s type? And if you’re thinking “unconventional couple enemies to lovers”, just don’t. This isn’t a rom-com, especially for a queer plot line lol. I think it’s safe to say there’s no “chance”😉 that they will ever happen. And either way, it’d be a bummer if they did. Cus it would just be Will defeatedly settling for someone that isn’t Mike.

UGH! It makes me sad that the one thing that is firmly being teased by the writers (Will’s love playing a major role in the plot to come) is constantly being questioned and framed as different questions. “Will Mike reciprocate?” “Does this mean Mike and Eleven break up?” “Who will end up with who?” SHHH Frankly, to me this is already a win. It’s become obvious that Will having feelings for him will come up again soon, and the rest of the evidence that accounts for Mike’s end already speaks for itself, so I prefer to just sit back and watch it all unfold.

Carmy stood in front of the stove as it caught on fire, frozen. 

When this happened, you were chopping vegetables to take the slack off of Tina and Ebraheim as they worked the other stations. It was only when you heard Tina yell that you turned around and saw the fire. 

“Shit!!” she yelled, rushing around to try and grab something to put it out. 

You rushed around, throwing down the knife onto the metal table with a loud clang, before running over. 

“Carmen!” you screeched across the kitchen, yelping as you stumbled into a metal table and felt the corner dig into your body.

Someone grabbed the fire extinguisher and blew it onto the fire, surrounding the kitchen and your vision with large white clouds as Richie walked over to Carmy. 

You watched with bated breath as Richie smacked him, finally getting him back down to earth. 

“Sorry…” Carmy murmured, blinking rapidly before walking away.

You turned to Tina and Richie, mouth open in confusion. They both shrugged and shook their heads, moving away from the burnt and smoking stove. 

With a sigh, you went back to your station, wiping your hands on the apron that you had put on earlier. You took a deep breath, about to turn to go talk to Carmy when you felt someone approach you from behind.

“Come here real quick,” Richie murmured into your ear, gently grasping your hand to lead you out of the kitchen and to the lockers, where Carmy was sitting on the bench.

He led you to stand in front of Carmy before he grabbed a piece of paper from behind a locker. He then sat down next to him, handing him the piece of paper and murmuring softly to him, something that was too low for you to hear.

Your eyebrows wrinkled, watching Richie get up and leave, not even glancing at you as he did so. As you turned around, your eyes locked with Carmy’s bright blue ones, the bags under them enunciating the blue in his iris. 

Carmy then glanced down at the piece of paper, his fingers near shaking as he held onto it. He then looked up at you again, almost as if asking for permission to open it. You swallowed the lump in your throat, swiftly moving to sit down where Richie was. 

The two of you exchanged looks at one another, mouths opening to breathe raggedly. Carmy’s hand twitched, before it slid across his lap and over onto yours. The roughness of his hand slid up against yours, slotting into a tight grip as he held the card on his lap for the two of you to see. 

You could feel your leg bouncing, eyes locked on the wrinkled envelope. Beside you, Carmy’s almost dissociating as he stares at it, making you jump when he suddenly flipped it over to reveal some scratchy writing you instantly recognized… and that made your heart drop to the floor.

You took in a loud, haggard breath, making yourself wince as it came out much louder than anticipated. But Carmy didn’t react, just continuing squeezing your hand in his as he continued to stare at the writing. The same writing you would trace at night, trying desperately to read between the love letters Mikey wrote you, to see if some hidden cry for help was there you didn’t see. 

But the letters in front of you two spelled out nothing in code or in secret. 

Carmy rose, letting your hand slide from his grip and fall limply onto your lap. Your head whipped up as you watched him walk away, quick strides moving toward the back of the kitchen.

You scrambled to your feet, eyes already burning with tears as you tried to follow after Carmy. The words were caught in your throat, desperately wanting him to stay and let you be there for him while he opened it but a warm grip on your arm stopped you right as Carmy let the door shut behind him. 

With a grunt, you were swiveled around and yanked into someone’s body. You collided with them, groaning softly before softening at the smell of cologne and cigarettes, with a hint of fruity perfume that you could probably only get from a claire’s. 

Richie wrapped his arms around you, pressing a kiss to your head before ushering you into the office. 

With the door closed and privacy secured, you leaned into the desk, arms holding you up from the edge of the wood. Richie sighed, turning to look at you with his head hung down. 

He reached forward, gently cupping your cheek to guide you to look up at him. 

“I know you want nothing more than to just… run to him and make sure he stays but… but he will be okay. You will be okay. He will come back…” he murmurs, voice hoarse but with a softness to it as he spoke to you. 

You would only weakly nod and swallow the growing knot in your throat. 

As Richie began to turn away, you found your voice. 

“...How do I know?”

He paused, one hand on the door handle. 

You stood up, moving to sit down on the chair and stare at the messy desk in front of you. 

“How do I know he will return?”

You stared at some of the familiar scratching writing on the papers pinned and taped onto the wall. Some invoices, some notes, some showing urgency, others saying to not worry about it. 

It was both a rhetorical question and one you were asking yourself. How do you know Carmy would return? How do you know he wouldn’t disappear from your life in a matter of seconds and carefully planned actions?

Richie just sighed, shoulders slumping as he moved to look at you. His steel blue eyes scanned your face, watching as your teeth chewed into your already bruised bottom lip. 

You began swaying in the chair, twisting from side to side as you traced along scribbles on the papers forgotten on the desk. Your hands gripped the seat beside you, your knuckles almost turning white as you did so. 

Richie reached out, grabbing the back of the chair to stop you from moving, making your head snap up to look at him as he stood beside you. 

He crouched down at eye level, taking a deep breath. You took a deep breath too. He took another one. You took another one too. He took a third. You followed suit. After the fifth one, he slowly said your name.

“...yes?” you responded, voice barely above a whisper. 

“No one is going to leave you anymore.”

All you could do was blink. 

He grabbed your face in his hands once again and pressed another kiss to your forehead, resting his own on there. You both closed your eyes, listening to each other take slow breaths at the same time. 

“Don’t panic, we’re here together, okay?”

“Okay.”

With that, the two of you fixed your aprons and walked out, glancing at each other as you walked out and headed towards your respective stations. 

Fak’s voice echoed in the front, triggering a reaction from Richie as he stomped over to see what he was going on about. You just giggled to yourself, finding a small smile making its way onto your previously frowning face as you heard the echoing voices of the two men beginning to bicker. 

Someone moved beside you, their hands deftly moving to gather your already chopped vegetables into the bin in front of you. They gently bumped their hip into you, a smile greeting you as you looked over at them. 

“Thank you, mami.” Tina’s warm voice whispered to you as she took the bin to her station. 

You watched her organize, feeling a warmth bloom in your chest as she moved artfully around the kitchen, not once taking her focus off her work even as Ebraheim began talking to her or as Richie and Fak’s voices got a bit louder. 

You turned back to your station, stretching your head from side to side with a renewed sense of focus, before grasping your knife to continue dicing once again. 

You only got about halfway through filling a second bin when the backdoor swung open and shut, making you instinctively freeze and whip your head around to look at the racing body that came back inside. 

You jolted a bit when he glanced around, pausing when he saw you staring. He just stared for a second, before jerking his head and moving toward the fridge. 

Instantly, you followed. 

The fridge door clicked behind you as you watched Carmy weave around, hands guiding him along the shelves as he reached to grab something. 

“Pop quiz for you, chef… what’s the recipe for family meal spaghetti?”

The first ingredient was already on your lips right as he finished his sentence.

hello and welcome to fic rec friday! where, on friday, i rec five of my favourite fics.

1. Fade to Black by @yokohogawa

Things between Keith and Lance are changing but Keith is restless, especially with Shiro still weak, and ends up taking a bad decision: he leaves Lance alone in the Castle with a Lion he cannot pilot. Unable to form Voltron without the newly appointed Red Paladin, the four Paladins left struggle against the sudden attack of a Galra ship and later on take damage from the explosion of a star in close proximity. Lance, on the other end, is left to defend the Castle by himself and has little time to succeed: without energy, the Lions have only 6 hours of breathable air. Beyond that point, his friends will be dead.

okay yes technically this series is unfinished. HOWEVER the first two works ARE finished, and they are amazing showstopping incredible etc. tbh im not much of a black paladin lance fan, i genuinely think solo leadership is not what he is suited for, but this fic made me way more open to it. the way he handled severe crises was as fear stricken as it was awe inspiring highly recommend

i have always been a fan of lance and adam even tho its the most evidence lacking fanon thing in this fandom. its truly just so interesting. and to have lance as a young cadet getting slammed so badly just in so many different directions being given at least one grownup in his corner...its a good read.

Lance didn't really try to learn a language. He just, kind of, picks up the basics and then works from there. Its usually unintentional. Ish.

Last time something like this happened to Lance, Keith wasn’t there. He’d thought he would have been able to do something if he had been there, or at least if he was, the guilt wouldn’t be so heavy on his chest. But this time he was there. He was right fucking there and he decided that it was infinitly worse.

Basically there's a new threat after the Galra and it almost kills Lance. Desperate making out ensues, but it's okay to recognize when it's not the right time for it. Keith cries a lot cause he's older and grizzled and therefore not as emotionally stunted.

green sock reality? team still out fighting as adults and lance isn’t a fucking farmer while the rest of the team isn’t? keith’s abandonment issues treated with respect and dignity and also the acknowledgement that he’s older and therefore mature enough to handle those issues in a way that doesn’t risk a relationship that is important to him? lance understanding all this and using the supportive nature he is known for??? yes yes yes. stellar fic that should have way more hits than it does

hey y'all. no one asked for it but here's a review of dip and pip's outfits from their new video from a costume design student's perspective.

*disclaimer: this is all for fun and totally my opinion, everyone has a different style, i’m just working with what they’ve worn before and what they seem to like wearing*

Category 1: Y2Gay

Phil:

🤔 i don’t know how to feel about this one… it’s not horrendous but dare i say he didn’t go far enough. i’m an ARMY so i can see j-hope wearing this but perhaps the reason why is would work is because he’d add like a white bucket hat, some sunglasses, and some colorful jewelry to fully commit to the maximalist style. also phil doesn’t really suit the baggy style imo. correct me if im wrong.

Dan:

honestly, i love the sweater. i saw it in the photocards and loved it. this is how dan should wear color tbh. my only critiques would be: a. what are the straps for??? and b. i wonder how it’d look with a dark colored tank top underneath it instead of a black one 🤷🤷

i agree with phil that the blue shoes don’t really fit. but i have a solution. wear some white sneakers and the blue mesh top from the q&a video or just a matpat-style blue jacket. other than that, this outfit works. especially with the blonde hair.

🫢 umm…ok so, how did he not know the shorts were see through?? perhaps it did show on the website but if it was from the same place as the vest and the vest was mesh then you’d assume the shorts were too?? idk anyways. its giving backup dancer construction worker if that makes sense. i’d say go all the way add some fingerless gloves and some design to the shirt and/or vest. go full jojo siwa with it. i do also love the color coordination.

ive been thinking about that thing people say about mental illness. yknow, 'its not a part of your personality' 'dont make it your identity' etc

but when you have a personality disorder, that doesnt really make sense anymore.

which makes my feelings on cluster b pride flags a little conflicted. coz, sure, it is fundamentally a part of your personality and certainly shapes your identity, but something about pride flags has always been off to me. perhaps especially as a person with aspd.

now, sure, on the one hand i get it. theres something appealing about having that kind of validation that you arent alone, especially when you are constantly masking and shifting who you are to fit the situation best.

we might have antisocial personality disorder but we are still, at our core, social creatures. we still desire community, we're just also afraid of it.

so yeah, a banner of community and others 'like us' seems fair enough, right?

BUT

theres still something... off to me about it. what it was, exactly, only came to me after a discussion with my partner about DID and PluralKit - yeah i know, im diving into plural drama now, lfg i guess

they showed me an infographic about the process of DID recovery which showed the progression from very disconnected and separated identities to a more blended 'final fusion' (a term they take issue with but thats a different story). i said that PluralKit must be confusing for people on the later ends of the spectrum they were showing me because, at that point, how do you tell who is blending with who? when the lines are blurry, how do you know who to tag yourself as? it seemed like an inhibitor to recovery if you were constantly cutting yourselves off from each other. (this is not me saying anything one way or the other about plurals and recovery in DID or whatever the fuck else, im just using this as an example. stfu i dont care about your opinions on any of this so dont waste your breath)

i think my feelings on aspd flags is somewhat similar. coz i mean, they are pride flags, right? and i think if you are taking pride in being aspd then you are far more likely to lean into your symptoms, and i think thats a slippery slope to go down and has just a very 'anti-recovery' vibe, if you know what i mean.

with that all said, i also very much think that if you dont want to recover, you dont have to. i dont think you can force anyone to recover and i dont think you should even try to. recovery is fucking shit and its hard and if you arent ready for it, you are just going to hurt whoever you are trying to make recover.

but i also think that you can have that opinion, whilst also being a voice for recovery, and be against 'anti-recovery' thinking.

because look, like it or not aspd is a fucking disorder. and at some point that becomes unhelpful or it wouldnt be a disorder. symptoms of aspd are debilitating and pretending otherwise that helps nobody. especially with all the 'all pwASPD are evil' scum out there.

so yes, i think the pride flags are... unhelpful at best and harmful at worst. but what about the other stuff? the creatures alla tbh creature and the plushiedreadful rabbit? (i think both of those designs suck btw but thats not the point)

idk those feel like they are in a different category. theres not really a sense of pride in those, more a sense of comfort. again, community, but also a sort of softness(??) that the pride flag things seem to miss - especially when they are like 'vampire aspd' or 'evil aspd' or any of the other bullshit things ive seen out there. i guess they are also just way more 'mental illness' coded than pride flags are.

pride flags have always been a 'we're here and theres nothing wrong with us' kind of thing. but the creatures and the bears are more lighthearted and sort of making fun of the conditions a little bit. highlighting symptoms and coping mechanisms. just look at the imocreature - specifically the worm one which is my favourite - and the way its able to be so pathetic looking and cute. its not meant to be cool or badass or whatever else, its just a lil guy that gets sad without supply.

ive always been suspicious of the teams ambitions, while admirable its not sustainable, hopefully this is a reality check, reaching that high is costly, and you'll leave things behind, like, you know, workers right to be paid

the qsmp seemingly employs more than 30, 40, ish people(an estimation), not just the actors, that's no longer a controllable group of workers, thats a small business, that's open to corruption, to abuse, they fuckin need an HR at that point

it's ridiculous, that someone has put ccs above the people they work with, aside from privacy, there is no reason to do this, there has to be trust, and communication, for all workers

if theyy wanted privacy they should have drafted contracts, but it seems they didn't even do that. there's ways to do this, for fucks sake

im angry, because this was avoidable, because i would have been fine without purgatory 1 and 2, lore events, less npcs, as long as the ones who do the work, who keep the server running, get fuckin paid

hell, have a donation pool, im sure streamers would love to donate, im sure the community would too, if you really need money, fundraise, pay your fuckin people

these eggs are not doing unpayable labor, they have been working their asses off, to provide the server with some of the most engaging content you've ever seen, appreciate them

the admins are not doing unpayable labor, they are keeping the server up and fixing its many issues with pings from all around the world, lag issues due to the amount of mods, etc etc

even assistants, and internal workers are not doing unpayable labor, they also keep the machine running

if you dont want to pay them, dont hire them, if they dont contribute enough to be paid, dont hire them

-honestly i was never really into shipping in the first place like i don’t go into a show being like hm. who should kiss.

-nat and lottie as individuals were my faves (along with shauna) through season 1. nat as a main i was more invested in at first but i really loved lottie in saints and all the lottielee shit plus her little comments and fun animal facts. and her weird girl swag. and nats whole demeanor in general she’s just SO INTERESTING. so i really liked the characters before the ship (which is why the mischarectarization pisses me off so bad, sorry not sorry)

-i never really saw them as a pair at first (i even kinda missed the doomcoming knife scene bc i was like what the FUCK is going on just in general. doomcoming was.. something) season two CHANGED IT

-i watched both seasons in rapid succession  for my first time through so i feel like i had a diff experience. s2 solidified lottie as my fave of all time, and i liked how they turned around from the edge they were approaching w demonizing her (schizophrenia). we got a lot more time w her character + time w adult lottie (im still figuring out adult lottie tbh. how does she work)

-i feel like their position as narrative foils was a lot more prevalent in s2 as we got more time w lottie as well as nat. you have the travlottienat scene in edible complex. which just GUH. i wrote smtn on that too. but like just in general a lot of emphasis on the physical vs the spiritual. hope vs the realist. 

-but above all what shines through is the SIMILARITIES in their characters. they’re different in so many ways but it just makes the ways they’re similar shine through so much?? they’re both general loners that have always been a little out of place. they both struggle with mental health. they both have issues with their parents. and above all they are both providers for the team. they don’t want to be leaders but they are almost called to it. lottie wants to be a martyr but they won’t let her. nat has never been one for the spotlight and now shes in charge. lottie cares about the good of the team nat cares about the good of the individuals in the team. something about the bleeding heart and the self made cynic. but they both just CARE SO MUCH!!! the parallels drive me insane

-onto them as actual characters and not their function in the narrative. the scene that SOLD ME was (of course) the bathtub scene. now this scene serves several purposes for sure and it’s a very important scene narratively/thematically as well as for my silly shipping purposes. it definitely hints at some kind of loose friend?ship before crash imo (supporting my party loners theory). lottie, who “only talks shit when someone really deserves it” talking shit playfully. nat, who’s words usually carry some kind of sting turning light. this is after they both (more lottie but ykwim) nearly died because of each other. it shows that there was something there before this “betrayal” of trust, the betrayal of lottie going on this path so different from nats in the wilderness.

-so now after that and the rest of s2 i went into my second watch curious on what i missed and DAMN did the pilot feed me. 

-lottienat dancing in the beginning lottienat hugging after the goal gets scored lottienat leaving together after the “freeze her out” argument LOTTIE GRABBING TAI TO DEFEND NAT AFTER SHE SAYS “"Don't you have a bong to hit or a dick to suck?". lottienat standing together at the party. et cetera. 

post pilot, you have scenes like the one in the middle of the night where lottie’s just staring at the attic. who comforts her? nat. so there was clearly some kind of trust in place. and as we go deeper into the free fall that is saints, flight of the bumblebee, doomcoming, and onward, you can see nats betrayal and animosity in this trust being

broken AND lottie’s confusion because she honestly is just trying to help. just, god.

doomcoming is a whole situation that’s honestly its own post but i wanted to touch on the knife scene because this is one of the first times we see nat actually really fucking scared of lottie. she can’t brush off the fact that there is something actually wrong anymore. and it scares her (and logically so. they did FUCKED UP SHIT. obv it was under the influence, off meds cold turkey. but it doesn’t excuse or erase what they did)

so then you have all the s2 stuff i went over and then the bathtub scene comes as this… return to the past? return to the energy of them from the pilot. it’s a gentle white flag in their horrible fucking world and it’s just so tender and idk. i fucking love bathtub scene. 

i yapped a bunch about other stuff previously and i don’t wanna talk too much about teen timeline (looking back i think i already did but wtv. i went “hm i’ll just go off the top of my head it’ll be fine”) bc im planning on doing a full analysis sometime soon. but wtv. 

adult timeline!!! keeping this one shorter for now bc looking back i typed sm wtf

immediately “you were always its favorite” “there was no it it was just us” “is there a difference”

also “she’s my friend” and then “is that what we are”

also the SCENES WHERE IN THEIR MOST VUNERABLE MOMENTS THEY SAW EACH OTHERS YOUNGER SELVES??? i did NOT come up with that it’s in the show. the flashlight scene and nats death scene (nats death scene def had several meanings but im talking shipping right now). i just think…. idk tho e closest we have to that is shauna hallucinating jackie when she’s an adult. and we all know jackieshauna as basically fucking canon. plus also lottie hallucinating laura lee which again. basically fucking canon. 

anyways basically summarized. i love the way their characters contrast each other and are so different and yet so fundamentally similar. i love their hinted at precrash friendship and the way there’s just this air of.. betrayal? around it later. i love the way they have one of the most tender scenes in all of the dark horrible thing that was season two. i love the interesting way their adult counterparts interact that hints at.. so much more? and i love how above all they care so much but are basically the narrative punching bags. i think they should kiss it would not make things better at all but i would be happy 👍

and honestly idgaf if you don’t like lottienat bc i get it. they’re not for everyone and that’s okay. plus their fanon sucks sm ass ugh. and the most vocal people who ship them are so toxic and weird and annoying :// i just think they’re silly and i like to microwave them in my head. peace and love
