He flew from California to South Carolina because he knew something was going on with Andrew’s old foster family. He made that trip out just to talk to him, and I wonder about how Andrew might’ve felt when he showed up at the door, when he pleaded for his help to put a bad person away, even if he was looking in the wrong direction?

Does Andrew ever think about how Higgins was the only person in his life that actively wanted justice for him? Higgins is the first person that looks at Andrew biggest trauma and thinks, something wasn’t okay there. He’s the only person that looks at that white picket fence family and sees something off and something not quite right about them and the house he lived in. Higgins is the first person of authority in Andrew’s life that advocated for him. He wanted him to find his brother, he wanted to find out what made him the way that he was, he wanted to know what went wrong and he wanted to fix it.

Andrew knows the justice system isn’t going to work in his favour. He knows it’s pointless, or feels like it will be, seeking out the full extent of the law to make those assholes pay for what they did to him. He doesn’t go to Higgins to say, “this happened to me” but Higgins looks at him anyway and sees that he’s never had a fair card dealt his way and something happened to him that he won’t talk about and when they start the investigation against the Spear family he sees Andrews name in a file, or remembers it, because he remembers him, a seemingly insignificant foster kid who got tossed around the system too much to keep track of.

What cop flies all the way from one end of the country to follow a lead that has never wanted to be found? What boss is going to sign off on chasing a foster kid with no evidence, when he’s already been ignored by him twice?

And then think about the phone call made from Wymack the night of the thanksgiving dinner. Oh, think about Higgins feeling like he’s getting nowhere, worrying that he’s failing Andrew by not being able to read his mind, unable to read the parts of his past that he refuses to write down. He gets a call. He gets a call from Wymack and Wymack doesn’t even know what to say but Neil told him to call and that must mean something.

Do you think he thought he failed Andrew by not getting to Drake sooner? Do you think he started getting his evidence together the second he hung up that phone call because he had to be there in court to defend Andrew, to defend his brother, to protect them from a system designed to see them fail?

thinking about how andrew minyard sees relationships as transactions. he can't fathom anyone wanting him to stick around so he buys the right to stay by offering something valuable in exchange – protection.

thinking about how he rushes to make deals with those he wants to keep close. thinking about how even the people that do genuinely appreciate him (betsy, renee, wymack) are tied by a deal. and he can't truly know if they would still be at his side without it.

Am I the only one who thinks that part of the reason that Andrew is so opposed to getting close to Aaron is because of how Drake used threats on incest against him. His first introduction to Aaron was tainted by drakes sick fucking fantasy’s and i genuinely think that if that hadn’t happened they would’ve bonded a whole lot sooner.

Just a thought.

I watched this video earlier this week and the first 4 guys in I'm like, I'm not any of these guys I guess I'm really not trans. Then he got to Kyle at the end and I was like lmao okay he got me. I sent it to two people and they said wow he got me down perfectly. I'm very cis passing in an almost negative way, I don't relate to other transmascs talking about female socializing. My friends in school would complain I was too much like a normal boy and I didn't get girl things like they did. When I came out as trans a lot of people were surprised but there were just about as many people who saw it coming. My dad's initial reaction to me being trans was actually better than my mom's but both have come around on that stuff big time. Now idk how I feel about the trans label anymore because idk if it matters or makes sense in any real way. I've basically always been forced into a trans role, I was never allowed to be cisgender. That's why even how I thought about detransitioning, it wouldn't be a very typical way of detransitioning: staying on HRT and getting surgery but going back to being a woman, just an extremely masculine woman. Feel like a very particular person because I'm a very masculine guy and preferred to be friends with really masculine guys as a child, too. Now that's not true anymore I'm only friends with women and eggs mostly now lol. I've discovered that the personality in guys I like is most often found in closeted trans women more often than actual men. This is probably why I've dated multiple closeted trans women. Also a lot of my friends from middle and high school are trans now, I asked my friend if anything like that has happened to her and she said no, there's something in the water in Tucson lmao.
