My favorite dynamic between Sonic and Tails is that Sonic is very much protective of him and would be overly upset if he thinks Tails might have been hurt, HOWEVER, I dont think Sonic would ever “bench“ Tails or like, try to prevent him from getting into dangerous situations.
Sonic’s whole shtick is that he is all about freedom, and even when he’s being overprotective big brother mode I just cant see him scolding Tails for getting hurt even IF its to keep the fox safe. He’d be worried up until he’s sure Tails is alright, but he wouldnt be angry AT Tails or try to limit his freedom afterwards. No matter how much he’d might want to, I just think it would go against alot of his morals and ideals about everyone having the freedom of choice. Its Tails choice to go into battle and Sonic respects that.
My favorite cup of unbreakable bond is when theyre equals despite their age difference and levels of responsability for each other. Sonic can be a guardian/parent/older brother all day, but despite that, I just love it when he still treats Tails as his own individual that isnt inherently tied to being his little brother. The big brother part is just a nice bonus and a necessasity concidering Tails age.
This headcanon could also create a few flaws in their relationship where Sonic’s wish to give Tails complete freedom does backfire a few times when, what Tails would have actually needed in the moment, was guidence and/or scolding. If you want to concider Tails lack of self-preservation, it could also lead to the fox being more willing to sacrifice himself and not getting the correct reprimends for it, which in turn wouldnt stop that behaviour no matter how bad it is. Still though, I just love when unbreakable bond has a clear respect for each other and where theyre on clear equal grounds. Neither has more authority than the other, its just a big pot of concern and the need to protect each other. In their own ways of course.
(my opinion do differs a bit depending on what age Tails would be. But this little paragraph mostly has canonical 8-year old Tails and older in mind.)
The panels that started this thought process^
(notice the tone shift in Sonic the moment he learns Tails alright. He immeadietly switches to praising Tails instead. 🦊 🦔)

Ok ok hear me out. Skinny twink Leshy or Chubby teddy bear Leshy is best Leshy ( this is for real my personal opinion tho) I have no way of putting this but I feel like Shamura has Jewish grandma vibes and feed their siblings way too much and kinda roast them when they eat it (like my great grandmother) So Leshy either eats it all or eats nothing, hence why I think skinny Leshy or chubby Leshy are best Leshy! Buff Leshy is just slightly off-putting to me.
Again this is my personal opinion, like the opinion of Heket being buff and not really caring about body weight (unlike Kallamar) not skinny anime girl. So please do not take this as fact or anything close to that also do not take offence please! All the art that I see in this fandom (except incest art) is beautiful and if I say I prefer a character design because of headcanon that is my business so yeah! Love y’all, kisses and love! Also feel free to request art I’m kinda having an art block

Seeing that Luke post get thousands upon thousands notes is giving me hives. How does one become this fandom brained? I know the jokes are "don't mess with fans of X they don't even watch/read/listen to their own film/show/etc." and any fandom is going to cause some amount of ooc behaviour for the sake of jokes and memes and stuff, but surely at some point the character is so bent out of shape you stop to ponder what you're doing.
Who is this Luke Skywalker, collector of wayward orphans? Why would he want to be Reys dad? You get the feeling she might want it at the start of TLJ... And then the rest of the movie happens, going into great detail, at times in overly didactic ways, as to why that's a Bad Idea for her personal growth and the galaxy at large.
Even in older Legends material, where he ends up having actual kids, most of the lauded and beloved portrayals of his character are things like the original Thrawn trilogy, and in that he spends all three books struggling with if there's any place for him in the galaxy after the emperor died. The supposed definitive alternate sequel trilogy is, at least for Luke, largely about if he even should restart the jedi order, since his own training is incomplete and he has a deep fear any students he has are going to eventually succumb to the dark side, and how if they do it'll probably be a direct result of his incompetence. He does naturally, much like in TLJ, overcome these feelings of inadequacy and re-emerge as the definitive hero of the story, but spending a few years wallowing is just a very Luke way to deal with problems in life.
Like yeah I wonder why a bitter, self-isolating old man who views his life as a colossal failure wouldn't be jumping for joy when a younger, more naive version of himself shows up to his house uninvited.
For how desperate to venerate the Nostalgia the sequel trilogy project as a whole is, only TLJ really feels like it actually gives a shit about the story it's supposedly continuing. I didn't think you could look at Lukes death and not feel the overwhelming love and care for him specifically. I always shed a tear when binary sunset kicks in and I'm not even that into the originals. I was a prequel defender in 2010, Luke is the 20th character I think about when people mention SW.
Do people just not engage with the source material at all? Is this a product of the whole fandom tourism boom in the last 5-ish years? I genuinely don't want to be mean. After all, fandom is all of us playing with our toys, and you should always try to avoid a "old man yells at cloud" scenario, but like... It's a movie for 12 year olds that's very deliberately laying out all the cards. A slightly more nuanced and emotionally mature movie for 12 year olds than you might expect but... A child could get it, it's been focus grouped to hell and back so any given child on the planet should get it... How are you as an adult asking why the story had conflict?
I also broke out in hives a little bit when I found out that my addition (?) had made that thing go around. Or maybe it wasn't my addition, I'm actually not sure, but I worry that it was. The OP turned off reblogs, and I can only assume it was because people starting doing absurd bullshit discourse on the post which... hhhh I don't really like being part of inflicting that on anyone over something as unimportant as Star Wars opinions.
Also, the thing I was reacting against really wasn't the fact that people have headcanons about who and what kind of character Luke is - like, that's just normal and generally a good and fun part of fandom. I reacted against the idea of The Last Jedi being thoughtless about his character. It interprets Luke in a very specific way, but that interpretation is, I think objectively, deeply grounded in the history of his character and the thematic throughlines of the Skywalker-focused movies. So it annoyed me a bit to see people treat the depiction like it was some kind of failure to engage with the original material. I think that's not quite fair to what the movie was, and I think it leads to weak criticism of its flaws.
I think that the better angle for critique of the whole sequel trilogy and Rian Johnson's contribution is that obsesses far too much about the original trilogy, and is at its best in those few scant moments when it breaks away from it. If the sequel trilogy hadn't had the corporate mandate to be a kind of Frankenstein remake of the OT, perhaps a kindly old grandfatherly Luke could have been a fun and interesting interpretation of the character's future. Luke is what he is in TLJ because the trilogy absolutely fucking had to recreate the narrative beats of Dagobah, and therefore absolutely had to have Luke learn another lesson from Yoda about learning to let go of his attachments to and fears about the future and be present in the here-and-now.
Johnson is clearly a fucking nerd-ass Star Wars nerd, whose greatest mistake was assuming that other Star Wars nerds would engage with the material with good faith and an eye towards appreciation and discovery, rather than product-brained, screaming entitlement to their supremacy-affirming nostalgia security blanket.
To be clear, here I am talking about the culture war grifter assholes who poison the world, and not fandom people who have a cozy headcanon about Luke as a cheerful old community dad. I don't think it's fandom tourism to have a headcanon about a character, or a favored interpretation of them, even one which feels somewhat divorced from the original source-text. If I had to take a guess, the people on the original post developed that headcanon through fandom - by way of fanfics and fanposting and fanart, by way of fix-it fics and excited speculation. If I had to take a guess, they got their headcanon about Luke the same place everyone gets their headcanons about popular characters: from some combination of appreciation, projection, and a desire to see the thing you love tell a story that you need to hear. That's just human, and I don't think you can spend any significant amount of time in fandom without developing those attachments to certain stories or characters.

Joshua "Scud" Frohmeyer Headcanons
Just a collection of some headcanons I concocted about our little stoner angel 🖤 Some of them are NSFW (allusion to smut, mention of drugs and alcohol), so MDNI below the cut.
Also, these are all MY OPINION. If you disagree, that's fine, but no nastiness will be tolerated.
There's a reference to his music taste, and I actually made a playlist of songs I think he would like.

➼ Baby boy is pansexual for sure. I can’t explain it. Look at him. He just radiates pansexual energy.
➼ He has general anxiety, and he has a habit of biting his nails when he’s feeling particularly anxious. Part of the reason he smokes weed to is help with his anxiety. He’s also extra touchy with his partner because of it (this ties into the next point).
➼ He’s very handsy, but not always sexually. He’ll have a hand on your arm as you’re standing next to each other in line at the grocery store, playing with strands of your hair when you’re cuddling on the couch, a hand on your back when walking through a crowd, hugging you from behind while you’re cooking dinner for the two of you, etc. He finds it grounding and comforting to have his hands on you in some capacity, especially when his anxiety is acting up.
➼ He also has ADHD, but he doesn’t take medication for it. He doesn’t like how it makes him feel.
➼ We know he smokes weed, but he’s definitely experimented with other drugs, psychedelics in particular. He’s for sure played around with magic mushrooms, acid, etc. He’s not much of a drinker, though. He prefers other substances instead.
➼ Speaking of weed, he loves to share a joint with his partner (if you’re down for it of course). To him, there’s something intimate about it. Sometimes it would lead to sex, sometimes not.
➼ He likes alternative and rock music, particularly Hollywood Undead and Linkin Park. You ever heard a Hollywood Undead song? Their whole discography screams Scud.
➼ He loves his partner’s fingers in his hair. Whether that’s to pull it, wash it, scratch his scalp, or rub his head after a bad day, he loves it all.
➼ He sleeps shirtless and in either a pair of boxers or flannel pajama pants. The pants are either flannel or have some sort of cartoon character on them.

I wanna ask, what's your opinion on Bottom Lan Wangji or Top Wei Wuxian? Some people like it, some people don't. Some think that it literally changes their original dynamics in the relationship.
I personally don't like them switching the roles, I don't know if it's just me, but it just doesn't feel right? I don't know how to explain it.
Also relating to the above question, I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I do vaguely remember mxtx saying that she doesn't like it when people switch the roles with her main couples in the novels. Something like that. Is that true, and if so, where did she say so?
My opinions are I don’t care as long as they are written with their same personalities, but since 95% of all top!wwx/bottomji headcanons are just a complete misunderstanding of both’s characters with the addition of BL stereotypes, I will not read any work or meta by someone who believes in that wangxian dynamic, cause it tells me they fundamentally do not understand Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian as individuals or as a couple.
Mxtx did do an interview saying that she, herself, doesn’t like people switching her characters’ roles. Where? Idk cause I don’t have her interviews on hand nor do I read them like the novels to have an idea of where it could be. A bunch of my mutuals and followers do, though, so someone can add it if I don’t circle back around first. I don’t really take mxtx’s words as a hard rule because fandom is gonna fandom, and the only thing she can do is make the canon clear. So my only opinion on the fanon is 1) don’t act like it’s canon when it is clearly not and 2) don’t act like your fanon is “better” than canon by virtue of it being your/someone you admire’s headcanon. Just be happy you had a little fun idea you got to explore through some creative outlet, and stop being self-centered tryna argue that anyone else is obligated to take your little idea seriously.
#mdzs asks#anon#bottomji is usually just ‘lwj gets turned on by wat crimes’#and top!wwx is just ‘evil is his *real* personality so yllz era (or the violent parts i fetishize) was wwx’s true self’#these folks also tend to be heavy in the ‘everyone is morally ambiguous’ takes#so i don’t care for what they have to say#even if I’m neutral towards the idea of switch/reverse wangxian as a general concept

Are your requests still open? 👀👀👀
Can I ask for TFP headcanons for Bumblebee, optimus and Arcee?? With a reader based on Jinx from arcane? (Jinx reader as a Decepticon that eventually joined team prime(??)
I just had this idea in my head and I can't stop thinking about it
Jinx is a really complex character and has so much potential, I love her
Pairings -> Bumblee, Optimus Prime, Arcee x Reader
Warnings -> Mental health Issues
Note -> Reader is based on Jinx from Arcane and switched from Decepticon to the prime team
Genre -> Fluff
Bumblebee
You relationship with Bumblebee is a bit complex
Meaning that you have no idea what he is saying as all you heard is beep and boops
You remembered when you were on the side of the Decepticons, Megatron talked about the scout of the autobot team and how he ripped his audio box out
Meaning that he has no voice
I mean you were feeling bad for the poor guy but you just didn't really care that much as you had your own problems to deal with
But being in the autobots team for a while now you started to realise that they never yelled at you for something, they never told you off or did anything to you
Bee respected your privacy and personal space as you told that you didn't like to be touched
Bee wanted to get closer to you, so he tried some stuff that he thought you would like
Maybe some parts that he found from a mission for you to do your inventions
He heard from Miko that you like to create and fix stuff
You appreciated it, thanking him and then went your own way
You felt like you found a family
A family that you hoped you wouldn't mess up on
Optimus Prime
Ever since you came to the autobots teams
Optimus always welcomed you in open arms even though you didn't some horrible stuff in the past when you were with the Decepticons
Optimus knows that you didn't mean to do any of that since Megatron is very manipulative towards his colleagues
Spite you being a 'criminal' he knows that you were kind of messed up int he head
He knows your past, he knows how your past was when you were younger and he is willing to help
But for now he is going to respect you and your boundaries
Optimus will often tell his friends they should keep a safe distance from you as he was told you didn't like to be touch because of 'reasons'
You felt like Optimsu was becoming a father figure to you
He was gentle and never disrespected you
He sort of pulled out your other personality which was rare of people to see
Whenever you are doing something, like fixing or making your inventions
He will always tell the others that you are busy and need some space on your own for a bit
Optimus doesn't want you to feel like your on your own
He wants you to feel like you are wanted
Arcee
Okay you know when Smokescreen was like coming to earth in a decepticon pod and Arcee had to take a while to warm up to him
Yeah I feel like she would be like towards you after being on the Decepticon warship and all
Thinking that you were a spy or something that would get information from the autobot team and then spread it out to the cons to defeat the autobots
But instantly she notices nothing from you
You were a distant sometimes loud and chaotic person
But she decided to keep an eye on you for a while until she knows your not working for the cons
When she does warm up to you, she would try to keep a conversation but if she knows that you are not int he mood to talk she would leave you be
Sometimes she would catch you fixing your gun or your machine gun
She would be tense about that but would ask you if you are use to guns
You were very talented when you were little always getting the target so you decided to show her some of your skills of your own
You and Arcee would be quite close in my opinion
-A<3

Just popping up to give my two cents on everything going on- [TROP Edition]
The TROP fandom is vast, passionate, and filled with people who care deeply about Tolkien’s world. Whether we’re here for the lore, the characters, the worldbuilding, or simply the joy of engaging with a new interpretation of Middle-earth, we all share one thing: love for this universe.
And yet, for weeks and even months now, it’s become increasingly clear that some corners of this fandom have been struggling under the weight of harassment, dogpiling, and outright cruelty—all over fictional characters and differing interpretations.
I want to take a moment to say this clearly: No matter where you stand on ships, theories, headcanons, or canon interpretations, harassment is never okay.
Disagreeing with someone’s take? That’s fine.
Engaging in discussion? Encouraged!
But targeted harassment, bullying, sending threats, or trying to force others out of a space just because they don’t align with your views? That’s not just toxic—it’s unacceptable.
I have my own opinions, and I’m open about them. There are ships I don’t personally like, and I have my reasons for that, which I’ve spoken about before. There are interpretations of characters I don’t agree with. But having a different perspective has never meant—and will never mean—that I condone or support people being attacked for their preferences.
Fiction is a space for creativity, exploration, and discussion, not a battleground where people should feel unsafe for simply enjoying a story differently. Myself, and many others have faced threats, harassment, and cruel messages—some from anonymous accounts, others from people openly creating blogs just to send hate. I’ve lost count of the number of people I’ve had to block. It’s exhausting, and it shouldn’t have to be this way.
It’s heartbreaking to see the works of Tolkien—stories that have endured for generations, built on themes of resilience, friendship, and the fight against darkness—be tarnished by those who have no regard for basic decency. Tolkien’s world was never about cruelty, exclusion, or tearing others down; it was about hope, about standing together even in the face of overwhelming odds. And yet, some have twisted this fandom into something unrecognizable, using it as a weapon to attack, belittle, and harass others. It goes against everything these stories stand for, and it’s disheartening to watch a space that should bring joy and inspiration be turned into something toxic by those who refuse to respect others.
It’s okay to severely dislike a ship. It’s okay to find it uncomfortable, problematic, or simply not to your taste. It’s okay to critique the way a relationship is portrayed, to analyze its dynamics, and to express why you don’t engage with it. Fiction is meant to be discussed, interpreted, and even debated. But what is not okay is taking that personal dislike and turning it into targeted harassment against the people who create for that ship. Disliking a fictional pairing does not justify sending cruel messages, threats, or attempting to drive people out of a space just because their interests don’t align with yours.
No one is obligated to like what you like, just as you are not obligated to like what they do.
The solution is simple—curate your own space. Block, filter, and move on. Engage with what brings you joy instead of wasting time spreading hate. Fandom is meant to be an escape, a place to create, share, and find community. No one should have to feel unsafe or unwelcome simply because their creative expression doesn’t match someone else’s preferences.
To those who have been on the receiving end of hate, know that you are not alone. Your love for the characters, your creativity, and your enthusiasm for this world are valid.
No one has the right to police how you engage with fiction, nor do they have the right to dictate what you can and cannot enjoy. If you need to step back for your own well-being, that’s completely okay. If you need to block, curate your space, or disengage from toxic discussions, do so.
Your mental health matters more than proving a point to people who refuse to engage respectfully.
Fandom spaces should be a refuge, a place where we share excitement, ideas, and headcanons, not a place of stress and hostility. If you see someone being targeted, offer support. If you notice someone being worn down by negativity, remind them that their voice and presence are valued. Small acts of kindness—reblogging someone’s work, leaving a nice comment, sending a supportive message—go a long way in making fandom a better place for everyone.
At the end of the day, The Rings of Power is a show. Middle-earth, as much as it means to us, is a fictional realm. We engage with it because it brings us joy, because it inspires us, because it connects us to something greater.
But no story, no ship, no character, and no headcanon should ever come before basic human decency.
Your space in this fandom is valid, and I hope you find the support and peace you deserve.
Stay safe, take care of yourselves, and let’s do better.

Unpopular opinion of mine (don't kill me): I don't like the Dad!Sylus au? Headcanon? Whatever it is.
I understand it is sweet, and I get, that man would be very happy having a family with the love of his life (and existence) and the fan arts are cute. I support everyone who likes and feels happy creating fanfics or art about it. So don't beat my ass please, I'm not saying it should stop.
But as someone who doesn't want kids irl and finds comfort on this game, thinking about mc pregnant (for context: I am the kind of player that self inserts themselves on the mc) makes me want to puke.
Am I the only one? 😅
I hateee pregnant bellies, they scare me and get me all weirded out. I also don't have this thing they call "mother instinct" or "baby fever" wish I should be having now supposedly (because older people tell me so *sighs*) because I'm almost 24. Babies for me are cute, as long as they're NOT mine ❤️
Like I'm wayyy to fucked up mentally to take care of a child, and mc and Sylus too, so I don't see it working. Also their life is full of danger, as much as they would want to, they can't completely shield their kids from danger, and that would be devastating.
I love and adore the idea of it being just the two of them, enjoying what they couldn't in their past life. Endulging in themselves and having no worries except for the normal ones (Onychinous, Wanderers bc she's a hunter). Having the freedom to do as they please and go where they please, just taking care of themselves.
This was more of a vent/rant, like I said I respect the people that adore the idea of Sylus being a dad, you go girl~ But for me it is like a pet peeve (yikes). I just wanted to get this out of my chest bc it's my blog and also I keep seeing fan arts and posts about it and I reeeeaallyy needed it out.
Peace ✌🏻💕

if Shaun is no longer a religious person, does he detest Ian more now, how hypocritical ian is especially if Ian planned proposing to Alice?
I'd say it's hard for Shaun to dislike Ian more than he already does just for how badly he hurt Alice. There are certainly plenty of personal reasons besides what happened to her that rubbed this cat daddy the wrong way as well.
Content Warning: this post contains talk about religious trauma, weaponized religion, childhood trauma, cheating, toxic family relationships, toxic romantic relationships, codependency, death of close family members, grief, mourning, and other such heavy topics.
Also just a quick reminder that these headcanons are what currently apply to Sunshine in Hell. I'm still in the process of building up the characters and their backstories for my personal telling of this tale so things might change later as I develop them more. The more I play with the characters, the better I get to know them and allow them to grow.
Shaun's Family and Religion
Shaun was never a religious person, not even as a kid. His exposure to it was mostly from his grandparents on his mother's side and his uncle Abraham Cofer, who're very devout Christians. Religion was a complicated thing for his family well before he was even born.
His mother Leticia Cofer distanced herself from her family when she married Shaun's father, Antwon Durand. Leticia became disillusioned with the particularly overzealous brand of Christian faith that her parents believed in and pushed on her all her life, and over time she taught herself to push back against them. In her teen years she dabbled in other faiths to find something that fit her better, and as a rebellion against her parents. Eventually she found comfort in Wicca and witchcraft. Naturally, when her parents found out, they hit the roof. There were screaming matches and they threw practically all of her things out, even if it didn't have anything to do with her new beliefs.
Needless to say, this abusive controlling environment pushed Leticia to move out of her parents' house the second she turned 18 in spite of their protests.
Antwon had always been Agnostic, with no real positive or negative opinions about religion as a whole. His philosophy is to believe in the things he experiences for himself firsthand. Also faith, or lack thereof, doesn't make someone a bad person - it's the choices they make and the way they treat others that decide a person's moral character. Let people believe in what suits them as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
That isn't to say Antwon was entirely unfamiliar with Christianity. He did have appreciation for the mythology of religions, particularly how crazy, dark, and creepy the stories could be. He loved the goth aesthetic and all things creepy and spooky in general.
Leticia and Antwon met in college and they clicked almost instantly. Although Leticia did move away from her parents, she didn't want to cut them out of her life and struggled to improve their relationship. Even though their relationship wasn't healthy and was very painful, it's not that easy to cut out loved ones, or forget the good moments they did have together. Antwon helped her reinforce healthy boundaries, which, naturally, her parents did not appreciate. When they found out he wasn't Christian, they made it no secret that they disliked him and constantly took passive-aggressive snipes at him. They would never approve of their daughter dating a "godless heathen," which led to many moments of friction between them.
Antwon helped encourage Leticia to embrace her witchy side and she in turn encouraged him to express his more unusual tastes openly without fear or reservation for what others might think of him. They became a real life Gomez and Morticia, creepy, kooky, and very shamelessly in love. They even had a midnight wedding at a haunted house, illuminated by candles with black and red as the wedding colors, including the wedding dress.
Leticia's parents threw a complete fit at this wedding that "spat in the face of God," straining their relationship even more. It got to the point that security had to force her parents to leave the venue. After that, they refused to recognize the marriage between Antwon and Leticia, as it hadn't been "sanctified by God," and even referred to Shaun as a bastard born out of wedlock.
As you might imagine, the connection Leticia had to her parents was dangling by a thread by the time Shaun came along. Despite all their many arguments, despite all the scenes made and hurtful words exchanged, she still wanted to have a relationship with them. It can be hard to cut ties with someone you love after all, especially when you've been seeking their approval all of your life. She tried so hard to make it work between them, but they stomped on her boundaries at every turn and tried to make her feel guilty for having them in the first place. Eventually, the only reason they were in contact at all was because, if she cut them off, that meant cutting off her brother Abraham as well, who lived with them.
Abraham served as something of a bridge between Leticia and their parents. He and their parents were practically a package deal. He understood that she felt stifled by all the restrictions put on her, as he had grown up with strict rules too, but he simply couldn't understand why she was going so far to "spite" their parents and their faith.
The reality was that Abraham didn't truly understand just how suffocating the rules were for women. He couldn't appreciate how harsh it was that they were expected to give up their autonomy to men, first their father then their husband. They were to defer to the man in their life in all things, to obey without question, to change themselves to suit what that man felt appropriate, and to practically treat the man in their life like God himself.
Abraham was raised to believe in his role as the man of the house, the one who leads in the name of God. The man speaks His word and always has final say. Abraham could never really see why that was wrong and why Leticia would hate "God's plan" for her so much.
Leticia wanted to hold onto the hope that she could open her brother's eyes to just how toxic their parents' and the church's teachings truly were. If she cut them all off, it was the same as giving up on her brother, who she used to be so close to when they were little.
Sadly, Abraham only grew more and more indoctrinated as the years went on as he got more involved in the church. He grew close to others of the same faith and followed in their father's footsteps, even inheriting the funeral parlor that their family had run for generations.
The relationship between Abraham and Leticia was strained by the time Shaun was born, but neither of them were willing to give up on the other. Not yet.
Antwon and Leticia decided to raise Shaun without any sort of religious teachings. They felt it best to let him decide for himself what he believed when he was old enough to truly understand the implications. This, of course, did not sit well with Leticia's family, as they were constantly trying to get her to stop acting "foolish" and come back to the faith. Their attempts got even more outrageous over time, growing almost unhinged after Shaun was born, as they wanted to "save this innocent child's soul from damnation." More than once they tried to get in contact with Shaun behind his parents' backs and teach him "the truth in God."
The final straw was when the grandparents managed to secretly get Shaun baptized behind his parents' back. He was too young to understand what was going on, or why he never got to see his grandparents or uncle Abraham afterwards. All he knew was that his parents were upset for some reason that they never adequately explained. It was only when he was in his late teens that he was told the full story.
Leticia and Antwon went no contact with her family for several years after the baptism incident. They only got back in contact again when her father died, shortly followed by her mother. Abraham and Leticia managed to reconnect and somewhat reconcile at the funeral after the loss of their parents. Things were tense but civil between them, at least for the most part.
Shaun didn't get to know his paternal grandparents, as Antwon's father passed before Shaun was born and Antwon's mother died while Shaun was too young to really form any memories of her. Shaun's few memories of his maternal grandparents were kind, at least as far as he was aware at the time, but then suddenly they and uncle Abraham weren't allowed to come by anymore. He had thought of them fondly, but learning the full truth cast a dark shadow on his previously warm and happy memories of them.
Sadly, in the present day, Shaun only has one living family member left - his uncle Abraham. His parents died unexpectedly - a fatal car crash. His only solace about the gruesome incident that took his parents was that they were at least together in the end.
The death of his parents hit Shaun hard. The three of them were so close, with so many common interests. His parents helped him flourish his love of horror movies and all things dark and gothic. They were his biggest fans, always cheering him on with whatever he wanted to do in life. They loved everything he made, even his haphazardly thought out and poorly edited analog horror shorts.
They were there to congratulate Shaun when he won his first ever independent film awards for the student film he worked so hard on in college. That film was what ultimately started his career as an up and coming director in the present day.
It was his last film they ever saw. The last time Shaun saw them in person, they were telling him just how proud of him they were, and how they knew that he was going to do great things.
Shaun was still in college when his parents died, and he was devastated. It was only with the help of his friends that he could handle it all.
It wasn't easy, especially when Abraham kept arguing with Shaun about the details of the funeral. Abraham insisted that he might not have been able to "save Leticia's soul from Hell," but he would be damned if her remains were not at least put to rest on holy ground beside their parents. He refused to accept that Leticia actually stated in her will that she wanted to be cremated, with some of her ashes made into diamonds and the rest scattered into the ocean. It was blasphemy of the highest order! Abraham didn't care what Shaun did with Antwon's remains, but he would bring hell to his nephew's doorstep to make sure his sister "came home" for her final rest.
Ultimately, for all of Abraham's poisonous words and protests, for all his declarations that Shaun would be damning his mother's soul to hell for his blasphemy, for all the shouting and tears between them, Shaun was the one with final say. His parents had planned ahead and left Shaun with the power over their estate. All Abraham was left with was a few parting words from Leticia to him in her will, and a few old keepsakes from when she was a child.
Abraham didn't attend the ash spreading ceremony. His parting words to Shaun was that the last of his family was dead and damned. Whether he was implying that Shaun was dead to him as well or that he didn't see Shaun as family at all, it was never clear. All that was clear was that he never wanted to see Shaun again. After all the hell Abraham put Shaun through, the feeling was mutual.
Not that it was easy for Shaun to cut off the only living member of his family that he had left. It would be years before he would tentatively try to mend fences despite their rocky past. Even though he has good friends by his side, a part of him still aches painfully for the family he lost.
But Abraham is nothing like Shaun's late parents. Try as Shaun might to open his heart to his uncle in spite of everything, there is no love between them, only a connection by blood that cannot stand against stubbornness, pride, and zealotry.
Religion, Collage, and Relationships
Rewinding things a bit, let's go back to Shaun's early collage days. The start of collage was a bright time in his life, one filled with hope and optimism. He arrived on campus his first day bright-eyed and excited for classes and to see who he would wind up rooming with. He was surprised when the college dorms didn't strictly go with same-sex matchups, but he wasn't about to complain. His new roomie was very sweet, polite, and even brought a batch of delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies to welcome him as her new roommate.
Shaun couldn't help but think he hit the jackpot. Alice was cute and a bit shy, but she warmed up to him quickly. She was also into goth like him! Sure she went for the pastel cutesy side of goth, but he was happy to be paired with one of his people.
They even had a class together during their first semester - a creative writing class that focused on horror. They sat next to one another and chatted often. Shaun found it so easy to talk to Alice and bounce ideas off of her. For someone so kind and soft, she could come up with some diabolical twists for a horror story, and he was only too happy to help her in return.
Shaun had experienced crushes before, but Alice was special. She wasn't just attractive, she was a good person that he enjoyed spending time with and was just so easy to have fun with. He wanted to see where things could go between them, but, sadly, his hopes were dashed when he found out that she already had a boyfriend.
It was... fine. Shaun insisted to himself that he would be fine with things as they are. At least at the start. He did his best to stop crushing on Alice and just be her friend, knowing that it wasn't going to happen between them. Unfortunately, his feelings for her only grew as they spent more time together. They became comfortable living together and shared many wonderful moments together. Try as he might, he simply couldn't stop longing for more.
Shaun has always wanted what his parents had. They're the ideal couple in his mind. He wanted a partner who just completed him so perfectly. With how well he and Alice clicked, he couldn't help but think, if only...
But Shaun was no homewrecker. He tried to shake off any romantic or sexual feelings for Alice and focused instead of becoming friends with her and Ian. More friends the merrier, right? If he and Ian became bros, then surely his crush would fade away, and he'd be okay with things as they are.
Only... Shaun and Ian didn't mesh well.
Shaun did try to get along with Ian, he really did! But somehow Ian always managed to rub his fur the wrong way. It wasn't just that Ian had shit taste in anime, but many little things kept happening that annoyed Shaun, small conflicts that didn't matter on their own, but slowly piled up over time.
Ian felt threatened by Shaun in spite of himself. Sure he would swear up and down that he was secure in his relationship with Alice, even convincing himself that was truly the case...
But Shaun got along with Alice so fast. Too fast. The only other person Alice clicked with so quickly was Ian himself, and that was because she was the one who reached out to him when they were little kids. She was always so wary of people, just like Ian. She understood how cruel people could be, such bullies...
Ian never suspected Alice and Shaun of anything untoward. How could he even dare think that way of his partner? He did try to get along with Shaun despite his confidence issues, but he couldn't help but compare the two of them. Shaun was tall, muscular, handsome, confident, charismatic, funny, witty, smart, strong, and overall just everything Ian didn't see in himself. Who wouldn't fall for Shaun? Even Ian's heart would've skipped a beat if he didn't have Alice.
Heck, Ian probably would've gotten a crush on Shaun if not for his jealousy and insecurities.
Alice and Shaun had so much in common... was it more than Ian and Alice had in common? It was hard for Ian not to compare their relationships, or to be extra clingy. What made his insecurity worse was the fact that he and Alice had been a couple for over a year now, but they still hadn't had sex yet.
They were adults independently living on their own. It... might be sinful, but everyone in collage talked about sex like it was nothing, and the two of them were in love! They were a couple! The church might think sex before marriage is wrong, but Ian was trying to shake off the toxic teachings of his mom. He and Alice had talked about sex before, and they both agreed that it wasn't wrong to have it outside of marriage.
The issue wasn't sinfulness, but something far more personal. Ian understood all too well why Alice struggled with physical intimacy, especially when she was still dealing with certain traumas, but it made him feel inadequate, as if he was lacking as a partner.
If Ian was someone like Shaun, could he and Alice have already made love by now? It was an unfair thought to have, and Ian knew it, but that doubt kept niggling at him every time he saw Shaun and Alice together. It seemed so effortless for Shaun to make Alice laugh and goof around, when it took so long for Ian to get that far with her. Even after all these years, he still had moments of awkwardness and insecurity even when it was just him and Alice together. Things developed so slow in their relationship. He was awkward as a child, coming out of his shell painfully slow and letting her take the lead far too often, then fumbling with his crush and trying to confess his feelings. It took him so long to get to this point, and things still were going slow! They kissed and cuddled, but her hesitance to take things further just made him feel all the more filthy and sinful for wanting it so badly.
Sometimes little doubts crept in Ian's mind, intrusive thoughts about Shaun and Alice living together. With how easy a time Shaun had getting close to Alice, it'd be effortless for him to take things further if given the opportunity.
Ian didn't doubt Alice for one second! Never! He knew her better than anyone. He knew why she was hesitant to get physical, why she was slow to warm up to people. Shaun was... he was her assigned roommate. She had to live with the guy, so she just wanted to get along. Nothing wrong or suspicious about that at all!
Ian knew how hard Alice tried to get along with others. He had the same struggle to connect with people... so why was it so easy for her to get along with Shaun?
With other people they interacted with, Ian didn't feel quite so jealous. Sure, he worried Alice would find someone better than him, but she was never as close to them like she was with Ian. It was an anomaly that Shaun had gotten so close to her so fast, which left Ian feeling insecure and especially clingy. It made him push a little more for physical intimacy and reassurance.
Alice did pick up on Ian's jealousy after a while, and she was quick to reassure him that things between her and Shaun were strictly platonic. In fact, Shaun practically felt like a big brother to her. She was the oldest child in her family, always responsible for all her younger siblings, and when she hung out with Shaun it felt like she got to be the younger sibling for a change. They joked around and had fun just like she did with her siblings, but she didn't have pressure of being the eldest and being in charge. The only person she wanted to be with romantically or sexually was Ian.
Talking things through did make their bond a bit stronger, and gave Alice a push to get more physically intimate with Ian, even if it was to her detriment.
Alice and Ian did always assume marriage was where they were headed. They did discuss it a couple of times, but as a far off thing in the future, something to think about in more practical terms after they graduated college. Classes and trying to figure out what they wanted to do with their futures was hard enough without pressuring things to go too fast with marriage. Not to mention Ian had a lot of baggage that had to do with the church's influence on marriage.
Because marriage was this nebulous, far away thing, Ian and Alice didn't feel the need to discuss the topic with their friends. Ian wasn't anywhere near ready to propose to Alice at the time either.
Though the thought of proposing did pop up when Ian was drunk and worried he might not get into that prestigious acting college in California. If he couldn't make it - and why would he - then maybe they could just be... together? He was so insecure that, even while drunk, he couldn't just come right out and make it clear that he was hinting at proposing.
Alice insisted that they would be together no matter what happened, and that Ian was definitely going to get into that school. She did catch what he was implying, but her focus at the time was reassuring him and making sure he drank water to minimize the next day's hangover.
When Shaun's parents died, Alice was there for him. Although Ian still had lingering insecurities, he supported her spending so much time with Shaun during that time. Just like after Alice's breakup later, she and Shaun had comforting movie marathons and slumber parties on the couch. She held Shaun when he broke down and cried despite trying to hold it all in. They were close enough for him to be vulnerable with her in his time of need, and he'll always be grateful that she was there for him and helped him deal with his uncle's horrible behavior.
Ian did try to offer Shaun support, but it was kind of fumbling, especially since he was still trying to figure out his own beliefs. Touching on religion was a sore spot for both of them, and Shaun, being worn thin from Abraham's toxicity, snapped when Ian tried to cheer him up by insisting his parents weren't in hell, no matter what Abraham said.
...
"No, they're fucking not in hell!" Shaun snapped, his eyes welling with tears he refused to let loose. "They're fucking dead. They're gone, and I'll never see them again. Ever!"
Ian stammered a bit for a moment, tensing up at the sharp tone that brought back memories of his mother lashing out at him for not placating her correctly. "I-I just meant that... I mean... you'll see them again someday in Heaven, I'm sure-"
"Shut the fuck up, Ian!" Shaun snarled, as all the little irritations with Ian built up and exploded out of him. "There's no such thing as Heaven, so stop feeding me bullshit trying to make me feel better!" He choked on a lump in his throat for a moment. "They're gone okay! My parents are fucking gone. When you're dead you're gone! Gone! Gone for good! You're gone and all that's left is a sack of meat left to rot!"
Ian choked a little himself. Unlike Shaun, he couldn't hold back his tears, his body quaking a little as he stepped back from the grieving man. "I... I'm sorry..."
Shaun took a deep, shaky breath to steady himself before turning away from Ian. "Just... just shut up, Ian. Things are shitty enough without you making it worse."
"I'm sorry," was all Ian could whimper as Shaun stormed out of the room.
...
Poor Ian did mean well, but he accidentally touched a nerve when Shaun was already raw and hurting. It certainly didn't help their already strained relationship. Alice could only do her best to try and soothe them both when they were upset.
Ian talking about religion did feel hypocritical to Shaun. Shaun didn't know all of the trauma and abuse Ian went through related to religion, but he did know that Ian was uncomfortable with the subject. Bringing it up in this situation in an attempt to soothe Shaun felt more like making fun of him at the time.
Even in the modern day, Shaun doesn't know much about Ian's home life. Ian wasn't forthcoming about it, and Alice wouldn't betray his trust by telling anyone something so personal. Even after the breakup, Alice wasn't comfortable mentioning such intimate details even with a close friend like Shaun.
So what little Shaun has pieced together over time is that Ian has "mommy issues" and may or may not be religious. It was never clear to Shaun with the way Ian sometimes would make religious-leaning comments like mentioning sin or Heaven. Shaun doesn't know what Ian's religious beliefs are and frankly doesn't want to know.
Although Ian couldn't do much to help while Shaun was mourning the loss of his parents, Alice managed to be a huge support for him. Even today he sometimes tells her that he doesn't think he could've handled it without her help.
Alice and Shaun did a good job of helping one another make it through tough times. Alice invited Shaun to come to her family's home during the first holidays without his parents so he wouldn't be alone. Halloween was especially hard for Shaun, as it was the most important holiday for his family. Being surrounded by the King family was a little painful in reminding Shaun of what he lost, but they were all so welcoming of him and kind. It made him feel less alone.
Though Shaun did find it a bit hard being around Alice's parents, as their relationship reminded him painfully of his parents. Ambrose and Lycoris are so lovey dovey with each other, just like his parents were. Although they made an effort to tone down the public displays of affection when he was around, it was impossible for him not to think of his parents when they looked so lovingly at each other. Close couples so deeply in love with one another would always remind him of Antwon and Leticia, at least a little bit.
In a way, spending time with the King family both helped and hurt Shaun. It reminded him of what he lost, but their presence left that empty space in his heart a little less empty during a time when he was aching with loss. Alice went out of her way to cheer him up and helped him feel part of the family.
It did help Shaun a lot more than it hurt to be an honorary member of the King family during holidays. When he healed more and noticed the hurt a little less, he felt a little guilty that a part of him wanted to become a real member of the King family.
Alice had become someone precious to Shaun by this point. His affection for her deepened beyond just a crush. She was his best friend. She had invited him into her family when he lost his. Her feelings for him might not be the same as what he felt for her, but she had become someone truly special to him. Although he tried not to, he did imagine what it might be like if he married Alice and joined her family as her partner. He could see her being his Morticia, just like Leticia was to Antwon and Lycoris was for Ambrose.
This guilty little dream did come back to bite Shaun in the conscience after Ian cheated on Alice. Sure, Shaun didn't do anything to sabotage their relationship or outright say that he wanted them to break up, but in his heart of hearts, a part of him did kind of wish for it to happen so he might have a chance.
The guilt just made Shaun that much more determined to forget about his crush and just be there for Alice as her friend. He didn't make a move, didn't even hint at his feelings. Whenever they popped up, he squashed them down as best he could and focused on helping her move on from a relationship he knew all too well now was far more toxic than he ever would've dreamed.
But it was hard. All the sleepovers, all the times Shaun held Alice so close in his arms... he wanted to kiss her and tell her how much he loved her... and he felt like such a scumbag for it.
In a way, it was almost a blessing for Shaun when he eventually had to move away for another college too. He didn't want to take advantage of Alice during such a vulnerable time. He stayed long enough that she was stable again after the breakup, but he needed space to clear his head. Alice had become someone who meant so much to him because she was there during a vulnerable moment in his life, and he returned the favor for her.
After learning about just how toxic Ian and Alice's relationship was with its codependence and lack of communication, Shaun knew the right thing to do was to take a step back. It was the best thing for both of them. The last thing he wanted was to ruin what they already had by doing things the wrong way.
Besides, Alice never thought of Shaun that way. Shaun might have had guilty hopes, but he knew full well that his crush was one-sided. The last thing she needed was to be burdened with feelings that she couldn't return.
At least, not yet. Maybe someday. He hoped. Or maybe he would find someone else who completed him in a way he never thought possible.
Shaun and Alice did connect right away, but it wasn't an explosion of love that swept them away like what Leticia and Antwon found with each other. What Shaun and Alice have is good and wonderful, but it's not that same passion. He might long for it with her, but that bond of love like soulmates isn't there, no matter how much he wishes that it might appear one day.
As sad as it is that Shaun's crush on Alice won't be reciprocated, the platonic love of friendship that they share is one that he will always be grateful for and will fight to keep in his life. Even if they won't be lovers, their friendship is still warm and wonderful.
Although Shaun won't get that wild spark of undying love and romance with Alice, I have a person or two in mind that he will find it with. Gomez needs his Morticia after all.
As for Ian and Shaun's relationship... I don't think it'll ever get better. Maybe it'll become civil at some point, but I doubt they can become friends. There's too much bad blood between them now. Their complicated pasts with religion was only just one of many factors that made it impossible for them to connect.
Shaun does see Ian as a hypocrite in a lot of ways, but the biggest way is claiming to want only Alice when Ian himself proved that to be a lie.

@silentcroworsmth Ah, yes. Yet another example of a person who apparently thinks it's not anti-LGBTQ to think that trans women shouldn't have a voice on women's issues or even have access to women's restrooms and that homosexuality is sinful. At least that's what your whole rambling reply in the tags makes me think about you. In my post on bowandbrush/Lexie, the posts she likes/reblogs are all very anti-LGBTQ. Her constantly complaining about Leosagi is just a smokescreen for her to express her very thinly veiled homophobic sentiments in an acceptable, vague way. She's not necessarily homophobic because she doesn't like Leosagi. She's a homophobe because she thinks gay people, homosexuals and homosexual acts are sinful.
Like I said in my post, a religion that condemns and discriminates against being LGBTQ+ isn't a religion worth following. There's pro-LGBTQ+ forms of Christianity too, so Lexie and her ilk have no excuse other than just being hardcore bigots.
Also, LGBTQ+ fans creating LGBTQ+ headcanons and interpretations of characters that appeal to them are fine. As long as no harassment's involved, it's fine. For example, gay people interpreting RotTMNT Leo as gay isn't an example of them perpetuating stereotypes about gay people. It’s just gay people resonating with and seeing themselves reflected in a character. I'm gay myself, and unless you are too, I'm not sure how you think you're qualified to have any opinions on how gay people can or can not interpret a character who canonically has no established orientation.
Besides, it's WAY more homophobic to get all pissy about queer rep in a fandom, like you and bowandbrush/Lexie seem to do by deliberately going on such posts to give the poster grief about how you don't think Leo's gay (X).
Also, also, I do make good content, unlike you, it seems. I write, I draw, and I call out anti-LGBTQ+ bigots in fan spaces. Honestly, I'm doing the work of Gay God here, stranger.
Bowandbrush is an Anti-LGBTQ+ Bigot
Bowandbrush (aka Lexie) is a self-proclaimed "Jesus Freak" Christian and rising-star TMNT fan artist who coincidentally enjoys complaining about the popular mlm ship of Leo and Usagi/Yuichi much like another anti-LGBTQ+ TMNT fan artist known as Mrabubu (aka Kishi) (for details, see my original post where I discuss the two in tandem, The (not so) Thinly Veiled Anti-LGBTQ+ Bigotry in the TMNT Fandom). Note: please read the alt text on each image.

Now of course, disliking a particular ship doesn’t necessarily make one homophobic. However, Lexie's Likes (and her Reblogs), which are currently public at the time of my posting this, make very clear the real reasons for Lexie’s dislike of the mlm ship and other representations of queerness.

This is a pretty open and shut case. Lexie is just your run-of-the-mill bigoted conservative Christian who thinks being LGBTQ+ is sinful according to religious dogma that supposedly denounces queerness. However, this religious dogma has been contested and debunked over the years. Regardless, there are LGBTQ+ affirming religions and strains of Christianity, and it should go without saying that any belief system that condemns marginalized peoples for simply being who they are is a deeply flawed belief system.
There are quite a lot of Christian fans like Lexie within the TMNT fandom who hide their bigotry well enough. Mostly going undetected and not being held accountable for their discriminatory attitudes that oppress marginalized people, all while having the gall to act as if they’re being persecuted when their prejudices are exposed and denounced.
Of course, bigots like Lexie in the fandom don't voice their support of LGBTQ+ people and their rights. Instead, they avoid mentioning anything about LGBTQ+ representation or when they do, it's almost always for the purpose of conveying a negative sentiment (i.e., repeatedly voicing their distaste for popular LGBTQ+ headcanons or wlw/mlm ships). They cultivate fan spaces that are LGBTQ+ neutral at best or LGBTQ+ negative at worst, where LGBTQ+ people and their representation is begrudgingly tolerated or outright squashed. And, in this day and age where enthusiastic and unequivocal support for LGBTQ+ people is necessary and crucial, this neutrality or negativity is inexcusable.
Barely concealed bigots like Lexie/bowandbrush do not deserve the space that they take up in the TMNT fandom. So, it'd be best to just block/ban/ignore/deplatform/exclude them and move on to greener pastures.

So my discovery of being aroace really changed my perspective on skk alot, so imma ramble about that.
I'll be honest, I saw those two as like, boyfriends, with an established romantic relationship and stuff. Now I kinda see them as having a queer platonic relationship. Partially because I feel like labels disgust them. They beat them back with a stick. Or gun. Or corruption. ANYWAYS, the point is that they are very close, but I don't think they're boyfriends. They support each other, be honest with one another (sometimes, Chuuya probably forces Dazai a bit), and just do a bunch of random stuff together, of course with a little arguing. So they're so close they have a relationship, but are they dating? No, they'd probably both stare at you in disgust I'd you said that. Then wtf are they? Partners. It's not really romantic, and that's kinda because I feel like at least one of them I'd aromantic. Which one? Who knows. Maybe it's both, maybe it's actually none and I'm just projecting. But also because I just think they aren't into having any romance. Can they have romantic feelings? Yeah, probably. Do they not want them and actively avoid them? Yes. So they're just soukoku, nothing more, nothing less. They are them, and frankly that little look back and a new perspective on them makes me really happy.
#bungou stray dogs#bsd#bsd dazai#bsd chuuya#bsd skk#skk#sokoku#aromantic#this is all just my opinion and headcanon#but yeah i definitely dont see them wanting an actual romantic relationship#or having one#theyre content being partners#being skk#they dont need or want labels#they are whatever they are#and theyre happy with that

does anyone else form their headcanons of marinette and adrien largely on the basis of "they have to be opposite each other"? like, creation and destruction, yin and yang, etc. like Marinette being late all the time and sleeping through her alarms? so she's probably a deep sleeper? So that means, by the laws of my lovesquare headcanons according to my brain, Adrien has to be a light sleeper. Marinette is a chaotic creative person and I can imagine her just having so much STUFF all around and living in organized chaos. so therefore Adrien likes his spaces neat and clear. (also something something creation and clutter vs destruction and emptiness) you know??? ???? ? adrien and marinette headcanons just cant be independent of each other in my brain. they are always intrinsically linked
#not to say they have to have opposite Opinions or Values or anything. just. personality traits and quirks#the more meaningless the headcanon the mroe they have to be opposite in me brain#adrien is a morning person so marinette is not. adrien picks at his food when stressed so marinette stress eats.#adrien drinks his coffee sweet in my brain so therefore marinette drinks hers unsweetened. this is the law#marinette tosses and turns at night so adrien sleeps stiff as a board#YOU KNOW!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? not necessarily having all the same headcanons as me but the gist of being opposites#buggachatter

To all the people who are spreading positivity and are engaging in conversations with me: big thank you! I was just in the mood to share MY silly little opinions/theories/headcanons. I’m not attacking anyone or even claiming my thoughts are correct and I’m definitely not forcing anyone to have the same opinions, etc.. If you are feeling threatened or upset over—MY—thoughts on a 3D man, well, I have bad news for you.
The Love and Deepspace fandom is so weird like what do you mean you’re attacking me for voicing my opinions/theories/headcanons??? We are here to have fun and discuss things, right?
#come on it’s rafayel’s birthday#enjoy it and have some fun#I was just curious and tried to make sense#what I’m saying could be 100% wrong#doing opionions/theories/headcanons just for fun#don’t like it? definitely fine with me but literally jumping me over a 3d man? really?

demigods who know how to cook:
leo — he and esperanza valdez would've cooked together. besides, his life in foster care was rough and he had to fend for himself, so learning to cook was a necessity.
frank — he had to look after his grandmother, and he seems like the type who can fold an impeccable shrimp dumpling.
hazel — she and marie levesque could've cooked together, though hazel had to rely more and more on herself as marie grew more distant.
annabeth — she seems like she would've taken up cooking as a practicality/means to survive, especially since she ran away from home at such a young age.
demigods who don't know how to cook:
jason — he was raised by wolves. enough said.
percy — he knows about as much as an average teenager who's been raised by a loving parent. probably can make pasta and blue pancakes, but that's it. wouldn't be surprised if he tried to microwave an egg.
piper — i think she would've had a housekeeper or a nanny to cook for her when her dad was away (given how well-off and successful tristan mclean is). though she seems like she'd be the most successful out of these four.
nico — he was stuck in the lotus casino for 70 years, idk if this boy even knows what a microwave is.
#pjo#headcanon#heroes of olympus#these are all my opinion they are not canon#idk i just thought percy microwaving a whole egg and screaming when it exploded was funny#i myself have NEVER microwaved a whole egg and got flashbanged so hard i have egg trauma idk what u mean#pjo headcanon#percy jackson#leo valdez#frank zhang#jason grace#annabeth chase#hazel levesque#piper mclean#nico di angelo#coquettemouse's “leo can cook jason absolutely cannot” post inspired me

you ever just have a lot, a LOT of feelings all at once about a character and not even remotely enough words or brainpower to FORM the words to describe everything you're feeling. so it feels like you may explode. yeah
#sorry i got really into my feelings about mark hoffman again#the very specific version of him in my brain that i really really wish i had the time and energy to properly share with you guys#saw#well until i muster the energy to explode all of my feelings out into a fic. if you want to TRY and understand#know that my three biggest hoffman fic insps right now are as follows#your best kept secret hoffman. a series of mistakes hoffman. and rushed like a dreadful wind hoffman.#there is a very clear throughline just know i am extremely emotionally compromised rn#thinking about theee fics vs the canon path hoffman spirals down#something something the absolute tragedy of watching a man's descent into madness#the transformation of a man into a monster#and what could have saved him from himself and kramer's corruption#sorry i'm rambling so much oh my god i was just having such a crying fit out of nowhere about this#do you think he could feel it happening. do you think he was aware he was losing his mind.#the script version of him fucks with me so bad. the crazed rankings and the longer hair and him not being well kept anymore#it's impossible to think he didn't know he was deteriorating#fuuuck okay i need to either chill or write a whole longfic rn#i project on that guy so much i truly don't know if i could properly write my vision of him#until i do something more substantial the full extent of my hoffman exists for me and my boyfriend only. they get me like no one else#well ginny and jenna also get me. please read best kept secret and a series of mistakes Oh My God#where am i going with this. i like tag rambling actually this is a nice way to do it without forcing EVERYONE to read my delirium#anyways if you've read all of this i think i love you? feel free to dm me about hoffman and my very specific headcanons and aus#maybe soon i'll try and start writing my fics about this tragic man#i could never say any of this on twitter btw they'd string me up for my opinions on him as a sad wet beast who could have been fixed#if only he hadn't been weaponized first#god i'm too tired to even be as embarrassed about this as i should be. thought i unlearned cringe already#but i've been spending way too much time on twitter and they HAAATE hoffman there#rip. i know it's not that serious but i'm sensitive rn and hate feeling lonely in my thoughts#ok bye for real otherwise i'll never shut up. i might tag ramble more often bc this was therapeutic in a way i needed badly#cat chat

quite honestly if bruce doesn’t want to kill the joker, the best way for him to deal with him and ensure he never hurts anyone ever again is to build an underground one room bunker that’s soundproof and made of lead in the middle of the sahara or the amazon, drop his ass inside with like 100ish years worth of supplies, weld the door shut, and then walk away. he never tells anyone what he’s done and he never writes it down anywhere. that information lives only in his head because he knows no one will ever be able to torture that information out of him. i think the only person he might have to give a vague heads up to is superman. because if clark sees a underground bunker made of lead he’s definitely checking it out. so, i think bruce would just be like
bruce: hey, clark, just so you know there is an underground bunker in the middle of the amazon and it’s made of lead and it contains the most dangerous thing on the planet. it must never be opened.
and because it’s clark, he would be like: do you know what exactly is inside it?
bruce: yes.
clark: and to keep the world safe, i just have to do nothing and ignore it?
bruce: yes.
clark: okay.
eventually everyone would forget about the joker and on his deathbed, he’d tell dick about the bunker and dick would tell jason. together dick and jason would go and pry it open and just see a very old joker laying in his bed still laughing and without blinking jason would just shoot him in the head, they would reseal the bunker, leave, and never discuss it again.
but that will never happen because of bruce’s dogmatic and immovable morality. he will always catch the joker, he will always give him a trial, and he will always send him back to arkham. but if i got control of dc comics i would make him do this.
#i truly feel that after all that time dick would absolutely let jay kill the joker#like bruce definitely just told him so that someone would know#and definitely expected him to not do anything and not tell anyone#but dick totally waited till the funeral was over before immediately telling jay everything#they definitely left to find him like 10 minutes later#dc#i’m begging you dc let my boy develop better coping skill#i’ll settle for just one SINGLAR good coping skill!#like just give the ability to effectively communicate his feelings just a little!#i’m BEGGING you!!!#he has so many kids and can’t effectively communicate with any of them!!!#dc comics#batman#jason todd#batfam#batfamily#batkids#batman comics#bruce wayne#dc batman#the joker#joker#red hood#dick grayson#robin#nightwing#my lil opinion#dc headcanon#batfamily headcanons
