What make you think Dean is not a bottom?

i’ll never understand why 99% of spn fandom are so convinced he is a bottom with men when he’s canonically 1) straight (he said so himself multiple times, also jensen confirmed it) 2) homophobic (he HAS said things that are kinda homophobic and since he’s not canonically not straight, those things are just homophobic) 3) if we’re talking about wincest then it couldn’t be more obvious from their canon interactions that his primal urge is to possess/control sam in every aspect, including physically, and also regain control that john took away from him when he was younger (which also explains his repressed enjoyment of violence & sadism that he’s ashamed of). i often see shippers say that he “just wants to submit and be vulnerable” but i don’t get that vibe from him at all, especially when it comes to sam. on the contrary he is often shown to be physically violent with sam and he goes unhinged every time he loses a bit of control over him (which partly comes from his unhealthy obsession with the ideal version of sam). he enjoys having that power/control over sam because it gives him the feeling of stability, he feels confident when he knows sam belongs to him. also just because he lets women take the lead in bed doesn’t mean it’d be like that with sam because dean has completely different needs when it comes to their dynamic

can i just say. and this is probably a niche hill to die on. that i am so gobsmacked every time someone vaguely hints at the idea that jotaro doesn't care meaningfully for the other crusaders, usually particularly kakyoin and joseph, when those two actually tend to be the ones he reacts to being hurt the hardest

like he cares for his loved ones!!!! that literally plays into his character motives in every single part he shows up in!!! stop lying to me!!!!!!!

reading the dunmeshi manga really makes u realize how inherently awful the perspective on ryoko kui's world building is in anime only fans. like if youre a fan of the anime and wanna have a well rounded and functionally accurate view of this work I really recommend swallowing ur pride and reading the manga, it gives a lot of perspective that's missed in anime form. at least in my opinion/experience (genuine)

I was watching a YouTube video about the x-men movies and the fox/Disney mess. And the youtuber in the video said how fox does the total opposite in the movies compared to the comics. about how they made "short and ugly" wolverine into "tall and handsome" in the movies. when I tell you I almost screamed like it was a fnaf jumpscare. because I CAN SEE. I think the reason that MTMTE remains the most defining, influential, and loved series in the IDW1 run is fundamentally because, despite its many flaws, MTMTE has the power to make you think and wonder about the world beyond what's shown on the page. The character relationships are so strongly developed that it's easy to care about the characters and easy to imagine further adventures they could go on. While the myriad dropped plotlines, underwritten/underutilized characters, and worldbuilding with weird implications are all fucking maddening at times... even if it makes you mad, MTMTE makes you mad because you care and it makes you want to immerse yourself into a world that feels like it's real beyond what's explicitly shown to you on the page. It's a sandbox of a story where there's so much fertile ground for pretty much anyone with any preferred character archetype, storyline, etc to dig in.

It's just... immersive. That's the best way I can put it. It feels like it could be real and it makes you want to spend more time in it than the constraints JRO had. It makes you want to know more about it and come up with theories on how/why things function or happen the way they do. That's why it's loved and that's why it's the best series in IDW1.

Johnny Cade appreciation post because he’s the guy the gang could talk to and the one who they knew would listen. He’s the guy who Ponyboy could watch movies and sunsets and read books with. He’s the guy who Dallas loved so much he felt he couldn’t live without him (even just in the split moments in which he died and then Dallas did). He’s the kid who wanted his parents to care about him, despite their beating and degradation on his existence. Everybody needs a friend like Johnny. I love Johnny.
