How did Treasure Planet manage to come up with the greatest aesthetic in all human history? Victorian elegance plus space-age flair, with just enough dirt and grime and wear and tear to make it feel real? A combination of traditional and computer animation that perfectly embodies the movie's blend of old and futuristic? How does it get any better than that?

One of my favorite merthur scenes is Merlin’s “I didn’t want you to feel that you were alone” and it’s so beautiful for so many reasons, but what I don’t see ever mentioned is the moments right after Arthur opens the doors. Merlin doesn’t look at Arthur or give any indication he’s awake until he says Merlin’s name.

I think it’s so special because he’s giving Arthur the choice of what he wants to do. He can leave Merlin there and be alone or he can ‘wake him up’ and have a friend. He knows Arthur might not want to engage with anyone after an entire night spent with his deceased father. It’s a beautiful, understated act of consideration, love, and empathy.

Chuuya's reaction to Dazai getting hurt during the Lovecraft fight has always been so interesting to me...

Because it's the kind of worry you'd never expect from a character as gruff as Chuuya, who had displayed nothing but hostility towards Dazai so far. Usually, characters that are labelled as "angry" or "anger issues" (which Chuuya is much more complex than that but you get my point) act more as a tsundere type of way when the one they "don't care about" gets hurt. And show their care in very, very subtle ways (ex. their eyes widen, their mouth parts and closes again, etc) before putting up their front once more.

Chuuya, however, is open, and vocal about it. His worry is clear not only to us, but to Dazai himself, the one he shouldn't be displaying the concern to (as per the cliche). Shouldn't it be some sort of secret that Chuuya does care? Isn't that what skk's dynamic has been shaping up to be until now?

I'm telling you- the way my mind blanked when Chuuya just casually.... showed concern not once, but twice, was a sight to see.

Besides, the context makes it much more confusing, because Dazai isn't some rookie, and Chuuya knows that more than anybody. He was the youngest executive in Port Mafia's history, of course he can handle a hit or two. Of course he'd seen him handle a hit or two, sometimes without batting an eye.

Heck, Chuuya himself was hurling Dazai like a ragdoll in their reunion, which was their last meeting. And you could argue that he was going easy on him, but Dazai has mostly withstood the same damage (as far as I could see), and Chuuya was as bitter as ever.

So that kind of contradicts both what we knew of Chuuya so far, and how their dynamic was shaped to be. I mean, that just makes Chuuya a hypocrite, yeah? What makes him care now, all of a sudden? What makes him care at all?

Well, to me, this backasswards reaction implies one (or more) of the following:

- Dazai rarely got physically hurt during their partnership and thus this is an unexpected thing for him to see (during a mission).

- The four years of separation made Chuuya unsure of how much Dazai can withstand physically now. Also the fact that he isn't in the mafia anymore, aka fighting enemy organizations on the weekly, would naturally make Dazai lose his touch in a way, what prompts Chuuya's reaction.

- Dazai getting taken off guard took him off guard which led to panic. Especially since the situation was (momentarily) out of their depth. Seriously wtf even was Lovecraft?

- During the dungeon scene Dazai was an enemy, while in the Lovecraft fight he was as an ally. The difference might be significant to Chuuya.

- This has always been Chuuya's reaction to Dazai getting hurt regardless of the situation.

- "Only I can hurt him like that" ahh logic

- Asagiri was still experimenting with their dynamic and thus there are some inconsistencies.

This scenario didn't play out again (after their reunion) for me to exactly determine which one is more plausible, but it is 100% canon for Chuuya to shamelessly show his concern and run to Dazai to check on him before properly dealing with their opponent, which I find to be such an appealing layer to their dynamic, and a good spin on the type of character he gets stereotyped as.

Bonus: Dazai also becomes a softy when Chuuya's hurt, especially post corruption. Dead Apple alone displays that multiple times.

All in all, Skk are doing a terrible job at maintaining their 'hostile' and 'antagonistic' relationship post their reunion. Freaks.

Grogu likes Din’s mustache.

So I’m hella excited over the third season coming I just pray we get some more of Din’s feelings about his past, so I finally drew this little thing I’ve been thinking about for a while ;v;

I firmly believe wearing a helmet for your whole life is no reason to not style yourself like you want, so let Din have a mustache if he wants™!, but also I like to think he looks at himself on the mirror and can’t help but think of his dad :’) so he keeps the mustache.

Also pls let Din adopt Grogu and show him his face when they’re alone!!!!

Sky helps Wild with cooking and it's the cutest thing ever

Ok ok so first off, Sky made a spoon for Wild to use while cooking

Obviously Wild was worried he would break it, so I headcanon that Sky remakes it for him if needed, like Four with his sword

Also in Timeline Talk 1, we see Sky helping Wild cut up food

I love this detail because Timeline talk 1 is Wind and Time talking, but Sky and Wild are in the background chopping ingredients and asking questions.

Like look at them! Chilling and cutting stuff! Sky is very good at woodcarving and cutting anything else, and Wild is obviously amazing at cooking. The detail of him helping Wild cut and prepare food here is so cool to me

I think Sky is probably very grateful to Wild for cooking for them, since he was always fed in a cafeteria at the knights academy

We have two (that l've seen) times where Sky is deliberately trying to help, by making a spoon for Wild to use, and helping cut up ingredients.

I think overall Sky tries to help Wild with cooking, and I love that so very much.

Thinking about Mav being unsure of what Ice's eye color is

Of course he's not going to do the normal thing and ask the man, so he settles for finding ways to get up close and personal to try and see for himself without being obvious (-> he fails)

But every time he gets a close enough look they're different. One day they look blue but the next they look hazel. One moment they look brown but then he turns his head and a different light catches on them and they look almost green

It turns into one big game of "How close will he let me get? How much will he let me see?" And it's not until he's gotten to the point of being a breath away from Ice's face- close enough to brush lips- and standing under the bright white LEDs that he realizes that they're gray

Listen, Alan the tortured writer and sad pathetic little meow meow is totally fine. But what about Alan Wake the man. The husband. The reason of Alice's sleepless nights. The reason why he keeps trying to get back home. Because he misses his wife. Dumb jokes in the bathroom in the morning. Kisses on the temple. Making each other a cup of coffee. Loving text messages during the day. Naughty ones too. Hands roaming all over. Groceries shopping. The eternal "what do you want for dinner" question. Looking at old photographs. Falling asleep in front of the TV together. Alice picking up his worn socks. Alan complaining about how long it takes until she gets ready for the day. Holding hands. Casual butt slapping. Spontaneous movie dates. Making out at parties when nobody's watching. Him burying his face in her hair because he likes the scent of her shampoo. Comfy clothes on rainy Sundays. Alice ignoring his bad singing under the shower. Making love in the middle of the night. He misses all of that. He sits in the writers room, curled up in the corner, and he desperately tries to remember what she looks like.

One thing I was so sure I did not want from this show was for there to ever be a situation where it seemed like TK and Carlos separating was even a possibility. They're soulmates! I wanted that to be unthinkable. Something that was never even on the table.

Then, in this episode, we're presented with this conflict that is a potentially relationship-breaking conflict. TK is not going to let his brother get sent to boarding school. That is very clear! He isn't going to force Carlos into this, but if Carlos ultimately does not want to take Jonah in, I don't think TK would be choosing his husband over his brother here. It would DESTROY TK. It would ruin his life! But he's not going to be able to abandon his brother.

So the show did the exact thing I thought I never wanted to see. And you know what? I LOVED IT. I loved every second of it!! I think it was so incredibly well done.

And I think the reason it didn't bother me when previously I thought I would never want something like this is that, while this situation could be relationship breaking, I know it isn't going to be. Not just because we've been assured time and time again that Tarlos is endgame and they're getting a happily ever after, but because JUST LOOK AT CARLOS' FACE when he talks about Jonah and when he looks at pictures of TK and Jonah 😭 Carlos already loves that little boy and he loves his husband so much!! He wants this. He just needs a little time to work through it, particularly given the extreme situation and immense grief and trauma he's going through.

It's VALID of Carlos to need a minute here. And I think it's VALID of TK to be committed to helping his brother and unwilling to back down from that. The conflict between them hurts, but that's just going to make the resolution that much more beautiful! It's SO BEAUTIFUL 😭
