I think stanning them is the single most boring thing you can do to a character.

Like, I love Iruka. Iruka's my blorbo from my manga since my teens. He's a caring adult who used to be a conflicted kid hiding his sorrow with laughter, what's there not to like? Him speaking his mind about the chuunin exam spoke to me for extremely relatable reasons. He's my projection character.

And you know what? There's nothing more interesting to me than exploring his faults. Please let's discuss his lack of self-control, getting so riled up during the chuunin exam nominations. Let's talk about his failures with regards to Sasuke, who had good grades and didn't act out so Iruka didn't pay him much mind even though Sasuke should have been flagged as a traumatized child. Iruka playing favorites. Iruka using his connections to keep playing favorites because he's worried... about his favorite. Iruka not fitting the shinobi mold. Iruka being lame. Iruka who spent years being a stern teacher to Naruto and apparently didn't think worth mentioning that he saw and appreciated Naruto's efforts until it was almost too late. Iruka failing.

Anyway, stanning is the single most boring and unproductive and dishonest thing you can do to a character

Just concerned about the optics if they are framing it as them marrying for love it does look suspicious that right after Ædan’s wedding they get engaged, and I think the pro-Helene public would be quick to assume MC was cheating on Ædan with his brother while they were engaged.

They're just really bad at being good people because they have such a big mountain to climb!!! No one is completely good and they show that even after making so many mistakes that you can still become a better person, even if you struggle and take time !!

AITA for hosting a party for my friends?

My friends got murdered a few months ago (don't worry they're fine they got treated for murder) and I (23M) was severely in debt so I decided to host a holiday charity party to raise money for their condition. The thing is, because I'm severely in debt, I couldn't get any gifts for them. The only thing I had for refreshments were water bottles and Spree candy canes! So, I spent a nickel on some shitty ass video games to give to them on behalf of me. And these were some REAAAAAAL bad games too, but it was all I had to offer.

Well, they didn't like them all too much for some reason and now they're pissed! I went through all that effort, and now they hate me for some reason. AITA?

If you're a better person than me you should definitely get sandwich ingredients, but if I ever get them I will eat an entire loaf of bread or package of buns in like 2 days and feel very bad about myself.

I generally don't like the pre-made cook at home grocery store food, since they aren't really better than the frozen versions IMO when they're a bit more expensive and a bit more annoying.

i think it's because people don't always use it with the intention to insult autistic people, not because they're making an exception for specific groups. it's true that some people use that word in actually discriminatory ways, but a lot of people use it more casually than that, just using it to refer to people who are just not acting intelligent. it even appeared early on in homestuck(not to mention siivagunner and dragon ball. yes, gohan used that word. i am not joking)

just go ahead and try that with the N-word. that's right, you can't. (and shouldn't)

16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

i do love a canon divergence au, esp of the fix it variety... hold on (one more time with feeling), said the rabbit to the badger, what happens when the river dies and the skeleton living inside your head (rattling and gasping, coming up for breath) come to mind for dsmp (faves for when you need some softness on the soul... okay river dies is less softness and more staring at the ceiling in a good way). wrap-around and double agent vader au are faves for star wars canon divergence also

besides that i'm a reaaaaaal sucker for aus where characters are stuck on opposing sides of a conflict. superhero aus with a hero and a villain, fantasy aus between different creatures who aren't supposed to get along, all that. love it. sometimes not executed super well but man when they are they slap beyond anything

OH and time travel-y aus/time loop aus..... they're not always my jam but there are some absolute classics. i think seeing more niki-centric stuff there would be cool too

36. Do you visualize what you read/write?

yes!! yes yes i have a very strong visual imagination when i write, i need to be able to see everything in my head to write it. for the aus specifically hmm.... recently i have done little sketches and thumbnails and stuff for what the characters actually look like in those aus to better imagine things. or even just googling stuff. like i've been occasionally pondering what superniki's outfit would look like, and landing on her probably refitting and tailoring PPE to build out her fit (esp bc fire powers.... she needs that fire resistant fabric). i blame this 100% for why i get caught up on small details in fics like how niki puts her costume together is not really a Key Detail of the au but how will i picture + describe her pulling apart her gloves and sleeves to mend the burns on her hands without knowing exactly what she's wearing hmmm. how will i write any other character trying to guess her expression while she talks without considering what face coverings she actually has hmm. and so on
