Honestly I'd really like to see a mxtx3 story where wwx and xl work with Sqq to reveal sqq's true backstory and the system to lbh.

I mean, think about it!! One of the biggest problems with scum villain is how even though they get together, unlike the other couples bingqiu is still left with all these huge secrets that massively affect them both. Lbh is left believing he married his mercurial abuser, that his suffering passed some sort of indefinable test that proved him worthy of basic rights. That Sqq threw him in the abyss of his own volition. That Sqq was really sacrificing his life and not faking his death with intent to survive.

Sqq is left knowing all these things but unable to act on them, unable to tell his husband about his own past, unable to explain his actions, never able to fully let his guard down because he's supposed to be shen qingqiu. He can't even tell his own husband his original name!! If he could have, he would have, even if only in the extras!

But can you imagine???

A meeting of bingqiu, wangxian, Hualian, for whatever reason, and as the three (actual) protagonists chat and gossip and get to know each other, as they talk, Sqq is at ease enough to slip up and finds out he can talk about the system to anyone from outside pidw! Not just sqh!! Maybe not completely, but he can mention some, and the other two, concerned for their new friend, are clever enough to tease the rest out. They're horrified. Sqq is resigned but freshly hopeful.

And so begins Mission: Save Sqq's Marriage!

(Sqq would very much like to contend the title but he is out voted.)

I'd just love to see the three of them (with unquestioning aid from their husbands) get up to hijinks and face existential horrors on a quest to help bingqiu get the closure they need. And moshang too, I guess XD.

It'd also be very, very funny to have them all in the middle of the latest traumatic and/or mortifying scene look around at the other two like 'hey, aren't you supposed to be freaking out now? This is normally the part people start screaming' and the other two are like 'I mean I guess?? We've got things to do though' like kings of unflappable repression right there.

(and lbh and lwj having vinegar-offs while hc is sighing dreamily watching his husband make semi decent friends for once)

Like there's a bunch of crossovers but none really scratch that itch, you know? The main characters of all 3 mxtx?? There's so much potential for Truly Unhinged Shenanigans!! Wangxian visiting pidws wife plot filled world and disappearing into the wilderness for a full week, coming back with every single piece of clothing they brought ruined. Hualian go visit mdzs and and no one believes xl is a diety and hc chomping at the bit to kill them for the injustice. Bingqiu going to tgcf and lbh getting mistaken for a calamity, or Sqq falling into the one wife plot kidnapping or something intended for a diety.

But seriously imagine Sqq complaining about something and wwx and xl immediately going 'that's not right! You deserve better!!' and Sqq is like 'no it's fine I'm used to it' and the other two slam their fists on the table like 'no!!! If [husband] was forced to keep that kind of secret I'd hate it!! You two deserve to be properly happy!! Let us help! We can fix this!' and start working with zeal and vigor while Sqq trails along embarrassed half heartedly muttering 'it's not that bad >:/'.

And when it works (presumably some clever loophole they stumbled on) and bingqiu are tearfully kissing they share a low five without looking. Or that one meme where the person getting kissed holds their hand back and their wingman enthusiastically high fives it but there's two wingmen XD!

I don't knowww but it'd be such a good premise! Ripe for character interactions!! Fluff! Crack! Angst! Daytrips and pouring their hearts out to people who'd really understand! Xl wwx and Sqq bestie team up! Meeting moshang! Wwx info dumping about his monster index categorisation to an enthralled Sqq! Xl and Sqq bemoaning etiquette while wwx laughs at them! Xl and wwx having intense discussions about morality and righteousness! All three of them laughing at how oblivious they were about their husbands, each trying to one the other two for Dumb Moments They Should Have Realised (Sqq wins by horrifying the other two)!

Forget cross country kidnappings and being locked in a room! Where is my protagonist trio getting into trouble on a self imposed mission to help their friend! Let their magnetism for insanity shine!!

Atrocities are committed against multiple groups in multiple parts of the world at the exact same moment, and none of them erase each other. They all matter, all the people in this world who are being brutalized matter. There shouldn't be any line you draw where one group doesn't actually matter as much as another

You're welcome to prioritize your energy towards helping one group or another, but what's not ok is invalidating or dismissing people who are actively being harmed

Same goes for trying to figure out which social group has things worst (and lets be honest, always using a US lens)

Like... maybe the important thing is to prop each other up and help everyone get on their own feet rather than trying to... pick fights about if physical disabilities or mental illness are less respected (I'm trying to pick a more absurd example but sadly I've seen exactly that argument happen before). Maybe it doesn't really matter and what matters is helping who we can when we can

I'm tired of it, I'm just fucking tired of it. Support people, champion them when the world is just brutalizing them, but you don't need to throw a single other person under the bus to do that

Gah this has been the focus of my last two posts so this will probably end up being me just rehashing the same things BUT. I don't care, it's my post. I'm just so endeared to the idea of intense arguing being vettonso's special thing(irl, but specifically in this au.) Again, to anyone else, it comes off as very aggressive and worrying. Like wow they really aren't getting along well, is this marriage gonna crash and burn before it even really begins? Whenever they start up, people worry they're gonna have to pull them apart like fighting dogs. But, no. It's their thing! They don't get at all why everyone around them gets nervous. You call it arguing, they call it a passionate debate , a conversation even. I would use the word “friendly," but they would probably get annoyed at that. The ladies doth protest too much, methinks…

It's very interesting too how they personally view it though. Clearly it's a point of familiarity, and something they can bond over. They also fiercely defend their right to argue, I mean debate, and absolutely HATE when anyone tells them to lay off the other, like "Hey woah we're having a debate here, if you can't handle the heat, get out of the hearth." If anyone tried to get involved and defend one of them or something, said person would get annoyed at the intrusion. Imagine someone butting in and being like, “hey stop being so rude to the Emperor, this is so disrespectful!” Seb in return would yell at them, “HEY DID I SAY YOU COULD SPEAK!? WE’RE HAVING A PRIVATE CONVO RN!” Ignoring the fact they’re talking so loud that people across the continent could hear it. But, at the same time, as I said, they would deny it to an insane decree if anyone, god forbid, accused them of actually getting along.  

They're both very argumentative, demanding, opinionated people. This is obviously very hard for most people to deal with. Like, oh my god, stop turning everything into an argument, I’m just trying to make polite conversation! They've spent a lot of their lives leading up to their courtship sulking because no one will fully engage them in the way they desperately want to. Even when people do, it’s way too passive, and just ends up getting uncomfortable. Also, they hang around a bunch of yes-men most of the time so it makes sense why they aren’t getting too challenged, because it would be extremely discourteous. But then they majorly enter each other’s lives. I like to imagine it begins with one of them making an innocuous statement like "I prefer blue to red." The other can't help himself from saying "um actually red is superior bcs of xyz." And he's smacking themselves in the head internally, like oh god, he's gonna start bitching, isn’t he? Not that either of them really care deeply about offending other people, but rather it's such a hassle when the other person isn't willing to debate, and goes on and on about how irritating it is. Like damn okay, coward, I don't need your whole spiel about it. But then the other man gets a glimmer in his eye, and goes along with it. Boom. Fireworks.

she's not a fan of crowds.

it isn't just a matter of her social battery running low because chiyo can handle that, tough it out if she has to. it's the fact that her personal space becomes so much smaller when there's so many people nearby; it's the fact that she can't see over her taller neighbors; it's the fact some of them don't seem to notice when they're in the way, and she just wants to get out of the throng and breathe. being in the middle of a crowd makes her feel like she's in a room with the walls all closing in on her.

but it helps that rayo is with her that day, distracting her as he rambles about the game he's recently picked up that he's sure she'd enjoy, too. it's easy to drown out the rumble of the people squeezed into the train that afternoon when he's so excited, a smile stretched across his face that's genuine rather than just for her benefit. it makes chiyo smile, too, and she opens her mouth to ask about the co-op mode when the train comes to a stop.

she glances up at the digital sign. they've got another stop before they need to get off. chiyo readjusts her grip on the metal pole in her hand, turns her attention back to rayo. and then the influx of people comes.

very quickly, chiyo decides there isn't enough room in this stinkin' train car for this many people. strangers shuffle in closer, cramming themselves within the the small space; she stumbles as the train begins to move before the lot of them are quite settled, but rayo stops her from knocking into someone else. his hand is warm upon her bicep, steady and grounding.

" thanks, " chiyo breathes, trying her hardest to not look as agitated as she feels. why do trains have to be the fastest way to travel a city? they suck.

someone brushes against her back, and instantly chiyo's pressing closer to rayo, all tense and glancing over her shoulder. when she's satisfied the touch wasn't intentional, she looks up at her friend to gripe a little and realizes, oh. he's kinda close, close enough that she has to crane her neck to meet his eyes, close enough that their chests brush when chiyo takes a deep breath. heat rises to her cheeks, heart fluttering in a way that it definitely shouldn't. chiyo glances over her shoulder again.

damn. she's got no place to go.

" sorry, there's just-- there's a lotta people. " chiyo tries to smile, but it feels awkward. she tries not to breathe too much, hyperaware of the warmth emanating from rayo ( she's drawn to it like a moth to a flame; she fears she'll burn just the same, too ). " what, uh... what about the co-op mode? have you tried it with niko or gaia yet? " that's right. breathe -- but not too much! just keep talking, act normal. you're fine. he's fine. this is fine.

her grip tightens upon the pole. rayo's smile is back, just as dazzling as before, and again, her heart flutters nervously. this is fine. it's fine.

A bit of a follow up to my last post, I actually used to roleplay Noah in a multifandom server I was in. In other words, he was meeting and interacting with characters from completely different worlds and universes.

Needless to say, your boy finding himself in a world where literally no one knew who he was turned out to be a blessing in disguise for him.
