My fave marauders ships and dynamics as a multi-shipper !! Ok so, there are certain ships I like to imagine as canon in the canon universe, and there are other ships that I prefer in aus and such but still ship them so much!! So I thought I’d just ramble abt them here lol.

My fave ships that are canon/I think I should be endgame:

First off, Jily ofc. My loves. I’m generally not super excited abt str8 couples but they’re just too cute. My fave dynamic with them is that they’re academic rivals — well at least lily thinks they are, James is just hopelessly in love with her and enjoys competition lol. Lily thinks he’s an idiot, immature and a bit of a bully at first but slowly warms up to him as she sees his kind-heartedness and stance on justice. Plus, she’s always found him a little hot :)

Wolfstar, duh. I don’t think I have to go into detail coz I already do so much on my blog lol.

Dorlene — aaah I love my tragic, angsty lil lesbians. Sucker for the quidditch-rivals-to-lovers trope. Ooh and i headcanon Dorcas as transfem. But yeah if you’ve read ‘the hands that feeds’ by rollercoasterwords that’s basically how I see their dynamic.

Fralice — cuties and did not deserve the ending they got ;((

Rosekiller — ok, ok. I know I’ve ranted abt how I don’t like the fanonization of their characters in fandom,, but I will admit I do like them together. Especially when they’re depicted as the awful people they are lol. I like to think that they’re still hooking up in GoF on nights where barty’s poly juice wears off lmaoo. Also random but I hc Barty to be in ravenclaw.

Pandora x Xenophillius (idk how to spell his name) — I like to imagine Pandora as a goth who runs an underground magical weed business and Xeno as a hippie weirdo and conspiracy theorist. Both are bi/pan tho and have def hooked up with ppl of the same gender before.

Andromeda x Ted Tonks — iconic. Love them. Andy was the og rebellious black family child.

Emmary — love, love this ship. For context, I picture Emmaline as a little older than Mary (maybe 2 or 3 years) and they meet when Em’s at the order. Mary’s a bisexual girlie who’s predominantly been with men at this point, and Em’s a big Butch lesbian who loves Mary so much but isn’t sure if Mary likes her back, at first. Ofc they end up together after the first war but when Em wants to join the second war, Mary oblivates herself and retreats to the muggle world entirely because she cannot bear more pain.

My fave ships that I like to think are semi-canon, as in their unrequited, or right person wrong time, or both have feelings that the other doesn’t know — they just don’t workout for some reason:

First off, Marylene — my absolute fave, right person, wrong time ship. Love the whole, ‘Marlene loved her too early, Mary loved her too late idea’. I’m a sucker for best friends to lovers ahhh. I imagine that Marls had crush on Mary since they were eleven and came out to her later, and although Mary was supportive she didn’t like her back at that point. Then Marls got with Dorcas and maybe Mary got a tad bit jealous. And then Marlene was killed ofc so Mary moved on and went with Emmaline, but she never really stopped loving Marlene.

Nobleflower — bi narcissa and Alice rights!! I like to think that they had a bit of a homoerotic friendship back in their hogwarts years, but the fact that they were on opposite sides eventually pulled them apart. And so Alice gets with Frank and Narcissa with Malfoy. Aaah so tragic I love them

Lily x Remus — I like to think Lily had a little crush on Remus when they were younger but she got over it and they became besties !!

Bellatrix / Lady Zabini — Toxic murder comphet lesbians!! Tho I imagine they ‘broke up’ their fling coz Bellatrix was murdering with pure blood fascism in mind,,, and lady Zabini was just like,, why can’t we just kill ppl for the sake of killing them?? 🥺🥺

Jegulus — ok so I don’t like jegulus as a canon(ish) ship, buuut I love me some unrequited jegulus, specifically from Regulus’ side coz sorry I just personally don’t see James ever liking Reg in canon. I imagine Reg goes into hogwarts wanting to hate the guy who stole his brother but ends up falling for him just the same. He has internalised homophobia and hates the fact that he’s gay, esp for someone like James lol.

Bartylus — My hc is that neither of them liked each other romantically, but they settled and got off each other to pass time. It’s transactional, at least it’s starts off being..maybe barty’s a little more into it than reg thinks they are.

Peter/Bertha Jorkins — I like to imagine they dated for awhile during hogwarts — until Bertha got bored of him and dumped him. Peter never really got over it and was still bitter.

Peter/Sybil — oooh I remember this one was trending on marauders tik tok awhile back but I’m still not over it. Happens after Bertha/Peter. Sybil breaks up with Peter maybe coz she gets a prophecy that he becomes evil. Peter is confused and heartbroken.

Snily — ok hear me out!! I don’t care for their portrayals in a lot of fics coz I think the pro / anti Snape bias is always there — but I would be open to exploring the complexity of their dynamic in a fic when snapes actions aren’t justified or excused, but he’s not portrayed as a one dimensional bad guy. And I think it would be interesting to explore more of Lily’s character and why she stuck by him so long.

Ok, now onto ships that I only enjoy in aus:

Marylily/macevans — by far my fave ship in aus. Best friends to lovers >>>> also half the marauders edits saved on my phone are marylily edits lmaoo they’re just so cute!!

Jegulus — requited this time!! If it’s an au and James is not reduced to a generic sunshine people pleasing character, then they’re a little cute I’ll admit. Not the biggest fan of the 'best friend's brother' trope but the drama is entertaining at least.

Mary/Dorcas — I don’t think they’re a very popular on here but I personally like it. In a way they’re opposites but they’re motivations are a lot more similar than they realise.

Pandalily — so, so cute. Fanart is spectacular

Dorlily — so academic rivals to lovers coded

Prongsfoot — specifically in aus where James and Sirius are on opposing sides, for example, slytherin!Sirius au

Wolfstarbucks — James and sirius share everything!! Including their lovers apparently. Mostly enjoy it as a crack ship tho.

Arrhgh, how can the writing have turned out this well, what sort of witchcraft?!? But seriously well done I’ve already read the demo about six times and I’ll just keep on reading it again because I really do enjoy it so far. 💞💞

Thirteen’s intro was just amazing somehow exactly what I pictured but nothing I would have thought of. Very chaotic, very fitting. Assaults two random people, absolutely terrifies the other, then turns to VP, waves, and the whole time they’re blasting Nightcore in their helmet. What. Forget the club apologizing when they finally meet them, I’m just imagining starting a betting pool and absolutely cleaning everyone out.

And Mona, dearest Mona. Just tossing a whole person into a dumpster, then casually resuming her day. And Noooooo, not the she could throw me in a dumpster and I would’ve thanked her for it option, honestly made me start cackling, because yeah I agreed but still the way it was written. 😂

Sam, sweet Sam. (Are they still going to change their name to Ash?) Just, how can you make a potential criminal that adorable? Mooshling? The absolutely eager and slightly awkward intro? (I would punch a cop in the face… pfft. I wonder what it says about me that I find that cute.) I’m not trying to (infatalize?) them, but Sam is absolutely incredibly adorable and sweet. (So far anyway)

Dane. How could you. Do you want to twist the knife a little more, maybe you’d like some salt to sprinkle in my (mental) wounds. It went from aww to ANGST in about half a second.

I have a lot of thoughts on the VP’s experience in prison so far, but the message is already getting way too long, but if it’s alright with you, I’d like to send another ask about it. My mother and grandmother were both nurses in prison and my grandfather was a doctor (at a supermax even) and just Damn. VP is really going through it, the Warden, the guards, The Doctor (oh the doctor) are criminals as well. It’s, gah, it’s infuriating.

thirteen is such a blast to write because fam is the type to bust a move before bringing a foot to an enemy knee. they're the only one who deserves the instagram reel comment of "bro hit the emote button mid fight" and it'd be true. chaotic.

mona has so many moments like that. she might even have a fun story to share about the rest of the crew and dumpster (or dumpster-adjacent) shenanigans ;)

sam is still changing their name eventually! it'll come later in the story and is the result of a long introspective phase which the vp can help with if you so choose. it'll also open up their backstory a bit! it's very tragic and it really shows the strength it's taken for them to stay as sweet and kind as they are. can't wait for you to read it!

and dane. oof. yike, even. tho i'm glad that the switch from aww to angst was so quick because that's the effect i was going for. real hard conveying the 20 year friendship in only a few pages of work, had a real struggle there lol.

911 s1e2 Part 4 (previous part and part 1)

Poor girl, I feel for her 💔 She’s obviously hurting so much and mourning but she decided to track down this firefighter she was mean to (not without cause, ‘cause Buck was pretty tactless) to apologize. And also to explain the situation to him, I wonder if she noticed he was also feeling guilty about what happened

Okay this is really interesting. Because the therapy session ended when it did, Buck got to the heart of the problem but they didn’t really talk about how to move on. Realizing you have a problem and what exactly that is is just the first step, overcoming it is a completely different ball game. It doesn’t just come naturally!

But I like how they went about this: he struggled, talked to his friends (and a therapist) about his issue, listened to their perspectives and then took from them what he found most useful. Abby’s words clearly had the biggest impact on him and helped him the most (which makes sense because it was really good advice)

I also like that he made the biggest progress when talking to someone else who was struggling. Dealing with someone else’s fears and thoughts is much easier than dealing with our own. Seeing the sister feeling guilty for her brother’s death made him realize that there was nothing she could do which in turn meant there was nothing he could do

Mmmh I’m a bit torn on this one. On one hand I’m loving Carla’s energy and attitude and what she’s doing for Abby (taking her out, encouraging her, convincing her to call a cute guy), but on the other I’m not feeling this Abby-Buck thing at all. I can’t really put my finger on why tho

I also think Abby SHOULD think more about herself and have fun and go out with a guy if that’s what she wants, but does it have to be Buck?

I don’t know, I liked Buck’s kind words to Abby in the first episode and Abby’s advice to Buck and how that played out here but can’t we just leave it at that?

Maybe this is part of the reason why I feel weird about this? Buck doesn’t know her so there’s no reason for him to act so differently with her. “I won’t meet you because you’re special and I don’t want to ruin this” YOU BARELY KNOW EACH OTHER

I think this feels like… how do I say this? If I were to ask the writers “where is this coming from, why is this happening?”, the answer would be “because we said so” and not a word more

I’ve barely seen them interact tho so maybe that will change… they’re not even together or going out so maybe I’m getting ahead of myself

This scene is so cute! I may not have liked the lead up but this scene was worth it.

Abby being so happy she had the nerve to call Buck regardless of his answer, Buck’s answer actually being mature and kind, Abby understanding the rejection with no drama… this is really really cute and a good message

HOW FHE FUCK DID WE GET HERE WE WERE HAVJNG SUCH A CUTE MIMENT WHAT

THIS IS ONLY EPISODE THREE

What the fuck guys, like for real. In three episodes -THREE EPISODES- we’ve had one of our main guys being fired, hints at Bobby’s tragic backstory, and now one of our main character’s daughter doing this? I would expect this kind of heavy storyline from a season 3 or 4 not episode fucking three of season 1

And of course it’s a cliffhanger

This is why Kim is the realest to me. He asked for none of this and just rolled with the punches when most ppl would have either kept their heads down or fucked off. Objectively The Best. (SHFKFKFJJD Try telling Kim that Tony is his new owner—see how that goes down 😆)

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE FICS! The KentaDean one is basically written just for the two of us. “The system works” LMFAO RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN ACTION? Dean thinks he’s being SUBTLE but he has the BIGGEST puppydog expression when he wants something, like he emotes SO much in comparison to Kenta and Kim.

There’s something to explore about the difference between possessiveness (what Dean wants or thinks he wants) and protectiveness (what Kim will actually provide).

I will send you five million more words about my ideas once you’ve had a chance to read the fic, since it expounds a lot on what I mentioned before and also just my feelings about our doggies. Also I’ve got like, various heat scenarios to talk about as well!

I'm honestly like. mad about that fic lmao I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote a whole bunch of it in my notes app and then when I woke up the next day I CLOSED THE NOTES WITHOUT SAVING. devastated. have to start from scratch. BUT now I'm like. it would probably work better from Kim's POV? but then I'd have to rewrite this which I really like lol :(

When Mr Tony had told Kenta to organise for Kim to be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel, he definitely hadn't meant for Kenta to do the chauffeuring himself. But finding the loopholes in Tony's orders was how Kenta managed his life these days, so he was waiting in Arrivals in his usual black suit with a printed sign at 6pm the following Tuesday, surrounded by a group of men attired and be-signed much the same. Which was probably why Kim didn't give Kenta a second glance as he walked up. No big deal; Kenta’s used to being overlooked. “K’Kim?” he asks in polite confirmation, although he recognises Kim very well from the photographs he’s studied. Kim gives him a nod. This time he takes a good look at Kenta, sharp eyes sweeping from his carefully styled hair down to his perfectly shined shoes.

anyway then they go to Kim's hotel room and hook up and it starts from there.

Kim in the last few episodes is the BEST. he's just like "time fro breakfast! sure I'll chase down a teenager for a phone. sure I'll come along and beat up Winner in a funky jacket. sure I'll join your racing team and adopt north and sonic as my babies."

I NEED A FOLLOW UP I NEED A SPECIAL EPISODE OR A SEASON TWO. I hope we get something, even tiny crumbs, from the fanmeeting coming up. until it happens I can live in hope lmao.

!!! NOT THE KEYS THAT'S PERFECT!!! oh for sureee Kenta wears his basically all the time. its definitely black leather, right? he has a day collar something like this. or it says return to owner with Kim's details!! and then he has a more substantial collar for when they're at home, with rings for attaching a leash or ties to. yessss Winner. he doesn't care about it but also he should be given presents especially if other people are getting presents! I feel like his collar is red. probably leather as well. spiked!! or maybe something like a martingale collar so it's fine until someone pulls on it. imagine how pretty something like this would be for Dean though! or was thinking like an actual chain necklace/choker so he can wear it all the time and it's all delicate. I'm just imagining them all at the club or whatever, I think Kim deserves to hook his fingers in Kenta's collar while they're sitting drinking and pull him in until he's practically in Kim's lap. or maybe dancing and Kim tugs Dean's shirt down to show off his neck and Kim's claim.

IT WAS SO GOOD as you could probably tell by the insane comment I left. Dean has NO POKER FACE WHATSOEVER he's so easy to read!! how did he get away with any crimes!

the bad guy mv….DELIGHTFUL. even if it was just singing and dancing I love it with every part of my heart.

we keep putting Dean in this situations because he's….so pretty when he cries and is all emotional. BUT LIKE. Kim's not even stopping anything with Dean! in my head he's not even really starting anything with kenta, he's just being supportive and helping the guy integrate into society like a functioning human being. but of course nobody can use their words. Dean alwasy goes from 0-100 INSTANTLY. "It’s physically impossible to be jealous of Winner" LMAOOO. so true. askjfh PAINNNN. Dean definitely thinks he wants possessiveness - I think that's why the polycule works because Kim does offer protectiveness but I think both Winner and Kenat go for possessiveness. Winner because they're HIS things. and Kenta because he's had so little and can't lose any more. Kim is like. "unhealthy! but also…kinda hot." sometimes you just want a dude to go a little bit feral over you. okay.

!!! SEND HEAT RELATED THOUGHTS IMMEDIATELY. we should also talk about designations. I think in the show they're all just. not alphas. but personally I cannot write Winner as anything but an alpha. I tend to go for the other three as betas except for the fics I started early in the show with Kenta as an alpha lol. and I just started messing about with a sci fi au where perhaps Kim's suppressant chip malfunctions and it turns out he's not a beta and now he's about to go into heat in a very cramped ship... but I'm pretty sure I can be convinced any way for these four lol.

Hi! Thanks for your ask! This is a good question, and this is my first ask so don’t apologize! Currently my mains are

Dazai/Chuuya aka Soukoku from BSD, I really like their dynamic, just the familiarity they had when they came on screen for the first time together. I think Bungou is really well execute though, so S2 showing that they still can come together and pretty much treat each other the same way / exasperation with no heat? And then the light novels are soo helpful too! I really think they’re sweet for each other, and I just think that’s neat! Plus there’s so much to unpack with their relationship! Yeah Chuuya wasn’t happy when Dazai left, but did he really resent him for it? Did he take it personally? What are they going to do now? All they do whenever they’re together is their best to protect each other.

Gojo Satoru / Geto Suguru from Jujutsu Kaisen, the tragedy! Oh man! It took me a bit to get on board with this, but I’m in for life now. It was the “My six eyes tell me your Geto but my soul knows otherwise.” I haven’t looked back. Gojo so shamelessly admitted that and Geto fighting back? They actually remind me a lot of Soukoku, with the obvious being Gojo = Dazai and Geto = Chuuya, but also Gojo was the one who got left just like Chuuya. So much went wrong for these two when it didn’t have to! If Geto had just took the time to explain, if he didn’t stubbornly try to rationalize his mistake, if Gojo had not taken Geto’s words at face value, if he’d’ve pushed a little more. I really love the impact they had in each other. Geto is the reason Gojo pushes for a better future for young sorcerers (does not seem like it’s going that well) and Gojo was the reason Geto wanted to make the world a better place for sorcerers.

Sun Jing / Qiu Tong from Tamen De Gushi (Their Story), a Chinese manhua. The story is just so cute, innocent, and straight forward. No screwing around, misunderstandings, annoying drama, etc.

Galo / Lio from Promare - this movie was so good! These two are really cute! I’m gonna say they’re semi-canon …

Hua Cheng / Xie Lian Heaven Official’s Blessing. Tragic characters when separated but together work towards their best future! Love it.

Cheng Xiaoshi / Lu Guan from Link Click I watched this on a whim and was so impressed by the characters and story! Im super interested to see where their relationship will take them, especially after what’s been revealed in S2, which I’m still reeling from! I am eagerly waiting for season 3!

Yeong-sin and Seo-bi from Kingdom (kdrama) even though they don’t interact much, them being the only two survivors of the zombie epidemic in Jiyulheon is really what sets them a part for me although anytime they’re around others they act like they don’t know each oher.

TodoDeku was super cute in a very innocent kind of way. I liked that Todoroki was the first person who wasn’t Izuku’s friend who to saw his potential and see him as competition. I haven’t followed My Hero since S4 tho.

Yoruichi / Soi Fon Bleach; I felt Soi Fon’s devastation, to be joined at the hip and devoted and then abandoned and left behind. Yoruichi is merciless, she didn’t gaf lol.

Speed / Trixie sealed in by the 2008 Speed Racer live actions. They were crazy in the anime.

Astrid / Hiccup from the HTTYD film franchise, what a power couple.

Nancy / Edward from Enchanted, they are wasted by Disney but they’re oh so cute!

Aurora / Phillip from Sleeping Beauty, they are also wasted by Disney.

MY REVIEW ON PSYCHO PASS PROVIDENCE- part 2

SOME ISSUES (and THOUGHTS) THAT I NEED TO ADDRESS:

I still don’t get the reason why Prof. Saiga and Prof. Stronskaya made the paper. What are they aiming with that? Did I miss something? And conflict coefficient is too much like crime coefficient. This is personal reason, but honestly conflict coefficient is much more reasonable than Sybil. At least, they don’t judge based on how cloudy people are.

I like Saiga and Kougami relationship, and for once we get to see Kougami use Keigo.

No hate, but idk some people debate over Kougami calling Frederica by her name. Akane also called her like that too, except she always use -san, like she did with Shion-san. Kougami also address Shion with her name and nothing happen. He’s just comfortable with both of them, I think. (idk how close they were, need novel)

Why Azusawa never appear on this movie? I thought since we don’t know anything about him in PP3 we somehow have explanation in PPP, with Shindou especially. Well, I despise PP3 anyway, pls don’t ask me why. I appreciate PP staff work tho.

Sugo is cute, loyal hound to his inspector. He’d make quick call, inform anything suspicious to Akane.

I find it funny Kougami act childish in this scenes:

He clearly keep his distance from Akane and div 1 after he and Akane’s convo late night call, even Saiga asked him. He only dare to look at her face again after their body almost exploded with c4, meanwhile Akane from the first time act as if nothing happen. Nice writing, I guess.

Until PPP, I think so many characters have died. And their death is almost have no meaning nor progress to the story (yet with Saiga’s case). PP is dystopian anime, I get it, the story is dark and tragic, I get it, but why they shown so many death after s1? No, it’s not meaningless, it’s actually create situation or drama (for ex Sugo killed Aoyanagi), but not with audience. They don’t make us fully feel related or attachment to the character, but suddenly they’re gone. (like entire div 3 on PP2.) This is just personal opinion, but Saiga’s death is kind of ashamed, they shouldn’t just kill him as a mere bait for Peacebreaker, it’s too bad. There’s so much potential to his character in the future instalment if they ever make one :’(

Akane running away to fallen Saiga is kinda throw me off. Why not help Kougami or Frederica first? This is out of character. The old Akane would never.

I like that Akane bursts in front of Kougami in elevator scene. When it’s just the two of them, she actually lower her wall because in my case, I never want to cry in public or in front of strangers. Well, she cried near the fountain holo before though, but you get the point.

Kougami sympathy to Akira.

Akira is precious, that’s it. Everyone who watch it already know why.

Just for a brief second, I can see Akane’s eyes shaking when she heard Kougami’s tone on the call. She must be aware he’s in pain.

The scene where Tonami had possessed Akira, Akane could have done so much more or at least TRY something. Where’s the badass Akane we always adore?

Akane always have puppy eyes for one man and one man only. Guess who?

Those puppy eyes can kill me.

Also, I find this script is irrelevant. In the hospital, first Akane relief that Kougami is unhurt, then suddenly he said ‘my mistake’? Why is he suddenly apologize, lmao.

Sybil is a bitch. After Yabuki and Shindo’s tasks done, they told Shindo to just die. Sigh.

I HATE that Tonami has low CC. In s1, we only learn that people with low CC can’t even commit crimes except being asymptomatic, and suddenly this new villain who basically terrorist has clear hue just because he feel sympathy to low life and wants fairness for them (cmiiw). He kill people for God’s sake! This shows inconsistence of writing and will create plot hole in the future. And for Akane’s case, I tolerate it probably because Kasei isn’t actually human.

Akane is so strong, she has been shot twice by Tonami, yet she can speak clearly, even sit. Meanwhile we can find waver in Kougami’s voice on that call (he only get one bullet on his thigh.)

I find this interesting.

Akane is NOT aware that Tonami is about to shoot her. If she knows, would she see Kougami’s sin differently? But after much thought, I think it’s still wouldn’t change a thing, because she wants to arrest Tonami. But dude, Kougami shoots because he can’t lose her, if he shoots his leg or hand or whatever, anything could happen and Akane would’ve been died. If I were him, I’ll shoot his head also without hesitation. I wonder if she understand that she’s at stake.

Who transfer Sugino to SAD? Akane?

Imagine Kougami’s feeling when he can’t do anything to stop Akane. Wow.

Akane’s decision to do that is actually admirable, she honour Shindo and Akira’s death.

PART IV of my super long aotd thoughts (and prayers) commentary/analysis extravanganza🤪

warning: spoilers. repetition of words/expressions hehe. badly written (english is not my first language lol). looong text. curse words. biased opinions because this is my blog and i get to do with it as i please.

this is the last part!!!

smacking fiesta!: they made a fire for Murderface awww my fucking HEART. i love that this movie insists on making a point that people should take responsibility but not victimize themselves. case in point: yes Nathan fucked up when he wrote the wrong song (tho again, that was actually part of the prophecy) because he decided to surrender to hatred, sadness and overall give up on his responsibilities. it’s great to see him take the blame(?) however yeah, Pickles did good at reminding him that this is no time for him to drown in self-pity and doubt himself. making a mistake is NOT equal to being an incapable person. Nathan should not doubt his own skills, quite the opposite, this is the time for him to believe in himself, trust his bandmates and push forward. also yes after season 4 and a portion of this movie, i admit it’s cool to see Pickles taking out his stress on Nathan lmao. on the other hand WOW??? why does Nathan Explosion fall from a slap, that must’ve a hell of a smack. the little “quit hitting me :(“ was cute aksjdhas. Murderface feeling better and thanking the guys is so precios he’s so baby in this scene. and i love that this is actually not the first time Skwistokface have felt weird when Pickles and Nathan fight like a married couple (throwback to Writersklok) and that’s so CUTE. he says “should we get going?” to the guitarists while Pickles does a shock therapy on Nathan or something and ugh they’re such a family. i again absolutely love that Magnus is in the notebook. it means so much to me that Nathan straight up says he’d want for Magnus to come back, somehow, so they could fix their friendship. it makes the suicide so much more tragic and it made me very sad but that makes the message much more powerful. forgiving and apologizing, taking responsability and knowing your own worth are central to the message of the movie and i really really like it. someone pointed out thath “i’m just a gear in the wheel of the clock” is the very first line of mtl and i’m happy Brendon brought it back to close this story. and for fans like me, that spent over a decade loving this show is beautiful to hear this once again while Nathan Explosion himself discovers the true meaning of it.

mommy on the wheel: ok yeah i love Pickles bla bla bla i think he’s very very cool in this scene. Pickles is my favorite, Rehabklok and Skyhunter are one of my favorite episodes/songs so seeing him drive again WHILE SOBER is so so important to me you don’t even know. and yes the line “Toki be a good boy and bring mommy his scotch” rearranged the chemicals in my brain tysm Brendon Small, i’m officially insane.

plugging-in: YES EDGAR JOMFRU SWEEP!!! i’m sooo happy he’s back and is central to this section of the movie. he’s a very important character so i’m happy we get to see him interact with Dethklok in such a cool sequence and i’m also thankful that he threw a sandwich to Crozier. it was deserved. the plug-in sequence is very cool visually AND thematically, seeing the guys fly and be at the center of such a complicated operation is cool, i’m a fan. we also get more exposition, i LOVE that only here the guys Finally remember the dethlights and start to comprehend their place in the prophecy. i’d love more of this (dethklok realizing the true reach of their powers) because it’s a very short scene, but well, you can’t have it all. when Nathan slips and falls off the wing(?) and Pickles screams “Oh no, Nathan!” yeah, Nickles wins once again. usually i’m not a fan of scenes where the characters start giving a speech in the middle of an action scene but it’s cool here. for all we know Nathan must be constantly thinking he will die at any time so it’s valid for him to want to get sincere and cheesy. also yes it’s so so important for me (and for Pickles) when Nathan finally confesses to have never had anything with Abigail. i like that he was honest and vulnerable not because of himself but because the others deserved to know. he also recognizes it wouldn’t have been right and that’s some good shit. the entire message to Abigail, “wherever you are in this world (…)” was so heartwarming. i do think Nathan and Abigail could have been a great couple (especifically after Nathan’s character development, not before) and this line is the basis of that. he realizes that showing appreciation is not limited to fucking someone and then jump to a relationship. he respects her and that will stay that way even if they never connect on a romantic level, and i adore that. on a personal note: as an aro, this scene made me cry. Nathan recognizing how much someone can mean to you and at the same time letting them go/not ending up with them is a message i can connect with to a personal level. wanting them to be happy as you are ready to part ways and focus on yourself (when Nathan says “i’ll grow stronger”) is a beautiful message. AND (yes sorry this section is practically me projectiong and making everything personal) THE LINE “because i’ll always have my relationship with music” IS ALSO SO IMPORTANT TO MEEE. i too sometimes feel like i can connect more with music than with people and to hear Nathan Explosion say that made me feel so validated, so accompanied.

gay elevator: EVERYONE say thank you Edgar for bringing back Toki’s teddy bear. say it or else. if your homie grabs your shoulder, looks into your eyes and calls you mommy, that’s a flirting i’m sorry i don’t make the rules. and i don’t care what anyone says “i’ll see you on stage” is code for “i love you so so much” case CLOSED. “this one’s for Knubbler” HELL YEAH IT IS !!! wasted opportunity to give them the armor in this scene oh well. wasted opportunity to have Toki speak in norwegian here or something since they are in Norway but ok. SOS being both a distress signal to the fans and an acronym for Song Of Salvation is GENIUS. Crozier+Edgar was not in my bingo cards but oh boy i am so happy to see it.

fuck you and your beard old man: Nathan Explosion is the man of my dreams. he’s so fearless and so smart and so so beautiful i will kill a god for him i don’t care. also yeah fuck you Salacia don’t talk to him like that. Toki a kombucha is not a meal please ajsdhkajshd. Pickles ordering for Nathan is so CUTE !!! those are soulmates right there UGHHH. and Pickles looking at him so fondly while Nathan ponders the idea of marrying his drummer right then and there??? wow THAT’S just…wow. i keep winning. when Nathan tells them “i think we’re going to die” and their reactions it was both hilarious and sad. they really are just some: dudes. they’ve faced dead before but here they are, freaking out in a jail cell together. i love them so much FUCK. missed opportunity for another band hug. dethklok in handcuffs walking in the snow is a great visual hear me out. also dethklok crucified in a spinning death-disk is such an amazing concept too. Nathan repeating The Gears to himself is so IMPORTANT TO MEEE. watch me doing the same everytime i have to face an important decision/task. the people with the masks look hella cool too. Nathan has the biggest brain ever! and he’s so so brave and strong i LOVE HIM !!! i love how he sacrificed himself mirroring the countless klokateers’ deaths throughout the show: ready to serve a bigger purpose. Pickles touching his face and turning to see the guys with a worried look is UGH. Edgar Jomfru will be missed, he was such a badass and he singlehandedly did so much for dethklok and humanity. Skwisgaar putting his hand on a distressed Toki saved my life yup yup.

Salacia is a dorito: fuckkk stop killing the fans dude. THE DETHLIGHTS!!! now that’s an epic meet and greet with your favorite band. GO INTO THE WATER SONG OF THE CENTURYYY and my favorite song to listen at the beach. the WHALE IS BACKKK!!! i’m so happy with that ending, the fact that dethklok, as powerful as they are, were NOT gods after all and were only there to help the whale is a concept i’ll never get over. so so so damn cool. we get to see how fucked up it is for the boys when the powers leave them and it’s so uncool and unglamorous i can help but love it!!! Skwisgaar my man i love him so much he really has been in Toki’s arms for ¾ of this movie he’s living the dream. and yesss that teddy bear is stronger than Salacia, we love an immortal legend. the ending sequence is cute. is short and very cheesy but i love it. it’s a love letter for the fans in universe and irl. i am so so happy. WE are the army of the doomstar. i love that when Nathan starts speaking with his heart he CAN’T STOP. he’s so sweet i love him. and CHARLES LOOKS SO GOOD IN THAT LAST SHOT I WANT TO LOOK AFTER HIM AND CURE HIS WOUNDS AND KISS HIS FOREHEAD. and yup the movie is over and i’m hyperventilating and shakingand crying.

Their relationship started off as what you could say fubus but one night Selene realized she was looking forward to their pillow talk more than the sex. As for Astarion, he slowly fell for her.

4. Their favorite physical feature on each other?

He loves her freckles. They’re scattered all over her body and he likes tracing his fingertips against them.

Selene loves his eyes. So expressive.

9. How open are they with their feelings?

There’s no point on hiding how each other feels ever since she became a vampire too. I went behind the vampire bride/Dark Kiss theory for them, so they can read each other’s minds basically. They have telepathic shit going on between them 🙃

13. How do they react at being away from each other?

The only time that they were away from each other was during their breakup. And they missed each other. Terribly. (Insert Top 5 Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms After a Breakup 💀)

17. Their ways of expressing their love.

Selene writes an abominable amount of songs about him. He provides her basically anything that she wants. At one point they move to Waterdeep because she feels more at home there. (Which was only a half truth, the other half being that she knew that living in the Szarr Palace was only making him worse). Besides, Waterdhavian galas are on a different level!

21. Personally, do you think they are a good couple?

Healthy? No. Not at all 😭 (oof) but they fulfill each other’s desires like no one else can. They have the obsessive type of love. 🫣

24. Is there any moment that happens between them that you know happens and just makes you melt?

Throughout their journey, Selene gave Astarion torn pages from her journal containing some sketches of him with little poems scattered about. He has kept them in his breast pocket ever since.

They also speak elvish when they’re alone together which I think is so cute. Selene gets to speak in her mother tongue while Astarion gets a way to connect with his past life.

26. How important is the romance in your OC’s overall story?

Well, her life’s trajectory completely changed because of him so I would say it’s the most important thing. He’s her muse. She’d rather stay in a toxic relationship (is she even aware of it?) with him than lose all her inspiration. (oof part 2)

31.Share anything you would like about the couple!

I have like 4 endings for them HAHAHAH but let me discuss my canon (tragic) ending for them:

In the end, while the way they view each other is unhealthy, they’re actually pretty happy. They both got what they initially wanted: Selene finally in the upper class circles while making music, and Astarion with immense power and control. They themselves could have been something more of course, but sadly they’re forever stuck dancing in a snow globe that they built for themselves. (Well, anything could happen when you have an eternity tho)

Radihollow is always fun!! I'm a sucker for enemies for lovers, they're both stupid bastards dynamics. I also ADORE "destined enemies" and "defying fate" kinda tropes, so honestly any iteration of this ship has me by the THROAT.

3D Classics: Twinbee (Nintendo 3DS) / Twinbee (NES)

Developed/Published by: Konami Released: 10/08/2011 (Nintendo 3DS), 7/1/1986 (Famicom) Completed: 05/04/2023 Completion: a rare 1 credit “clear” finishing the first loop with 950,800 on the 3D Classics version. Trophies / Achievements: n/a

Well it’s all surprises here, because I had tremendous fun playing through this after considering the original arcade release somewhat miserable to play through due to it’s relentless brutality. With the Nintendo 3DS taken out back and beaten to death by Nintendo, I took the opportunity while the big N was distracted to lift all the 3D Classics from behind the bar and I wasn’t expecting to play this for particularly long considering that the release doesn’t let you savescum your way through it (you get a single quick save, and it’s deleted when you load it back up. Right now it’s holding at the start of the second loop, triumphantly.)

However, it’s got a lot going for it. NIntendo’s 3D Classics range are a truly odd bunch and it’s a bit of a tragedy that they gave up on the series so quickly, considering they’d hit their stride with upgrades to Kid Icarus and Kirby’s Adventure, but the writing was probably on the wall with their decision to make the flagship releases Excitebike and… Urban Champion? A game they haven’t even released on Switch Online, they’re so shamed? To be fair, they did put out Xevious, and (oddly) they even put it out as an Arcade port, not a port of the (excellent) NES version, but that’s a game with a tragic lack of cache outside of Japan. I suspect these sold so horribly poorly that there was just no money in it, and I wonder if it was a bit of unconscious self-sabotage from either Nintendo (not wanting to just shove up 3D Super Mario Bros or 3D Legend of Zelda) or Akira (wanting to do more interesting releases). I mean M2 still puts out versions of Sonic every time they get to do some Sega re-releases even if all they really want to do is put out Fantasy Zone again.

Anyway. As I was saying, 3D Classics: Twinbee has a lot going for it. First of all, the 3D is good. I kept it on the whole time and never found it painful. Secondly, it mildly (quite mildly) prettifies the original NES release with the backgrounds not looking as plain and there’s a cute “theatre curtain” framing. And finally, and most importantly, it’s got auto-fire (missing on the Switch Online version…) and overall is nowhere near as much of a ballache to play as the arcade original.

It’s just a lot more… balanced. More forgiving. I mean maybe I’ve gotten really good at shooters all of a sudden, but that’s not particularly likely. There are a manageable amount of enemies and bullets on screen until the gauntlet that is the mid-point of level 5, and the power-ups are huge bumps in power–the “shadow options” create a wall of bullets and the shield lasts for a pretty ridiculous amount of time. If you’re able to get the shield and the rare 3-way shot, you’re golden.

With everything a bit less busy on screen, you can actually manage to juggle bells successfully, and in my 1CC I died several times and was able to get powered back up fairly quickly and with only some panic (in level 5 I did go through a death-loop ending up with only a single life left, but just managed to get a shield in time.) I was obviously helped by auto-fire… but that was a staple of third-party controllers at the time. It’s not cheating… really…

If there is a problem it’s that if you lose your arms (which allow you to bomb enemies on the ground) you basically get one shot at recovering them and it seems like the ambulance never shows up again and so you’ll probably die, or have to die, as a result. Oh, and the bosses are a bit crap.

This is good though.

Will I ever play it again? Well, I’ve actually beat this twice now, first on Switch Online with some saves and then on the 3DS, so probably not? But I recommend it over the arcade original and I now look forward to the sequels.

Final Thought: While I’m positive about this, I would say in 1986 the original release isn’t that exciting considering Xevious came out over a year before (November 1984) and is still, honestly, better. And I guess if you were buying 3D Classics (which you weren’t, because no one was) you were much better off getting Xevious there too even if 1CCing this is extremely rewarding. But yeah, if it’s 1986? It certainly seems like you’re better off saving your Christmas money till April when Gradius finally hits the Famicom.
