It’s bearly been two days since Yuuna has been revealed and I’ve already seen fanart and fan animations of her. I’m half convinced someone’s gonna make a cosplay of her by tomorrow.

To be fair, Yuuna’s clothes don’t look super complicated or difficult to recreate. You could easily find lookalike items by shopping around or even digging around in your closet. The makeup and hair will probably going to take some effort though 🤔 and probably the phone case + strap if someone wanted to get it down to the details.

It’s been really fascinating seeing the outpouring of excitement for Yuuna. The Twst fandom is usually very fast when it comes to putting out fan works (it’s not unusual to start seeing fanart literally minutes after the monthly schedule drops), so that’s nothing new. What’s interesting to me is how Yuuna has been exalted in the English-speaking fandom. She’s enjoyed in the JP fandom too, sure—but EN seems to have taken quite the liking to her, and I wonder if that’s because EN fans have been wanting a “canonized” hyperfemme Yuu for a while.

There seems to be this trend of looking to official Twst materials to validate the existence of one’s own creations in the English-speaking space, and while I don’t agree with fans needing canon to affirm the art we create (we should be happy with our art regardless of what canon says), I can see why this would feed into the hype for Yuuna. She is a very femme-presenting Yuu, and many Yuusonas I’ve seen are similarly very femme. Yuuka may have been our first girl Yuu, but Yuuna is our first “girly girl” Yuu. If you’re not aware of it, some fans disparage the existence of female Yuus, claiming that an all-boys school like NRC would never allow a girl to study there. Honestly, I never quite understood that argument, especially since it’s clear Yuu enrolled under special circumstances and not by the usual method of enrollment. It feels kind of silly to impose arbitrary rules and who Yuu “can” and “can’t” be when the whole point of them is that they can be anyone, because Yuu is you, the player. Any race, any socioeconomic background, any age, any spiritual beliefs, any occupation, any orientation, any hobbies/interests/skills, and, yes, any gender.

Anyway, due to that whole debacle, many EN fans see Yuuka and now especially Yuuna as important symbols for validating the existence of femme Yuus, both tomboys and girly girls. I suspect that this plays a large part in why Yuuna’s been receiving so much fan content—and, if memory serves correctly, even more than Yuuka received. Yuuka mainly got excited screaming rather than fan works, but I’ve seen Yuuna getting fan art, edits, animations, and a whole lot more. There’s even more excitement for Yuuna because of how openly and unrelentingly girly she is—and how that indirectly represents and validates girly Yuusonas present in the fandom. (Oh, by the way!! Sorry if this is a silly question or has been already asked (I looked but didn't see it), but what might be the qualitative risk of health consequences associated with the ultramarine? If it's so new and has so few birds, I would think there hasn't been much chance for evidence of linked issues. Related tangent, but how do peafowl peeps balance interest in new color mutations with concern over watching for long-term health ?

So far, no birds have shown any health concerns in ultramarine! It appears to be some kind of axanthism (missing yellows), which is a pretty common mutation in captive animals, and generally harmless. I expect that there won't be any associated health issues- generally if you're going to see them, they're going to happen by the time the bird is hitting maturity (3-6). Peafowl don't tend to decline much with old age, they are more like cats in that respect. They may slow down a little, but they're generally hale and spry until they drop suddenly at the end. It's always possible something develops down the line, but given what we see in axanthism in other animals, it seems unlikely.

Most breeders don't have any kind of quality control in place to check for health problems. I'm not saying it never happens (R&R held onto Amethyst in secret for years now keeping an eye on it, the og UM breeder was holding onto them and only let them go because she was afraid of losing them entirely if something happened and they were only on one farm), but we still have cameo and charcoal because they were let go too soon and weren't watched for health problems. Progressive pied was released because people thought it was another leucistic gene (despite me telling them over and over and over at the time it was vitiligo and would likely present autoimmune issues later.... And then it did. But I was "new" (derisive) and so what did I possibly know (more than them apparently)!).

So the answer is: they're very bad at waiting! They're very bad at checking for health problems and then not reproducing them! Despite raising birds with 20+ year lifespans, they are not that great at planning for the future, and they've traditionally been TERRIBLE at working with other breeders. Typical health watch says you discover a new color, you produce some, you split the babies among 2-3 breeders to make sure no one farm loses the mutation entirely to disaster (illness, fire, storm, injury, predators etc) and you all breed maintenance for around 6 years to watch for issues (which is what Els was doing with them, except she was late with the spreading and nearly found out the hard way why you share ASAP with a couple trusted breeders who can babysit the mutation with you). If you don't see anything by 6 years, it's a pretty safe bet it's going to be fine.

So, in this particular instance, we have birds old ENOUGH that you could expect to have seen health problems if we were going to, and the particular kind of mutation itself is unlikely to be harmful. So at this point it would be a surprise to see anything bad happen with UM.

my job is not an arty job, but my manager is capitalising on the fact that i can draw, and i am an enjoyer of drawing-based work because it's not something i normally get paid for, so the task of "draw like 30 different animals for a card game" is a win win situation.

what i have learned, however, is that i cannot draw animals. they come out Bad. the proportions are off, they're stiff and weird, sometimes they don't even look like the right animal. drawing people? great sign me up! animals? apparently? no can do boss. i was sending over sketches and my manager was so greatly Not A Fan of my terrible animals that she very gently suggested just printing off some random pngs from canva. other coworkers were less gentle with my sweet delicate feelings.

however i have whatever the opposite of imposter syndrome is, and after a long and painful struggle discovered the secret hack to become instantly Pretty Decent at drawing animals. out of nowhere, i was able to produce many pictures of animals that ranged from Passable to Not Even That Bad, Actually. my confidence was unfaltering. but this hack comes with a cost.

i can only draw animals while listening to ABBA.

now i enjoy a bit of ABBA! but a man has limits. and that limit was crossed somewhere during the second full day of nonstop ABBA during which time i began to develop some form of swedish disco stockholm syndrome. two more days in and i was singing some real deep cuts, word for word. i tried other artists but none could evoke my latent animal drawing abilities like ABBA could, so i was trapped. i tried many times to break free of my disco placebo, but it was no use. i was trapped in a hell of my own hubristic making.

now i would share with you some of my improved animals, the good shit, the ones drawn using the performance enhancing drug that is ABBA's discography, but when someone inevitably reverse image searches one and finds out exactly where i work, i'll feel a bit silly, so you're going to have to trust me that they're worlds apart from..... these.

anyway, this post is actually a success story. after a number of days (i don't care to mention how many) and a slow descent into an ABBA-induced break with reality, i finished all the animals. every single one. i had done it. they were printed, and i was free. my manager was delighted. she said they looked great.

so great, in fact, that she wants me to make a second set. with different animals. so it is back to square one with my good friends and companions agnetha, björn, benny, and anni-frid.

This is the video! I saw it and was pretty interested. There are some things I just don’t agree with in the video, but the bit about concept-based vs gameplay-based games made me have my epiphany. I think the actual point comes from a take I massively disagree with, but yeah.

Massive Bleach spoilers ahead, but I haven’t been able to talk about this with anyone other than my friend because Bleach fans are boring asf people who don’t care about trauma and the effects of trauma and being killed like I do. Because I’m a Jason Todd fan. But I’m gonna go on a huge fucking ramble because… I need to talk about this and have someone listen to me.

I’m a huge mental health, trauma, and realistic trauma responses freak when it comes to characters. People acknowledging characters having PTSD makes me so happy, which is why I love the fandom around Jason so much. BECAUSE PEOPLE ACKNOWLEDGE HIS TRAUMA!!

One of my favourite characters in media is Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, and I have heard not a single person even whisper about the fact that he blatantly has PTSD, or should at least be heavily affected by the shit he went through. Yes, he’s an anime protagonist so he can’t really have it for story reasons, but… HE VERY CLEARLY DOES HAVE IT! AND HE VERY CLEARLY HAS SURVIVOR’S GUILT!! This is why I love Evangelion so much.

Ichigo’s ENTIRE motivation for becoming a Soul Reaper (I’m a dub watcher) and wanting to help people is because his mother was killed protecting him. One of the reasons season 1 of Bleach is my favourite animated arc is because of how much it actually delves into the fact that Ichigo was severely affected by his mother’s passing. His entire personality, his entire person, his entire motivations and desires were fundamentally changed because of that one event when he was 9. It’s talked about so much in season 1 and I LOVE IT!!! Obviously it’s redundant to constantly bring it up over the rest of the series, but I’m certain Ichigo and Bleach are why I’m such a freak over this stuff.

BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER!! Because in the final arc, he can’t get to his final level of power because the trauma of losing his mum IS STILL AFFECTING HIM! HE STILL HASN’T BEEN ABLE TO MOVE ON AND HEAL DESPITE EVERYTHING! Until his dad finally tells him what really happened, and it allows Ichigo to finally move on, heal, and accept that IT WASN’T HIS FAULT HIS MUM DIED!! AND THEN HE GETS HIS FINAL POWER UP!!!!! I love Ichigo so much, he’s an amazingly well-done and grounded protagonist.

It upsets me that people hate him as a protagonist, and say he’s unrelatable because he is extremely relatable (also I kin him a lot. I haven’t lost any parents per se, but I see myself in him). Those guys just want a loud, silly guy who isn’t scowling 24/7 and isn’t objectively the straight man the entire show. BUT THAT’S WHAT I LOVE. Like I’m sorry, we can’t have silly loud guys who are extremely goofy for all three of the Big 3, Goku will never be a Big 3 protagonist because he is the founding father of those three anime/manga.

Also Ichigo… in less than 12 hours, died TWICE in EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC WAYS to the SAME FUCKING GUY and then COMES BACK without ANY TIME TO MENTALLY PROCESS. I have been a Bleach and Ichigo fan for 13 years, and a Jason Todd fan for about 3 months. Jason didn’t need to teach me anything because I can use my own brain to realise that DYING IS TRAUMATIC. I need Ichigo with PTSD around dying. Please. For the love of god. He was 16. He acts and looks older than 16 so I think everyone forgets how young he actually fucking was, but he was killed twice at 16 within the span of 12 hours without any time to process because he had to continue fighting, and then go to the World of the Living to fight another even bigger threat; where he ends up watching his friends and comrades all get cut down and nearly killed, EVEN HIS OWN DAD AND MENTORS. And then he’s stuck fighting for 3 months to unlock a power that will LOSE HIM HIS POWERS THAT HE’S ONLY HAD FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS.

Jason Todd 🤝 Ichigo Kurosaki: dying as a teenager, and also fighting bad guys, and isn’t really able to properly get therapy about it because what? The fuck? Do you mean? You died and came back?????

Only four people knows he has died, only two people know he has died TWICE.

But to go onto that second death. Holy fucking shit.

I have not seen a single person talk about how much this affected Ichigo mentally. No one. Not a single person.

It’s extremely clear it affected Ichigo in-universe, because he can’t use his hollow mask correctly after it, and he’s very clearly shaken up by it when he sees it with his own two eyes. And yeah, you could argue “well if it’s focused on in the story then there’s no need to talk about it otherwise” I THINK BATMAN FANS WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU. Because that’s just something I really like with Batman as a whole, and Batman fans. In-universe, and in fandom, people talk about Bruce’s trauma, Dick’s trauma, Jason’s trauma. The entire reason Bruce is Batman and Dick became Robin is because of the trauma of losing their parents. In Batman & Robin: Year One, Bruce literally says “as a trauma survivor” like?? This stuff is talked about frequently, and acknowledged. And I never see the same thing with manga…

Anyway, Ichigo doesn’t get time to process this. Maybe he does in the 18 months where he’s not a Shinigami, but he doesn’t get time to process it before losing his powers. Yes, he’s fighting in a time warp thing for 3 months when it’s actually 1 or 2 hours irl in-universe, so maybe he gets time to think about it during that… but he’s more focused on learning the final Getsuga Tensho to take down the ultimate evil bastard of the series at the time.

I don’t get why some fans of Yugo get mad or annoyed at him for disliking his own Sans. He’s been dealing with nonstop fans for years who only focus on the memes surrounding Epic!Sans. Yugo has even expressed regret over making his Sans just a walking meme in the past, and of course, that would take a toll on his mental state and how he feels about the character. When people say he should stop talking about it, they don’t seem to understand that others constantly bring it up to him. It’s his character, and he has every right to vent about it however he wants.

You’re absolutely right, Epic is Yugo’s character, and he has every right to do as he pleases in how he uses said character and feels about it. I don’t condone harassment, and am firmly against attacking a creator simply because you passionately dislike or like a character of theirs.

One of my qualms with Yugo about Epic is how they blamed all of their mistakes and “cringe” of Epictale as a whole and projected it onto Epic and claimed the character’s death and celebration of his end meant that Yugo was absolved of any discomforting behaviors or jokes.

When he still continues to do so, even with characters from Epictale he likes.

Silly and goofy memes, might not be everyone’s preferred taste but there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Memes are supposed to be silly and fun.

But then Yugo having to be convinced by their fans not to do NSFW commissions involving minors?

No no sorry, that’s not fair. Of course anyone who is broke would be desperate, and they’re just fictional characters, right? Whats the harm? No way does fiction impact reality in anyway.

Doesn’t that reasoning sound familiar?

And anyway, Yugo rejected it in the end. Of course that should be ignored then and any criticism of it is unwarranted.

My mistake. It’s still not fair. At least with Epic dead and gone, Epictale is free from anymore cringe and problematic anime tropes!

Again, I don't mean this as an attack on you or Yugo. It's a criticism, and one where my overall point is that my biggest gripe with Yugo isn't that I love his character and he doesn't. It's that Yugo seemed to absolve himself of all his shortcomings by projecting them onto Epic and therefore is free from error or criticism now.

Disliking that Red/Lara and Mettaton are in love with Papyrus who is seventeen makes you a hater. SEVENTEEN. They are literally centuries of years old, even in the remake. I know in reality, the age of consent varies per state in the USA and especially varies depending on country, with minors able to be married in some with their parents or guardians' consent, but still. It's uncomfortable. It's unnecessary. Papyrus could be shipped with Lara and Mettaton as an adult, as he is in Undertale by the fandom and in other AUs. But now with the context that Lara and Mettaton knew Papyrus since he was a child, it's disconcerting to imagine romance with any of them. Look, it's understandable for a creator to feel a certain way about their work and how it's interpreted. Especially in what they choose to do with their creations, in revamping or remaking things, and how they feel about it and choose to get rid of some things entirely.

For the most part, I enjoy Epictale and have read his brief Neutral!Frisk storyline. Yugo is a talented artist, and I adore Epictale and the characters and the great potential they all have and what can be expanded on it.

The old Epictale bore the same errs as many AUs within the UTMV fandom in its early years. Fantastic AUs with amazing concepts often had something problematic about them and this was sadly normalized. From the past Cream comics portraying SA as romantic or silly, to PJ's Daycare and the like also joking about minors/adults, SA and r*pe, SH, etc. Or it could be problematic with Frans or Fontcest, either in canon within the AU or played around with as concept. Epictale wasn't worst of them, nor was it the outlier in one of its characters joking about or portraying these problematic things.

Here's a big one: Underlust. It's not a masterpiece, and like many AUs, has so much potential. Unfortunately, there's so much that detracted from it that a remake or dismissal of most of its canon is needed if you want to find any enjoyment from it at all.

Same thing with the past Cream comics. At that point, the blog itself caused too much for its creators and they deleted it and made it non-canon entirely. I don't know what happened to the UL creator, but I assume something similar happened.

Sorry, back to Lust. I was not active in the fandom in its early years, I only witnessed glimpses of it and when I wanted to get into something, like Cream, it upset me too much and I left the fandom. In particular with Underlust, it makes me so sad because I was introduced to him through fanon first, where someone had an SA experience and used Lust as an expression of what it was like to go through something like that in his line of work. And it felt cathartic. Comforting. A character who could understand how I felt, who was was unconventional in their self-expression and yet happy and at peace with who they are, would be able to heal and find happiness regardless of what happened to them. But then I found the parts of his canon with Fontcest. And it turned out Lust had nothing like his fanon and it hurt. I could no longer enjoy the AU and ignored it entirely from then on. But Lust, today, is still so dear to me because of what he could be.

Yugo wants to move on from the past and be a better person. I think that's a noble endeavor. Anyone can be a better person and change. That doesn't make it easy, and it certainly doesn't mean that everyone will try.

And for the most part, Yugo seemed to make progress. Epictale in and out of its comics doesn't make any more jokes about sexual harassment as far as I'm aware. There are no harmful slurs used in a joking manner. For the most part, it seems Yugo made good on their word and is trying to move on from his past mistakes. Many creators of UTMV's past seem to do something similar, and I wish them all peace and commend them for trying to move on and be better. However, when Yugo crucifies Epic as the source of all his problems, and uses him as the symbol for burying the past and amending his mistakes, only to then make similar ones (far less severe than the ones he used to do, admittedly, but still concerning nonetheless) instead of using Epic's potential to make him be as Epic as his namesake, it doesn't piss me off, at Yugo or his fans. Fans won't always focus on what a creator originally wanted them to focus on. That's simply the nature of fandom. And memes are one of the most popular enjoyments of fans and is the most unifying act among them. But there would also be fans who love things besides the memes, who will work to enjoy and create what they can gleam from canon and expand on it, in art or fiction, with other characters in the story. So long as fans don't attack the creator, harass them, insult or demand they do more with their preferred character(s), I don't see anything wrong with this. It sounds like a regular community to me. No. It just makes me sad. But as you pointed out, it's Yugo's character and his right to do as he pleases. So, respectfully, Yugo wishes to have nothing to do with Epic anymore; I am all too happy to love him along with the fandom. Because to truly move on from the past, you need to accept accountability. I know Epic used to have problematic characteristics, be it in the noncanon comics or art, but it was a part of his character. I acknowledge that. And I want to move on. Remove the parts of the past that are bad, and instead of ignoring it, use it as a reference of what not to do, as a reference to be better and do better. I want to build on his potential and love him. Because Epic makes me happy, and I know he makes others happy too. Why not heal and work together to create something everyone can enjoy?

I believe there is some sort of 'cycle' between Pure Vanilla Cookie, Shadow milk Cookie, and Candy Diver Cookie.

Now, why do I say this?

Ok, not just that, but it's a pretty good stepping stone actually.

So, how do we link these three characters?

First, lets take a look at their eyes.

They ALL have heterochromia with a yellow right eye and blue left eye. Now that's not too bad, right? I mean how common is heterochromia within the cookie run series?

NOT.

Within crk Red Velvet Cookie is the closest one that could be argued to have heterochromia, and outside of it Ice Juggler Cookie was the only one I found who could technically have heterochromia, but I'm not 100% sure. All other cookies have some sort of shape or symbol within their eyes of a different shade, but true heterochromia is exceedingly rare.

So clearly this is a significant connection between the them yes? Pure Vanilla Cookie and Shadow Milk Cookie are obviously parallels, but how does Candy Diver Cookie fit in?

To help that let's look at their stories, their lore, who they are, were, and will be.

Pure Vanilla Cookie, the ruler of the Vanilla Kingdom, is a healer, someone who cares for all, and the holder of the Light of Truth, a macguffin item that makes him somewhat immortal and super powerful.

Shadow Milk Cookie

Shadow Milk Cookie, proprietor of the formed spire of all-knowledge, is a trickster and mischievous individual who does most things in his own interests, and the holder of the Light of Deceit, another macguffin item derived from the Light of Truth which he formerly held which, similar to the Truth, makes him somewhat immortal and super powerful.

Now, to clarify for the above mentions of somewhat immortal, we do not currently know the full extent of their capabilities. We know they do not age similarly to the other cookies, and Pure Vanilla Cookie even comes back from being what many cookies thought was dead as Healer Cookie. But we do not know if they can truly die, with none of them having been tested in a way that has bested them once and for all.

Candy Diver Cookie

A diver at the bottom of the sea, eventually picked up by Captain Caviar Cookie, a silly goofy little guy, physically cannot speak and only does so in symbols that the prior mentioned Captain can understand, yet completely immortal. Additionally, cannot do any damage.

So, once again how does Candy Diver Cookie fit into this trio?

Well, according to Candy Diver Cookie's loading screen;

"The knowledge found in the depths may be only a fraction of the truth."

And who do we know that their character(s) heavily revolve around the Truth? That's right, Pure Vanilla Cookie and Shadow Milk Cookie.

Additionally, all three are immortal in some way, shape, or form, with Candy Diver Cookie having the most advanced immortality, as they have obviously died and possessed or otherwise physically become the diving suit they inhabit, and can even take off their head (similar to Shadow Milk Cookie in one of his animations).

Furthermore, Candy Diver Cookie cannot do any damage, similarly to the (unawakened) Pure Vanilla Cookie, and if we had the Sage of Truth Shadow Milk Cookie, I'm sure he would not do damage either, being an incredible similarity to Pure Vanilla Cookie, just if he was more studious and much less hopelessly addicted to a flower.

So there is, in my eyes, very good evidence that suggests that the three of them potentially may be the very same cookie. What Shadow Milk said (quoted at the start of this post) may not have been a lie nor dramatics at all, as with his trickster nature he very well could be telling the Truth.

So how they may be the same person, but how does this make them a cycle between one another?

Well, as we saw with the Truthless Recluse; Pure Vanilla Cookie can completely fall into the Deceit that Shadow Milk Cookie had. Sure there was a lot of forced dives into it and tons of underhanded coercion, but it is entirely possible for Pure Vanilla Cookie to be not as pure as his namesake. So this establishes a plausible connection for Pure Vanilla Cookie to genuinely become Shadow Milk Cookie, or a very similar cookie to, if he experiences mass strain to his mental stability (he's already gone through one war, just take Gingerbrave out of the equation [which eventually must happen, as he is not ageless] and his mentality goes flopside.)

Then, Pure Vanilla Cookie, in the midst of becoming Shadow Milk Cookie, assumedly before the Sage of Truth stage of the cycle, must go under water in order to learn everything about the sea, to know the Truth of it. Pure Vanilla cookie may spend who knows how long down there, and may eventually die in some way within the suit, performing the same act that ended up with Healer Cookie and becoming a new identity; Candy Diver Cookie. This may explain why Candy Diver Cookie's skill does absolutely no damage and only provides buff towards the team. But what about Candy Diver Cookie's basic attack, which inflicts a debuff to the enemies? Well that may be due to Pure Vanilla Cookie's encounter with Shadow Milk Cookie in beast yeast, in which he accepts that there are lies within Truth and becomes... more compassionate..(?) don't understand why his title is compassionate, especially compared to the other two awakened ancient's titles, but that's beside the point. Pure Vanilla Cookie knows he must do harm to see the Truth and be a better healer, not all lies are laced with venom after all, and as such this may translate to the locked away powers of Candy Diver Cookie, who knows many Truths but cannot share, and hence knows that they must do some form of disruption to aid their allies.

Then, from Candy Diver Cookie we end up with another Pure Vanilla Cookie. But how does that work? Well, Healer cookie remembered who he was and became Pure Vanilla Cookie once more, so it may be reasonable to assume the same may happen to Candy Diver Cookie. So Pure Vanilla Comes back, and in this stage he becomes the Sage of Truth, having gathered all knowledge from everywhere. Simple as that.

Afterwards, the Sage of Truth becomes Shadow Milk Cookie. The reasons are exactly the same as how Shadow Milk Cookie became, well, himself. Cookies were Cookies and never-endingly pestered the poor cookie for his knowledge, leading him to embrace Deceit and take out the incessant cookies.

From there, we get a similar situation. Due to the embrace of the Light of Deceit, the Light of Truth will presumably go to fond a new host which will eventually find Shadow Milk Cookie and, as the Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie did, offer a way to reform. Now, Shadow Milk Cookie fled and did not accept the offer, but that thought may linger. He may look more into embracing the Truth, as Pure Vanilla Cookie had seen into him, and as such Shadow Milk Cookie had seen back. They became one, and neither one left the same cookie they had entered as. And after time, Shadow Milk Cookie may become a Pure Vanilla Cookie esc character again, perhaps the jester becomes a childlike personality.

That's right I'm implying rebirth. The cycle perpetuates. Shadow Milk Cookie and Pure Vanilla Cookie are, and always will be, the same cookie, and Candy Diver Cookie is just a mere step within the process of the cycle. There is always two cookies on the opposite side of the cycle from one another, both of which will always eventually become Shadow Milk Cookie and Pure Vanilla Cookie and further perpetuate the cycle when they inevitably face off and become one.

And I guess, by proxy, I'm insinuating that the cookie run kingdom timeline is a circle for assuming the same events will always happen. Oh well, I'm a Doctor Who fan too, I've seen worse timeline shenanigans happen within an hour.

When one is learning as a child, the other is learning of the world beyond.

When one is searching for the Truth, the other found it long ago.

When one actualizes the Truth, the other is actualizing Deceit.

Additionally, child, Pure Vanilla Cookie, and Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie are all studious while Candy Diver Cookie, Sage of Truth, and Shadow Milk Cookie are all silly goofy.

Drop the mecha lore pls

Okay, sure.

Some time ago on the planet happened that can be only described as a world-wide cataclysm. All around the world started appearing herds of monsters, some of them resembled humanoids, others looked more like distorted animals, some were shaped like objects. They seem to be born overnight and started attacking people and cities instantly. Moreover, they seem to posses some special magical powers to them in addition to their monstrous appearance. Which of course caused a massive chaos all around the world. Didn't help the fact that most of them seemed massively unimpressed with bullets and bombs, chemical and bio weapons. There was always an option to nuke them, but you would be nuking millions of people with the monsters and there was no guarantee it would work in the first place. Fortunately whatever caused the arrival of the monsters also changed something about some people. A small percentage of population had received a mark somewhere on their bodies that gave them similar abilities to those of monsters.

Fast forward to much later in the world's timeline and there aren't many of human settlements left, they still exist as huge interconnected infrastructures that are few and far apart. Everyone is just trying to live as happy life as they can. Research connected both monsters and special marks to strange structure of the fabric of the world that turned out similar to music. The monsters were results in it's distortion and foul sound, so they started to call them Discords. And people who received a mark could resonate with the sound of the universe and channel it's special properties, so they were called Resonators respectfully. Resonators are pretty much the only people who can make a valiant effort at stopping and destroying discords. And they do, they maximize their output with a specially designed mechanical individual robots, that channel their own energy and frequency. It allows for less people to cover a lot of ground. Of course it's incredibly tasking on the person and absolutely doesn't help that discords never leave for long. So basically each megalopolis structure has an elite teams that fight off large quantities of enemies coming around almost on daily basis.

The Discords seem to be attracted to negative emotions generated by people: their fears, their sadness and anger, their despair. So they always try to reach them and devour everything. But it also seems that the people that were killed by discords become discords, their bodies dissipating into the sound waves and transforming. However resonators if killed have a slightly different things happen to them. It's like they become possessed, unable to think for themselves and their appearance slightly changing, but not drastically. Many believe that unlike normal people, if retrieved, they could be brought back to normal. Also yeah, death isn't really permanent as long as you have a body you can connect with a right frequency, very useful, knowing that not many people are resonators and not so easily replaced.

Anyway yeah that's the lore. If it's too similar to something else you might know, don't care, it's a silly au.

keeho loves the type of dates where the main focus is on the two of you, and the activity itself is only a nice addition. i'm talking going to a restaurant, a walk, ice skating, anywhere he can keep looking at and talking to you. if the place is nice enough to take cute photos as well, it's basically a perfect date - hence he always dresses up (totally not to impress you) and coaxes you to do the same, maybe even doing couple outfits if he's feeling cheesy enough.

as much as theo likes taking you out, his absolute favorite moments are the ones where you stay in, doing nothing at all and just being in each other's presence. laying down, his face nuzzled into your chest while you thread your fingers through his hair, the soft tunes of his playlist (made specifically for this occasion) playing in the background, and he has to physically hold himself back from falling asleep because he doesn't want this moment to end. alternatively, you could be splayed on the couch, the movie you spent way too much time choosing serving you as background noise as you get lost in the taste of each other's lips, the kiss unhurried and full of adoration.

jiung's a sucker for the cutest, pinterest worthy dates - pottery painting, animal cafes, museums, exhibitions, you name it. he plans everything beginning to end, wanting everything to be just perfect, and will not give you enough time to even take your wallet out before he's already paid. the first time a date he planned went wrong because the place closed early, he was so upset and kept apologising to you, and you had to convince him to just go to your place and order take out to stop him from sulking (to mixed results).

intak's favorite dates are the spontaneous, fun ones, where you just kind of do whatever feels right at the moment. he'll call you to ask to take you out while already standing at your porch, dressed in whatever he was wearing before going out (more often than not, sweatpants), and literally drag you out of your place. he loves going to the arcade (he'll both let you win purposefully and sulk after losing), the cinema, or the small restaurant run by an older lady that always gives him free side dishes because oh my, he's such a handsome young man.

boba dates!! i don't know what it is, but something about soul just screams boba date to me and i'm planning to die on this hill. you two are connoisseurs at this point, visiting every boba place in town and rating them imaginary points for taste, service, and vibe. it's always either of you that pays for both drinks, and you play silly games on your way to the store to determine who it will be. he'll always remember which one is currently your favorite and will get an order from there when you're feeling down (i'm crying).

seobie prefers to stay in as well, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like to have fun. he'll arrange game tournaments where the loser has to pay for take out - full of yelling, laughing, and, well... methods of distraction. rap battles (doesn't matter if you're actually good or not, he'll look at you with literal hearts in his eyes), blind karaoke, and tiktok challenges are some of his favorites too. after all that, it's not unusual for him to suddenly get the urge to go out in the middle of the night, taking a quiet stroll with you through the neighbourhood, each of you taking one of his earbuds and taking turns adding songs to the queue.

I am so sorry you’re having a rough time, dude. It is small, but may I offer you some random head cannons in these trying times?

- Jason looses his glasses all. The. Time. Half the time they’re just on his head and he forgot, but either way it gets to a point where his friends buy him the glasses with a chain AND SOMEHOW THEY GET LOST TOO

- Nobody can get Frank to turn into animals (unless necessary) EXCEPT Hazel. She just has to give him The Look™ and Boom! Panda.

- Annabeth and Percy have their intimidating stares down to a science. Leo and Jason fill the air with smoke and electricity when angry. Hazel and Frank have size advantages (Hazel being the type of short girl that can cut your kneecaps and Frank being physically intimidating despite his kind nature). Piper? Can randomly change her voice to sound like some Eldritch Demon Batman.

- Everyone takes Annabeth’s arachnophobia seriously. Nobody tells her it’s silly or childish.

- Leo and Annabeth bond over Lego building. They also visit each other periodically just to body double and get stuff done

- Piper helps Hazel acclimate to modern tech and such (they all do sometimes but Hazel begins to go instinctively to her bc Piper just has a way of explaining it all very well)

- Leo’s love language is gift giving. Specifically, he enjoys making cool gadgets with his loved ones in mind and giving those

- Piper likes saying people’s names a lot. Pretty much in every interaction with them, even if it’s not really needed to know who she’s talking about. She just likes it.

- One time Leo almost died cause he gave Hazel a card on grandparent’s day

- At some point, 6/7 of the Seven Prophecy kids have all shouted “LEOOOO” with the same tone as “CARLOS” from the magic school bus
