Do you have a favorite actor/member of The Outsiders Musical? Do you have a favorite artist/author on here that you want to show your support to? Are you just in the fandom but you wanna help bring some positivity to this fandom?Well I raise you, Project Stay Gold.

Project Stay Gold is an event in which people can create content for their favorite members of the musical, or a fandom member whose content you enjoy a lot, or just a way to spread a little positivity! There are many, many talented fans in this fandom, and there’s a lot of ways we can use those talents to help brings some positivity. There are two subsections to this: The Musical and the Fandom subsections.

The Musical subsection is set in order to take a moment to appreciate the people within this musical who have personally impacted you. Through art of their character or just by sharing a fanfiction of their characters, or with something as simple as a letter, this is a good opportunity to share your love with these actors and the other wonderful people who work on the musical. I’m aware of the growing negativity in the fandom and I really hope that this project will be able to spread some light in the fandom. You can create a gift or something meaningful for a cast member who you love or who has really stuck out to you! I’m hoping to get all gifts put into a google drive to post on Instagram (and if someone has a fan account and wants to do it on there DM me and you absolutely can! I don’t use Instagram much and I’d prefer not to tag them myself, so feel free to if you have a fan account on there!

The Fandom subsection is made in order to share a gift with one of your favorite fandom members! You can make as many of these as you want, and they can be whatever you want, art, writing, a playlist…but this is meant to be a surprise! You will have the opportunity to share a gift with your favorite mutuals, or just someone you really look up to! It’s sorta like a gift giving thing, but you know who you’re giving it to right away :)

This fandom could use a little bit of kindness and I hope that this will be a good way to spread it! The event isn’t happening for a few more weeks, it’s set to start in may or so, so we can hopefully get some of these gifts out by the summer when more people are free!! I’m hoping to garner some attention now though! I hope you guys are interested, and I hope that this can go somewhere! I think May is a better time to do this because nofenpeoepl will be available, so for now, I’m going to advertise! If you guys have any suggestions that will help this run more smoothly, please tell me!!

i just feel like this needs to be said, especially since it lowkey annoys me every time that i see it being brought up, but i don’t think it’s the best idea to constantly be making posts or asking cast members if they’re extending their contracts. back when dear evan hansen and mean girls were on broadway and i was in the fandoms for those shows, people didn’t ask the cast members if they were staying with the show or not or making posts about like it was front page news. if people stayed, they stayed, and if people didn’t, they didn’t. i get that people have members of the cast that they really want to see, but i also think that they shouldn’t have to deal with people always asking them if they’re continuing or not because that’s their journey and they shouldn’t feel pressured to stay or not. not everyone is going to stay with this show for the next year and while it’s perfectly normal to feel kinda sad when people leave, i don’t think that there should be such a need to find out who’s leaving and who’s not. maybe i sound crazy, maybe i’ll take this down, but this is something that’s been getting on my nerves lately.
