On TV Tropes, a user called NobleWolf added entries to the YMMV page for the 2023 Barbie movie:

Another user called Bullman deleted those entries, claiming that the Barbies had learned their lesson, but NobleWolf added the entries back with this message:

While the Barbies treatment of the Kens is initially treated as wrong, at the end things are reverted back to how they were at the beginning of the film, and present as been "a good and happy ending", it also changes nothing about how the film treats Men in general throughout the film

The problem is that they didn't discuss this in the Designate Hero/Villain Cleanup thread. A mod called MacronNotes was PM'd, and instantly bounced NobleWolf. What's worse, this happened right after NobleWold was released from a previous ban, so they couldn't appeal.

Apparently, it didn't occur to the mods that NobleWolf might not have even known that there was a Designated Hero/Villain Cleanup Thread. Could you start an Ask the Tropers, invite all the mods (and Bullman), and point out to them that, instead of bouncing them, they should have just directed NobleWolf to the Designated Hero/Villain Cleanup Thread to plead their case if they thought that the Barbies qualified as Designated Heroes? Tell them that you're not trying to appeal a ban but simply pointing out a potential alternate solution that the mods could have tried.

For the record, no, I am not NobleWolf; I'm just pointing something out for them. NobleWolf didn't put me up to this, either; I'm doing all this on my own accord.

I'm still much too green on that site to get involved in its politics. I know it would be the right thing to do, but 1) I haven't seen the Barbie Movie (or Oppenheimer for that matter), and 2) there might be more going on here than either you or I am aware of and I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth, especially considering NobleWolf's prior ban. (Fun fact about myself: I can put my foot in my mouth, literally. I don't want to do it figuratively, though. I've had plenty of experience with the latter to know when not to intervene by now, even if it seems like the right thing to do. Not my circus, not my monkeys, and not my clowns, either.)

just read the new mutants issue where Charles chose to stay behind in space and my god the juxtaposition between Charles trusting Erik and Erik joining the hellfire club and wondering at his own trust worthiness. I wonder how much of Charles decision was him ultimately trying to avoid the fact that his first class had seemingly betrayed mutant kind and not be willing to face them and how much of it was Dani and Illyana's reaction to him having Karma mind control Illyana. the fact that Illyana was depending on him to ease her mind through limbo and in choosing to stay he forced karma to do it instead, probably fucking up their relationship in the process.

Hi! Yes, Edward IV did celebrate his daughter’s birth as though she was a male heir (“a prince”), iirc as per the Great Chronicle.

While we have no contemporary reports at the time of Elizabeth of York's birth, we know that Luchino Dallaghiexia reported that the birth of Edward and Elizabeth's third child, Cecily of York, "rejoiced the king and all the nobles exceedingly*, though they would have preferred a son'. Wanting a son (ie: an heir) was typical for their time period, likely enhanced by Edward and Elizabeth's unprecedentedly controversial marriage, her very unsuitable origins and his own status as a usurper. The fact that he was described as being "exceedingly" delighted at the birth of his third daughter in a row regardless does support the claim that he would have gone over-the-top to celebrate the birth of his first legitimate** child.

my notes:

my overall interpretation of this song is "I'm trying to break through the friend zone (friendship barrier) so that you like me instead of thinking of me as a friend", so any vagueness in translation went in that direction

The use of "lock horns" in the official translation snippet + the HAO motifs give me the mental image of like, a hand-to-hand kung fu battle, so I leaned towards that imagery whenever there was vagueness (as opposed to like, a military campaign, for example)

deco's official english translations tend to be very liberal, so i tried to keep my translation a little more literal

Out of universe Epic 100%! Given the popularity of Underverse and thus the characters that surrounded Cross I think it gave him more publicity. However, I do think a far smaller of the population have read the Epictale comics. Not that I'm judging, though; the comics, both new and old, are kinda longish. I mean, some people don't even know who Delta or Color are. If I had to guess why Delta has far more limited and Color ig?? Also has somewhat limited information.

Hm, if I had to guess in the universe? I feel the association of multiversal war criminals on Epic and Color's behalf may give a bad first impression. This is given the assumption people even KNOW about that though. Epic and Cross are not that lowkey about their friendship, though, I imagine, but that may be because that was before the war criminal arc (I think?). I wonder if Color's or Delta's way of doing things gets people more interested or turns them off to them? Don't people like vigilante justice?

One of the reason MCU Khonshu refuses to officially address 616 Marc or 616 Badr as "sons", is because by the Traditional Ennead law of his universe, he will have to pay what is essentially child support covering their entire lives, allowance, medical/hospital bills, living conditions and funeral.

He calls himself their boss, never father simply to avoid the taxes. Because even a god can't avoid taxes, the Egyptian pantheon is bureaucratic like that.

MCU Khonshu is also broke to the bone AND has a gambling addiction, as well as impulsive buying on food. He can barely pay to take care of himself, keeps getting gigs just to buy food and would occasionally eat from the dumpster. He can't afford to take care of 2 fully grown adults he ended up "inheriting" from his 616 counterparts.

MCU Khonshu also recognizes Steven and Jake as separate people and a package deal with Marc. So, for him, it would be 4 fully grown adults. 3 of which share a body. Steven and Jake have their own lives, so they are to be paid equally with Marc.

I did my research and in a general term, one kid will have to be paid 400 USD a month. So, with 4 "kids" that would be 1,600 USD a month. With interest due to how overdo it is, and the missing birthday gifts for all of them.
