Headcannons I may draw one day who knows but it’s mainly dumb things kids do
-Neil gets his dads attention by tugging on his shirt
-Spacekid has ate bubbles and tried to blow it with his mouth
- Neil will tell Spacekid to do stuff for him and not tell an adult, then tell them like 2 minutes later
-Spacekid and Neil are horrified of Thunderstorms cus they are sensitive to sound and will hide under their covers and cover their ears
- Neil when nervous will mumble all of his words and then not repeat it
- Spacekid tries to copy what other campers do since he can’t see social cues but they ALSO can’t tell social cues well so it’s just the blind leading the blind
-Neil has a favorite parent when he’s a kid and it’s his mom , but as he gets older he likes them both equally (Him and his dad are just Goofy and Max)
-Spacekid canonically can’t read so I assume his handwriting is just shit
-Neil will give up on a hobby if he instantly isn’t good at it (unless it’s to prove a point, then he’ll do whatever it takes to do it)
-Spacekid is scared of the easier bunny I just have a gut feeling about that
Okay some shippy stuff cus I don’t rlly care about cannon
- Neil and Spacekid like to talk about science ofc, but other things like comic books and other nerdy shit (pretty cannon)
-Neil is Nerdy and Spacekid Is Geeky
-Spacekid is a very touchy kid and will find a way to squirm his way next to Neil
- Neil does appreciate how Spacekid is the only kid that listens to him , he’s just too prideful to admit he likes it
-Spacekid can’t tell the difference between friendship and a crush so he fully assumes whatever he feels towards Neil is just really good friendship
-Neil had a melt down when someone suggested he might like Spacekid (he didn’t tell them it was him just vaguely told his feelings towards “someone he knew”) because he was scared if he did like he’d get severely bullied
-Spacekid is super independent, and Neil sure does notice when he ISN’T around. At first it’s nice for a break but later on Neil is very much impatiently waiting for him to come bother him again
-If asked Spacekid will say “Uhh yeah I think Neil’s cool :))” and that’s kinda it so it gives the impression he doesn’t like him like that. Hes just really stupid , and 10!
-Neil journals about his feelings and it’s incredibly embarrassing to do for him. He’s burying his face in his book and rubbing his face hard out of it being hard to think about
-They exclusively hang out at night , it’s less embarrassing for Neil and he can be more open and less stressed . Either in one of their tents , the docks, or general outside (away from everyone else )
- When there is quite moments at night they’ll hold hands for a little bit , and it’s nice
- Spacekid offers his cape as a blanket, and even though it’s gross to Neil he still uses it
-They both have no idea what any of this means and both are too scared to move forward in any way
Neil doesn’t want to accept he feels like this (biphobia), especially because it’s Spacekid . Spacekid would much rather keep the friendship then try to push for something more and loose it . And so a stale mate ensues (this is when they are older like middle school when they are more aware)

Why 'The Naked Time' says so much about Spock and Kirk's relationship
Okay y'all buckle up, because I'm 'bouta read too much into subtext and symbolism for my own good,,,
In saying that, I feel that this episode reveals so much about Spock and Kirk. It portrays their attitudes and feelings towards love, relationships, and... each other??!?!?!
Tumblr media
The premise of this episode is that there is a disease transmitted through touch. It leads the victims the descend into a form of 'madness'. The disease's manifestation is related to the individual's inner psyche; Spock himself says it forces 'hidden personality traits ... to the surface'. This happens to Sulu, who starts to yield a fencing sword towards other crewpeople on the ship. Given his love for fencing, and that he is 'at heart a swashbuckler', the illness has responded to this. This is foreshadowed by the word 'naked' in the title: to mean bare, undisguised, as you are.
Christine Chapel soon becomes ill with this disease. She confesses her love for Spock and reaches out to touch his hands. Spock flinches at first but does not choose to resist as she continues. Significantly, she says she is in love with 'the human Mister Spock, the Vulcan Mister Spock.' Chapel finishes with, 'I do love you just as you are.'
Summarily, Spock becomes incapacitated in two ways; by the physical touch of Chapel, he has the illness; but also by the denigration of logic and surfacing of repressed emotions. I mean, why does Spock hold on to Chapel's fervourous touch and apologises to her profusely, multifold? By what logic would permit this? Surely no logic that abides by the teachings of his Vulcan upbringing.
Spock is visibly overwhelmed by the confession. That, not only is he loved, he is loved as a Vulcan and as a human - a dual identity that Spock struggles to live with.
Importantly, for Spock this disease reveals the unresolved tensions of these identities and the vigorous dedication he has to silencing his human side with Vulcan logic. Spock stumbles out, tearful, and plaintively cries that he is in control of his emotions. He grasps a computer of all things, the zenith of binary choices and answers, of perhaps Vulcan logic. Then, he assures himself that he is a science officer - a professional observer - an identity which would somehow negate the feelings he is experiencing. But even scientists, humans, and Vulcans can experience emotions, and this fact, coupled with the encumberment of this disease, causes Spock to unravel.
The height of this episode, for me, is when Kirk finds him. Through glassy windows of tears, Spock looks to Kirk and laments that he can never tell his mother that he loves her (because he is Vulcan). He then looks to Kirk and says, 'when I feel friendship for you, I'm ashamed'. The emotion that Spock is battling is not grief, anger, sadness, but, let's face it, love.
When they start slapping each other, they actually... tightly hold hands. To me, they're ferociously making out, full pash sesh, heaving petting.
And where, earlier, in a similar embrace, Spock found himself restricted by Chapel, Spock holds on to Kirk's hand for dear life.
This next bit seems like it runs unparallel to Spirk as a ship, but let me explain why it doesn't. Kirk contracts the disease from Spock, and also battles with the impossibility of love as the Ship's Captain. This love is dedicated to his yeoman. Immediately, it seems as if Spock has ... recovered? He switches off, begins to take control of the situation and the impending doom that would occur if they don't get power for something something sciency words something to do with engines. When Spock seeks Kirk in this state, it's as if he has responded to Kirk's lack of affection. The illness appears to recede.
Where this comes full circle is with the writing on the wall (literally). Spock observes, 'Love Mankind' on the wall.
Tumblr media
This may relate to embracing his human side, and further his love for Kirk.
Kirk's writing on the wall? In the turbolift, upon finishing his comments about his love for his yeoman, is faced with:
Tumblr media
What must Kirk repent for as a sinner? Can I be bold and say this might be about lying as a sin, perhaps?
Tumblr media
Anyway. It is 1.30 am, I need to fight with the writers of this episode and I need to put my creative writing skills to use somewhere else, probably. I hope you enjoyed the mess that lives in my mind and my attempt to coherently collate what was a dozen voice messages sent to my best friends who are sleeping. I should probably sleep too...

in 'i saw the tv glow' when Maddy is trying to convince Owen that they are in the midnight realm and Owen lists off good (but vague) memories they have of their family and childhood to show that everything is As It Should Be and Fine but then Maddy says something to the effect of "those memories were planted to keep you trapped" 🧍‍♂️... when you're trying desperately to grasp at anything to show that you're happy, that you've lived a good suburban life, that the people who are supposed to watch over you have exelled in their duty to love and support you unconditionally when it couldn't be further from the truth... you want so badly to live up to their expectations and "follow the right path" but the road you're on only leads to a life of suffocation. But is that really a life at all?

Ok this has been bothering me all day. I saw a post talking about how Rauru and Sonia did more for Zelda than Rhoam did and… I’m once again going to defend Rhoam, cuz that’s a very unfair thing to say and a horrible comparison to make.
Rauru and Sonia helped Zelda with her time powers and learning about the secret stone. Rhoam didn’t help her with her sealing power. Why? Cuz he has no magic and he clearly wasn’t the one who had it. Her mother was the one who had the power and was the one to teach her. Rhoam had no idea what he was doing, he didn’t understand the magic, and he hoped that if she dedicated her life that it would awaken so that the calamity wouldn’t destroy their home.
Well he should’ve tried to help her anyways right? Well, yes it’s easy to say that, unfortunately Rhoam was put in a very bad position of being king with the looming threat of the APOCALYPSE!!!! I think it’s implied that Rhoam married into the family, since his wife had the sealing power from the blood of the goddess or whatever, and seeing how he’s Hylian, he wasn’t a prince from another kingdom since all other kingdoms in this world have small round ears. For all we know, he was a prince consort who was never raised to be king. We don’t know what he was doing before, but with his wife’s sudden death and the responsibility of protecting his kingdom, he didn’t make the right choices. Which isn’t an excuse, but in his position, it’s an explanation. Rauru and Sonia didn’t have an apocalypse threatening to happen, in fact, they were in an era of peace and the future seemed bright. Of course they had time to hang out with Zelda and have tea parties with her. They seemed to be relaxed and having fun, which makes sense seeing how there didn’t seem to be much of a threat to their kingdom, minus Ganondorf, but I don’t think either of them saw him as a huge threat, seeing how they were absolutely blindsided by him.
It’s implied in AOC that Rhoam shouldered all of the responsibilities of the kingdom, and it seemed that he was under a significant amount of pressure during the calamity. And I feel like he mostly did that so Zelda could focus on awakening her power. She didn’t seem to have many responsibilities as princess save for awakening her power and helping out the champions. She is barely 17 so it makes sense that she’s not ruling the kingdom, but I do feel like Rhoam did all that stuff so she could focus on the calamity itself. And I’m sure in his stress he grew frustrated whenever Zelda focused more on the machines than awakening her power. Which was not the right thing to do, but come ON the world is literally about to end and the ONLY piece of the puzzle they need is Zelda!!! Some people forget that she HAD to awaken her powers otherwise the world was going to be destroyed! And it almost was cuz they were awakened too late! They were in such an unfair situation! And it’s not fair to compare him to Rauru and Sonia who were not in the same situation he was in, who were lying around in the grass and drinking tea because the calamity wasn’t there.
Rhoam is such a well written character that acts the way you’d expect someone in his situation to act. And he has so much regret over some of the things he’s had to do to protect Hyrule. You can read it in his journal where he finally gives up and desires to act more like a father to Zelda, you can see it when he takes Terrako away from Zelda, and you can see it when he’s a ghost 100 years after everything is destroyed. He’s so guilty but he did what he thought was best so that Zelda could not have a throne to nothing, so that Hyrule will be safe. And there’s a lot of things he could’ve done better, but people don’t act rational under that much stress. Like come on, would you? Don’t lie you absolutely wouldn’t.
And this post isn’t meant to diss on Rauru and Sonia, I like them in their own ways. But it’s kinda dumb whenever people love complex characters and then turn around and hate on characters like Rhoam and make them completely one-dimensional when they’re not. Y’all are completely unfair to Rhoam.

havent been able to write for the past few days so heres a snippet for the james getting serenaded oneshot for @fuck-i-love-october
enjoy :)
James can feel his hands shake as he reaches forward to pick up the bouquet. He reads the note on it which causes him to want to jump off the roof because how else can he continue with his life with the amount of happiness and euphoria that's filling him.
The note just simply says,
“Mon amour, I’ll make it up to you, I promise. -your star”
Oh my, James wants to–
He wants to take Regulus in his arms and squeeze him until he combusts from the sheer pressure because James is sure that he is about to explode.
See, the thing is. The thing is, James has never gotten flowers before, not from any of his partners at the very least, or any thoughtful Valentine’s Day gifts or anything. It’s usually James going out of his way to do grand gestures, to knock on doors, to plan dates and gifts, to do it all.
And oh.
Oh, he’s so in love with the man in front of him because he’s given James so much love, love he didn’t know he could have.
James looks up and Regulus just smirks at him with soft eyes. He looks down at the bouquet, then at Regulus again, with every passing moment he can feel himself getting warmer and warmer so he decides to get up and out lest his blush threaten to actually show.
