I like the idea of Athena being gigantic even in her owl form because it would be obvious that she is not a regular owl, something divine. Definitely not of this world.(And I like the image of big owlthena on Odysseus's shoulder)

Anyway, imagine that Odysseus fell asleep one day, and Athena let him because it'd more efficient if he got proper rest.(No, she is not getting attached to this mortal, how dare you assume such a thing)

Cute and fluffy, right?

Now, imagine you're a servant in Ithacan palace, living your life, and oh, is that the prince? Maybe you should get him some blanket-

And there's a gigantic owl, clearly not from this realm, staring into your soul with glowing silver eyes, while the prince is sleeping peacefully beneath it.

Idk it's just really fun to imagine all the shanenigans that would've happened when Ody was younger :p

Ares: Why do that when I can just fight?

Athena: What if the book is about battles?

Ares:...yeah right. As if that would happen.

Athena: The last one I read had a fight sequence every few chapters. It was pleasantly gory.

Ares: You've got my attention.

Athena: And the protagonist had to become the strongest out of everyone.

Ares: Ooooh.

Athena: And there was a giant battle at the very end which will determined the fate of the world.

Ares: Well, what are we waiting for? We've got a book to read!

Ares (slides them away): How about sparring? That always makes you feel better.

Athena (sinks into pillow): Odysseus was good at sparring.

Ares (to himself): So help me, Odysseus, if my uncle doesn't kill you, I will.

Athena: Ares?

Ares: Yeah?

Athena: There IS something that might make me feel better.

Ares: What?

Athena (meekly): Well, I read that petting puppies can help.

Ares:...

Athena: It can lower stress and elevate mood.

Ares:...

Athena (baby owl eyes)

Ares (sighing): (turns into a puppy)

Athena (smiling as she gets to pet the pup)
