going into the lab i work at which is the only public place i'm out in and having my mentor and everyone there call me by my preferred name and validating my gender is soooo !!!!!!!

the really beautiful landscape/skyscape animation in makoto shinkai's works tends to be the big thing i see focused on and that is understandable and deserved like the weather and lighting effects are unREAL but i do think we should also appreciate how absolute insane the plotlines of his original movies get. at least two movies with in universe catastrophes with major ecological implications. the guns and explosions. theres that one movie i havent seen yet with the guy who turns into a chair (?)

#naruto#naruto shippuden#uchiha itachi#i give itachi a lot of shit. which he very much deserves#but on the other hand.#idk itachi isn't a character i can really hate or stan i guess. i mostly just feel sorry for him#i feel sorry for a lot of the characters in that world really#here in this world we're all more or less on the same playing field#like there's ways to be privileged or disenfranchised sure but. no one can throw a meteor at your head for questioning the government#i feel like that's something that gets overlooked a lot in metas on why characters do things#like we can compare to ourselves all we want but we still live in a world where it's significantly more possible to speak out#and people STILL have a very hard time doing that#in the world of naruto.... you really can't#if your village is horrible too fucking bad none of the other villages care enough to do anything#if your village is awesome surprise no it isn't you've got awful shit going on and you just haven't noticed it yet#everybody seems to be running on ''well at least we're better than THOSE guys''#and the people who actually DO want to make things better simply. don't have the know-how to do it#bc all the people who could've come up with the ideas we have here have either been brainwashed killed or scared into silence#it's a lose-lose situation for literally everybody and they all keep perpetuating it bc nobody knows how to stop#you can save the world. you can save the world a hundred thousand times and it will NEVER matter. bc you still can't save the people#it's an eternal tragedy and i love it

#it is no surprise to me that the snyder cult is made up of a lot of right wing wannbe macho types who complain about things being too woke#who see no problem harassing anyone who doesn't share their narrowminded views#people who talk about how Watchmen and dark knight returns are the best dc comics but have probably only skimmed through them#not understanding them at all#just seeing batman beat up superman and going “cool”#which applies to zs himself too#he clearly missed the whole point of watchmen by trying to make them all look cool characters#and badass heroes when the whole point is they are not#he just saw a superhero story with sex and violence and though it was awesome#that is clearly what his idea of a mature work is#not something that is emotionally mature#no just all the r rated stuff kids aren't allowed to see#because anything kids can enjoy is lame#his movies are for adults#which are his own words#him and his fans really don't seem to like comics as they are#they only like the ones generally considered cool

i honestly wish i could make characters/adopts as like, a job. or a side hustle. theres nothing better than someone saying they like x y and z and then figuring out a way to get the best but still compatible characteristics and colors and. getting something awesome out of it
i dont like the whole culture around it though. in fact i hate most of it and the petty dramas or outright harassment some people have to endure.. i also dont like the idea of putting your heart into an adopt just for it to never get sold. plus it just so happens that, as with commissions, it turns out my lifetime goal of being a nobody on the internet doesnt exactly.. allow me to get clients at all lol. and i dont like all the marketing you have to do as well. but making characters is fun!! aoeuaeuaughh
i like the idea of design trades but i just never get attached to any oc that isnt my own and i feel bad bc i dont get the oc any use.. i personally feel pretty sad if that happens to my designs but it doesnt affect me so badly bc i dont check on ppl i made designs for X]

The warm and fuzzy feeling of entering any establishment that serves coffee and seeing minimum one table of old greek men at their coffee group
#go to a walmart mcdonalds at the right time of day and they'll be there too#just. old people having vast groups of friends#seeing other greek people#seeing them talk with their hands and hearing them speak a language i don't actually know and yet still understand#greek school failed me and i really want to try to learn greek again at some point#and yet it feels like home hearing people speak it#side note but i'll never forget going to greece with my pappou and seeing get to talk to all his relatives#and of course they're all speaking greek#and he thought i was miserable the whole trip since i don't know what people are saying#when in reality i'd never been happier. because he looked happy. and they all seemed happy to have him there#and i couldn't understand their words and yet i felt like i was part of it anyway#you could tell when there were jokes. you could tell when they were reminiscing. you could tell when something more serious was going on#i just. oough#anyway went to a really small eggsmart and it seemed to be run by these greek people#and you could tell the majority of customers were regulars. some greek some not#i know the awesome waitress was talking to her friend about when things were happening this coming week (cause i know the days of the week)#homely as hell
