I mean... yes Lycion seems to have some fondness for Mithrun, most of the canaries actually! I think Otta is the only one for their squad who seems indifferent (or even negative) about him, in the AB she's translated as calling him as slave-driver and for people who aren't native english speakers (like me) slave-driver is "a person who works others very hard"

For the others Fleki thinks hes funny, Pattadol respects him as a captain and Cithis respects him cause he resisted her mind control before and Lycion's opnion of him is "つよーい" which is like "he's soo strooong" (the dash makes the sound longer) which is pretty yaoi if you ask me

Going over the things you mentioned yes he compliments Mitrhun unprompted when they manage to find him even calls him handsome (男前)

And like you said he's overprotective of Mithrun when he thinks Kabru is being overfamiliar, this can be racism but from his track record I'd say he's being jealous, especially because his wording is "you're acting way too familiar with the captain there" "Don't pretend to understand him just because you spent a little bit of time together" sounds very jealous "you dont get him like I do"

It's different from when Pattadol, for example, was saying something similar to Cithis for being overly familiar with Mithrun

Might not be a crush but I think Lycion definitely has affection for Mithrun and is very yaoi about how he shows it, which matches his pretty boy trope.

Also fun fact but each guard is responsible for 2 prisoners and in Mithrun's squad Lycion and Fleki are under Pattadol while Cithis and Otta are under Mithrun

So maybe the fact Mithrun isn't responsible for them directly makes them like him more too? (Cause in comparison to Pattadol he's way more chill, but anyone is) and perhaps that's also why Otta is more annoyed at him since he's directly responsible for ordering her around lmao.

O Lazarus by Trinary: Starscream/Shockwave, Regeneration One continuity. i just absolutely love this fic, i think its so well written, and i adore regen1 shockscream. i think this fic really nails that awkward early dynamic between them, starscreams trauma, and shockwaves burgeoning emotions. i really like how viscerally you feel starscreams emotions in this one. if you havent read regen1 but want good shockscream, the fic provides context in the opening notes 👍

In a Different Light by jabberish: Jazz/Prowl, All TFS media. this ones fun and cute with just the slightest brush of angst, i love it. the whole premise is that theyre at a party, and jazz realizes that prowl has face blindness. they put their helms together to help prowl navigate the crowd. cute fun read, pre-relationship, could almost be considered a meet-cute were it not that they know each other already in this lol.

we will rest upon the ground by lunarblazes: Bumblebee & Elita One, TFOne. the two of them have a quiet conversation the night before everything goes to shit. contemplation about new bodies, getting to know each other, bee realizing that elita isnt as terrifying as he thinks and elita realizing that bee isnt as annoying as she thought. just a really great read, i love it and i love their friendship

Just For Tonight by Prowlsuniboob (orphan account sadly 😔): Fortress Maximus/Prowl, IDW1. i really like how well this one captures prowls character. oftentimes, ill see him kind of...woobified, i guess, in idw1 fics, probably because people are used to other continuities where hes nicer (or just want him to be nicer lol) but i really like how complex and messy he is in idw, i love how much he sucks lmao. i think this one strikes a great balance in how hes an asshole whos made a lot of terrible decisions but hes also so, so lonely. and fort max, whos been on the business end of prowls shit tier decisions firsthand, is like jesus christ. i hate it but i pity him now. prowl being drunk in this is the perfect way for him to be more unguarded.

Subharmonics (series) by neveralarch: Megatron & Starscream, Gen 1. this is The starscream dysphoria fic series, and i like megatrons dysphoria too! i also like the way that theyre experiencing two different types of dysphoria, and starscreams complicated feelings in the second one of the series. this is a rare one where they arent being as awful to each other as usual lol, i like to imagine this mostly takes place during a lull period in the war where they arent as turbulent and toxic. very very good

the war is over and we are beginning by lord_squiggletits: Megatron/Optimus Prime, IDW1. this one is part of a larger series of theirs, but i havent read it, i just love the megop angst and softness here. its not required to read the rest of the series, so thats why im recommending it by itself since thats what ive read lol. a very good look into how megatron feels that love has made him weak, while optimus doesnt feel the same.

Hazard Light by EatYourSparkOut: Brainstorm/Perceptor, IDW1. hanahaki au but like, robot hanahaki! extremely fun. ive always liked when people bend popular fanfic tropes to work with transformers instead of just throwing the trope on there, and i think this fic does that excellently. i also just love the way that they write perceptor, hes a character i didnt contemplate too much on until reading this fic and i was like man im missing out on this guy 🤔 i think this is a pretty popular simpatico fic so if u ship them youve probably already read it, but if you havent and youre in the mood for some light body horror, angst, cringy flirting, and perceptor being the most ridiculously avoidant mech known to man, please give it a read its great

A Slight Overreaction by Something_Wrong: Soundwave-centric, Gen1 & IDW1. i reread this one all the time. it is just so fucking funny for no reason, im obsessed with the way soundwave acts in this. like yeah of Course a dude so crazy about secret collecting and information acquiring would get so bent out of shape over something so simple. the author had really great comedic timing, its a great read if you want some silly soundwave that has you going 'ohhh buddy...please just take a nap 😂' by the end.

Helpless by platonicharmonics: Megatron/Optimus Prime (Megatronus/Orion Pax), TFP. in which before everything, orion pax meets the coolest bitch hes ever seen in his life at a gala, and that coolest bitch somehow also thinks that hes the coolest bitch. very sweet, excellent dialogue, and also autistic orion, which is one of my favorite hcs. its hard to find autistic prime without it feeling woobifying, but i think this one does an excellent job. if you feel like something romantic and charming with that hint of 'oh god they dont know the horrors on the horizon' feeling, check this out

THE starbee fic for me. seriously, i just adore how this one is written, starscream and bees dynamic is Peak here, and i love the balance between bees angsting over being a ghost and starscreams angsting over being. well. ig in his mind a sexual deviant lol. if the ageplay tag turns you off, its transformers ageplay, pretending to be newly built, not a child. ageplay is a personal squick of mine so id been tentative myself when i first read it, but if its also a squick for you, i dont think this one crosses the line enough for it to get to me lol. ugh god i just love this fic so much. also, its PLUG N PLAY!!! my favorite :D its also the one where i got the idea for the thigh ports!! i think its been in plenty of other fics, ive read it elsewhere since then, but this was the first i had seen it like that. top tier fic

Every Wise Man's Son Doth Know by zuzeca: Megatron/Optimus Prime, IDW1. another absolute top tier, constantly rereading this one. i love optimus being a freak and wanting megatrons hands back on his spark. and i love how megatron is written here hes so...megatron. augh. ugh. i dont really have much else to say other than read it, old man ptsd yaoi real.

stitches to show something's missing by Llwy: Tarn/Pharma, IDW1. this is the only fic so far thats inspired me to write a sequel, i just could NOT get it out of my mind. pharma takes things into his own hands to stop the djd, then he takes things a step further, then too far. i really loved how this fic makes you think about the ethics of it all, and wonder at what point did it stop being about saving lives and start being about lording power over tarn for pharma. and tarn...TARN...i wish i could write another sequel or SOMETHING i want more in this series i really care about their tarn. i think hes written in a very fascinating way here, though if youre looking for canon-typical tarn, this isnt it.

Fragments by Graveyard: Brainstorm/Perceptor, IDW1. rated m for the body horror more than anything sexual, since its sparkplay. brainstorm makes a terrible mistake and nearly dies, perceptor saves his stupid ass, and brainstorm has a nearly-died epiphany. despite the grave circumstances its also a very funny fic lol just by virtue of the characters being who they are (its very in-character, which i love). and, ofc, i loooove body horror i love it so much, this one isnt too much body horror if it makes you squeamish but he does start to melt a little lol. enjoy!

Something, Anything by absolute_minimum: Prowl/Fortress Maximus, IDW1. prowl is lonely (what else is new) and wants fort max to beat the shit out of him. but also he wants him to fuck him. they both just want to feel something, but after an incident, max wants them to feel something Good. i really like this one, once again i think this is one that captures shit tier asshole prowl very well while still making him a sympathetic character, just as the comics do. and fort max is also so good in this, how angry he is versus how he will Not compromise his principles, and when theyre softer its just. urreghhgh i want a part two. actually i also wish Just For Tonight had a sequel too...i think. i want more fortprowl lmao

Ghost in the Machine by EatYourSparkOut: Bumblebee/Starscream, IDW1. bumblebee accidentally possesses starscream and they jack off. its a fun time. i really like the descriptions of fear and violation in this, how visceral starscreams reaction is but also how earnest bumblebee is like 'i Did Not mean to do that oh my god'. starbee my beloved you can pack so many issues in you

Tarnished Silver by spockandawe: Sunstreaker/Mirage, IDW1. do you know HOW hard it is to find good idw sunstreaker angst??? ITS HARD. it is so fucking hard. premise is that sunstreaker and mirage used to have their bdsm sessions before. well. the Everything happened, and theyre having their first one again after everythings changed. this one really nails the angst factor, i love that the whole time youre reading, you can feel the loss of things that used to be pleasurable to him before he went through everything that he did, and his guilt is just ridiculously palpable. mirage in this is great too, i like how, just like sunstreaker, there are moments where you really dont know what hes thinking, so when he reassures sunstreaker you as the reader feel it too. very good i love this one so much

Stress Test by 0 (only_elsewhere): Starscream/Bumblebee, TFRiD. i didnt think i would like starbee in RiD, nor did i think id like anything with heats, but i really like this fic!! its another one where they robotify a common trope (this one being heats) to make it work for transformers, and i just love how in-character both bumblebee and starscream are. bumblebee especially is really standout in this, hes just that perfect blend of cocky and sharp both in tongue and mind, while still being young and trying to hide the fact that hes not sure what the hell hes doing. stupid kidnapping, fuck or die, and the most horrible feeling for bumblebee of 'oh GOD no. do i LIKE him now???'. very fun read

What You Can Have by DesdemonaKaylose: Rung/Swerve, IDW1. id never seen this pairing before this! really interesting premise, rung is tired of nobody remembering him and never being noticed, and his only coping mechanism that works is basically letting anyone and everyone fuck him (but nobody remembers it anyways 😭). problem tho! swerve remembers seeing him get fucked, and cant get it out of his head. theres a specific line in this that i think about all the time, i reread it so much just to feel that gut punch again of That Line auuugh so good. please check out if you want to feel things about a ship you probably never considered

Idea: Monster Falls but evil (by which I mean the nature of the curse, not the characters) (longpost)

So I was looking at Monster Falls stuff and thinking, "Hey, these characters keep ending up being cool." Like, it's not as if Dipper would be especially happy to be half deer but a cervitaur is cool, aligns with who Dipper wants to be well enough, and he totally gets abilities he likes out of the deal. Mabel's usually happy to be a mermaid or a unicorn and again, it fits. And no hate. I like Monster Falls because it's fun like that.

But what if instead of fitting the character, it fit their insecurities, traumas, etc., in the worst possible way?

It starts at Dreamscaperers. Gideon is trying to summon Bill, but there's been some sort of edit war in Journal 2 on the incantation (Ford trying to cross it out and Bill putting it back in) that makes it very hard to read. As a result, Gideon says the wrong incantation and, instead of summoning Bill, turns everybody inside the weirdness barrier into monsters. He himself ends up becoming a siren, and nearly chokes to death-- he is extremely lucky that Soos is there and not willing to let a child die on his watch even if that child is a total creep, although he hates that Soos did the rescue and not Mabel (Mabel was honestly debating if she should leave Gideon there, since he tried to kill her brother once and she's fairly certain Gideon would do it again if he had the chance). You would think that being a siren would be fun for Gideon, but it turns out he actually HATES singing and acting. It started as something his dad forced him to do because his dad couldn't cut it as a singer, then became a means of manipulating people post-amulet. He doesn't like being confined to Gravity Falls Lake because it limits how much control he can exert over people, and he hates how meaningless it is when humans agree to things now because he has no way of knowing if they truly want to or not. Forcing compliance from people who don't want to do things seems like something that should annoy Gideon, but it's actually the only part of ordering people around that he enjoys and now he's lost it. His abilities don't work on monsters, and everybody blames him for the monster transformations, so they want nothing to do with him either.

Dipper winds up becoming a tooth fairy. This kid, who struggles so much with his masculinity and not being taken seriously because of his youth, has to learn to live as a sparkly (I'm thinking he literally emits glitter instead of sweat) eater of bones. He's initially really tiny too and has to get a blast from the size-changing gem to get to the size he's used to. Even so, he's never going to grow facial or more chest hair. He has to subsist on bones-- while he can get by on animal bones, he needs to get the trace-mineral-plot-stuff that's only in human bones every now and then. He's in zombie country, not a murderer/butcher, and the teeth need to be in decently good shape to be nutritious enough for him, so that pretty much leaves children's lost teeth as his best bet for food. While he can eat non-bones, he doesn't get any nutrition from them and it's sort of like a lactose intolerance where if he overdoes it he's in for a very bad time in the bathroom. He isn't compelled to leave money or trinkets behind-- it's more of a bribe for kids not to call the cops on him, since he kind of breaks and enters to get those teeth ("Hi, may I feed upon your child's discarded tooth?" isn't exactly something you ask people and get a yes often for, even in monster town). Also, Dipper can't hide being a fairy because his toes are gone. Fairy legs and feet are vestigial. He has to fly to get around with his sparkly pink wings that feel like getting kissed by a butterfly when they hit people. Upside: he gets magic access! Downside: Whenever he uses it his Big Dipper birthmark glows and he sparkles more intensely!

And Mabel, who values her cuteness so much and loves bringing smiles to people's faces, ends up being a gorgon-- the last thing anybody wants to be face-to-face with. She looks a lot like what Bill made her look like in Dreamscaperers when he took her cuteness, but with more grayish skin and rubber boas (the snake species is native to Oregon. Rubber boas are friendly, peaceful noodles but they are dirt-colored and most enjoy chilling in dark places away from non-boas) instead of hair. She has a mental link with the boas and can use them like short-range grappling hooks, but they get extremely stressed out when she hasn't got a hoodie or something like it that they can hide in, and that makes her stressed out. Also rubber boas hibernate, so that makes her extremely tired for a good chunk of the year, and she has to accommodate their dietary needs too as they rely on her for food (Fun fact: Mabel juice is very bad for rubber boas). She has to wear very dark sunglasses to protect other people-- only humans are turned to stone when they look her in the eye (and it is possible to reverse, but a really big PITA), but monsters feel a very sharp and sudden bolt of cold that briefly stuns them (it often scares fellow monsters away). Mabel struggles because she's, like, not a superficial person at all! That's something she really values. But at the same time she hates her gray-green skin and having these weird poop noodles for hair that give her the Torments when she drinks Mabel juice or uncovers her head too much. And people outside of her family who aren't Grenda or Candy (both would most enjoy being monsters, and so of course were out of town when all this stuff went down) definitely treat her differently now that she's not as conventionally adorable as she used to be. It's hurtful.

Stanley, who has always struggled with feeling like a shittier clone of his brother and who is determined to stay out of everybody's business, ends up as the Reflexorcist. The Reflexorcist was a monster introduced in the Book of Bill. It is confined to the mirror realm (good luck getting that portal running now, Stan! Actually, he winds up asking Soos to do it in a moment of desperation. It does delay things by a lot so Ford is able to slay Bill before it's activated.) and compulsively lists off everybody's insecurities when they see themselves in the mirror. I do think it would be interesting to expand the Reflexorcist's powers so it also reads intrusive and embarrassing thoughts as opposed to just talking about your appearance. Stan does not want to hear and definitely does not want to blurt out to Dipper what Dipper thinks about Wendy, his puberty voice, and his lack of chest hair when he brushes his teeth. Stan has to fight every instinct in his body not to do that, but it's a lot easier to resist the urge when it's somebody who has accepted their insecurities and embarrassments. Meaning that Stan feels pressured to get involved and help people, even though he'd truly rather not know and projects an image of not caring about other people at all.

Soos, who is so good hearted and kind to everybody but clumsy to a fault, ends up becoming a demon. If he's not careful, he can induce nightmares in people and monsters, and his powers relate to lowering people and monsters' inhibitions so they're more willing to commit his assigned sin. Fortunately his sin is gluttony, so nothing violent, but unfortunately gluttony is very ill-defined and can include acts of greed like hoarding money-- and he can't share his snacks, as any food he comes into contact with or helps prepare is automatically tainted with sin and will not satiate people or monsters. It makes life hard at the Mystery Shack because his sin-fluence tempts customers to steal, and the only thief allowed in the shack is Stan. He's sort of structured his identity around being Stan's son-ployee, so not being able to work at the Mystery Shack really, really hurts him and he has to find meaning outside of that. It also sucks because Stan (being stuck in the mirror realm) is one of the few folks who can actually interact with him without getting influenced by sin. Plus it's hard for him to help people when his sin-fluence makes them more inclined to be uncooperative and ungrateful. Poor guy is constantly hungry too-- it's not like he's starving or anything, but he never feels quite full and it sucks. At least he doesn't put on weight as a demon, but he doesn't lose weight either.

Wendy, who was so embarrassed by being freakishly tall as a kid and comes from a family of lumberjacks, ends up becoming the same species as Steve. For the sake of the story we'll call him a wood giant. The wood giant is a huge creature that latches its soul onto gigantic trees and more recently machines to give itself the ability to interact with the physical world. It is a solitary thing that generally hides out from lumberjacks, since lumberjacks cutting down their trees hurts them. Unsurprisingly, being a giant makes it very hard for her to interact with her friends, and she hates how she is constantly conspicuous. If she's feeling anxious, she can't exactly play it off like it's nothing because people will see her shaking. Pacifica, who is haunted by the sins of her family that she is conditioned to participate in and values her beauty and public relations so much, ends up being a krasue. A krasue is a spirit in Southeastern Asian folklore who looks normal during the day but by night detaches the rest of her body from her head, neck, heart, stomach, and intestines and floats around looking for rotten and disgusting things to eat (Lucky for Pacifica but damning for the American food system, ultra-processed food counts as trash so she can live off that-- although she's very ashamed of it). They are largely harmless, but basically nobody likes them because they get bile and slime all over the place, and they are particularly attracted to placentas and clothes. In Thai myths, they are women who lived sinful, fraudulent lives and thus were cursed. Sometimes the spirit and the woman are one and the same, sometimes the spirit and woman are separate but the woman can't survive after being cut off from the spirit, whereas the spirit will just find a new host if cut off from the woman-- I am thinking this might be interesting to toy with as a metaphor for social status and the upper class. She finds it and things her family has done for it grotesque, yet she can't live without it and she knows she'll just be replaced if she leaves. She's been pretending to be a superficial, snobby aristocrat just like her mom and dad for so long that it became part of her true self. Her mom and dad are not doing much better here-- Priscilla has become a Killbilly and Preston has become a werewolf. Her mom's personality and interests are largely intact, but now it causes her severe pain to wear shoes, jewelry, or uncomfortable clothing, she has claws instead of nails, and she is more comfortable communicating in hambone code and "banjo songs" (like whale songs, but for Killbillies) than English. However, Preston rejects her for being a filthy hillbilly and files for divorce immediately. He on the other hand is in deep denial that he has become anything at all. It's not clear if he blacks out in wolf form because of something the form does or because he thinks he is about to black out and that makes it real. He refuses to see the significance in the additional hair he has been growing even during the day and does everything he can to hide it. Although his wolf form looks fearsome, his behavior is more in line with a really intelligent, rowdy dog. While he will put his dirty paws on the couch, shred pillows, counter surf, and hunt deer, he is actually a lot easier and more fun to be around as a wolf than as a human. If he wasn't in denial of being a werewolf, he'd be utterly furious and baffled about people preferring his wolf form.

Old Man McGucket, who worked so hard to forget his traumas, ends up being a shapeshifter. His true form is now the same as the Shifty who traumatized him so long ago, and he doesn't have a good grip on his powers thanks to his scrambled mind so he regularly transforms into whatever comes to mind without realizing or even thinking about it. He is in for a lot of sleepless nights, and so are the people neighboring the Gravity Falls city dump. He does get a better handle on things after confronting his past and the Society of the Blind Eye, at least, but it's still incredibly tough for him to resemble the thing that hurt him so much so long ago and remembering the past has its own toll.

I like the idea of a twist where the Valentinos actually weren't changed at all. Greg was the product of Victor's experimentation with the bodies at his funeral home to produce the perfect son-- basically Frankenstein's monster if Frankenstein actually loved him. Janice is a lich puppetting another deceased woman's body, and she feels so blessed to have found her kind of "people" in the Valentinos. Robbie was somehow born human despite the circumstances, but has been a zombie since he was 14 when an accident at summer camp resulted in him drowning. His mother performed a profane forbidden ritual to defy god and save him, and that was the consequence.

I was sitting in a black Uber with the girls, on our way to celebrate Yunho's birthday party, which was a surprise for him, organized by his girlfriend, who was my best friend. She was so excited the whole week, as everything needed to be in its place, annoying me the whole time, as Yunho can't find out no matter what. She was really determined to organize this little get-together with our friends' circle.

As I was sitting in the car, I got excited too because we haven't been together for at least a month. I missed being with my friends, as everyone was occupied by their own life, work taking most of our time. This little friend group of ours started in college, as my best friend got together with Yunho with a lot of ups and downs, they both being very obvious but blind. So, when they finally got together, Yunho's friend group and ours started to go out a lot of times, organizing a lot of random trips into the mountains, going on holidays together. As we graduated, luckily, our friend group stayed the same, but with less hanging out. I felt some kind of relief as we were heading to the fancy restaurant, where my best friend reserved tables.

We stepped out from the Uber after paying the driver and thanking him for the ride. The sun already went down, leaving behind nothing but the lights of the city, which came to life with the people going out to party or just to have some fun in the city, as the weather was very nice, the beginning of summer swinging in the chill air.

I pulled down a little the black tight dress I was wearing, as it was a little short, and adjusted the gift I bought for Yunho, as I couldn't come empty-handed, and we went into the restaurant, which was all luxurious and fancy, black being the main color of the area, with a spark of gold. It really screamed rich vibes. I had no idea how my best friend managed to reserve a table for ten people in this place, but I guess she had her own ways for that. At the entrance, a lady waited for us with a bright fake smile, as we told her that we had a reservation. She showed the way towards the said table; some of the guys were already there, but Yunho and my best friend weren't yet, as I assumed they were coming when supposedly everyone was here. The table was already set, some candles and little sparkling decorations were on it. It looked very inviting; I'm sure Yunho is going to like it.

As I sat down, next to the girls, I made eye contact with him. He was glaring at me with his sharp eyes, taking me in, up and down, as a little smile appeared on his lips, his dimples showing. He was wearing a white elegant shirt, with two buttons undone, his sharp collarbones on the sight and a chain-like necklace around his neck, that almost reached his collarbones. His raven-black hair wiped back, only a few stripes falling into his forehead. I greeted the others as I immediately averted my eyes off of him. I didn't want to be suspicious. We started to chat with the girls, trying to catch up on the things we missed in each other's lives, some old wines appearing on the table, brought by the waiter, whom I made eye contact a few times; he was cute and handsome. I felt two sharp glares on me from time to time, but I just didn't mind him. I came here to have fun.

After a while, finally, Yunho and my best friend came, Yunho had a blindfold on his eyes, so he couldn't see us, and when they came to the table, he took off the blindfold and we started clapping and singing for him. I felt happy as everyone was smiling at Yunho, and him being so surprised and emotional because of the sweet surprise. He leaned towards my best friend and pecked her lips, with the sweetest and happiest smile, as their foreheads touched and they whispered something to each other, probably Yunho thanking his beautiful girlfriend for organizing all of this. I was so happy seeing them like this, it made my heart melt, as I saw how deeply in love, they were with each other. That's what I wished for all my life, as it didn't really come, yet. I was confused all my life, of when love will come into my life, will it eventually come?

I was still confused as we finally sat down, and I made eye contact with San, who was a really special person in my life. We weren't together, but we weren't total strangers to each other. The thing is, we kind of had a thing going on between the two of us; we just didn’t really know what it was. We still needed to figure it out, so we decided not to tell our friends until we somehow figured it out on our own, not letting others interrupt our feelings. Because I'm sure there were feelings, some feelings I couldn't put anywhere. That was sure, I never felt like this towards anyone, but I wasn't exactly sure if it was only a tidal wave. And I wasn't sure if San felt the same way, or if he even felt something.

The ominous dramatic night when he kind of confessed to me in the rain still made my heart melt, as we had a brutal fight before that, and we were yelling at each other, but it was because of some childish things. We were yelling at each other in the pouring rain, just until he grabbed my hands and yanked me towards him and told me the sweetest things, he could ever say to me. And suddenly I was lost in the tide of emotions, fear being my biggest enemy as I didn't know if it was a good thing being with him. But I couldn't really think a lot because he suddenly pressed his lips against my wet lips, and we were just standing in the rain, soaked, taking in the other’s lips like we could never imagine. His wet lips moving against mine, I could taste the raindrops on his lips, which kind of tasted sweet, as everything that connected me with San always tasted sweet like honey. When we separated, he promised me, he is going to protect me from the world, no matter what. From then, we were hanging out, he took me to special places, we made out a lot, we even slept together. We had times when we were with our friends and we secretly kissed each other, hiding behind trees, going out to the bathroom, him coming after me, almost getting caught in the heated moments by our friends. We did this for months and I kind of started to get enough of this hiding. But the thing is, I felt like it was only a friends with benefits kind of relationship. We didn't really speak about ourselves when we were together; it felt strange as it was supposed to drive us towards a real relationship, but sometimes it felt awkward, and sometimes it felt like the most natural thing ever, just being with him, and not exactly speaking, just being in each other's presence. I really wanted it to be something more serious between us, but I didn’t really see the signs that it could happen anytime.

Being in the present time, I tried to have fun and talk with my friends a lot, I missed them and felt nice being with them and pretending we were again in college, not having any adult problems in our lives. After some drinking and eating, Yunho's birthday cake was brought to the table with big candles and sparklers on it. Yunho looked sincerely happy and my best friend looked at him, with loving eyes, as Yunho closed his eyes to wish something and blew out the candles.

My eyes eventually found San's again, as they couldn't be apart from each other for a long time, I tried to avoid his gaze all night, but it wasn't easy, as I felt his sharp eyes on me all the time. He glared at me and tilted his head very slowly, nodding towards the bathroom. My heart started to race quickly to that as I slowly slid my chair back and excused myself to the bathroom.

When I reached the ladies bathroom, no one was here, so I just stood right in front of the mirror to check if my lip-gloss was smudged from eating. Then I heard the door opening, a few quiet footsteps, and I felt two warm hands around my waist, pulling me closer to his chest, as he was glaring at me through the mirror in front of us. His dark cherry scent hugged me around, like it never wanted me to escape. He slowly nuzzled his nose into the side of my neck, following the line of my veins, as I tilted it so he had better access to it, still glaring at me through the mirror.

"God, I missed your smell." His low voice sent goosebumps around my body, as he smelled my neck, pulling me closer by my waist, as he couldn't get enough of me. He started to kiss the line of my neck up to my ear and slowly biting my earlobe, I shot my eyes closed as my body started to feel hotter, he slowly turned me around, still holding me close, not letting any space between us.

"This dress looks really good on you, Y/N." He traced the line of my sides, where the dress showed my hourglass shape. "You look beautiful." He reached his hand to my chin holding it between his fingers, to look into his eyes, as I couldn't really look into his, when he looked at me like he could eat me right there. He probably wasn't too far from that.

"Thank you." I whispered into his lips. "You look good, as well." I smiled at him teasingly.

He finally smiled, his sharp glare disappearing, as his eyes formed crescents, his deep dimples showing on both sides of his cheeks. "I dressed up only for you." He said with a sweet smile, cupping my face.

I chuckled at that, how could he be so adorable, I can't take this forever. "If you keep doing that, I'm going to die, Sannie." I said smiling at him fondly, feeling as happiness crawled into my veins with every passing minute as I was with him.

"Doing what?" He chuckled as it made my heart more and more warm.

"Being cute, don't do that." I pouted at him.

"Do you want me to be rough?" His voice dropped a few octaves, as he frowned. It always amazed me, how he could switch from being a little adorable cat, to a buffed, scary man. It was insane. He slowly pushed me against the sink, my lower back stinging from the impact.

"San-ah!" I hit his chest, chuckling, as I felt my face getting warmer.

"C'mon, I just want to kiss, my girl." He whined with a pout on his lips.

"Then do it, you idiot." I smiled at him, as I started to get very impatient. He grabbed my waist again and pulled me closer, so he could kiss me finally. I really missed his lips on mine, and just being with him, as we recently both were full with work, we couldn’t really focus on each other. Our lips moved together desperate, not wanting to separate, he tasted like the wine that he drank, I could feel the grapes that were harvested from a big dry Italian field. His lips moved with mine with passion, his hands running up my back to my nape, pushing me forward just to deepen the kiss, I let out a quiet moan at that. When we ran out of oxygen he captured my lower lip between his teeth, biting it so hard I felt like my lower lip is going to bleed if he keeps doing that. My body started to heat, the tension between us getting warmer and warmer. I was very tempted to let him do anything he wanted right there. He slowly started to kiss my jaw, going down my neck leaving sweet passionate kisses on the way, until he reached my collarbone, just to suck a little red mark there. His grip on my waist tightening with the tension getting heavier between us.

“San, they are going to see it.” I ran my fingers through his hair, pulling him up to look into his eyes serious.

“I don’t care, I want them to see that you are mine.” He looked at me sharply, the desire in his eyes burning like hell.

He was about to kiss me again, when suddenly we heard talking from the door and we quickly separated from each other just to rush into one of the stalls. I locked the door quickly.

"Stand on the toilet, so they won't see your shoes." I whispered to him feeling nervous of being caught.

He quickly stood up on the toilet which made a weird noise. We looked at each other and started laughing quietly as I pressed my hands to my mouth so I won't make a noise, San did the same as I saw that tears started to appear in his eyes, from the withholding laughter. At the exact same time, the door opened and we heard talking. It was two of the girls, from our friend groups. I leaned my head against the door, and tried to think of some serious things, so I won't laugh.

"Y/N, is that you?" I heard a voice coming from outside after a while. "Are you okay?" My eyes rounded, I started to panic, suddenly words couldn’t come out of my mouth but San nudged me to say something.

"Ahm…Ye-Yes, I'm okay, I just have cramps, but I'll be right back." I said with my voice a bit weak, as they needed to believe what I said. I locked my eyes with San’s as he was struggling to hold his laughter back.

"Okay, tell me if you need anything." My friend said.

"Okay." I answered my voice getting a little weird, as I couldn’t hold my laughter, but they already left the bathroom and I broke into laughter alongside with San. I sighed in relief and leaned against the door, closing my eyes, trying to calm down.

"Fuck, we almost got caught." I whispered, not looking at San. I heard as he slowly jumped off from the toilet and cupped my face.

"What if we don't hide anymore? I'm sick of this constant running when one of our friends are around. At the end of the day, they are our friends." He said still whispering for some reason.

I looked at him, as my heart started to race on the thought of finally being together with San, properly. It surprised me because I would never have thought that San would be the first to take the first step in our relationship. Sure, he was the one confessing to me, but after that it kind of seemed like he was waiting for me, so I could decide what I wanted.

"Really? Do you think we can finally step on the next level? Is it serious for you?" I asked him, feeling a bit nervous, as this question could never leave my mind.

"Of course it is, it was from the beginning, I was just waiting for you, so you could put together the puzzles in your head, as I knew you had a hard time back then," he said smiling at me like I was his whole world.

I held his wrists, that held my face. "Why are you so perfect?" I questioned him, with a smile.

He shrugged with a chuckle. "I don't know, God made me like this, I guess." He smiled, as his face got serious slowly. "But seriously, I want to be with you, properly. I don't want to hide anymore, I want to show you to the world, I want to show everyone that I have the most beautiful woman on Earth, and I don't want anybody near you, just me." His voice was sweet like honey, as his words flowed through my lips, into my heart, as I felt my heart swimming in nothing but honey.

I sincerely smiled at him. "I want to be with you too, San. I want to show our friends how proud I am of you, I always needed to just smile, whenever you talked about your job achievements, but now I want the whole world to know that how proud I am of my Sannie and that I’m right by your side." My smile never disappeared as my eyes sparkled, sweet emotions flowing around us like sweet protectors.

He looked at me, like he couldn't believe his eyes, like he couldn't believe the fact that I was his, wholeheartedly. He closed the distance between our lips, and kissed me like never before, like I was the last thing he cared about, like we were the last standing human beings on earth and the end of the world was near. His lips moved along with mine like it was destined for each other, like it was made for each other. The kiss was slow and passionate, his hands still cupping my cheeks, his right hand slowly tracing down my spine just to grab my waist and pull me closer to him. Our heartbeats were beating with the same rhythm as they became one with us.

"Will you be officially my girlfriend and partner in crime, Y/N?" He caressed my cheeks with loving eyes, after we separated from the best kiss of my life. And how many were waiting for me still.

"Of course I will, San." I smiled at him sweetly, as he leaned again towards my lips, capturing it like he wanted to stamp our promise to each other.

"I would've never thought this is going to be the place when we are going to make our next big step." I said overflowed with happy emotions.

We laughed at our situation and stepped out from the stall finally, leaving our concerns about each other behind. All the concerns and the bad feelings of not being able to be together with San flew away as I saw how San was looking at me, his eyes were full with care, full with love, that made my heart melt.

We left the bathroom hand in hand, so we could finally introduce each other to our friends as boyfriend and girlfriend, many big steps still awaited us in our future together.

Got a bit of a ramble plus a question but it's a bit long

How open to cuddling are the Nrc folks? Or more like, how willing and upfront/obvious about wanting scritches and pets is everyone in Nonhuman au. I was wondering where on the sliding scale of "unabashedly unashamedly asking for cuddles" vs "i totally do not want cuddles but if you don't give attention to me i will be upset for completely unrelated reasons that have nothing to do with not being petted and cuddled"

(also due to my garbo memory, i can't remember if basically the majority of all of NRC is now nonhuman in this au but i do recall that humans are rare so I'm gonna put in the other NRC folks too in case also cause it's fun)

I feel like the most upfront and unabashed about demanding or asking for scritches would be Lilia of course. Followed by Ace (i feel like he's desperately trying to act smug and jokey about it but he will be genuinely upset if you turn him down or worse get annoyed and actually go to someone else). Deuce i feel like wouldn't necessarily be super upfront (he's uber embarrassed and doesn't know how to go about communicating that) but he will do what he thinks will get what he wants without being too pushy. Lots of Deuce being fairly clingy and lots of casual leaning on reader/yuu but Deuce would get flustered easily i believe and he doesn't have the word weaving skills like Ace to try to bluff his way out. Also Floyd will give Lilia a run for his money with how vocal and willing to go get his damn cuddles. Kalim as well but he's not as likely to gun for Reader/Yuu like Lilia or Floyd. More of an impromptu decision based on encounters.

Cater, Trey, Jack, maybe even Ruggie and Jade are less openly vocal and pushy about their scritches and cuddles. They are more likely to be casual i believe and also try to sneak in their wants. However they probably won't deny nor completely avoid the want for pets or grooming. Rook can technically be placed here too cause i feel like he wants to have attention on him but also he wants his little mischievous chase games in the mix (he's being chased and the reward is pets) but he doesn't want to miss out on that relaxation time just in case the lil human can't keep up. Some good old Rook complexity in there involving wanting to be accepted to be seen and to see beauty but also an odd sense of trepidation and almost shyness, he might even half joke about how you're trying to tame him and that you should be responsible for those you tame

The last group definitely feels like the type to never outright demand or ask for cuddles scritches or pets but they will be soo petty and irritated if they think they're not getting their due attention. Jealous tsunderes to me lol. Leona, Vil, Riddle, Idia and Malleus go in this category but for different reasons. Leona and Vil just have a lot of pride and an image they're trying to uphold. Riddle and Idia are soo touch starved and socially awkward that they both don't know how to go about communicating what they want but also they don't know how to handle it when they're actually interacting. (riddle is so socially awkward but he at least has a plethora of rules to work off of unlike idia). Malleus is awkward and out of his depth so i think he just wouldn't know how to express what he wants but he's very jealous of the others for getting their own cuddles so easily in comparison

With the guys at that school in general It's sort of a case-by-case type thing and depends on the person in particular. Kind of like how some people are cool with physical affection or hugs but some aren't, and with others, you gotta build up a bond for them to be cool with it. Some of the beasties aren't gonna want some random person touching them, just like a regular person wouldn't be cool with it.

A thing to remember though that changes the circumstance is, that this is a school full of a bunch of hormonal dudes and you happen to be a cute exotic little thing. So some are gonna be cooler with that curious touching just for that…though you should be wary of their intentions.

Looking at what you wrote I say you're pretty spot on with how open those certain main guys would be to it.
