Truly love how this episode is so devastating, it's the first time we actually see Cheng Xiaoshi die with Lu Guang holding his hand, we get to see his last words and now we have confirmation that Qiao Ling is also dead in at least one timeline and we get to see how devastating everything is for Lu Guang and we get a very sad ending for Vivian, Cheng Xiaoshi got hit with a bat on the head, kidnapped and almost killed again....

...And also, this is one of the silliest episodes. Lu Guang is an anime weeb and they almost had matching cosplays with Lu Guang as a love interest. Lu Guang pretended he was doing divination, Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling were such a comedic duo: they both used puppy dogs eyes on him, it was super effective, Qiao Ling got to be a little queer herself in the first story and was the hero and also got to slap a rich dumdum, Cheng Xiaoshi was such a silly goofy little guy. The first thing Lu Guang did after coming back to the past was take a ball to the head. Cheng Xiaoshi essentially proposed by the end of the episode.

Sorry I'm talking about Minecraft shit again but like...

The thing that makes the Iskall situation so sad to me, even moreso after this new info, is that it literally did not need to be this big of a deal. The allegations were not life or even career ending stuff. Don't get me wrong, the dude's a gross sex creep, but he didn't commit any crimes and people have been forgiven for worse. He also clearly knew about the allegations well in advance of any of the other Hermits finding out.

It would have been very easy for him to get out of this situation. There are so many different ways he could have gotten out of this situation.

Reach out to the people affected privately, apologize, and agree to come to a conclusion about the situation privately! They don't have to even forgive him to agree to just not talk publicly about it.

Discuss the allegations well ahead of time with the other Hermits and come to a conclusion about how to proceed! They would have been more than capable of handling it as a group. Other Hermits could have reached out to moderate with the people making the allegations, and they could have helped him make an apology video to explain the situation and do damage control. Hell, it sounds like they were already gearing up to do this when he resigned.

Quietly resign and keep working on Vault Hunters! He wasn't even active on Hermitcraft when this happened. Apologize and work it out with the people he hurt, explain the situation to the VH community, and just keep doing his thing with a lower profile.

But all of those solutions would require a fucking iota of shame, a tiny little inkling in his brain that maybe the stuff he did was bad, and the personal moral character to say "my bad, I fucked up." And this whole video whining about being cancelled just shows that he absolutely does not have that moral character in the slightest. He does not have the self awareness or emotional maturity to say "Hey, I did something shitty that hurt people's feelings" and take responsibility for that fact. Not only has he not apologized for being a creep in the past, he genuinely thinks everything he did was fine and he will absolutely continue to be a creep in the future.

So what could have been a very minor drama, another "Wow, Hermitcraft handled that controversy really well!" moment, turned into him torpedoing his own career and causing awful stress and pain to everyone involved for no fucking reason. Congratulations everybody, we did it.

my sister and i just yapped for almost three hours and we were just talking about how genuinely weird people in fandom are surrounding characters who have explicit mental illness. like they can never ever be normal. there are characters who are romanticised and glamourised for their mental illness (eren. wanda. joker. kaneki. nico. almost any danganronpa/ddlc character). characters who are consistently ridiculed for their mental illness either because it simply isn’t getting taken seriously (reiner) or because no one takes the character seriously (armin). and there are the characters that get blatantly outright DESPISED for it (basil, harry potter, korra, gale, also eren etc etc). like yes im seeing a correlation but its still so astounding how selective people are about where they draw the line with mental illness and what traits they can accept.

Following after my previous ponderings between Hien and Juno in particular, I have a less-goofy interaction. So if it wasn't clear, I do not think they get along At All. I get the image of someone forced into a group project with people they can't stand but you need the grade.

But besides that, why did I pick (on) Hien? In addition to him being a human, Hien's actions were driven by his jealousy of Hiryu. So there must be a hint of inferiority hiding in there, no?

Charlie design! Her horns stay out because she's not sure how to conceal them yet. When they grew out it became hard to hide them. She's a bit insecure about her demon features. Doesn't help her parents think of her as a failure and disappointment. Yeah, she's got some family problems 😔 my poor baby. Oh yeah and also she kills people for Valerie! It's apart of their deal, due to Valerie's gang stuff, she summoned a demon to protect her. And kill for her. Who knew she'd fall in love with that same demon and let alone become friends with her?

Human form! Her pupils are still goat like, plus her fingers look like claws to differ herself from other humans. Buttt... she still fits in as one so she's totally fine! She's kinda giving Sheldonnand I'm scared. She's annoying asf to everyone in the school she goes to with Valerie. People try to fuck her up but she doesn't want to risk getting caught as a demon so when that happens, Valerie is the one that protects her! So ykno, a good ol' switcheroo!
